[0:07] We'll go ahead and review the agenda items. Who will be doing the invocation [0:12] and pledge? [0:23] Thank you. U we have several event requests this [0:28] evening if you'll look down that front page and all of the supporting documents [0:32] are in SharePoint. So we'll go through those. Um we'll have [0:37] our committee reports [0:43] and we will have a budget presentation. We're it's not necessarily a budget [0:48] hearing per se. It's more along the lines of a review of the previous year's [0:53] budget and then the current proposed budget. Um I'll make sure that we're [0:58] everyone knows we're not voting on this tonight. We have two more weeks. There [1:02] could be changes and amendments to the budget. Um but it is an overview. So if [1:06] there's any opportunity or a need for input, there's two more weeks that those [1:11] input can be provided and adjustments can be made. [1:15] » [snorts] >> Then we have our unfinished business of [1:17] the two ordinances establishing a grant submitt policy [1:22] and uh our procurement policy which is in line with Alabama bid law. [1:29] We'll have a roll call vote for those two. Then we'll move to new business [1:34] which is the Rebuild Alabama Act. That's the transportation plan. That is not the [1:39] complete paving plan. That'll be on the next agenda. [1:42] [clears throat] Uh Erica has emailed that to you and to me and so there's [1:47] probably still a couple of things that need to be tweaked in that. But so the [1:50] transportation plan has to be put out for the rebuild Alabama uh funds. [1:57] And then we have resolution to enter into an agreement with responder [2:00] technologies. So that is for training software for the [2:06] fire department. And then we have a roofing project at the train depot. We [2:11] do have bids. Um, we'll pull that up. Those bids did go out. [2:19] Hey, Wes. Um, we'll talk about this later, but would you make a note that we [2:24] look at open gov uh procurement? I'll tell you more about that later, [2:31] too. Um then we have resolution to enter into a memorandum of understanding with [2:37] the Alabama State Department of Education to participate in the safe [2:41] school council. That would be Sully, Officer Sully doing that. [2:48] And we have another resolution to enter into an agreement with the Alabama [2:53] Department of Transportation for intelligent transportation system. [2:59] Do you have any additional >> I read I'd like to know more about it [3:02] too. I I would I mean u I read it but it was [3:07] » it's for the traffic department. Mayor >> Mayor. [3:11] » Yeah. >> On um resolution 26144 is to enter into [3:16] an agreement with Alabama Department of Transportation on an intelligent [3:21] transportation system. I would presume that that has to do with [3:27] the signalization. >> That's it. It it stated that in there, [3:31] but I don't I still I didn't know the process. So, they do they work with like [3:35] the traffic engineer. Is that kind of what it means or? [3:39] » Yeah. >> On our signals. [3:41] » Yeah. Part of that may mean like when you have a wreck on the interstate [3:46] that they lack of a better term kind of take [3:49] control of those particular red lights. It's preset. they but they can do it [3:55] remotely and to keep that traffic moving at a better better clip. [4:00] » Okay. All right. Thank you. [4:05] Then we have uh ordinance 2649 to amend [4:12] well this actually just the first reading of that one the current [4:15] international fire code and life safety code. Chief can do you have some updates [4:19] on that? What's changing in that? It's just an amendment. It's not a new [4:23] ordinance. [4:45] Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. [4:49] » I read it. I just couldn't tell what was different from the previous one. [4:53] And then first reading of ordinance 2650 which is to delete chapter 58 vegetation [5:01] and replace chapter 30 nuisance of the code of ordinances. And that is also [5:06] just a first reading. And then we'll have our next council [5:11] meeting September 14th and we will vote on the budget at that meeting. [5:28] Are there any other items in the work session that we need to discuss or [5:31] review? Been mainly focused on budget and getting all of that prepared. So, I [5:38] know we're ready to move forward with that, but I don't have anything else. [5:42] Don't have any new proposals on ordinances [snorts] other than the ones [5:46] we have on the agenda. [5:49] Okay. >> Anything I have for the meeting [5:51] » for the work. Okay. >> All right. Short and sweet on that one. [5:57] I think
