[3:17] [snorts] >> Good afternoon. Uh, thank you all for [3:21] having us here and Miss Carlen for coordinating with us. We're here to [3:24] speak about um our 2025 Leadership Academy and give a little bit of a [3:29] report. And as we do that, I'm going to introduce Theresa Stell. She's just [3:32] going to give a little bit of a testimony as to her experience with the [3:35] Louisiana Girls Leadership Academy. And we want to thank all of you uh for the [3:41] LFU Parish Council for everything you've done to help us in executing this [3:46] program, making it possible. Hi everyone, my name is Reese Stell [3:52] Phillips and I'm a freshman at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette [3:57] studying speech pathology and aiology. I've been a part of LGLA since 2021, [4:03] starting as a participant, then a junior counselor, and this past year, I was a [4:07] junior program assistant. My love and gratitude for this program continues to [4:12] grow every year. One of my favorite gifts from LGLA are the friendships I [4:17] have made. I've been surrounded by a group of girls who have the same values [4:21] and goals as me. We build each other up year round. [4:26] LGLA strives to show each aspect of leadership, including public speaking, [4:32] running for office, and owning a business. There is even an etiquette [4:36] class. Through the many different panels, [4:40] speakers, and group activities, each girl walks away from the program feeling [4:44] like she can conquer all her goals. The ambassador campaign is an amazing part [4:49] of LGLA. Here, each small group chooses one or two candidates to run for LGLA [4:55] ambassador. The groups become campaign teams using their ci creativity to get [5:00] their candidates name known. The candidate also gives a speech to the [5:04] entire program and then on the last day the participants vote. Every night there [5:10] is a fun activity to bring us all together. My favorite activities have [5:14] been the governor's dinner and the pool party. LGLA is my home. It has given me [5:20] my voice and my best friends. I cry every year when it's over because it [5:24] because it is where I feel the most inspired and understood. I'm always [5:28] counting down the days until the next program. There is currently 236 days [5:33] until LGLA 2026. This past year, we received more [5:38] applicants than ever before. So, our need for funding has grown. It is help [5:43] from people like y'all that makes this program a reality for so many girls. I [5:48] thank God every day for putting LGLA into my life and I thank you all for [5:53] allowing me to speak with you today. Thank you. [5:58] And we want to thank Reese Stell for driving in from UL to be here with us [6:02] tonight. Also here um LGLA is in its 19th year. Um and it is under the [6:07] director actually of the LFU Parish Commission for Women um President Dr. [6:12] Dr. Laura Bado, who also serves as the executive director for the Louisiana [6:17] Center for Women in Government and Business. As Reese Stell said, the [6:20] program is only continuing to grow in need. Last year, we received at the [6:25] close 300 applications, um, which was completely amazing. Um, we [6:31] were able and funded to take 80 young women into the program. It was very [6:34] competitive, which is very exciting. In these packets that you have of our [6:38] report, you're going to see all of the um 2025 data and survey results which [6:44] show you the way the program has grown since 2022 when we were fighting to [6:48] receive 100 applications for 80 spots. And to be where we are now is just [6:52] incredible. And you'll also see um how our participants ranked after going [6:56] through the program. And like Risa Stell, we have young women that fight to [6:59] come back year after year because they truly do meet women that are like [7:03] themselves for the first time. They are they are ambitious. They are driven. [7:07] They want to be business owners. They want to be civic leaders and leaders in [7:11] their community. So, they truly find their voice and their platform and they [7:14] learn uh how to execute that and they meet mentors through the program. I [7:18] think I've written um six or seven um college application um letters so far [7:23] for recommendations. With that being said, we're also doing a [7:27] lot for Lefouch Parish. A lot of the young women I think um our college rate [7:32] is currently at 99% of those young women that are graduating as seniors are [7:36] metriculating into college and I want to say 84% I don't know if I put that [7:41] number in here it might be further in the back are going to Nickels and some [7:45] of these young women that didn't even know Nickels existed before there but we [7:48] implant them onto our campus and they see everything that we have to offer in [7:52] our community and they end up coming back as Colonels. So we're really proud [7:56] of that. um 100% of the funds that we receive from Lefuch Parish go to housing [8:01] and feeding our um participants at Nickel State University. So um as those [8:06] numbers grow up, as Reese Stell said, we would love to expand our program. Our [8:11] goal is to fund raise to be able to accept Laura 100. That's the goal for [8:15] this year is to be able is to be able to expand to um accept 100 young women cuz [8:21] we are expecting another hike um in the programming. Um, Laura, would you like [8:26] to say anything? [8:32] » I know this is whole to believe that that I can't speak. Uh, but I have a [8:39] brain bleed from uh another hospital and so I I'm going to be however full force [8:49] by the uh day. So, thank you so much. I can't tell you that what it has done [8:58] all of Louisiana because people are looking about [9:03] Louisiana and about that we are taking the um uh I can't see y'all. I'm sorry I [9:10] can't see yet but I will. All right. Please please understand how much this [9:19] is going for for Tibido for uh Homer for um [9:26] » Racer. Yes. Thank you for helping us. >> Yes. Thank you so much for all of your [9:32] help. Um and does anybody have any questions specifically about the program [9:36] or I know y'all are pretty familiar with us. We come every year and give our [9:40] report. >> Mr. Lraine's got some comments. [9:43] » Okay. Yeah, I just wanted to thank you all because this is a program that I've [9:48] always push and try to help you all as much as I can. I've been doing it for a [9:52] long time and uh I I see uh in the budget they put you 10,000, but we'll [9:58] we'll keep it at that for now. We'll wait till the budget comes up and see [10:01] what happens. And uh I attended your banquet the last day and I wish more [10:07] councilman would attend, but some of them got to work so I could understand [10:10] that. Uh it's something really to see what these young ladies can do. It's [10:16] unbelievable the stunts that they do at the end and they get together in all [10:22] kind of little groups and and they really put on something that's everybody [10:27] should see. I made the one last year and if God says I'm going to make the one [10:32] this year and it's in it's at Nicholls. It's at Nickels. Now, when they had the [10:39] supper by the doctor's house, there were quite a few councilmen that came. I [10:43] don't remember all of them, but there were there were a few that came, but uh [10:46] I wish everybody would come if they can to the banquet and see what these young [10:52] girls can do. Y'all