Kerry, Colleoplace. And then we have Vernon. What's heart? Helen Humphrey? Yes. Well, I'm mercy. Here. Jim Cox. Is that he? Here. William. Here. We can. All right. If we can. [1:57] rise for pledge and [2:08] to the Republic which stands one nation under God in the visible. [2:16] We'll [2:26] go to item 4.1. Proof of July minutes. Everybody have a chance to review. [2:32] Do we have [2:37] a motion? [2:39] Second. [2:40] I make a motion to approve the minutes of July. [2:45] A second. [2:48] All right. [2:49] All right, all those in favor? [2:51] All right. [2:52] Opposed? [2:53] Motion passes, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, nothing. [2:59] All right. [3:00] Mr. Sherman, if I may, I would like to request an amendment to the agenda. [3:07] Item 8.2 should be on their board comments, so that will be item 10.1 instead of 8.2. [3:18] And I would like to add to the agenda a letter of interest for leasing and developing the property at 29 South Ocean Avenue. [3:32] Okay, does anybody want to make that motion? [3:39] Sure. [3:40] Motion to change the agenda as stated. [3:44] All right, any discussion? [3:48] All right, all is in favor? [3:50] Aye. [3:50] All right. [3:50] Thank you. [3:51] Opposed? [3:52] All right. [3:54] Oh, Lord. [3:55] Thank you, Angela. [3:59] So first up, we have commercial improvement for professional design assistance incentive [4:06] program funding request. [4:10] Angela. [4:12] Good [4:17] evening, Mr. Chairman, board members, Angela Armstrong beside the development project manager. [4:25] Item number five is the commercial improvement and professional design assistance incentive [4:31] funding request for 415 main street which [4:38] you have a power point. [4:46] Mr. Philip Simuleta, applicant and property owner is requesting the redevelopment board [4:52] to recommend approval for the request for funding through the zero percent interest [4:58] known commercial improvement incentive program. [5:02] The property is located for 15 links to [5:11] review of and the decision of the commercial incentive [5:15] application should be based on the following preconditions. [5:20] Is it a conforming use? [5:21] The subject property is in the RDB2 redevelopment beach side, especially retail, zoning district, [5:28] which allows restaurant without drive-in and drive-through and especially eating and drinking [5:35] establishment as a principle of use. This property is not a change of use so it is [5:42] a conforming use. Does the property have any delinquent ad ballering taxes or leans? [5:48] A staff has not found any delinquent ad ballering taxes or leans on the subject property. [5:54] how the project will contribute to the elimination [5:59] or prevention of slow and bright. [6:02] This subject property is on one of our core areas. [6:06] The applicant is proposing a complete exterior [6:09] and interior improvement to bring the building [6:13] into compliance. [6:15] A staff has reviewed the proposed project [6:18] and has found that all the predictions are met. [6:25] So you have a full staff report on the packet and tonight what we are requesting is that [6:35] you recommend that move to get to the city commission. [6:39] I'd like to recommend approval. [6:40] Make a motion. [6:41] Second. [6:42] Whatever. [6:43] That's my young lady. [6:44] You need public comments. [6:46] Yes, ma'am. [6:46] Thank you so much, Angela. [6:48] All right. Do we do forget? Do we do public comments first? Yeah. So, um, does that we have any sheets? [6:55] I have to not for that. I know. Okay. All right. [6:58] John. All right. Come on up, John. [7:06] John, it was in 413. Let's grab a rabbit. In case I missed it, I did not see what the money was going for. [7:14] Did you discuss the outside decor? Did you discuss the movement of the bar itself? [7:21] I missed that discussion that you had, so if you all could rehash the discussion you had [7:31] on this property, what it looked like, because when you originally did that, he had to have [7:38] a certain size bar, if you remember, Ellen. [7:40] We did all of that, so I'm wondering whether you threw that out, or he's required to have [7:46] that, and is he going to do that? [7:48] Is there going to be any dancing? [7:49] remember they could and could not have dancing. Are they allowed to have dancing now the painting [7:55] a scheme. All of those things I missed when this was presented. I guess you saw this previously. [8:03] This is the first time I'm seeing this. So I saw no picture of what it's going to look like [8:10] because oftentimes they present this is what we're going to do, this is et cetera. So since I missed [8:16] that when you discussed it the last time, I wonder if you could go over it again. Thank you. [8:21] Thank you, Jones. [8:22] Thank you. [8:24] For the record, this application is for to replace the AC. [8:30] Right. [8:31] And we have the property owner here if you want to, he can go. [8:36] I personally, if Phil would like to come up, if you just like to say a couple of things about your vision, if you want to, you don't have to. [8:43] Because I've I've watched it every day. What's going on? I'm a big fan. It's phenomenal. Yeah, so, so I [8:51] Yeah, you don't have to fill if you don't want to but why [9:09] why [9:13] not not to him to us [9:20] So basically a little bit of my background. I don't know mortgage brokerage real estate company. Oh nice [9:25] I'm a proper management company [9:27] and a real estate school. I have a couple bars and restaurants in Philadelphia and in South Florida. [9:35] So I've always loved Daytona Beach. It's been one of my favorite places and I've always [9:40] looked for an opportunity to be here. And I found that opportunity by buying this property. [9:46] So what I'm doing, if you drive by it, it's already done. I already paid for it, it's already done. [9:52] This grant, the one you're talking about, was to replace five air condition units, two [9:57] ten tons, seven and a half, a five, and a three. [10:00] It's happening as we're speaking. [10:02] Total cost was 77,000. [10:05] This has nothing to do with the color or anything. [10:07] This one here is literally craning five air conditioners down, craning five up, replacing [10:13] all the air houndlers in the ceilings, and basically covering some of that cost. [10:18] us now for the color and everything. That one is already approved and done. It's already [10:24] painted. It's all done. It looks nice. And that's that's the other grant. That's all completed. [10:32] And the electrical was all replaced. We changed the lighting. We put new lights on. [10:35] One thing I wanted to add is as sitting here and I'm a big fan of Main Street to be honest [10:40] with you. We have a few of my associates here on that business is on Main Street. I love [10:45] What you're doing is beautiful by a thousand percent of support you [10:50] I might even a grown up with a guy beside you, but [10:56] Anyway, I'm happy you're doing what you're doing. I'm happy you're invested in our community [10:59] And I'm pretty sure most of these other board members are pretty happy to because we definitely need more activity because if we're not growing we're dying [11:06] So thank you for helping us grow. Yeah, I'm honored to be here and honored to do this [11:10] And there is another partial. You're going to see the 14 North Hollywood. I just replaced all the electric. There's two panels that 200 and 400 outdoor electric panels temperate. It's being fenced tomorrow. There's a six foot aluminum fence going around the whole property. [11:26] The electric being boxed in as we speak. And I'm getting ready to possibly do some resurfacing that needs to be done on it too. [11:35] But that's a different partial, and then the pain in the electric, which he was he was talking about, is the interior exterior pain, and then all the lighting on the outside we replaced, and the lighting alarm, the walls on the inside was that first, was that first grant? [11:49] So any other questions or just two words. Thank you. [12:04] Appreciate it. [12:05] and then they'd come across the street [12:07] and they'd buy a piece of jewelry and then I, [12:10] and there's, there's, there's, there's, [12:12] there isn't gonna be any physical changes either. [12:14] You know, he mentioned about the sizing and bar and dancing. [12:18] There's no dance floor. [12:20] There's, I'm not changing any of the bars. [12:22] Like the structure's saying. [12:24] I mean, we're gonna refinish it. [12:25] I took everything. [12:26] Now all new kitchen equipment, all new Pepsi equipment, [12:29] all new, your line, everything's gonna be brand new. [12:33] As in Washington, the floor is ceiling it. [12:34] Yeah, because I was in there before you started everything and everything was rusted and old. Yeah, it's all brand new and I'll be able to stop bringing lunch to work. [12:47] I'll be able to run across the street, but it was beneficial. When you do that, I benefit you benefit because it just brings more and more people. [12:57] The goal is to bring as many feet to that street as possible. [13:00] Absolutely, because they come here, they're going to go there, they're going to go there. [13:03] Exactly. [13:04] Because there are wonderful little boutiques all over Main Street. [13:08] You just have to be able to get the people to walk up the street and find out that we're [13:12] all there. [13:13] Yeah, sickle. [13:14] Okay. [13:14] More importantly, thank you for, it really looks nice outside. [13:17] Yeah. [13:18] I really want to, it really looks nice. [13:20] Thank you. [13:21] So, that's the way I do it, man. [13:23] It's got to be perfect or it doesn't get time. [13:25] Appreciate it. [13:26] Yeah, I really appreciate it. [13:28] Thanks, guys. [13:29] Thank you. [13:31] Bobbi. [13:33] Oh, that's my boy. [13:38] Bobby Gdotti 405 and 407 Main Street, I own, sorry, I'm kind of in an attire because [13:43] I'm actually helping fill with painting the American flag that's done up there, but I'm [13:48] definitely for this change because, you know, when we first had got into the business down [13:54] the street from him, it was alive and it was going well and then it got quiet, but I just [13:58] As somebody who lives in the area and above the business, I'm watching and listening to ideas and seeing how this progress is going and it's I think it's what we want to see here on Main Street and talking to Phil. [14:09] I think it's one of those things like when he's trying to help us get to be better in this area and bring in the light back like we've always talked about in the past like this is definitely one of those small trickles that I think will help Main Street. [14:20] and seeing the watch the progress and watching the building looks beautiful and [14:25] then also putting the artwork and everything else that he's trying to accomplish I [14:29] think definitely it's a go-to so I just want to support and be there for him so [14:33] you guys know too it's a good thing I think it's gonna help trickle the whole [14:36] street to be silly back to what we need and thank you for what you're doing at [14:40] Main Street tattoo I actually went in a visit you last said he was last bike week [14:43] what and I don't go out there much like I used to but I got to be Helen's [14:49] joy store and my friends of Brewery and I love I love the fact that we're [14:53] coming together as a community and supporting each other as a community