The first order of business, so we have is you approval of minutes from the July 21st meeting, which was circulated at the remaining elections. [0:31] I just, I had made, I had sent whatever doses that it's John Parker and I'm John. [0:44] To open that correction [0:48] on those in favor. [0:50] Okay, thank you. The next thing on the agenda is public comment for anything that's not on the agenda, is there anything from the committee or anything on the floor? [0:59] I have to do something like that. [1:01] Please come up and take this. [1:07] So I can divide yourself in it. [1:09] I'll see you. [1:09] I'm under the law. [1:10] I have a volunteer avenue. [1:13] And I have a health and safety hazard issue [1:17] with the volunteer avenue entrance to the beach. [1:22] For those of us who are short-legged, the exit to the beach [1:29] is now saying this contact. [1:32] If you remember there was a ramp going up from the street and there are two concrete steps only happens. [1:41] If seeing this compact is so much idling inside and there's no handrail. [1:51] So it really had to be very well-trained. [1:56] So we made a lower, very, very good in your [2:04] strength to get up onto the ASAP. [2:09] Last thing that I'm going to do is I'm going to [2:14] choose able to get our balance. [2:19] So there should be a fall of people with beach cards and pass it to [2:27] the strollers here for lunch. [2:34] Thank you. [2:35] I bring that to attention. We'll take a look at it. I'm sure we can find some way to it. [2:43] I know residents have been trying to shuttle sand there, but you can't really get to it. [2:51] Yeah, one of the residents will do that. [2:53] It is, it's the impact you can do. [2:58] So what we'll figure out how we can get it, not to be asked. [3:03] I was just a little bit excited. [3:05] As an aside, I tried to email, [3:08] to visualize who comes up twice with pictures, [3:11] about this, it never went through. [3:16] And I also recorded a two-or-community service person. [3:21] She was going to record it to the heart. [3:24] So, just you might want to check the website. [3:28] Okay. [3:29] Yeah, we'll take a look at that. [3:30] thank you for coming and bringing to us. How did you say it didn't go through what went to the [3:34] doubts back? It balances back and I've done it twice and it doesn't accept it. [3:44] Okay, let's do it. Is anybody else in the audience please come on up and let them [3:50] I'm going to explain it to the question naturally. [3:53] I'm going to explain it to you. [3:55] Just identify yourself in a certain way. [4:00] We're at a grammar, 14, 13 and. [4:03] I just have one question. [4:05] Now, the entities on the beach, in terms of let's say, [4:10] it's played in their fathers. [4:12] Like hard wall on the beach. [4:15] And you have the ability to put things on it. [4:18] Hopefully not. [4:19] I can't forget that I'm actually, you know, this horrible, that's on the beach. [4:25] It's a little kid's, you know, running around. [4:28] If someone makes a mistake, it doesn't catch them. [4:31] So I don't know. [4:32] I'm sorry. [4:36] So I didn't want to know that. [4:38] And then you can discuss it if you have what you feel appropriate and... [4:44] I don't think we've talked specifically about that, [4:47] but I guess my thinking would be, and I have to look at other people on the planet. [4:50] but I keep thinking there's something that's unsaved like that. [4:53] I would talk to one of the CSOs and maybe they can talk to people [4:56] to something that's out of the line, what's the same thing? [4:58] Other people, people, people, people. [4:59] Yeah, we're looking for shirts. [5:01] I think, you know, they can only say maybe she can set her up [5:03] not to a minutes at high-side in health or at high-side in health. [5:06] I think, I think that we have to go maybe a step for that. [5:13] They're not going to be able to enforce that. [5:18] I mean, some of the people are feeling different. [5:20] I mean kind of rules and regulations, right here. [5:23] They flashed both on the feet that have not reached. [5:27] So it's only, oh, that's all we have. [5:30] So we have something very nice to see. [5:32] I'd say please, but you don't back up on each of the correct. [5:36] And he was very arrogant. [5:37] He knows what's why he wrote a kid. [5:39] He kind of led the girl to make her feel like, you know. [5:43] Have you ever heard of him? [5:44] He didn't want the education properly. [5:46] Have you ever heard of his studies? [5:47] So I think that, you know, if people don't see or if they have to let people know somehow that there are things that are dangerous on the beach and really appreciate it. [6:00] And you know, what do we do? We won't have this in the 30 minutes. [6:04] We had it playing or that there are young kids around, and you know, they're living is there. [6:15] don't put the stands back in, you know, you see people leaving homes that are so deep, [6:22] God is in the back of the kids that they, you know, that [6:28] we should do it. [6:36] Anyone else's from [6:43] us? Thank you. I think we're going to just move on to working with updates [6:47] and I started communications with Holly. [6:51] Hey there. So, as most of you know, there is a newsletter that goes out. So, if anybody [6:57] isn't getting it and wants to be at it, please come see me and we can enter email address and then [7:03] just a general comment that I usually put out the agenda or any topics especially in the spring [7:10] and the fall, but if there's anything else, then you guys are interested in that you would like [7:15] be part of the newsletter. Again, I'm happy to have you come up and see me say questions. [7:20] I'm just going to give it a little. [7:30] The final report on the covers will be released by the State in September, but I spoke with the IMIL with one of the state biologists that we had a total of 20 nesting pairs, 56 chicks, 38, which fled, which fled, which means 18 or so, either they didn't know when they fled, they didn't, or they just didn't make it. [8:01] So, and they don't know if they don't know if the shore is going to be witnessed in that stuff. [8:06] So, the storm, the sun's open, the storms, the radiation, or whatever that took care of them. [8:12] As far as water quality goes, it's been a pretty good August. [8:15] There were no elevated readings. [8:18] I need to, I need to, I need to use