[0:02] Okay, we'll go ahead and uh call to order the Board of Works [0:06] meeting. Stand for the pledge. [0:13] » I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the [0:18] republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and [0:24] justice for all. [0:30] » Okay, let's do a roll call. Mark McAfee. [0:36] Present tonight. James Strange. [snorts] [0:39] » Here. [0:42] » Danny Clark. >> Here. [0:43] » Randy Harrington. >> Here. [0:46] » Mayor Ayers. Present. City attorney. [0:50] » Present. [0:58] » Everybody had a chance to look at the minutes of the meeting from last month? [1:02] » [snorts] >> Yep. [1:04] » I'd like to make a motion to approve the minutes [1:07] from last month. >> I'll make a motion to approve. [1:13] » Second? >> I'll second. [1:17] » All in favor? >> Aye. [1:26] » I know we were just discussing this a few seconds ago before the meeting. Uh [1:29] last month, you know, we we looked at uh [1:34] And we had money from the annex, the back area [snorts] where the senior [1:37] citizens and the lab, the dance, the SIDC, and all that. Is there any of that [1:41] money going to go We're going to have that put back into [1:45] where that money actually goes back into that building for updates and stuff, for [1:49] maintenance and stuff like that. So, um [1:53] we'll just bring that forward to the council and We'll vote on that in the [1:56] next meeting, we can do this by motion or or resolution or ordinance, but [2:01] what would you recommend on that, Steve? >> You can do a resolution, but [2:05] it needs to be voted on. >> Okay. [2:07] All right. [2:11] Utility adjustments, pretty short pretty short agenda, I guess. [2:15] » What happened? I'll go over it. [2:23] I do have something just to kind of throw out there. [2:31] » Concerning the utility adjustments? >> No, on new business. [2:36] » Okay. Well, let's get the [2:38] utility adjustments out of the way here. [2:42] » [clears throat] >> Okay, I want to make a motion [2:45] » I'll make a motion. >> to adopt the adjustments. [2:48] All right. >> I'll second. [2:51] » All in favor? >> Aye. [2:55] » Okay, Daniel, what do you have on new business? [2:58] » [clears throat] >> So, I talked a little bit about the [3:01] building back here and stuff and this is some of the things that uh [3:05] that kind of near and dear to me. [3:07] Are you talking to me or >> [laughter] [3:11] [cough] >> Uh go ahead. [3:13] » Um so, previously [3:16] um like it was 2 months ago, [3:19] we talked about the status system at the sewer plant. [3:23] Uh we got all of our quotes back and I just kind of wanted to let you guys get [3:27] a final price on everything. Um and then there was some [3:32] couple things added that weren't in there, [clears throat] [3:34] so the price kind of went up a little bit, not much. [3:37] Uh and then there was another panel that uh [3:40] is totally a total failure. Um but it was said it was put in in [3:45] approximately 2012. The whole the whole panel that has to be [3:49] replaced. Um the cooling system went out of it, so everything just pressed. [3:54] And more or less caught on fire, I guess you could say. It just sits there. [3:58] Bakes in the sun all day. The wiring, you can grab the wires. [4:02] And then they just crumble. Um so it's a a whole panel replacement [4:06] on that. Um but just for the original part um [4:14] Put back here. It was uh quoted at $109,429 [4:19] for the material and then uh [4:22] the labor, we finally got the quote in for the the price for the labor uh came [4:26] in at 55,900. So the total for that [4:30] part of the project will be $165,329. So it was previously approved. I just [4:35] wanted to give you guys the total amount there. [4:39] Um the the panel replacement um which was [4:43] something It hadn't It's been total total failure [4:47] for probably 4 years now. So we've kind of just been dealing with it. [4:52] It The price to totally rebuild it with a new panel and everything is $66,000. [4:58] Um that is through the same company that'll [5:01] be here doing all the other work. So they gave us a break on uh labor and [5:05] everything as well since they'll already be here. [5:08] Um so I kind of just wanted to get approval to see if we can [5:11] go ahead with that as well. Um with that thrown on it takes the total to uh 200 [5:18] $231,000. 