and I [14:57] think that's the most important thing. [15:00] That's like I said, we're more than just a tattoo shop. We want to be invested in Main Street and the community and make it better with, you know, from what it was to even now, to even go for flags looking great, do a great job on that. Every day of watching you out there sweating your butt off, man. Yeah. Good job. All right. So we got motion in the second, any additional board discussion? All right. All those in favor? Opposed? All right. Motion passes. [15:32] Okay, before we start on this one, I have to abstain, this is for me. [15:37] Yes. [15:38] Okay. [15:38] So this is my property. [15:40] So. [15:46] Okay. [15:47] So, Commissioner Improvement and Professional Design Assistant Incentive Program funding [15:52] request for 528 East ISP. [15:58] The project, Mr. Timothy Costa-Dazquez, applicant and property owner is requesting the [16:06] a re-development board to recommend approval of the request for funding through the 0% interest-loan commercial improvement incentive program. [16:16] The project is, the property is located at 528 East International Speedway. [16:22] That's the pictures that you see on the screen. [16:26] Mr. Costidazki, applicant and owner, is submitted in a grant application to assist with [16:34] building improvement such as electrical work, financing, interior and exterior pain, [16:42] block and concrete, asphalt, plumbing and HBAC. [16:47] The review of and the decision of the commercial incentive program is based on the following [16:54] preconditions. It is a conforming use. The subject property is BR2, business retail 2, which allows [17:02] a variety of uses as principle use as shown on your work packet. It's a extensive list. [17:12] According to the property owner, it's going to be listed as a retail space. [17:19] Does the property have any delinquent nut baller taxes? [17:23] We have not found any. [17:25] And how the project will contribute is the applicant is proposing complicate stereo [17:30] and interior improvement and provide more retail options and create new jobs. [17:37] Staff have review, have has review the proposed project and found that all the preconditions [17:44] are met. [17:44] And we have the property owner here, again, answer all the questions that you may have. [17:58] Do you have anything you'd like to share with us about the project that Angela didn't [18:03] share? [18:04] I mean, it's just, it's a total gut and redo of the building, all brand new electric. [18:10] There was never AC in the building, so we'll be putting AC in, the whole property is just [18:16] going to be a total turnaround on it. [18:20] Um, I have a question about the, it, it shows two, you know, it's the, what used to be the [18:25] laundromat and also the speedway bar or whatever was the speedway bar or any of that. [18:29] It's a tattoo shop. [18:30] Yeah. [18:30] It's a tattoo shop. [18:32] Yeah. [18:33] It's, uh, it's a tattoo shop. [18:35] Okay. [18:35] Now, that, that building, I've already put roofs on the buildings, so though that we have [18:39] the roofs already done, that tenant handled the remodel himself. [18:43] Okay. [18:43] So this is primarily for the one that was used to be the lottery map and then the entire parking lot [18:49] So it's going to be the entire parking lot complete fencing all around [18:54] Man, like what are you is the parking lot going to be dug up or just repaired or it's going to be milled down [19:02] And then re-ass fault re-ass fault. Okay. Um [19:06] I don't know the logistics of different surfaces or have you considered a permeable surface or [19:14] Yeah, that would be a move there. [19:18] Yeah, I mean, [19:22] if it was Virgin Land, it'd be a different story, but just to be able to do that now, it'd be an astronomical cost to go in there and yeah, all right, do we have a motion to approve? [19:35] I'll make a motion to approve it. [19:37] Do we have a second? [19:37] I have a second. [19:39] Do we have any comments on this, Ms. Justice? [19:42] No. [19:43] All right. [19:43] Any discussion up here? [19:44] Any further discussion? [19:46] All right. [19:47] All those in favor? [19:49] Aye. [19:50] Aye. [19:53] Opposed? [19:55] All right. [19:56] Motion passes. [20:05] Congratulations. [20:05] Looking forward to it. [20:06] All right. [20:07] Next. [20:08] His family put a lot of work into that property over the years. [20:11] They definitely deserve it. [20:15] So item number seven is just information items, we don't require any action from the [20:23] board, it's just for your information. [20:26] For 15 main street submitted an application for the small project commercial and business [20:34] incentive program. [20:36] Just as I reminder, that program pays 75% of the total project costs up to a maximum [20:43] amount of $20,000. The total project cost, and I included a separate staff report for you, [20:51] the total project cost is $29,150 and the project description is electrical work, work, [20:59] exterior and interior improvement. The grand amount is $20,000. [21:04] We also have 17 South Oliander, which is a residential facade grant, and the applicant [21:12] is just me and Felix, and the total project cost is 6,800, they are doing exterior painting [21:20] and the grant amount is 3,400. [21:24] That residential facade grant pays 50% of the total project cost up to a maximum amount [21:31] no 5,000, just for facade improvement. Any questions on those two brands or applications? [21:40] There's nothing required of us on that one, correct? [21:51] Item number 8, I'm going to stay here. [21:55] Item number 8 is utility boxes project update. [22:00] As you can see in the pictures, the first phase is completed and these are some of the pictures. [22:08] Granbian Main Street, ISB, A1A, they turn out very nice. [22:18] So we have a second phase of this project because there on ISB there were some that were [22:24] missing on this part. [22:27] So I'm going to request to go back and do Ocean Avenue, Harvey Avenue, Ocean Avenue, [22:34] I knew Hollywood Avenue near ISB only under and is ISB on the bacon lots that the city [22:42] owned, we still have a couple of utility boxes that we need to wrap as well. [22:49] So you will be hearing from that second phase as well. [22:53] On that second phase, these are beautiful excellent job, great work on that. [22:59] The on the second phase, can we look at, you know, like sea grasses, looking at like ocean scenes and like the like sand and stuff like that rather than just only flowers, you know, but still keeping with the same same thing, keeping with the same vibe and and and and such, you know, is that something that. [23:18] Well, I don't know if you recall when I bring the art, you all voted on that. [23:26] So, I mean, I don't mind going back, but it took me six months to complete this between [23:33] at work, common here. [23:35] So it's really. [23:36] And if we stick with, if we stick with flowers, I just was wondering if it's something that [23:39] But we can easily interchange just the picture on the wrap because the wraps all approved [23:48] and things like that. [23:49] Is there something we could add like ocean beach sand, you know, that kind of thing? [23:54] We all agreed that, you know, certain logos and things like that I think weren't supposed [23:58] to go on it and we didn't want necessarily the clock towers and all of that. [24:02] But the flowers turned out beautiful, right? [24:04] So not complaining just, is there, you know, to have a little bit of differences, you [24:08] know in different locations coming down international speedway might be neat to see the beach might [24:14] be neat to see some grasses on there and things but we're just another reminder you all choose [24:22] the flower because it will be less viable to dig graffiti yeah that's correct so you know show if [24:33] we put an ocean over there is going to be no you're right yeah you're no you're right that's a good point [24:37] That would be my two cents as well. [24:40] Like if you do a whole sky, [24:42] I forgot about that. [24:42] You could have put their name in it. [24:43] Yeah, exactly. [24:44] Flowers are great. [24:45] I forgot about Christine. [24:47] I'm sorry. [24:47] I'm sorry. [24:47] They were noticeable immediately. [24:49] I know there's a perfect role. [24:52] The first time. [24:53] My mistake. [24:54] The first time I drove in one, you know, [24:57] I immediately, you know, hands together. [24:59] So maybe what you can incorporate is one [25:02] that has some dune flowers and grass. [25:07] Yeah. [25:07] Maybe we could put by [25:14] the way, so a floral with some beach grasses, but not so much blank space at the time, but what you did was great, and I, you know, I'm the one that's like all about the flowers and everything, and I wasn't even going to say word because, yeah, terrific, don't change, I want to say, if you notice on international speedway, thank goodness they didn't put grass that would then require water, and what's lovely is it's a natural flower to plant and all [25:42] all those little yellow flowers that are gorgeous, they will just take care of themselves. [25:48] It's not going to have to have water and people to mow, so I'm tickled pink about that. [25:55] Helen, do you know what the plan is? [25:57] You know what it's worth? [25:57] No, I don't know. [25:59] In fact, we normally have the lady here that knows everything about plants. [26:04] Yeah. [26:05] Okay. [26:06] I mean, it looks wonderful, yeah. [26:08] And we could certainly do that everywhere. [26:13] Anyway, I literally did this when I saw the flowers that were on those wraparounds. [26:18] Yeah, I did a little Facebook post about just a couple of the boxes [26:21] and people lost their minds, loved it, they think it looks great. [26:24] Yeah. [26:25] There was a couple of comments that are always there, but for the most part it was very, very well received. [26:31] All right, next. [26:32] Okay, two. [26:36] So the next item, it was not included on the agenda. That is the one that we just added and we don't have any details. [26:50] We just received the letter on yesterday, but we believe that since we're having the meeting today, [26:58] we shall have a little discussion and see get your input if you like the idea on [27:05] you know just just to have a discussion. Brief discussion. [27:12] So [27:15] this is we receive a [27:18] letter of interest to lease and develop the city own property at 29 South Ocean Avenue. [27:28] Savier, the PowerPoint. [27:50] That's how it is similar. [27:53] I'm familiar with those people. I've talked to them for quite some time and try to bring [27:57] them in data. They're exceptional human beings. [28:00] Well, let's look at the presentation first. [28:03] Sorry. I got a little excited. I'm glad they came back. [28:08] Okay, Xavier. Now the PowerPoint, please. [28:11] So, [28:19] as I said, staff receive a letter of interest for leasing and developing the 29th [28:24] South Ocean Avenue property for a wind tunnel, is a new entertainment attraction that allows [28:30] guests to experience body flight in a control environment. [28:36] The applicant is the free-fold zone LLC, and we have the property owner here, if she can [28:42] come up and give you more details. [28:45] The free-fold zone, according to the letter, is a family-oriented entertainment attraction [28:51] centered around a commercial outdoor vertical wind tunnel. [28:56] The