one of the main beams since our last meeting. [8:21] And there were four elevated readings in the little river. [8:25] Since our last meeting in free in the absence of the work last Wednesday, the August 12th was the last elevated [8:33] reading reading reading in the rivers and that was the highest title. [8:38] So it wasn't the ones before that, we're actually brain related. [8:42] The one last week was strictly, it was almost 11 foot time, so that flushes out the bacteria [8:48] when the marsh into the river, and I think I've said it a million times, a number of times [8:54] that if it's fun to go to the room or jump off the banks but do what on the income and tie it, [8:59] not the alcohol. [9:01] And at least the water will be cleaner. [9:04] We'll be just warm. [9:05] That's right, that's right. [9:09] And what I've been, I actually got to notice last the last week, the last week, the four, [9:18] that the town was, I got a keynote as from the town that they were extracting elevated [9:23] back here at the level. [9:24] So, if you want to hear from the town when the water's bad or if they think it's going to be bad, [9:30] you can just go to the town website, go to the home page and notify and fill out your information. [9:35] You can either get a text or an email about the water quality. [9:40] So, actually, you can sign up on whatever you want. [9:42] You can just go to the town website. [9:52] I think, great day. [9:53] That's right. [9:54] So, and that's all I have. [10:02] I think [10:06] we've talked about some parts of the city, I suppose, [10:09] focusing on traffic. [10:11] And we haven't been there. [10:12] We know back in July, we reported that the town [10:14] had ordered the electronic speed signs that it tells us. [10:18] We're on last year. [10:21] We had the good of on. [10:23] Thank you, Bro. [10:24] And we're spending a bit of time. [10:26] We have four signs now. [10:28] One of the good of the road in one of them is highway. [10:31] after you turn the last off of the day growth. [10:34] And she should, the day it would be, it's a ton of day [10:37] and it's everything that goes by the sign of this reported. [10:42] But the profile of this tractor here is a pound of the same [10:45] in the last year. [10:46] It says most people are either at the speed limit [10:49] or not too far above it. [10:52] And but there are still too many people [10:54] in traffic, way above it. [10:55] So I got a couple of things in the data. [10:58] So one of us was the top speed anybody drove down the road [11:03] So I'm Kings highway eastbound of your bill with this and 49 mile hours speed [11:11] No, I did it it's on in the day [11:15] You've been in the road was actually 48 miles for out [11:19] Coming down there [11:24] So [11:30] I had been to go to the day to get to look at [11:33] The exact number is going way above the speed limit if it's, I know that science captured [11:39] a ton of information, but people went one of the fire miles an hour over the speed limit [11:45] and take road the route. [11:47] About 18,000 cars, 1,500 going one of the fire miles an hour over the post 30 miles [11:54] per hour of speed limit. [11:57] And the time of day I was in charge right now, just like that. [11:59] But there are people walking on that, [12:01] but [12:06] the system really wants to talk to me. [12:10] But I hope that once we get it some more, [12:13] we can provide some more detail, [12:16] but the overall impression that the park police [12:18] department has is that things are actually [12:20] pretty good, the parking, the new parking spot, [12:24] and actually slow traffic down in some places. [12:27] And people have said they appreciate that. [12:30] The settings, like I said, with marketing, [12:35] the crosswalks and stuff that we can talk about in the beginning of it. I think by [12:39] and larger than the chief things everything's going pretty well. He had one request for us and [12:44] that was that when people had a problem on the beach, you know, that's a lot of talking or people [12:49] playing hard to out of there, call him and John DeBummer, the non-Burders and everything, right? [12:56] I would call him, but if you call him, call him and take an interesting picture, call him and [13:02] by your committee or Paul Lawrence Smith or don't share it though. [13:06] So like board, we need to play telephone to aggregate for the police to dispatch [13:10] on to the problem. [13:13] So the short set as they are, there was one pretty quickly to those things. [13:17] So just really get the word out of it. [13:19] And the problem arises, Paul. [13:21] That's the number. [13:22] It's 967, 2454, 2454, probably five minutes, get a closer. [13:29] What do you mean? [13:31] What do you mean? [13:34] And it was dispatches actually. [13:36] I mean, what are you saying? [13:39] Okay, that is dispatches. [13:41] Yeah, that is kind of important. [13:43] That is correct. [13:45] So that's why I know tonight. [13:49] Yes, yes. [13:50] I think one of the issues that I remember is, [13:53] I'm just going to ask you one of [14:02] the issues that I know this, [14:04] I have to be sure to do this. [14:06] also is the crosswalks. [14:16] They do those for now, but they're in literally many cars. [14:22] Those crosswalks [14:23] and there are so many children and those that use them and they care either oblivious. And I [14:30] don't know how you would dress it, but I thought maybe, you know, how you would have those [14:35] because you little signs that they slow down or something like that, and I probably don't even [14:45] So they go away. I don't know who I'm going to see. [14:52] So I'm going to be a part and truly the blood is so I think. [15:00] I think what we have to figure out is that we've got to suck in its way to warn people ahead of time that those go out this way down before we get on to the hospital. [15:09] Just making yourself once a week. [15:13] Whatever we have to deal with, I'm for it. [15:16] That's my question. [15:25] Thank you. I think we're finished with working with budget states and I guess I would just turn to new business. I don't have any items, but does anyone else have the committee have any new business items? [15:38] I think what I would like to do is join the business meeting and then turn over to Holly for the program that we have for the [15:45] evening. I think the next meeting that we have is September 