really motivate these girls and they're all young kids. [10:59] In fact, I could probably be that daddy, but I'm not. Thank [laughter] God. [11:04] But anyway, >> daddy said grandpa. [11:06] » Oh, I I should maybe be that grandpa. >> Great grand. Great grandpa. [11:10] » That's better [clears throat] than great grandpa. [11:12] » But anyway, I'm sure the council is going to help you out the best they can. [11:17] And I put a little more than 10,000 in the budget at my request to them. But [11:23] we'll see what happens. And you know, I got to tell them 10,000 is is great. [11:30] That's usually what you get. But don't forget inflation, so it might go up a [11:35] little bit. Thank you. >> Thank you, Mr. Lraine. [11:38] And Mr. Brumfield, you have the floor, sir. Well, I I got the opportunity to [11:42] attend to attend the the dinner that you all had at the Dr. Tori's house and I [11:48] was uh it was very impressive. So, my prayer for you all is that God continues [11:54] to order your steps and many more years that it grows and grows and grows. Thank [12:00] you. Thank you all so much. And um I if you would like to help us, there is [12:05] information in the packet on um what you can do to help and the biggest thing is [12:09] connecting us with businesses or with individuals that have the same mission [12:13] and would like to get in touch with us about how they can help sponsor a young [12:16] woman or help the program. But thank you all so much for having us and your [12:20] continued support. >> Thank you. Thank you all very much. Good [12:24] luck. [12:28] All right. [12:32] All right, that's it on presentations and our updates brings us to item D, [12:38] engineer and architect reports. And I'm told we're not going to get any tonight, [12:41] so we good. Item E, public wish address at council public hearings agenda items [12:45] or Miss Carlen. >> Miss Jill Petri, if you'd come to the [12:48] podium, state your name and address for the record. And please remember, you [12:53] have three minutes, Miss Petri. [13:04] Gio Petri 3191 Shopar Road Tibido 70301. Good evening. My name is Jill Petri and [13:13] I want to begin by saying that I do understand that this council cannot [13:18] change a judge's ruling or reverse a custody decision. [13:22] What I am speaking about tonight is not a dispute over custody. It's about how [13:28] parish level agencies enforce court orders and respond to protective order [13:33] violations. Those enforcement [13:37] procedures and the coordination between local departments or within your [13:42] authority as parish leaders responsible for public safety and accountability. [13:47] October is domestic violence awareness month. A time when we are reminded that [13:53] every statistic is a story. A family and often a child whose voice goes on [13:58] unheard. I stand here not only as a former caregiver who lived through that [14:04] reality, but also as the founder of a new initiative called the Petri Promise [14:09] Project, [snorts] a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting [14:14] children, supporting survivors, and promoting accountability within the very [14:19] systems meant to keep us safe. For more than 500 days, I cared for a child [14:26] under eight separate protection orders. Seven issued by the same judge in Lafush [14:31] Parish. Each one acknowledging clear and ongoing danger. Protective orders are [14:36] not issued casually. They are granted only when a court determines protection [14:40] is necessary. That same judge also granted an expporte order and a consent [14:45] judgment that legally recognized me as having sole custody pertaining to the [14:50] father, not the mother because she was incarcerated. Those orders existed [14:54] because the biological parent had a documented pattern of instability, [14:59] arrest, and court-ordered supervised visitation limits. Then on January 3rd [15:04] of 2025, everything changed. That same judge abruptly reser reversed custody [15:10] while a protective order was still active and [clears throat] the local law [15:14] enforcement carried out that transfer without a signed judgment. The order was [15:19] not signed until nearly 4 weeks later. There was no transition plan, no [15:24] rehabilitation requirement, and no best interest review. That action blocked me [15:29] from protecting the child and not only from physical but also emotional harm, [15:35] but also the continued instability and neglect that the courts had already [15:40] documented. When I continued to speak up, a retalatory protective order was [15:46] issued against me, the caregiver with no criminal history, who had kept that [15:51] child safe for nearly two years. It stripped away the only consistent source [15:55] of safety that child had. And it sent the message that speaking up for a child [16:00] in danger can be punished instead of protected. [16:06] After the reversal, the same parent was arrested again. [16:09] » Someone want to add the three minutes. So relinquish three more minutes. [16:15] » Thank you. Thank you. After after the reversal, the same parent was arrested [16:19] again. Proof that the risk was never resolved. This is not about one child or [16:25] one caregiver. It exposes a pattern that endangers families in Lef Parish. [16:30] Protective orders are issued and then ignored. Custody transfers occur [16:34] [clears throat] without jur judicial verification, meaning law [16:39] enforcement is acting on verbal instructions given in open court. The [16:44] Louisiana law requires that a signed judgment be be presented before any [16:49] custody is changed and any order goes into effect. Agencies who are being [16:54] notified of danger are failing to coordinate and act. In my case, the [16:59] child protective services told me they could only intervene with the judge's [17:03] signature, but there was no oversight to ensure those signatures exist or align [17:08] with the facts. children left completely unprotected in this parish. I'm asking [17:14] this council to take three realistic local steps. Create a child safety [17:18] oversight task force to review how protective orders and custody changes [17:23] are handled in Laush Parish. Adopt a verification process requiring [17:28] confirmation of a sign judgment before any custody transfer is enforced by [17:34] parish agencies. hold quarterly inter agency meetings between law enforcement, [17:39] child protective services, and community advocates to close communication gaps. [17:45] These are non-judicial actions. They are public safety measures within your [17:49] reach. The law that protect children already exists. What's missing is local [17:54] enforcement and coordination. Please let this story be a warning and a call to [17:58] action. I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm asking for accountability, integrity, [18:03] and courage. [snorts] The calling that ensures the next child [18:07] in danger will not be sa be failed by this system. Thank you. [18:12] » Thank you ma'am. >> Were there any questions on [18:15] » anybody has any issues? Any questions? Any engagement? [18:19] » No. >> Thank you. [18:20] » Thank you. [18:23] » Mr. Elliott Day, if you come to the podium, state your name and and your [18:29] address for the record. Mr. Day >> Le Elliot Day Jr. 1208 Highway 307, [18:34] Tivida, Louisiana. [18:39] Parish Council, Interum President OA and citizens of Lefouch Parish. With pride, [18:45] optimism, and excitement, I'm