anticipated investment is approximately 1.3 million to 1.7 million, including all [29:05] the equipment improvement, utility and permittance and all related improvements. [29:11] So, the letter states that they are proposing a list framework, initial list term of five [29:19] years, with three additional five year options to renew. [29:24] Renekonomic terms to be negotiated, we don't have any details on that. [29:29] The ability to construct, install, operate, maintain and improve the wind tunnel and act [29:36] associated facilities and improvements. [29:39] Ability to add a complimentary, family-oriented attractions and amenity in the future soared [29:46] up to the Silicon Mission Approval. [29:49] And they also want the ability to provide food and beverage services and life entertainment [29:57] soared up to approval as well. [30:00] City cooperation with applicable CRA grants financing, permitting utility recommendations, and any other development matters. [30:10] This property, since it is in the CRA, we will have to advertise, do the 30 days notice, before we consider this. And again, I just want you to have the discussion and note, but we're [30:31] doing that we receive the letter and see what you think about this one thing. Thank you, Angela. [30:39] Angela? Yeah. Hey, sorry, you go for it. I just want to answer it. Just to go ahead and [30:46] 29th South Ocean Avenue for clarity is which lot? Is the vacant log between Breakers Park and [30:54] And the parking lot, which Senior Frogs is going, okay, thank you. [30:59] That's the current staging lot, right, for all the stuff. [31:02] Yeah. [31:02] That's for the C-wall and repair stuff we're doing. [31:06] Mr. Wilk. [31:07] Go ahead. [31:08] I'm excited about stuff on B-side, I just wish it was, how far is it from the boardwalk? [31:15] Just about a hundred steps. [31:18] That's what I wanted to hear. [31:19] So, anyway, just as my friend said on the far end there, if we start building this boardwalk up on it. [31:25] Amy just made a good point. It will be on the boardwalk if the new extension goes across. [31:30] That extension will go right in front of it. [31:32] That was one of the other main question. [31:34] And the other question is, so we're letting them increase. [31:37] Is it every five years? Is there some kind of steps with safeguards with the city of these people? [31:42] Aren't good stewards with the city that we can? [31:45] So the lease will have to be negotiated. [31:47] This is just strictly a letter of intent. [31:49] There have been absolutely no terms discussed. [31:52] So that would be- [31:53] Thank you, thank you, thank you. [31:54] No vetoes. [31:55] So I'm excited about it. [31:56] I'm on for it 1,000%. [31:57] If we're not growing, we're dying. [31:59] That's my whole philosophy. [32:01] So thank you. [32:02] Thank you so much. [32:03] This is so much. [32:04] Angela, thank you. [32:05] Is a similar project anyplace else? [32:09] Is one in operation already anyplace else? [32:12] It's not anywhere nearby. [32:17] Thank you. [32:18] If you want to, if you want to, just Jill, come on up. [32:26] Jill laps in 19 sharing can drive. [32:29] There's not currently any operating in the US. [32:31] There's one in the process of being installed, hopefully, in Las Vegas. [32:36] There's one, we had to travel to Latvia to visit the machine and to try it out. [32:41] There's some operating relief Saudi Arabia, one in Ukraine. [32:45] So this will be the first in the US. It's really exciting. It's really neat. There's other versions on the house where but this is the first from this company. Yeah, there's indoor versions all over the place that I fly, but this is an outdoor version. [33:04] And what drove you to want to do this? You guys the group of you. [33:09] My husband and I were skydivers, and we had kids and got away from that a little bit. [33:15] So we started flying in my fly, but it's far away. [33:20] And we thought that it would be really fun to have one nearby and we see all this opportunity [33:25] for entertainment in Daytona and just to drive people back to that area and have them stick [33:30] around and spend more money. [33:32] And I think it could be a really good fit with the outdoor aspect of it, just the pictures [33:37] is alone, of flying with the ocean behind you. [33:41] I think it could be a really good fit. [33:42] My kids love it. [33:43] My nine-year-old twins, they fly all the time. [33:45] It's 100% family-friendly. [33:47] I mean, when we spoke about it in the parking lot, [33:51] I don't know, a month, two months ago on accident, [33:54] it was great. [33:55] I mean, it sounds like an amazing idea. [33:57] It looks fantastic. [33:58] Ever since conversation, I've been looking at them. [34:01] And like you said, there's nothing like it outdoor [34:03] or that exists in the United States currently. [34:08] I've been a proponent of bringing all kinds of stuff [34:10] like that over there, whether it's wave pools, this, [34:13] anything we can get on the ocean over there, [34:15] I think this is a great idea, personally. [34:18] Anybody else have anything to add? [34:20] No, it sounds. [34:22] Where do you go? [34:24] All right, thank you. [34:27] So I know we're early, early, early, early in all of this stuff [34:32] If are we looking to say to anybody that this is something we want to do or make a recommendation to review, you know, or do we have to do the 30 day process first before anything to be done. [34:44] We have to do the 30 day process. [34:46] All right. [34:46] That's my question. What is the 30 day process? [34:49] It's a statutory requirement that we advertise that we have received a letter of interest in obtaining use of property either lease or sale. [34:58] It's statutorily required. [35:01] And then other people have the ability to make bids to come to the table to do that. [35:07] It's basically an open invitation for anybody to come to that table. [35:12] And it's a state, it's a state statute, so it's kind of so that you can't come in and go. [35:17] I'm going to buy this property and we don't find out until next week. [35:22] I'm curious, the one that's in Ukraine, how long have they been there? [35:28] Please [35:32] come to the microphone. [35:38] That version is an indoor version as well, but it's the same manufacturer. [35:42] Oh, okay. [35:47] Thanks. [35:49] All right. [35:50] That's awesome. [35:51] It's very exciting. [35:53] So now we're going to go to public comments, right? [35:59] Next. [36:00] All right. [36:01] We've got to do yours under actual comments. [36:04] So it's coming up. [36:05] You hear it? [36:06] Okay. [36:06] All right. [36:07] Public comments, please. [36:08] just John great let's go John. [36:13] Good to see you and John. [36:22] John looks in 413 North [36:23] Grandview Avenue so apparently you're discussing throwing out all of the [36:28] plans that have been done for the last 40 years for Main Street is that what [36:32] you've just decided I guess we decided nothing. There had been plans for [36:40] hotel at that site. Right now you're going to put in a restaurant and a game. And there's an [36:48] ongoing lease five years plus so many five year leases. So hotel, which is planned for that site, [36:54] we're not going to put in. All right. So I didn't know. Yeah. This is like the second thing. There's a [37:02] there were plans for years to move Hollywood over next to the cemetery so that Hollywood would be a [37:08] straight street and that property then would be joined to the property next to it to have a much larger development property. [37:15] Apparently staff is looking at selling city property on Hollywood to one of the residents there to put a fourplex. [37:26] So that would put a cabash on any development on that larger piece of property so then you're screwing that up. [37:32] So I'm wondering if, I think, personally, if you had the city had plans for things, if you're doing things that screw up plans that I think you all should know about it. [37:45] Like when you gave away the property on, was it all the under for a house for a midtown and then you gave away property on the grand view from midtown or midtown gave away your property. [37:58] I think that's something you all should have discussed. [38:00] So anyway, regardless of that, there are things I like to talk about. [38:06] One, I think it should be a issue downtown just had a presentation by, or the city commission [38:14] for from Jack White on the theory, what do they call it, down, winding down. [38:22] So gave a presentation of things that needed to be done. [38:26] Housing is of utmost importance for downtown. [38:29] Now, I think it is, I'm most important for Main Street. [38:32] You need bodies, you need development. [38:35] There was a apartment complex for this site that's going to be screwed up from a developer [38:44] that was going to be on Ridwood, all right. [38:49] He had a apartment complex there called Something East and then you guys were going to be something, [38:54] no, that was going to be something west, you were going to be something east. [38:57] So they were going to put a parking garage and an apartment complex on this property, but [39:02] not that they won't be doing it if you give away the land or a poorplex. [39:07] So again, I think you should concentrate on that. [39:11] This last item that you passed is that loans or grants because in the past you just gave [39:19] 50,000 away and they just took the 50 and walked. [39:23] So they're not using the term loan, so I'm kind of confused with it. [39:28] They're the same thing or not. [39:29] I can answer. [39:32] Improvements, I think you should target certain locations. [39:37] Because there's some houses in the area, especially Surfside Village, [39:39] that have been worked on that look nice. [39:42] Suzanne used to be on this commission. [39:44] We did her house in another property. [39:47] But there are other houses that you noticeably need some tender-loving Claire. [39:52] So, if you could go to them and have an idea and say, well, we'll pay for this idea, it'll be a silent loan and then would you sell it or transfer it, the loan comes back to the city so we can use it on another house. [40:08] I'd like the idea of having a silent loan so that it could always be used. [40:15] They were meeting, I think it would be a benefit that there be things in the mainstream [40:22] area for residents to meet, to discuss, to talk, whatever, whether it's an event or [40:29] whether it's just a meeting, but the business people talk, but the residents still know [40:34] what's going on and I think there needs to be input from the residents. [40:39] You should start one day. [40:40] Now the white head and I took a walk down and she had, well this was years ago, but she was on the commission. [40:47] But her view was that we have facade grants of $5,000 matching facade grants. [40:53] What if we use that fund 5,000 to go down and hire this man to go down and say, [40:59] if you did this to your building, if you did this to your building, [41:01] and more unified street, whether we want it to be historic, [41:06] whether we want to be modern, whether we want it to be art deco, [41:10] somebody said, whatever it is, the city would pay for it. [41:14] And it wouldn't cost them a dime, but everything would be done at once. [41:18] The entire street would all be done at the same time, [41:21] rather than one person do it this