21st. It will be a hybrid meeting at the North Street Fire Station as we transition to our off-season schedule. [15:55] So, is our motion to adjourn the business part of our meeting? [15:58] Is this part of the meeting? [16:00] Is there a second? [16:02] Okay, all those in favor? [16:04] Okay, thank you. I'm going to turn over to Holly. [16:07] Thank you. This is a really fun part. So we have some special guests who have been here [16:13] of a big part of their life. So I'm going to ask them to come up to the chairs. And we're [16:20] going to have a little fun conversation of chairs memories and here are all about [16:29] We've got from the committee that John, we've got Bill, [16:35] Carol Sherman, and then also, and then move there, and then something on. [16:41] So, then introduce the last balance. [16:46] What do you want to say? [17:23] We're going to start with our guest of honor, West Phillips. [17:29] West is a dear family friend for many, many years of our family. [17:34] For those of you don't know Wes and his lovely white Liz, if you've ever heard of Archie Smith, that was Wes's great father, so you actually shared some pictures with me as walked in, which I'm going to share and kind of have people pass around. [17:54] But his first one is actually Archie as a baby. [18:02] This is where he's wearing a dress. [18:05] You know Archie, we'd be all of those wearing a dress. [18:11] So we're going to pass that around. [18:15] And then, [18:18] does one? [18:19] I can't answer that. [18:23] This one. [18:24] Here is a purple one, [18:25] that's five. [18:26] Here is a purple one. [18:35] That's right. [18:40] Smith. [18:41] You know, they have found a pin that [18:48] we carried. [18:50] You know, they can go to the town of Burr. [18:53] Six. [18:54] Six. [18:56] Six. [18:56] Six. [19:08] Okay, so this one which we're going to pass from is actually our chiefsman's father for act. [19:16] And we've said a bit on the bottom of the road. [19:25] This one is actually our chiefsman with my father and my uncle. [19:30] We're trying to figure out what year that would be, but we're thinking about the new year. [19:35] We're thinking about the new year and the new year. [19:40] And you can also see the week by my standards. [19:44] They're standing in front of the door eight, and you've got to want to talk about the significance of the door eight. [19:55] Well, I found it was a fashion. [19:57] If we have done a product in the input diagram, if we are going to get to the beach, and yeah, [20:02] a little small house there, another fancy check and all, oh, great. [20:08] I'm going to look for five kids and a little bit of five kids. [20:13] Okay, from here, I'm going to do a good part of this. [20:18] I'm going to do this, but I think we need to do the, [20:26] let's go to some place for that. [20:31] And then this last one is your other brain powder. [20:35] So if you guys remember that I used to be [20:38] the letter in a truck and changed jobs. [20:41] I still remember we had an ice box with different departments. [20:46] And I don't think it happened. [20:47] When I was looking at the ice, they put in them. [20:49] But we still, of course, a family of nuts that I thought [20:52] existed as a wilder child that would be a little further [20:56] with the second institution that was your other brain powder, [20:59] food to the heart, I said, everybody has bad wounds. So I'm going to kind of open it up to everyone [21:08] because I know all folks here. [21:09] Other pictures touched up. [21:12] This is our exclusive alerts. [21:15] But when you pass it around notice the deep archers incredibly invented. [21:20] And he made dinghy out of the wheel, but then he could turn over with the wheel. [21:25] And then we'll see what it is. [21:26] This is how we got out to his glory. [21:28] Actually, what's told me that story, too? [21:31] Sure, they got that, wasn't it? [21:33] That would have been 1955, probably. [21:36] Yeah, that was my great father's favorite picture. [21:39] Yeah, yep. [21:40] Yeah. [21:41] We have an R.S. [21:45] So, I'm going to open it up to the full panel and have one question they all answered. [21:50] But before I do that, do you have a cherished memory of Archie that really stitched? [21:58] We're headed that you wanted to share. [22:00] I have a few of them. [22:01] I have a few of them. [22:03] I took a towel. [22:04] Well, then the chorus part again. [22:07] In the 1940s, they should get it. [22:09] For that purpose. [22:11] Perhaps they don't take it. [22:13] And he's, don't you, for service, don't take it. [22:17] Oh, he's pretty nice doing this. [22:18] We're evacuating him. [22:20] He says he's another evacuating me with the stuff right there. [22:23] Get there. [22:24] We're in the evacuating steel. [22:27] and then you go, and then you go, and then you go, and then you go. [22:30] I was going to say, so I'm correct, or she didn't evacuate, but his house was not in the Bible or her act. [22:37] I'm sorry, I'm sorry. [22:41] Sorry, because you said keep the story down to the beach. [22:45] Apparently somebody would want to know what the services can't do. [22:47] So you can't keep you. [22:49] The story of this beach. [22:51] I don't know if I was really easy to tell. [22:53] I thought I was like, okay, that's just the story. [22:56] I thought it was just the story. [22:57] I thought it was just the story. [23:01] And that's why RG is so impumeless. [23:05] Thank you so much. [23:07] All right, so I wanted, I think you all know everybody else up here, but let's start with [23:12] you, Carol, Carol Sherman. What is your favorite cherished memory of growing up at Goose [23:20] Rise? One story, maybe two stories? [23:27] I've been here all my life, but I'll make it short. [23:30] Just as a young tightster, and we grew up together, our parents were very good friends, [23:37] and we lived on that oceanfront. [23:39] I mean, all of us had American flag vote. [23:42] Everybody's got a song along. [23:44] And what our parents did, they party party. [23:48] And the lifestyle was, the mothers would come up with their children and stay all the summer. [23:53] And the fathers would go back and go across the during the weekend and work. [23:57] And we're Friday, can. [24:00] We all had more TV players. [24:02] And we put a more TV player on the view of playing American flag. [24:06] And the house is open. [24:08] And the