329, so [5:22] » So what's in the panel? I mean I'm thinking like an electrical panel. So [5:25] I'm guessing >> Well it's it's a a DO panel. It reads [5:28] our DOs in our uh oxidation ditches and things. [5:32] » It's a VFD. VFD, a variable frequency drive. [5:36] » Yeah and it kicks on our our um [5:39] » So it controls everything. >> Yeah and oxidation ditches more or less, [5:42] you know. >> Is this out of the [5:44] » wastewater plant, yeah. >> Well [5:47] » new panel will be protected, so like you said, it sits in the sun, so I [5:51] mean it's in the weather. >> So, it'll have all new electric and [5:55] everything. The the AC part of it will all be all new, so that'll be none. Um [6:00] kind of the issue with it, from my [6:03] understanding, was when it did fail, it was already obsolete. [6:07] So, it was hard to get the parts to fix it. [6:09] This being a newly updated panel, it won't be such an issue. [6:13] Um and then it'll be that company that we all met [6:16] with in here, and he said all his parts are they keep majority of them on hand, [6:20] so it won't be anything. >> I just said no, if there could be a [6:23] lean-to or something built over to protect it. [6:25] » Oh, yeah, we could we could do that in house. I mean, that's nothing. [6:28] » That was the intention years ago, but it never got done. [6:32] And it is a stainless steel panel. And it sits there in the sun and bakes. [6:38] » Oh, yeah, it gets hot in there. >> So, I just wanted to throw that out and [6:43] ask for an approval to probably move on to the council to present it as well. Um [6:49] while they're here, if they could go ahead and get all the material ordered, [6:52] so everything's in operation when it's all done. [6:59] » Do you want to include the lean-to as part of that, even though it's in house? [7:03] » I mean, that wouldn't be That wouldn't be but probably five or [7:06] six hundred bucks, it wouldn't be anything. So, [7:08] » But that way we ensure it gets done as opposed to just talking about it, right? [7:10] » Yeah. Yeah, and that the 66,000, that was I don't know, I got it was rounded [7:15] up. It was uh [7:21] It was close. Well, [7:24] 968.75, so I mean, it was 32 bucks added, so [7:29] and that'll buy some screws for the lean-to, but [7:32] » Now, modernize everything out there? >> Yeah. [7:34] Yeah, after that, it's pretty well taken care of. [7:37] » I'll make the uh I'll make the motion for the new panel [7:41] replacement. >> I second. [7:44] » All in favor. >> Aye. [7:45] » Thank you. >> Where's the link to it? [7:48] » We'll get it all out as soon as it's installed. We got [7:52] » And you're looking at my road. >> I don't even know what they're [7:56] » I don't know about that. >> I don't know. [7:59] » Figure that. [8:02] » I'll write it down. >> Fire department headquarters. And when [8:05] you have your assistant back up, make sure you have your [8:10] » Uh June, we had 85 service calls, 86 line [8:14] locates, 336 office stalls, [8:19] and water treatment plant, [8:24] 15.36 million gallons, [8:28] » [snorts] >> and average of [8:31] 495,000 gallons a day. Sold 8 million, 8. [8:37] 3.8 million gallons to Davis Road water. At the wastewater plant, [8:43] uh it was 18.56576 million gallons at 62% capacity, [8:49] at a 619,000 gallons a day average, with a total of 14 in of rain for the [8:54] month. [8:58] » So Mayor, is he going to give us the update on what's happening with the [9:00] different units and stuff this month? I just want to make sure the public [9:04] knows about the crossroads money and that kind of stuff. [9:07] I mean, some of it's obvious cuz you can see it, but [9:10] or is it Are we going to do that later on? [9:12] Is Danny going to do that or are you? >> I can do it. [9:14] » Okay. [9:17] » Okay. Fire Chief. [9:20] » [clears throat] >> Uh for the month of June, we had 46 runs [9:23] total. Uh we had 18 uh with the fire and 28 [9:27] medical runs as well. Um I did want to bring to your attention [9:31] I wasn't here last month. I apologize. Uh due to work, but the month before [9:35] that the we talked about the turnout here. I handed you guys the paperwork on [9:39] that. Um [9:42] Uh we have not received the invoice, but I do have the final quote on what it was [9:45] supposed to be. That was a I did mention that that was a mess-up. [9:49] Uh the guy that quit the quit that business was supposed to just turn [9:53] everything in for quotes and get it back to us. And he said, "I misunderstood." [9:57] This is the fourth time we bought gear from him, and we've never done it that [10:00] way. So, and I made a comment that we would just pull the $28,322 [10:04] out of our fire department donation. And I know it was mentioned about maybe [10:09] maybe splitting the cost or pulling it out of the budget. [10:11] Uh whatever you guys decide, the gear is here. I mean, we're going to pay for it, [10:15] so however, you know, the council and everybody wants to figure out how that I [10:19] mean, we're