year, another one five years down the line, [41:26] ten years down the line or never. [41:29] The key asks, how and brought this up like 15 years ago? [41:38] More than that. [41:39] So about four or five years ago when Angela got here, [41:43] she started working on the key asks. [41:45] We're still waiting. [41:47] I think you all need an update on when we're and how it's going to come in. [41:51] And that's it. [41:52] Thank you. [41:53] Thank you, John. [41:54] Thank you, John. [41:55] That information that you were talking about that lot, is there any way you could email me that information? [42:01] I appreciate you or share it with Angela and she can share it with us please. [42:04] All right, and that was last public comment. All right, now we'll go to [42:09] board comments and I'll start with you, Laura, if you're ready unless you want me to start. [42:14] I'll go ahead and start. So I would love some pointers on how things get on an agenda. [42:21] That would be a great schooling for me if there's a way for past items that we've talked about, do I need to make a motion to put things on the agenda? [42:35] I'm looking for procedural help here. [42:41] So, the procedure is, and I explained that before, so you send me the items as you have [42:54] done before or any of the board members, and I put it on the agenda as a board comment. [43:04] And the reason why I'm a staff is doing that is because we do the agenda on our city system, [43:11] right? So you all don't have access to create that agenda. So any item that you all need [43:20] once you meet to put it on the agenda, we'll put it without any, you know, problem. [43:27] The only way that it will not be on the agenda is if you send me the request by email and [43:34] And I already sent out the agenda, and that's the normal process. [43:41] You send me an email before I create the agenda, I put the agenda on the board, the [43:47] items on the board comments, and that's how, okay, so to me a board comment is a passing [43:56] breeze on the, on the wind, it's not an actionable item. [44:02] So, how can things be like, we have discussed kiosks for a year that I've been sitting here, [44:10] how does that become an actionable item that the staff then moves forward on? [44:16] Well, kiosks is an actionable item number one. [44:22] Number two, I have said in numerous occasions that the kiosks was going to be part of the [44:29] main street improvement because we need to redo the utilities. So we have a [44:35] hold on the main street street escape because the business we had a meeting [44:40] with the business owners and they need to redo the concept. So the key is [44:48] was going to be part of those new concepts and I you know and it's okay. So the [44:55] The next thing is that Kiosk is not a commission priority right now. [45:00] You know, each kiosk, interactive kiosk is approximately $65,000. So that's something that we need to see if that would be, that would become a priority. [45:16] But it's still an action item because, you know, that's something that I had on my project list. I have a question. Originally, the kiosk, [45:30] originally, the kiosk, [45:32] was just this interesting thing stuck on the sidewalk, it listed the businesses that [45:38] were on Main Street. Why do we have to go to 55,000 and have it part of a larger project? [45:45] Why, while we're waiting for that to be okay? Why can't we simply have something with just [45:53] that we can tell people? Yeah, there's a store that's actually down there because there's [45:59] So many empty stores and when people come in my store that just happened to be staying [46:06] at the Hilton and they had the courage to keep walking, then they go, oh my gosh, I can't [46:11] believe all the things that are up here. [46:13] So that's one of my questions and my other as long as I've got the floor for a second. [46:20] One thing that has really bothered me is for instance on Internet, and it's not your [46:25] fall to Angela, on international speedway. [46:29] We had the most incredible building changed over for the best and it was Beech's restaurant. [46:36] It was wonderful. [46:37] Disney had designed the bathrooms. [46:41] I loved sending people there. [46:43] Then the state, I think it was, decided they were going to change the way you could enter that. [46:51] And nothing was done to help them. [46:53] No way that let the public know. [46:55] Well all you have to do is go up there and turn and you could get in there and the beautiful palm trees [47:01] they put there as the city or the state was digging it all up. They just died one by one and then the building [47:11] went bankrupt and I just think that's such a tragedy and I know you suffered when they were doing [47:18] and many years ago I suffered when they first dug up Main Street and then found out [47:24] part was the county part was the city I wish there was some way that we could [47:30] anticipate these problems and when the kiosk now has been dead for I don't know [47:37] how long and I've given up on it I have other ways of getting advertising but I [47:43] hate to see beautiful businesses that added so much to now their bankrupt let [47:51] Let me address the kiosk again, so I believe two years ago we paid, the CRA paid to clean [48:02] up the actual kiosk that we have, that is a standalone, has four sizes, huge things [48:09] that we can advertise, right? [48:12] and we have two generals information. One is with the grants of [48:20] fraternity and the other one is promoting CODB, City of the Tunna Beach. The [48:26] two other sides are used by Peabody Auditorium with every time that they have an [48:33] event, they advertise it to the used two other sites. I've been working with Mr. [48:38] covering to for him to provide me all the open businesses on Mainstream. And that is the within 10 [48:50] that we can bring those names, you know, with address and everything and place it there. [48:58] And that is ongoing, you know, I need to find somebody that designed that because it's a very [49:09] So I spoke to the CVB about doing brochures or whatnot for the businesses, what other things are going around, and they had a great idea about putting a QR code that way it could be updated as businesses open or close that they're having a hard side on the downtown Beach Street area keeping that brochure up to date. [49:34] So, maybe when you find your poster company to make the, what businesses are there, someone [49:41] could just scan a QR code versus it being a stagnant list. [49:45] Yeah, but I have a question that QR code is going to direct to each business, one webpage. [49:53] So, you know, the problem might be solved. [49:56] So is that become an agenda actionable item because it sounds like you are actually working [50:01] on it that we didn't know that you were working on it. [50:04] So how do we get to know that you have been working with Tom? [50:07] So she wasn't necessarily working with me in the capacity as chair. [50:12] I'm also president of the Main Street Merchants, so she reached out because I have a list, [50:17] and unfortunately not everybody's answered back on it, so I'm having the doorknoc and go to each [50:22] individual business to get those. And so that's where that comes from. But we're working on it. [50:27] We've compiled maybe, I don't know, 20 names at this point, roughly, and we've got a few more to [50:32] I think we've got a total of around 50 businesses [50:34] between the little ocean half section [50:36] that we're going to get and Main Street. [50:38] So does, I know, I'm on the same topic just quickly. [50:42] Does Main Street merchants have a website [50:45] that could have that list that was available by QR code? [50:50] We don't currently have a website, [50:51] but we do have a Facebook page. [50:53] It's just called Daytona Beach Main Street. [50:55] And so we have that Facebook page running currently, [50:58] which we could probably put that list on there. [51:00] We do a it's a volunteer page. So the everybody that's on there that's actually has admin capabilities. [51:07] We try our best to keep it updated and keep you know sharing new things, you know. [51:12] And so we could probably get that up on there for sure. [51:15] Then do like a little pinned topic. So it's always at the top. [51:20] And I'm not trying to be confrontational. [51:23] I just feel like we keep talking about the same things and they never seem to have a point of where we get to hear about it from the city. [51:31] So, let's talk about the parking app that I spoke to the city about during the Citizens [51:39] Academy. [51:40] They said they were working on it. [51:42] It would be great if the staff could present an update on what's going on with parking [51:49] and how we've noticed a couple of parking signs, like just an update. [51:54] Not like what are, you know, this is a finished project, but where are we with this conversation? [52:00] Yes. [52:01] Do I need to make a motion to put that on the agenda? [52:04] No. [52:05] No, I will need to check with the appropriate department and see if they have availability, [52:11] of course, and they come and they present. [52:15] So because that was something that I wanted to talk about, that's why I sent it for an [52:20] agenda is have a staff presentation update on the parking app. [52:23] Yes. [52:24] Yes. [52:24] So that's why I put it on the agenda is so hopefully that could be a topic that was discussed. [52:32] Well, let me, Mr. Chair, if I may, whenever that topic came up, it's been several months [52:39] ago. [52:41] We reached out to a business in Michael Stahlworth and they do not have a, an app. [52:52] Um, in matter of fact, I don't even think they're working on an app. [52:56] I don't want to speak out of turn, but I don't think they have one. [53:00] So our stance to you today is that they don't have one. [53:04] If they do, if we find out some more information, we'll ask them to come forth to say, [53:08] Hey, give us an update on where you are, but there is no use to you. [53:12] You badgering us about something that is out of our control. [53:18] We're not going to be able to give you what you want because there's a total separate [53:24] department that does all of the parking. [53:26] I don't want to. [53:26] And we reached out to them and say, this is what our buyers or board want it. [53:31] Yeah. [53:32] They don't have one. [53:33] And we don't know. [53:35] And they didn't give us a direction on if they're going to get one. [53:39] So we can't tell you something that we don't have. [53:42] I appreciate that. [53:44] Okay. [53:44] Definitely not badgering. [53:45] And now one other thing about the parking, so I did see something, I did see something about the city and the county potentially working together on putting, it was a news story that the Volusia County whatever their parking companies called that the same app is going to be usable throughout the entire city of Daytona in city lots, I don't know whether that news story is accurate or valid, but I just saw that the city lots are [54:15] supposedly going to be working together with Volusia County, so it's all just one thing. [54:22] And I hadn't heard anything at City Commission level of it, so it was news to me when I saw [54:27] the news story. [54:28] I don't remember what station it was. [54:30] From a contract perspective, I have not worked on any contracts that would have anything [54:35] to do with that. [54:36] So