party has started. [24:09] We've got to go to the back town. [24:11] We've been served every, every peak in. [24:15] We've been starting eight years. [24:17] And there's a picture back on the wall of one of the parties. [24:23] But with one of us, [24:24] I can't imagine if party plays a party. [24:27] I think we need to restart that. [24:39] It was a lot more sea life when I was younger here, and we had Easter in this rock, [24:51] they were hearing those with nest fit there at that time, and they were also, we could [25:07] And they're pretty well done. [25:09] I don't want it. [25:10] I'm going to change. [25:11] Wait a minute. [25:11] Oh, hi. [25:12] I can't leave my flowers. [25:14] I pay for those blooming little birds for 27 years. [25:17] And I just have to tell you. [25:18] When I started to stay domain, I only had 50 pairs. [25:22] This year, we pledged 300 and 49 chicks. [25:33] Well, you're most cherished memory. [25:36] I most cherished memory. [25:38] I do go for them one. [25:41] So when I was little, [25:42] little just the link saying castles on the beach but my dad and a couple of the other [25:46] dad were always working on his Sunday softball game anybody that lived down the East [25:51] and from the same point all the way to the time unless the kids joined him my dad [25:55] was always the permanent pitcher and he made it hard on the boys and we're on certain [26:01] people and easier on others but that was one and then when I was a teenager and college [26:07] years, water skiing, which I don't do with the river anymore, because it was the [26:11] waves getting into the tank. Nobody gave that a thought in the late 60s and early 70s. [26:17] But also, team night, I don't know if anyone remembers the team night, except the [26:22] Doug does, at the community house, where we had, it was Wednesday night, she had to be a [26:27] teenager. And so 13 it up. And they had a lot of music. [26:32] We didn't know if it was really good. It was pretty well held time for them. They only did it [26:36] And now, [26:41] there's walking the beach I've had this. [26:44] Well, we'll get to now, the show. [26:46] It was the same question for you to have a minor. [26:49] What is your favorite memory going on? [26:52] Like, personal. [26:53] So it was coming to go stress. [26:57] Let's figure out the animals on the beach. [27:01] We stood down to go starts because I live there. [27:03] I grew up in Kenny Hook. [27:05] I'm not a ghost. [27:06] I went back to London. [27:08] lose for up to 30 years now, so I guess I'm close to it. However, my sister and I were on the [27:15] beach, and we also landed in a tight road on the beach with a rucksack. That's what we [27:22] spent the last one in the South's beach. One year we're out there, and the small sea [27:27] came up to us. Sometimes we don't see, sometimes we take great time in the sea, and then we [27:38] The second one was, it's come to see if I felt the second thing, I don't have a button. [27:43] So we didn't go all the way up to an actual house. [27:47] And to all my parents, and I think the two of them, they just gave them a reason I didn't want to see. [27:54] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [27:57] And so, really, they taught us a little bit about today. [28:01] I think we just got those everywhere. [28:03] I want to be just one point in the carrot, they won't, but it's okay, as I've also [28:07] vaccinated. [28:10] That was one thing. [28:16] We had a house, a canopy, a diaper of, as you put down a diaper of, before we get to the [28:22] marsh, a wet hand side. [28:24] It was an okay thing. [28:26] I don't remember when you were coming here, but my father built the other first camp, back [28:33] in the fall of the forest fire. [28:36] And then the fire came from the printed printed, so, in other words, we were under the festivities, and the atmosphere, nothing special. [28:50] And so, my wife and I, that I can, I was, I was in 1991, and I toured in, I can't have the last camp, I built the houses there and I... [29:03] plenty more minutes, do it like that. I said, you can't build because you're within [29:07] under the educated white lines. So we grandfathered the camp, and we built our house. [29:12] We were just still standing and we started a few years ago. [29:17] What did you play in camp? It was a... It had no water, it had no electricity, it had an outhouse, [29:24] and it broke out. It had the outhouse. It broke out. It broke out. It broke out. It just broke out. [29:27] It just broke out. It broke out. It broke out. It broke out. It broke out. It broke out. It broke out. [29:33] a little cow and it says you're heading off the beach. [29:37] Right. [29:37] Right. [29:38] I think it's either. [29:39] Yeah. [29:41] We're the one who a little ponds are. [29:46] You've been trying to diswise to have, I put a rod in the sun. [29:49] So I have one of the ones who's saying, what people trying to do with drier place. [29:54] So don't go down and buzz the thread. [29:56] Don't go down and buzz the thread. [29:57] Don't do that. [29:58] Don't do that. [30:00] I think what's about this, I grew up next to Bill Prescott. Still, actually, on the home that we [30:08] purchased, we registered for 10 years and then went to home. And that's a home that during [30:14] who soon established a rebuilt there. [30:17] But Bill had 14 lost her tracks out in the bay [30:20] and bowed a little three horse power and bowed her. [30:23] And he would get his name from her. [30:25] He would get her track but had to barrel [30:27] and still would be down with a bucket and get her pay. [30:31] But everyone said a while, he would allow me [30:33] on a full tie. [30:34] And I would go out in the morning and dig raise the clams. [30:37] Did you solve? [30:39] I didn't know real when I did, I dug the race of clams. [30:42] And I would roll out it by little golf ever, a little golf foot, flat-bottom boat, and fish for public. [30:50] And then I would bring up the public, here in Guadaladville, he would pay to transit, I'd get to keep half of the lottery. [30:56] So as an eight-year-old, I brought home dinner. [31:00] And that was, that was a wonderful, a long-term effort. [31:06] I can back that in, you could walk on the lots of parts inside each spare box, the same [31:13] with the channel going out, kick mark is harbor, far in the stage harbor, the glues, the [31:21] such that you could