[0:08] we get everything together we are all [0:11] set thank you ping the meeting to order [0:15] thank you all for coming [0:17] today could you please um establish a [0:20] forum J yes I will go ahead and start [0:24] with um commissioner gallager [0:27] Thompson commissioner Dixon commissioner [0:30] Trel here chair Cohen here commissioner [0:34] bassi here Vice chair Olsen here and [0:37] commissioner Buckle here we do have a [0:40] full a full Quorum [0:56] present to the flag of the United States [0:59] of America [1:00] and to the Republic for which it stands [1:03] one nation under God indivisible with [1:20] liberty [1:22] comments there is no one currently um uh [1:27] no cards have been turned in up this [1:29] time [1:35] okay so we're moving to item [1:38] consideration first thing are the [1:47] minut people have a chance to check it [1:51] out do I have a motion to [1:54] approve [1:56] second all in favor say I [2:00] opposed [2:07] abser thank you very much although last [2:11] time I asked them they said they could [2:14] vote which to me doesn't make any sense [2:17] at all because if you weren't here how [2:19] can you [2:23] approve [2:25] majority okay so the next item is the [2:28] work plan our [2:31] Bible are with a lot of revisions for [2:34] Bible yes so uh we did provide a printed [2:38] copy for everyone um that is the packet [2:41] that is in front of you um so this [2:44] incorporates all of the changes that the [2:47] commission discussed at your meeting in [2:50] January um and so this represents the um [2:54] the transportation piece uh was [2:56] completed but the two updated ones um [3:00] the social participation um the [3:02] collaboration with Club 55 for the um [3:05] calling it kind of a fall fling um until [3:08] maybe there is maybe a a a title that [3:12] the um ad hoc committee comes up with um [3:16] and then I did list um because that was [3:18] part of the conversation which is not [3:21] listed because it would technically fall [3:23] in the next term but the hope that the [3:25] fall fling would could turn into um [3:28] hosting a spring in in [3:31] 2026 so that again would fall into the next term but that is uh captured in [3:38] the work plan and then the other larger [3:41] event is the um health fair which is on [3:45] the second page um and obviously that is [3:48] currently in progress we have the date [3:50] and time secured in September and so if [3:54] there are any changes or adjustments [3:57] that need to be made um but [4:00] uh this should reflect the conversation [4:02] that we had at our January [4:06] meeting yes it was also included in the [4:09] packet as [4:12] well don't get up don't get [4:15] up City Council leaz on are new count [4:19] correct glad that you're with us well [4:21] thank you I'm happy to be here I [4:23] requested this Commission [4:32] really pay [4:34] attention so where are where where [4:38] would [4:39] sorry question about the health fair [4:42] because last time we talked about [4:44] September versus October and I thought [4:47] we didn't decide yet on the DAT I [4:51] thought that Jamie was going to Che [4:53] about availability or both the place was [4:55] available both [4:57] stes so I wonder the because it says [5:00] September so I wondered if we are now [5:03] set for September I so yeah could you [5:07] speak a little louder louder the we do [5:11] have the microphone as [5:14] well yes and we we just need to make [5:17] sure it's turned [5:23] on that [5:26] better okay great saying last month we [5:30] talked about the Frozen ponds of [5:32] September versus October for the health [5:35] there so people prer October others were [5:38] saying September and I think Jamie to [5:40] check on availability of the venue so I [5:44] and I think [5:46] we could [5:49] you could you take off your mask the um [5:53] air movement is sufficient a little that [5:57] um this is not a closed environment this [6:05] is yeah it's a I'll do it [6:11] for let me say again we had a discussion [6:14] about the difference in [6:17] the likelihood of people attending if it [6:20] was September versus October with the [6:23] thought that September might be too [6:24] early people right after L day and [6:28] October had some advant [6:30] because was us more time to plan as well [6:34] um so I thought it was left open and [6:37] then G was going to check availability [6:39] of the venue and that we would decide [6:41] today what the actual date was going to [6:46] be I I pi to different I I thought it [6:49] was pretty [6:51] much [6:53] yeah so uh clarification um and the [6:57] commission does have options So based [7:00] upon the conversation that the [7:02] commission had in November the priority [7:05] date was this was September um that date [7:09] has been booked but the October date has [7:12] also been booked as a backup so the ad [7:16] hoc subcommittee can determine during [7:19] the planning process if we need to [7:21] adjust to the October so both dates are [7:25] available but the first priority date [7:27] from the conversation in November was [7:30] September so that is what is currently [7:32] reflected we can update the work plan to [7:35] list both um so that it is clear that [7:38] both are [7:39] options is it premature to ask what the [7:42] specific dates are yes so [7:46] the no um so those dates uh were listed [7:51] it is um September uh it is so both are [7:56] Tuesday dates um the priority date was September 9th and that is the one [8:02] that is currently listed the um other [8:06] date I believe in I believe it was [8:11] October 7th if I remember correctly so [8:15] those are the two dates um that are [8:19] currently secured and booked here at the [8:21] community center so both are options but [8:25] um September 9th umer [8:29] s so again I can update the work plan to [8:33] identify both of those dates if that [8:36] would be better for the commission [8:38] specific time yes the specific time the [8:42] event itself will be noon to 3: it will [8:46] be 3 hours and then there will obviously [8:49] be time for setup before and clean up [8:52] after but the event time frame was [8:55] selected from 12: to 3 [9:00] in the next September date was it a [9:02] Jewish holiday Chris remember you looked [9:04] it up can you check it [9:06] yes 23rd was [9:09] rash [9:13] yes conflict no so the 16th was [9:18] unavailable so the 16th was unavailable [9:21] and so that is why those two dates the [9:24] top priority was so the 9th and the 16th [9:28] the commission had preferred September [9:30] at least during the November discussion [9:33] um and so 16th was unavailable which is [9:36] why the 9th was booked the seventh was [9:39] booked as well as a backup so again the [9:41] um the subcommittee can determine during [9:44] the planning process if we would like to [9:47] adjust to the October date so both are [9:51] available I think it's great that we [9:53] have both dates because we have to light [9:54] up Seekers and right now we haven't done [9:57] any of that so it's good to have the two [10:00] days and I think maybe that would be the [10:02] determining factor for what the acre is [10:05] who can we [10:15] get I think the the rationale for the [10:19] September it not being the 9th is [10:21] because we don't have a meeting at [10:23] August right there's no meeting in [10:25] August is that no so there is a meeting [10:28] in August it is July and December that [10:31] we do not currently have meeting [10:33] scheduled now if it is needed we can set [10:36] up a special meeting but generally [10:39] speaking for regular meetings that the [10:41] commission holds there are no meetings [10:44] planned for July and December at this [10:50] time so uh with the is direction that we [10:54] would like to add notes that indicate [10:56] those two dates on the work plan [11:03] also please note which one is first dat [11:06] from which one is back yes we will go [11:08] ahead and do [11:13] that we going to discuss about the work [11:16] plan [11:17] now it um and so we can make those [11:20] adjustments and I will make sure that is reflected so that we can um have [11:26] the most current work plan when it is [11:29] submitted to city council for the joint [11:32] meeting um the only other piece is if [11:35] any adjustments need to be made or if [11:37] there want if the commission desired to [11:40] add anything else to the work plan um [11:43] but uh as I mentioned in January those [11:46] are two quite large events um and so I [11:50] think for this term I think that [11:53] probably would be sufficient along with [11:55] anything else that might come up with [11:56] the year but that is open for the [11:59] commission to discuss if you would like [12:01] to add anything [12:04] else uh remind me you were supposed to [12:08] send an an email putting the members of [12:12] the healthcare committee together in [12:15] terms of contact information and maybe [12:19] even so far as the first meeting I did [12:22] you send that email no not yet um and we [12:25] would want to make sure that the uh so I [12:28] have held off doing that just until the [12:31] work plan has been um approved and [12:34] finalized then we will go ahead and and [12:37] go forward with that including the um [12:40] Outreach for that piece and also the St [12:44] member assigned to the subcommittee [12:49] correct an information question since I [12:52] wasn't here the last time you guys had a [12:55] health fair what is the basic um goal of [12:58] the health fair [13:00] question so the pre uh I can just uh [13:04] provide a brief overview but um the the [13:08] adult 50 plus um in collaboration with [13:13] uh a few volunteers did host um a health [13:17] fair down at Grant Park in October um [13:21] and all of that information um and the [13:23] intent behind that one was to um provide [13:27] information on a variety of resources es [13:30] um and so that can be up to the [13:33] subcommittee as far as what the purpose [13:37] of the he of this upcoming health fair [13:39] that the commission would like to plan [13:42] that is open so at least initially when [13:45] we had talked about this for the work [13:47] plan um it was to expand upon what was [13:51] offered in October which was really just [13:53] bringing some vendors together but it [13:55] was um at least the commission [13:59] uh let or at least said that they wanted [14:02] to include uh potentially um discussions [14:06] or presentations on a variety of topics [14:12] in addition to having a few other [14:14] elements similar to that so it is up to [14:18] the subcommittee um what that um may be [14:21] potentially uh additional elements or [14:24] amenities that the event can [14:28] have I would say the purpose and [14:32] structure is yet to be [14:34] determined and I apologize for not being [14:38] here um last month I was still [14:43] recovering from some [14:45] surgery [14:47] um [14:50] so we have a lot of potential very much [14:54] I got a pass for my wife so that was all [14:57] I needed um so I think we will have to [15:01] have in the committee a discussion of [15:07] purpose absolutely and process wise um [15:11] if the commission is good at with the um [15:15] changes that was uh discussed now we can [15:19] update that and then uh once the work [15:22] plan is approved then we can start [15:24] moving forward with um those two [15:27] particular um work plan [15:33] items uh if there're um if there [15:38] is are there any other changes beside [15:41] the ones that we have [15:46] already I have a question if I want to [15:49] be on a working group within this the [15:53] health [15:54] fair that's not on the work plane right [15:58] no so what the work plan currently [16:00] highlights are the ad hoc subcommittees [16:03] and those are the overarching groups [16:05] that are tasked with those particular [16:08] pieces um from the training that we did [16:11] at the last meeting um as the [16:15] subcommittees go through and we can um [16:18] adjust as needed to assign the working [16:20] pairs um then we can identify those and [16:24] add to that under those specific [16:26] projects but we have not [16:29] discussed or kind of talked about some [16:31] of those um potential working pairs [16:33] coming up as we start planning the [16:35] events and then we can add that as we go [16:39] forward but this just represents the [16:41] current ad hoc committees that we [16:45] have just because we meet so [16:50] infrequently and I know of information [16:53] that I'm going to be part of which would [16:56] be helpful for choosing speakers or at [16:59] least having access me choosing them how [17:03] would I get that information out in [17:05] between meetings [17:08] say so it just in case I didn't have [17:11] this information but I get it tomorrow [17:13] and then I'm going oh I've got some [17:15] great options in which I've got [17:17] connections of people that would be [17:20] working on this so how would I get that [17:23] out to the group to go I think we can [17:26] clarify in a second let Char go and then [17:28] I want CL something go ahead so I wanted [17:32] to ask if there was a a [17:35] suitable provision made so that we can [17:38] have subcomittees within the health care [17:42] um or health [17:44] fair uh plan so that we can now have you [17:49] know there exists an ad hoc subcommittee [17:52] but we can have another [17:54] subcommittee so that we can decide all [17:56] right this fair is going to choose maybe [18:00] three areas in which they can find [18:02] speakers this Fair sort of but since [18:04] that would already mean you you are [18:07] already on the October [18:10] 2025 Halloween themed fall fling right [18:14] but that's my adoc so I can be on she missed the meeting so she didn't get [18:20] the that's what I needed to we have [18:24] like created besides the sub commmittee [18:27] a working care also so that's how we're [18:30] going to get more people more people [18:32] otherwise I was going to suggest that [18:33] maybe we move up the due date for the [18:35] Halloween te fall fling and we move it [18:38] up ahead so that you're freed up in [18:40] October well that's what I wanted to ask [18:43] it's going to go to Council on the 25th [18:45] of this month did and they get it [18:48] beforehand so they review it do they [18:50] approve it that night or do we hear [18:52] later and if so how much later no you [18:55] will get feed back you will the plan is [18:59] to get feedback and to have that [19:01] conversation with city council and that [19:04] goes a little bit into the next item but [19:07] correct so to do a brief overview into [19:10] commissioner dixit's question the um the [19:14] stipulation of Commissioners serving [19:16] only on one is specific to the ad hoc [19:19] subcommittee and the difference between [19:22] that is that that's the larger task um [19:25] an overarching group that is going to [19:27] manage that there is the flexibility to [19:30] create working pairs to help with [19:32] smaller components of the larger tasks [19:35] and you can be on as many working pairs [19:38] as needed to help accomplish some of [19:41] those things so the best example is with [19:45] the ad hoc committee that was created [19:47] for the health fair they're going to [19:49] manage the overall um task of the event [19:53] but you could create a working pair to [19:56] contact vendors to work out speakers to [20:01] look at maybe potential donations to [20:05] looking at what is the layout going to [20:07] be to what elements should be on the [20:10] flyer um so all of those different [20:13] pieces can be assigned so to the second [20:16] point that commissioner Olen brought up [20:19] is we want to get um uh approval of the [20:23] work plan um and once that occurs then [20:27] we can actually um it should be um an [20:31] item for [20:32] consideration and it could be then [20:34] assigning the working pairs early on so [20:38] that um and again since you can be on as [20:41] many working pairs as needed we can then [20:45] have that as an item for for [20:47] consideration maybe March and April and [20:50] we can assign those working pairs so [20:52] that the Commissioners know and they [20:55] have the opportunity to volunteer or [20:58] sign up for those different pieces um [21:01] and then in regards to sharing [21:04] information um [21:07] the if there is information that needs [21:10] to be shared um [21:12] obviously myself as the liazon can help [21:15] be the conduit to get information out to [21:18] the full commission if that's needed but [21:21] in between I think your question is [21:23] coming up [21:26] really on how to or actually maybe let [21:30] me make sure that I understand your [21:31] question um am I understanding your [21:33] question correctly commissioner Al or or [21:37] am I missing the [21:43] point unicate we're not duplicating [21:47] we're not forgetting things even with [21:49] working pairs uh and the ad hoc I still [21:53] feel somewhat Shackled of you can't just [21:55] come together and go let's have meeting [21:59] and talk about it and I'll take this and we this needs to be [22:03] done by this date and you you get a [22:06] float theun how do we communicate [22:10] because and and it's where I'm GNA add [22:13] on is can we get can we work on [22:17] assumption that the council will approve [22:20] and we are and today we go I'll work on [22:22] this working [22:25] group so let's get the working plan done [22:28] for somebody the work plan and so that [22:31] date is final so I I would say um you [22:35] can have [22:37] some basic but we would want to hold on [22:40] to making decisions until the work plan [22:43] is [22:44] final um in regards to the communication [22:48] mechanism the intent of the working pair [22:51] is that you can meet whether it's a [22:54] single person or um a two people uh [22:57] hence the title working pair you can [23:00] meet as needed to achieve that specific [23:03] task that you've been assigned now in [23:06] regards to getting information back to [23:08] maybe the ad hoc committee that should [23:11] be done through the commission liaison [23:13] myself so it it wouldn't because again [23:17] then it's we get into a little bit of a [23:19] wonkiness where you have the working [23:22] pair and if there's then the ad hoc [23:25] subcommittee which is three that's uh [23:29] that's a a virtual meeting well let's [23:32] not forget what she's trying to ask [23:34] she's trying to get ahead of the game a [23:36] little bit I think that's a good thing [23:39] if we can we can start working me with [23:42] the assumption that the work plan is [23:44] going to get approved that's not a big [23:46] leap of Fai so from that point of view [23:50] why do we start the process of getting [23:53] at least the agenda the vision the [23:56] objective of the the the Health Group [23:58] identified and possibly the pairs that [24:01] are going to work within that uh [24:04] framework identified and kept on keep on [24:07] going because between now and September [24:09] is not that much time because we have to [24:11] get hold of vendors we have to identify [24:13] what what needs to be done should we bring in speakers etc etc it's [24:19] quite a bit of work to be done and given [24:21] the fact that we don't meet that [24:22] often you know just as creating as many [24:26] meeting as possible is a good thing so [24:29] anyway are we are we allowed to have [24:31] zoom meetings can we can we Zoom between [24:34] the subcommittee and the working [24:37] pair so to that question so the again [24:41] your working pair you can meet as needed [24:44] to work on the task the ad hoc committee [24:47] the ad hoc subcommittee can meet as [24:49] needed so whether that's in person or [24:51] Zoom completely up to the ad hoc [24:55] subcommittee but the working pairs in [24:57] the ad talk subcommittee should not be [25:00] meeting because again that's a quorum [25:02] and that should be a full commission [25:04] meeting so there is and that I think was [25:07] part of what uh uh Vice chair Olen was [25:10] trying to get at is what is that [25:12] mechanism for [25:13] communication between those two and so [25:16] working through the staff liaison would [25:19] probably be the best in that fashion but [25:22] then obviously during our regular [25:25] meetings I I guess I I don't want the [25:27] commission to to be afraid that you're [25:29] only held held to those reg obviously we [25:33] have our regular meetings which is once [25:34] a month if it is determined needed that [25:38] we need to do a special meeting we [25:40] absolutely can um staff will be here to [25:43] support um doing these larger scale [25:47] events um but we have the opportunity it [25:53] to meet as needed if that comes up um [25:58] there is time before September [26:01] potentially October for the um events [26:04] that the commission is looking to host [26:07] and so the first part would be to make [26:10] sure we get through the approval of the [26:12] work plan and then maybe really to [26:15] Target so the ad hoc committees it might [26:18] be good to schedule a meeting um leading [26:21] into march to maybe Identify some of [26:24] those working pairs that you might want [26:26] to task the commission with potentially [26:30] signing up for um but we can staff can [26:34] assist in helping working through that [26:35] as sub committee can the subcommittee [26:38] meet [26:40] before yes you can you absolutely can [26:44] you can have multiple meetings if you [26:48] want [26:50] yep so you can do that pre-planning in [26:53] preparation for March with the hope that [26:56] the work plan is approved at the end of [26:59] uh February [27:03] sure thank you for clarifying yes so [27:07] first things is somebody going to start [27:09] a motion to approve this [27:11] plan I move we approve the work plan I [27:17] approve all in favor say I I [27:24] opposing motion carries [27:31] make that edit though about adding [27:33] October correct I will add those not [27:35] correct based upon [27:41] yes um can we can we ask the question [27:45] here uh does anybody have any thoughts [27:48] on what topics we want to cover or what [27:52] kinds of speakers we want to get so that [27:55] we can start working pairs [27:59] so I'm going to add in um I'm part of a [28:03] group that we're meeting coming up in [28:07] February [28:08] 18th and they're talking about starting [28:12] a and I need to talk to you afterwards [28:16] because this would be great for adult 50 [28:18] plus but a speaker series for seniors in [28:22] addition to what you're doing so that it [28:26] is with with rotary the there's also a [28:30] group forever [28:32] active that we have a member dnie herd [28:36] who has access to a number of seers and [28:39] then we have our community service [28:42] director who also has access and so that [28:45] will [28:46] be um a good resource for potential [28:51] speakers want early knowledge of going [28:54] ahead with making arrangements is that [28:56] what you're saying it's but I think we [28:58] also have to figure out what is it what [29:01] is the goal for divisions of labor who is who is our target market for are [29:08] we going to have different speakers for [29:10] different age groups what is the goal [29:12] for the health fair who are we trying to [29:15] reach are we going to set it up where [29:18] we're going for a certain particular age [29:22] or what are