[9:34] Motion passed. [9:38] Uh, correspondence. [9:40] >> Okay, um Council will notice that I gave [9:43] you all a copy of the agenda for my IIMC [9:46] conference that I attended last week. [9:49] IIMC advised clerk treasurers to give [9:52] Council [9:53] a detailed report about our classes [9:57] >> [clears throat] [9:57] >> uh because of issues and not in this [9:59] town but in other areas in the state. [10:02] Uh [10:03] So, if you did read through then you'll [10:05] notice I had a very busy schedule. I had [10:07] class on Sunday for 2 and 1/2 hours. I [10:11] was in class all day on Monday until [10:14] from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30. [10:16] 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. to [10:18] 5:30 Wednesday. And then the classes [10:21] ended Thursday afternoon. So, it was a [10:23] very exhausting week, but I also learned [10:26] quite a bit. And these classes do help [10:29] me [10:30] learn how to serve the town more [10:31] efficiently and how to run the office [10:34] more efficiently. [10:35] >> May I say something on that? I did read [10:37] that and I know it's quite a bit, but [10:40] it's very informative and I think all [10:42] Council should read it to see what [10:45] schooling she is getting schooled for. [10:48] And it it is very informative. [10:51] >> So, I since I have my [10:53] IIMC certification [10:56] uh and I have enough credits right now [10:58] to get my certified municipal clerk [11:00] certification, but the International [11:04] Institute of Municipal Clerks requires [11:06] you to be a member for 2 years. [11:08] So, I just have to wait until the fall, [11:11] which will be my 2 years and I can get [11:12] my CMC and then I can work on my Master [11:15] Municipal Clerk certification after [11:17] that. [11:19] Uh so, these these classes are very [11:22] helpful. [11:23] And uh the next item of business is uh [11:27] after speaking with the Town Council and [11:30] reviewing [11:32] uh [11:33] the documents from First Financial, uh [11:36] it is they can better serve us as a town [11:39] and the water department. [11:42] I am asking at this time that the town [11:45] council approve [11:48] the town of New Chicago and New Chicago [11:50] Water Works [11:52] to change banks and to bank with First [11:56] Financial and to leave Centier. [11:58] >> I'll make that motion to approve [12:01] switching over to First Financial. [12:02] >> Do we have a second? [12:03] >> I'll second. [12:05] >> Motion made. All in favor? [12:06] >> Aye. [12:07] >> Any opposed? Motion carried. [12:09] >> And then I do have one more thing that [12:11] was not on the correspondence and that [12:14] is because [12:15] it just happened yesterday and today, [12:17] but as you all know, I have been working [12:20] with Sunder Dalton per State Board of [12:22] Accounts request for the previous bank [12:25] wrecks in previous years [12:27] going back to 2019. [12:29] I was with Andrew from Sunder Dalton all [12:31] day yesterday until 5:00 p.m. [12:34] going through several documents and [12:37] transactions [12:38] back to 2019. [12:40] And I was on the phone with them today [12:43] for 2 and 1/2 hours before this meeting. [12:45] So, we are at the point where [12:49] I can [12:50] finish the bank wrecks in one day for [12:52] 2025, which will probably be one day [12:55] next week now. We can move forward with [12:57] that. [12:59] Uh and everything that State Board of [13:01] Accounts has asked for uh from 2019 [13:06] to 2023, [13:08] 20 has been fixed. [13:10] >> Okay. [13:11] >> Good job. [13:12] >> Thank you. It's been a lot. [13:14] >> [laughter] [13:17] » And that's all I have. [13:21] » Ordinance. [19:15] >> Lloyd, with the ordinance um [19:17] >> So, they get paid when they [19:19] Lloyd [19:20] >> When they go to court [19:23] And the thing about it is if you don't [19:25] come down and pay it, then it goes from [19:27] 100 to [19:29] 130 to [19:30] >> Yeah, but it