[0:05] It's fine. [0:16] We're now [0:27] kill [0:33] box. [0:48] Hello. Hello. How are you? [0:57] comments. [1:04] Thank you, sir. [1:09] Stay out there a little bit. It's fixing to dump. [1:15] I think we got plenty the other day. Yeah,  I think we did. Texas closed I guess right [1:40] okay I guess we'll call the meeting to  order [clears throat] first thing on the   [1:44] agenda announcements any announcements no the only  thing I'd really is our junior golf program summer   [1:53] programs are full force right now. We're in the  this week was our third week of the junior golf   [1:58] foundation on Monday and Tuesday um days um full  if you've been to any of the courses during that   [2:04] time. There's 8,000 kids. It's awesome. Um first  increased their programming so they got more kids.   [2:10] We're doing um we did the hook kid snag classes  are going the um uh summer of discovery where we   [2:19] bring different kids from our rec centers that  they come and visit of course [clears throat] um   [2:24] so we've got those going at text today we had  a few at uh math last week so uh junior golf   [2:30] is definitely very strong in full force right  now we're looking to probably have about 1,800   [2:35] kids come through our program a different various  programs so that's Good. That's fun. Fun. That's   [2:42] good. Uh, next thing we have is public comments.  Oh, yeah. Okay. Got several several questions   [2:53] here. Would you mind just so the microphones  pick you up? Maybe you can set here if you   [2:59] want. Yeah. Just I want to make sure you you're  clear on the recording. Thank you. Excuse me. [3:08] [clears throat]   [3:14] You like to state your name? Was Mark Adams? I'm  a member of a Dirty Dozen golf group. Forgotten,   [3:24] I guess. Um, Jesse answered my first two  questions today. Um, I was at text the   [3:31] other day talking with Steve and he showed me  on his computer how when one selects a tea time,   [3:37] there's a little box, you can X to get the  second T time reserved for you. Of course,   [3:43] I saw it and he showed me how it worked  on the computer, but I've got an Apple   [3:47] and a Windows side by side and I can't get  it to work on mine. And speaking of that,   [3:51] the program does not work on the Windows at all,  as I'm sure you all know. Uh, golf witch program   [3:59] won't even download on a Windows program. So, if  you've got a Windows at home and not an Apple,   [4:04] you can't get into the program. Got Windows  here. We got something in some something's   [4:09] wrong there. I've got nothing. I've got five  guys that can't download work on computer. What   [4:17] do you It's there's nothing to download. You  just apply other than the app somewhere. Well,   [4:25] the app is for a phone. The app is designed  strictly for a phone. Either Android or   [4:29] iPhone. Okay. What do you have for the for the  computers? Now, we just go to the website. It's   [4:33] a website. So there's no there's nothing to  download. You just go to golfwitchto.com.   [4:37] Okay. [clears throat] I'll pass that on to my  guys. I've got it on my phone and I've got it   [4:43] on my iPad. No problem. Yeah. Any any device will  work, but it's not meant for a desktop or laptop. [4:52] Answer some of those questions. [4:56] Exactly what groups are allowed multiple key times  at each golf course. I know there's a men's club   [5:02] at each course that's allowed and a women's club  is allowed. What else is allowed? There's each   [5:07] club if they have the participation, it has one  men's club, one ladies club, one couple's league,   [5:13] and one senior league. So those those clubs are  allowed two days at their designated course,   [5:20] not a rotation. So if Auburn has men's club,  they their days are at Auburn Hills. assume   [5:26] men's leave. Their days are at 7, but they're  designated. They're open to they're they are   [5:34] the designated leads, not groups leads for those  courses and they are anyone can sign up. That's   [5:39] the the kind of the policy with that. Anyone  can sign up for those. We have a contact on the   [5:44] website for those leagues where they can sign up.  So, um it's not just a group that play together.   [5:49] It's actual organized leagues that the course has  designated as official leagues. the groups the the   [5:57] groups that can book multiple tea times go through  your the you got to register right I think that's   [6:06] what he's the leagues are established for the for  the year the groups you got to go through so yeah   [6:12] so the leagues they can book in advance we we'll  set the calendar out for the whole year because we   [6:16] have league days the groups are have the ability  to book multiple tubs uh which is what you guys   [6:22] will qualify qualify as So you can I mean I've  got a ton of groups that do it. So we need to   [6:29] sit down and figure out what the issue is there.  I've got a lot of groups that do it without issue.   [6:34] So I mean I've been working with you for what it's  almost two years now and u and now with the once   [6:40] the new program came online we can't get squat.  So I'll get with you on that. Yeah. I don't know   [6:45] what the you saying you can't do it. What's the  reason you can't do it? That'd be nice to know.   [6:50] No I'm asking what is it? What happens? there's  not a place to do it or you can't you can't find   [6:55] tea times or there's something a tea time here and  a tea time there. We can't get tea times together   [7:02] and we're really consistent. We play Monday,  Wednesday, Friday have been for over 20 years. So,   [7:08] I know we've talked, but let me back up just for  a second and tell you where this came from is the   [7:13] massive amount of complaints we had from so many  people saying that there are groups that get tea   [7:18] times in advance all year. I understand and we  have individuals that can never find a ton and   [7:25] you pay the same amount for the same membership.  So what we're doing is making sure it's everyone   [7:30] is is equal and you have the same the same access  to those tons. you go through the same process,   [7:36] but you would have the ability to book  multiple team times when available,   [7:42] which when you play it's I mean we play Monday,  winter, Friday, we try to get around 9 between 9, [7:51] the early days. Well, it's odd to me that you  can't find tea times back to back at that time   [7:54] during the week. I can go online. We have to  get up at 5 in the morning 4:58 in the morning.   [8:00] So 5:00 we can get it. And by the time we hit the  first one and and Steve was trying to show me the   [8:06] other day, there's a little box, but I can't find  it on mine. But uh by the time you hit the first   [8:12] one, they're gone. The rest of them are gone. And  you can't get to back to back. Sometimes I'll get   [8:17] one with a tea time in between, I don't have a  problem with that. We get to the golf course, we   [8:23] get to the guys in between us and say, "Hey, you  want to go you want to go early? That way you can   [8:27] get us back together." that works even even two  tea times separate will work for us but sometimes   [8:33] I get the one tea time and they're nothing that  thing fills up so fast it's ridiculous and and   [8:40] that's good for you not for us we need to maybe  what do you have a laptop what do you use to book   [8:49] times what kind of demotion kind of on my iPad so  if you could bring your iPad and let's sit down   [8:56] and look because there there's something you're  not seeing it Are you set up as a group? Your guys   [9:01] group? We were, but because I had two, we had um  Dirty Dozen and my one my email address and hasn't   [9:10] been for 30 years is golfing the fool at Cox.net.  For a while, we had no problem getting on as   [9:19] um the dirty dozen. But for some reason, and  and you know, Jesse explained it to me a little   [9:26] bit earlier that maybe with this new program  because we have the same you can't use the same   [9:31] email for two different accounts. We can only  So we don't have 8,000 duplicate accounts like   [9:36] we had 52,000 accounts and only 17,000 were  legit. Yeah. And I understand that. I just   [9:41] I wasn't aware of that. I understand that prop.  So now and most of you may know if you had Cox,   [9:48] it's now Yahoo. and I'll just get a yellow email  and see if that works or not. So, right now he   [9:54] can put them in his name. That's how it set up.  So, you have you can you can book them. It would   [9:57] just be your name. But if you want a group account  so that the same one, they can log in and do that.   [10:06] We can we can set that up. Right now, we've got  three of us that get up and I get up on Mondays,   [10:11] Russell on Wednesdays, and Daryl on the Fridays to  get the tea times. But when we can't, our backup   [10:17] is always Cheney or Sand Creek. Like Monday, I'm  playing at Cheney because we're playing at Cheney   [10:23] because all the courses are shut down in the  morning for something next Monday. The groups,   [10:30] don't they identify one person as the the the tea  time getter? Yeah. So So having three guys trying   [10:39] to get off of Monday, Wednesday, Friday, that  could be Could that be part of the problem? No,   [10:44] use different names. So he's Monday on Monday. And  I understand, but your group is supposed to only   [10:48] have one person who can get multiple tea times.  We don't have a group now, dear. They knocked us   [10:53] out. We We have not talked you out. No, we've not  because the email is not your fault. It's because   [10:59] the email would no longer happen. No, your group  is there. You're saying he's saying the account   [11:03] of called Dirty Dozen instead of his name is not  there. Yeah. So we we signed in under, you know,   [11:09] my name on Mondays, a different name on Wednesdays  and a different name on Fridays. I'm old. Yeah,   [11:16] this get over 458 in one and hoping to get a  tea time, but that's not not to say it wrong,   [11:25] but that's the same issue that everybody's got it.  Hundreds of people complained about last year and   [11:32] now a lot of the groups are having to do that  and they are understanding, but also obviously   [11:38] obviously no one likes it. No one likes So yeah,  I I was with one of the pros um last week and [11:52] this he was trying to find out what tea times I  had for that week. And then we look in there and   [12:00] we see one group on Saturday has got nine tea  times. Now, with the exception of tournaments,   [12:07] what's the justification of one group having  one group having nine tea types? It's probably   [12:11] a league. Who where we at? Oh, this was at  Arvin Hills on Saturday morning. That's the   [12:17] men's league. That's not They don't play during  the week. We play Wednesday and Saturday. Every   [12:22] other Saturday, not every Saturday. 19 times  on Wednesdays and 19 times on Saturdays. [12:31] But that is a league. That's not a  group. that's uh open to anyone can   [12:35] join. It's what we were talking about.  It's the designated league for Auburn. [12:41] Saturday morning, I mean, we went back and  forth on that. Um we we did it every other   [12:46] Saturday instead of every Saturday at this  time. Well, I I [clears throat] I appreciate   [12:51] that. But [snorts] the reason we don't play on  Saturday is because we let the we leave the tea   [12:55] times to the people who have to work all week.  They got a league on on sat on Saturday morning   [13:01] taking nine tea times. I would hope that most  of those people have jobs during the week and   [13:06] that's the only time they can back. But that  that seemed awful curious. Nine tea times on   [13:15] Wednesday morning the senior league here has  probably more than that. Senior league here   [13:19] is 110 people. Yeah. It's you know again that's  different than a group. that's a an actual link   [13:28] that run by the course and they can sign up  and it's open to anybody. So it's that's the   [13:35] the difference there. One thing I've noticed and  this is just beside anything else. You know when I   [13:43] see a group of guys out there playing they're all  over that dog golf course but you get ladies out   [13:49] there playing they're rather organized but none  of this all over. No it's just golf that's why.   [13:55] Mhm. That's every aspect of life in my opinion.  That's not just golf. No, you're right. Um, [14:05] you're right. 55,000 rounds a year on  a public golf course. So, I understand   [14:11] what you're saying. This morning, 5:00 to  make a te time for next Tuesday. I got in,   [14:17] first one I could get was 750. I went back  to get another one. The next one I could get   [14:21] was 950. Yeah. It was like like that. They're  gone. They just go so fast. I I mean I don't   [14:27] know there's a perfect answer for it. I'm  just But I I I feel what you're saying and   [14:32] I I totally understand it to me. The only It's  not perfect. The only answer is make sure it's   [14:38] the same for every person. Yeah. That's the  only I mean yeah which is what for everybody   [14:43] that's we've lost four golf club four golf  courses in the last decade I guess it is   [14:50] now. [clears throat] And uh that's really really  clogged us up. We lost McConnell, we lost Clap,   [14:57] we lost WSU, we lost Ego Hills. Call it Ego  Hills because it was so easy. But still there   [15:05] four courses in the immediate area. I just got  to live with this stuff. And the last thing [15:16] I guess we've already covered it is that our  groups existed in one form or another for 20 years   [15:22] and the only reason somebody leaves our group is  because they die or they get disease and to get   [15:27] in my group you have to be 65 and you have to be  retired and you have to play two or three times   [15:34] and see if we like your personality. you you throw  the golf clubs, you're not going to join us and   [15:39] want you. But it's just so pretty. All right, you  need to teach. But I'm I'm done. I've been just   [15:47] whining right now. I feel like I'm whining instead  of just giving something y'all can address. Well,   [15:52] let's uh let's take a time and sit down. You and  I bring your iPad so we can make sure there's   [15:57] nothing on the website technology side that's  holding you back. [clears throat] I don't I don't   [16:04] want that to be part of the issue. Let's make sure  everything's the way it's supposed to be and then [16:11] hopefully they'll I meant to bring it today,   [16:13] but I'm just too busy trying to  print the stuff out. Forgot it. [16:21] Yeah. I mean, it comes up it comes up almost  every meeting. The demand is just bananas. And   [16:28] I mean that's at that's at every public course.  