always avoid the rock, the system of the middle stage harbor, as [31:26] you've just painted the glues, they're all going down. [31:29] The last year is the role of staying further out with the motor and subsequent temperature. [31:35] It's just to flip the warm for them to be in the bay. [31:40] I fear we're going to see them with a Canadian accent, or you should have a little bit. [31:46] The changes are happening. [31:49] We'll talk about that. [31:49] Well, talk about that. [31:50] That was a question. [31:51] Go ahead. [31:53] And if you remember the Holy Macro that was always in the bay that was your dad who was a brown run and actually married me. [32:03] That boat actually made like that boat in 1964. [32:07] So it was a 14 year old. It was a very first Boston well or a holiday. [32:11] And that was it. [32:12] When you put it back, I tell you when they first came out, they were really subterred in terms of being being so different. [32:19] we put to go through five engines. I think guys sold it at 98 and it was still the book. It was still [32:27] whole, it was still on the bay in 2018, which just can't kill the welders. [32:34] All right, so I'm just going back in a little way of introduction. I'm just going to start with [32:39] Carol. How did your family end up at good straws? How did they find it? How did you where you [32:49] I'll hold for you about when you first start from here. [32:54] And mother is a 10th generation, mayors. [32:58] Yeah. My mother is a 10th generation, mayors. [33:01] My fair. [33:03] Oh, right here. [33:05] My ancestors came over in 1653 as an adventure service. [33:10] Oh, no idea. [33:12] Yeah. [33:12] I didn't need to make the story. [33:14] Oh, no idea. [33:14] Oh, me, I had no idea, and told me all the information. [33:19] I've got, you know, a major, you know, I was in the morning here, but I am going to [33:23] die here, so I call myself the 10th of the night. [33:28] But I put the answer wrong, and I wanted to raise my arm, right? [33:32] Yes, you're right. [33:34] So I've been here all the time, [33:38] but I'm going to add a little bit of a light 70 years ago, [33:44] And 1948, we had a grounding at the church. [33:49] What was what it was, ground by the little river. [33:52] A very little river. [33:53] And that's sort of when that was on the teacher's association with whom. [33:57] And one of the things that was important was swimming lessons. [34:01] Monday through Friday. [34:05] Oh, yeah. [34:06] Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. [34:07] That was it. [34:09] If you stand on the beach show us what you're doing. [34:13] Well, I'm doing the week we did swimming lessons, you know, for years, and we didn't [34:19] matter what I was, we all did swimming lessons. But then after swimming lessons, I [34:24] like it was free. I mean, we just went out and then, when I was time for dinner, my mother [34:30] had a bill, a cowbell, ran a cowbell, and then we came. So that was sort of a life that [34:46] My self, I've been somewhere in here or in some of my life, I've been here in 1978. [34:52] So my mom's grandparents first vacation that the child is in 1879. [34:57] I mean, in 1899. [35:00] So that's all my mom's parents. [35:01] My parents are not walking up to my dad's family. [35:03] I don't know, it's not my dad's. [35:05] Great next to the child. [35:06] I'm sorry. [35:06] One house back to the main building up, like, two house, both house. [35:10] They used to be green, they always call the green house. [35:14] And that's, that's, that's my story as well. [35:17] I, I got lucky. So, I was forced to spend the entire summer on my life. [35:22] We just brought to each other, you can send me rare facts. [35:26] It's a tough life when you're, when you're a kid from Massachusetts. [35:30] But that's how we met you. [35:32] Just a great comment on Swim Lessons. [35:35] All my sisters got Swim Lessons. [35:37] I did not. [35:37] I think by the time they got to me in the poor child, they just like kind of gave up, but also there was a lifeguard. [35:44] Yeah, lifeguard. [35:47] Yeah, yeah. [35:48] Headstand. [35:50] And my dad was a lifeguard for a number of years as well, yes. [35:55] Why did they do a lifeguard? [35:57] Why did they do a lifeguard? [35:59] I think they do a lifeguard, I'm guessing. [36:01] Well, I can't do this before, yeah, it was [36:03] September the 60s probably. [36:07] I don't know. [36:09] Cost, usually the reason is cost, [36:12] liability, not liability, whatever. [36:15] I don't mean anything like that. [36:16] I don't mean anything like that. [36:17] I don't mean anything like that. [36:19] I don't think it was down. [36:21] I might have been in life in GVM, at the end of the year. [36:27] I don't know. [36:28] I mean, I don't know. [36:29] I go start to beach. [36:31] And so I did a little bit, this is the bridge, one of those character things, and the guy comes up. [36:37] And so that's me, all those characters are like, to be in. [36:43] So we need to get their artisans. [36:49] All right, same question was. [36:51] So I know you said you grew up in Denmark. [36:53] So when did your band? [36:54] So Archie would be here his father was here as well, [36:59] like as long as you remember. [37:00] I mean, I don't want to do anything. [37:02] Okay, but I mean, your family is always been here from here. [37:08] I was very excited. [37:09] Actually, [37:12] we were five kids with first marriage. [37:16] And my mother was one of them. [37:18] She had four sisters. [37:21] And one girl was killed in a train wreck. [37:24] But then he rebandered. [37:27] And he had five watchings. [37:36] So I would be setting a roll with a cannon on. [37:44] People with the poet, the reason down here, every quite often, when I was one of the bigger right [37:54] on Saturday or Sunday, and that's even a great part of it, and you keep it with the [38:01] small boat, I'll be able to take a ten-fought boat for a while. I had that for years, [38:10] and [38:10] there's a big question, just random one. [38:13] Sorry. [38:17] So when it was, I mean, as I said, I grew on the cutting one, and then I picked about four, [38:23] But when the Kenny McHoy school when I was in the freshman, we could so walk on it [38:32] out, junior high, so three, three, [38:38] and I didn't think too much about that idea, but [38:41] as it turned out, of the good days to my own place, of the Kenny