just should be paid at the [19:31] county, not here. [19:33] But then it it it reverts back into our [19:35] general fund. [19:36] >> Yes. [19:36] >> Okay. [19:50] >> the court [19:50] >> I'm I'm I'm opposed to that, Lloyd, and [19:53] you know why? Because we had problems [19:55] before with that. That's why everything [19:57] went to county and I think it should [19:59] stay there. [20:00] >> It just costs people $140 [20:02] 40 more dollars. [20:02] >> Well, you know, it [20:04] >> And then the judge will throw it out. [20:06] >> Yeah, whatever. [20:07] >> But no, not at [20:10] >> In some cases, maybe. [20:12] >> But you know [20:13] >> But uh [20:15] But yeah, I says, you know, I says, I'm [20:17] glad it's you know, it's being paid at [20:19] the county, not here, because we just [20:21] talked about this before. [20:22] Big time. And it cost us down quite a [20:24] bit of money. [20:27] Okay, and then 20 Ordinance 2026-08, [20:30] this is an introduction to this [20:32] ordinance. This ordinance will be [20:34] advertised before the next meeting [20:36] before it is adopted. [20:38] Senator Dalton sent this to me last [20:40] minute. [21:07] Nobody [21:07] >> been charging this. It's going to be [21:09] retro [21:11] >> Uh [21:13] So [21:14] They told me I just I had to introduce [21:16] it. [21:17] Uh tonight and then I have to advertise [21:20] it after the meeting tonight and then in [21:23] April the town council can pass it. [21:26] Yes. These cases represent a [22:52] significant public safety intervention [22:54] and align with our continued efforts to [22:55] disrupt the movement and sale of illegal [22:57] narcotics and unlawful weapons within [22:59] our town. [23:01] Uh [23:03] Ordinance enforcement and property [23:04] compliance. [23:06] Uh concerns have been raised about 65 [23:08] McKinley and 411 Washington. [23:12] Uh multiple accumulation of trash [23:14] citations were issued and several [23:16] illegally parked vehicles were [23:17] impounded. Both properties have [23:19] demonstrated measurable improvement in [23:21] yard condition and overall compliance. [23:24] Uh fleet status on vehicles, car number [23:26] six has been out of service for [23:28] approximately 1 month due to engine [23:30] issues and now reportedly has been [23:32] repaired and is back in circulation. Car [23:34] number one had to be returned to the [23:37] shop for a water pump pump replacement. [23:40] And I believe it is back in circulation [23:42] also. [23:43] Uh [23:44] We've upgraded the Wi-Fi units they [23:47] carry in the cars. It allows them to [23:50] connect to the internet and do their [23:52] business. Those were That was done at no [23:54] cost to the town or the police [23:55] department. He just got them to upgrade [23:57] the cameras. [23:59] Uh we're investigating a new evidence [24:01] management system [24:03] and we're just going to kind of go [24:05] through and take a look at that and then [24:06] once they've ascertained whether they [24:07] want to use that, then they'll move [24:09] forward in some way or another after [24:10] they've gone through that. [24:12] Um [24:14] the Flock cameras [24:17] They've been You might have noticed that [24:18] some of the Flock cameras have been [24:19] moved and we've added some. [24:23] Uh they've moved the cameras so that [24:26] they catch people [24:28] with violating license plates [24:31] more towards the edge of town so that if [24:34] the police are circulating in the middle [24:35] of town, they they have more time to get [24:37] to them [24:38] before they leave the the town region. [24:41] So, that's why those cameras were [24:43] changed and they added one. [24:45] Uh [24:47] Trying to see where it is. [24:49] Um [24:50] Liverpool and DeKalb. No. [24:54] One One them the the trailer park is [24:56] covering the cost of them. So, none of [24:58] this really is additional cost to the [24:59] town. [25:01] Uh [25:04] Operations summary, no cap. [25:10] That