going to we're taking care of it. [10:21] » I thought the council already talked about it. [10:22] » Well, it was talked, but nothing was really said how much, or it was just [10:26] said about That's why I brought it up, and [10:28] and then we could just, you know, finalize it tonight. [10:30] » 28,322? >> Yeah. [10:33] » I remember our coach said something about [10:34] » Yeah. >> Yeah. [10:35] » Yeah, yeah. Smith uh Mr. Smith did, but I don't remember [10:39] if it was like pay half or some or what. I I couldn't remember on that one, so I [10:43] just want to bring it up again tonight. I did go to uh did write a letter, [10:48] uh really nice letter, and the request for Perry Township to pay for three or [10:52] four sets. Um I got a call back. [10:56] Um not the response I wanted, but I wanted a call versus email, but uh he [10:59] didn't say that he can buy [snorts] one set, but it has [11:02] to be January. He cannot do it right now. [11:06] So, he told me if I can give him a quote for that one set of gear, he can buy it [11:10] in January. Um as soon as January 1 cuts happens, [11:13] he'll write the check right away. So. [11:16] » Would that be on a reimbursement standpoint? [11:19] We'll reimburse you basically for what we already bought. [11:21] » Well, yeah. What I already bought basically. [11:23] Yeah, cuz I assumed he would buy three or four sets to help offset what we [11:27] already done, and then that kind of like could reimburse the part. But uh I was [11:30] told that >> [clears throat] [11:31] » uh yes, but not till January 1. [11:35] » Okay. >> So. [11:36] Uh, that's where that's at. Uh, the other thing you guys have is a [11:40] quote for, uh, for segregated wise and some, uh, or, [11:44] uh, gated suction Siamese valves. Uh, we have babied those in long enough, and we [11:50] have to go That's repair cost. I know it seems expensive, [11:53] but if we buy new ones, you're probably looking at about [11:57] probably about close to $10,000 for three new ones. Uh, so, yeah. So, it's [12:01] $5,749, uh, for the, uh, repairs of those [12:07] valves. >> [laughter] [12:08] » Uh, those valves that are on the truck and basically we can run off two hoses [12:11] and things like that. Some are for our hard suck, uh, suction hoses that we can [12:15] draft. So, like I said, we babied them long enough and it's time to have to, [12:20] you know, get those repaired. So. >> that cost again? [12:23] » Uh, $5,749. Um, [12:28] that's actually kind of happening, you know, because they were here working on [12:31] some things and then another merit had to repair. Uh, so, that's already in the [12:34] process and I said, yes, we have to and I was bringing [12:37] it to you guys tonight. I don't like doing that, but it was an emergency [12:40] thing we had to get fixed. >> All right, you got it in your budget [12:43] then. [12:45] » Yeah. >> So, what's the longevity for replacing [12:49] them? >> Oh, [snorts] replacing? Oh, yeah. Uh, [12:51] we're good. We'll be good. The main thing is like what is [12:54] » these for years, haven't we? From from repairing them [12:56] » No, we've had these >> or from replacing them. [12:58] » We've had these since we've had the truck. [13:00] And the truck's >> What is 90? [13:04] » 97. 90 90 90 No, it's 99, I think. >> So, the repair will last how long? [13:09] » Uh, we'll probably get five uh, probably 7 to 10 years out of it. [13:13] » Okay. >> Yeah. [13:14] » And if we bought new ones, how long would we get out of it? [13:17] About 20 years. >> Well, probably [13:19] could be the same, could be longer. I mean, I you know, but [13:22] » I mean, you spend $5,000 to get six five years, six years, or you can spend [13:26] $10,000 and get 20 or 30 years. >> I don't know. I Well, the water around [13:31] here is terrible anyway, so it just depends with all the sealants and things [13:33] like that. >> That's fine. [13:36] » He knows it. >> You see what I'm saying? [13:38] » No, I know exactly what you're saying. Yeah. [13:39] » Yeah. >> Is is it worth just going and getting [13:41] the the new ones as opposed to >> Right now, no. And I'll tell you why. [13:45] Because we're going to have to replace the truck. [13:48] And the fittings we have that we have now may not work on the new truck. [13:51] » Okay. >> So, I think right now repairing what we [13:54] have >> Is the better approach? [13:55] » is the better approach because I'd rather save that money and go towards [13:58] the the truck. [clears throat] >> Okay. [14:00] » I will say something about our water. Our water is better than bottled water. [14:04] » [clears throat] >> Listen, I'm not arguing with