the topics that we feel [29:25] would be best benefited to [29:28] I think that gets decided in the first [29:30] meeting so we have let's have the first [29:32] meeting we [29:34] meet sub meeting yeah will determine the [29:39] answers to your question yeah exactly [29:42] the only the [29:44] health but the sub commmittee meeting [29:46] will only be three [29:49] people yes so so let's let's four names [29:55] yeah four no three names is one person [30:00] yeah well that's what I was asking you [30:03] can do it now with assumption [30:05] that so maybe we can get a unofficial [30:10] nod yes or no from somebody sitting in [30:12] the room [30:15] of in we can just talk right now about [30:19] what [30:21] top so um the only so the specific topic [30:26] that we have is the work plan and this [30:28] is going to get a little bit nuanced too [30:30] we want to get the we want to get the [30:33] work plan [30:34] finalized but in regards to your [30:36] question commissioner Dixit it's not a [30:39] um we would want to make sure that we [30:42] agendize the discussion of the health [30:44] there if we want to discuss those [30:46] specific pieces but I think what um [30:50] commissioner buckolz was indicating is [30:52] that the the sub the ad hoc subcommittee [30:55] should meet first and and once we get [30:59] the approval of the work plan for the [31:01] meeting in March there can be then a [31:04] full didn't we just get the that [31:06] approval from the council from Council [31:09] so the commission has approved the work [31:12] plan that they would like to [31:14] submit um and so the part I'm trying to [31:17] go towards is commissioner [31:19] Dixit once we get approval the workr [31:22] plan from Council at the end of February [31:26] we can then plan to agend I a larger [31:29] discussion once the subcommittee the ad [31:31] hoc subcommittee for the health fair has [31:33] had a chance to discuss suggestions for [31:37] purpose pieces that they would like to [31:40] see it can come back to the full [31:42] commission for um suggestions discussion [31:46] for further consideration but that the [31:50] discussion of the health fair is not a [31:53] specific agenda topic today it was [31:56] specific to the workpl [31:59] may we ask people to send emails to us [32:03] the [32:04] speak [32:07] no it's hard to see each other so I [32:10] think I was you mentioned the previous [32:13] Health that there was a lot of [32:15] information available from it where is [32:18] that information that say I wanted to [32:20] read it [32:22] just so all of that information staff [32:25] has all of that information and as uh [32:29] was mentioned previously we will be able [32:31] to provide all of those contacts for the [32:34] vendors that were um present at the [32:39] October meeting or October event [32:45] I I had a section for speakers we didn't [32:48] have speakers whatever they did I was [32:51] just curious and who were the vendors [32:54] what type of [32:55] vendors she'll be able to give that to you once it's been approved right [33:01] correct do [33:03] it oh no absolutely that information can [33:06] be shared with the um with the ad hoc [33:21] subcommittee that that information can [33:23] be provided [33:28] we're all going to be essentially [33:29] working on this [33:31] whether we can share it with the full [33:34] commission that's not a [33:35] problem but it would be uh and I guess [33:38] it would depend on um obviously the the [33:42] ad hoc subcommittee can utilize that [33:44] information and then it could [33:46] potentially be expanded upon um [33:48] depending if the ad hoc committee takes [33:50] that on or if an a working pair is [33:52] assigned to to work on that as well [33:55] too I guess my request for today was [33:59] steming from the fact that if the ad hoc [34:01] committee meets at any time before our [34:03] next full commission meeting we who are [34:07] not part of that ad hoc committee will [34:08] not have our chance to say our wonderful [34:12] suggestions that they should have [34:15] because we think we have wonderful [34:16] suggestions so if the adop committee [34:19] meets without those suggestions [34:20] potentially those aspects won't get [34:23] covered and that's why I wanted to run [34:27] ahead and talk about it now but I [34:30] understand those are rules so no and [34:33] again that can be agendized for March so [34:36] that um again the ad hoc committee can [34:39] make recommendations but the commission [34:41] at that point when it's agend uh [34:44] potentially for March you would be able [34:46] to share that information at that time [34:48] too she mustn't do it before the [34:50] subcommittee meets I know this is [34:52] sounding a lot like the the stuff that's [34:55] going on in our federal government [34:59] seriously it's not quite that bad can we [35:02] talk about what we want this thing to be [35:05] and just say we want to have these kind [35:07] of vendors we want to have these kind of [35:10] topics there is wisdom at the other end [35:13] of the [35:16] take suggestion I don't know if it's okay or not but would it be okay if [35:22] we communicated through email if they [35:25] individually s not as the group [35:28] individually send emails to the three of [35:31] us that are on the ad hoc committee with [35:33] their ideas what people would like to do [35:36] what they you know so it's not [35:39] interactive they have to go through you [35:42] be better and I I I know it [35:46] feels limiting in that sense but at the [35:50] Crux of it is to make sure that it's a [35:53] transparent process for the public to be [35:55] a part of it and I think that's the the big part of it is that when it's [36:02] these individual emails or meetings or [36:05] it is not agendized or put on an agenda [36:09] so that the public knows that they can [36:11] then be a part of that conversation [36:13] either through public comment or be part [36:16] of that discussion that's the part that [36:18] we're trying to make sure is achieved [36:21] that it is an open process I know [36:24] initially and I think that's why I want [36:26] to elay the commission's fears that I [36:29] know we are in February but I think [36:33] process-wise we will have ample time to [36:36] have that discussion and we'll we'll [36:40] start those basic pieces but again we [36:43] want to make sure that the work plan is [36:46] approved first you can do some basic [36:49] planning with the assumption that the council will be good with these [36:55] um pieces that you're putting forward in [36:57] the work work plan and all of those [36:59] discussions can happen at the March [37:02] meeting it just means that the ad hoc [37:04] committees that have been assigned [37:06] should do some work this month so that [37:10] come March you can make some [37:12] recommendations for what those what [37:15] support you might need through working [37:18] pairs or Commissioners that are not part [37:22] of the ad hoc subcommittees you can then [37:25] make recommendations like I would love [37:27] to be a part of selecting vendors or [37:30] coming up with topics I'm just using the [37:32] healthare because that seems to be the [37:34] topic of most interest at this point but [37:37] then you can make um suggestions of I'm [37:40] really passionate about this and would [37:42] love to assist with this specific can [37:45] send that to [37:48] you okay yes and that can be in [37:50] preparation for March once all of these [37:54] pieces fall into place [37:57] will you will you insert that in the [37:59] agenda packet for March the suggestions [38:01] that you get from Individual emails to [38:03] you will we know absolutely if there are suggestions or reports and [38:11] um us as staff usually reach out ahead [38:14] of the um putting the packet together to [38:17] see if there are any reports by the [38:19] subcommittee so that can be included as [38:22] well to make sure that the discussion in [38:25] March is is as pointed as it can be do [38:30] we need to agenda that formally for [38:34] March on on fut agenda yes page two of [38:39] the agenda it's on [38:41] now I'm [38:45] here did you want [38:47] say so Jim are you on the committee oh [38:52] yes I am what what what was what's the [38:56] question when their next meeting with [38:58] the that I guess this came up last in [39:01] the last meeting I think the idea was [39:04] the subcommittee would be not fully [39:07] empowered to run this this threat but is [39:11] empowered to come up with ideas that we [39:14] can then bring to commission and discuss [39:16] it as a commission so the first meeting [39:18] of sub subcommittee ought to be done as [39:21] soon as possible in order to have [39:23] something to discuss with the full [39:24] commission in J in March so if that is [39:27] the case then um what we what we [39:30] expecting to happen hopefully is within [39:33] the next week or [39:34] so the members sub [39:38] committee can you wait for a [39:41] second members of subcommittee in [39:43] addition to an staff member get together [39:46] and go through the objective setting the [39:49] agendas what what we do and more or less [39:51] get to a point where we have we are at a [39:54] pretty good first base to bring it to [39:56] the commission [39:57] in March so I think the B is in your [40:00] court to get us together [40:03] right yes we can be CH okay thank you I [40:07] just say an obvious thing it's called [40:08] the health fair so I'm assuming all the [40:11] topics should be related somehow with [40:15] help well I have a topic that you'll [40:17] never think of and that's I think we [40:19] should do something on AI and help [40:23] because that's the thing that everybody [40:26] is interested in right [40:31] now we had a terrific lecture after the [40:35] lunch AI for seniors it was amazing it [40:37] was great so you know it so yeah an [40:41] example just email I'm doing that at my [40:45] senior place on AI not that talk but [40:49] another talk on AI [40:52] very di the help and that draws people [40:55] it would be amazed some many people came [40:58] to the AI for seniors it wasn't a place [41:01] to [41:03] sit okay any other comments I'm just [41:06] wondering if Sally might have any [41:09] comments or thoughts regarding [41:10] healthcare what what you might know [41:15] of from your input from being on the [41:19] council and talking to people and maybe [41:22] questions that might come up because if [41:24] we're in the planning stage additional [41:26] input would be [41:29] appreciated I'm in a caveat anything I [41:32] ever say with this commission is my [41:34] input and what you're ideally going to [41:37] get is Council input um so I can make [41:41] recommendations but I don't speak for [41:43] the council per [41:46] se so I didn't attend that healthare I I [41:50] didn't um for whatever reason I didn't [41:54] actually I knew it was going on but not [41:56] kind of till the last minute so I hadn't [41:58] if it's not in my calendar it doesn't [42:00] exist right um so I I don't feel I can [42:04] really give you uh great input but I [42:08] know it's certainly a topic that [42:11] everyone's interested in I imagine that [42:14] Council would be interested one thing [42:16] when you do talk about your work plan [42:18] and the health fair appears to be a big [42:20] part of that is and you talk about [42:24] Council approving work plans it's not [42:26] been and we've gotten into trouble with [42:28] this including recently it's not been [42:32] explicit in many cases we have a nice [42:35] conversation thank you this was great [42:38] and then we don't necessarily approve it [42:43] explicitly and so if I were the chair [42:46] assuming you can be there um Jane I [42:50] would [42:51] say if we don't ask it because I'm very [42:54] attuned to it now a lot of commissions [42:56] walk out and think their plan is [42:58] approved and but we don't go through a [43:00] formal process so I would be willing to [43:03] ask if if for example myself being [43:06] sensitized don't [43:07] say Council you want to find out council [43:11] do you approve this work [43:13] plan because there are examples where [43:16] Council said oh you need to prioritize [43:19] there's too much in here and then that [43:21] Loof is never closed and then the [43:24] commission we we so if we don't have ask [43:27] you first or state first please do ask [43:31] because it's important and then because [43:34] we can go back and watch that video and [43:35] say Council explicitly approved this [43:37] work [43:39] plan so I I would do that that's just [43:42] you know from experience and if the [43:45] health care um if the [43:48] healthare is a big part of it then [43:51] identify that say here's our biggest [43:53] project for the year here's some other [43:56] things we're going to be doing you know [43:57] partnering this doing these events [43:59] whatever so just really make it um spell [44:02] it out clear and and how important [44:05] because I think the council will not [44:08] have no problem now I'm speaking for [44:09] myself projecting to the council but [44:12] they should probably we should probably [44:13] have no problems um with what you put [44:17] together but Clarity is often lacking [44:20] after these meetings so there's my tip [44:27] yeah yeah thank you so much [44:32] sample put it on the agenda please for [44:35] March that we will be talking about this [44:37] after your [44:38] subcommittee it's not on the agenda yet [44:41] for March let's see somebody do the [44:45] formal [44:46] things move that we [44:49] discuss so that it is currently planned [44:52] and also too we can uh we can make sure [44:56] that the next meeting in March um when [44:59] we have that discussion at the end for [45:01] future agenda topics that we make sure [45:03] to hit that as [45:06] well [45:15] yes we [45:16] good is there anything else about the [45:18] work [45:25] plan I [45:28] um I met with staff and Jamie and [45:33] discussing [45:34] [Music] [45:37] um has seized the benefit of um social [45:43] activity for seniors and support the uh [45:48] Halloween fling and initially supporting [45:52] the [45:53] springling um and so we talked about [45:58] what Club 55 would be in charge of and [46:01] then also what the city would be in [46:03] charge of um it does need to get [46:07] approved in June but it's [46:11] where it [46:13] filling our action plan and Community it [46:17] seems to be totally in line and so I'm [46:20] meeting with [46:22] public5 on Wednesday and getting more [46:26] information because it's it's um working [46:29] with them and um getting more details [46:33] and so so may I ask what Club 55 [46:39] does sure the Club 55 originated back in [46:44] 2011 after the first action plan that [46:48] was approved by [46:52] um by the city it was when they talked [46:56] with senior seniors basically wanted a [46:59] time and a place to get together and [47:00] just chat sit and have a beer or [47:03] whatever so they would they started [47:05] meeting behind the costume bank and you [47:09] bring you bring a bottle of wine to [47:11] shares and they themselves were [47:14] supporting it with with some food and so [47:17] it just became a regular thing monthly [47:21] and it became the community of [47:27] so it has [47:30] um been it has worked with the Community [47:35] Foundation they work greatly with the [47:37] city and the city supports it and now [47:41] they are holding the once a month from [47:43] April through October the third Friday [47:47] uh here and so the city has been a great [47:52] help um and so the thought is just