I know I believe News Samona Beach was moving in that direction and they may have confused [54:44] use new new smart of each but they don't of each, but I've not worked on any [54:49] car related to that. Yeah, because I did hear about the new smart of one [54:52] too. So that's probably it. So just a quick thing. Does that mean that the [54:59] ocean center parking lot that I can see from my store? We can't use that [55:05] anytime even though it's sitting empty. I know graduation it's used and if [55:10] there's something going on, then of course we can't use it, but the rest of the time [55:16] it's it's empty. So there's not a parking problem, it's a accessibility of the, so have [55:24] we ever found out if we can use that parking lot and then make a lovely sidewalk that comes [55:31] to Main Street and all those people that come to those affairs would be able to come to Main [55:37] I know, I know that Chair Jeff Brower, he and I of the county have talked about that parking garage, and that parking garage, the tenants that occupy Ocean Walk have requested of the county to make it free, but they couldn't have any, they didn't have any appetite for it at the county council. [55:56] Now, maybe that'll change, maybe that'll be there, but as of right now, staff and the county council hadn't had an appetite. [56:03] Jeff is excited about it and he thinks it makes sense, but that's the parking garage. [56:08] What about just the flat land that sits over there and I'm just saying? [56:11] Almost all of that is county land. [56:13] And so we have to get to Lynn or the Ocean Center who actually has like a quasi-lease on that land. [56:22] And so if we're going to get it from them and we could ask the city to do it, I guess. [56:26] But if we're going to ask them to do it, I know personally with Main Street merchants, [56:31] actions, we have leased the lot from them on the corner of wild olive in Main Street for [56:40] our events. [56:40] We've signed a lease. [56:41] I've had to get insurance through the organization to have that accessible to me when [56:46] we close our street for the Main Street Merchants events. [56:49] So I know that there's an appetite for it, but it's only when they don't have something major [56:53] going on. [56:54] If they have something major going on, they have no interest in giving that up. [56:58] So there potentially could be a conversation there. [57:02] I know that every time I've talked to them about opening up the parking lot, [57:06] they've been pretty receptive as long as nothing's going on. [57:09] Yeah, well, that's what I've been asking for a couple of years off and on and nothing happens. [57:14] I will try to get something for you. [57:15] Hey, honey, I love it. [57:17] Hey, Ted. [57:17] A big hug if it works. [57:19] Hasn't there been preliminary discussions on the county renting that lot to the city? [57:25] I mean, we've already talked about that. [57:28] I mean, it's come up quite recently in the last six months. [57:32] It has been a fluid conversation over the last three months with the City Commission about the City manager brought to the, [57:46] I don't know if he brought it to the City Commission or not, but I know he mentioned it and publicly that the county had offered us the city [57:56] to rent their property. We're excited about it. We're ready to go. And then it was, you know, of course pulled off the the table. So they rescinded the off well, no, no, no, we, it was never discussed. [58:13] Yeah. [58:15] No. [58:20] So that's something maybe city manager can speak with the county. [58:27] We're waiting for a direction yeah yeah because that's a conversation that individually [58:33] we can have yeah exactly yeah yeah we had made a commitment by way of the city manager [58:40] After that, if we do get an opportunity to lease it, we would improve it, make it available [58:46] for the surrounding businesses in the public. [58:50] Sure. [58:52] A little bit about parking, because I was going to bring that up tonight. [58:59] I think it's obvious to people, you mentioned that whoever is in charge of parking is Michael [59:07] Stahlworth. [59:07] Okay, and what department is he business enterprise is in charge of parking. So Daytona Beach as a city doesn't have [59:17] a parking czar or a parking department or anyone that is overseeing it as a whole and something that I've [59:28] What was the word not hard done, but it's like badgered [59:35] I'm saying it in a light hearted way and I was saying in a light hearted way that you know, so our hands attack we can't do anything you just got [59:44] We just got to keep bringing it up, right? [59:47] Should we go to the city meeting? [59:48] Hang on, yeah. [59:50] So it's something that I've tried to work on it, you know, from a numerous friends, from here, from speaking to individual commissioners. [1:00:00] Mayor. And I've had opportunities to meet with some staff members also. And I feel like we are [1:00:07] going to see some things soon. You know, I've spoken to at least one commissioner that has, [1:00:14] like, I don't know if it's going to happen at the next commission meeting, but I think soon there's [1:00:17] going to be a discussion about a little more organization of the parking or changing some ordinances [1:00:23] that are missing sections about parking so it can really clarify things and that's kind [1:00:31] of the start because right now if you did have an app what is it really where is it [1:00:36] going to send people you know there's a couple little lots it might send I think it's [1:00:41] part of the overall discussion and I definitely if we need to do a thumbs up for an app it [1:00:46] should it definitely needs to happen. I think it'll kind of come as, you know, we keep pushing. [1:00:53] I'm not saying don't push, but I have a feeling we're going to see some things soon about it. [1:00:57] And the city doesn't have to design and make an app. You know, there's apps and existence that the [1:01:04] city could, you know, you have to purchase it, have a software license or whatever and use it. [1:01:10] So once we have good lots, you know, our lots clearly defined and established and then I don't, I mean, so for me, I'm on the whole. [1:01:19] I think somebody needs to at the city needs to be in charge of parking, I will say. [1:01:22] I think for me with parking, I've traveled around at least the state of Florida with the Main Street organization, [1:01:29] Main Street, Florida Main Street, and we just had our preservation on Main Street in Coco Beach, and they don't charge for parking. [1:01:36] parking. The parking is labeled very much the same way our parking is labeled. There's [1:01:41] really no signs. They don't have a parking app that I know of. But everybody found it. [1:01:46] Everybody got parking. It was there. But the difference there in Coco is it's all open. [1:01:52] There's not a single lot that's blocked off, taped off. There aren't towway signs everywhere. [1:01:58] The only towway signs are in front of businesses, you know, for the business and themselves. [1:02:03] So everything over there was welcoming, you know, so you go, go to those places because all the parking lots are open. [1:02:11] There, there's a lot more levity over there in those things. [1:02:15] So, so I was there for four days, and so I got to walk it, you know, went down to the beach, went over there. [1:02:23] So I think we do have some issues. [1:02:25] I don't know necessarily if, if the apps the solution, but I think opening and signage is definitely the first, [1:02:32] First, the first step in the right direction. [1:02:34] I wanted to add one thing, I was working with a group called right way parking. [1:02:39] The gentleman that runs that used to be head of parking for the city of Tampa. [1:02:46] He's a good Mr. Middermit. [1:02:49] He actually, I set up a meeting with him in the mayor of, I think it's New Samaritan beach actually when I went down for a quarry mills thing. [1:03:00] In general, I've been talking about coming. [1:03:03] They do have an app already because I've seen it going back and forth in the parking business in Tampa. [1:03:10] It's very effective. [1:03:12] It works very good. [1:03:13] It raises lots of money for the city. [1:03:17] It costs a lot of money for the city to maintain these lots. [1:03:20] I would love to have free parking for people, but the problem is there's nothing's free. [1:03:24] You've got to maintain a lot. [1:03:25] You got a re-ass fall that you got a, it costs over $15,000 of space to build when I think Vern is that about correct because I used to be a contractor about 100 years ago it feels so I kind of, I kind of love it. [1:03:41] 22,000 now? Is it 22,000? [1:03:45] Not a garage, a regular parking spot. [1:03:49] Yes, a lot more about million to two million dollars of floor for a parking garage. We're building a 10-story parking garage out in [1:03:58] Tampa, so it gives you guys about two million dollars of a floor now. All right. Laurie, you said several a bit more? Yeah, so I'm sorry we got distracted about the word [1:04:08] app, but I guess the idea would be having a this conversation that we've all had that we've learned a lot about. I wanted to also [1:04:17] So include what the city is saying besides, you know, can be able to give us a couple words about it. [1:04:23] So more of an official conversation that being said, like an official conversation about the, the peer and the advertisement on the peer, we've all complained, we've all said, gosh, there's advertisement on the peer. [1:04:38] And then we get, well, it's city advertisement, there's not supposed to be advertisement, there is advertisement. [1:04:43] So how do we address that and do more than say that there's advertisement on the peer so my question to the city is [1:04:52] How does that become a conversation? How does that become noted more than a board comment that Laura Fee mentioned? How does it become actionable? [1:05:19] If I can, I spoke with Michael Stowth and was the name of the advertisement, the roof. [1:05:29] The roof is part of Joe's crop chat. [1:05:32] So we have a list with them and they are allowed to do advertisement in the pier. [1:05:37] here on the side of the pier. Yeah, and he also mentioned that we may be cautious on putting [1:05:45] advertisement on the pier because we may be. [1:05:50] Yes. So, and that that was just a conversation. [1:06:01] That's that. That is news. I didn't say that miss fire. I didn't say that. I said that [1:06:07] We may be cautious. I don't have the lease agreement. I don't manage the lease agreement. [1:06:12] So I'm just repeating based on the conversation that I have with Michael Stolworth. [1:06:17] Perfect. So the the the peer I was I didn't realize that. [1:06:21] I thought that they only had a lease on the underneath the old casino house. [1:06:25] I didn't realize they had a lease on the entire peer from the from the front. [1:06:29] I'm sure they have an easement. [1:06:31] Well, my understanding is that they at least then that in order to, for them to be able to control who was on the peer. [1:06:41] I'll send an email request. I'd love to see that at least. [1:06:50] I think as far as the advertising on the side, at least in my almost two years on this board, I brought it up a bunch of times because I grew up with that. [1:07:03] I it was like that into my mid 20s. It was it was all there was always colorful [1:07:09] advertising