wonderful job. The culture the uh

uh to have the swim uh the Canon one day
[26:18] and the uh Powel River Bar with the
Dabilwa who does a wonderful job of

they're part it's it's all part of our
[26:27] community. We're we're all united and uh
they did a wonderful job. Um there's a
[26:33] couple other things that are coming up.
Uh the Snowbirds,
[26:37] we have uh our Labor Day uh weekend.
They have a wonderful I had a a little
[26:43] look at the schedule. There's going to
be four days of wonderful events for the
[26:47] children. And again, uh Brian Arsenal
and his committee, they do a great job
[26:52] of putting on a nice event. Uh and then
we're going to roll into the Charlotte
[26:56] Fall Fair, which has been a staple in
Charlo for as long as I can remember.
[27:03] And uh and on on some good news, the
Dezy Dodgers have been selected to uh
[27:09] host the New Brunswick Intermediate uh
baseball championships held September
[27:15] 12th. So that'll be great for our
community to have uh showcase our town
[27:20] and uh and hopefully the Dodgers uh win
a title.
[27:25] And uh on a business standpoint, uh
we're still waiting for a estimate for
[27:31] the leak at the roof. We changed the
plan that we had that wouldn't work. So
[27:35] we have to go with a different TUR
method. Uh we should have an estimate in
[27:39] the next week or two. And uh I had
attended the uh closing of uh Lassource
[27:48] uh the last night and I think for a lot
of us uh 52 years I went there as a
[27:55] child of my parents. I went there on my
own to listen to music and have a
[27:59] beverage. And uh I brought my children
there. My grandparents brought me there
[28:05] and I think we can all say the same
thing. And uh after 52 years a big hats
[28:10] off to Gil Villa for providing uh that
to us and uh I hope it turns into

municipalities that have that, but that
[31:37] would has to have and when we change the
bylaws, it's three readings. So, it's
[31:41] it's going to come probably in the fall
or whenever. Uh just a reminder that,

which is Lillian, just one. Uh she she
[31:51] needs her summer vacations as well. So,
when senior staff is off, we can't meet

mention though community development and
[32:52] planning uh that the municipal plan is
being uh worked on by the planning

municipal plan is our land juice for
[33:02] Heron Bay. Right now the municipal plan
Charlotte has one
[33:08] has one. So it it what happens what the
process will be is that they will draft
[33:13] it. There will be public presentations
where you the public can come and ask
[33:17] questions and that takes a while. Uh
we're one of the last ones I think to be
[33:21] done. So there are working at that. So
that's exactly when you get into uh
[33:26] community development. Also um we I have
met as mayor there have been people who
[33:32] have come in who have business ideas and
plans and things. I can't comment
[33:36] because a lot of that stuff is
confidential but to say that we do meet
[33:40] on a regular basis. There's always
people coming in with ideas and plans
[33:44] and uh and I'm actually quite uh you
know people say things aren't happening
[33:49] but people are maybe feeling that there
is a change and so uh we have had people
[33:54] come in and meet us on different things

financial portfolio. I just want to
[34:54] mention that I have sent every counselor
the uh grants and donation policy for
[35:00] review. So, if everybody will I think
everybody received this if they just

comments and uh we'll we'll adjust as we
[35:09] go. Uh I want to mention also that when
council hears about significant savings
[35:15] in the delivery of municipal services, I
believe it's important to recognize the
[35:20] employees whose efforts made those
results possible. I would like to take
[35:25] this opportunity to recognize our public
works supervisor and staff for their
[35:29] leadership and innovation in innovative
approach to winter road maintenance by
[35:34] stay staying current with new knowledge
and adopting best practice in salt
[35:39] management. It was reported to council
that the public works team had gone from
[35:43] using 4,500 tons of salt to 2100 tons,
achieving a saving of about $200,000 in
[35:50] 2025
while maintaining the quality of service
[35:54] provided to residents. These savings
represent a significant benefit to
[36:00] taxpayers and demonstrate what we can
achieve when employees are encouraged to
[36:04] apply new knowledge and new approaches
to municipal operations. Innovation does
[36:10] not always require spend that does not
always require spending more. That is
[36:16] what you call true leadership
[36:21] for the health portfolio. I would like
to read a letter that we got from uh
[36:26] somebody from the fresh for less
program.

sometimes what we contribute make a
[37:56] difference in people's lives
[38:00] for the uh the health and wellness file.
I just want to say that the council will
[38:06] be able will be at the table to the
local service committee for the first
[38:10] time on August 19th. So this week coming
the committee addresses issues related
[38:16] to primary care service available in our
community. In a nutshell the purpose of
[38:21] this committee is to optimize and align
the various programs services project
[38:28] and initiative in the health and primary
health care continuum in our community.
[38:34] This community, this community aims to
create crossf functional links between
[38:39] the various departments and sectors with
a view to implementing an integrated
[38:44] service network. It will make it
possible to identify gaps, make
[38:49] recommendations
to address these gaps and remove
[38:53] barriers to service delivery. So this is
really a uh a committee that looks at
[38:58] healthcare in our region in the whole
region the the the like the rest of
[39:04] region. So it it would it will be a plus
for us to be at the table and to be able
[39:09] to discuss that and bring our you know
if we have uh the you know
[39:15] so