that. [14:06] » I'm just saying. [snorts] >> I seen it come out of the truck. [14:09] » [laughter] >> Um just real quick, going to give you [14:11] guys a um more of an update. We have went with a [14:15] new company uh to service our trucks. Nichols out of Evansville. [14:19] Um was good. Uh the the owner passed away [14:23] several years ago and the technician that does all their trucks quit. [14:28] And I asked him for some advice and he said, "Run." [14:30] » Oh. >> And we actually got another This is out [14:33] more out of Louisville. So, a little bit further than Evansville, [14:36] but they're really good company. Come up. They found some stuff. Actually [14:40] found a bolt that was in our uh [14:44] Yeah, you're going to like this one. So, when they did the repairs and stuff, [14:47] they saw Oh, they found a regular bolt in place of an oil drain plug. [14:52] So, there's this regular bolt in there. So, they went through our trucks. We had [14:54] to go through them, check them out, and everything. So, we actually they're [14:58] we're being billed for something we didn't have to have fixed. [15:02] Right now, they should have actually went with the uh [15:04] done the process and look at the gauges first for our water level. They changed [15:08] the most expensive piece in there, so. Right now, I'm arguing with that bill. [15:12] » I'm paying that one, but >> cuz I feel like they didn't do anything [15:15] right with it. So, we're going with them. [15:18] Um >> What's the name of the one in [15:19] Louisville? >> Uh [15:20] they are [15:24] fire uh fire department services and net supply, FDS and AS. [15:28] That's what we got the quote for that. >> Up here in [15:30] » Yeah. >> So, um we've done some research. Um [15:33] matter of fact, we've actually put them in touch with Scholes Fire. Um I think [15:39] Blossom River Fire, Civil Defense, cuz they're what we're looking to. And [15:43] matter of fact, they're probably going to [15:45] before too long be in service in Crane um on their trucks. [15:49] Cuz they are are buying around here in Nickels. [15:51] Everything, so um [15:54] But I just want to kind of give you guys an update on that. [15:56] On that what's going on. We are having an IVFA district meeting this this [16:00] Wednesday at 6:30. Uh this is our yearly meeting we have, [16:03] so you guys are more than welcome to show up and kind of see what kind of [16:06] goes on at those meetings. >> Don't you have any event at the end of [16:10] the month you can talk about? >> We do. We actually do. Yes, we have the [16:13] fire run, thank you, at the end of this uh month. It's our fifth annual Jeep [16:17] run. We call it the fire run, so it's a fun good time. We actually raise [16:22] some good money and that money is put right back into our department to help [16:25] uh buy things. [16:27] » What day is that? >> The 25th. [16:29] » 25th. >> Uh registration's at 8:00. [16:32] Wheels uh rolling at 10:00, but you can still uh register online. [16:39] » Thanks for mentioning that. I didn't know that. [16:40] » T-shirts made on site? >> Uh they will have some t-shirts they can [16:44] do on site. Um they'll have certain amount of sizes and [16:48] everything else, but you can get them online as well. [16:50] » Can you get a 6 double L L L L or whatever? [16:53] » You might want to call ahead on that one. [16:54] » I mean, if if you want, but other than that, I probably wouldn't. [16:57] » to special order those. >> Are you needing a motion on the Siamese [17:02] go-rounds? [17:05] » I get I well >> It's part of this budget, right? [17:09] » Yeah, it's part of my budget. I just kind of let you guys know what's [17:12] going on. So >> Part of this meeting is budget, so he's [17:15] to maintain >> Yeah, that that that's going to cut into [17:18] quite a bit of it though. >> But you got to look at the underlying [17:21] issue here. At some point we got to be serious about [17:25] getting another truck. [17:29] A lot of things going on and [17:32] you know, >> He's already He's already said without [17:35] saying it. He's like the apple of his dad's eye. [17:38] » So, we got to start starting now because with a new truck [17:41] now you're out anywhere from 18 to 20-some months. [17:47] » So, that's >> Yeah, that's I know right now Crane's [17:49] looking to get one. They're out anywhere between 24 to 48 months. [17:53] » And how much is a new one? Million? [17:56] » Yes. I mean, with all the bells and whistles. [17:59] Do we need all the bells and whistles? I always like all the bells and [18:03] whistles, you know. But no. [18:06] » I mean, you know, 2 years out >> Yeah. [18:08] » million