McHoy, that was when we [38:46] I think about Kyle's basketball team. [38:50] We are great team. [38:51] Okay, thank you. [38:54] All right, same question, John. [38:58] My folks have been missing it. [39:00] The dice was broken, right? [39:01] It's missing it in every year. [39:02] They will go to your team. [39:04] So, Dan, New York. [39:05] He used to keep his little boat. [39:07] But I had a golf brother. [39:09] He was his boat at CapeNet. [39:11] He had a little place. [39:12] There was a great circumference over CapeNet. [39:15] In 1950, he was in case of New York and wanted to find a spot and came up and rented from [39:21] the old Prescott for 10 years, and they bought the house in 60, but I'm sold it in 2003. [39:27] We forgave her in 2006, but I'm not a real one, because it was the right thing to do. [39:34] I had two older sisters and one did, and we couldn't find it. [39:37] So she was right to sell it and do it in flight, and then we moved up here in 17. [39:47] All right, last question, so probably your childhood memories or what your memories now, [39:54] what has changed the most, and then also what has been, like, what is still somewhere [40:01] to the way it used to be. [40:07] The kids have some lot less room. [40:10] A lot more than that room. [40:14] For example, for the fourth of July, all year long, the fourth of the beach, and then we've [40:21] a bonfire for July and from the time and the day I was ready to take a big pole and put [40:28] seaweed in. We have a lobster bag for everybody. [40:34] So that was the old days. We didn't have [40:38] any good restaurants, so you know that we did it. We did it and we my father and I went to [40:46] and then I had a change for a change in my life. [40:50] Exactly. [40:51] I had a change month to Arizona. [40:56] What's the question? [40:59] I think what's changed the most in my life is the fact that [41:06] and I'm not causing, you know, trying to say anything bad about it. [41:10] But when the sewer came in, a lot of the houses got rebuilt. [41:16] So the visual of what the beach is changed. [41:20] I think, and everyone said that the beach is more crowded, [41:22] and I don't think the beach is more crowded. [41:26] There's obviously a lot of more houses. [41:28] There's all the... [41:30] I still call it Presbyte Highlands, up behind it. [41:36] And that... [41:36] There were no other, there were zero houses, [41:46] just like the media. [41:47] Yeah, great exactly. [41:49] So that's changed, but what hasn't changed is the answer to you. [41:52] People still come to groups for us with same reason. [41:55] It's a great family being, it's a great place to live with people. [41:59] Like, you know, every time I mean person like that, [42:01] I just mean training to keep, you know, a couple of years ago. [42:04] Everybody I ever need is really nice, and that's what I, that's what I don't think, [42:08] I mean, that is not changed. [42:13] Well, how about, you know, what's changed the most, [42:17] and then you were born and kind of on, and then what is still very similar to? [42:45] You can [42:50] also, if you don't have to answer that question, if there's any other memory that you wanted to share, that word is here. [42:57] If you just change our seat. [43:00] Stop listening. [43:02] So I said we did the first house 30 years ago. [43:06] Freedom of degrees. [43:07] Green house. [43:08] I spot all that. [43:11] And then the... [43:12] We did not have 10 years. [43:14] And the traffic was getting heavier. [43:16] So... [43:17] Based on what, [43:18] then I was down to the beach back in the night time. [43:21] And I was working. [43:22] And the same time I had to walk down. [43:25] I think, one out of the night I would see a car, then about 10 years ago, if we kept it in the [43:34] room, the car was going by all the time. [43:41] It's a big change, obviously. How many people? [43:45] Yeah, [43:47] I was just thinking about the car was mentioning to my teenage flag and the folks that were living [43:58] and coups rocks tended to be folks where they really had it as a second, as a second home that they spent the entire suffering. [44:10] The wives who were not working for the most part, back in that generation. [44:16] So we kids and our moms were at the beach for 10 weeks. [44:21] The dads would come up for the two re-facation of the chase of our gene fly every weekend. [44:28] So that was what, and I can go down at my memory and just name 20 different families as you went down to beach. [44:38] You know, now we don't have that luxury. [44:41] Women have been liberated. [44:44] You can say that's good or bad. [44:45] And things are very, very different in essence. [44:52] And so it's the sense of community that was really integral to what the beach was then. [45:00] I think maybe it's a little less so now, but that's been the biggest change. What you mean, the setting [45:07] in those right on, this is the most beautiful family beach. I'm a customer. There's no doubt about it. [45:17] And so, God bless, good for us. [45:21] Good afternoon. [45:23] Thank you guys very much. [45:24] I'd really appreciate your coming here. [45:27] Thank you, Mr. Loves, for joining us. [45:29] Thank you, appreciate it. [45:31] I'm doing a time and part of the past. [45:32] I'm going to question for sure. [45:34] So, I... [45:36] Anybody in the crowd have a story to share, [45:39] or a question for anyone I'm here. [45:44] It's a little funny when there's a couple of John has to follow him to look and be [45:49] in the written. [45:51] Look at him. [45:52] We first came 1978, so many of you remember Jack Burns going out in the end, that little [45:59] guest house who is still there, and we were competing for a place to get on on New York, [46:04] I'm a colleague who grew up outside of Portland, [46:08] recommended Jack Burns, all of it was available [46:12] as I guess out. [46:14] So I have to letter in my house here, I'm going to bring it. [46:18] He wrote me a technology in my deposit, [46:20] said there was a grammar, this is to acknowledge [46:22] you $45 deposit, and then he said, the second paragraph, [46:32] Tell us if to your comment. Please tell Mrs. Cranbert that she needs to live in within the towel. [46:41] One other thing, some of you remember a family that lived in my house for 46 years, 45, 45, 45 years, but a name of proud. [46:52] Oh, sure. Pastor Riley was in the beginning