[0:00] call our August 10th meeting to order. If you all rise for the pledge of [0:03] allegiance [0:08] to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it [0:13] stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for [0:19] all. [0:25] Kevin Scramlin here. >> Janelle Keller, [0:28] » excuse me. >> Teresa Bills [0:30] » here. >> Jim Christopher [0:31] » here. >> Keith Weerhold [0:32] » here. [0:45] All right. Approval of a agenda including additions [0:50] and changes. The only I need to add on my part is make it letter D. It's just [0:56] informative. It's less. I see Janelle put it in the packet, but she did not [1:01] put it on the agenda. So, Kevin, one thing I'd like to add to is [1:08] a financial audit on the new fire department [1:16] » on the department or the >> the new station. [1:19] » Station. Anybody [1:30] else? [1:35] » I'll make a motion that we approve the agenda for August 10th with the two [1:40] additions as noted. >> Second. [1:44] » All those in favor? I >> opposed. [1:50] » I'll open public comment. Anybody have a comment at this time? [1:54] » Mr. D, >> has the bar made a decision on whether [1:58] to sue Oakland County? [2:06] » Has the board made a decision on whether or not to sue Oakland County? This is [2:10] public comment. So, >> uh, regarding your transit [2:15] Yes, there has been no there's not even been any talk of it yet to be honest [2:19] with you all. >> Has anybody done the oath of office when [2:24] you took office? >> Yes. [2:26] » In there it says that you hold the constitution of the United [2:32] States. >> I will tell you at this time when I [2:35] talked to you before our lawyers advised us against that. [2:38] » I don't care about the lawyer. Well, >> we as a board, we can discuss it at some [2:45] point. Well, if our legal council is telling us not to drag this township [2:49] into a financial burden to do it, our board has to take that into [2:53] consideration. That's the reality. >> Let him pay for it. [2:57] » Why would our attorney pay for it? >> Because he's our attorney. [3:02] » Our attorney is not going to take down free. [3:05] » It's his job to uphold the Constitution. Well, I'm not I'm not here to argue with [3:10] you. I'm just telling you at this point, the board has not talked about it. Our [3:13] attorney advises us against it. [3:19] » It's a fraud. >> I I'm not arguing with you about the the [3:23] tax. >> You're just going to go ahead and let [3:27] the fraud happen? Millions of dollars get taken from the taxpayers. I I think [3:33] in the meeting that you had with Terresa and Bill, it was explained that we have [3:36] to follow certain guidelines and if we're instructed to collect these taxes, [3:40] we have to do that at this point. That's true. And you should sue to get the [3:45] money back or have a new election. [3:50] That's another possibility. >> As a board, we will discuss it at some [3:55] point, but at this point, we have not have to do it now. [3:58] » We don't have to do anything right now. >> Yes, you do. No, we don't. [4:02] » It's the Constitution. >> Well, we will have it at a meeting. [4:06] We've been down this avenue with you before, and I'm trying to be polite [4:08] about this. I really am. And I agree with you on a lot of points. I do. But [4:12] as a board, we can only do so much. >> You can uphold the Constitution. [4:19] » If it was that simple, I think everybody would be doing it. And they're not [4:24] » supposed to represent us. >> And I think we do a good job of [4:27] representing you. >> I don't think so. [4:30] Well, that's your opinion. >> Anybody else? [4:37] » I have a written statement. Um, unfortunately though, my computer is [4:41] acting slow. Um, and I I'll just wait until the second time. I just had two [4:47] separate comments today if that's okay. >> Sorry. [4:52] » Anybody else? I'll post public comment. [4:58] No consent agenda. So [5:03] you want me to Okay, the consent agenda. I looked through the um accounts [5:10] payables, the general fund of just over 94,000 does include uh the Holly Library [5:18] annual fee which is just under 12,000 and the road commission um 43,000. [5:26] That's tri county or that for paving for I'm sorrying for something [5:33] » but it's it's road commission and we do pay that every year. So those two um are [5:38] account for more than half of the accounts payable for the general um fire [5:44] [clears throat] is just under 34,000 and trust and agency um that 1,500 is for [5:51] permits for projects that are on escrow for um rotten manner and other things. [5:58] And then the revenue and expense report is included in there. Um I didn't see [6:04] anything out of the ordinary. Um, and then the treasur's investment [6:09] report. All I can really say about that is um that interest rates are still at [6:13] about three and a half to 4% for most things that are uh invested right now. [6:19] So any questions from the board? [6:25] » I'll just make a motion that we approve the consent agenda as submitted. [6:31] I'll second. [6:36] » Chemist Garland. >> Yes. [6:38] » Teresa Bills. >> Yes. [6:39] » Jim Christopher. >> Yes. [6:40] » Keith Leader Hole. >> Yes. [6:43] » Presentations business [6:48] would be discussed. Township and fireboard meeting minutes. [6:56] Laura, I think the only thing I have under The supervisor report you got ROC [7:03] for road. It should be RC. [7:20] Nothing else. [7:27] » I'll make a motion that we approve the ship and fire board minute meeting [7:31] minutes of July 13, 2026 with the one change as noted. [7:39] » All those in favor [7:44] » let's see uh national fitness campaign. So what you will see [7:54] just how the world works. Janelle and I had talked about maybe looking into [7:57] putting a uh [8:01] fitness park back here with our playground. [8:04] And as luck would have it, National Fitness Campaign reached out to me [8:08] probably about a month ago now. And what stemmed it was all the uh traffic we [8:15] have on the trails back here. So, it's a $50,000 grant. Um, [8:22] and to back up a little bit, some of you may not even know, but the state [8:25] actually owns half this back here right about the end of the Isn't it? [8:31] » So, we've talked to the state and the DNR. Uh, so far everything seems [8:35] promising there. So, I think we're in good shape there. [8:40] For round numbers, it's about 200,000. [8:44] But when I tell you that they've got 25,000 figured in for the cement slab, [8:50] obviously we can get the dirt work and stuff done. um and $30,000 [8:57] to assemble it, which I talked to the guy in Graham Point. They did one that [9:01] only cost him$10,000. So, there's money we could peel off of that. [9:06] And I have Damascus, we just had a meeting on the other day to start [9:10] looking into other revenues, grants, and maybe some corporate partnerships or [9:15] sponsorships to try to round more money out. But um they only do 10 of these a [9:21] year in Michigan, so they're gone this year. And they tell me we more than [9:25] qualify for it. Um but they want us to get our paperwork [9:30] in. So at the beginning of the year, we can be at the top of the line to try to [9:34] get one next year. So that's the information. Feel free to [9:38] look through if you got any questions, ask me. But I need to uh talk about a [9:42] resolution from the board so that we can apply for this grant. It is nonbinding. [9:47] If we did the grant next year and we decided it's too much and we can't do [9:50] it. We don't have to take it. [9:56] » So, go ahead. >> Did you want [10:01] » Well, I was just going to say, have you visited