dollars. >> How much is up front probably 20%? Just [18:11] to order? >> I'd say roughly 20 to 22%. [18:14] » I've never >> heard before, [18:16] » I've seen several on the highway here traveling lately, but [18:20] » You said that one is a quarter of a million next to that 650 and it looked [18:24] like a regular truck and it was almost a million. [18:26] » These might be better served being in a museum somewhere. [18:30] I don't think that'd help us, but they're out there. [18:34] They're sitting on the highway for a reason. [18:37] » All right. >> I guess that's all I have. [18:41] » These case [18:44] » We had uh 134 calls in June. Um so up from last month. I don't have the June [18:50] numbers in front of me, but I think it was around 112, 114 give or take. [18:55] Uh we had 10 cases pulled, three arrests. Uh one case that started in [19:00] June. Um or towards the end of June. Uh Chief [19:05] Stuckey actually just found the two suspects suspects for that. We had a [19:08] stolen purse in town that actually contained a loaded firearm. So, he was [19:12] able to track that down, located the purse was ditched, but he was able to [19:16] locate the firearm. It's logged in our evidence until we can [19:19] get that back to the actual victim or to the to the rightful owner. [19:22] but, those two individuals are actually in jail, too. So, a lot of our stuff has [19:25] still been reported and we're working long-term investigations. So, uh between [19:29] the two of us, we've been pretty hopping. [19:31] Um Assistant Chief Stuckey and K9 Rip just finished their [19:35] patrol certification with his canine with K9 Rip. [19:39] Um so, we've already had several deployments for his dog. [19:42] Um First deployment, they actually went [19:45] ahead and actually did find narcotics in that very first one, first shift [19:48] together. So, uh seems like they're going to be a very [19:50] successful team. We're I'm very fortunate to have him in the department, [19:55] but I'm looking forward to see what they can actually contribute and what we can [19:58] find moving down the road. Um [20:01] As far as uh that goes, I got some documents here, [20:05] Mayor. I'll give you another one of these. We talked about this [20:08] last week when we met again today. >> You talked about [20:11] » Yeah, so, there's some paperwork here for the committee for you. [20:14] » I think just that back one is what we're talking about. [20:15] » That is. [20:25] » So, in front of you, you'll see uh three different pages. [20:28] Uh I'll jump to the back page first. Um that is our current city ordinance on [20:36] members of the police department if they would happen to leave prior to three [20:40] years of employment. Um just giving getting certain uh restitution or a [20:46] payback out of them if they would leave the department early trying to keep with [20:49] keeping guys on the department. Um Last time that that was [20:54] modified, changed, it's been in place back in 1982. As you can see on the [20:58] ordinance, um talked to um [21:02] the ILEA attorney and they're okay with how that is. Of course, they say they [21:06] can't give legal advice, but they're okay with the way it's uh as far as the [21:10] verbiage on it. >> [laughter] [21:11] » Um but I'd like to bring it in front of the board just to see if there's [21:13] anything you'd like to update or at least say we can say, you know, this has [21:17] been reviewed and amended or reviewed and updated effective more recently [21:21] since, you know, 1992. It's been over 30 years ago that this has [21:26] been put into place. So, I think we're okay to still use it for the two new [21:30] officers that are coming on the department right now, but it's something [21:33] I would like to get changed for the future of the department looking ahead. [21:37] The first two pages, uh Senate Bill 95 came into play last [21:41] July. Uh it talks about if an officer would [21:46] get hired, get through the academy, and then [21:50] they're here for a little bit or say I don't want to graduate with the academy, [21:52] they jump to another agency. What this talks about, it breaks it down [21:56] on um [21:58] time frame. At the bottom of the first page, you'll see like the reimbursement [22:01] obligation. That goes to 3 years or it goes up to 3 years, but that's 3 years [22:06] post certification. It says like your initial [22:09] certification. Well, that's putting them through with that 40-hour pre-basic [22:12] course is to get guys just initially certified to go out and be a police [22:15] officer and and start FTO and start the process. That's not the certification [22:20] this state law's