here to announce my candidacy for Lef Parish [18:49] President. I moved to Lefouch in 1991, but have over three generations of my [18:54] family buried in St. Joseph Cemetery. While day may not be the most common [18:57] name here in Lefouch, my family consists of Gro, Clema, Diaz, Navar. [snorts] I [19:03] am without a doubt a son of Laush Parish. I don't come from a political [19:07] family nor money. I've worked for everything I have and strive to rise no [19:10] matter what job I have. In 1998, I graduated Bruley High School, attended [19:15] LSU for two years for engineering and ran out of money. moved back to Lefouch, [19:21] started at Nicholls and worked for Rousers where I quickly moved up from [19:24] stock crew to assistant crew chief. Then took a job with the sheriff's office so [19:28] I could do my homework at night. I signed on with Sheriff Duffy Bro. [19:34] I then started correctional officer work. worked my way to patrol where I [19:38] patrolled mostly to central area then detective where I did my most of my work [19:42] in North Leouch and finally became a DARE officer in South Lefouch from 1998 [19:46] to 2001 where I'm still proud to go down and hear deputy day. [19:52] I part-time for DARE as well as doing other um activities from 2002 to 2008 [19:57] where I was also the reserve coordinator volunteers and explorers. I was a state [20:02] VIPS advocate, meaning volunteers and patrol. Whenever someone wanted to start [20:05] a volunteer program, the state goes, governor's office of homeland security [20:09] would direct them to me. In 2010, I was named the National Sheriff's Association [20:14] National Explorer Adviser of the Year. And in 2012, I became the Lefuge Parish [20:18] Range Master, taking over firearms as well as running the same programs. In [20:22] 2016, I was promoted to captain and put as the academy director where I held up [20:26] the training for over 44 law enforcement agencies as well as the inservice [20:30] training for our local law enforcement here. In 2021, I was promoted to [20:34] criminal major which puts me third in place of the chart and third in [20:38] supervision of the sheriff's office. During Ida, I was the nighttime [20:42] supervisor responsible for all activities law enforcement related from [20:45] 6:00 p. p.m. to 6:00 a.m. I lived right there in Lockport except for the first [20:51] week of the storm where we lived right here because the we didn't have a place [20:55] for the sheriff's office. We actually embedded here with the parish [20:58] government. After a year and a half there, then I [21:02] became crim uh operational support major. In my last two years, I've been a [21:06] community event coordinator, coordinating over 500 events throughout [21:09] Lefouch Parish to not only what the sheriff's office could do, but if I [21:12] could direct them to other programs or services in Lefj Parish. During this [21:16] time, I also kept a promise I'd made to myself and my mother that I would [21:20] graduate. And in 2001, I graduated my associate degree from in criminal [21:24] justice from Nichols. And in 2019, I graduated with my bachelor's degree in [21:29] criminal justice and continue to serve Nickel State University on the criminal [21:32] justice advisory board. [21:38] » About to hit that three minute mark. [laughter] [21:42] Um I have received several recognitions. Um someone was relinquish a few Mr. [21:46] Arab. Yeah. Continue, Mr. D. >> Thank you, sir. I'm not going to go [21:49] through all the recognitions, but most recently this year, I was received the [21:52] service above self um award from Thrive and Tibido. Last year, I received [21:58] recognition from beyond the bell, beyond the badge from working with bless your [22:01] heart to give um housing to displaced citizens in South Loo during after Ida. [22:07] My community service also includes being a hunter's ed instructor for over 30 [22:10] years where I last year was inducted in the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries [22:13] Hall of Fame as an instructor. I've taught women self-defense for over 30 [22:17] years and was given the aggressor award. I was a founding member of the Beyond [22:21] the Bell uh Friends of Beyond the Bell where I support the Beyond the Bell [22:25] efforts in the Alley Doll community. And I'm also served as proxy off of the last [22:29] three years on the LFU education foundation um where I'll give props to [22:33] Miss Deanna for the King Cake Festival and the work that she's done with what [22:37] goes on with the schools. I'm proud to have been a member of that and continue [22:39] to serve there. I also founded a nonprofit for the youth group run by the [22:44] sheriff's office which funds many of its things and I've most for the last couple [22:48] years I've been working um trying to assist where I can last year especially [22:52] with Bayou Community Foundation in this anchor program which I was very proud to [22:57] sit on with Mr. Lynch and Mr. Daniel Lraine last week at the cutoff youth [23:01] center as they're looking at what services are needed in the South Luch [23:04] area of this parish for leadership. I was a founding secretary and two-time [23:09] president of LEAF Deputies Association. I served 10 years on the executive board [23:13] of Louisiana Association of Crisis Negotiators, two as president and two as [23:17] past president, during which time I served six years on the national [23:20] committee of negotiation agencies setting the standards for negotiators [23:24] and crisis intervention throughout the nation. I'm a RAD I was the RAD [23:28] director, state director that stands for rape progression defense for women for [23:31] three years. And I was also uh um held it up our response with Orleans Parish [23:37] to assist them with Marty Gro. And they thought so much of me that after their [23:41] recent troubles in supervision in Orleans Parish, they started a training [23:45] program for leadership and I was the first instructor invited to come in and [23:48] do two hours on leadership for their supervisors. [23:51] I also sit on the Louisiana Association um sorry Louisiana Southeast Louisiana [23:58] Human Services Authority Sasha. I sit on their regional committee for crisis [24:02] intervention where I teach active listening and do the scenario training. [24:04] I'll be doing that next week in St. Charles. [24:10] Leadership is defined as sharing a vision, inspiring others, and enabling [24:13] that group to meet that need and then give them credit for making it. That's [24:17] what I want to be a leader. I have experience in leadership. I have [24:20] experience in community service. I also want to kill any rumors before they get [24:24] started. Um, I've had people say, "Well, what are you going to do about the [24:27] current administration, the people that work for parish government?" I'm not [24:30] coming in here with five new people to take over this parish government. [24:33] There's good people that work here. I respect them, and I consider many of [24:36] them my friends, and I've worked with them for years. I'm here to be the [24:39] parish president, not to rewrite everything. I'm here to ask for people's [24:43] consideration in that. I believe in servant leadership. Share the goal, [24:47] allow the team to achieve it, and thank them when it was accomplished. I want to [24:51] be your servant leader. I have a proven history of leadership, community [24:54] involvement, 33 plus