to [47:56] bring back the Spring Fling was the [47:59] whole purpose where City also backed it [48:03] back then back in [48:07] 2000 2018 so and that was put on by the [48:10] senior commission so the senior [48:13] commission has been lowkey for a while [48:17] and it's another way to bring the [48:21] community together so I if I understand [48:24] senior commission would help with Club [48:27] 55 hosting from April through October [48:30] once a month no not alone no just the [48:34] senior commission is helping with the [48:35] Halloween fling and and then if that [48:40] goes well the Spring Fling in 20125 and [48:44] then we'll see where it goes from there [48:47] but 26 excuse me uh and so it's a way of [48:52] supporting the community and building [48:54] the community those [48:58] W so October will be very active [49:02] for [49:04] why the discussion of moving the health [49:06] fair having it in September because then [49:09] we have something in October and so that [49:13] way you can spread the wealth ofor [49:15] commission if you want to be healthy or [49:18] have [49:21] fun yeah can you say when is the [49:25] Halloween f October [49:29] 17th the third Friday it's in [49:32] conjunction with first [49:36] the first first Friday I'm getting that [49:39] third Friday third Friday yeah 55 to [49:43] Friday of the [49:51] month there a history with Club 55 with [49:55] the city would [49:57] um adult 50 plus and so [50:02] just yeah it was it was one of the um [50:06] agenda items on the P for this week it's [50:09] agenda item number three there's a [50:11] summary about it so take a key because [50:14] it gives you a little bit more [50:15] information that might [50:20] help so those are the two main things I [50:24] three because of the sprinkling too but [50:26] is there anything else that we need [50:29] to discuss just for [50:33] clarification one of the things that [50:36] will be presented at the Joint council [50:39] meeting will be a presentation from the [50:43] adhoc committee on the health [50:50] s so uh so quick so quick question um or [50:55] it have we moved to item three or are we [51:00] still [51:01] [Music] [51:03] on we have so um the the and that I'll [51:07] be able to answer your question um [51:10] commissioner Buck Hol so um item three [51:14] is specifically to prepare for your [51:17] joint meeting with city council um so [51:20] there is um a number of commissions that [51:24] will be presenting between six and 7 [51:27] p.m. on Tuesday February 25th that is [51:31] the second meeting for city council this [51:34] month um essentially each commission [51:38] will have between 10 to I would say [51:42] maybe at the highest maybe 15 minutes um [51:45] and within that time frame there are two [51:50] recommended areas is first to talk about [51:53] what was accomplished in the last term [51:57] and so in your packet I did include the [52:00] last work plan which included all of the [52:03] items um that were completed and then a [52:07] conversation of the current work plan so [52:11] because of the condensed time [52:15] frame I I think we want to and that's [52:18] part of where the commission would need [52:20] to determine is maybe what who's going [52:24] to say what who is going to to cover [52:27] what so that there are some specific [52:29] time frames so that we can stay within [52:32] that 10 to 10 to 15 minutes that have [52:35] been allotted for each commission during [52:38] that time frame so I if there is an [52:42] interest from the commission to do a [52:44] focus on the healthare you can determine [52:48] that um but my point is that you have a [52:52] finite time and you want to make sure [52:55] you cover what was accomplished where [52:58] you would like to go and those um as uh [53:02] Council me member Meadows highlighted if [53:05] there is something specific like [53:07] approving the work plan or if there is a [53:11] really important piece you want to get [53:13] across if it is the health fair or the [53:15] collaboration with Club [53:17] 55 this is the time to kind of identify [53:21] who is and what points would be brought [53:23] up during that uh conversation or [53:26] discuss [53:28] so I with that I will turn that back [53:30] over [53:31] to to attend the [53:38] [Music] [53:39] meeting Tuesday February 25th at 6 [53:45] PM they moved it up because that wasn't [53:48] going to be enough time for all the [53:49] people but anyway okay so we need a [53:52] structure so we usually go first senior [53:54] commission usually goes first so we're [53:55] hoping for that that and um so the [53:59] structure would be [54:02] um thank you all thank you so much for [54:05] inviting us to this um what we want to [54:08] do first is review things that we've [54:09] completed over the last year and the [54:12] main thing that we've completed is the [54:15] age friendly uh project with the action [54:18] plan I mean that was Major Beyond major [54:21] and um we did have a consultant but [54:23] there was tons of work that we did and [54:26] we're going forward with the action plan [54:28] it's not really one the work plan yet [54:31] some of this stuff is drawn from it but [54:34] anyway so that that's the that's the [54:36] historical what we've completed already [54:39] does anybody else have anything else [54:40] that they think should be covered under [54:43] that a previous healthare [55:02] but it was at [55:07] thei no actually [55:12] um anything [55:14] else context for [55:17] our emphasis on another house [55:20] there because we are continuing this [55:23] that's that's going to be on our work [55:25] plan going forward so that second part [55:28] two part one is the historical what [55:30] we've done so far and [55:34] health [55:36] heal was part of our [55:39] history the age friendly project with [55:42] developing of the action plan and and [55:45] the previous health fair those are the [55:46] two also what else wanted to add that [55:50] you know when we were working on the age [55:52] Trend plan um we had a chance to [55:55] interview [55:57] several of the groups that meet here [55:59] during the senior commission or the [56:01] adult 50 plus and some of the topics [56:04] that uh we they suggested including uh [56:09] having speakers for the health care so [56:12] that is also part of the history that [56:13] we've already done and we're progressing [56:15] towards [56:18] okay but adding the speaker idea with [56:21] Topic in addition to the exhib [56:29] anything else okay so then going forward [56:33] we're going to be looking at the newest [56:35] work plan going the one we have active [56:38] now and the two major things are the [56:41] healthare and the Club 55 project those [56:45] two [56:52] things so um on the age friendly does [56:57] anyone want to discuss [57:00] that I I'll take that one okay I'll take [57:04] that one and then what about can someone [57:07] describe the the U previous health [57:10] fair who ATT I did did was I the only [57:15] one you got two [57:17] chances but I can't oh you can't [57:21] be okay um [57:26] okay so so then I was the only one okay [57:29] well pencil me in but you know I don't [57:32] want to bore them to tears with my voice [57:34] anyway and then adding the speaker you [57:38] GNA be there who is g to be there raise [57:40] your hand you GNA be there three [57:45] people [57:47] okay okay so um bill can you talk about [57:51] that adding the speakers on to the [57:53] healthcare part yes okay [57:58] so how much time do we have the whole [58:00] thing is 15 minutes so it's like three [58:02] minutes two minutes you know four and [58:04] they might have questions to in between [58:07] sometimes we pause so we have to that [58:10] too contrary to the popular Bel I can be [58:16] tur well you can be brief without being [58:19] tur so I know