on the pier saying go down Main Street go down Ocean Avenue with [1:07:13] arrows with cool designs very beachy it was always that way so so in my [1:07:19] brain it doesn't look historic at all anymore. The pier does looks [1:07:24] absolutely anything but historic so I would love to figure out a way to get [1:07:29] that wheel in motion, because it would, we'd be putting paint on boards that desperately need paint, and it would be colorful paint. [1:07:39] As I said in past meetings, we could potentially sell each section as a rent to that person, and they replace the boards that are there. [1:07:49] So it takes some of the money out of the city having to pay for these things. [1:07:53] And we have yearly renewal terms. [1:07:56] It's not for perpetuity, or maybe it's a three-year deal. [1:07:59] Whatever it is, they're required to do those things. [1:08:02] There was a process for it. [1:08:04] The process existed before. [1:08:07] The peer, a lot of people don't know this, [1:08:09] wasn't owned by the city before 2004. [1:08:12] For 2004, it was a privately held peer since 1966. [1:08:17] So that peer was run forever. [1:08:20] ever. And then before 1966, it was private for the other people. So I think that we need [1:08:28] to find a mechanism somehow, some way to do that. And I'd love to see that lease if I could [1:08:33] get my hands on it. I'll go through it. And, you know, as a real estate guy, hopefully [1:08:37] I can make sense of it and look at it. So is that now an actionable item? Is that going [1:08:45] to be on the next agenda that we will have some sort of information about the pyramid. [1:08:51] So my opinion, if we want to make it actionable, we vote on it. [1:08:54] You know, that's the only way you get things done. So if you'd like to make a motion, [1:08:59] we say we would like to have information on how we can get that done. That's the only way to, [1:09:04] in my opinion, that's how we got, so I want to go back to something you said about when you first [1:09:09] started. This is why we have our comments. These aren't nonchalant things. That's how [1:09:17] we just voted on the two-way roads. We were getting things done in these comments. So, [1:09:22] I think this is the best avenue and to do it this way. So, if we vote it, it now has to be [1:09:29] actionable. If we wait, there's no action that's needed. So, steering board comments, I say, [1:09:33] I want to make a motion that we see the lease for the advertisements on the pier. [1:09:38] correct. That is my motion. I second. All right. So we will need discussion. So if any public comment [1:09:48] would have to come up first since we made a motion. [1:09:56] That's [1:10:00] for once again. [1:10:03] 13 North Granford Avenue. Thank you Miss Murphy. I've been waiting 40 years for this. Have a good day. [1:10:12] So, if we're doing comments. [1:10:14] Last public comment, no more public, OK. [1:10:17] So, yes, we can discuss. [1:10:21] Right out of my head. [1:10:23] Anybody else? [1:10:24] Yeah. [1:10:25] Anybody else? [1:10:26] Well, this really doesn't have a whole lot to do that. [1:10:29] I know we've been dealing with the homeless issue. [1:10:33] We're not talking about that. [1:10:34] We have a motion and a second. [1:10:35] I second. [1:10:36] No, we already have it. [1:10:37] We're doing discussion on the pier. [1:10:38] Yeah, I'm 100% for that period BC it'd be stupid not to get a copy of that you know what I'm saying [1:10:44] So I'm 100% behind this isn't for the lease. This is for doing [1:10:49] Painting advertising advertisements on the pier and finding discovery on trying how to get that done [1:10:54] Okay, well, I think that would be great to generate money if we can do it legally without being sued by the leases [1:10:59] I think it's a genius idea sir. I think it's a genius idea you came up with so I like the idea of [1:11:05] Um, having the least attached as an agenda item, you know, it could be linked. [1:11:11] And it's a, the next, it's a, it's a long document and there are multiple amendments. [1:11:15] So just letting you know, if you can make it a clickable, you know, a click, [1:11:20] when we get our agenda's next time, have it be an item and clickable. [1:11:24] That's in my mind. [1:11:25] It's just to ask Ben gross what your opinion on our, our city attorney in the same office. [1:11:38] I mean, [1:11:42] I haven't read the lease in terms of signage and what's allowed and not allowed. [1:11:47] So I couldn't tell you there's also the state submerged land lease that also would [1:11:56] impact that. [1:11:56] I would have to look at that because the state is very particular about how [1:12:02] there are subversely and are used for profitable activities. [1:12:06] So, yeah, they might be interested in a roof hanging some advertising there. [1:12:12] Yeah. So, there's, right, right. And as a point of reference, [1:12:19] although this staff can ask for other staff members to attend the meetings, [1:12:24] the staff members are not required to be here unless the city manager authorizes them. [1:12:29] So, that's one of the hurdles this group faces is that they can only do so much. [1:12:39] Okay, any further discussion on the peer advertisements? [1:12:45] No? [1:12:45] We got a motion in second, discussions over and all those in favor? [1:12:50] Hi. [1:12:51] I posed, all right, I just can't wait to hear on that. [1:12:57] So I will finish up with saying that there is a surfside village neighborhood Facebook [1:13:03] page that I created for the residents of Surfside Village. [1:13:10] I would love to have a Main Street business also feel like they could come on and know what [1:13:16] the residents are talking about. [1:13:17] it is a private group because I want it to be for the [1:13:21] neighborhoods, but just so that that's available. I'd love to [1:13:26] come to I really would. We had our first little gathering [1:13:30] and so it's becoming more of a just just for that little [1:13:33] teeny wedge. Yeah, I just want to make you all cautious of the [1:13:39] public meeting laws. No, I can't talk to her, but I can go to [1:13:43] the meeting in here. Right. Right. But just, yeah. Yeah. But just on the Facebook page. [1:13:48] Don't start because that is would be considered a meeting. So don't be posting on the Facebook page [1:13:54] for other members getting into an exchange. Like one person could do a post and another one could [1:14:01] do a post on a different topic. But you cannot be commenting and engaging in a conversation. If just [1:14:07] a word of warning. Thank you so much. Okay. I could say right here to her out loud that [1:14:17] only two issues if we could stop people from putting cat food out because there are [1:14:24] kittens coming up and now they're actually trying to mate, which means we're getting [1:14:29] into geometric progression. [1:14:33] Yeah, that's one thing. [1:14:35] Somebody, and some people know who they are, [1:14:38] are putting cat food all around in my parking lot. [1:14:42] And so they're giving, yeah, okay, that's, [1:14:45] and I'm, yeah, I think you know who it is. [1:14:50] That's, okay, that's one of my concerns. [1:14:54] Another is, there's a dog down the street. [1:14:56] I love dogs, but [1:15:00] I don't like to open my back door, and there's poop in my parking lot. And I have a dog, so I like to be able to. Anyway, that's the two things. Keep the dogs on the leash. And this is a black pit that's obviously had many, many, many puppies. And it just goes to the bathroom, not on a leash on my property in many places. So that's what I was going to bring up to the meeting. So now I don't have to worry about breaking that law. [1:15:30] I also wanted to talk about the breakers park that was on the city commission that they were talking about turning into taking out the fountain that I just wanted that to be a discussion. [1:15:44] So, I went to a meeting a while back, a city commission meeting, and I spoke up at that. [1:15:52] They have, I believe, put it on pause to get rid of the splash pad, and they're looking [1:15:57] into behind the Hilton from what I understand. [1:16:02] There's going to be a workshop regarding Breaker's part, so there's been no definitive decision [1:16:07] of the direction. [1:16:08] Okay. [1:16:09] All right. [1:16:09] So, there you go. [1:16:09] Did, is this the time for us to talk about what we'd like to see, or is that later? [1:16:15] Sure, no, it's always the time. We're here. [1:16:17] All right. Well, I love the idea of a splash pad. Let's clean it up. [1:16:20] Let's take care of it. Let's maintain it. Let's make it happen. [1:16:22] So the major issue from what I've heard from the city commission and staff that I've spoken to about it [1:16:29] is the maintenance of that particular splash pad. [1:16:33] It's basically a fountain, right? [1:16:36] So everybody goes in and uses it as such. [1:16:40] And it's just big jets that come up out of the ground [1:16:43] if you haven't seen it. [1:16:44] And most splash pads that are on beach sides [1:16:48] tend to be more of a closed loop system. [1:16:51] And so they'll have like water buckets that dump. [1:16:53] They'll have different things. [1:16:55] The greatest thing about most splash pads is they're fenced. [1:16:58] And they don't allow adults to go in the splash pad area without a minor in there. [1:17:07] So that would, in my opinion, would help drastically decrease what would go in the splash pad area. [1:17:15] And that'll limit people to just cleaning their surfboards and the showers. [1:17:18] That'll limit people from cleaning their sandals to the showers. [1:17:22] It'll go a long way. [1:17:24] So I think we could do, you know, if we're not replacing the splash pad and putting a whole new splash pad in I think just adding a fence and putting, you know, putting the wording on there, you know, not allowed unless accompanied by a minor however we want to word it, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [1:17:43] Okay, so I think that that would be the first step, right, because that will stop people [1:17:48] from automatically thinking that it's an okay thing. [1:17:51] Because if I were somebody walking up to my surfboard, I wouldn't know that it's going [1:17:56] to, you know, clog up the whole machine and blow up the pumps, but that's what's happening. [1:18:00] So the city staff is blowing through money, replacing these pumps and repairing all of the [1:18:05] stuff. [1:18:06] Plus the splash pad is now long in the tooth. [1:18:08] It's 20 years old or getting close to that. [1:18:11] So they're looking at major issues underneath that are all going to need to be replaced and repaired. [1:18:18] So in my opinion, if we're going to do it, we have to keep the splash pad. Number one, you know, I agree. [1:18:24] And then number two, we got to look at better designs. I went to, it's not on the beach, [1:18:28] but I went to a park in Palm Coast, and that park has one of the most amazing, [1:18:34] It's 26 acres, Frank, something park. [1:18:37] Anyway, their splash pad runs the entire length [1:18:41] of the kids area of the park. [1:18:42] It's beautiful. [1:18:43] It was just completed in 2024. [1:18:45] They're full update. [1:18:46] So yeah, I think it's a great idea. [1:18:48] Yeah. [1:18:49] I love the idea of having a splash pad and a playground. [1:18:53] Yes. [1:18:54] We can have both. [1:18:56] And if anybody can have a splash pad, [1:18:58] we should