years and over 40 emergency responses. I've been here for [24:58] hurricanes, active shooter and at the Rose Cutoff. I was there for the oil [25:02] spill and the floods. Um I have boots on the ground experience in as well as [25:07] leadership. Dr. Phil was once quoted as saying, "The best predictor of true [25:12] behavior behavior is past behavior." I ask you to simply look at my past [25:17] behavior to know where I'll be in the future. Yesterday, today and every day. [25:22] I am Elliot Day and I humbly ask your consideration to be your Lefouch Parish [25:26] President. A new day for Lef. Thank you. >> Thank you, Mr. Day. [25:32] » Miss Jessica Don, if you come to the podium, state your [25:36] name and address for the record. Please remember you have three minutes. [25:43] My name is Jessica Delom. My address is 120 East 58th Street in Cutoff. [25:48] Um I'm here today. I've been here multiple times before. Um regarding a [25:55] land division on my property that um through my neighbor, Mr. Terry Doy to [26:00] Terry Dory, I found out I was not legally put on the I forget what it's [26:07] called, the map. All I know is it's known as the map. Um, for 10 years now, [26:12] I was getting um, my tax paperwork, all of that stuff. [26:18] I have all my paperwork from the clerk of court that my property existed as [26:21] mine. Come to find out at some point in time, something fell apart, that I was [26:27] not put on the map as legally owning my property, that Mr. Terry Dory, which is [26:32] my neighbor, still own the property. and come to find out this was from like [26:36] something that went on 20 plus years ago, long before I got in the picture. [26:42] Um, I've come here a couple of times before. I've been working with Mr. [26:46] David, Miss Delin, and Mr. Daniel to go ahead and get all of that corrected so [26:52] that it could become my property so Mr. Terry could move forward with what he's [26:58] trying to do on his property, which is put another trailer for his parents. In [27:02] the mix of all of this, um what we're here for today is I have to ask for two [27:08] variances um for the council to vote on. The first [27:11] one being that my driveway is not uh the 25 ft wide. I believe it's 15. [27:18] Um the second one is the fire hydrant issue. Um I know that the law or the [27:23] rule states that I have to be within 500 ft. I had Leaf Fouch Parish Fire [27:28] District come and measure it. Um there was some discrepancies with that. Um I [27:35] came last time with the planning commission meeting and they said that [27:38] I'd have to come back. I have all of my paperwork and everything to have it [27:41] voted on today. And I've been speaking with Mr. Lynn and Mr. Daniel [27:45] about it to have it corrected. I don't know what else to say. [27:53] » Yeah, those both those ordinances have come up and you're welcome to come up [27:56] and speak on each one as well if you like. Um, certainly. [28:00] » Okay. Um, if I need to, I will. [laughter] [28:04] » Very good. Mr. Lan, you have a question. >> Talk to Miss Delin, too, cuz it's [28:08] between the two districts. That's where the bomb. [28:10] » Yes, Miss What happened was is East 58. Um, I didn't know that East 58 was [28:15] divided down the street and Miss Dyn has one side and Mr. Daniel has the other [28:19] side. >> She didn't want to take my side, so she [28:21] took her side. >> We had a better side, though. [laughter] [28:26] Um but um I I've come a couple of times before to have it corrected. We're just [28:31] at I'm guessing at the point now where we're trying to wrap everything up. So I [28:36] don't know if y'all have any questions about it. It's been a lengthy um issue. [28:43] You can ask Mr. David. Um I think it was a lot of con I'm really not sure what [28:49] happened, but this is what I'm here for today. [28:52] » Very good. Thank you. >> Okay. [28:55] That's my matter. >> All right. Thank you, Miss Coren. Brings [28:59] us to M approval of minutes. I'll now enterain a motion to accept the minutes [29:02] of the September 23rd, 2025 regular session. So moved by Mr. Perk, second by [29:06] Mr. Pierce. Any discussion? There being none. All in favor signify by saying I. [29:11] » Is anyone opposed? Motion passes. Eight yay, zero nays, one absent. Absence [29:16] being Councilman Adams. That brings us to item G, public hearing or for [29:20] ratification. I'll entertain a motion to open public hearing. So moved by Mr. [29:23] Broomfield second by Mr. Burke. All in favor signify by saying I. [29:27] » Is anyone opposed? Motion pass 8. Yay. Z Naz one absence being councilman Adams. [29:33] Item two ordinance ordering and calling a special election to be held in the [29:36] parish of the fool state of Louisiana to authorize the continuations of ad [29:39] valorum taxes therein making applications to the state bond [29:42] commission and providing for other matters and connections therew with. [29:47] This was uh sponsored by Mr. Perk for administration. This was deferred from [29:50] the 92325 LPC meeting. No public hearing held. Can someone second that motion for [29:55] Mr. Perk? Second by Mr. Bumfield. Would anyone from the public like to comment [30:00] on the ordinance at number two? Second call. Public input. Ordinance at number [30:04] two. Last and final call. Anyone from the public wants to comment on this [30:07] ordinance? There being none. Anyone from the council? [30:10] » I want you. Go ahead. Mr. L, you have a question. [30:12] » 1.67. [clears throat] Wasn't that one time [30:15] that was with drainage and two or three other things? [30:20] » So now it's by itself. [30:24] » Someone can answer press press your button. Can anyone answer that? Mr. Oz [30:29] has pressed his button. You have any other question? [30:30] » Proposition one. The one we're talking about. [30:33] » All right, Mr. Oz, you have >> two separate ordinances for the library. [30:37] That's the other one. >> Hold on, Mr. Mr. Lraine. Um, do you have [30:43] a follow-up question for the pressure button? Pressure button. [30:47] » Oh, okay. >> All right. Go ahead. [30:49] » The 1.67. Didn't they have drainage and something else with it at one time? I'm [30:55] just asking. I always thought maybe I thought wrong. I don't know. So, [31:01] that's by itself. 1.67. And then the other one is by itself. [31:07] So, that would be two different propositions on the ballot, [31:11] right? Yeah. >> Okay. [31:16] » All right. I think I've already called. So, any further discussion among the [31:19] council? >> All right. Let's bring it to vote. All [31:21] in favor signify by saying I. >> I. [31:23] » Any oppose? >> All right. Motion pass eight. Yay. Zero [31:27] nays. One absent absence being councilman Adams. Item three, orange is [31:30] granting a variance from LFUS Par subdivision regulations from the [31:33] installation of a fire hydrant in the proposed Jessica Delone division as not [31:37] recommended by the Lef Parish planning commission at their August 27, 2025 [31:41] meeting. So move by Mr. Lraine for administration. Second by Miss Chess [31:45] would anyone from the public like to comment on the ordinance set number [31:47] three. Second call public input ordinance set [31:51] number three. Last and final call. Anyone from the [31:55] public wants to come in on the ordinance at number three. Mr. Lraine, you have [31:58] the floor. Well, you still had it. Press your button again. I'm sorry. Go ahead. [32:02] » Yeah. What what this