you [58:22] okay let's not alienate the council um [58:26] okay so then going [58:28] forward the health there going forward [58:31] anyone talk about [58:35] that bill okay and then the Club [58:38] 55 Chris you're not going to be there so [58:41] who else no one knows about it then I [58:42] guess well we're working together okay [58:44] so can you up can you get up can you [58:46] read the hand out and then maybe talk to [58:48] Chris a little bit and let her she'll [58:50] give maybe you can give some bullet [58:51] points that's all we need to have bullet [58:53] points so we can make the points that we [58:55] want [58:56] make when you say presentation inste [58:59] like a PowerPoint no it's [59:03] not have the written thing in front of [59:05] them the work plan and they sit like [59:08] that part and then we come up when they [59:11] call us we come up and we have chairs [59:14] right this is the way it was before we [59:16] have chairs right before them and [59:19] there's a little there's more distance [59:20] it's a wider table so you're not right [59:22] on top of them and then um they welcome [59:25] us and then I've done it before in [59:27] another commission okay good kept saying [59:29] bullet point so I thinking just power [59:34] just so that we don't go you know on and [59:36] on now we don't need we don't need a [59:37] power point so just to be keep yourself [59:42] concise because it's going to get [59:44] expanded somehow anyway and then they're [59:46] going to ask [59:48] questions okay so let's see so the [59:51] healthare so the club okay so you'll be [59:53] doing [59:54] the5 okay thank you so much which is [59:56] fine know me thank [59:58] you okay so Bill Health there Bill [1:00:03] speakers and I'll do age friendly and [1:00:05] the previous [1:00:07] healthare we we get that in in the [1:00:09] minutes we going to get that I don't [1:00:11] understand prev because what is that I [1:00:14] mean it can just be a mention doesn't [1:00:16] have to go into detail we're just [1:00:18] following on the but we're just trying [1:00:20] to get the main things that we [1:00:22] accomplish yeah just like one one [1:00:24] sentence and move on [1:00:28] agenda [1:00:30] Itor you want to remember the third item [1:00:33] which is the ask explicitly for approval [1:00:35] of the work plan yeah at the end at the [1:00:38] end yeah just a [1:00:42] remind requesting approval of [1:00:51] our thank you [1:00:58] anything else I think [1:01:01] that's that's so that's that's very good [1:01:04] thank you so much everybody for doing [1:01:06] that and if you free up your time you're [1:01:08] welcome to [1:01:09] come okay so let's see what else we have [1:01:13] on our agenda [1:01:20] here okay [1:01:23] so so that's that's three so we're [1:01:26] moving on to informational items so we [1:01:29] have some flyers to show yes so I will [1:01:33] do um a few so we have our um Family [1:01:37] Fund day series which is [1:01:39] continuing um the last one during the [1:01:42] holidays was despite the rain um we had [1:01:45] it was quite busy and we had um probably [1:01:49] at least 5 to 600 um individuals come so [1:01:54] um we have uh Saturdays in February [1:01:57] April and June um February 22nd is [1:02:01] around the world themed um and so that's [1:02:05] uh open um the community center will be [1:02:07] open from 10: to 1: for families and [1:02:10] those that want to participate here at [1:02:12] the community center um and then we have [1:02:15] our open house on March 1st um which is [1:02:20] from 11: to 1:30 again here at the [1:02:22] community center it will highlight a [1:02:25] variety of activities and you could meet [1:02:27] some of our um instructors um in [1:02:30] addition to uh some of our uh Community [1:02:34] organizations um as well so uh that will [1:02:38] be um March [1:02:40] 1st and then um before I turn it over to [1:02:44] uh Chris um I will also highlight that [1:02:48] we are still hiring for a number of [1:02:51] part-time positions um in Recreation we [1:02:54] always plan well in advance so we're [1:02:58] getting ready to hire our summer camp [1:03:01] leaders and directors um June for us is [1:03:05] just around the corner um so if you know [1:03:08] anyone that might be interested um in a [1:03:12] summer position with us we are obviously [1:03:14] still hiring for our adult 50 plus and [1:03:17] pickle ball um programs as well uh so if [1:03:22] you have anyone that is interested [1:03:24] please feel free to forward the the [1:03:26] flyer on um Just for information with [1:03:29] that I will turn it over to Chris to [1:03:31] highlight some specifics for our um [1:03:34] balos adult 50 plus program yeah I [1:03:38] submitted three flyers for in your [1:03:39] packets from the adult 50 plus program [1:03:42] the first flyer is the uh we're [1:03:44] supporting the ARP tax Aid prep uh [1:03:48] beginning today through mid [1:03:50] April um these are appointment based tax [1:03:54] AIDS consultations to help with filing [1:03:56] taxes um designed for those age 50 plus [1:03:59] and those are held in this room on [1:04:00] Mondays By [1:04:03] Appointment uh see if I go question who [1:04:06] are the people that are going to be [1:04:08] helping the folks that come in for yes [1:04:11] so we as staff we're host we're doing [1:04:13] the logistics of securing the room and [1:04:15] doing the processing the appointments [1:04:17] but the actual oneon-one tax Aid are a [1:04:21] ARP certified tax AIDS okay thank you [1:04:25] that's good [1:04:27] uh next up is the adult 50 plus we have [1:04:30] a mini trip coming up to Stanford [1:04:32] University this is uh March 20th we'll [1:04:35] be going uh into the Hoover Tower um the [1:04:39] nearby art exhibits and exploring some [1:04:42] of the famous sculptures and works of [1:04:45] Arts nearby in Stanford and that [1:04:48] transportation's included [1:04:55] at Bridge Point and something at least [1:04:59] 50% of the people use some kind of a [1:05:02] walker roller thing whether or not [1:05:05] that's possible or is it not set up for [1:05:09] that yes I we can certainly we do try to [1:05:13] include what uh moderate terrain this [1:05:16] one includes moderate terrain and [1:05:18] walking will be [1:05:19] involved um we can provide more details [1:05:23] about being able to on exit and embark [1:05:26] things like [1:05:27] [Music] [1:05:28] stairs they can walk and then the ground [1:05:32] has to [1:05:36] be yeah exactly all of our staff can [1:05:39] speak more about the um I guess the [1:05:43] ambulatory Mobility requirements for [1:05:46] each trip which can vary can vary G and [1:05:49] singles [1:05:52] story yeah but the rest of you're going [1:05:54] to do the s [1:05:56] the to is going to be a [1:05:59] challenge there's no [1:06:02] elev an elevator yeah that's [1:06:06] okay and on that very same topic [1:06:09] National walking [1:06:11] day so in that one it's designed for a [1:06:14] variety of paces and stamina and we'll [1:06:17] have a walking we want to encourage you [1:06:20] know act activity on this walking day [1:06:23] National walking day is April 2nd and [1:06:25] this program will be down at our our [1:06:27] Grant Park [1:06:28] facility and these will these will be [1:06:30] posted and promoted in our adult 50 plus [1:06:33] program rooms as well will be [1:06:35] highlighted in our our bro program [1:06:37] brochure that's available at all times [1:06:39] online and in the in the program room is [1:06:42] that up toate the [1:06:44] program yes it is this was just updated [1:06:48] uh January 20 seconds so this one's [1:06:50] current I'll make sure you have [1:06:52] it what this um the National walking day [1:06:56] involves Grand Park you walk around [1:07:00] Grant Park yes so we have a couple of [1:07:03] different volunteer