four discussing decision on approval of
[0:49] item a resolution number 24-1 1619 a
resolution of the mayor and Council of
[0:55] the city of Douglas cois County Arizona
declaring and adopting the result of the
[1:00] primary election held on July 30th
2024 Miss Andra can you walk us through
[1:05] this please yes thank you Mr Mayor
members of the council pursuant to
[1:09] article 9 section 14 of the city Charter
the election results are being declared
[1:14] in canvas within seven days after the
primary election held on July 30th
[1:18] 2024 the final unofficial results issued
by KES County uh Department are included
[1:25] with your
resolution they have um obviously this
[1:30] is the final unofficial because they
still need to canvas their elections the
[1:34] canvas date for them will be August the
9th which is Friday after that the city
[1:39] of Douglas will receive a certification
of the canvas results um the votes or
[1:46] the vot cast will not change so that's
why we took the liberty of including as
[1:50] part of the resolution to be compliant
with the city Charter
[1:54] Pro um for record uh the mayoral seats
we have council member I'm sorry Hala
[2:03] with
1,82 votes Mark mermis as a writing
[2:07] candidate with
129 for council member W one Melissa
[2:12] Rodriguez with
193 council member for w three Dan a
[2:17] Costa with
252 council member for w five uh three
[2:24] individuals Michael valegro with 110
Marcus menen with 54 and Maria dilman as
[2:31] a writing candidate with 14 votes a
certificate of election will be issued
[2:36] to the following individuals
tonight Jose Gala is Mayor Melissa
[2:42] Rodriguez is council member for w one
Dan a Costa is council member for war
[2:47] three Michael wenro is council member
for w
[2:51] five and the exact election cost figures
are not available currently and the
[2:58] information can be provided at a future