the one in Grand Blank? [10:04] » I have not. >> Do you know where it is? [10:08] » I think it's right here. that park. [10:13] » There you go. >> Park. [10:17] » Um, as long as it's a non-binding, [10:22] » you know, >> thing, you know, if we can back out of [10:24] it, it doesn't cost us anything. >> No, it don't. [10:26] » Um, because I would hate for us to commit to something that [10:30] » Sure. No, >> doesn't fit nicely back there. And also, [10:35] » you know, we have to look at the budget as well. [10:39] » Did you say the was for 50 grand. >> Mhm. [10:45] » And we're and we're going to talk to some other people about trying to get [10:48] more money for it. But I do I do think it'd be a great thing for the community. [10:53] » Well, I definitely like the idea. >> Yeah. Just if we can figure out all the [10:57] finances, but but the woman has been adamant and about us just trying to get [11:02] in before the end of the year so that we're at the top of the list because [11:05] they go they go out quickly. So, have you and Janelle looked at um [11:10] other options? >> I talked I talked to somebody last week, [11:14] but they said it probably be two to three weeks before they got any quotes [11:17] back. >> Okay. [11:18] » So, sometime in the next couple months, we'll have [11:22] » So, we will have a few other options as well because this looks like a um [11:27] a pretty big >> platform like [11:32] » Yeah, I think it's 38 by 38. >> Use Must [11:38] be recycled [11:57] » looks pretty cool. But um I I would like to see it in person myself. Um just to [12:02] see if I can envision it back there how it's going to look. [12:17] motion. [12:21] I'll make a motion that we pass resolution 2026-017 [12:28] authorizing the submission of a grant application to national fitness campaign [12:33] on behalf of the township of one. [12:38] » I'll second that. >> All those in favor [12:50] See biz it's uh Janelle did not I think print off the report. If everybody wants [12:55] one and get one I can tell you I read through it. It's 50 pages of fund [13:00] » but ciz is our retirement benefits for the township. [13:08] » We usually u no problem. [13:13] » Long story short um we are very well funded. Um [13:19] the board has always made it a priority and we will continue to too because a [13:23] lot of municipalities their death blow is getting behind in their retirement [13:28] cost. So we're actually overfunded by 250%. [13:33] But that's a little bit misleading because it's starting to peel off a [13:36] little bit with former supervisor diploma and chief Mason of course are [13:41] collecting now. We do have more people collecting, but this is the overall [13:47] summary sheet. You want to read it? We're in a good spot and we continue to [13:52] stay in a good spot. [13:58] Um, [14:01] » no. I mean, I think that that's pretty much the gist of it, but they they do [14:05] base this on an annual uh wage increase of 3% per year. [14:11] » And they're saying that our return was 18.86% [14:17] 6% annual actual rate of return for one year, which obviously we know that that [14:24] may not be sustainable. So it it is nice to be overfunded, but at some point the [14:31] market may not be as strong and it it can change. But [14:38] um at this point if all we're doing is accepting the report [14:42] » Yeah. There's no changes needed. So [14:50] motion to accept it. >> We need a motion to accept it. [14:54] » Oh, I'm sorry. Said we do. I thought >> Do we or don't we? [14:57] » We don't. Just for information. >> Oh, okay. All [15:04] right. D Lexiple. Um, so I gave you guys some information. Actually, Stacy [15:10] brought this to me. So, you're going to see what Lexipole is [15:15] basically is a giant grant [15:21] software is basically what it is. So, you can join and have access to it [15:30] for $1,500 a year. You get five, correct me if I'm wrong, Stacy, five users. [15:39] I got a good >> sounds right. I don't know if that was [15:43] the $1,500 one or the one. I made myself. [15:48] » Yeah, $1,500 a year to get five users. their other programs. Um, [15:56] so for $14,250 for two years, so it's about it's [16:01] about7,000 a year. They will write two large grants a year for you. They will [16:06] also review uh five other grants that you write. You can send it in to them [16:11] and they'll tell you, I think you should change this or that. Uh you actually get [16:15] a person assigned to you uh that will come out and meet with us, talk about [16:19] our township needs and uh and help you that way, too. [16:25] Like I say, Stacy brought it to me, but the more I looked into it. [16:29] I mean, we do have a small office and these grants will drive you crazy [16:34] because you never know when they're starting, when they're coming up, when [16:37] they're ending. I I don't even know how many grants we miss that we don't even [16:41] know about to apply for. So, that's what piqu my interest. I know a lot of areas [16:48] around here like Oxford or I grant you they're bigger than us, but they [16:52] actually have people on staff that that's all they do is write grants. Um, [16:56] so I guess what piqu my interest was maybe this is something that could help [17:00] us get the big deposit money. [17:04] But it's for information tonight. I want you guys to read through it. If you have [17:08] any questions, please ask me. Stacy, is there something I'm missing you like? [17:13] » Did Did they go through all their database and all work together. Yeah, [17:17] » it's it's a huge database. Every grant both federal, state, local, and [17:22] foundation grants. Um, and like you said, finding the grants is the hardest [17:27] part of the job or part of filling them out. Um, and they have a database with [17:33] all the start and end dates and send, hey, this one's opening up. Um, I mean, [17:39] we get the big ones, the AFG and the discretionary funding and some of the [17:43] other stuff we find through MTA or the state of Michigan on [17:47] Wednesday updates, but they're hard to find. Their database was pretty [17:52] extensive, but all the grants probably. [17:56] » Yeah, I did talk to a supervisor by Sageno, one by Mount Pleasant, and and [18:03] they both had tremendous success with them. In fact, one of them got three new [18:06] police cars, one got half a fire truck with a million dollars, bought half a [18:11] fire truck. Um, I I just think it's something the board maybe want to think [18:16] about. Um, something we can look into, but if you have any questions, please [18:22] ask them. You want to talk to the lady that I be [18:26] glad to give you her number, too. >> Is she the lady whose name is here? [18:31] » Yep. [18:37] » So, when are you looking at possibly doing this? I'm going to be gone next [18:42] month, so it'll probably be October or something. We'll bring it that way and [18:45] see. But I wanted everybody to have time to look at it, do their homework and see [18:50] what your thoughts were. [18:54] » And this the same one that I talked to. Y [18:57] » um if you want to zoom in and she can show you their whole program and how it [19:01] works. They can do a Zoom meeting and show you all the different areas and [19:04] what they do. It's >> pretty impressive. [19:08] » Yeah, it was. I was actually pleasantly surprised when it was done. [19:12] » They're usually pretty quick. You've got a day, you know, usually about 30 [19:16] minutes or so, they can go through the whole [19:19] » system that they have. >> Sounds pretty. [19:22] » Who would be the users? >> Like it says you get five users. [19:29] » Sure. >> Who are you thinking