[41:10] had them send a letter uh of support uh
to reiterate the problem with the uh vet
[41:16] labs and the cuts to the laboratory. So
that was I proposed that to the regional
[41:22] service commission and a letter was sent
on our behalf and we're continuing that.
[41:26] Uh we wanted to let people know that
maybe the the rest region sometime we
[41:31] are at a disadvantage for recruitment
and things. So we wanted to bring that
[41:35] to the forefront. Uh we also um meet
we're still in negotiations for
[41:41] different issues and some of them I
can't speak of this evening because when
[41:45] it's negotiations it's uh it's of course
confidential but certainly as soon as we
[41:50] have news we will uh bring it to you.
Uh, I just wanted to mention some of the
[41:55] a lot of the calls I get are for
unsightly premises and it's mostly
[42:00] people who do not mow their lawns and
have garbage and things and you know I I
[42:04] just put it out there that if we had all
had a little bit of civic pride that you
[42:08] know uh we could maybe do those things
because for us uh I'm slightly premise
[42:14] it is a big file but it's also there's
so many little wins that we could have.
[42:18] So, I'm just asking uh you know,
citizens to look at your front lawns and
[42:23] you know and and just kind of it doesn't
take much and pick up the the garbage
[42:28] and uh it's it's people pay uh high
assessments. They pay high taxes on
[42:33] their property. Everybody likes to enjoy
their property and so it's nice uh if we
[42:38] had some civic pride to to do those
things because I get so many calls as
[42:44] the counselors do uh you know and the
neighbor doesn't cut the lawn and that
[42:48] and I know uh we want to save the bees
but after June 1st uh there's a lot of
[42:52] flowers in the summer so I know my bees
have lots of flowers to collect pollen
[42:57] so you know and grass high grass uh is
bad for fires and rodents and uh
[43:04] somebody throw that in if the dryness
somebody throws a cigarette in that tall
[43:07] grass. Our houses are close together. So
it becomes a safety issue. So I just you
[43:12] know just an everybody could do their
part. It would really really reduce uh
[43:17] having to send you a letter or you know
argue the point. So I'm just asking if
[43:23] we can all just make a little effort to
to get our our properties in order. Uh

proper shares indicated in schedule A.

Municipalities in New Brunswick issues
[51:13] reimbursements of deductible fund
balances for policy terms that meet the
[51:17] conditions set out in the fund release
agreements where whereas the governing
[51:22] management of the collective funds
provide the following with respective
[51:26] release of the funds.
The guarantee fund shall remain in
[51:31] effect until the funds have been
exhausted through payment of claims
[51:34] attributable to them or until all
reported claims have been fully settled
[51:39] or have become statute barred or have
been recognized as such by the court for
[51:44] all claims covered by the policy
issued during the applicable period.
[51:51] Upon joint confirmation by the insurer
and the insured municipalities that no
[51:56] claims remain outstanding under the
policies issued for the applicable
[52:00] period, the remaining balance of the
fund shall be released and returned to
[52:04] the insured municipalities in proportion
to their respective contributions
[52:08] together with a detailed accounting of
all the fund and list of reimbursements
[52:11] made.
[52:16] Whereas all claims reported to the
broker relating to the said insurance
[52:19] policy
[52:23] related collective deductible guaranteed
funds have been processed and closed by
[52:27] the insurers.
Whereas a town of Herren Bay, formerly
[52:31] Sher confirms that there are no no
outstanding claims covered under the
[52:36] insurance policies issued through broker
A for the policy terms identified in
[52:40] schedule A for which claim related costs
may still be incurred.

Sherow requests that the balances
[52:49] identified in schedule A be released in

release of these funds terminates the

[53:31] Whereas the insurers may investigate or
intervene as they deem appropriate.

Charlotte undertakes to repay in whole
[53:41] or in part any amount refunded from the
collective deductible guaranteed should
[53:46] a future claim arise that engages a
collective primary liability deductible
[53:51] for any periods listed in schedule A.

obtained from the broker confirming

Shield is a the Hamilton area Northern
[57:45] Shield is a competitive senior women's
hockey team in northern New Brunswick.
[57:50] They are part of the new regional senior
women's hockey structure alongside the
[57:55] Bathers Blades and the Miramashi Mayhem
forming a competitive local local loop.
[58:02] The founders are Veronic Tibo and
Marilyn Soier. The player pool the
[58:07] roster primarily draws local players
from the Hamilton and Heron Bay area.
[58:15] So it's like a senior for hockey for
women's hockey.

and what I would suggest is I would like
[58:34] the uh the co core organizers to come in
and give us a little more of an update
[58:40] on where they intend to play and then we
can make a decision on uh

[58:49] town, maybe we can help out with that or
something. But we need a little bit more
[58:52] information before we make a decision on
uh on this.