before they get back to the island. [46:56] So, a couple of weeks ago, a reporter and I were watching TVSA in a clock at night, [47:01] and there's a knock on our screen door, and it's this woman and she says, [47:05] let's in there's 30 more crazy people saving in front of her house. [47:10] And we knew that the Froth family may show up because John Prell, the week before said, [47:17] So the whole family, she rented four different homes, and we're 30, one of them, we can [47:23] write it in the main bar, Laura, Laura, John, Angela, Angela, was the oldest. [47:29] Does someone send in? [47:31] I don't know. [47:31] I don't know. [47:32] And then another problem. [47:33] Yeah. [47:34] Yeah. [47:34] And their children and grandchildren. [47:36] It was, it was truly, I've said that some of these systems, the most unbelievable experience [47:41] I've ever had came from, was eight o'clock in the night, eight o'clock, when we go, I look at [47:46] this person standing at my door and I don't know her. [47:51] And she said, well, I'm so so, and the one who's mine, [47:55] you're like, man, the house, and you know, [47:59] can you imagine how they'd cut me back up and I'd have been on the couch already. [48:02] I'm saying, oh my God, it says, you're nice. [48:05] Oh, I have some of the relics. [48:07] I didn't think they came in all of the day. [48:09] Oh, oh, sure. [48:11] But they were up and down in the house, checking out. [48:13] One of them said, oh, this is the hole I had, and I used to sneak the rope down, and see what my parents, this is what my parents want to do. [48:23] I think it's fascinating for us. I mean, to understand the history of the house. [48:29] We're one of the handful houses that have a full stand-up basement. [48:33] When Pral, what the house there was no basement? [48:35] He lifted up the house and built a basement himself, a grand son. [48:43] Those of you who watch the Yellowstone or Marshalls, the young boy. [48:47] The thing is that he's taking on the cell. [48:51] He was in the house. [48:52] He was the great-grandchild of John the squirrel. [48:57] His father is the CEO of the Buddha culture of any of you. [49:04] It was just in the little boy's head, but it's probably show me where you got that scar. [49:09] You know, there's a part of the place. [49:12] I don't know where you want them. [49:13] Sorry to be so good. [49:14] That's awesome. [49:16] That's a great family survey. [49:18] Hi. [49:19] Some of the new cover here to you guys. [49:22] We did a first set of coolant on through this rock. [49:24] About 100, almost 40 years ago. [49:29] a couple of years later after a son arrived, we came back and started [49:33] wrecking. [49:34] We're back for about eight or nine years and finally said, [49:37] we can't bring our dog and that beach cries out. [49:40] I have a dog to walk on. [49:42] So we've got somebody up up in the Christophe Highlands [49:44] that we're thinking to hear help. [49:46] But there was one other house there across the street [49:48] from where we bought our land. [49:50] I think that we did that earlier. [49:52] But what's to your suggestion, how quiet it was, [49:56] even if you could walk down that road in Bredark from my team when we came up shortly after [50:01] we had finally got to the house field. It was off season, like sometime in May, [50:05] it would be four or more a day and we'd come up with our dog and we saw them one of his friends. [50:10] That of course, the dog that's sprayed by a stop. And there was nothing like the big box [50:16] stores. Any of that stuff in the software there. I can't even think of it anymore. [50:20] months, so I got elected to drive to South Portland on my one place that a drug store that was open [50:26] up to Sunday night, and I drove out to Sunday night in the off season. There was not a life [50:37] in anywhere, there was no other life song. I remember I went out to the center and went out [50:43] your barber and up to new bit of her. And I have to confess, I more or less [50:48] genuinely left it than the sub-signor. That is what I'm going to say. I had [50:52] like it. And then all of a sudden the little light came on. And then it was a [50:58] kind of, can you book sports by this? I've been sitting right there. But it really was. [51:04] It was now you've been reading, and you're looking at around the B.O.C. and we're here [51:08] Now, 12 years old time, let me hear full time. [51:12] And you drive around now. [51:14] And it's not reach to 50% mark. [51:16] But there was so many more people here who are living here [51:19] full time. [51:20] I think how did talk people that they take from it here [51:23] and work remotely, why not live in a beautiful place [51:26] like this? [51:27] And in addition, I think more people like us [51:30] retired to a place that we didn't want to go to Florida [51:33] or something like that, we wanted to be a place [51:34] to be loved. [51:36] And we don't mind moving to here. [51:37] Thank you very much. [51:38] I think the change I see, and this is, you know, started coming here 40 years ago, that [51:45] you said, I think they'll back then, my observation was, and I saw them, of course, you [51:50] know, grew up at the community center, and it was, saying, more or less the same families [51:55] that would come back every summer, whether it was from the whole summer when I came back, [51:59] you know, throughout my heat, they had every summer when we finally bought the state. [52:03] We're as nowadays, it's much more valuable than more people, but there are more people [52:09] for whom this is, oh, let's just try this place this year, or we've, you know, been [52:13] advertised become more famous around country for many reasons, and so I think before it was very [52:22] much appealing to me and me now, I think that's been wounded and broken by some more transients [52:28] Which is fine, I hope they... [52:33] May I have the information about it? [52:47] The experience for kids on the beach is pretty much what it always was. [52:54] I hope that my ice cream goes well again. [52:58] The experience for kids of the beach is, [53:01] say, is there always what they used to be here for all [53:05] some of the mother and then I have to serve some of them [53:11] for the month and for a couple of weeks, [53:13] but they still here and they're still enjoying it the way we all did. [53:21] I have a few memories that go