at every private course in the area. I mean,   [16:32] it's it's crazy. The country clubs, sand creek,  bikini, everywhere. It's took off. Boom. It's   [16:41] just I had someone last right before left on  vacation, but had the thought, the belief that   [16:49] one person complained and that's what triggered  this whole deal. They generally thought it was   [16:54] only one complaint. And I tried to explain like I  had to go in front of city council numerous times   [16:59] because they were getting so many complaints.  That's not because I volunteered to go and talk   [17:03] to city council. I promise. I'm a firm believer  of the place where the complaints is right here,   [17:07] not the city council. What? Anything that  seems with something you can work with,   [17:13] you have to take it to them. And I always  never could understand back to my whiny   [17:21] cloud park was my favorite was my favorite  park. My buddies always live in the ditch.   [17:25] I never did. They had just redesigned  it and re refurbished the clubhouse and   [17:30] gotten bathrooms with three toilets in it. This  one's got one. This is supposed to premier be   [17:38] the premier course in town or public courses  and it's got one. I can't tell you how many   [17:43] times Jerry has snuck into the ladies. [clears  throat] He's gonna get caught today. [laughter] [17:52] But I I understand there is one downstairs in  the basement, but u there's room in there. I   [18:01] know there's cost, but there's room in that men's  bathroom to put in two more stalls. And I don't   [18:07] know how you survive when it's a tournament  out here. You only got one toilet in there.   [18:12] I I agree. It's terrible design. I think yeah,  the cost is substantial and then trying to   [18:18] prioritize. It's we we've got it on a list.  It's just trying to Where does that fit in as   [18:24] far as priorities when we're trying to spend  all these everything that cost $50,000 a pop,   [18:30] which is everything. I know you're spending  a million plus doing the aerations on the the [18:39] Thank you. I know you're doing that  and everybody is maintaining the   [18:43] courses a lot better than  they used to be. It's just [18:51] blind enough. I'll go back to my chair  and be quiet. [clears throat] Well,   [18:56] are you going to stick around for the meeting?  I'll get with you before I leave. Figure out.   [19:01] Um I I leave about five minutes. I'll go get my  iPad and come back house now. You want to wait?   [19:08] Uh, you're gonna be until 6. Till we'll be in  the meeting till 6, but I'm gonna have to leave   [19:13] pretty quick after that. Okay. But I can do it.  Let me know when to see you. I can find a time   [19:17] tomorrow. No problem. Okay. Tomorrow. What time?  I'd have to let me get through this. I do have a   [19:24] tea time tomorrow. Where am I playing tomorrow?  Let's Let's figure this out after the after the   [19:29] meeting. Tomorrow. And Steve might kick us off the  course, but I'm going to text tomorrow. Thank you. [19:40] Okay, next thing on the agenda is uh approval of  the minutes. Did everybody have an opportunity   [19:45] to go through? I think we had a couple of months  worth there. Yeah. And I actually forgot to put   [19:52] one of them on the agenda. We had um March  17th the meeting. No, it was March, April,   [20:03] and then the special meeting. I sent them  all three to you. these on. Yeah, I have an   [20:09] opportunity to glance through them and but as far  as I can see entertain a motion to approve those [20:22] second. Okay. All those in favor I motion car  heard from Yeah. So I can I saw him about a   [20:35] week and a half ago playing but I haven't  heard he said he wasn't going to be able [20:43] okay do we have a we [20:56] next thing financial [21:00] have the copy of the financial  front here from the city. Um, [21:10] go through this and then we'll  see if you have any questions. [21:16] Okay, let's see if this works here. So,  this goes through May. I think we're good. [21:24] Right. Um looking at rounds, we're um from last  year we're up about 10,000 or 9,000 rounds. Um   [21:33] mainly do we're really close to where we're  at 24 and that's mainly because last year   [21:37] the the weather was so bad during the winter  months. So uh really strong strong start to   [21:42] the year. May alone we're we had a little more  rain than last year this time of the year. So   [21:50] u 20 20,000 just over 20,000 rounds um in May.  Um, last year we had a couple thousand more,   [21:57] but I don't think we had much right at  all in May. I think it was April. Anyway,   [22:02] u, so strong month there. The, uh,  cart rentals are way up this year,   [22:07] up $110,000 this year in cart rentals with the  extra rounds that were done overall. And just stop   [22:13] me at any point if you have any questions. Uh,  food and beverage is up a little up what 25,000   [22:20] um, over last year. So just small increases every  year. Uh my goal this year is to try to get 50,000   [22:26] up over what we did last year for that community  here. So we're on a pretty good pace for that.   [22:31] Pretty happy to get there. Jesse, on the food and  beverage, do we do computations like um average   [22:38] average expenditure per round kind of thing? Yeah,  I can get you all that. I don't have it off the   [22:44] top of my head. It could be next time even. It  doesn't be this. I would just be interested to   [22:48] see the rounds are up as well. So, I'm wondering  if the dollar amount spent per person is up. Um,   [22:56] yeah, and figure that out. I could I could do  that math if I wanted to. Yeah, I could do it. [23:10] 251 [23:17] to the treatment. 20 26. Yeah, you got those two.   [23:23] The far left palm. Yeah. 20. I need  25 and 26. Oh, you need 25 and 26. [23:32] Yeah, I got them. You got these numbers. [23:47] Pressure on. They'll have those in just a sec.  All right. Driving ranges are are doing extremely   [23:54] well. Um even with the rain um really Texas has  been I mean you can see it's it's insane how busy   [24:04] they are. Same here. Mac is up. Uh Mac is always  a little bit weird with the timing because first   [24:10] Steve gives us a check at the end of each month  and sometimes they're after the first. So uh   [24:14] kind of we're definitely up. I think we're up a  little bit more than what that shows at max. So,   [24:19] uh we do have a lot more first TE programming this  month. So, they're they're going to when they're   [24:24] doing programming, the range is closed. So, uh  that's it's going to take a little bit of a hit,   [24:28] but it does every year. Merchandise sales  were those guys are up about 20 $21,000 for   [24:35] the year. Um Steve's up 11,000. He's been doing  demo days, which have been pretty well for him   [24:42] with demo outside. outside. So, yeah, and I think  you got another one coming up which is full. So,   [24:49] uh really really good participation there.  Total revenue uh we are up $350,000 this   [24:58] year over last year and in the month of May  alone we hit $99,000 which is a record mark   [25:04] biggest month we've ever had. So, um, even  with the the change in the programs and the   [25:09] I think we went 12 11 days on the old program  and then the rest of the month on this program,   [25:14] um, there was definitely a little bit of revenue  that we lost just because something wasn't working   [25:19] and we aired on the on the side of the customer  during some of those transactions. So, uh, really   [25:24] obviously biggest month. I'm very happy with with  that. What's membership look like? It's good. It's   [25:31] strong. We He's getting new members like crazy.  Um, yeah. No, we're we're up. I need to start   [25:38] putting those back in here. We're probably the  highest count we've had. I would be sick. Yeah,   [25:45] I think we probably have more members right now  than what we've had any time up in here. So, [25:51] okay. So, that's [clears throat] that. And then I  don't know if you've had a chance to to look over   [25:55] this. I sent an email, but um there's nothing  really. Our expenses are up a little bit. We're   [25:59] putting a little bit more. Um it's a lot of  timing issues. A lot of the um chemicals and   [26:06] different applications that we've bought for the  course. We did a bulk order at the first of the   [26:09] year which saved money but we did it all at the  first of the year instead of spreading it out. So   [26:14] uh they're higher now but as a year goes on  that level off as we won't be buying what we   [26:19] bought in the later months that we did last  year. Um our flavor costs are up a little bit   [26:27] which is expected and not a bad thing. We have  a little bit. We're not where we want to be,   [26:32] but we're closer this year than we were last year.  Um, especially in maintenance. For some reason,   [26:38] maintenance has had much more luck this year  finding people, which is huge, obviously. So,   [26:44] um, that's that's been a little better this year.  Um, one thing I'm not sure of, I've tried to get   [26:49] an answer today. Our fuel cost is way up this  year compared to last year, and I don't know the   [26:54] reason for that. It's some kind of timing or I I  don't know. There's no way we're up that much. So,   [26:58] I've got to figure out why this reflects that. And  then one more thing to note on here on the capital   [27:04] equipment. Um, we charge a couple of pieces  of equipment to the general fund that will be   [27:09] transferred to the the equipment fund, but it's  not the debt transfer hasn't been done yet. So,   [27:14] it's showing as an expense here that will  be taking. Is that what the 85 is? I think   [27:18] that's what cont 85,000. That's clearly not  corresponding budget. That's right. Yeah. Okay. [27:30] So, all in all, pretty pretty happy where we're  at. I think um with a lot of the expenses being   [27:34] frontloaded this year, as we keep going, our our  profit net revenue is going to going to continue   [27:40] to go up a little bit quicker than what it could  last year for the second half of the year. So,   [27:46] banquetss and stuff been out here. I'm making  a little push for that last year. Yeah,   [27:51] we've honestly kind of slowed down a little  bit with that push just because staffing. Yeah,   [27:55] like I I don't I don't feel good about having  an event and two days before the event we have   [28:00] someone that's crushed us with a wedding and we  have no idea how we're going to execute it because   [28:03] we have two people work. So, um yeah, we've kind  of slowed down a little bit on that. If these   [28:10] two didn't come in and help, there would have  been a couple of disasters out here this year. [28:16] Okay. Any other questions on [snorts] [28:22] to answer your question, Marcia?  It was just under $125 and it's   [28:27] 1225 and 20. So we're about to about  same a little bit higher. Thank you. [28:39] [clears throat] [28:39] Continuation of prior business open board seats.  Okay. So we have the the two seats that are open.   [28:48] I'll start with the kind of aronomy specialist. Uh  that's as we've talked about many times, that's an   [28:54] extremely difficult position to fill and I've  had no applicants that really have golf course   [28:59] experience. We tried to reach out and find with  no interest. Um I did have an application online   [29:05] u from Miss Jane Alderson. Um she plays in the  business women's league at MAC. Um talked to   [29:11] her on the phone. Maybe when I see her, I'll  recognize her. But um she has over 20 years   [29:16] experience in environmental um engineering, storm  water design, all the like I feel like we we have   [29:23] a good grasp on grass. Some of the stuff that  she is an expert in, that's where we, you know,   [29:28] we storm water drainage. That's not really  our world. So um she was definitely I talked   [29:34] her on the phone for a while yesterday.  She's definitely extremely interested.   [29:37] The issue with her is the only night she cannot  come to a board meeting is Tuesday nights. So,   [29:44] um she's by far in my opinion of all the  applications I have for that specific position,   [29:48] she's the most qualified. Uh but we would need  to as a group decide if we want to try to pick   [29:54] a different different day. I'm sorry. Did  you say last name is Alderson? A L D R S O   [30:01] N. Okay. because that was not what you asked me  about. They were probably talking into it. Oh,   [30:11] probably. Do you know her? Not even with the  name change, but [laughter] but I but I asked a   [30:19] few other people just to see if anybody knew her  and nobody did under the name. Oh, yeah. Which   [30:24] worried me just a little bit, but maybe they would  know her under that other correct. Yep. Sorry. Um, [30:35] is there a possibility to maybe have one of our  superintendants come on board because they would   [30:43] know so much about the grasses and I mean in  this area because they've all done this for   [30:50] years and years and years and they kind of have  the expertise of I think or is that I think the   [30:58] point is for this board to guide the employees  so that would kind of be the employees got. Okay.   [31:03] Okay. I just I just was curious because they  seem the most knowledgeable about Yeah. Yeah.   [31:09] particular subject and yeah maybe not God but get  feedback and bounce ideas off but I Yeah. I don't [31:20] um [31:27] I just curious. Yeah. um turned into a staff me  pretty quick. Just get old staff on this board.   [31:36] No. Um so yeah, I just with her background  and her experience and she plays golf and   [31:44] it's definitely eager to try to come on and help.  