is, gentlemen, is it's it's short of the 500 ft, but I [32:08] think new to you on the uh parishwide uh deal, and I think what the planning [32:13] commission did, they're going according to what we have on the books, but I [32:17] think there's a move instead of 500T for hydrogen, they're working on trying to [32:22] come up with 1,000 ft. And that would solve a lot of lot of problems because [32:28] all your fire trucks today are in better more equipment and more things today [32:33] than they had 20 years ago. So you have a question. So you have a question for [32:37] Miss Jessica cuz it look like she wants to answer your question. [32:39] » Questions for I think she wants to answer one of your questions. You can [32:41] come up to answer his question. [laughter] [32:46] » Can you put the the mic live? Okay, it's live. [32:49] » Okay. So >> just state your name and address so the [32:52] minister will get picked up. >> I'm sorry. Uh Jessica the Lone 120 East [32:55] 58th Street. >> I have the maps. Um I brought some of [32:59] the maps if you want me to explain it to you what happened where my property sits [33:05] like the the side of my property is closer to the highway. So whenever the [33:10] fire department, the chief came and he measured [33:14] » I was in the 500 ft um of of a new a newer fire hydrant. I [33:20] have the fire hydrant number and everything there that he told me if a [33:24] fire were to happen at my home, he was like, "Look, we would probably park [33:29] along the highway." And he said they could connect to that hydrant or they [33:33] could even pump from the bay if need be. But what I think from my understanding [33:38] what puts me out of the 500 ft is that the the front of my property like the [33:44] driveway to access point to the street is not within the 500 ft. So um I think [33:51] that's kind of the discrepancy that I understood that's going on. [33:56] » But but I did talk to Devin the fire district three chief and he said it they [34:02] did not see any problems with it. And I got a letter here from Freddy who has [34:05] been Freddy passed away years ago and I had this similar problem on East 95th [34:11] Street >> and I got a letter right here from him. [34:14] It says that they could put out any fire that they have anywhere. [34:18] » Right. So >> that and I have a letter from um it's [34:22] not from Devon. It's the gentleman second in command in the Mr. seven. And [34:26] he said the only problem would be if somebody would build on that property by [34:31] the highway, but when all of this is actually done with um I'm working on [34:38] purchasing that property from the Leblons who currently own it. So, if I [34:42] own that property, unless I build on it and and like you said, you know, like [34:47] they're not going to not put out somebody's fire. But, um, my [34:52] understanding is that that's the the discrepancy in it that my my point of [34:57] access, my driveway is not within the 500, but where they would access the [35:01] fire is. >> I'm not against it. I'm trying to get [35:03] the council. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I should have talked to [35:06] y'all. I'm sorry. >> I'm just trying to get the council cuz [35:09] this is not the first time this has happened. has happened many time. But [35:12] once they're going to change the law, it's going to be a lot better for all of [35:16] us cuz a lot of it we won't have to give a barrier. [35:19] » And I definitely be in it because I'm like right underneath the 500 ft from my [35:25] technical point of access. >> Right. This, you know, I'd appreciate if [35:29] they would consider helping you out because we've helped many others out [35:33] » and I have like the map to kind of explain it cuz it's confusing. The whole [35:38] thing's been very confusing, [laughter] but um I mean I have it if y'all need to [35:44] see it. >> Mr. Perk, [35:47] » two questions. >> Yes. [35:48] » Um >> no, first first question. What is your [35:54] address? >> Um it's 120 East 58th Street in Cutoff. [36:01] I was just [snorts] I was I'm trying to look at it on [36:03] » Yeah, we another thing that's happening is on the [36:08] map. It does not I I do not that property does not exist on the map. [36:13] However, and I have it with me. Um >> is that my tax? I'm sorry. [36:18] » It's an empty lot currently. >> No, I have my mobile home on it. [36:24] » Okay. So, it's right behind the second. >> Yes. It It's like the first house and [36:29] then my driveway comes right here and then there's another I'm kind of a way [36:33] set back and see it. Yeah. You set back off like my because I've been getting [36:38] tax bills for 10 years now and I was like well how come I'm getting a tax [36:42] bill and y'all saying this is not my property. That's crazy. [36:46] » So the address exists like it exists in 911. Um a few years ago we actually had [36:52] to call 911 for me to be picked up in an ambulance and they found it. It's just [36:56] I'm not on the map. >> Okay. [36:58] » Which is stopping Mr. Dory from doing what he wants to do. [37:01] » And then David, how far was >> back if you want to ask Mitch and then [37:06] if he wants to get with the planning commission? [37:09] » Yeah, I was just looking for the the footage. It It's how much is [37:15] » Oh, [37:19] how long you going to have to Yeah. You have to come up. David, if you don't [37:23] mind, just state who you are so >> David went on the F parish planning [37:27] department uh here. >> But uh [clears throat] current [37:31] regulations state that a fire hydrant needs to be within 500 ft of the lot [37:38] you're creating. And I understand that the fire hydrant is closer, but if [37:44] someone was to construct in the empty lot, then [37:50] you know, I mean, I understand the firemen will do what they have to to put [37:53] the fire out, but it it it does, you know, [37:58] create a problem for them. And it's not my position to go against the [38:03] regulations. >> Right. Right. [38:07] I understand. We respect that and we know that we just had these, you know, [38:10] several fatalities. So, we we all have to be very careful on on what we do [38:15] [clears throat] when it comes to fires. Is that it, Mr. P? [38:18] » Yeah. It's just, you know, we Yeah. It's just like like Non said, the chairperson [38:24] said, it's just, you know, when we come to these regulations with fire, [38:28] especially with liability and exposure, we've got several firemen here on the [38:33] council. We're we're just very hesitant to to to go against that. But um I'll [38:40] let everybody speak their piece. Thank you. [38:44] » Ju uh excuse me just for the record, I mean I did attend the fire district [38:49] meeting and there is something in the working but it's not current. I mean [38:54] it's just >> Yeah. [38:59] Yeah. Go ahead, Mr. Melvin. You have the floor, sir. So, if somebody builds on a [39:03] new lot, that doesn't affect you, correct? That's separate from you. [39:06] » It it currently currently it is separate from me. Um [39:12] it it was in the works before for me to purchase that lot and then all of this [39:18] came up and I was like, well, I don't even own this pro. Some places I do own [39:23] this property, some places I don't. So that kind of just got put aside because [39:28] it was like, okay, like I kind of have to fix this mess before I can add on. [39:33] But there's currently nothing there. Um, it's it's a Leon family. Um, [39:39] » so but I mean it