before me. [53:26] I have a picture of my mother, her twin sister, two years old, and my children, and [53:38] They are outstress the last one, going to the very fire, going to the fire, going to the [53:50] and bring things, remember that you're on and have a clue that they just go out to the island [54:03] and then back and they pretend to capsize and come up with their heads underneath and [54:09] wait to be rescued. [54:13] Was there anyone to rescue them? [54:15] No, no. [54:18] They took the toll on to the island to play the fragments there, [54:43] we had the same experience as [54:45] I'm going to play frisky. [54:46] Yeah, we play frisky, too. [54:47] That's nice. [54:54] Like, [55:12] I'm a writer for [55:21] my life. [55:22] I've missed a little bit while I was in college. [55:25] But my mother and father came up here and they were on their honeymoon, [55:32] early 1940s, like [55:36] 1930s. [55:37] They've gone along to the entire coast, and they were off in the long top, and they're [55:43] out on the faith. [55:44] And they got here and I'm almost at this place. [55:49] And they came back every year thereafter. [55:54] We say that the close and the Japanese college [55:57] on the West End, and they did for a couple of weeks, [56:03] almost every summer. [56:06] So I think that picture is the, this is Paul on the beach. [56:11] And [56:14] after the fire, [56:19] Jeffries made my dad a call [56:21] said he only said he wanted to buy some land and the good drops and now is the time because [56:27] on the last day in the hole, he was going towards that's an old right hand side was owned by [56:34] just a very few people, you know, it was in the mouth at that time. But it was after the fire because there [56:41] was nothing left. And some of that came up in solid, dark, dark colleges. It was still one [56:48] I've been on the beach for a while and what I've heard is truce, music run by a lobster [56:58] from Archie, so I kind of mentioned various store, some are here to remember, which is [57:07] no longer here. [57:10] There's a lot of changes and changes and norms, just the physical changes here, the observations [57:20] about a lot less light, but a very light is true, very biologists by trade, so you're for a [57:28] long time, and it still has a lot of the charms, to give them a little proud of them. [57:35] I want to say [57:46] it again, if you haven't, you should kind of bring it up, so you're going to bring the store, you see, you know, 0.7, 0.8, 0.8, 0.6, 0.7, you can get a character in the square, for example. [58:38] We have a lot of our stories about it. [58:43] We have this white egg carrot juice. [58:45] And you mentioned a very store that we did right across the street dance, give me 50 cents. [58:50] I buy a hot dog friend fries and a cold, A&W Root beer out of one of those stands, the barrel with the spagan on it, had a soda bar. [59:00] It was an actual soda bar there in various, with some of the best, some of the guests ice cream going in. [59:06] it was, it was a realster, not the general store, it was a wonderful store, but that was [59:10] Bunchy's gas station, and that was my first job, not being a job at 13, 14, I'm in gas. [59:17] It's not, I'll say, correct, that's all we got. [59:20] I don't know, yeah, I'm just, yeah, gas and cigarettes, let's say good old little dick butts. [59:25] Lord, I said the photo of Bunchy, yeah, yeah, you know, what did up front, what? [59:32] almost, back at both the house in 1964, $16,000. [59:41] And I don't see that in my family. [59:43] And I'm telling you what I'm doing. [59:46] I'm telling you, I have a deal of cost card station during the war, it's right there on the [59:50] paper. [59:50] So with Jack Insender's super expensive. [59:53] I don't know, but people thought it was crazy. [59:54] I had absolutely crazy money, so it's gonna wash away and be there. [59:59] Yes. [1:00:01] I'm going to put a house on board that you want to hear. No, our family house was a barn. [1:00:08] That, man, is the same as Judge George, please. And if you haven't go down, I'm going to benefit on [1:00:15] Clifford Road, is go to Sapo. The first, the first street is called Judge that you have to [1:00:20] that one is George and the third one is Klee. [1:00:23] And he was a man that my grandfather bought the house from. [1:00:29] And when he bought it, we had no shower. [1:00:31] He had one bathroom. [1:00:33] And my mother would give me a cake of soap and say, [1:00:35] go out in the ocean and have a bath. [1:00:37] And that's what we did, that's what we did. [1:00:42] That's what we did. [1:00:43] Yeah, that's what we did. [1:00:45] And as John said, when we were kids, we all had jobs. [1:00:50] And we all, it's 14, 15, I was 15 years old, and we're dead for a smell. [1:00:57] I had no such a security number, I drove my grandmother's 19, 37 dogs. [1:01:03] They shipped her with those like, I'm just going to say a couple of things. [1:01:11] I worked at what's on the rocks, too. [1:01:13] But when it, he already put the little meat and eggs on the back, so we actually sold food. [1:01:18] So, um, but that was in summer of 60-80 or 60-90, not sure. [1:01:23] How was that? [1:01:24] I just want to say, we talked a lot about Archie Smith, and his house was directly across from the house. [1:01:32] That is the house. [1:01:33] That house is still abandoned. [1:01:35] His lobster business was run out of a shedding hat that was directly on the creek. [1:01:40] And he took water out of the creek to high tide to keep the lobster. [1:01:44] All of the shit that's still there. [1:01:46] The shit's still there. [1:01:47] They moved it and they cast it up in the air. [1:01:49] They had to hold it. [1:01:50] That creeps got so much water. [1:01:52] And then that's all. [1:01:52] And then that's all. [1:01:54] Everybody, everybody, you're large. [1:01:55] Everybody knows he was going. [1:01:56] I want to hold on to you. [1:01:58] And did weren't you telling me, Wes, that he would [1:02:01] row the door out to catch his thoughts. [1:02:04] Yes, we did. [1:02:04] I'm going all in my hand. [1:02:06] He would say it too. [1:02:07] No, he's the same. [1:02:08] I wish he would go all over. [1:02:09] He else would go all over. [1:02:10] What do you want? [1:02:35] I want to thank you guys, this is really fun, thank you guys for participating, thank you guys for coming. [1:02:49] Thank you very much.
