[14:33] able to uh secure that that bid for us.

repeatedly calling 911. we fill
[18:33] excessively for noise complaints and
that are being unfounded. And so, uh,
[18:40] we've done, you know, neighborhood
canvases to check with other neighbors
[18:43] to make sure they're not experiencing
these same things. But just kind of we
[18:46] get the feeling and other municipalities
have had it too where we there's certain
[18:50] individuals in town we feel like they're
trying to weaponize the police
[18:53] department to attack their neighbor who
they have just a simple disagreement
[18:57] with. So um just kind of using this
verbiage so that we can go around with
[19:04] the neighbors make sure that they are
all not experiencing this particular
[19:08] issue that is being repeated repeatedly
reported to us and being repeatedly
[19:12] unfounded.
So what we've done is like chief said
[19:16] we've added in the language regarding a
reasonable person normal sensitivity
[19:21] such that somebody who might be hyper
sensitive to noise or someone who is not
[19:27] reasonable cannot then use the ordinance
to complain
[19:33] in unob circumstance. This is the exact
same language used in the city of eaten
[19:38] rapids. It's the exact same language
used in Virgin Township. It's used in
[19:42] many alities across the state. It's a
reasonable person standard instead of
[19:48] kind of a glac statement of solid 50
feet or 50 dB or
[19:53] » right because because 50 feet, you know,
different noises at different
[19:56] » times of day,
>> different decibels at different times of
[19:58] day regardless of the distance.
Any reasonability is a better state.

neighbors air conditioning unit
[20:09] continuously kicking on
that point to me is very amazing.

does this change the way that your
[20:21] department still operate at all?
>> Um they'll still respond. It's more so
[20:27] if we get too many uh we've documented
how you know in certain situations where
[20:32] we can get 20 50 even over 100 calls. Um
and then the person who is being
[20:39] targeted in those situations will then
come to us. We want to file harassment
[20:43] complaint. And so in those
circumstances, we we could, you know, if
[20:47] they foyer the reports or the field
contacts or make a foyer request to
[20:50] dispatch about how many times they're n,
you know, this person's called 911 to
[20:55] their house. Um, but I mean, we'll still
respond.
[20:59] Um, but it's just more of an enforcement
issue where uh if we do our due
[21:06] diligence and investigate it and we find
that, you know, it's unreasonable, then
[21:10] we're not going to take action. It's not
that we won't go.
