Commission for all that they do and
[11:42] their part in this endeavor.
Lord, we just ask that uh you help us

quickly but with good thought and always
[11:56] keeping you and what you would expect us

introduction of our new public safety
[13:36] officer.

[13:38] » Yes, sir.
>> Um, so, as uh is customary, wanted to
[13:42] introduce our new public safety officer
to our council and to our community.
[13:47] Again, another uh layer of
accountability that we utilize so we
[13:52] know who we're serving and who we are
accountable to. Quinn, if you don't mind
[13:55] stepping up. Quinn Huntington, Officer
Huntington, is 23 years old. He
[14:00] graduated high school from Eagle
Christian Academy and graduated college
[14:04] from Baylor University with a bachelor's
of science and education. Um, one thing
[14:08] about Officer Huntington, when he came
and initially met with me about working
[14:12] here, I could tell he had a strong uh
moral compass and he uh always want to
[14:17] do what's right. Doing his background
check, everybody we talked to told us
[14:21] how lucky we were to attract with such
ethical and moral strength. So he's uh
[14:30] completed his police academy which he
thrived in. He um completed his FTO
[14:35] training as well which he thrived in.
Um, usually we wait a semester to send
[14:40] somebody to the fire academy. Um, but
he's been excelling so greatly that
[14:44] we're sending him to the fire academy
starting in July. So, he is doing well.
[14:49] Um, he is one of those that we look to
to continue to train serve our
[14:53] community.
[14:58] I think I've done a lot to introduce
yourself.
[15:00] » Absolutely. I I've always grown up in
Mlennon County and I've always heard of
[15:04] the Woodway reputation. It's a very
prestigious one. When applying for this
[15:08] job, I I was just telling my parents
every day I'd be very lucky to be here
[15:12] because it's a great community that
supports the officers, which is rare in
[15:16] today's time.
My father also served law enforcement
[15:20] county.

bring up our Woodway Youth Commission
[18:23] members um and recognize them and also
recognize graduating seniors um Corporal
[18:29] Officer canister. Officer Kester was our
community resource officer. Uh
[18:33] transitioning to patrol and corporal web
has been given the opportunity to be our
[18:40] new community resource officer. So if
you don't mind
[18:44] » Yeah, absolutely. So uh over here in the
corner tucked away are our youth
[18:48] commission members who absolutely do an
awesome job at helping us and the city
[18:53] of Woodway, you know, create these
really cool community events. uh they're
[18:57] kind of the backbone a lot of the time
picking up trash, showing people where
[19:00] the bathrooms are, uh face paint,
tattoos, stickers, fun stuff like that.
[19:04] And these kids, they're all in high
school or middle school, and they
[19:07] actually take time out of their day, uh
their, you know, their busy youthful
[19:11] days to come up here and do meetings
regularly and then go to these events to
[19:16] get community hours to help for their
college resumes, things like that. So, I
[19:19] personally think it's an awesome awesome
thing that they do and they definitely
[19:22] deserve recognition. So, we can get a
little quick round OF APPLAUSE FOR
[19:31] AND I DO BELIEVE WE HAVE ONE graduating
senior here with us today.

every February they work really hard on
[21:35] putting together um the bound for the
brave and 100% of those proceeds are
[21:41] given to the 100 club. Um we have
president of the 100 club Scott Holt,
[21:45] chief of uh Marina, please come up here
as well. Um and this is the greatest way
[21:51] to support your local law enforcement is
being part of the 100 club. Uh they are
[21:55] the ones who support the ones who
support our community. um their their
[21:59] number one thing is to financially
support grieving families of fallen law
[22:04] enforcement officers in the Clinton
County surrounding in some surrounding
[22:07] counties and not just law enforcement
first responders they also firefighters.
[22:11] So within Can you give some details on
within 24 hours how that works?
[22:16] » Yeah. So we represent 2400,000
[22:30] recently.

years the

your city manager's report.
[25:14] » Thank you, mayor and council. Uh, first
I'll brag on our assistant city manager,
[25:18] Jennifer Rogers, and city secretary,
Quesa Redden, for completing the
[25:23] certified public manager CPM program
through Texas State. This is an 18month
[25:29] program split up between seven tracks
and 14 areas of study across general and
[25:34] executive government management. After
they complete these tracks, they are
[25:38] required to complete a capstone paper
which they submitted this past weekend.
[25:42] I'm happy to report they will be
eligible to graduate June 8th at the
[25:46] Capitol in Austin. CONGRATULATIONS
[25:54] and a TASA sidewalk grant update. Feels
like we were just talking about this a
[26:00] few months ago and it's already been
over a year. Um,
[26:05] so we were required to have a a sign and
easement agreement with MISD. We had an
[26:11] agreement in writing over email but the
the stipulations of the grant paperwork
[26:16] dictated uh a different form to appease
them. So we have satisfied that request.
[26:23] Uh that is at the school board meeting
tomorrow. Their meeting is tomorrow and
[26:27] this is on the consent agenda for them.
So after that it can go out to bid and
[26:34] we're okay to open bid still by June
11th and we hope to have everything
[26:38] completed on estates before school
begins
[26:43] and as part of of the keep Texas
beautiful program again carried out by
[26:47] our city secretary text has now
completed their portion of the work by
[26:51] clearing the overgrowth and the
landscaping forms underneath the highway
[26:56] 84 bridge. This completes a years long
yearsong project to have lamps installed
[27:02] under the bridge and and now the second
piece was to clear out any unsightly
[27:06] rebar.
Our Tater Hill water tank has been that
[27:10] was recently refurbished has passed its
final bacteria test and is back in
[27:14] service bringing all wells and ground
storage tanks back online and
[27:19] operational.
And the bid for the micro seal
[27:23] was done week before or the opening,
excuse me, was week before last. And the
[27:29] bid was awarded to Viking, uh, which
came in a little over budget, but
[27:34] Mr. Davidson's working negotiating the
final scope of the work for that
[27:39] project.
Degera laid 55 ft of line last week and
[27:44] the bypass pump will be relocated after
Memorial Day weekend and that will
[27:49] hopefully also take out the heavy
equipment and the blockage we've had
[27:53] over on the frontage road of 84 which
what feels like forever but that we pray
[28:00] is coming to coming to an end.

>> Okay. And the splash pad is advertised
[28:09] to open Monday, but Jack shared with