are the users? [19:33] » You. I'm assuming me. >> I mean, it says you get at least five. [19:38] You get like you don't have to use all five, but I'm just wondering who who [19:42] were you thinking were going to be the users. [19:48] » You're going to be [laughter] one. Okay. >> Well, I'm sure we'll have to have a [19:53] couple from the fire department >> in in two or three years. [19:58] » I mean, everybody might as well do what we can to gain as much as we can. [20:03] » Yeah. And there are some people Motorola that I talked to last month. Lex Pool [20:08] has been around for a while. Um I looked into them a couple of years ago. [20:13] A lot of people only like the Motorola grant only goes through Lex. Oh yeah, we [20:18] can get you your radios, but they're the ones that help find the grant to pay for [20:21] the radios. Um and they don't do it any other way for grant services like that. [20:27] um as one of [20:32] » Okay. Um well, I will say I noticed how many villages have failed [20:39] around here recently and you know I don't know [20:45] what would happen around here, but I like the idea of being able to find [20:51] funding through alternative sources rather than having to look at possible [20:57] ing of the mill because we wouldn't we wouldn't need to put that to a vote [21:00] that's already been approved but we you know we don't want to raise that [21:04] millillage but I would like to see us get some more money so if this is a way [21:09] that we could do that without having to look at raising millages then obviously [21:15] you know >> that's a great thing [21:18] » that that was my thought and like I've told John and Stacy we got to throw as [21:21] much stuff at the wall and see what we can get to stick [21:25] » it just takes an exorbitant amount of time to do these grants. I mean, [21:28] » especially >> especially the big four months, the big [21:32] ones are tough. >> Yeah. [21:34] » The easiest one is the Michigan DNR is one page. [21:38] » Two sentences. >> Yeah. [21:42] » And as I talked to other supervisors, I mean, it sounds like the key to them big [21:47] grants is having the right verbiage in there. And what those words are, I don't [21:51] know, but that's what them people do. You have to have the hot hot item that [21:55] they're looking for that here and >> the right wording. [21:58] » Sure. >> All right. [22:01] » Okay. So, this is just we're just thinking on this [22:03] » information. Yep. >> Want to take a look at it? Bring it [22:07] back. >> Okay. [22:11] » Keith, you had something you want to do? >> Yeah. I think we're close enough to the [22:15] end of the project that we should start thinking about a financial audit. [22:21] There's several reasons why, but um from a construction standpoint, we need [22:27] to make sure that we've got what we bought. [22:30] » Sure. >> We need to make sure that everybody's [22:32] been paid all the subcontractors down the line because they can [22:37] they can come after us later. As the owner, we're the only ones that have [22:44] receive any benefit from the property in the end. So, it's it costs more to build [22:49] it's ultimately us, right? [22:51] » But, um, we need to just check all those boxes. [22:56] This is the largest thing we've built here since the last fire station. [23:01] » It's a pretty pretty big investment. Um, and we it's granted it was before you [23:07] and I got here, but but this is a little unconventional how how they did it [23:11] » and how they I'm not sure I don't know what the contracts look downstream, what [23:16] they look like. >> And when it's public money, I think we [23:19] need to be pretty transparent with that. >> Sure. [23:23] » More transparency the better. And um >> yeah, we have we have nothing to [23:28] » No, I I don't I don't think we do. Would it like [23:34] » Ken? Probably. >> I think he would. [23:36] » I think he's I think he would. >> I can call Ken. [23:39] » Yeah. >> If not, we can go from there. So, before [23:43] we get 100% done and we release final retention and payments, make sure that [23:48] we got >> everything that we expected, that it's [23:51] all that John's satisfied, punch list is done. you know, any defects or anything [23:57] is taken care of before we release any of that money in that we get. I'm not [24:01] sure how they did their billings with people that subcontracted to Barry. [24:07] But in my world, we get a sworn statement, [24:10] » right? >> We exchange it for [24:15] » that that has to be done every time we get ourselves in a jackpot. [24:21] We got diligent the processes [24:29] this wasn't exactly done with AIA documents or anything there's processes [24:33] that should be followed that that are well established in the court so we [24:36] don't get ourselves into a situation being pursued [24:43] um we had we've got money in our budget line for audits I don't know if that's [24:48] where it come from the audit legal line but [24:52] if it's the same line that your audits come [24:54] financial aid does with you. But there was there was still some money in there [24:58] for the year. If if we don't need that, maybe we can pull out of there. If not, [25:01] transfer from general fund included that. [25:07] » Yeah. And also there might be some money still budgeted for the new station and [25:12] perhaps it could fall into that bucket as well. I don't know. We have to look [25:16] into that. >> I'll I'll do some investigation. I was [25:21] try to figure out what's the move forward, [25:25] » right? >> So, should we should we make a motion [25:28] that >> that we'll do one? [25:30] » Well, we might wait till we get the prices [25:34] » for an audit. >> Yeah. [25:36] » So, wait till next month. You want to come back and revisit it? [25:39] » Yeah. Well, we'll get prices that way. >> Okay. I think that's fair. But I do [25:46] think that something along these lines is [25:49] definitely in order because Barry's going to be done and he's going to be [25:53] walking away from the project and then >> Well, no, I'm all for I have [25:59] I have no reservation. >> Well, we need to know what we're going [26:03] to >> Yes, we do. [26:10] Did you have anything? Okay. [26:15] Thank you. Keith, >> did you have anything for assistance? [26:19] The boss needed any reports. >> She didn't leave me with anything. Did [26:22] she leave you? No. Um, so no, nothing for a year. [26:27] » Then what do I do for >> uh Brandon? It's very simple. Um, [26:30] because it's been summer, they didn't meet um they didn't meet in July. And uh [26:36] tomorrow is the meeting. It's their annual picnic at Crossman Park for um [26:42] the stakeholders, you know, the board members, etc. Um and then and Kevin and [26:47] I will both be attending that. Um September Fest on September 12th, uh [26:54] BGYA will have a booth um I think from 9 to 3. and also the [27:03] fundraiser at WOJO which took place at the end of May, early June. Um, [27:10] can't remember the dates, but probably around May 31st or June 1st or [27:13] something. Um, they raised about $130. So, thank you to anyone who went to WOOS [27:20] that day for that weekend for um spending and mentioned BGYA. [27:26] And that's it. Keith Planning Commission. [27:30] » Um, we approved the project for Stevens Land Trust on on Big Sky Drive. [27:35] It was approved with no well, no subject. [27:40] And we work more on the solar ordinance, [27:45] which is still not complete. Work on it. It's the fourth month. [27:56] No Z supervisor um task force one funding the [28:02] Mavis building over there when they did the state budget they cut a million [28:06] dollars out of their budget. So they've obviously reached out to all [28:11] fire chiefs and everybody else to uh ground support [28:16] to try to get this million dollars back. So, if any of you would like to drop a [28:21] letter to Representative Mark's office because we've talked to uh David about [28:26] it. Obviously, we all know what a great asset it is to have task force one here. [28:30] We'd like to keep them here, but I think it was one of them deals. I don't think [28:34] they had any idea they were going to lose it until it was passed. [28:40] Anything else on that, John? I know you've talked to other people about it. [28:44] » No. Well, I haven't heard anything more from Chad. Okay. [28:49] » So, I mean, he's still looking at doing the training grounds out out and back. [28:55] So, I think he's hopeful, >> right? [28:58] » I'm sure they are. >> They they have enough in their coffers [29:01] to sustain them for a couple years, but it definitely take a hard hit and they [29:05] won't be doing any out of state. >> Sure. [29:07] » So, because it takes multiple years to get recoup their funds from that. [29:11] » Sure. uh road diet. They are going to be here [29:15] in October to present to the board on Dixie Highway. I've met with some other [29:20] supervisors about that, trying to figure out what our best avenue is to uh try to [29:26] handle that. So, lot still to come on that, but they will be here for the [29:31] October board meeting to present. Um the library, join the library network, and [29:37] if you don't have new cards, you need to go in there and get new cards. They sent [29:41] me an email the other day. Did our first tire clean up. We got 439 tires that [29:46] day. So, it worked out great. Uh the next one will be August 29th in Brandon [29:51] Township Park on Hadley Road. Uh the last NOAZ is coming up September 12th in [29:57] Stone Pontiac in Oakland County. That's the last one for the year. So, if [30:01] anybody's got anything they're looking to get rid of, that will be the spots. [30:06] Uh community picnic August 29th. Hope everybody can make it that day. We are [30:11] rounding up some sponsors. I think I got $500 so far. So, we're getting there. [30:16] We're getting there. And the last thing is Holly School sent a love letter to [30:20] the clerk's office this morning that they're going to have a millage on the [30:23] board in November. So, you'll get another one to [30:28] That's all I got. Laura, did you get a clip report? Um I only and this is [30:35] coming from Janelle and I. We would really like to thank um our election [30:39] inspectors. Um every year they do a wonderful job keeping everything in [30:44] line, following all protocols. So a big shout out to them as well as Neil [30:49] Lachlin. He uh he was a rock star for us um for early voting and on election day. [30:56] Um, and then just to let you know, our turnout for early voting, we were only [31:00] at 34%. Uh, we were 12th lowest in Oakland [31:05] County for coming out to vote for the primary, which is sad. [31:12] » What about what? >> That was 34% [31:17] » overall. >> Overall, [31:20] » so that that's fairly typical for a primary. Some news counties are a little [31:24] higher, some are a little lower, but um it has improved with [31:30] a lot of absentee ballots, but when I first started in this first office back [31:36] eight years ago, [clears throat] the primary was like 20% turn, maybe 20 [31:42] 24% turn. That's primary. Is that is it because there wasn't anything major? [31:49] » Well, there there was major [31:54] It's a primary. I don't know. I don't know what people are thinking. [31:59] » I do have >> I do have one more thing I'll throw in. [32:02] Janelle actually gave me this the other day, but 123 net had sent us a letter. [32:08] Um >> for the bead. Is it bead? [32:13] » Yeah. >> Did you get it? [32:15] » Uh I I haven't had a chance to read it yet. [32:17] » Oh, gotcha. Okay. Well, long story short, um it says commencing engineering [32:22] permitting and construction activities within your jurisdiction uh as part of [32:27] the federal broad broadband expansion project. Um so the purpose program is to [32:33] act access to highspeed broadband infrastructure and improve connectivity [32:38] for residents, businesses and communities institutions with [32:41] underserved and unserved areas. So maybe in the next [32:46] couple years we may get more fiber in the township and have a little better [32:53] internet for everybody. So we just got that. We'll see what they come back [32:58] with. Uh I just have a couple things. Um just [33:04] summer taxes are due on Monday, September 14th without penalty. Uh [33:10] [clears throat] the July board of review took place a couple few weeks ago and um [33:17] I want to thank my [clears throat] folks who are uh on serving on the tax board [33:22] of appeals. We do need another person as an alternate which we call them an [33:28] alternate but you really would be present for all of the things. We have a [33:32] December board of review coming and then next March I'm definitely going to need [33:36] another person to be appointed to that board. So, if you feel like maybe this [33:41] is something you might want to do, um, let let me or supervisor or the assessor [33:47] know. And we did have three applications uh for poverty exemptions here in the [33:53] township. Um, one was approved, one was incomplete and [34:01] given an opportunity to come back to the December board and one was denied. So, [34:07] as with anything, um, people can go to the Michigan Tax Tribunal if they are [34:14] not happy with the decision made by the local board of appeals. So, just wanted [34:19] to let you guys know that because, you know, if if people are exempted, that's [34:25] um it's not that it costs you more, but we have certain parameters we have to [34:31] work within. And, you know, we're not allowed to just grant all kinds of [34:35] things will. So, That's it for me and I do want to do a [34:40] shout out and thank my deputy Angela because she's very diligent and um she's [34:46] always that smiling face here when you walk in the building, right? [34:51] Not the only one, but she's the greeter most of the time. [34:54] » Well, some days she's the only one. >> Some days [34:58] » the only happy one for the only one. >> The only happy one. [35:03] » She does a great job. And that's it. [35:06] » That's it. >> We'll open public comment. [35:13] » Your time to go. Are you ready? >> Yes. This is my first one. I just want [35:19] to say good evening to the members of the board. My name is Carrie Smith and I [35:24] do reside at 715 East Holly Road in Groen Township and I'm here tonight to [35:29] establish a critical strategic path ahead of the upcoming planning [35:33] commission meeting on August 17th. I request that this statement that I'm [35:38] making along with the detailed regulatory data packages compiled by our [35:42] active resident coalition GTRA submitted to the township offices be formally [35:47] entered and attached to tonight's official meeting minutes. As citizens, [35:52] we have done and will continue to do absolutely everything in our power to [35:56] protect the community we love. We've invested our time, our energy, and our [36:00] independent resources to safeguard Groveland's borders. Now, we are asking [36:06] that this board do its legal due diligence. We formally request that this [36:12] board direct our township attorney to thoroughly review the GT track [36:16] documents. The mandate for our legal council must be clear, ensure that every [36:21] protected measure set back and zoning restrictions slated for review by the [36:25] planning commission is legally defensible, airtight, and as strict as [36:30] the law allows under the Michigan zoning enabling act. Furthermore, if other [36:35] municipalities have successfully implemented ordinances or workable and [36:39] compatible ordinances that offer a more restrictive protective guideline than [36:44] what we have found, we ask that this board not settle for the baseline in any [36:48] area. We ask that you expend your time, your political will, and your legal [36:53] resources to actively improve upon the foundation that GTRA has built. Our [36:59] defensive window under the current moratorum is closing and the pressures [37:04] of the state public act 233 are real. We do not want a legal draft that simply [37:10] checks a box. We the residents for lack of a better word I wrote demand [37:15] a regulatory framework that serves as an unassalable shield for our taxpayers, [37:21] our infrastructure, our natural resources, especially our aquifer and [37:26] our health and safety. The community has brought a solid foundation to your [37:30] doorstep through GTRA. We look to this board to apply the necessary [37:34] administrative and legal scrutiny to turn the citizen research into [37:38] enforceable law, local law, and improve on it if the township lawyer or any of [37:43] the board members know of or find more strict safeguards than what is in the [37:49] GRA documentation. That was what I was going to open with. [37:54] Can I ask to do a second or not? It's Thank you. [38:00] » Thank you. I appreciate that. So, I just wanted to tonight address a [38:05] matter of urgency [clears throat] regarding the um the data center [38:09] regulatory packet that was presented to the planning commission and ask that [38:13] this statement would also be entered [clears throat] official meeting record [38:17] is a community although that we've spent months and the residents of Groveland [38:21] and community hope are requesting a close review of the July 20th 2026 [38:27] planning commission draft submitted by Wade Trim. It will be deeply concerning [38:32] if Indian loopholes that favor big business over the safety of Groveland [38:36] Township residents exist. Please make sure that the use of weak conditional [38:41] phrasing like to the extent feasible is not written in our final adopted [38:45] documents and there is no lack of rigid caps on noise or of our aquifer [38:50] protection that will act as an open invitation for tech companies to exploit [38:54] our zoning laws. This brings us to a fundamental issue of transparency and [38:58] accountability with our retained planning consultant. W Shrim planners [39:02] are hired to serve as technical guides, but some of the language in the packet [39:07] seems to reflect more corporate friendly framework, not an unsalable shield for [39:12] our residents. So instead of tailored rigorous protections, we have to make [39:18] sure that we have not been handled a boilerplate text that reads as if it [39:22] were written by the data center lobby itself. I read the four pages today on [39:26] master plan. I'm interjecting that and there are some things in there that were [39:30] pretty good but it's still only four pages page 42 to 46. It's only a [39:34] synopsis. So, and that was posted May 19th. I just still like to see because [39:39] time is ticking for the moratorum that by the way I'm so grateful that you guys [39:44] did implement. So, I just want to ask this board and remind you to [39:48] collectively hold a strict fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers of [39:52] Portland. Your ethical structural obligation is to ensure that the [39:56] professional planners we fund with our tax dollars are working directly for the [40:00] township and its residents and that they don't hand us anything recycled or [40:04] boilerplate and don't leave us open for tax companies, utility developers like [40:09] this and big businesses to mess us up here in place. Thank you. Thank you. [40:16] That's what I'm prepared. Anybody else? [40:22] » Any official who cannot live to live up to or care to [40:31] support people should resign. [40:36] » Thank you. Anybody else? >> Go ahead. [40:42] Um, one thing that I want to warn you on as public starts seeing our G track work [40:51] depending on software you use, you get different answers. [40:57] We've been challenging each other's work and I had just had one more surprise [41:02] today. [41:05] Surprisingly, uh, Google's opinion of [41:14] I totally disagree with it. It's like they're trying to promote [41:21] themselves. [41:24] » So you may get comments from the general public who've only looked at one source [41:30] that totally contradicts. [41:37] Oh, I don't trust the surprise from our [41:41] governor at the very end. Please don't wait till next year. [41:47] She may fear the change will keep 233 and a half [41:54] a dozen other horrible things there. [42:02] Anybody else? [42:06] All right. Close public comment. Thank you, [42:11] » Tracy. Favorite motion. >> I'll make a motion that we adjourn the [42:16] township regular board meeting and we reopen for the fire board meeting. [42:24] » I second it. [42:27] » All in favor? >> I opposed. [42:31] Anybody's John, it's all you. [42:36] Thank you. Thank you for hearing me tonight. Uh [42:45] first apparatus and equipment. We finally got the rear leaf springs [42:49] replaced on engine two and got it put back in service and it's doing much [42:56] better. Ladder one originally failed its ladder [43:02] inspection and Jeremy had gone through and tightened up [43:07] some fittings that were leaking on it and it was retested in his past [43:12] inspection. Alpha 3 had the patient department [43:16] heater pump replaced and Alpha 487 also had the same thing. We do have another [43:22] one on order. Alpha 7's batteries are being replaced. [43:27] Alpha one front tires are due to be replaced next week. Uh the air trailer, [43:34] we replaced a battery maintainer and we had MES out to look at the [43:42] carbon monoxide sensor on it and they're ordering some gas because they I guess [43:47] in that system it takes an exorbitant amount of gas to to clear out the system [43:51] and reset that sensor. And I did replace that solenoid and [43:56] » with no avail. It didn't help. >> You didn't change it? [43:59] » No. >> Unfortunately. [44:02] » Got >> they they told me that it didn't have [44:04] anything to do with the faulty sensor and shut off, but I I'm not quite so [44:11] sure about that. So, we're still doing more research on it. [44:15] Seems to be the the never ending gift. [44:21] order rebuild kits for the intake valves on engine one and two. They should be in [44:24] by the end of the week and Jeremy will be replacing those. And hose testing is [44:29] scheduled for tomorrow. And usually they're pretty quick, so they'll should [44:33] get most all of it done tomorrow. Maybe just a couple little straggler pieces on [44:37] Wednesday, but uh personnel [44:43] with ended employment with Sam Oliver and David Watts effective July 31st. [44:50] Nick Burgess continues to be on leave until September 1st. [44:56] We also request to reinstate former employees Nate Brown and Ryan Sensor for [45:03] uh shifts at the Renaissance Festival. Ryan Settzer's a medic full-time on [45:10] Brandon Fire and and Nate Brown is worked with us last several years [45:17] the festival >> and they've been here before. I mean, [45:19] they got all the paperwork and stuff. >> Does it require a motion? [45:25] » Yes, it