decision has been made or will be made

worked with the assistant city managers

reassignment for Mr. Perez. I share the
[3:48] same sentiments as Mr. Sheets, but got
to be honest with you. I get a lot of
[3:52] calls and this is not political, but
nobody believes you guys. Nobody
[3:57] believes that Mike Bettis is being
reassigned because he wants to be
[4:00] reassigned or because the future of the
city has changed. You're talking about a
[4:04] guy that's been here the better part of
17 months, balance y'all's budget. Some
[4:11] people are saying that you guys are the
ones that need to go. Mike Bettis needs
[4:13] to stay.
$2.2 million in the coffer for the city.
[4:19] I mean, if we get rid of this guy,
what's going to happen? Are we going to
[4:22] go right back to where we were before?
Nobody believes it. And let me tell you
[4:26] what I hear out there, and this is not
me. This is what we hear. You guys are
[4:29] talking about the Tur. You guys are
talking about crazy things like the loop
[4:34] and going out for money grabs and giving
engineers a bunch of money. And I know
[4:40] some of these guys those dates, those
studies, those engineering fees and
[4:46] those reports will be outdated in the
next 15 to 25 years. Doesn't make any
[4:51] sense. You guys have had multiple
certificates of obligation where you
[4:56] spent tomorrow's money. Yeah. Uh you've
committed adorum taxes in the future.
[5:03] U and a lot of people don't know that
because you don't need to take it to the
[5:06] public out there. Even though there is
legislation that's going to keep you
[5:09] guys from raising taxes by more than 1%.
It's got to stop
[5:14] the This is not completely all my idea.
I'm just telling you how the people out
[5:18] there feel. I'm trying to leave politics
out of it. And I think that one of the
[5:23] best things you all ever did was bring
Mike Pettis in. Uh he's an honest guy.
[5:29] Um he's going to keep the city straight.
Your charter mandates that it be run by
[5:35] the city manager and not individ
individually by you guys. You all need
[5:40] to keep a hands-off approach and let him
do what he needs to do. I have a friend
[5:44] of mine that called me yesterday. I gave
him advice two years ago and he didn't
[5:50] believe me and yesterday he called me
because he had uh uh someone knock on
[5:56] his door. I'm telling you that what you
guys are doing when it comes to that
[6:00] stuff, whatever you guys talk about,
it's going to get somebody into trouble.
[6:04] I've seen it before. I've got that
intuition. I can sense it and I don't
[6:07] wish it on anybody. And I wish you all

[6:12] know, Mike Bettis needs to stay as city
manager if he wants it. You all really
[6:17] re need to reconsider what you're doing