doesn't affect you dealing with what we're doing right now. [39:42] » No sir. Okay, good. >> No sir. No sir. They're just and and uh [39:46] Devon had told me that he said if someone were to build on that they'd [39:50] have he explained it that they would have to cross the property and he's like [39:55] you know they're still not going to knock out a fire but there's that [40:00] » yeah you know >> and the challenge is that it's it's you [40:02] do for one you really should be doing for all and there so many of the same [40:06] you know you're not unique there's tremendous number of the same issues [40:09] across the parish and um and I do thank David for attending the last chief's [40:13] association meeting and he's right, we don't really object. We don't we like to [40:17] stay neutral. Um, for me personally, I respect what the planning commission [40:21] does. They take their time. They research it. And I just want to be [40:25] uniform and how we because my neighbor I say I say I've said this I don't know [40:29] how many times had to spend $10,000 to put a hydrant on my property cuz he [40:33] couldn't cut across the property. So that hydrant is on. He doesn't own it. [40:37] He doesn't get to when he sells his house, he doesn't get to leave with it. [40:39] So anyway, I and I I do not object to changing the regulations, but for me, [40:44] it's just I want to be fair to everybody, [40:46] » right? >> You have a follow, Mr. D? [40:48] » That's what we're currently working towards. And uh I mean, we're not saying [40:53] that Mr. Loan didn't purchase property. We're trying to correct something that [40:58] happened years ago that should not have happened because in Laooj Parish, it is [41:04] a PLS, professional land surveyor that can establish property lines. A notary [41:09] cannot do that in a foo. Yeah. All right. Very good. Thank you, [41:15] Miss Jessica. >> All right. If there's no further [41:18] discussion, we'll bring it to a vote. All in favor of granting the variance as [41:22] not recommended uh state I. >> I. [41:25] » All against say nay. Nays raise your hand. So motion passes with six yays. [41:32] Two nays. Those nays being councilman not councilman perk and one ab absence [41:36] being councilman Adams. So you got your variance, Miss Jessica. [41:40] That said, brings us to item four or is granting a variance from Lush Par [41:43] subdivision regulations from the 25 foot frontage off of a public road to reduce [41:47] the 15 ft in the proposed Jessica Delone division as rec as recommended by the [41:51] Fush Parish Planning Commission at their August 27, 2025 meeting. So moved by Mr. [41:55] Lraine for administration, second by Mr. Araby. Would anyone from the public like [41:59] to comment on the ordinance at number four? [42:03] Second call. Public input ordinance at number four. There's a final call. [42:07] Anyone from the public wants to comment in order number four? Anyone from the [42:09] council? Go ahead, Mr. Lynn. [42:13] » Okay. So, this is the driveway. When you purchase that front lot, I am assuming, [42:21] and maybe I shouldn't, that that will be your driveway coming off the highway. [42:26] You won't be accessing from 58th Street anymore. [42:30] » So, once again, I'm sorry, Jessica, you have to state your name and address for [42:32] the record. just under the plans. >> Um Jessica Delone, 120 East 58th Street [42:37] cut off. >> Um [laughter] [42:41] so to have the property legally okay, what what happened first [42:47] was the driveway was a rideway um to [clears throat] my sister and [42:52] brother-in-law on the side of me because we had understood and we're explaining [42:56] that as long as we had a ride away. Yes, I have some apps if y'all need it. Okay, [43:02] [laughter] this one was recommended by planning. [43:03] » Okay. Um, >> you can't make it white. [43:08] » Okay. Yeah, that's what I what I was saying. The ambulance was able to come [43:13] scoot it was big enough screw me up. But, um, so legally the the driveway is [43:18] no longer a rideway. The driveway, we are trying to make it legally under my [43:22] name so that whenever I am able to purchase that lot by the highway, [43:27] I would like to make it an access to the highway. I'd have, you know, I'd have to [43:31] put, you know, gravel or whatever there. That's my plans. But in the meantime, [43:36] » we're just grinding the ground. >> Yes. [43:38] » Okay. Yes. >> Thank you. [43:39] » Thank you, ma'am. >> Any further discussion? There being no [43:43] bring it to a vote. All in favor signify by saying I. [43:46] » Is anyone opposed? Motion passes. 8. Yay. Z one absent. That absence being [43:50] councilman Adams. So you got your variance again. [43:54] All right. That brings us now to item five. artist approving an active [43:59] donation between the foos government and pavement services for the donation of [44:03] reclaimed asphalt pavement and authorizing the parish president to sign [44:06] execut documents Mr. Abby for administration [44:10] second by Mr. Melvin anyone from the public like to comment on the ordinance [44:14] at number five second call public input ordinance at five last and final call [44:19] anyone wants to comment on this ordinance anyone from the council Mr. [44:23] Ter, you have the floor, sir. >> Yeah. I just want to thank the [44:26] administration for uh making this happen. You know, paying attention was [44:30] what's going on next door and was able to get a bunch of recycle material for [44:34] nothing. So, thank y'all. All right. Any further discussion? [44:39] There'll be none. All in favor signify saying I. [44:42] » Is anyone opposed? Motion passes 8. Yay. Z one abs. And absence being Councilman [44:47] Adams. I entertain a motion to close public hearing. So moved by Mr. Perk, [44:51] second by Mr. Brumfield. All in favor signify by saying I. Is anyone opposed? [44:56] Motion passes 8 Z one absent. Uh for this particular item, again, this is one is a [1:02:37] large chunk of change. Uh but I would like to take a moment to explain exactly [1:02:42] what we have going on here. Um this is actually to address our lift station and [1:02:48] sewer system that we have here. Um there is only one single lift station and the [1:02:55] the lift station that is there services two restaurants uh and and the whole [1:03:00] rest of the building. We've had nothing but issues associated with the um that [1:03:06] particular lift station and it's owned by the investment group that owns the [1:03:10] rest of the building. Uh this actually is going to allow us to install our own [1:03:17] lift station such that we don't have sewer backup into the building once it's [1:03:24] completed. And the next thing that we're going to have to look at and address not [1:03:29] too long from now is going to be the actual sewer system itself. I've been in [1:03:33] discussions personally with the other neighboring property on a Dorsy [1:03:38] Investments to split the cost on that sewer unit. Um, but this is to install [1:03:43] our own independent lift station. That way we can control our own destiny and [1:03:49] not have grease and other materials that we don't want in a lift station and [1:03:56] ultimately causing backups into a brand new building that is coming along [1:04:00] beautifully. We which we actually tooured Deanna, myself and James uh this [1:04:06] afternoon which we'll be putting pictures up also on Facebook. So this [1:04:10] allows us to keep to our schedule on