be able to have one that works. [1:19:00] And assign children 10 years old and younger, no adults, unless with a child or something. [1:19:08] I mean, good heavens. [1:19:09] And then I wanted to discuss e-bikes and the scooters. [1:19:15] And I guess I'm kind of ambiguous and I don't understand the rules of scooters on the boardwalk. [1:19:22] I know I got my very first ticket for rollerblading on the boardwalk. [1:19:26] So [1:19:29] the e-bikes and scooters is a working progress that's about all that I can tell you. [1:19:38] There is a city code regarding scooters and micro mobility devices, you know, the code is what the code is. [1:19:47] I don't know. [1:19:49] There was a proposed ordinance that was going to go to commission, it was not heard. [1:19:53] So again, I believe that's part of the topic of the workshop. [1:19:56] So it is in the Commission City Commission's hands right now. [1:19:59] I do know that it's already a law you're not allowed to ride your bicycle on a sidewalk. [1:20:03] So, I mean, I don't want to over do it, but you're not allowed to ride a bicycle on a sidewalk. [1:20:09] Pretty simple. [1:20:10] Is the boardwalk a sidewalk? [1:20:13] So, for me, again, I'm older growing up here. [1:20:18] I've never been allowed to ride my bicycle on the boardwalk, right? [1:20:21] So I don't know whether it is or isn't. [1:20:23] It's [1:20:32] pretty simple. My brother. Yeah, you're right. Oh Lord. All right. Thanks, Laura Tim. Anything? [1:20:40] Sidewalks again. There's sidewalks on Main Street and people have told me they've always [1:20:46] Almost been hit by somebody zooming by. There's there's signs all up and down Main Street [1:20:52] And I think they just redid them that say no bikes on sidewalks. Okay. You're you're not allowed to have a bicycle in the state of Florida on a sidewalk [1:21:01] It is dangerous and yet tourists tell me motorized will you got anything additional to add one thing about your own and this is this is something [1:21:12] I'm not too sure about because I've I'm in this the fact is there was a thing at the last city commissioner about the [1:21:20] homeless issues on the boardwalk. How is what's going on with that now and is there I had to deal with one recently because [1:21:29] I helped people with addictions and one old gentleman, I guess he was like 70 years old. [1:21:35] He had collapsed and they thought he was an addict so a guy proceeded to spray him [1:21:39] in the face with mace. [1:21:42] He wasn't an addict, he was actually having blood sugar problems. [1:21:46] He looked like he was homeless because he was cutting his grass and decided to walk to 7-Eleven, [1:21:53] but that walk somehow he fell and collapsed and somebody actually sprayed him with mace and [1:21:58] told him that he was, you know, a dirt bag. So is there possibly they could work towards a more [1:22:03] humane way? And I actually read a case where guys sprayed a lady and I don't know if he got [1:22:07] charged or was a police report on it. I sent that to the mayor. Is there, is there any kind of steps [1:22:14] we're doing to help clean up the boardwalk? He mainly, I don't think they're doing that there. But [1:22:21] is there, we got to really help those businesses there because if they're all camping out with the [1:22:24] children and families are it's really going to hurt the boardwalk. [1:22:31] Passing me? [1:22:33] I'll know. [1:22:34] No, I'm kidding. [1:22:36] The police have been down there quite a bit, and I think they're doing it very [1:22:40] humanely. [1:22:41] I think they're doing a fantastic job. [1:22:42] It wasn't the police. [1:22:43] It was an individual sort of like a vigilante group. [1:22:46] Regardless of that. [1:22:47] I mean, we can't do anything about that, but I'll tell you the boardwalk itself from the [1:22:55] winter of 2025 to now is unrecognizable from what it was in a good way. So whatever they're doing, [1:23:05] you know, keep it up. I think they're being humane. I think getting it that way. The place is [1:23:11] cleaner. It's better looking. The bathrooms aren't, you know, just completely inundated with people [1:23:16] in them that go belong in them. They're still, I mean, they're still a long way to go, but it's way [1:23:22] I just, you know, I'm worried for both ends, but I'm really worried for the children and families because that's really what makes us, you know, this city of Daytona VH is bringing kids here. [1:23:31] So would this be a chance to request some numbers and facts at the next meeting about what's happening in the beach side police bicycle task force? [1:23:49] They do a report quarterly, and so they just gave us a report, and they said that just [1:23:57] in the first month that there was a hundred arrests, right? [1:24:00] And so here we are, we're only in August, so maybe give them, you know, they'll probably [1:24:05] come back to us in September or October anyway, just because that's what they're supposed, [1:24:09] yeah. [1:24:09] Yeah, so I would say it's coming, you know, because they said quarterly reports, and that was our April report [1:24:15] So it's got to be coming up soon. Oh, [1:24:21] I've already spoken enough. No, it's fine as an observer. I [1:24:30] Think this meeting's probably the most unique [1:24:34] Since I've been on the board [1:24:38] You know [1:24:40] It's really up to you folks [1:24:43] To put it to the city [1:24:46] And so they can get the answers for you to answer your questions. [1:24:53] It's, you know, it's a tired saying that, I don't know, the answer should be, I'll get [1:25:02] you an answer. [1:25:06] And I commend every one of you up here because state tona, this is one of the things that [1:25:13] hurt state tona. [1:25:15] is the downtown area and a lot of people saying I don't know and I commend every one of you and that's all I have to say. [1:25:29] Sammy? [1:25:31] Okay, so I'll just kind of kick off on that note. I do, I try to ask my commissioners and I know we each have one commissioner that we, [1:25:45] the, you know, is art for our area, whichever the one that happens to be. [1:25:50] But emailing a commissioner, especially if you have, you know, if you can find a responsive [1:25:55] one or two, is a great way to communicate to staff, because they're kind of early days [1:26:02] on with staff. [1:26:03] And I understand, you know, we're sitting up here, we can ask these guys certain questions, [1:26:06] but it is kind of the city manager kind of, you know, can decide what, like, who needs [1:26:13] to come and talk to us and the answers, so, but I would encourage everybody to, you know, [1:26:18] call your city commissioners, establish relationship and ask questions and you'll be surprised [1:26:23] how much information you could get. And, you know, sometimes the stuff that I come with [1:26:29] is conversations that I've had with city commissioners and that they've brought to me from staff, [1:26:35] so that's also a good way to get things done. Or to learn things and then bring them to share [1:26:44] with us. [1:26:46] Let's see, what do I want to mention first? So one of the things I, you know, I kind [1:26:51] of knee jerk this past, you know, a week or two ago was I was in the post office and I looked [1:26:58] out at the wayfinding sign that was still like this from Hurricane Milton. And I, you know, so I took a [1:27:07] picture sent it in to see click fix and the answer was that we're about to get bids [1:27:13] on repairing those signs. Do you guys know anything about that? [1:27:18] So I believe what you're referring to are the original ITB, the contractor that was [1:27:26] selected, did not fulfill the contract, didn't even really start. And so they did have to regroup [1:27:33] and try again, so there was no fault of anybody in the city. [1:27:38] Right. [1:27:39] It was just the times going on. [1:27:42] But I thought I'd mention that for anyone who's seen that sign [1:27:44] or there's problems. [1:27:45] I think there's a few of them that need to be repaired. [1:27:49] Hopefully that's going to happen soon. [1:27:54] Okay. [1:27:54] The streetscape we talked about a little bit. [1:27:58] But the bike week master plan revision was discussed at the last city commission meeting. [1:28:08] The revision that was done back like two years ago, July of 2023, and it popped up again [1:28:18] and there was a discussion about it, a little confusion back and forth, whatever, but it wasn't [1:28:23] discussed as an agenda item, but it was, you know, Rose was there to take questions and so on, but I just wanted to let people know that the revision, I think I don't know if it'll be on the next city commission agenda, but I think it's going to come up again soon. [1:28:38] So if you have input or interest in what that revision is or you want to kind of refresh what it was in your mind and say anything during the meeting when it's presented. [1:28:50] keep an eye for that item coming up because that definitely affects our area and you know I have two or [1:28:56] three cents about it and I'm contacting my commissioners and about anything that I am interested in [1:29:05] on that topic so that's that and the other thing I did this past you know week was I you know the [1:29:14] business about the show windows on Main Street having unsavory, you know, t-shirts and items hanging. [1:29:28] And, you know, none, you know, we're all adults here, but we do understand that there's a level [1:29:34] of what we want to present to families and what we want to bring in, and nobody wants to be the party [1:29:39] but there's got to be ways to address this. [1:29:43] So I just asked A.I. which I hate to do it because like, you know, [1:29:50] an artist and I hate to, you know, I just hate to give up and ask A.I. [1:29:53] But there's a lot of information you can gather. [1:29:56] So I asked A.I. the question, has any meanness [1:30:00] Pallity, been successful in controlling or limiting adult themed displays in show windows, visible to the public, or are such displays completely protected by the First Amendment. And, you know, there were, there were some answers of ordinances and things in other states and cities that actually passed muster depending on how they're written and how they're well crafted and the limits. [1:30:30] So I thought it was interesting enough and positive enough that I shared it with one of my commissioners and I'm hoping that something will come of that at least the discussion won't end there with, you know, what we've been told before is that if we don't want to get, you know, generalizing, but if we don't want anybody to sue us, we let them put what they want in the windows. [1:30:53] So I'm hoping that that discussion will carry on. [1:30:58] So that's all I think. [1:31:00] There is an answer to that. [1:31:01] I simply told the people that rent from me, that offends me. [1:31:06] I don't want it in my store. [1:31:09] If it's not totally offensive, if you want to have it in the back, [1:31:13] where the public can't see it. [1:31:15] But you- [1:31:16] The store is talking about that. [1:31:17] I understand that, but I can only control what my property is. [1:31:22] and I simply said I don't want it there and it's not there so yeah all right [1:31:31] Mr. Gary how far have we gotten on the Christmas decoration discussion that we [1:31:39] have concerning Waller something to decorate a one-a for the holidays [1:31:46] on anywhere because we kind of talked about it at