does. [45:31] » Make a motion that we rehire Nate Brown and Ryan for the Renaissance. [45:37] » Second. [45:41] » You can give it to Jim. [45:47] » Teresa Bells. Yes. >> Jim Christopher. Yes. [45:50] » Keith Beerhold. >> Yes. [45:51] » Kevin Scramlin. >> Yes. [45:58] » All right. Kill Kruall has passed his EMT and is now licensed through the [46:03] state and he is enrolled in Mcome Community College firefighter class. [46:08] That's he's the individual who we are sponsoring through with the [46:14] reimbursement. >> Gotcha. Contract. [46:18] So, he passed his licensing. >> Yep. [46:20] » Good for him. >> Y smart kid. [46:22] » Good. >> He'll fit in well once he gets done. [46:26] » Um, new station IT proposals. John's here. We haven't gotten the other [46:31] one back. >> Yeah, we were going to decide tonight [46:33] while John's here. John, would you talk about your proposal? [46:37] » Sure. >> Because you you've met with me and John, [46:41] so you know, we know anything about it. [laughter] [46:44] The um well, what would you like me to do? You talk through the proposal or [46:48] just talk a little about all about the project and what needs to be done. You [46:51] can just go through your proposal, what you need to do. [46:54] » Go through the whole proposal. [47:21] I'll go through the the scope of work. Um I'll review that for you. I tell you [47:27] everything that we plan [47:34] detailed objectives uh are as follows. Provide equipment installation, [47:39] configuration, and testing of one 48 port uh pro network switch or POE, one [47:47] smart UPS, one eight outlook outlet PDU, one watch [47:54] card firewall and two 24 port patch panels [47:59] to mitigate access looping within that on the configuration provide [48:05] as many as five VLANs configured and tested. um set up necessary ACL or [48:12] access control list. These are all security measures um with 802.1x and IP [48:18] reservations. For the most part, no one's probably going to understand any [48:21] of this. This is to comply with the Michigan State Police Command Center. Uh [48:29] yeah, the cyber command center, I'm sorry, their recommendations for [48:33] wastewater, fire, police, and traffic. for local and city ordinances [snorts] [48:41] configure uh intrusion detection and protection with whit listing and geo [48:48] fencing. So these are again measures of um geo fencing is to protect from bots [48:54] from all around the world that are trying to penetrate your networks. [48:57] Um and these all comply with MSP cyber command center firewall [49:03] recommendation best practices. Um remove and replace document all default [49:09] usernames, passwords and certificates. Ensure all AI connected remote admin [49:14] access is authenticated and multifactor authenticated. [49:19] The um provide materials installation testing and labeling of 27 cat 6 [49:25] Ethernet connections and eight cat 6A Ethernet connections. It's a higher [49:32] grade cabling utilized will provide more bandwidth in the wireless access points [49:39] to maximize their throughput will require that it's a little bit heavier. [49:46] Um in addition to that uh provide materials, installation, testing and [49:50] labeling of one uh cat 6 connection for the county emergency. This is one of the [49:57] last add-ons. I don't know if you were in the office that day. Um, this is the [50:01] county radio, the 2A radio updates that they do over the air. [50:05] » Um, Jeff had reached out to the county. I can't recall his name. [50:11] » Paul. >> Paul. And he said that you guys needed [50:14] to provide cabling only. They'll redo the configuration on the so we've [50:21] included that as well. um provide uh equipment installation configuration [50:27] testing and an active design. We've done a predictive design right now. An active [50:33] design is post installation to be able to tune out the system. So the channels [50:38] correspond with one another. They have optimal overlap. [clears throat] [50:43] Um of eight um ubiquity triband Wi-Fi 7 wireless access points. Uh also provide [50:52] three SSIDs including production, guest and IoT. [50:57] You know what the production is, you know what the or the guest is. The IoT [51:00] will be for some of your other devices that you have there. Your cameras will [51:03] probably take that slot for your security system. [51:07] all provisions within the command center recommendations [51:11] um implement um pre pre-shared key PPSK for all three networks. Uh WPA3 is [51:20] available with product. Um there's something that we would probably we've [51:25] got a couple things in there in the product. There's one thing within the [51:28] command center um recommendations, the cyber command center recommendations [51:33] that I shared with Jeff is not at the moment you have to have a radius server [51:39] and we would need to probably see if you guys have one. He doesn't think that you [51:43] have one anymore the way that you guys are using email. So, but you have it in [51:49] the product and the ability where you can update that uh if you end up with [51:56] previous server Microsoft provides it to you know things that nature. So, um if [52:02] you guys do have one it's easy to implement um It's just a it's kind of a [52:07] flip of a switch and rerouting the traffic. [52:11] In addition to that, we've [clears throat] got uh so we've got some [52:16] grounding measures with rack and we have um perform those and grounding [52:24] and then provide Synology NAS um which is a network areas uh I'm sorry network [52:31] area storage um which rig one this is just everything you guys do uh document [52:38] wise, pancake breakfast, all you know, anything that goes outside of um storage [52:43] in your your portals that you have. Um so you can keep those and reuse them. Um [52:50] [clears throat] and then uh 14 uh provide install configure 14 uh daily [52:59] desk phones. Uh I think seven of yes, seven of them will be are designed to be [53:04] mounted. Um the other seven will be on desk uh and providing a phone solution [53:11] uh that's PCI compliant and HIPPA compliance [cough] to [clears throat] [53:15] you to carry on any business over the phone um that you need to [53:20] as well as [53:28] goes into the call plans. There's there's five of those with designated [53:32] numbers, full plans. Then you've got the duplicates which is called the resource [53:36] line. That's for the I think most of them are scattered throughout the uh the [53:42] non office areas. [53:52] We'll leverage your existing call flow to start with, but we've got six months [53:57] to work through that that configuration um and make changes. I know that Jeff [54:02] already mentioned there's a couple things that he was trying to dabble into [54:05] recently um to make changes or modifications amongst the different [54:11] staff at different stations. Um so we can work through those. We configure all [54:16] those to optimize them with the addition and then [clears throat] [54:20] um provide project management point contact for all procurement installation [54:27] that's where this network's going to be configured and segment with sub tenants [54:33] that gives you scope of work you want to know price or anything like that or any [54:39] other details. Yeah, you can [54:45] um the total price tax there. So the total price is $34,474.88 [54:56] And then there's MRC cost as well for phone service. And [55:04] one thing I didn't mention in here is a 5year extended warranties for all your [55:11] primary equipment, your access points, your switch, and your firewall. [55:18] Those