Will everyone please rise for the pledge [0:51] of allegiance [0:55] to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it [0:59] stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice [1:04] for all. [1:12] Before we begin, I would like to uh announce that former alderman [1:18] uh from the seventh ward, Mr. Sam Bullock passed away. [1:25] Uh we're preparing a resolution, but at this time I would ask for a [1:31] moment of silence and then I will go to the colleagues if they have any [1:34] comments. So, at this time, can we have a moment of silence for the life and [1:39] memory of former 7th W Alderman Sam Bulock? [1:51] Thank you everyone. Alderwoman Phillips not only has been [1:57] communicating with the family, uh, but Alderwoman Phillips, uh, if you have [2:01] anything to to say regarding, uh, the services. I do have, uh, the date for [2:09] Autooman Phillips. >> Thank you, mayor. Um, I did not receive [2:14] that information from his granddaughter. [2:19] [screaming] [2:27] Okay. I [3:16] didn't have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bulocks, but I've heard nothing but [3:19] great things about him. So again, I just like to offer my condolences to the [3:23] family. Thank you. Thank you. >> Thank you, Alderoman. [3:29] » Any other colleagues? If not, we can wait till the the family [3:34] I'm sorry, Alderman Garden. >> Thank you, mayor. I share those same [3:37] sentiments. Uh we're just extending our prayers and condolences to his family. I [3:41] do remember him serving for a short period of time. So, we're just thankful [3:45] for his service and we uh to the residents of Cal City. Um we're [3:50] definitely praying for his family. Thank you. Thank you, Alderman. [3:56] Again, we will the city is preparing a resolution for Alderman Bulock and his [4:00] wife and his family. Uh so we will have that at the next meeting uh to present [4:06] to the city council. [4:09] The next item uh before we go to roll uh before we go to public comment. So just [4:15] want to announce that today uh we started negotiations with two unions. [4:21] Um, in those negotiations, uh, were Clerk Figs, um, Alderwoman [4:27] Phillips, Alderwoman Nelson, Alderwoman Wilson. Uh, we also had city [4:34] administrator Deianne Jeffrey, we had Cleo Jones in the meeting. We had u [4:39] » Jericho Thomas >> Jericho Thomas in the meeting. So, we're [4:42] going to report back u at the next meeting when we have uh more to report [4:47] on for the union negotiations. the union negotiations with was with local 700 and [4:53] with local 150. So, uh we we started the process and hopefully we can uh get to [4:59] some agreement with these two unions uh to have uh some semblance of what the [5:05] unions want and some semblance of what the city council wants. [5:09] » Yes. >> So, we'll report back to that. But I I [5:11] think we had we had a great start today and we're going to keep it going. [5:16] Uh the next item I'd like to report on is uh for Michigan City Road. Uh I think [5:23] Matt reported on Michigan City Road, our city engineer, a while ago, but Michigan [5:27] City Road has been completely resurfaced and redone. So it's from uh M Torrance [5:35] Avenue all the way to Stateline Road. Is that correct, Matt? [5:40] » That's correct. >> And what was Can you step to the mic, [5:43] Matt? the total cost of the project and uh [5:47] it's done now but the total cost of the project [5:51] » um I don't have that a sorry >> sorry um I don't have that uh [5:57] information available but I can get it to you but the project was from Torrance [6:00] Avenue all the way down to Stateline Road uh it was a Cook County uh [6:05] partnership project Cook County led the uh leading the the project it's a smart [6:10] overlay uh should provide the road a serviceable life for at least the next [6:16] 10 to 15 years easily and uh we're very happy that uh to have that partnership [6:21] with the county on that. [6:25] » Thank you. Any questions of Matt? If not uh let us do uh our public [6:31] comment, Matt, and then we may have to bring you back up during the meeting. [6:36] At this time, let's move on to item four on the agenda, which is public comment. [6:40] Is there anyone from the public who would like to comment on any item on [6:43] this agenda? [6:48] Is there anyone from the public who would like to comment on any item on [6:51] this agenda? [6:55] Seeing none, just for the record, we have not received uh as of 10:00 a.m. [7:00] today any electronic requests for public comments to be added to the agenda. Does anyone have any questions around items 71 through six as [8:28] submitted? >> I don't, but I have new business if if I [8:32] um it's nothing uh to vote on. I just wanted to know if after the meeting I [8:38] could take a look at the uh office uh the city owned property down the street. [8:44] I think it would make a good uh automatic hub um where we would have a [8:50] place to talk to our constituents, maybe set up some computers. Um that way we're [8:55] not on the street or in someone's house or, you know, after hours being here. Um [9:03] if if you don't mind us doing that, >> we'll definitely make sure you guys get [9:07] in it and get keys to it. >> And take it by office. [9:16] The clerk just offered her office up down. [9:18] » No, she don't like us down there. But >> you guys can take the clerk's office [9:22] space. >> Yeah. But it helps prevent some of us [9:24] are sitting in the car trying to send emails and stuff just so we won't go [9:28] home. Then also too a reminder, we were supposed to take a tour of the building [9:33] across the street to get information so we could can we get that going? That process has began [23:35] again and um look forward to seeing them in your alley. But everybody has to have [23:41] to be held accountable. We have certain individuals on some of the blocks that [23:45] will not cut their uh own trees or take care of their own area. We can't just [23:51] hold one side accountable. So, we're going to be knocking on doors. Um [28:24] Came City Chargers this weekend is the home opener. Uh [28:30] Hammond Indiana has once again opened up their doors to the Cal City Chargers. We [28:36] are in talks with our own school district to find out why the children [28:40] who live here, pay taxes here, cannot use the fields here. [28:46] Um those who have contacted my office about walking on the track at TF North, [28:53] um that is something that we will ask that school board, but we also encourage [28:59] you to go to school board meetings because you elect those folks who [29:03] utilize your tax dollars. [29:08] I think that's all I have. It's so much going on in my head, but um I do want to [29:15] say that Director Thomas gave me a list for sidewalks. So, we do have that.