Uh I think she'd be a great addition. I just the   [31:50] the hurdle was the time Tuesdays would not work  for her. So if this is the only time we have,   [31:55] I can let her know. We can we can try to  go a different way. But I wanted to float   [31:59] that out and see. I know it's not easy  to get seven people that all have a day   [32:04] every month that works for everybody's  schedule, but um I don't even know what [32:14] Monday trying to avoid. We don't know  there's leagues and different things,   [32:18] but if we switch to a Monday with the  third Monday instead of third Tuesday, [32:26] I personally could probably Monday [32:31] or Tuesday. Yeah. [clears throat] What'  you say? You better check with the boss.   [32:40] You don't [clears throat] know  what you can do yet. [laughter] [32:46] will be done by six. You'll  be able to make it up by 10. [32:52] Anybody on the left side of that? Yeah, the  the one I'm looking at strong um he's been   [32:59] here several times. Kent, he's the parkboard  liaison. He's the barber, but he also has an   [33:04] online golf store that that he's ran for a lot. Um  I'm sure you remember him talking about. Um he has   [33:11] definite interest and he plays a lot of golf at  all courses. So he's very familiar and sees them   [33:17] all a lot. Um and he plays with JV a lot on the  council which I think is a benefit. Is that the   [33:22] gentleman that saw him with the park board? He he  reached out immediately and asked if there was a   [33:28] way he could transfer because this is really he's  on park board because he wanted to be involved in   [33:31] golf and that's a very small part of park board.  So he he wants to be on this board. I think he's   [33:36] uh think he has the knowledge in there. He  he plays so much golf that he sees a lot and   [33:45] talks to a lot of people familiar with how  the city operates as well. Right. Right. I   [33:49] I play with him text and so he didn't know  I was on the board till I came. Okay. I saw   [33:54] him the next time. I didn't know you were  on board and I was like yeah I didn't. So   [34:00] he was like I'm really trying to get over from  this side to this side. names explained to me   [34:04] and so yeah he's he's good guy one one thing  I've taken from him that I like is even if   [34:14] we've made a decision that doesn't benefit him  personally he's always quick to say well that's   [34:19] for everybody that's me it's not just looking  out for himself which I certainly appreciate so   [34:26] uh yeah so those are the two going through the  application the different things through the two   [34:30] that I I liked personally Um just again that that  holder but if we can change it to Monday and I'll   [34:37] figure out how that works. If we can change it to  Mondays and everyone's okay with that, we can do   [34:41] the third Monday and then I can I can let her  know about them votes in the next meeting and [34:49] there's a I got to figure out council has  to approval. I think I put them on a consent   [34:54] consent agenda or something. I'll figure  that out. Um and then the next meeting we   [35:00] would need to elect officers and then probably  need to get sworn in again. Uh I think we're   [35:05] actually we need to we need to make sure  next meeting we'll handle all that stuff.   [35:11] get this one in again. Elect officers  and hopefully have to board yourself [35:21] questions about seats. You said we went to third  Monday, right? That's what I Yeah, let me I'll   [35:30] I'll email um everyone and let me see what all  who's involved in that because I don't think   [35:36] there's a date or anything in the BS. So I don't  think there'll be any change. Just some bubbling   [35:40] on this one. We'll be good update the website for  more. Okay. Moving on. Uh irrigation updates. Good   [35:51] news. We um went through the RFP process with the  irrigation design um firms and we selected less   [36:01] hill irrigation of just outside Houston, Texas. Um  I go to council on July 7th, but he's wanting to   [36:08] come up even before that and go ahead and so he's  gonna come up Mon Tuesday and Wednesday of next   [36:13] week, spend one day he's spending Tuesday here,  Wednesday at text. Um and he's going to just kind   [36:19] of do what what he does and we'll we'll spend  most of the days on those two portions and then   [36:25] uh he's going to go back and get started on the  design. And he's very eager to move this process   [36:30] along so that we can meet the timelines that we  need to meet to get this done. both of them. So   [36:36] we we went through a long interviews with three  different firms and it was unanimous that that   [36:42] that's that was who everyone on the selection  panel liked and that's who we're going with. So   [36:48] um so far conversations have been great. Um and  I'm I'm very happy that we're we're going to be   [36:53] moving forward pretty quickly. So is that they  large enough to handle both projects? I know   [37:00] they probably simultaneously. So all he does is  a design and then from there we use his design   [37:06] to bid out the work. Okay. So we're going to  bid those out separately so that if one firm   [37:12] has the capability to handle both they can bid  on both and get it or we don't want to limit to   [37:18] people don't bid because they can't do that. So  we'll bid those out separately. Should be pretty   [37:23] clear pretty quick process and he'll part of his  job is he oversees that bid process as well. So,   [37:28] uh, yeah, we should be should be pretty, uh,  pretty smooth hopefully from from here on out.   [37:33] I think the hardest part was just getting the  ball rolling and then from now it just kind of   [37:37] you just follow the steps and keep keep it. So,  and and Mac is completely done. Completely done.   [37:44] Locked up. Yep. Buttoned up. They're out. Uh, Mac  is really changed a lot over the last month. Um,   [37:53] we did have some pizza parts on the greens over  the past week. um while I was out there. I've got   [37:58] some pictures in a minute I'm going to pull up and  you'll see Mac is it's come a long way from where   [38:03] it was at 3 months ago with all the work that was  out there and where when we played it last time   [38:07] it was not there and it's way better now. It's  amazing actually how far it's came. I know you   [38:15] talked about they were going to oversee with blue  I got Yeah, we're talk about that too. Sorry. No,   [38:24] you're good. Yeah. Um, I'm very excited  about that. We'll get into that in a minute,   [38:27] but yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Uh, any more  questions about irrigation comments? [38:36] Good. Okay. On to automated mower mechanics.  I think last time we met it was right before   [38:44] I went to Waw Country Club to demo  the uh the Toro, the the big mower.   [38:50] um spent I don't know over an hour  out there with them and it's got that   [38:56] one on the right. Yep. On the top  right. Um it's definitely cool. Um [39:04] there's a lot of good and bad which is true  with all of them. Um the setup I think is   [39:12] not the easiest thing in the world. They  said once they got through the first two   [39:16] months of headaches now it's working pretty  good and they kind of got it figured out. Um [39:25] I don't [clears throat] I don't know that it's  quite there yet for what we're trying to do. I   [39:30] mean there's so many it's got to have a path to  get from one spot to the other. Wtop Country Club   [39:35] is so confined in that spot that it's easy.  It has paths to go. When it gets to a bridge   [39:39] it will not cross a bridge. So, they have to  go. Basically, it sends you an alert saying,   [39:45] "Hey, Dad, I'm stuck. Can you come get  me? You got to go out there." Has a spot   [39:49] that it pulls over. Um, once it finishes  one hole, it sends you a message saying,   [39:55] "I'm done with whatever number four. Am I clear  to go to whatever you have program number seven,   [40:00] whatever." And so, the purpose of that,  they want you to drive the area prior,   [40:05] make sure there's no puddles, make sure there's  no winds, whatever down, which is good. Um, so [40:15] they were trying to be nice. I don't  know that they were 100% thrilled with   [40:19] all the work they've had to put into kind  of felt like they had spent more hours than   [40:24] they would have if they would have just  made the fairway. But now going forward,   [40:27] I think it seemed like they had a pretty  good had it set up pretty well. So,   [40:31] um, I don't know. I just feel like that bigger  mower maybe is not quite there. And the more I've   [40:38] researched and talked to various superintendents,  there's a lot of frustrations with those. Uh,   [40:43] so they use uh RTK technology as far as navigation  and GPS satellites. Do they also have cameras and   [40:52] sensors and stuff on there that will pick up  objects or whatever and not? Yeah. Not golf   [40:59] balls that'll just push those, but anything  bigger. Yeah. I don't remember what it said.   [41:04] 8 in I play guitar I think is what he said. Um  and it will it'll stop and it'll actually skip   [41:10] that and come back and follow that same  pattern. Um it is pretty neat some of the   [41:14] stuff you can have the entire golf course where  the mole lines are exactly within a quarter of   [41:18] an inch same across the entire golf course.  Pretty cool if the trick I guess. Yeah. Um, [41:30] and like when it hit a low, like it was pretty  neat. It's pretty intuitive. Like it it did a   [41:36] there's a lot of really cool things about it. Um,  it's like a 50 or 60 inch wide slot. That is 60 I   [41:44] believe. 60. It's It's the exact mower we use in  the some of like the Greens Mowers and everything.   [41:51] It's just the It's got the automation on the back.  So, um, what kind of price are we looking at for   [41:57] that one? 145,000. And like I mentioned last time,  we they have that they offer in that plan where   [42:03] you can rent it monthto month for 4500, I think,  and then if you purchase it that every dollar you   [42:12] put goes toward purchase of the machine. So, um,  I just feel like you would need it at least three   [42:18] months before you even knew if you liked it or  not, just because it's going to take forever   [42:21] to do it. Do they have any uh antennas or line of  sight that's needed for this to navigate or is it   [42:33] he knows it's now he said if there were big trees  that it could be a problem again country close   [42:40] fairly open but he said there are a couple spots  even on that course that they've it's hit that   [42:44] just kind of don't know what to do so you get an  alert um so they again had to reprogram the route   [42:51] to avoid a couple of those places. So, yeah,  back with the many trees that are there. Yeah,   [42:57] I'm thinking of course and saying, you know, Sim  is fairly tight to where you would think it could   [43:03] get from one to 10 or you know, like salmon tax  would be very easy for those pretty well side to   [43:13] side. There's no big ponds road nothing like that.  Um, so let me show you this real quick. At Mac,   [43:22] we've got the It's not one of these. The next  mold, the smaller mower. This is a picture of Mac   [43:28] from Thursday, I believe. Um, it's hard to see,  but it does the lines and he started he's probably   [43:34] put in I don't know, eight different zones now.  And each he'll just take carry that to that zone,   [43:40] let it loose, come back, move it to the next,  whatever. ates this on a little trailer. It   [43:44] takes five minutes and it he's been doing all  the around the practice areas. He did the first   [43:48] tea area here that's better without the slide  here all around the clubhouse. I mean it's that   [43:59] really that's mowing like rough, right? That's  uh I mean that's a Yep. And we actually bought a   [44:06] second one of these. It was delivered today.  So he's going to expand. Um he's looking at   [44:12] areas that are kind of close together. Four or  five green 5t box that area. Um he's looking   [44:20] at several different areas but does a phenomenal  job. And these cost about just under $5,000. Um [44:30] definitely when you pull up and see that  it looks a lot better than straight line.   [44:37] What's the mode time on that one? I mean,  can it go hour and a half, two hours? [44:46] Have to come back and charge. It does.  Um, I've looked at some of these. [44:53] Hold on. Let's see. [44:59] Or's got another one like this,  but it's got a 90 minute. Um,   [45:04] it can go for 110 minutes and then it needs  to charge for 90 minutes. These, I think,   [45:10] are a little bit longer and it's not enough.  So, with these, you actually have a charging   [45:15] station out there somewhere. So you would have  to have infrastructure to have electricity in   [45:21] several weeks. He brings it to the shop.  So when it when it needs to be charged,   [45:28] it lets you know. He just brings it. He just  brings them over. It's just a tiny trailer   [45:33] that it fits on perfectly. Yeah. Well, I I have  seen some things online about some solar powered   [45:39] chargers now that they're they're getting to where  we're applicable for some of this stuff to where   [45:44] you don't have to have the infrastructure with,  you know, electricity and stuff out everywhere. [45:53] Yeah. I mean, that's one of the [snorts] one of  the main issues at the port is you're going to   [45:58] have to have electricity all over the course.  You're going have to have stations all over   [46:01] the course. uh you're bringing in unfortunately  in our world potential vandalism and who knows   [46:09] what see him today doing a course right around  and the three of the team markers were stolen   [46:14] today [snorts] got to a where are the blue  T's he's like they're not there so two of both   [46:20] blue team markers and one of the white markers  [snorts] um so if you put a $5,000 machine I'm   [46:26] guessing it's probably going to get stolen too  or kicked or broken or busted or who knows what   [46:31] Yeah. Tag on them or something. Yeah. And they  have um GPS tracking built into them. So we we   [46:41] would know where it's at. But we I know there's  a story I think we've talked about in it here.   [46:46] It just they tracked it to the department, but the  police were like, we can't we know it's in there,   [46:51] but good luck. Can't do anything about it. So, um  does make a nice line. Yeah. I mean, I don't know,   [47:03] honestly, probably five of these. We could It  does a lot. It does a big area pretty quick,   [47:09] a lot quicker than what you think. Like, you  watch it and then you quit paying attention   [47:12] for 10 minutes and come back and it's knocked  out a huge section. Just non-stop goes. So,   [47:17] so just have those little 6 in  blades like the crest thing. [47:25] You said five maybe. Did you get that idea for  the areas that we There's some areas that it's   [47:30] not going to do great. So, we'd still mow a lot of  the areas, but we could have the zones that we've   [47:34] kind of identified that this would be good at. We  could probably add five of these and it would do   [47:38] almost half the golf course if we know I was just  surprised by that number a little bit because I   [47:43] played a tournament at Reflection last week and  um I know they had a lot more. I think they all 22   [47:52] what I heard. Yeah, I believe that they were going  constantly. Yeah. [clears throat] Yeah. How did it   [47:57] look up there? I'm g try. It was beautiful. Yeah.  Except we were of course commenting that the rough   [48:03] was really deep um [clears throat] and tough. It  was dense. Yes. And somebody said, I don't know   [48:10] how much they knew that because the the clippings  all down in that that's one reason their rough is   [48:16] so dense because they're constantly being cut and  five that is. But I do know that it was well to   [48:24] get the ball out of that rough. [laughter] I  played last year before they got these mowers   [48:29] and it was hell to get That's true. That's true.  We've been down for a long time. I was this far in   [48:35] the rough like 11 hoes in a row. Yeah. And I held  him with that myself. Yeah. Trying to hit over a   [48:41] bunker. Good luck as well and stuff. So anyway,  yeah, I think um it was in beautiful shape. I   [48:49] mean, I know we've had a lot of rain and there's  a lot of good things that have happened for grass   [48:53] growing, but those mowers do keep it real sharp.  Yeah, they're so precise. It's unfortunately you   [48:59] can't you can't keep a cut to a quarter of an  inch. He said, "May that's perfect." That's Yeah,   [49:06] just like that guy from Chris said that one time  when he was up here. I think we asked him if it   [49:10] could bow us apart over here and it was a little  bit taller and he said no. He said it's more of a   [49:14] maintenance type mo than a cutting stuff down.  Well, that's the thing. Sometimes you couldn't   [49:20] tell where it had been. It was doing the up and  back thing and I was like, you almost couldn't   [49:25] tell where it had been. They're cutting it that  frequently. Yeah. If you get a huge rain and it   [49:29] some reason you can't get them out there think  it's too wet in the grass where you're probably   [49:32] going to have to knock it down to that level and  then put them back out. So, yeah, there's they're   [49:37] not you can't just 100% walk away and think  you're you're done mowing rough forever. But,   [49:43] they definitely do a good do a good job. So, I  don't know. I said update on here. I think just   [49:49] I'm I don't think those big machines are quite  where they're going to end up yet. And I just   [49:57] don't want to spend 150 grand to next year the one  we want comes out. And I [clears throat] feel like   [50:05] a lot of the little ones cost you more. Yes.  Yeah. Yeah. And the technology is just getting   [50:11] better and better and better. It's it's going to  get there where you want it, right? pretty quickly [50:22] too with the irrigation [50:27] spot that all take care of. [50:37] Yeah. Um the last two are  the big two. So we'll see.   [50:45] So we're on the for Mac for another 60,000,000 [50:51] something like that. [clears throat]  What we have left 600 600 33,600 [51:02] hypothetically you can knock  that one out like you did soon. [51:12] Yep. [51:15] Okay, I hope that's an option at the end of  the year already discussed. [laughter] So,   [51:21] where are we on these? What is the next step?  Or are we still just conjuring? Yeah, still   [51:27] I mean I think I want to we're going to add the  second one at night tomorrow and start getting it   [51:31] set up and then they do have a we have 9 in this  again if I'm giving you correct information. Uh [51:48] Yeah, 9 in. They have the same mower we  have in a 14 in. Um, it's just not much   [51:52] more. It's a 1500 more. Um, so we're looking at  probably if we expand going to that bigger unit   [51:59] just so it's obviously it's going to cut the M  time down and get a lot more done quicker. So,   [52:04] um, yeah, I would like to Ron's all he's all  in on he's got really good at setting this up   [52:09] and so he a couple weeks ago he or I don't know  a month ago he started working at adding zones   [52:15] to the one that we currently have and he did it  enough and messed up enough he figured out how   [52:20] to do it pretty pretty good though. So, um I I  kind of want to just turn him loose on let's get   [52:25] two or three two or three of these out here and  see if we like that and we can keep expanding.   [52:31] I mean at some point if they really work we  could go on in spend 60,000 and have several   [52:36] weeks going. The thing I like about these are is  that you you don't leave them on the course. We   [52:42] bring them into the shop. I just don't think leave  it on the course. I don't think they last a week   [52:46] without some kind of problem. So this is one by  four and five. Is that what you were saying? No,   [52:53] that that's where he's going to add next round  for right there in the corner where you pull in   [52:57] to the golf course. So as you pull in, you'll  have me that first impression is big and that   [53:03] that would be a good spot for it and it's  perfect for this thing. So Okay. Uh but yeah,   [53:07] right now he's got all the practice area, the  first T practice area, all up practice area   [53:11] around the um clubhouse. Both practice screens.  Number 10 T box behind number one T box number 17 [53:22] may be all he has right now, but that's  one mower at the moment. It looks [53:32] I do like the letter. Yeah, number 17.  That That's a picture. I didn't pull out   [53:40] right. It looks He sent me a picture when  I was in Greece. It's awesome. So, yeah. [53:53] What's the brand name of these? Next. Next.   [53:56] Yeah. Okay. We get them through Run  Landscaping, which is their distrib. [54:22] Uh this has been ongoing for several months now.  We as if you play out here, you know our bridges,   [54:27] especially on three and seven. We have  two that are terrible. They're falling   [54:30] through. We got John Ho patch with plywood  and all that. We had engineers come out.   [54:35] Um of course that that front line is in a flood  plane. So anything we do has to be approved. We   [54:41] have that walking bridge. We can't even take  that out without them approving everything.   [54:45] We can't even go in and bust that out cuz we  want to make sure no debris gets in the creek   [54:50] that's going to float down where we don't  want to make sure we're not doing anything   [54:53] to the bank that's going to cause any kind of  disruption to that that flood plane the land.   [54:58] So it's just not the rails on that walking  bridge. The substructure underneath is part [55:08] the concrete underneath the the dirt should  be to the end. It's about 4 and 1/2 ft back   [55:13] right now. There's just concrete suspended  in there with nothing to pull it up. So,   [55:18] it was as soon as that was looked at, it  was immediate shut that down right now. So,   [55:23] um yeah, and we're we're going to take it out.  Um it would have to be completely rebuilt and   [55:27] replaced anyway. So, we're going to get it cut  out. Um so, I'll go to that in a second. The   [55:33] cart bridges, we're going to just They did look  at every the substructure, everything's fine and   [55:37] just the top need to be needs to be replaced.  So, we're working on getting uh contractors   [55:44] Seven. Yeah, seven and uh three. The second  ridge on three. Those are the two we're going   [55:48] to start with. Um so, uh we're working on  getting a contractor to come out and and   [55:53] do that work. I have no idea what to expect on  the cross yet. Um hopefully I'll have that by   [55:59] the hopefully I'll have somebody out by the end  of the week and hopefully next week that um have   [56:08] we ever considered putting a foot bridge between  three four between six and seven? Uh five and six [56:19] cut through those trees. Yeah. And people walk  bridge not a cart bridge. Right. I've never seen   [56:28] a lot of walking for some of the people out  there. We haven't talked about that. Well,   [56:32] we I mean for a new since we're city, we have to  follow everything. We have to even though it's a   [56:38] foot bridge, we have to have engineers and it's  it's not a it turns into quite an expense. You   [56:44] wouldn't think you would think something you could  do for five grand ends up being 55 grand. So,   [56:49] um no, I Yeah, that would cut down a lot for the  walkers for sure. That impact me carving. Yeah.   [56:56] Everything with the cows we have to go through  engineers. Yeah. It's just Yeah. And that side   [57:01] or maybe not the bridge if we put one five six  but everything over there being deploy makes   [57:06] it so much so much more complicated. Um so yeah  we're going to get the contractors on the those   [57:12] two bridge get that the top load replaced those  should be fine. The walking bridge is going to   [57:17] going to go. So get permanently we're not gonna  we're not going to try to replace it. I'm gonna   [57:23] get into that. So, I'm going to get your opinion  on something. No, you're sorry. It's not clear on   [57:28] here. Um I understand walking that's a long way  around. So, I've got Yeah, we'll get to that in   [57:38] a second. Yeah. Um I'm I'm hoping what I've come  up with would be a better solution than trying to   [57:44] replace that bridge where it's at current. So,  I'll get your opinion. We'll get to that here   [57:48] in a second. So, yeah, update on the bridge. We  don't have to replace those. I was really worried   [57:53] they were going to tell me the cartridges we're  going to have to completely tear down and replace,   [57:56] which would have been astronomical, but  we're not going to have to do that. So,   [57:59] that's that's good enough. It's good. Is there  anything that we can replace them with that   [58:05] doesn't deteriorate with weathering stuff like any  type of composits or TX type material? Anything   [58:12] that maybe would last longer or better? If we  do that, we're replacing Well, I don't know. [58:25] is the subure underneath those all wood.  Um, yeah, there's a concrete base and then   [58:32] wood from there. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, yeah. I  mean, that's something I'll ask the contractor   [58:37] when they come out. What are our options here?  Let's see. I I don't I don't want to tell you   [58:41] guys. I I don't know. I don't know what how you  I don't know what you need underneath that stuff   [58:46] and forward it to your old. I would assume  you could, but I don't know for sure. Yeah.   [58:50] that track stop material would be fantastic.  I'm pretty good friends with a guy that owns   [58:56] it's called Lynx Bridges. They're out of Canada,  but that's what they do as golf course bridges,   [58:59] both walking and cart bridges. And they they're  prefabricated in one piece and they come in and   [59:04] set them and install them. Um they go up to 53 ft  long. It's their longest bridge, but it's all that   [59:10] composite attraction material. So once you put  it in, you're pretty much in your lifetime again. [59:25] We're looking at this picture here. I  think I jumped ahead. I think that's a   [59:28] little bit big. Definitely did. Oh, don't look  at that. Okay. [laughter] [clears throat] No,   [59:34] that's all on the on the bridges.  I'll talk about this in a This is   [59:37] number seven out here. So, at Auburn. So,  I'll talk about that in a second. That's   [59:40] a terrible terrible. Are you just Are you  sharing that right now? Yeah. Yeah. speak [59:50] said to me. Um, okay. Yeah. So, with the bridges,  I guess with the I'll have a cost by the next   [59:57] meeting or we may go ahead and move forward  and get that done. Okay. And focusing just   [1:00:00] on those two that you mentioned with those  are the two that need immediate attention.   [1:00:04] I think over time we can develop a plan where  we we started not not just here but all of our   [1:00:08] bridges are we did redid some at right when I  started that was already in progress. Smack has   [1:00:14] a couple that are okay. They have a couple  that need repair as a bridge tag something. [1:00:24] I got here [1:00:33] walking bridge. We're thinking maybe  just going away do away with that. Yeah,   [1:00:39] I'll I'll go on that new I'll go over that  plan and get your thoughts and and maybe I   [1:00:43] got two options here. either doing away with it  or moving the bridge to a different spot. So,   [1:00:48] let me let me show you my idea to  talk through. [clears throat] Okay. [1:00:57] Okay. So, that all for you know. Yeah. Okay.  New items for consideration cashless in 2027. So   [1:01:12] talking to the city, we are going to go cashless  in 2027. So we're going to push out notification.   [1:01:20] Um that's something they're wanting to do in all  departments. Of course, we take other than the   [1:01:24] water department, we probably take the most cash  of anybody or most payments of of any division. So   [1:01:30] um Tulsa's their golf division went cashless April  15th. I've talked to him. He said it was two weeks   [1:01:38] of just getting people to know that they're  cashless and then it's been great. Uh we have a   [1:01:43] lot of issues with cash handling. Um nothing major  but every day there's 10 bucks, 12 bucks, eight   [1:01:51] bucks in it. With the city, they think everything  should be exact. And some of my previous courses,   [1:01:59] if we were off $4, they've been like, "That's  awesome." Right. But the city, if we're off   [1:02:03] a penny, they won't be spend 22 hours looking  for that penny. Yeah. So, I think businesswise   [1:02:09] it makes total sense. Yeah. We're going to have  some folks like it. [clears throat] Yeah. We're   [1:02:14] definitely going to have some folks that aren't  happy. Uh we've even floated the idea. They have a   [1:02:19] u it's called a reverse ATM. So, for the first  couple of months, we could put a machine in there   [1:02:24] where you buy basically a gift card or [clears  throat] Yeah, it's a universal gift card. It's   [1:02:28] like going to deal and buy a gift card some um and  they would keep their window cost as they get the   [1:02:34] revenue the percentage of that. Yeah. The other  thing is you might think about getting ahead of   [1:02:40] getting it now ahead of this a little bit and  starting to put this out to people that it is   [1:02:44] coming. That's why we're sorry you interrupted.  That's why we're going to do it in 2027 January   [1:02:50] 1 because I want to do a minimum of a 90-day  campaign. So we're going to get all that together.   [1:02:54] We're going to start October 1st putting that  out. So we have three four months of blasting   [1:03:00] at last. Yeah. Getting used to the idea. I mean  I not everybody will like it but yeah business   [1:03:08] I think it makes sense from a business standpoint  man I mean I spend so much time on cash issues. U [1:03:18] more than I want to. Nikki's fantastic all over  her death, but we spend way more time than we   [1:03:23] should and way too much of her time trying to find  20 bucks that was missing from last Tuesday. You   [1:03:29] know, it happens every day. So, yeah. Um, and then  the training that has to go involved the I mean,   [1:03:34] at the end of the night, all the counting down  all the three registers trying to figure out   [1:03:38] what's what. Now, it's you put close credit cards  are all integrated. You can't you can't be off   [1:03:44] on the credit cards. Is that right? Yeah. Would  there be a possibility to put uh an extra tab on   [1:03:51] the receipt for a tip for the health or is that  I know the city's not big on tips. No, they're   [1:03:59] absolutely not possible. But but no, no, no. I've  talked to Mark Manning who's the head of finance   [1:04:06] and he is on board with it. He is his opinion is  we can figure this out. [snorts] Um he's like I   [1:04:12] don't see why we can't do that. So, we're working  through that. There's a lot of I think now with   [1:04:17] new management in the city. U that idea might  be received a little better. These these kids,   [1:04:23] they're young kids, they're not getting paid.  No. Anything. And I feel bad for I tip from   [1:04:32] giving cash. Well, we have people that get mad all  the time. They try to give a tip and we can't and   [1:04:36] they get they think I'm the one they're chosen,  you know, that we can't do this. So they get mad   [1:04:41] at me like bad. My granddaughter works at the uh  [clears throat] club concession area. She gets   [1:04:50] 10 10 bucks an hour and 8% of hotel. Yeah. Yeah.  I'm I definitely all for it. The only issue I've   [1:04:59] always had with that is you got a golf course  where you got whoever's outside cleaning carts   [1:05:04] and they're busting their tail out there. They  don't get they get their 10 gets 12 bucks an hour.   [1:05:10] somebody's in here in the air conditioner  reading a book and helping a customer once   [1:05:14] they're making 18 bucks an hour because  that's that's just that's the history it   [1:05:19] would it would be fine and I'm not advocating  the other way because I same I want them to   [1:05:26] get their opportunities the accounting pay  side of it would be fun but that's one of the [1:05:38] [laughter] The dumbest thing I've ever said,   [1:05:40] I don't know how any of this works. The  whole no tax on tips. Did that pass. So,   [1:05:45] do you pay taxes up front on it? And then  do you get a break individual when you [1:05:53] let me ask you how many people should [1:06:01] this scenario would be reported? Yeah. Yeah.  So like so like terine it's member charge it's   [1:06:07] reported on their cash but from the accounting  standpoint if somebody leaves a dollar tip does $1   [1:06:16] full dollar go on their check or is it taxed and  then it goes so that they get the full dollar on   [1:06:21] their check not No it's still taxed and then  they got claim okay so the city would still   [1:06:33] have to go through all those saying correctly.  [snorts] That doesn't help. Yeah. And again,   [1:06:40] once you go cashless and people are starting to  be accustomed to that and they get there and these   [1:06:45] these young kids need your tips, I mean you're  like I don't have any cash because you guys don't   [1:06:49] pay cash. That's been a fear of the staff with  even the management how we keep anybody. Yeah, [1:06:59] I I think after people get used to it probably it  will take a little while. The director in Tulsa,   [1:07:08] he said took two weeks to get through  some of the people complaining. He said,   [1:07:12] "Do you know what they did? They complained  and then they pulled out." But he said it's   [1:07:18] the best thing he said. It's like 20% of my job  just went away. I don't have to do it anymore.   [1:07:25] Nobody's got until the till afterwards or Yeah,  I think we said this made this comment last time,   [1:07:30] but I think think it'll make a difference in  people who want to come in and just buy a candy   [1:07:35] bar or somebody who wants just a soda. Maybe  they'll maybe they'll still be willing to do   [1:07:41] that. So, if you do that, then you have a certain  minimum amount of money you have to spend because   [1:07:46] there's going to be a fee associated with that.  When the fee is a percentage of the sales really,   [1:07:51] it's not like a per transaction fee. It's  a percentage. Um what he said he found is   [1:07:58] I mean younger people use a card for 52 cents a  trader but they some people will be like I want   [1:08:05] to use my card for $2. Can I give me one of those  and one of those sell more? Yeah. So you kind of   [1:08:10] upsell them. So I think the other part of that  is we don't have to pay guard right now. We pay   [1:08:15] guard the cash armor truck company. We paid  them a ton of money to do all of our pickups. [1:08:24] That's a big big expense. I get mad every time I  approve those in how you spend that money. What   [1:08:31] about if somebody wanted to come in and use their  credit card but buy a gift card for their spouse   [1:08:39] or something like that? Say, you know, I want  to put $200 on a card and I want to give it to   [1:08:44] to my wife or whatever. And then can they use the  gift card as a card still? Is that people buy gift   [1:08:52] cards just a little change and that's what someone  could do is they could just a lot of people that   [1:09:00] the reason they use cash is they can hide it from  their spouse. So they they could buy a gift card   [1:09:05] at the first year and I mean it sounds funny.  [laughter] It sounds funny, [clears throat] but   [1:09:13] you wouldn't believe how many wives think all they  pay is the monthly membership and nothing else,   [1:09:18] not knowing it's $15 for a card every  day. My wife just keeps track of that. Oh,   [1:09:24] yeah. She figures she can spend three times  that. She's my old girl. Casino bingo. [1:09:33] [laughter] Every time I complain, she said,   [1:09:36] "We spend the golf 450 a month.  Count the cards." [laughter] [1:09:48] me recording. [laughter] [1:09:52] That's one of the few things I'm quite vocal  about. She tells me to shut up. 44 years I   [1:09:58] know when to shut up. So, you're going to start  blasting that out in October time frame. Yeah,   [1:10:04] I'm working with our treasury. We got to get  the policies in place and all the, you know,   [1:10:09] the documentation up and then we're  going to start marketing information   [1:10:13] building. Yeah. And I think, you know,  word of mouth people watching. Yes. We   [1:10:18] think everything word of mouth gets out and  spreads and people will the first Facebook   [1:10:24] post that we make the comments will  be pretty entertaining. It'll be fun. [1:10:32] Yeah. That's uh pretty well was  decided last yesterday. The final   [1:10:40] meeting we've been we've had about  five meetings about it. Not just golf,   [1:10:43] but overall it's pretty well decided  there. So that's what's going to happen. [1:10:57] I [clears throat] was just thinking about our our  league. We do things well a little different than   [1:11:04] other leagues. That's what I brought up too. We  got guys that throw five groups that throw five   [1:11:07] bucks in and then they go buy a gift card winners  or what, however they do it. So I think there's a   [1:11:12] few things we're have to work through. We can find  a way to work. Yeah. around it. Yeah. So, anyway,   [1:11:20] uh any more thoughts on the cash slice thing?  Okay. Uh credit card requirement for online   [1:11:31] bucket. Something I wanted to do for a long  time. So, using City of Denver as an example,   [1:11:37] they have member sports. They require a member  obviously would not have to do this, but anyone   [1:11:42] that books a Ton would have to enter a credit  card. It doesn't charge them. It just it tokenizes   [1:11:47] it. Put it on file. That way if they don't show,  we can charge them for that time. Right now,   [1:11:51] someone doesn't show we just lost a D. And that's  a big complaint is I can't ever get a D time yet.   [1:11:57] When I do, there's nobody in front of me and they  think that we just didn't book it. Well, those   [1:12:02] people just didn't show up. We have no control  of that. So, we do lose a lot of money. I think   [1:12:06] we probably about it's hard to track because it  may rain one day and I'm looking at trying to get   [1:12:13] stats and I don't know what day it rain whatever.  So, but I I think probably around 12% best I can   [1:12:19] figure times that we boo or no shows. So, would  you then because example soi I don't want to book   [1:12:29] online because I have to put my credit card on  there and I'm not sure if my buddy's going to   [1:12:32] show up and I don't want to get stuck with that.  So I pick up phone and call up tea time and then   [1:12:37] I cancel. Would you still allow people to call  in or is that going to be the end of because it's   [1:12:42] going to start circulating just call in instead of  do that then you're going to start getting phone   [1:12:46] calls out. City of Denver on their website it  says call in Tetons will not be taken because of   [1:12:54] security issues. So they're saying they don't want  to manually take your card the phone. I get that.   [1:13:00] I think the the goal is to push if you're not  going to show up, you give us notice, you're   [1:13:04] fine. But if you just don't show up, we're going  to charge you. I think that would encourage people   [1:13:10] to actually care. Say, you have three people,  you put your credit card, you looking for four,   [1:13:14] one person doesn't show up, do you still get  stuck with that person? So, what we could do,   [1:13:19] so there's different courses that do it different  ways. There's that option where you just charge   [1:13:24] them whatever. There's an option where we charge a  no-show fee. So maybe it's half of your green fee   [1:13:28] or it's a flat $15 rate per per [ __ ] whatever  that is. And that's something we would determine   [1:13:34] not tonight, but we could determine that maybe  next meeting. You can set it up for whatever   [1:13:39] you want. Um, but right now there's no penalty  at all for someone that doesn't show. We lose   [1:13:45] so much and not just the revenue side. We lose TO.  We obviously value. How many times is it that they   [1:13:56] like if they don't show up they can't they got  policy book but even there the staff still has   [1:14:02] to be consistent and then every time you do that  that person calls Darius and has 12 reasons why   [1:14:11] that happened and I would say Dary is like I've  heard it before thanks for calling. [laughter] [1:14:20] So who's making decision and pushing the  button in charge and then someone shows the   [1:14:28] staff should do it there and then it system  will suspend them after two and then if he   [1:14:33] is to undo that suspension it'll call me and  say here's the situation we can do here. So,   [1:14:42] um, so you want 24 hours notice if someone's going  to cancel, say, or approximately. Yeah, that way   [1:14:50] you can do a 12 hour, but if they're teeing off  at 10:00 in the morning, 12 hours is one o'clock   [1:14:55] at night, you know, so 24 hours gives you that  whatever time they're teeing off, they know that   [1:15:01] time to do it for. [clears throat] And with this,  does our current point of sale still have that   [1:15:06] that feature of doing a blast when there's a time  that's canled? That should be it's in one of their   [1:15:15] next couple of updates, which they do every two  weeks. So, they're they're close on that. And I   [1:15:21] will say combination of those two would be pretty  successful at keeping us Yeah. full. Yeah. I think   [1:15:26] No, they're So, they're going to have a standby.  Yeah. And by the Yeah. Right. I will say there   [1:15:32] when they do their push out their updates every  two weeks everything they've said it you get as   [1:15:38] soon as you log in that day the screen pops up  and says we've released updates click here to   [1:15:42] see and get go through and read everything they've  done there. They're pretty good. I mean everything   [1:15:47] they've said so far has come through. So um yeah  I think here in the next few weeks we'll have that   [1:15:53] same. So did you say that it wasn't going to be  for membership people or something? Yeah, if you   [1:16:00] have a membership, we're not going to ask for your  credit card like we have it. I don't know. I mean,   [1:16:06] as typically that's not for members. That's for  Greenfield players. That's who we would have taken   [1:16:11] the money from. [snorts] You know what I mean?  