are the core components to ensure that [55:21] So that quote comes fiveyear warranty. >> There's five year extended warranty. [55:26] It's in the materials list that I didn't go from each. [55:30] » That's fine. But it is part of that. >> Yep. You can find it in the back. [55:35] » We're waiting for one more quote and then we're going to have to make a [55:37] decision. But I appreciate all you kept saying, [55:43] but I do appreciate all the work you put in and no problem. [55:49] And as soon as we get to that point, I'll let you know. Okay. Thank you. [55:53] Chase you. [55:58] » All right. On to EMS. The ever uh continuing protocol update training. Uh [56:06] they're really hitting it hard this time around with the implementation of uh [56:10] different protocols for stroke. So coming up at the beginning of September, [56:17] all pretty much all strokes will be transported at Trinity Oakland because [56:22] they're the only comprehensive stroke center in the area. So that'll be [56:28] [snorts] the big change for us and along with uh different recognition protocols [56:32] and documentation that goes along with it. [56:36] » I I see you have it listed here. Is Trinity ready for that? [56:44] that it's yet to be seen. Hopefully hopefully their construction there is [56:48] done by the time that starts. But yeah, that's on to the next one. Um, you ever [56:55] long problem with Trinity along with many of the other hospitals is the uh [56:58] long turnover times that we have when we arrive there with a patient will be [57:02] stuck in the hallway uh maintaining them for you know half an hour, 45 minutes, [57:08] an hour. So, this one was just a straw that broke the camel's back. We had a [57:14] crew there with a resident that had hip and back pain and they were uh in the ER [57:21] waiting to do the patient turnover for 138 minutes. And that's just, you know, [57:27] it it jams our system up and it they had the star unit that was there in front of [57:33] them was already there for 2 hours and it's just devastating to the system [57:39] because if we're there and Brandon's there or it just backs us all up and we [57:44] can't rely on each other. So it's along with the problem that the hospital [57:49] themselves are having with the inner facility transports. So if they lock the [57:54] patients up there or ambulances up there, they don't have one to transfer [57:59] the patients to another facility to distribute the load and uh get them the [58:04] definitive care they need. So, u long story short, I wrote a letter to the CEO [58:11] of Trinity and he was quite open and perceptive and we all had a meeting with [58:17] him and he uh outlined some changes they were going to do in the ER with the [58:23] patient handover. So, we'll see if it all works out. [58:27] » Fingers crossed. >> Yes. [58:35] » Yeah. Yeah. [58:40] » Um, hospital communications. Uh, the we had a [58:48] I guess it's in in lie of the recent scanner sites [58:54] everybody is going nuts with. All of our communications are are being [59:00] intercepted and posted on Facebook and on these scanner sites where you can [59:05] just download and app and listen to everybody's radio traffic. So the big [59:09] one that broke the camels back here was the four fatality PI on 75 where the [59:15] hospital communication was [59:18] blasted out and they even put it over the news and everything. That's not [59:23] something that the family member or even John Key public needs to hear. [59:31] So, uh, I contacted MDHHS [59:38] and sent them my concerns and, uh, the communication subcommittee met [59:44] last week. Uh, the LA area chiefs were on board with it and the discussion with [59:51] them was that what I put in place is good enough. So, [59:56] I put in place no longer using the radios. You only use the cell phones to [1:00:00] contact the hospital on the recorded lines and and they came out with we've [1:00:05] been utilizing the system ebridge. It's basically an app that we put the patient [1:00:10] complaint information in and they receive it like a text basically at the [1:00:15] hospital and then we communicate that way. [1:00:19] Uh the problem with that is is all this is governed by uh medcom plan. It's it's [1:00:27] the law in Michigan basically for communications. So the way it stands now [1:00:34] is our ebridge isn't accepted. Uh we're doing it under a special study and cell [1:00:41] phones are not recognized at all under the communications. [1:00:46] You're not supposed to use them at all. you're only supposed to use a landline. [1:00:49] So, um, with all this in mind, uh, laying out all the problems and [1:00:55] concerns, they just said, "No, just keep doing it." [1:00:58] They didn't want to address, uh, remedying the situation or or coming up [1:01:04] to a unified plan that we could implement in 10 years [1:01:08] or 15 years, nothing. They're just >> No, it sounds like it's working great. [1:01:12] So, that's a little bit disheartening. So, um, we plan on pursuing it further. [1:01:19] Their excuse to that was, well, there's places in the up that only run two or [1:01:24] three calls a year and they can't afford it, you know, rather than looking at [1:01:28] systems that we could get funding for in the future to be compliant with all [1:01:33] these things in mind. So, um, a lot more work on that to let you know. And as [1:01:40] well kind of tacking on to that um we're also looking at encrypting our channels [1:01:47] on the north side here. Um we haven't quite presented it to the other [1:01:51] departments yet but Brandon Springfield North Oakland Holly Village and and [1:01:56] ourselves are working with the county dispatch on uh possibility of encrypting [1:02:02] our channel and how it will affect our interoperability with other departments. [1:02:08] Say if we had blank come down. So, um I think we're in the end stages [1:02:14] of that. We are probably for now going to encrypt our channel 3. [1:02:21] So, once after we're initially dispatched, we can all switch over to [1:02:25] that and use that channel for a little more privacy. Um [1:02:33] kind of tacking on to that, the the worst part of it is is [1:02:38] time after that um the brother of [1:02:45] the guy that died in that four fatality PI he called to to thank the crew. He [1:02:52] found out it was bruter. So he he called and we talked to him and he did hear [1:02:57] that the hospital communication and he was very upset by it. So [1:03:05] it does have its impact and people. [1:03:13] » Did Did Martin think we could get a hearing over there at some point on it? [1:03:18] Did he think he could get you in front of a committee? [1:03:20] » I haven't talked much further with him on that other than that day he was at [1:03:25] the station, but um he was quite adamant. He he was all for encryting [1:03:31] » for that reason. So, >> I'll reach out to John. [1:03:34] » Thank you. [snorts] operations in the hospital [1:03:39] communications. Uh task force one, we talked about that. Uh station two [1:03:44] internet, we're testing the Starlink right now because uh [1:03:49] cable is very spotty. It seems like if the wind [1:03:55] blows, it goes out over there and it'll be substantially cheaper. Uh we're [1:03:59] testing on a plan that's $55 right now versus our $170 we're paying for [1:04:04] Comcast. So, with any luck, it'll work out well for us. And then, uh, [1:04:11] we'll be able to make a determination whether we can use it, utilize it in the [1:04:15] new station because it was almost $500 for Comcast and [1:04:23] » 585. >> 580. Yeah. Almost $600 for AT&T. So, if [1:04:29] we