talking about. Senate Bill 95 actually is referring to their [22:24] academy graduation. For us, it'd be that Tier 1 graduation. So, [22:29] um that would be something once we find out [22:31] what what academy they're going to attend, we can put that date in here. [22:35] They have to sign this before they're actually employed. That way, if they go [22:38] to another agency, uh that would cover them if they um [22:42] get hired by another agency and and leave and put their notice in and just [22:45] leave, that would cover if they try to like I guess back door the situation, [22:51] resign, and say, "Hey, I'm just getting out of it." And then 2 weeks later, I [22:54] get a call saying they go to another agency. That's part of that agency [22:58] supposed to notify us cuz they have to get their file. So, part of that um part [23:02] of other previous um just [23:05] laws that they put into place, they were required now to give officers files to [23:11] any other law enforcement agency. So, I just wanted you guys to review that, [23:15] make sure you guys are good with that, and get [23:18] I know I guess I've sent this to Mr. Key as well as well [23:21] just to go ahead and start using this contract that way I can get our two new [23:25] hires to sign it and be able to move on. So, if it's something you even need to [23:29] wait on review and then get back with me, I just wanted to put that in front [23:34] of the board as well. >> We need to [23:37] on the on the back page, Chief of Police / Town Board Representative, that needs [23:42] to probably be changed from town to >> city. [23:45] » City. >> Okay, that's and that's fine. [23:52] On the [23:55] Trying to find it here. Under two, the terms of service, it shows like the [23:58] commencement date. That would be like the gradual their graduation date, and [24:02] that's when that 3 years goes into effect. So, you know, essentially, if we [24:05] have a guy that is that we hire and they're not going until close to the end [24:09] of that first year. You know, state law says you have to have them through the [24:11] academy or at least entered into the academy within that [24:14] first year of employment. So, say they go through and their graduation is [24:18] towards the end of that first year. Technically, this state law covers you [24:21] could have them employed for 4 years before they want to try to move and have [24:24] another agency pay them pay try to pay us for training. And then, as you see at [24:28] the bottom of that first page, it talks about how much [24:31] each percentage is based on the years of service that you'd be losing. [24:37] So. >> And all this is after the academy? [24:41] » Yes, this is after the academy. Unfortunate Unfortunately, if [24:44] » they don't resign, we can't charge them for like uniforms and things like that. [24:47] » No, well, that would that would go under the city ordinance. So, like when I went [24:52] to chief school, that was one thing they recommended was that you have them not [24:55] only sign cuz before they put the state law into place, a lot of places did this [24:58] city organs. >> Yeah. [25:00] Um they'd recommend that you not only have them sign something for the city [25:03] ordinance, but then a second document that makes them aware of Senate Bill 95. [25:07] » And we already have that ordinance in place? [25:09] » So, the ordinance is in place as effective 1992. [25:14] » Okay. >> But, I would like to at least amend [25:16] something in in the coming by next month. I'd like to get something typed [25:20] up to at least amend it if you guys have any um [25:24] input on what if you'd like something added in there. But, that covers just [25:27] the civil obligation that they would pay back and that's that's outside of the [25:30] state law. This two-page document is in regards to the state law they put into [25:35] place and they just passed back in July of last year. [25:38] Or they sorry, went into effect July of last year. [25:44] » So, you need a motion to approve this to move it forward? [25:48] » I would like to have a motion, yes. That way it's something that we can at least [25:51] put in the minutes and that it's not something they say, "Well, I don't want [25:53] to sign it." Um cuz potentially if if they don't sign [25:57] it, then from what I'm understanding from the academy is that if they don't [26:01] sign it, [snorts] then I can't hold them to this. And I [26:05] mean, and technically if I don't have them sign it before their first day of [26:08] employment, I can't hold them to this. This has to be signed before they're [26:12] ever hired and sworn in. >> Okay. [26:15] » So, >> and