So, if you showed up, if you didn't show up,   [1:16:15] we weren't expecting that money because you're  a member. Not saying we didn't lose that Taton,   [1:16:20] but members are not going to be happy. I got to  give you a credit card every time I book a Ton.   [1:16:26] So I think it's just for public public times  and that's who would have paid when they got   [1:16:34] here anyway. So and is [snorts] that going to be  a no human involved automatic thing or will there   [1:16:41] be a chance for extenduating circumstances  in a car wreck on the way to the course? No,   [1:16:46] you have to you have to mark it. Yeah, you have  to pay them. And that's good. Like if the system   [1:16:52] automatically did it and it starts raining, what a  nightmare that would be. That's exactly what I was   [1:16:59] saying. We get guys that call in in the morning  and say it's raining. I'm not counting that,   [1:17:03] you know, just not bad. The rest of us are going  to play that, you know, some people don't want to   [1:17:08] play in the rain. Well, some people can't do pads.  Yeah. Walking. There are definitely reasons why   [1:17:15] that happens. No show. No show will ever Yeah,  it was all that. It was 78 degrees, 5 mph wind   [1:17:23] and we had 8,000 people cussing us because they  couldn't get a ton and didn't. And now we don't   [1:17:29] we lost the T time and we lost the money. Okay.  And that's the most every golf course in this   [1:17:36] country. We're definitely on the back side of the  I like that. Yeah. and I've had to work with again   [1:17:47] with treasury and auditing and make sure that um  we're covering all the legal parts of that. So   [1:17:56] I think it's pretty simple. The good news is even  with the cashless I've got city of Tulsa and I've   [1:18:01] got a few other cities that have done it. So I can  kind of I don't have to reinvent the wheel. I can   [1:18:05] call these guys and hey send me everything  you need. We can tweak it and what worked,   [1:18:10] what didn't work. Kind of get that advice. Same  with the city of Denver. call Steve and we can   [1:18:15] get um all the everything they've got together for  their verbiage and everything for the credit card   [1:18:21] requirement so I don't have to start from scratch  what they tweaked it to fit our needs I don't   [1:18:28] mind stealing other people's just implement this  in case you know there you want to tag for the   [1:18:37] public they didn't do anything to members either  just the public okay Yeah. Okay. Makes sense. [1:18:50] Are we good with that? Pull up our beautiful.  Okay. Path on number seven and all. All right. I   [1:18:57] will say this picture when you're standing there,  this makes a lot more sense because when I pulled   [1:19:02] this up today trying to just get a visual for  you, it it doesn't look as effective as what it   [1:19:07] does when you're standing on the hole looking  at it. So the big problem is you know this is   [1:19:15] yeah so right now where am I at? Okay here's  the tea box. So you got the black te's blue   [1:19:20] here somewhere it's hard to see. So the look how  green that grass is. [laughter] [clears throat] [1:19:39] Okay. Where the green bridge is. Yeah. So  right now the walking bridge is right here. So   [1:19:45] as a walker you have you go here, you cross that  bridge and then you're at the green. Without the   [1:19:49] bridge you have to go way over here. walk clear  across, come around the spawn to the AT box, and   [1:19:56] go up. It's not showing the bottom of the screen.  Yeah, it's a long walk. So, what we're looking at   [1:20:01] is potentially having the cart path right here.  It would cut across between the the lot and the   [1:20:07] old I believe it is between those two two boxes.  Come here, and it would come straight down. So,   [1:20:12] as you walked, you wouldn't you would knock out  this whole portion. Again, when you're standing   [1:20:17] there, it looks way different and it's looks way  more effective than when you're doing this. So,   [1:20:22] you would come carts and walkers would come  right here and go straight to the tea box,   [1:20:26] park their stuff on the box, walk to the  green, putt, whatever, things like that. So,   [1:20:30] knock out all this section as a walker uh  without putting a bridge. The other option   [1:20:36] is if that's still too much and we still  have complaints, there's a section right   [1:20:44] here that or right here that's a lot smaller to  cross than it is over here where we're at. So,   [1:20:51] I wish we could go out there because this looks  probably doesn't even make sense to you, but   [1:20:57] um I don't know. So, we would do away with this  part of the path and then just have it come   [1:21:03] through here, which I I like the paths that kind  of cut the tea box in half. I think we don't have   [1:21:07] any of those here. Um, just a perfect thing. But,  [snorts] um, how far from the front T's? It again,   [1:21:17] not as far over here is what it looks. It's  probably right here. It would be beside those.   [1:21:23] It would be kind beside the T- left side of  the T-s as you're looking at the green. Yeah. [1:21:30] I almost want to get a car drive out there.  So you could actually when you're there it's   [1:21:33] like oh yeah that would be so much easier.  It would cut off that whole long walk that   [1:21:38] you have to do and then you would end up right  on the next T- box where you're at anyway. Um,   [1:21:44] if we did that without bidding a bridge,  we could do that concrete work probably for [1:21:52] 12 to 15,000 and um not have to build that  bridge, which would require engineering,   [1:21:59] everybody permits, and [snorts] 37 years of  paperwork to get done. So, I hate to be dumb,   [1:22:06] but about these kind of things. I am. So, they  would just jackhammer up the old one and Yeah,   [1:22:11] it's in, you know, it's got the seam. So you  you basically pull them up in those sections   [1:22:15] and if they break they break but yeah you just  do they can tear that out Bobcat in a couple   [1:22:21] days we just res those that are smooth out. So  if you did put in that n area and you did put   [1:22:31] walking bridge there that is almost in the line  of sight with the green and yeah that's the other   [1:22:36] thing I mean it would be a much smaller bridge  but yeah I don't really you still got to have   [1:22:43] I wouldn't put a bridge there plane that's my  opinion is at least start here try to do a no   [1:22:52] bridge and then if it's still major major  complaint we could figure out some of the   [1:22:56] To me, you're you're cutting  out 40% of the the issue that's [1:23:04] So, you think the the red line is a shorter  distance than the existing Well, without a doubt.   [1:23:11] Yeah. And Yeah, it is. It's way shorter. Yeah.  This is I don't know why this looks so different   [1:23:18] than when you're there, but it would be way way  shorter. And I'm sorry. Tell me again. Cost you   [1:23:23] said like 15 grand. Yeah, I'm doing that in my  head. I'm guessing on the yardage, but 12 to 15   [1:23:28] grand I would think based on all the repairs that  we did on the car. Really? That amazes me with   [1:23:35] the price of concrete. I would probably found out  today concrete is way cheaper than asphalt because   [1:23:40] we're trying to concrete trying to the where the  cars park on the back of decks there and there's   [1:23:45] a fencing area. It's holes. It's a bad disaster  mud and we're going to concrete that. And asphalt   [1:23:52] was tossing as much as I mean, yeah, asphalt  was tossed as much as concrete because there [1:23:59] is this a day worth, a week's work. What What is  that? We could lay the new car path in probably   [1:24:07] probably a week and then we'd have to take the  other path out. We got to cut all those trees   [1:24:12] out of there. No, it look down. No. What  do you mean? That's perfect. Texas. So,   [1:24:22] it's going to hug up the left side. It's going  to hug up the left side inside the tree line.   [1:24:26] Got And I only spent three hours on this.  Let's be fair. I didn't spend that much time. [1:24:33] [clears throat] No. Um, no. Where it would go,  it would there's a spot. The T boxes are a little   [1:24:39] bit different elevation. There's flat spot.  It would cut right through there. Turn along   [1:24:43] the the tree line and closer to the T boxes on  this. And you ain't the same place over there,   [1:24:48] right? Right before the bridge.  Right before the bridge shot. Yeah,   [1:24:53] we would probably probably have a  curb that on there to since you're   [1:24:56] going toward the creek and then just have  it gradually level back out. But yeah, [1:25:04] so when you're out there, look at this  and you'll when you're standing there,   [1:25:07] I think you'll be like, "Okay, do you need us to  bless this or what?" I'd like to get feedback. I   [1:25:14] don't think we need a vote, but I definitely would  like to get thoughts and opinion and maybe we look   [1:25:18] at it when you I give you time to put your eyes on  it. I will say obviously since I walk every time   [1:25:27] I will forever miss that whole bridge. That's  true. But um from a kind of pace standpoint,   [1:25:37] it's almost kind of nice to give that  group in front of you a little bit. I mean,   [1:25:44] fast, it's going to catch slow regardless. But  especially when it I feel like for some reason   [1:25:51] it gets stack right there pretty often. It  gives a at least a little when you get done,   [1:25:56] you get to you're like, "Oh, we're we're good."  Yeah. You're not waiting. There you go. I mean,   [1:26:01] yeah, there's always going to be logs when  I know. I guess I'm just struggling with   [1:26:08] uh just not seeing a lot of difference from point  A to point B where you're trying to go. I do see   [1:26:16] the color path as curve that's for sure. It's not  but it's definitely not substantial. It it's it's   [1:26:23] a I'm not seeing Yeah, I don't know. I would like  to go out and look at it though for sure. Just   [1:26:30] I think right now the main difference is you're  going to have to walk to you're going to have to   [1:26:34] walk here. Right now you're having to go around  where you don't have to do that anymore. You're   [1:26:37] going basically more in a straight line from A  to B instead of going around to get to B. It's   [1:26:41] going to feel a lot more efficient. I'm thinking  I mean I that that without bridge it would seem   [1:26:49] like a really long walk. Yeah, because I' I've  already heard about 50 people tell me about the   [1:26:55] bridge and can't remember the bridge. Can't  bridge. Yeah. Uh, another part I just imagine [1:27:15] here. [laughter] [1:27:19] We'll leave that old path and call it Randy  Alley. Yeah. A little room to land it up there.   [1:27:27] It's a good hold up. small. You got to take  the Greek out play. It's the whole thing. So,   [1:27:34] is it is the bridge in a similar area  to where it's at now? Is it just a cost   [1:27:43] issue or a combination of cost then going  through all the to do that bridge? We have   [1:27:48] to start completely over construction. So, the the  permitting, the engineering, all that stuff. Yeah.   [1:27:55] Yeah. I mean, but that does where it's at  seems like one of the narrowest places in   [1:28:00] that creek. I mean, I I understand what you're  talking about, too, on up here a little ways.   [1:28:05] It is a a little narrower there, too. Yeah. But  where it's at is relatively narrow also. Yeah. [1:28:15] So, we don't have a a cost on redoing just redoing  the walking bridge where it's at. We don't know.   [1:28:24] I mean getting the core of engineers involved  and all that. Yeah. So the engineers that we   [1:28:29] had PEC some engineers from there they came out  and they said with it being on a flood plane if   [1:28:34] you [snorts] if you touch the wall of that bank  they have to be involved and they've got to sign   [1:28:39] off and they so it's a it's big process. So so to  rebuild that bridge it would it would be a lot of   [1:28:46] it would take a while. They they basically were  like you really don't want to do this. That's what   [1:28:52] they told me. Like it They said if you weren't  a flood plane, it's nothing but you are. So   [1:28:56] everything [snorts] they don't want you to flick  a rock off the bank. They want you to come out   [1:29:02] further and drill pylons down. Yeah. So if we were  at a regular walking bridge, I would definitely   [1:29:07] want one of those pre-fabricated, you know, he  tied in 10 ft on each side. I not bother that. But   [1:29:19] what I'm trying to say, we the risk of throwing  away $15,000, but you could we could try this. [1:29:31] I think aesthetically it would look cool. Like I  go out there just after this, just go out there   [1:29:36] and just take a look. When you're standing there  and you visualize that and then you see how much   [1:29:40] different going this way and going this way is  I pulled this up today. I was honestly almost   [1:29:45] didn't even put it up on the screen. That's  not what it looked like when you did it. [1:29:56] [cough and clears throat] Oh, it's Yeah, you click  and then give you the benefit. That was a free   [1:30:01] hand. [laughter] Yeah, really accidentally put a  little turn. I see that little You could probably   [1:30:10] cheat the last 40 yards of that existing cart path  there. I mean, if you're going to come down the   [1:30:16] tree line and tie in, you wouldn't have to take  that entire car out. You can tie into it, right? [1:30:26] Again, yeah. Yeah. Most walkers are going to  walk a straight anyway. They're not going to   [1:30:33] stay in the car path. Every time I got  guys here walking, they take a straight   [1:30:39] line since that bridge is out. It's hard to  do here because you get close to those trees,   [1:30:46] it's like rain and it's there's rough  over there. It's I don't know maybe [1:30:53] [snorts] next meeting with me and we  go out and look at what next meeting   [1:30:59] we go out and attend. Yeah, I  I need to figure something out   [1:31:04] fairly quick. We got a lot of people  like you saying I get it every day.   [1:31:08] Yeah, I I got a hammer out there, so I can  come fix it up. Please stay away. [snorts] [1:31:17] This course already has a reputation that  they don't want walkers. It's not a walking   [1:31:21] friendly course. And I don't know that  that's I don't know that's a big deal,   [1:31:26] but that people feel that way. We got a lot of  walkers here. I think there's more walkers here.   [1:31:33] Well, maybe it's more women who feel like it's  not a very walkend course. Is that certain? It's   [1:31:38] probably the hardest walk, but I think we have  the most walkers here probably, you know. I mean,   [1:31:43] everybody sees the handrail and they think it's  the handrail. I said, "No, it's not the handrail.   [1:31:46] It's the sub structures problem." Yeah. If you  crawl down, if you crawl down there, it's it's   [1:31:52] amazing. That thing hasn't fallen in the concrete.  I'm not kidding. There's the piece that's holding   [1:31:56] it up is just suspended to where it's supposed to  be packed and it's just suspended like this. Hold   [1:32:01] it. I don't know how it hasn't broke off. And that  giant tree is about to fall in too. It's Yeah.   [1:32:09] And the roots of that tree or what are probably  holding the rest of that bank up right now. Oh,   [1:32:14] and that's another thing. If that bank eros, it's  right against the cart path in that one spot. And   [1:32:18] now our cart path is going to be hanging over the  doing nothing. Yeah. Uh I will make a point to let   [1:32:26] them close right tomorrow. That's almost That's  almost killing. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz that's going to be   [1:32:33] an issue fairly soon. Yeah, that bank is. [snorts]  Yeah. We We he put some rock just to kind of test   [1:32:40] and see some rip wrap along the bank to see. And  the engineers are like, "That's cute. That's they   [1:32:46] basically like that'll help, but that's not your  solution. That's a this is a lot bigger problem."   [1:32:52] But on number two, we've got a homeowner that if  you're teeing off on two, that pond to the left   [1:32:56] in front of the T box is that side of that pond  that's against the house is that bank is we can't   [1:33:02] really mow it because all those little trees are  what's holding the bank up. We knocked all those   [1:33:06] down. We are going to come in and knock the top of  all that down soon as it dries enough. We can get   [1:33:11] the forestry has a big machine that's knocking off  work. I don't know what it's called. Huh? That's   [1:33:17] not going to work. Myself and my neighbor Daryl  have twice over the years taken every tree down   [1:33:23] on the on the golf course side of that little  pond. And you know we had commission we talked   [1:33:28] to commission we work for almost eight days the  first time about five days a second taking every   [1:33:36] tree down to their root. They're going to keep  growing because one we're not allowed to kill   [1:33:43] kill the root. All we do is take it down. And  there's one tree at the end. Uh all those with   [1:33:49] the thorns on it are spawn from that one tree.  And that tree needs to come down. If it does,   [1:33:55] you will not have that problem with those five  and six foot little trees with the thorns 3 ft   [1:34:01] long. What it feels like when you're coming down.  So no, we clean it out twice to bare ground and   [1:34:09] then the golf course lets you come back. Went  up and I do it again. too old. Unfortunately,   [1:34:15] he's wearing I can't think what the machine was  called. It's that job machine that basically just   [1:34:20] I mean he it'll take them that one tree  down at the end of that little overflow.   [1:34:25] If you don't take that down, they're going to  just going to keep spawning those those trees. [1:34:35] Part part of that tree has died now. uh one  small part of that tree that's causing all   [1:34:40] this problem but uh it's still living longer  that's going to grow back like that after 3   [1:34:46] years [snorts] still living so I mean what we  were talking about the engineers said don't   [1:34:51] take those out cuz that is going to collapse  if you do that to what's holding it so they   [1:34:56] recommended are you are you talking about the  the actual pond itself or the overflow the pond   [1:35:02] left at number 10 the one all the beavers  took the trees down on the back side of   [1:35:08] on the on the outside of that pond. Yeah. Beavers  tore that up. Yeah. Well, they didn't turn enough.   [1:35:14] I wish they'd keep turning. They took so many of  them now. It's ridiculous. They have more problem.   [1:35:18] Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot of a lot of trees that  they're going to We stood out there with the   [1:35:23] engineers and they said, "Don't don't take them  out because that's why it's on the debate until   [1:35:26] you have a permanent solution on how to shore up  that bait. Don't take those trees out." They said,   [1:35:30] "Some trees already fell in the bank with them."  Yeah. And there's no landing there. Yeah. So that   [1:35:37] machine they can go down through there in 20  minutes and 20. So we'll do it several times   [1:35:40] a year. I'm glad we watch that. Yeah. Yeah. We  were going to do it last Tuesday in the rain.   [1:35:45] So we had scheduled. Now it's raining raining  and you know how wet how long that takes. So   [1:35:52] yeah, [clears throat] my house rain. So yeah, just  look at that when you're when you're out there   [1:36:01] next time. I'm just I'm trying to get my bearings  on it. So, where the red line is to the right up   [1:36:07] at the top of that red line up there to the right  of that there's like a little brown spot right   [1:36:12] there. That would be the That'd be the white box.  Yes. Right. Yeah. Right there. That's what So,   [1:36:22] that would be the white. Black, blue, white.  Yeah. And it may actually be here. I think   [1:36:27] it is actually. I did that wrong. It's here.  So, sorry. Yeah. You're talking about inside   [1:36:32] the tree line. Yeah. And those trees look like  they're a lot farther out cuz you're looking at   [1:36:38] the top. There's room like where you Yeah. go  through there easily. E easily. And there was   [1:36:45] eight people out there that day and everybody  was We were talking about if we did that,   [1:36:49] how much space that would save walking. Everybody  was when you're standing there, it's like,   [1:36:53] "Oh yeah, that would make it way easier." And then  I pull this up and I'm like, "That looks stupid. [1:37:13] Okay. Okay. [1:37:16] Conversion at S. Okay. This is what we were  talking about earlier. So with the fairways   [1:37:22] uh at Sam of course we've got Bermuda which in the  winter is gets really thin and um you really only   [1:37:30] have good grass half the year. So there's a lot  of courses in the area. Wellington's one um some   [1:37:36] in Joplin, some in Springfield that has switched  to this blue muda which is a mix of blueg grass   [1:37:40] and bermuda. You overseed the Bermuda with blue  grass. There's nothing else you need to do other   [1:37:46] than keep it really wet. um put the seed down and  it it [clears throat] takes so half the year the   [1:37:52] blueg grass throws, half the year the mut thrones  and somehow these two strands don't fight each   [1:37:57] other they they stay. So don't choke that out.  So I can't explain it but yeah it's a it's a very   [1:38:04] common becoming more and more common in this area.  Um [snorts] Wellington went and played there just   [1:38:10] to see what it was like. I think that was before  the last meeting. We already talked about it. It's   [1:38:13] their fairways are perfect right now. Um and uh  talked to like the tour rep. He's he he was going   [1:38:21] on and on about he used to be a superintendent. He  was going on and on. He played of course in Joplin   [1:38:25] and of course at Lake of the Ozarks that did it  and they're absolutely perfect. So I'm really   [1:38:32] you know fairways are especially at sim are are  always kind of a challenge. Um, we've got the got   [1:38:38] it priced out. [clears throat] The seed alone  would be about $30,000 to do all the forever   [1:38:45] in that course. Um, and that there's a cheaper  seed, but the it's got a price for 21,000. The   [1:38:52] $30,000 seed is coated with undecided like a water  retention thing. So, it comes where you don't have   [1:38:58] to buy like the chemicals after the fact because  it the seed, however they do that, comes coated   [1:39:03] with that already. So, you're saving money. Yeah.  I think you have a lot better chance of it of it   [1:39:09] taking and then um you know put as much chemical  and different applications [clears throat] on   [1:39:13] it after the fact. Fertilizer, the starter  fertilizer, we would do this September 1st.   [1:39:18] That's when you do this time of the year. Um  we do a September application and an October   [1:39:23] application. Um they it would be about $5,000 for  both of those to to get that starter fertilizer to   [1:39:30] get it to really take off. Um, [clears throat]  and then we also want to make sure we protect   [1:39:36] the bermita for the winter as we're trying to get  the other grass to grow process that we've done.   [1:39:41] The only thing we haven't priced out the rope  and stakes and we would need those because for   [1:39:45] at least two weeks, probably the entire month of  September, we would keep carts off the fairways.   [1:39:52] And to make sure that's completely done, we want  to rope that off. We don't want to do all this   [1:39:56] money and then people just ignore it and drop on  the fairways. So you we would rope and stake the   [1:40:00] fairways. Um, so from September 1st basically  to October 1st, October 10th, we would have   [1:40:08] um would be off the bat or it'd be carts on path  home week. The we wouldn't really have to we might   [1:40:14] close for two days just to get it get it done.  Um shouldn't be a big u disruption of play other   [1:40:21] than the carts and the fairways have to be really  wet for a couple of weeks to get those started. So   [1:40:27] um we just had to keep a lot more water than  usual. Uh, but you do this once and then it's it's   [1:40:33] done. But I think I really obviously not here, but  I think at sim and then if that works really good,   [1:40:40] I like to do that back as well. Those two courses  at Texas and ways are awesome right now. So I'm   [1:40:48] okay there. But I think text and and I'm sorry  back would really benefit from this this process.   [1:40:54] I think Texas too. I mean if you play tax in  January, February and that dual I think again.   [1:41:03] Mhm. So the 30,000 covers both applications that  you want to do for the seed for the seed. No. No.   [1:41:11] It would cover the seed and then it's about 5,000  for this for the 30 $35,000 plus the work and you   [1:41:18] this gets drilled in. Yeah, we'll do a double slit  cross slit and then you you lay the seed uh and   [1:41:25] then you'll push them in and let it grow. So, it's  not not that big of a I mean it's a big project. [1:41:36] I think uh [1:41:41] I don't know. I I was very impressed with  with volat and talked to several people   [1:41:45] that play there is on course he's down there  Harrison he's a good player he uh he's the   [1:41:52] one who told me he was like come come with me  you need to look at these yeah that's proof in   [1:41:59] the winter time now you can actually see  what blueg grass actually does come in [1:42:07] right now for me always should be end  of April. So, Maria was coming out,   [1:42:13] but it wasn't like it is now. So, it was  actually when we were before all the rain   [1:42:17] when it was dry as heck all the rain. That's I  was there and it was Yeah. And it was awesome. [1:42:26] I think that's a great idea. I like that. I  think people would be very happy that we're   [1:42:31] doing something. I mean, there's going to be  people not happy that they have seen on the path,   [1:42:35] but also they're going to be happy that we're  doing something that long term is going to make   [1:42:39] that course much much better. Yeah. Probably be  great to take some before and afters, too. Yeah.   [1:42:45] Just show the difference. This is I know you  have been able to play, but have you talked to   [1:42:51] any of the ladies that play it soon right now? I'm  sorry. Have you talked to the ladies that play it   [1:42:55] soon? I actually played. Oh, you did? Oh, okay.  Yeah. More than I was supposed to. [laughter]   [1:43:03] You go and stop your I did. Yeah. And kind of  reinjured a little bit, but that's okay. Um   [1:43:09] uh yeah, I played it for the state senior. We  played it two days in a row. And when was that?   [1:43:13] Uh last Tuesday and Wednesday. Okay. Wednesday  and Thursday. Um yeah, I mean I think everybody   [1:43:21] felt like it was certainly improved from where  it's been the last three or four years. For sure.   [1:43:25] There were a lot of people older ones like  me reminiscing about how good it used to be,   [1:43:30] right? and wishing it could get there. So, I  don't think anybody pushed back about playing   [1:43:34] like this to to improve. I think the greens  right now are really good. We do have our   [1:43:41] club championship the first week of September.  There'll be a little push back on that. I mean,   [1:43:45] our club is our ladies club is  old. What what days? 8 n [snorts] [1:43:57] going first and second, you think? Maybe  if I go back to him with this maybe. Let's   [1:44:02] let's talk about that. We did first start  the next Monday. Yeah. Let me see what I   [1:44:07] can do on that. And I don't they may have  something to start to figure out. Yeah. [1:44:14] Yeah. I mean cart pass only. There's a lot  of people who drop out but it's car pass   [1:44:17] only just because they physically can't do  it. Yeah. Let's see if we can something up. [1:44:26] Unfortunately, that this time of year,  it's when you pretty well have to do this.   [1:44:29] There's not It's not that we're just  picking that time to make a meeting.   [1:44:33] It's a timing. Yeah. Sure. And and I mean,  [clears throat] they'll understand that if   [1:44:38] we can if there's room on the calendar,  we'll see if we can just accommodate. [1:44:45] Yep. [clears throat] Any other  questions, comments? Uh course updates. [1:44:55] I think all the course conditions are have been  around pretty good. Um we had some issues at Mac   [1:45:02] on a couple of dry spots on the green this  past week. Obviously had eight of rain since   [1:45:08] then. So I think that took care of that. But um  we're going to work on work on a better plan on   [1:45:15] how we handle that. It's obviously grease. I was  getting a bunch of pictures in pictures of the   [1:45:19] course and it looked great. And then I get back  and they were like, "Yeah, everything's awesome   [1:45:23] except for the hot spots on the green burning  up." So, getting used to having the resources   [1:45:30] to take care of that now that we didn't have  in the past and actually utilizing them. So,   [1:45:34] um but no, I I haven't played in 3 weeks, so  I don't know what here. I haven't heard any   [1:45:40] complaints at all. I think the course is No,  I haven't heard any complaints here at all.   [1:45:46] I'm sorry. I was going to say since they took the  airway over the fairways and punched holes again,   [1:45:54] I think some of the spots are starting to even  fill in more and get better, especially with the   [1:45:59] moisture we've had and stuff. So, I don't  know if he threw fertilizer down with that   [1:46:03] or if he was just broken in. Yeah. Uh, and I've  heard nothing but comments about the new super.   [1:46:15] everybody that says he's doing a fantastic job.  So, good. That's good to hear. Um, yeah, I did the   [1:46:22] rar today definitely improve. There's still a lot  to be done, but it's I think things are definitely   [1:46:28] going and he when when he started, I mean, he  pretty well laid out what issues he saw, what   [1:46:34] his important things were. One of them was the  root system on the greens was that deep, but now   [1:46:39] it's this deep. So, he's really done everything  he's hoping to do. It's a process. cuz we had so   [1:46:44] many windy days in the spring. You couldn't spray  like you wanted to. Um so there's kind of those   [1:46:49] spotty places that they are spotty. Yeah, that  that's the main thing right now. Um but overall   [1:46:56] pretty good about what I was seeing at Slim Matt  now that all the equipment's off the course and he   [1:47:01] has access to everything. He's came along and  then text today six or five or six totals. I   [1:47:08] don't know when last time he played there, but it  was it was awesome today. I don't think there's a   [1:47:14] weed or blade of anything that's not supposed to  be there. I mean, it's it's Edward. There were   [1:47:22] two comments made by the women who came and played  the city senior over there at S. Um, one was the   [1:47:27] bunker on 16 is still pretty darn rough. I don't  know if there's anything else planned to be done   [1:47:31] about that winter project. We're going to fill  that up. It's not going to grow the way it is.   [1:47:36] And we also still need to get the air flow there  is terrible. trying to get grass to establish and   [1:47:41] that's why it is very difficult to do. Okay.  I could just tell people it's in the plant.   [1:47:46] Um and then the the pure dirt place is still in  mostly in the rough. Um I I assume those this   [1:47:54] overseating thing may help with that or is that  primarily fair race? This will be fair. Yeah. Um [1:48:06] yeah. Oh, this would this this that we  needed would just be the fur away. So,   [1:48:10] it's something we we need to address and figure  out. There's some pretty good patches of just   [1:48:14] pure dirt. And so, for the tournament, we had to  tell them they could take that as ground under   [1:48:18] repair and take relief from. I mean, because  it's hard pan dirt. Yeah, we were looking at   [1:48:22] especially you're talking about the rough around  the car path today. We're looking at trying to saw   [1:48:27] a ton of the places around the path or widening  path, one of the two because there's right this   [1:48:32] much dirt on both sides. Exactly. And then in the  rough, we just need [clears throat] to figure out   [1:48:38] each area is kind of its own animal. What's the  cause? Is it because it's no sun all day? Well,   [1:48:42] you know, what is it? It's a water outreach.  You start to type. A lot of what we saw was   [1:48:46] the dirt around the paths. And I'm sure that's  from people driving off the path. Today we saw   [1:48:50] I mean seven carts in a row. You pull it. Path is  here. You pull up to the green. For some reason,   [1:48:55] you pull your cart here. I've never understood  that. Just parking the path. Yeah. Or there's one   [1:49:01] today. Guy got to the end of the path and he just  drove off at the end and parked. just one two one   [1:49:07] step difference but it just killed it all there.  I don't know. Um and then the last thing at Sam   [1:49:14] is what's the story on the ceiling in the lady's  restroom. There's still there's still a big hole [1:49:24] there. So I didn't go last time I was there I  was not there. I was there last I holy cow. I   [1:49:31] was there probably two weeks ago. So the air  conditioning unit it's in that ceiling and   [1:49:35] it's above this. So when it free, you know what  they do the constant drip. I know last when I   [1:49:41] was there I was there for the city that was two  week it was 10 days ago or something and that   [1:49:47] tile ceiling. Yeah. Yeah. We can replace  the tile. I figure out the cost. I don't   [1:49:54] know. I'm telling you our budget 80% of our  expenses go to the air conditioner companies.   [1:50:01] It's I've never every golf course I've ever worked  at club house is just air conditioners don't work.   [1:50:06] I don't understand it. They've been here 87 times  and every time they leave it's fixed. The next   [1:50:11] day we get here and it's 82 degrees. It's not  today. Have you worked out? It's cold out there.   [1:50:19] They were here. Yes. I think. Yeah. So wait till  30. Okay. Thank you. No. I'll I'll see what the   [1:50:31] I don't know the ladies restroom that much.  So start. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. They've done a big   [1:50:41] improvement on the bathroom and back out  the middle there. They [snorts] painted   [1:50:46] it nice cleaner than it used to be. What do  you mean they [laughter] outstanding? Well,   [1:50:53] what you forgot to do was kill that big black  widow that hangs around behind the toilet. Tommy.   [1:50:58] Yeah. Tommy. Tommy. Yeah, get rid of Tommy. He  scared me out of there twice. Chased me once.   [1:51:06] That's awesome. I want to feed him. There's a big  group of bushes right in front of the bathroom.   [1:51:12] Okay. La [laughter] think about it. No, he just  means to relocate Tommy. That's all. If you Tommy,   [1:51:21] I appreciate it. Okay. I know at least one  of my guys is death and would appreciate it.   [1:51:26] I think he didn't go off the toilet.  He looked down there looking at him. [1:51:40] Okay. No, I'll look at that lady's crowd.  I didn't know it was there. So, all [1:51:46] right. Okay. Um, marketing and customer service  updates. Anything bad to add stuff? Yeah. So,   [1:51:54] I'm just going to share a little bit of what we  did last week or not last week, the beginning   [1:51:57] of June. It was June 1 through the 5th. It  was our golfer appreciation week. We blasted   [1:52:03] it everywhere, but if you didn't know, this is  kind of the day say themes maybe. Um, overall,   [1:52:10] I think people took a great, you know, they came  out, they supported us when they could. Um, the   [1:52:17] only real spotty day we had was our June 4th day.  It was a range day and we had rain. So besides   [1:52:23] that that the entire week was great. Obviously  um we want to give back to our golf ballers but   [1:52:26] at the same time we used it to encourage engage  encourage engagement on our social media platforms   [1:52:32] and also get people to follow so they know what's  going on. Um so I just threw up a few pictures. We   [1:52:38] got the donuts in the bottom left of gratitude  on the right there. A part of the week we did   [1:52:43] like trivia asking questions about golf courses  different things like that. So we had a great   [1:52:48] time doing that. Um, then this is a clip from  our snack stop day. This was unpromptu. We had   [1:52:56] uh what what did we have all that day? We had  ice cream. We had popcorn. Ice cream truck.   [1:53:02] Yeah. With me Hamilton and snow cones. And snow  cones. Yes. So every hour for three hours we   [1:53:07] had different stuff. So this is just a clip  from the day that we thought was pretty cool. [1:53:24] It was moments like this all week that was great.  Sydney and I were at all the different courses   [1:53:28] talking to people, asking them questions. It was  it was a good time overall. Good for you guys. [1:53:37] Let me make sure I say this. They  did. They ever been to the sports.   [1:53:40] I was stuck downtown pretty much that  whole week before and that week. So,   [1:53:45] I was trying to make it as I could. They did  everything. They did everything. Thank you,   [1:53:49] guys. Yeah. And then this is just a short  little clip of our final day. We gave away   [1:53:54] tons of prizes. We had competitions. It was  wellreceived. We had a couple league that was   [1:54:00] out here that came out and supported. WBC was out.  They had some samples to try. On the first mat,   [1:54:07] we were seeing who could hit the greens  that are out there. And if they did,   [1:54:10] they would get prize. And just by chance, there  was a guy, a drone operator. He's like, "Can I   [1:54:15] fly my drone around?" I was like, "Yeah, man. Get  it up." But that was kind of the finale for it all [1:54:26] TV. Um, Bench went Ben. I posted that video of all  the winners on Facebook. I didn't want to include   [1:54:35] everything and we would have been here for half an  hour watching stuff. something. And then finally,   [1:54:43] um this is kind of the views, engagement, that  kind of stuff, that kind of stuff from uh the   [1:54:49] first, you know, three weeks of June. Um uh  so here is kind of this first week was kind   [1:54:56] of where we were pushing really hard. And you  can kind of see how when we're more active,   [1:55:00] you know, in the community and stuff like  that, they'll show that through engagement.   [1:55:03] um kind of dropped off a little bit more as  we get to the end of June because obviously   [1:55:07] we're not pushing social campaigns as hard, but  it's been great. You can see all the numbers are   [1:55:12] plus percentages for this. So, this this  is the against this time last year. So,   [1:55:16] pretty comparable. We're happy with the results  and I think our golfers really enjoyed this   [1:55:21] little games and prizes and contests that we had  going on throughout the week. So, all in all,   [1:55:25] I think it was pretty pretty successful. I don't  know, leave that screen up for a second. I don't   [1:55:28] know much about social media but 130,000 views  that week up 60% 18 up 148% and watch time. [1:55:41] Define watch time for me. What does that mean?  Total watch time that anybody was logged in.   [1:55:46] Yeah. So anybody that's logged in has the video  up on their on their phone. You know how you're   [1:55:50] scrolling through even if it's halfway on your  screen and still playing it it records that   [1:55:54] screen time. Okay. And so that's a combination  of everybody. Gotcha. [clears throat] Yeah. So,   [1:56:00] I don't know what I don't know I don't know what  to expect, but just looking at the how far up the   [1:56:05] percentages are, it looks like some pretty big  numbers to me. So, really it's a great job you   [1:56:11] guys. Good job. Thank you. Thank you. And that was  it for for me. I will say we we had no idea how   [1:56:19] this is going to work. people are going to care if  people how many people are. The first day I've got   [1:56:24] Steve call me and he was like, "Hey, I got guys  here asking about when they need to be here for   [1:56:28] this or this." Awesome. Time to donuts arrive.  Before before us, I wish the shots we'd stay.   [1:56:36] We had we there was a huge storm coming. Everyone  knew it was on the way. So, I had several people   [1:56:41] telling me I was going to come out, but it's going  to rain. And we had about maybe an hour. There was   [1:56:46] they had a DJ out there playing music. It was  so fun. Yeah. It would have been awesome. It   [1:56:52] would have been cool. But we'll try again. Yeah.  With shot suite. I don't really have too much of   [1:56:58] just backpacking off of Trevor. Other than that,  I've just been I've had a few more orientations.   [1:57:05] We're doing good. Lots of awesome new hires, new  people were getting in. And then um it seems like   [1:57:11] it was just yesterday that we started corporate  members, but it's been a whole year since we got   [1:57:15] our first one, Clausmire Construction, and they  are renewing tomorrow for another year. So Scott   [1:57:21] is a cool thing wanted to share with you guys. But  in there today, she was talking to you basically   [1:57:27] were saying like, "Yeah, this is awesome.  Come get a check tomorrow." Yep. Like was that [1:57:36] south like south of the airport?  a little bit like if you were to   [1:57:40] go on Tyler Road like past Tex and  keep going south, [snorts] you would   [1:57:47] run like is that K42? I don't know. Go  past K42. They're on the other side. [1:57:55] Different effects a lot. Yeah. But  yeah, that's all I had. Anybody [1:58:05] else have anything you want to  bring up talk about real quick [1:58:13] and we'll do it again next month. [1:58:20] Good to see everybody. I may uh I may try  to switch that to Monday if that figure out   [1:58:26] how that works. Oh, you'll get emailed but  know there's a chance it might go to Monday.   [1:58:32] Is it always this empty? Nobody developers  or anything? Um, unless we are raising [1:58:56] it. Now he's