opening it in January. Thank you, Mr. [1:04:14] Chairman. Thank you, Mr. Ro, Mr. Lraine. You have the floor. [1:04:17] » Yeah, as as you said, that that doesn't belong to the parish. That that sew [1:04:23] system, they put that on the parishes property, and it's always been problems [1:04:28] with that thing according to the residents that live there. [1:04:32] So my question to you with all this and all this 7,138,000 [1:04:40] is the parish paying and the library board paying or FEMA's paying or who's [1:04:44] paying for all this the the whole project is FEMA [1:04:51] participating in this? Mr. Rain, if you got any other question, ask them before [1:04:55] I cut you off to to recognize Mr. Wrong. >> You got to just get for now. No, just [1:04:59] you got the complex is the parish government and the library, right? [1:05:06] » Before I can recognize them, I got that's it. I got to cut you off to put [1:05:09] him up. All right, Mr. Roar, go ahead. >> Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Council Rainey, [1:05:14] yes, it is owned by Lefuge Parish government. That portion of the building [1:05:20] and property is owned by us. That is correct. FEMA [snorts] is participating [1:05:25] in this. We have to finish settling our insurance before FEMA picks up the [1:05:30] additional cost. So, we're using the bond that you guys and gals have [1:05:35] approved back when to cover that. FEMA has issued an obligation, but they won't [1:05:40] reimburse us until we're finished with the insurance. But to answer your [1:05:44] question, yes, FEMA is picking up the cost along with whatever proceeds we get [1:05:49] from the insurance company. [1:05:54] I I'll tell you this. I just got three emails from FEMA. So, I guess they're [1:05:57] working for free right now. >> Some departments are working, Mr. [1:06:00] Chairman, in various areas. >> I'm just looking. Um particularly with regards to [1:13:58] the bulky pickup and um sticking to their schedule in particular. Sam has [1:14:04] has stayed very close to that. Deanna has as well. Um, so there's there's been [1:14:10] a lot of folks that have been watching this and of course any observations that [1:14:15] y'all make out in the field, please pass it on to us so we can continue to push [1:14:20] on them that they perform. Um, for Lake Long Pump, uh, Councilman Pierce, I can [1:14:27] tell you that I met with Stevie Smith a couple weeks ago and they were in the [1:14:30] process of doing their survey so they can get going with with their [1:14:34] engineering so we can get that work done. So, it is something that we're [1:14:37] we're watching. >> Okay. [1:14:39] » Um, yes, Councilman Melvin, please uh revert him to um Director um BGEOA and [1:14:49] pass, you know, any of that information over to him. We we meet on occasion [1:14:53] typically every other month >> to go over items across the entire [1:14:57] district for him. And uh we also do the same thing with South. [1:15:02] Um the item that you asked for on the lights, that particular item was uh we [1:15:08] contract with them whenever we need to install a new light. I've actually [1:15:12] reached out to Energy as of late and told them that we have nearly 2,000 [1:15:16] lights out across the parish. It is a statewide issue. I've requested a [1:15:21] meeting with the CEO. Um they have yet to grant that meeting. I did tell them [1:15:27] that we were going to hold their franchise agreement until they came in [1:15:31] and told us how they were going to address the light situation in the Foo [1:15:34] Parish. So, um, apparently they want to put their hand in the head in the sand [1:15:40] and not make due consideration to our demands [1:15:44] and ensuring that we are providing a good public safety and service. So the [1:15:49] next step is taking a look at the bill and and actually reducing the bill by [1:15:53] 20%. And start paying that and hopefully money will will make them recognize [1:16:00] that they're not serving us appropriately. [1:16:02] » Let's just get a program that's keeps doing that because I know it's four, [1:16:05] five, six months repetitively. >> Absolutely. [1:16:09] » All right. So Mr. >> I do have a couple announcements [1:16:11] whenever you're ready >> for under discussion or administration. [1:16:16] » Discussion. Okay. We'll come back to that. [1:16:18] » Thank you. >> Mr. Sunny, you have the floor, sir. [1:16:21] » Uh, Councilman Lorine, uh, we did work on those rideaways and after [1:16:26] investigating it, we found that we do have rightways on both of those [1:16:30] outfalls. So, the next step is to get work orders put in and for the outfalls [1:16:35] to be cleaned up. >> Oh, all right. I got to cut you off, [1:16:40] Sunny. And Mr. You have the floor. >> If you have the rotties, get with it. [1:16:46] » All right. Get with it. That's it. All right. Brings us. So, um, we had we have [1:16:51] a late and this is just for discussion. Um, we have a late public wishing [1:16:55] address of council. I in my term here 10 years I've never seen this. So, if y'all [1:17:01] are interested, someone could we could uh have a motion where we deviate from [1:17:05] the agenda and go back to public wish the council. Okay. So, we have a motion [1:17:10] by Mr. Lorraine that we deviate from the regular agenda and revert back to item [1:17:17] G. No, I'm sorry. Item E, public wishing to address the council. Is that your [1:17:21] motion, Mr. Lraine? Second by Mr. Arabie. All in favor signify by saying [1:17:26] I. >> Is there anyone opposed? Motion passes [1:17:29] 8A z absence. That absence being council Adams. I would just state that we try to [1:17:33] keep it to to the three minutes. >> Yes. Miss Lisa Machan, [1:17:38] come to the podium. State your name and address for the record. Please remember [1:17:41] you have three minutes. [1:17:47] » Hi, I'm Lisa Machan. I think I'm in district 6. Uh, I wanted to say thank [1:17:53] you for the good job you did with the hurricane. It was pretty amazing. So, [1:17:56] I'm here to talk about domestic abuse and asking for transparency and funding. [1:18:01] I'm looking to provide a public disclosure of federal, state, and parish [1:18:06] funds allocated for domestic abuse or family violence related services. I'm [1:18:10] looking to identify which agencies or departments including but not limited to [1:18:15] LFU Parish, police officers, um sheriff's department, police department, [1:18:21] Lafush Parish School Board. What do they receive, manage, and redistribute of [1:18:26] these funds? I'd like clarity as to whether any of these funds are [1:18:30] redirected, co-mingled, funneled into unrelated programs, general budgets, [1:18:35] administrative costs, and I'd like to see published documentation showing how [1:18:40] compliance and audits are conducted to ensure funds are used for their intended [1:18:46] purpose, to protect victims and further abuse. [1:18:50] Um, about 75,000 women and children live in our district. [1:18:57] Um they say about 25% of women and children are affected by domestic abuse. [1:19:03] Untrained officials will see a woman and a child [1:19:08] experiencing domestic abuse and call it mental illness instability. [1:19:14] They are not traumainformed and they do not understand what it is like to be [1:19:18] afraid in their own home. There's someone in every one of your districts [1:19:24] hurting tonight. There is a child in every one of your [1:19:28] districts hiding in their home covering their [1:19:33] ears. We need to protect our women and [1:19:36] children. You all know we all say, "What am I doing here? What [1:19:41] is my purpose?" Our purpose isn't money. It isn't power. Our purpose is to love [1:19:46] each other and to make our communities better. The world's falling apart. But [1:19:50] we can start to stop it here. And to address a problem, we have to be able to [1:19:55] acknowledge a problem. Where is the money? Where is it going? Why are the [1:20:01] first responders, the teachers, the police not asking the right question? [1:20:06] Why are women being put into mental institutions and jails trying to protect [1:20:11] their own children? This happens nationwide, but it can stop [1:20:16] here. And we can do it together. You might [1:20:20] say, "Who am I to be asking this? Who are you to be stepping up? Oh, well, I'm [1:20:27] a man. I don't do that. It's not my problem." Who are we not to respond? [1:20:33] Who are you to look into the eyes of a woman or a child in this parish and say, [1:20:38] "I don't know where those funds are going, and I don't know why they didn't [1:20:41] treat you white, right? And I don't know why you're not protected." It has to [1:20:46] stop. And it starts with clarity and transparency and no blame. But what can [1:20:52] we do? So I'm requesting that this information be presented to me publicly [1:20:58] or privately. There is a law in Louisiana that says when you request [1:21:03] this information, it should be given to you in 3 days. I'm included on this [1:21:07] paper all of the legal obligations requiring disclosure. Louisiana public [1:21:13] law records. um the Violence Against Women Act, the Violence of Crime Act, [1:21:18] the Louisiana Domestic Abuse Assistance Act. Um and there's um also I'd like to [1:21:24] say I am in here in good faith not speaking confrontation, but clarity. [1:21:30] Transparency is not only a legal duty of this board. [1:21:35] It is an act of respect for the residents that you represent. [1:21:41] » Thank you. >> Thank you for your service. Y [1:21:44] Is that it? >> No, I was. [1:21:46] » So, okay. So, so she's asking for a Freedom of Information Act specific only [1:21:49] to this council because we can only address with this council's and so she [1:21:53] would is does she need to submit something in writing to you, Miss [1:21:55] Carlen? And that would be only specific to us and that's it. So, all these other [1:21:59] entities, funding sources, you'd have to identify and go after them. And because [1:22:02] I didn't hear you mention any funding sources that you're asking of. You [1:22:05] asking how they're being spent. So, it might be a little confusing on how you [1:22:08] » Well, I have three minutes. So, >> yeah, [1:22:10] » I do have the funding sources. I mean, I think y'all y'all administrate about $58 [1:22:14] million. Correct. >> Um, in domestic violence. [1:22:19] » No, not in domestic violence completely, and I think a lot of those grants [1:22:22] overlap controlling the rights and and laws that protect women and children. I [1:22:27] I don't know how it's funding and how it's going into that program, but I know [1:22:31] that you have a commission for women and I think it's only $10,000. So, out of a [1:22:36] $ 58 million budget, I know that those things have to go through a grant [1:22:40] process. Mhm. >> But some of those grants do overlap to [1:22:43] protect women and children. >> I would request if you stay after the [1:22:46] meeting, you can just consult with Miss Carlen. She'll make sure she gets the [1:22:48] right information for exactly so she can try to research exactly what you're [1:22:51] looking for. >> Absolutely. I'm only looking for you [1:22:53] guys to give me the information then you can. I know we all have limited things [1:22:56] within our scope of control. >> Thank you, ma'am. [1:22:59] » Thank you. >> Very good. I'll now entertain a motion [1:23:02] to resume back to regular schedule meeting. Uh so move and that's bringing [1:23:06] us back to item discussion. So moved by Mr. Arab, second by Mr. Melvin. All in [1:23:10] favor signify by saying I. Anyone opposed? Motion passes 8A zone absent. [1:23:14] Absence being Councilman Adams brings us to item M discussion. And Mr. Ora, I [1:23:18] know you have some discussion. If you want to press you, we'll recognize you [1:23:21] first. Go ahead, sir. >> Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Uh, a couple of [1:23:24] items. So, senior sources. We had a senior sources event [1:23:28] um that our district attorney, Christine Russell, puts on and invites all the [1:23:32] elected officials to provide services to our seniors. We had one in Larose Ro [1:23:37] today, but there will be another one coming up in Tibido on Tuesday 10:21. [1:23:41] That is a week from today at 11:00 a.m. So, of course, inviting council members [1:23:46] to come by if you can. Also, um I'm sure that you've already received information [1:23:52] on this, but I want to remind you that on Thursday, that is this Thursday, [1:23:57] October 16th, we are doing a dedication for the Port Fushon Terraces and Living [1:24:01] Shoreline. Um, if you could come out, there's going to be a dedication at [1:24:07] 11:00 a.m. and then there's going to be a lunch and a project tour of the area [1:24:11] also. So that that is again Thursday, October 16th at 11:00 a.m. down in [1:24:16] Fusho. I want to personally invite everyone to come. Thank you, Mr. [1:24:21] Chairman. >> Thank you, Mr. Ozro. Anyone else have [1:24:23] any kind of discussion? Mr. Lraine, you have the floor, sir. Yeah, I what I want [1:24:27] to do is uh last Friday on October the 10th [1:24:32] uh there was a at the Golden Meta Oakidge Park there was a trunk or treat [1:24:37] and I want to thank the mayor Buzzigar, Councilman Jody Sher, [1:24:44] Councilman Kip Pleasance, Councilman Nancy Fillinich, Councilman Mike Bilard, [1:24:51] and Councilman Connie Deir who's in charge of the park. They had over 2,000 [1:24:57] people there and they gave out hot dogs, drinks. The kids enjoyed themselves. I [1:25:04] think the grown-ups enjoyed themselves more than the kids. They had some of [1:25:08] them that were were costumes. It was unbelievable, man. [1:25:12] And uh I just I just want to thank them for putting that on. I'm I'm telling [1:25:16] you, they had Mr. Day was there. They had at least [1:25:21] 2,000 people, maybe more. you dressed up. [1:25:24] » And I want to thank the town officials for doing that. And I want to thank [1:25:28] Mitch for finally starting uh Oakidge uh Ridgewood Drive and Ducy [1:25:37] Street. Thank you. All right. Thank you, Mr. Lraine. So, I'll end the meeting by [1:25:42] once again because we are in October, which is fire prevention month, just [1:25:47] remind everyone, your constituents uh to make sure they have smoke alarms. They [1:25:51] actually do make a difference. They do save lives. Uh each of the fire [1:25:54] departments have access to smoke alarms through the state fire marshall's [1:25:57] office. So please um get that word out. We we certainly appreciate it. And with [1:26:03] that said, I entertain a motion um that there being no further business. The [1:26:08] food council 14th, 2025 will be adjourned. So moved by Mr. Perk, second [1:26:12] by Mr. Brumfield. All in favor signify by saying I. [1:26:16] » I. And we are adjourned at 1826 hours by a vote of 8 yay zero nas one absence [1:26:24] being Mr. Adams. [1:26:29] in your 30.