the sooner we get it instituted, the [26:18] sooner we get the new police officer. >> Yes. [26:20] » All right. I would say if you want to make a motion on this to just put in a [26:24] motion that you know, town board would >> With the changes on the signature page? [26:28] » Yes. >> Yeah. [26:29] » And that's my apology. I I missed that, Mayor. So, that's my fault. [26:31] » I'll make a motion to approve the the reimbursement agreement with the [26:35] changes that Mayor noted [26:37] » Okay. >> signature page. [26:39] » I'll second. >> All in favor? [26:41] » Aye. [26:44] » I want to thank you. And uh [26:48] I want to congratulate Chief Garrett and [26:52] Rick for >> Thank you. [26:54] » getting their certifications and everything and [26:58] what you've already done and what you get done. Appreciate that. [27:00] » Appreciate it. Thank you. >> Oh, sorry. Mayor, real quick. [27:05] » Rick, who is Rick? >> We Our two new guys, they have been sent [27:09] off to perf. They went to perf last week on the 7th. [27:14] So, I'm supposed to have the results within 7 to 10 business days. [27:18] So, I'm waiting to hear back from them. I know one of our guys [27:22] he had to have his eyes checked again, which wasn't a major thing. He's already [27:24] had that done. They sent the paperwork off. So, I'm hoping to get something [27:27] this week. So, that's one of the reasons why I want to make sure we get this [27:29] approved and get it done. That way we can have them sign it and move forward [27:34] with everything they have going on. >> So, you're looking by 1 August, [27:38] hopefully? >> So, yes, cuz the next academy date is [27:42] end of August. I'd like to have them both enrolled in or have them both [27:45] approved. But, that's pending that I get them through all of this and we we hear [27:48] back from the perf. >> Okay. [27:50] » So. >> All right. Thank you. [27:53] » Thank you. >> Um [27:56] I want to I I want to give a shout out to our [28:00] local law enforcement, fire department, city employees. [28:06] We uh right after Summerfest, you know, we had [28:10] a great [clears throat] Summerfest and that Sunday night all heck broke loose [28:14] with the weather. [snorts] And um [28:18] it was basically all hands on deck. Uh we had several several streets [28:23] flooded, had the highway flooded. They had to rescue [28:26] five people out of a vehicle on the highway out there in front of the bank [28:29] and Dairy Queen. Uh [28:33] Daniel here, he was like Paul Hogan and you know, all heat. [28:38] Went in the water and rescued someone out of a trailer. [28:41] Uh so, [28:43] » [clears throat] >> you know, [28:46] our city employees don't just have an 8:00 to 4:00 or 9:00 to 5:00 job. It's [28:51] 24/7 depending on what the circumstances are [28:54] and what's going on and people don't realize [28:58] what they put themselves out there for for public safety and everything. And [29:04] everybody came together that night. There were There was a couple of things [29:07] I know that the radio was going and and uh there were some confusions [29:11] [clears throat] on on a few things, but overall with what our [29:15] own local law enforcement, fire department, and [29:19] our departments work together very, very, very well. [29:24] And uh I just want to say that I appreciate what you all [29:31] were able to get accomplished that night. You know, we didn't have you [29:34] know, there there was a lot of cars that were out, a lot of wrecks and different [29:37] things and streets closed and we had to get cones up and stuff. I mean, [29:41] Red Wing Trailer Court was under uh so much of it was under. Uh [29:46] And uh also the conservation officer, cuz he came out and got his [29:50] » Can Can Can I confirm it? >> Yep. He walked through there and [29:53] he was checking the residents. So, uh it was it was a long night [29:58] uh for everybody and uh I just think that they need to be [30:01] recognized of of how well of a job you guys have been doing and and what you [30:05] put yourselves out there for because you get a call, you drop everything [30:10] you're doing and you go. So, thank you. [30:13] » Thank you, Mayor. >> Thank you. [30:15] » Thank you. >> I don't have anything else unless Danny [30:19] wants to talk about the >> No. [30:21] » No, we're good. Safe. >> Sure? [30:23] » Yeah. >> I second the motion. [30:26] » Danny's already got it going. [30:30] » You know the one went to the windows. >> Well, uh [30:33] ask for motion to adjourn. [30:36] I'll make the motion. >> I second. [30:39] » All in favor. >> Aye. [30:40] » Aye. [30:47] » Please be here. Stand as still as Please don't