the end of last summer yeah [1:31:51] And I sent the request to David, and I included you. [1:31:57] Because I've called him and left him a message. [1:31:59] There is an RFP for the city's holiday lights displays. [1:32:05] I would have. [1:32:07] That'd be nice. [1:32:08] I don't know what was included in that. [1:32:11] In terms that they provided a geographic areas of what they went decorated or not. [1:32:16] But I can get that information. [1:32:19] That'd be nice. [1:32:19] And I'm going to follow up with David again, because I know when speaking to David at one of the meetings is like you got to get started at the beginning of the year. [1:32:28] I did. I actually got started last year. [1:32:32] So, you know, just seeing what all these other cities are doing and the impact it has during the holidays, especially, [1:32:38] Turkey Rod, you know, we got some people in town. It's actually a busy time of [1:32:43] year. It's it's and makes a nice impression on visiting tourists and you [1:32:49] know they might want to come back again. And to that point on the lights, and I've [1:32:53] mentioned this before, October they were up early for a [1:32:58] Biketoberfest this last year. And when Bike Week rolled around, I had so many [1:33:04] customers and vendors that came and we're so disappointed we didn't have those lights up in March. [1:33:11] So again, when we're looking at these RFPs, potentially looking at having them all the time, [1:33:17] just like Beach Street, you know, I don't see any reason why we don't. It would look beautiful. [1:33:23] You know, you get some lights that have the ability to change three colors and I know we've [1:33:27] talked about it before I won't spend too much time, but yes, great idea. Let's just get on it. [1:33:30] I think the state is looking to move forward with eventually doing landscaping on A1A. [1:33:41] I don't even know what to say about A1A. [1:33:43] A1A is a mess. [1:33:44] It is. [1:33:46] Someone in the city actually told me there were 50 change orders. [1:33:51] They have taken a $15 million project and probably ballooned it past 25 million. [1:33:56] It is incomprehensible that something like that could turn out so pathetically bad. [1:34:01] that. Everybody is complaining about it. The signage, reworking the streets, it's embarrassing. [1:34:08] So now we're going to talk about landscaping. Maybe it would be good to get ahead of [1:34:13] the landscaping issue and have someone from the city who's responsibility will be to maintain [1:34:19] the landscaping, get with the people from the state, and make sure we do something that's [1:34:23] nice appealing and easy to maintain because they did not make ISB easy to maintain. That [1:34:31] is a lot of work and I guess our plate is full. It's hard for us to maintain anything that we have. [1:34:36] It's an uphill battle. So let's try to make it a little bit easier to maintain. This way, [1:34:42] you know, it'll look appealing throughout the year without a lot of work. [1:34:48] Let's kind of piggybacks on the little kiosk idea, which not little, but the kiosk for Main Street. [1:34:53] I said that if we were ever to come up with some unified idea on marketing a calendar for [1:35:02] all of our events throughout the whole year, we've got the overpass going to the Ocean [1:35:06] Walk, and then the peer thing was obvious, I don't know why I didn't think of that before. [1:35:11] There should be some kind of year-round calendar even on the peer itself showcasing what [1:35:18] Daytona offers. We've got Beachreach. We've got all kinds of stuff going on in Daytona. [1:35:32] Some of these tourists don't even know. It's actually happening. So it'd be nice to have some [1:35:37] kind of simple unified calendar on the pier and maybe the other pass going to Ocean Walk. [1:35:44] Let's see, fighting, [1:35:48] and the only thing that would be left was just badgering about the [1:35:52] lighting again. [1:35:53] That, I will, that, because we're terrible at it, and it's not the city's fault so much. [1:36:00] FPL is a terrible corporate partner for Daytona. [1:36:05] It's embarrassing. [1:36:06] They should be ashamed of themselves, actually. [1:36:08] I complained about 20 lights before the summer. [1:36:12] I said, you know what? [1:36:12] it be nice, maybe we improve our safety appearance going from the shores to ISB. I call back another [1:36:21] month and a half later. I think it was two months later. What's happening? Are we doing anything? [1:36:27] Or, you know, we're just trading notes on people's deaths. Hey, this needs to be addressed. So [1:36:33] anyway, that's a constant problem up and down all of it. If you don't give the appearance of it being [1:36:39] well lit and safe. You know, what do people think when they come here? Half of our lights don't work [1:36:44] half the time. I had them come out to the cemetery. I don't come out to the cemetery because there was [1:36:49] a bunch of lights down and they they maintain all those lights. Literally the the line was broken. [1:36:54] They came out and fixed the line and the lights don't work. So they fixed the line and all the lights [1:36:58] now flashed. It looks like a haunted cemetery. [1:37:03] It's like, call them. I'm like, guys, why? Oh, we didn't [1:37:05] didn't realize I should have. Okay. I see lights flash on day 1 a for a month and a half, [1:37:10] two months. I said, not your tape, anybody but me. All right. [1:37:19] Thanks. I had one more thing to say. [1:37:21] I'm sorry. I want to say that 150th birthday party for Daytona Beach was out of this world. Well, [1:37:28] done. It was a great experience. We attended, I think, everything that the city had given us to attend [1:37:36] and it was just all of it was a chef's gift. [1:37:38] So good job, city. [1:37:39] Yeah, I thought it was great. [1:37:40] I went to all four days as well [1:37:43] and it was a lot of fun. [1:37:45] Went to each place, went to Cypress Park. [1:37:48] What's Cypress Park called now? [1:37:49] Is it still Cypress Park? [1:37:51] Yeah, okay. [1:37:52] I went to Cypress Park pool. [1:37:53] I thought I had a different name now too. [1:37:54] What's the, the gem that's there? [1:37:56] Yeah, the cherry. [1:37:58] The cherry, the cherry, the cherry. [1:37:59] Cherry center. [1:38:00] Yeah, so I've got to go in there. [1:38:02] I hadn't been in the building before, [1:38:03] but I got to check that out. [1:38:04] Yeah, super nice the did the water slide, but we played at this pool in this flash pad until the thunder came and then we had to bolt [1:38:11] Yeah, but it was it was fun. One short. Yes, I'll one short thing. I wanted to [1:38:17] Commend all the other members on this one. I was really kind of impressed with you and you know all of you actually [1:38:23] We all [1:38:26] So we're starting a way of getting something done and making me laugh at the same time at the same time [1:38:31] I wanted to thank Angela and Ken because they've done so much [1:38:34] at the same time because years ago when I was here in the, I know some people like the Chisholm era but it wasn't really good for me and I had to mix up at 326 South Grandview to where my church is now it was there was a dividing line put down the middle where half was made residential and half was commercial so I couldn't I come and try to put my church and I ran to it was before Angela then after Angela when Angela got here Angela found a solution [1:39:04] said, oh, it was a mix-up in the New Sandy Manager. And Ken, I'm not going to always pick [1:39:10] one in Badger Ken today, but I might actually give him an up here, because he actually [1:39:14] solved that problem and helped save my church, so I appreciate you both. Thank you. [1:39:19] All right. Thanks, Will. And we should have Anne stand up here and give us some of the [1:39:24] answers, too. [1:39:27] Maybe next meeting. I have something, Mr. Chairman. [1:39:32] I have something also to add, September, our next meeting is September 9th, and it's the same date as the public hearing, the budget public hearing. [1:39:43] So we will have to either cancel this meeting, the next meeting, or reschedule. [1:39:48] It is up to you. [1:39:53] In my opinion, I think we've got to reschedule it, right? [1:39:57] I don't think we cancel it. [1:39:59] We've got so many things going on, and next thing, you know, after September, we're in October. [1:40:02] So I think we have to re-schedule. [1:40:05] We've got bike toberfest coming up. [1:40:07] We've got a lot of stuff to talk about. [1:40:09] This master plan thing is there. [1:40:11] We've got some actionable items. [1:40:13] So I don't see that any way that we cancel it. [1:40:16] So it will be the schedule for the following is the 16th. [1:40:22] Oh, so I'm not going to the public commission meeting. [1:40:26] No, that's what we're saying. [1:40:27] The meeting that the new to the, it was moved [1:40:30] So the 9th public hearing is the point of public hearing is on September 9th and the 23rd. [1:40:39] Oh no that's the 2nd. [1:40:43] The city commission meetings including the budget hearings are being moved to September 9th and September 23rd. [1:40:50] So they're not happening at all on the 1st and 3rd. [1:40:54] Do we have a motion to move it to the 16th or do we need one? [1:40:58] So we don't need a motion and we'll definitely have to double check that this room is available on that day. Okay. All right. [1:41:05] It should be, but I don't know the 16th of the second, just in case it's the second option. [1:41:11] I'm like a second option. I'm okay with either. I don't know that staff would have enough time to do Wednesdays, but I don't know. [1:41:18] Okay, 16th. 16th. It should be free because normally it is a city commission meeting, but we just need to confirm with a quick. [1:41:26] But this is quick. Where Teresa used to have property, it's just an empty building there, [1:41:35] and it's a parking lot. I've had tourists ask me, will I be towed if I just parked there? [1:41:41] There's no sign at all on that, I don't know if it was a garage. [1:41:46] It's next to the- [1:41:47] You mean a garage from Boothill? [1:41:48] Yeah, exactly. So I had now two occasions where tourists said, [1:41:54] and I parked there, is it legal? [1:41:56] Will I be towed? [1:41:57] It's private property. [1:41:58] I have a property. [1:41:59] Yeah, it's private property. [1:42:00] They probably take their tickets. [1:42:02] It's a roulette. [1:42:03] Yeah, it's not city property. [1:42:07] And it's privately owned. [1:42:08] That would be just like if I decided to park [1:42:10] behind your building and you're parking lot. [1:42:12] Yeah, you know, it's fine. [1:42:14] Yeah. [1:42:14] But I mean, so do I tell that there's- [1:42:17] You need to know how that took start. [1:42:19] Right. [1:42:19] Oh, yeah. [1:42:20] It was okay. [1:42:29] Yeah, yeah, I don't think it's within our part of you, I, I, yeah, I just was curious [1:42:34] if anybody knew, yeah, all right, I'll be super, super brief. [1:42:39] I just want to, again, thank everybody for staying late and appreciate everybody's hard [1:42:45] work on making some decisions, you know, in the, I feel in the, you know, a few months [1:42:49] We've been doing doing this as chair I appreciate how we're all coming together coming up with great ideas staff [1:42:56] Been super accommodating everybody just is doing a great job. So that's all I got not gonna add anything else today. Thanks
