[0:29] I call this meeting to order. My name is Greg Holbeers. I'm the mayor of Fort Mitchell. To the left is our city attorney, Olivia Amlon. To our right, the city administrator. Okay? That's what's right. Is our city clerk. Can we go? Good evening. Amy, could you please take a roll? [0:47] Mr. Arlinhouse, here. Mr. Daveridge. Mr. Dietrich. Mr. Lee. Mr. Knockhasell, here. I will make a motion to approve the agenda. [1:09] Motion by Council Member Daveridge, do I have a second? [1:12] Council Member Dietrich with the second. Any discussion or changes? All in favor? Please stay out. [1:19] Anyone opposed? Motion carries. Next is the approval of the men's for August 31st, 2026 meeting. [1:28] Do you have a motion to approve? Motion to approve. Second. Council Member Rooting and Council Member Berger with the second. [1:35] Any questions, changes, etc. All in favor? Please stay out. [1:40] any more of those? Motion carries. Next on our agenda says some guests with [1:46] anybody like to approach council. Hearing none, we will move on. Next is our city [1:53] internship report, Ms. Amla. Okay, only two things on the agenda this evening. [1:58] First up, we have a first reading award of 2026-13 which is a meeting chapter [2:03] is that being three to regulate unlike requested and other devices on city sidewalks. [2:09] So councilors, we discussed last meeting. [2:13] This event is essentially what it is, we'll give the mayor authority to create a walk [2:19] your wheel zone. [2:21] So I think as we discuss something I would be interested in is creating that zone on [2:25] between the road and we would do it for, you know, just to throw out approximates, you [2:32] will begin, 45 minutes in the afternoon, [2:34] and the school lets out. [2:36] This is a first reading, so no action in the evening. [2:39] If anybody have any questions or comments, feel free. [2:42] This can also apply to pretty much anywhere [2:45] within the city. [2:46] Absolutely, correct. [2:48] And my approach, as long as I'm there with this, [2:50] is that if council, you know, if I have an idea, [2:53] or you all have an idea, bring it to me [2:54] and I'd be certainly happy to do that. [2:56] Sure. [2:56] Yeah, and I think they're in the initial discussions [2:58] in the passing of the ordinance [3:00] It's a hopefully and put it on record with the rest of them. [3:03] I think that this is going to be fluid. [3:06] It's a new, it's going to be some changes that come about. [3:09] And that's the reason I wanted to do it this way. [3:12] Is that way we don't have to head first and second reading [3:15] every time. [3:16] So this gives us the ability to put something up. [3:18] It's working great. [3:20] It's not working. [3:20] We can remove it. [3:21] Or to your old point, we can look at other areas as well. [3:25] When we talk about, sorry, when you talk about [3:27] piece of a writer, are you talking about, of course, [3:28] piece of a writer? [3:29] Just a portion. [3:30] Okay, you're trying to just call. [3:31] Exactly. [3:32] There we go. [3:33] Get the highway down to probably [3:36] what's one point. [3:38] Yeah, it was one close. [3:39] So no, okay. [3:40] That's not what I'm taking. [3:41] Okay, perfect. [3:43] It's a question. [3:45] Well, and I always look at other there the other day. [3:47] They have that half an hour window [3:49] when you can't turn left. [3:50] And it's like, it's the same, [3:52] but I would probably do it 15 minutes before [3:54] because that's when those people are doing, [3:57] you know what I mean? [3:57] That makes sense. [3:59] I have had a conversation with Superintendent Kaiser about this, he's in support of this as well and he had mentioned that if assuming we do pass this, he'd be happy to send out information to families and communicate it to kids, etc. [4:21] Okay, next up on the attorney's report, we have municipal order 2026-10 for the surplus [4:27] of various equipment. [4:30] You want to know the particular one? [4:32] Yeah, it's just, just in the four random things, we've got an old trailer, the fire [4:38] fire used to use, they, since they were a larger trailer now, which is an exciting fact. [4:46] We're suppressing that on the gut deals, some side cars, garbage cans, and then there's a commercial ice maker in the fire bay that is no longer operable and we're still doing that. [5:04] Council, any comments or questions? Motion to approve? I'll make a motion to approve. Council Member Deathrich, do I have a second? [5:10] Council Member Ardenhouse, any additional discussion? [5:16] Any, could you please do roll call to. [5:20] Boys vote? [5:20] Okay. [5:21] All in favor, please say aye. [5:22] Aye. [5:23] Any other opposed? [5:25] Motion carries. [5:26] Moving on to the marriage report, this will be short tonight. [5:30] I will be contact in District 6 again this week pertaining to the State of Ohio. [5:35] We've met with them regarding a few other things. [5:37] and you know it's on the radar but we have not heard a timeline yet which is frustrating so I will [5:44] continue to follow up with them. Officer from Gallup has put his retirement. He will be [5:49] retiring at the end of the month so we have an internal candidate to fill the SRO position [5:56] of each one so he will be meeting with the future owner for the century for informal winter. [6:03] Road Drive is open, as you all know. Probably end of this week. The gate, the [6:10] grace of the developer will be removing that gate at the end of the week, so I [6:14] think we're full go from that respect. All right. Moving on Mr. King. I just have one [6:21] thing that we're closely watching with the price of diesel for Galen. [6:31] As you [6:31] charge, but the waste is going to be and it's average of $5 for, I'm not pretty much average. [6:40] So we're closely watching that as it has been on the $5 for gallons, so I'll keep you [6:47] informed that you think we're going to provide that search up to them, that will be in the [6:52] actual margins. [6:57] Moving on, comments from Council. [7:04] Next on our agenda, the department heads. [7:06] Chief Flusher, do you have anything? [7:14] Good evening, Mayor and Council. [7:15] Just a couple of quick updates. [7:18] Six of our, this year's high school interns began coming to the fire department on August 24th. [7:23] Schools represent their Beachwood, Dixie, Covecat and Ignite. [7:28] We currently have three members. [7:29] You're currently enrolled in EMT class and all three are doing very well. [7:33] Four additional members are enrolled in the fire basic one, fire training. [7:37] And again, all are doing very well, getting a lot of positive comments back from the instructors there. [7:41] Today started our annual ladder testing that will continue through tomorrow. [7:45] We have a third party coming here to recertify all of our ladders used on all the trucks as well as the area truck up there. [7:52] And finally, October is fire prevention month. [7:55] This year's theme is charge into fire safety. [7:59] Kind of the curriculum behind that is how having smart choices every time you plug in a device can prevent with theme of high on battery fire. [8:07] We've had a lot of schools and daycare started to reach out. [8:09] We have a bunch of other visits already scheduled, but if anybody out there needs us to kind of give a safety presentation, we're more happy to do that. [8:18] Council, any questions from the Chief? [8:20] Thank you. [8:21] Thank you. [8:21] Thank you very much. [8:22] Chief Nader. [8:26] Sorry to steal your thunder. [8:29] Mr. Christopher? [8:32] Awesome. [8:33] Mr. Tewis. [8:35] Ms. Gunther? [8:36] No, I don't have anything to thank you. [8:37] and I conclude the Department of Health reports. [8:40] With that, I will say first, happy anniversary to Ms. Berger, [8:44] who are you on in her husband's marks of congratulations. [8:46] Thank you for attending tonight, [8:48] despite your anniversary stuff. [8:50] I will add the motion to adjourn. [8:53] The motion to adjourn. [8:55] Council member Rodin, Council member Berger, [8:57] all favor, please say up. [8:58] Anyone opposed? [9:00] Motion carries. [9:01] Thank you all very much. [9:02] You got big plans.
