[1:05] the Jefferson Park shelter awesome looks
great everything with Jefferson Park is
[1:10] going just amazingly and I'm not biased
at all not being on the parkboard it's
[1:15] fine but I do want to use this time to
illustrate the importance of City staff
[1:21] and department heads in conjunction with
the common
[1:26] Council I
think early in another meeting we were
[1:31] talking about maybe what may or may not
have gone wrong with Water
[1:35] Street compared to let's say Jefferson
Park where every single step was
[1:41] monitored and looked at and analyzed and
gone to a meeting then another meeting
[1:45] then another meeting and then if a
softball Diamond got rotated it was a
[1:49] weekend phone call and then it was
another meeting so I'm saying I think
[1:54] there might be a happy middle ground
between the two where some things can be
[2:01] delegated fairly successfully because
common Council has what 14ish committees
[2:07] TW 13 12 committees that they have to
have their fingers in at all times you
[2:12] have to keep that information in your
heads at all times and that's a lot no I
[2:18] don't expect any human to be able to
keep all details of all projects in
[2:22] their heads at all
times that being said I watched the same
[2:26] questions get asked four different times
in the last meeting
[2:30] it's a lot of information to hold and
delegation is important to City staff
[2:35] and they're doing tremendous jobs again
incredibly biased towards Parks but I
[2:40] think director sacket is doing a great
job and I think it's really really
[2:45] important that like when you decide what
responsibilities to take on what comes
[2:51] to committee what goes to police chief
what goes to coun
[2:55] council can that reasonably be managed
at all time can you honestly say you can
[3:00] dedicate as much time as you dedicated
to the Jefferson Park project as all
[3:05] other things can you have those separate
meetings can you be able to do that and
[3:10] I'm not criticizing at all I think
everything's going pretty dang well I'm
[3:14] just saying when you are delegating task
keep in mind that that is more on your
[3:19] plates more on City staff plate where do
you want to have to have meetings that
[3:26] go until you know it's pushing 8:30
some of us have been here a while some
[3:32] of us have you know haven't left or gone
home
[3:35] yet are you able to handle that and
again it's just food for thought because
[3:41] it's a lot of things and I want to make
sure as a citizen that everyone is
[3:46] performing at their best that things
aren't going to slip through the cracks
[3:50] that things aren't going to be forgotten
which again is human it's just
[3:55] mitigating how much is forgotten and how
much is slipped through but overall I
[4:01] think it's going good it's just
something to keep in mind moving forward
[4:05] and I think the Jefferson part of the
reason Jefferson Park is going
[4:08] incredibly well is because there was a
level of attention to detail and
[4:12] discussion and all that stuff that
was that made it go like every decision
[4:18] was pretty much discussed to death by
either City staff or and then brought to
[4:24] Common Council many many many many times
you've heard me several times coming up
[4:28] here being like hey this is why we
should approve this or this is why we
[4:33] should go ahead with that so I'm just
thinking there's a middle ground between
[4:39] the two and that's all I got thank
you so basically what we just would like
[4:47] to see is better
[4:51] communication so moving forward we have
uh minutes to approve uh for the Board
[4:58] of Public Works I would entertain a
motion Alderman repella uh thank you

[6:21] Jefferson Park shelter and we're going
to add a total of

196 uh to the
[6:30] uh charge and this is charge change
order number one sir

this is an addition of
[6:42] $969
196 and um I will have the
[6:48] director uh explain to the community
what the change order is for sure thank
[6:53] you for the opportunity um in your
packet it outlines the different changes
[6:57] really it boils down to about three
different changes and this is in regards
[7:01] to the new Pavilion so you if you've
been out to Jefferson Park recently
[7:04] you've seen that they've started
mobilizing around that site for the new
[7:08] Pavilion on the East End of the park so
as we've gone through some of the
[7:13] specifications um that were outlined and
that our contractor brought forth there
[7:16] are some uh changes that we're looking
one of them is on kind of some of the
[7:21] interior walls it was noted to just have
plywood we're looking to put in um
[7:26] they're called t111 panel so more of
just a kind of a textured planel just
[7:29] versus plain plywood that's where it
added some of that additional cost in
[7:34] labor and painting so you see a minimal
change there um you see a deduction of
[7:39] concrete polishing we want it to match
um the epoxy floor that we put in the
[7:45] existing Pavilion if you would go into
the existing Pavilion in the renovated
[7:49] kitchen it has an epoxy floor we wanted
it to match that in the specification
[7:54] had just a concrete polishing which was
not our preference and then um that had
[7:59] noted that the cores did not match the
cores that we have in some of our
[8:03] existing facilities so the why you see
the change of the $2,800 for the cores
[8:08] on some of the locks regarding the doors
so really just matching some of our uh
[8:13] specifications and standards that we
wanted throughout our facilities is what
[8:17] this change is you will see another
change order coming um in the future
[8:21] when I talk about that epoxy floor
they'll be getting us that price um to
[8:25] add that epoxy flooring in so you will
see a future change order so BAS
[8:29] basically what the director has
indicated is that we've actually
[8:32] deducted about 8,000 from here made some
changes and the
[8:37] change um is an add then of just
[8:42] $969 so they're improvements basically
to this
[8:48] facility any questions from the