can save that money there since it's not in the budget at all for that with [1:04:34] the other increases >> because what was start for commercial [1:04:37] was what 285 or something to buy the equipment. [1:04:39] » Yeah, it was it was well below 300. So, >> yeah. [1:04:45] » No, it'd be a great savings. >> Yeah. Hopefully it works out. [1:04:49] » Uh it just came in Friday afternoon, so hopefully Jeff can install it this week. [1:04:54] Gota >> we can start reviewing it. [1:04:59] Company training as always, the run reports, fire training. We're hitting [1:05:05] engineer really hard so we can get some people through before it gets cold. It's [1:05:10] a lot easier to do it while it's warm when people show up. Um the [1:05:17] continuing on getting everybody on the IC 127 and 800. The county will be here [1:05:23] the end of next month to do 300 and the following month to do 400. [1:05:30] So then we'll meet our requirements and [1:05:35] exceed them actually in most cases. We're continuing with the TIMS training. [1:05:40] That's the traffic incident management system. Um I think you're about 85% [1:05:45] compliant with everybody completing that. [1:05:53] Then we've done our HIPPA bloodborne and protocol updates. The along with the [1:05:58] paradigm we're still pushing. Um and [1:06:06] the MTA is holding an e issues in the emergency services contra [1:06:12] conference. I'm sorry. Um we request that Sergeant Mar and myself attend. [1:06:21] one of your paper on there. >> Yes. I was just looking. Can you [1:06:25] remember what the cost was, Jim? >> It was $125. [1:06:34] » Frank, [1:06:39] » September 9th. [1:06:48] I'll make a motion that we approve um sending [1:06:54] Chief Williams and Sergeant Mar to Frankenmouth for the emerging [1:07:02] issues in emergency services MTA annual event [1:07:08] um with the cost covered as well as uh mileage reimburse [1:07:15] It'll be in the chief's truck. So, >> oh, be in the chief's truck. Okay. [1:07:19] Scratch that part about mileage reimbursement [1:07:23] » and uh paid for from >> Chief's [1:07:27] » Yeah, we take professional development. >> Yeah, [1:07:32] » I'll second that. Laura, you want a roll call? [1:07:37] » Uh Jim Christopher, yes. >> Keith Weederold, yes. Kevin Scramlin, [1:07:40] yes. Theresa Bells, >> yes. [1:07:45] All right. And then on to grants. I request a board action for a resolution [1:07:51] authorizing Stacy Malar as designated signatory for the Michigan Department of [1:07:56] Treasury fire equipment grant application. It's a grant up to $50,000 [1:08:01] for fire equipment that we were going to utilize for turnout here. [1:08:12] says roughly and I do have the resolution drafted [1:08:22] number. >> No. [1:08:25] » Noel number. Oh, you mean page number? [1:08:30] » No. [1:08:35] » Resolution. We can just make it [1:08:53] see [1:09:04] We'll [1:09:15] take a motion to approve resolution 2026-018. [1:09:23] The resolution authorizing designated signatory for the Michigan Department of [1:09:28] Treasury Fire Equipment Grant Program application [1:09:33] to the St. [1:09:37] I'll second it. All those in favor? [1:09:40] » I opposed. [1:09:44] Thank you. >> Uh we're still awaiting notification on [1:09:49] our AFG grant for four cardiac monitors. Hopefully what next month? [1:09:57] Yeah, possibly may start announcing the awards next month for that along with [1:10:03] the safer grant and then our DNR grant that that's uh [1:10:10] just whatever they want to say. So, we're always waiting for that. We have [1:10:14] for a a sky lift on that. the pipeline safety grant. We applied [1:10:22] for thermal imagers and we weren't awarded [1:10:25] unfortunately. Uh the alarms [1:10:30] for the year were up to 542 versus last year we were 631. And [1:10:36] there's a breakdown of the reasons. Um predominantly we had a reduction in [1:10:44] high utilizers. Uh the WO zone gone. We had a drop in [1:10:49] calls to Mount Holly, uh, Camp Tamarak. There were several larger incidents out [1:10:55] there last year. So, [1:10:58] » I see you've actually got more crashes than you had last year. [1:11:01] » Yeah, it's kind of interesting, isn't it? [1:11:03] » Yeah, actually, um, the way it was set up last year versus just the cones and [1:11:09] everything and the way they reduced the lanes was a lot worse this year. People [1:11:17] tend to get very confused when there's cones there. [1:11:20] » So, I think that was the main reason for that. [1:11:26] » I sent an email to the one guy from MDOT last week. I've never heard back. [1:11:31] Weren't they supposed to be done out there like the end of June or something? [1:11:34] » Yes. >> And they're still out there. [1:11:38] » There's no penalty for them this time around. So, [1:11:41] » you've never responded. Okay. [1:11:48] And then Township attractions Michigan Renaissance Festival is opening August [1:11:54] 22nd through October 4th [1:12:00] and we will be doing first aid there and also the association will be doing the [1:12:07] ice cream. [1:12:14] the ice cream stand for several four weekends. So [1:12:19] hopefully we'll make some profit on that and do well. [1:12:23] And then Holly Reck continues to be closed for the dam repairs. [1:12:31] » Yeah, damn. [1:12:35] » How How's the volunteers on that ice cream [1:12:40] volunteering [cough] festival? Do you have volunteers of [1:12:43] people signing up >> or can you tell me what weekends and how [1:12:48] many people you need? >> Yep, we have a list here. We just got [1:12:51] it. So, haven't had any chance to work on it yet. [1:12:55] » Okay. But it's not every single weekend. Um we took the first four weekends [1:13:00] because we just didn't have enough interest to do all all six days. [1:13:04] » First four weekends. That closely. >> Okay. So if you want to sign up [1:13:10] » Well, I may I may want to Can you just pass that over right now? We just keep [1:13:16] forgetting. >> Yeah, we want to know. [1:13:18] » It should be fun. >> I know. It's going to be fun. [1:13:25] » And I'm pretty sure it's in the ice cream booth at the station. So you're [1:13:28] not standing outside. [1:13:37] » Uh ticket. They let you in the park, you know, they let you like we don't need a [1:13:41] ticket to get in in order to go volunteer at the ice cream place. Just [1:13:46] checking. >> I I'll clarify what ship um you come in [1:13:49] in the morning. We'll show you how to do the cash and do the credit card machines [1:13:53] and that kind of stuff. >> Um but I just got him back tonight. I'm [1:13:57] like, >> "Did you confirm with your girl we're [1:13:59] good for four weekends?" He's like, "Yeah, you're good to go." I'm like, [1:14:02] "Thanks. We got like last minute. [1:14:10] And then the rest is uh about the incident, the OBV part, the article I [1:14:16] wrote for David Fleet, and then uh just continue [1:14:23] on more of an explanation of the radio encryption [1:14:31] topics. And then just hitting again on the uh [1:14:37] Dixie roadway diet. >> Just want to keep it on everybody's [1:14:43] radar. [1:14:47] » I don't think anybody's forgot about it, John. [1:14:51] » I don't I don't mean to be out of order, but there's a meeting at the Royal [1:14:55] Commission this week. [1:15:04] And then the rest is just our report cards. We were excellent as always, [1:15:09] surprisingly. We work hard, but um they were all good. [1:15:17] So that is all I have. >> Thank you, John. [1:15:24] Got any public comment on the fire board meeting? [1:15:29] I take it we don't Sweet. [1:15:35] » Motion that we adjourn. >> Second. All those in favor. [1:15:42] » Thank you.