leaders who are [1:07:04] going to be hosting different walks [1:07:06] different speeds um um you know Walkers [1:07:11] wheelchairs we're going to have a very [1:07:13] accessible looping path so so we're not [1:07:15] going to go across the town we'll just [1:07:17] stay we'll have a loop so you'll never [1:07:19] be more than away from water and [1:07:21] restrooms for some of the moderate and [1:07:24] to Advanced Walkers we have have some [1:07:25] different Loops available inside of [1:07:28] Grand Park the whole time no we plan to [1:07:31] have uh some guides down to the city [1:07:35] streets it'll be all flat walk yes I'm [1:07:38] going to encourage everyone although I [1:07:40] don't want to do it [1:07:41] but I [1:07:43] just um and then with that um we do have [1:07:48] um Amina uh from Los Altos Hills um and [1:07:52] she can share the information on the [1:07:54] Flyers specifically to Hill hello [1:07:58] everyone so um what you have in front of [1:08:00] you is the drive-thru shred event flyer [1:08:04] um this is actually exclusive only to [1:08:06] lasos Hills residents um but if you are [1:08:09] a resident feel free to come to town [1:08:11] hall on March 22nd from 8:00 a.m. to [1:08:14] 11:00 a.m. um we will have a big uh [1:08:19] truck that shreds documents there and [1:08:21] one big difference this time around is [1:08:23] that you're allowed to bring up to 15 [1:08:26] boxes where in the past um you were only [1:08:28] allowed to bring five so that's a huge [1:08:31] increase but um we figured there's there [1:08:33] tends to be a lot of space in the truck [1:08:35] left over so we decided to increase it [1:08:38] this [1:08:41] year thank [1:08:45] you that that is available to residents [1:08:49] of losos [1:08:51] as no it is specific to Los Altos Hills [1:08:54] residents and I know there has been um [1:08:58] some individuals have expressed an [1:09:00] interest in having um the city of Los [1:09:02] Altos host something so that is [1:09:04] something that we can take a look at but [1:09:06] the one that um Amina mentioned is [1:09:10] specific to [1:09:15] Los all [1:09:19] right [1:09:21] okay that is it any any questions on um [1:09:26] any of the event information that we've [1:09:29] shared [1:09:32] okay to um future agenda items oh we [1:09:37] have um [1:09:39] stock just one um and it is just to [1:09:42] share that we have um our spring summer [1:09:46] activity guide um winter is in full [1:09:48] swing that actually covers activities [1:09:51] and events through March that as I [1:09:53] mentioned rep parks and rep PL and well [1:09:55] in advance so our spring and summer [1:09:58] activity guide will actually be [1:10:01] available um in print and will be mailed [1:10:04] out to all of all residents this time [1:10:07] around um it will actually come out [1:10:12] um February 18th that's the Tuesday [1:10:15] after the President's Day holiday so it [1:10:18] will be available here at the center and [1:10:20] will be um it will get to the post [1:10:23] office and should be out that following [1:10:26] week um registration for residents will [1:10:29] open March 3rd and then for all others [1:10:32] um the following Monday March 10th so [1:10:35] just wanted to highlight that that will [1:10:36] be coming out soon so you will see that [1:10:40] um in your mailbox coming up soon that's [1:10:43] my only other additional update just [1:10:45] make an observation uh very nice [1:10:47] observation in the winter guide the [1:10:51] front page had a little lady who hails [1:10:54] from India [1:10:56] and she comes to play yeah exactly and [1:11:00] uh many of us know her but in her Indian [1:11:03] sori attire not playing games with other [1:11:06] people that kind of thing but it has [1:11:08] generated such a positive response to [1:11:10] see her there and it was you know [1:11:13] unbeknownst to her that somebody took a [1:11:15] picture now a lot of people want to [1:11:17] participate and come out and so I think [1:11:20] it's very positive very positive thday [1:11:23] morning th [1:11:26] wonderful to hear thank you Center in [1:11:29] that picture it's so [1:11:31] cute okay thank you okay any other oral [1:11:34] anything else we good okay then we're [1:11:37] moving on [1:11:39] to sub committee reports I don't think [1:11:41] we have any we already kind of discussed [1:11:44] that okay let's move on to Future gender [1:11:46] items the work plan is still on the [1:11:49] health fair will be on and um do we need [1:11:53] a b cling on for next time [1:11:56] too it's okay is there anything else [1:12:00] that we have to um put on for March go [1:12:03] ahead I know that [1:12:08] the healthare is going to have [1:12:11] speakers you [1:12:14] know I have a strong feeling that it [1:12:18] will [1:12:19] include go [1:12:22] ahead is there a way of t [1:12:26] multiple sources of speakers we talked [1:12:29] about having the speaker [1:12:32] series uh and this would [1:12:34] be basically from my network of Health [1:12:39] Care [1:12:40] people [1:12:42] um is this something that we would want [1:12:47] to have is this ongoing service to the [1:12:52] community [1:12:55] that we would have a speaker [1:12:57] series well there's speakers already [1:13:00] once a month in conjunction with the [1:13:03] lunch but at the community center um [1:13:06] there are speakers at various other [1:13:09] venues like [1:13:11] aanas they have an AI talk also um [1:13:16] there's other outfits that I want to [1:13:20] have speakers on different topics so I'm [1:13:23] not sure if you're say the was [1:13:25] sponsoring that the question is should [1:13:29] we have a [1:13:33] non-competing speaker series maybe a [1:13:36] couple times a [1:13:38] month so it's it's outside of the [1:13:41] boundaries of the healthare it's a new [1:13:43] topic you're talking about so that would [1:13:45] be so would you like to add that on to [1:13:46] the Future agenda items a speaker series [1:13:49] that be very nice so it sounds like and [1:13:52] we have at least three Commissioners [1:13:54] that are interested an agenda [1:13:59] okay anybody [1:14:02] else I would say that would be something [1:14:05] to work closely with Chris on because he [1:14:08] has the speakers currently and it would [1:14:11] be potentially an [1:14:14] ad not [1:14:16] necessarily uh buting H right know and [1:14:21] what we could do um Logistics wise is [1:14:25] the commission could have a discussion [1:14:28] on recommend uh recommendations for [1:14:31] different topics and then that could be [1:14:34] forwarded to City staff um to take into [1:14:37] consideration as they're programming [1:14:39] those a variety of things because as um [1:14:43] Vice chair olon mentioned uh we do um a [1:14:47] handful and if there are recommendations [1:14:49] by the commission to maybe increase [1:14:51] frequency or the types or topics um that [1:14:55] could be part of the [1:14:57] discussion thinking [1:15:02] frequency we're gonna talk about because [1:15:05] things are changing pretty fast yes [1:15:10] sure just as the last thing Sally we' [1:15:13] like to welcome you again to join our [1:15:15] convention we so excited and we're [1:15:17] really happy that you chose us that's [1:15:19] wonderful and we're wondering if you [1:15:22] might have any suggestions at this point [1:15:24] or we know your first meeting [1:15:27] and but we'll see you at the at the [1:15:29] Joint meeting yeah that's what I was [1:15:31] going to say I think if you we'll just [1:15:34] see how that goes and I'm sure it'll be [1:15:36] fine and I don't have any suggestions [1:15:40] yet and you adopted your work plan so [1:15:43] you have to be you know that's the [1:15:46] guiding post asuming gets [1:15:51] approved you okay [1:15:55] thank you all for [1:16:00] [Music] [1:16:04] coming I have to go
