[0:00] You know, it doesn't take me very long
to to uh have to reach back into my
[0:05] memory and and think about what this
site looked like when we first got
[0:10] started. To be totally honest, this
particular site is one that that saved
[0:15] my skin. You know, I ran for
commissioner in 2016.
[0:20] Uh this property had been bought shortly
after me taking office. there had been a
[0:24] large monetary uh means uh actually put
out for this site and uh I campaigned
[0:30] against it and I thought it was too much
money and so when I came into office I
[0:34] knew that I had to work hard with our
fellow commissioners and we had to make
[0:40] sure that this particular investment was
an investment that was right for
[0:43] Claremont County and that it returned
the kind of money that needed to go back
[0:48] to the citizens since it had been
purchased with their money. And so to be
[0:53] totally honest, Design Within Reach is
my first love. And the reason it's my
[0:59] first love is because it was it was
their investment here that made the
[1:04] difference. You know, we were looking at
this industrial park. We had all the
[1:10] infrastructure in place and time after
time, no one was coming. And so we
[1:17] teamed with design within reach. We made
sure that the property was, you know,
[1:21] the right price for them to uh to build
this magnificent facility and to be able
[1:27] to continue to expand like they have
today. And they have definitely, you
[1:32] know, undercommitted and overachieved.
What what a great great team member to
[1:37] have for us. We are so proud as
commissioners to be here today and to
[1:42] celebrate in this particular
groundbreaking. And uh always remember
[1:47] that no matter how big that building is
across the street, you know, our love
[1:51] was for you first and it'll always be
that way. So, thank you so much. Thanks