was it. Okay, I have a question [25:12] for you. Ask me a question. [25:15] » What did you say the custodian arrest? [25:17] What is that? [25:18] >> Custody arrest. [25:20] >> What? [25:20] >> Meaning they take them into custody or [25:22] they take them to the police [25:22] >> thought you said custodian. [25:24] >> No, I [25:25] >> No, we're not we're not arresting [25:26] custodians in particular. That would be [25:28] profiling and we do not profile here. [25:31] >> [laughter] [25:31] >> But I didn't know what you what you [25:34] >> I It's just what it says on the paper. [25:36] Custodial arrests where they're taking [25:39] people into custody. [25:40] >> Okay. [25:43] » Fire [25:47] Good evening. [25:49] Um [25:50] as of today for the year we've had 60 [25:54] calls for emergency service. [25:58] Um [26:00] I have three new firemen on the uh on the [26:05] department. [26:07] Uh they all three have their required [26:10] state certifications [26:12] to be on the department. [26:14] So, the only thing they had to do is go [26:17] through a 24-hour [26:19] um refresher class [26:23] with our our equipment, how we do how we [26:25] operate, how we do things and everything [26:27] else like that. So, [26:29] um [26:31] We have a recruitment drive going on [26:33] right now trying to recruit other [26:35] firemen. [26:37] Um [26:41] And with this uh last few months with [26:43] this weather being the way it has, [26:45] whether it be freezing cold, snow, and [26:47] whatever, I I think the New Chicago [26:50] firemen for answering these calls in [26:52] this dog on in [26:53] weather. I mean, it was it was pretty [26:56] tough at times, but [26:58] we had suffered through it. So, [27:00] uh [27:01] once again, thank the council for your [27:03] support. And uh that's all I have. [27:06] Thank you. You're welcome. [27:08] >> Town manager? [27:09] >> Um we have an election coming up May [27:12] 5th. Joe, I need the fire department. [27:14] >> For what? [27:16] >> An election coming up May 5th. [27:19] I need the fire department. [27:22] So, [27:22] >> Where are we going to put the [27:24] truck? [27:24] >> Well, I guess we're going to try to get [27:26] the doors open on the old town hall and [27:28] put them in there. [27:31] So, anybody can [27:34] help uh I [27:37] >> I got I got a question for you real [27:39] quick. [27:40] When when is the [27:41] Or maybe it'll come up under the park. [27:44] I want to know when the uh [27:45] >> Easter egg hunt is. [27:46] >> taking the Easter bunny down to the park [27:48] and whatever that that [27:49] >> That that'll come up under the parks. [27:52] >> [laughter] [27:52] >> All right. [27:53] >> Okay. So, we have a meeting with um [27:57] May 20th. It's not an official meeting. [28:00] The bids are coming in hopefully for the [28:02] building on the 20th um between 1:00 and [28:05] 1:30. So, and then we got something [28:09] else. [28:10] >> 30th. [28:11] >> The 30th, we have our software. [28:14] So, to try to teach us how to use that. [28:19] >> I don't know. [28:20] >> 10:30 12:00 [28:22] >> I don't remember. [28:23] >> Chad wanted to have the meeting when you [28:25] sent them down by me. He wanted to have [28:26] the meeting down there, but he needs [28:29] internet and all that other stuff in [28:32] the bunker, which is the public works [28:34] building, [28:35] is sporadic at best with internet. So, [28:40] it's going to be have to [28:42] be at the school. Were you there? And [28:45] [clears throat] [28:45] >> But we need you there. [28:47] Obviously you don't. [28:50] And [28:52] I mean that's just what it is. [28:53] >> have to come afterwards and talk to you. [28:55] >> He said he said he said he anything [28:58] that needs to be discussed as far as [29:01] that me and him talk [29:02] about all that and I told him exactly [29:05] what I just said right now that [29:08] put you in the loop and anything that he [29:10] needs to deal with me with as far as [29:13] meters, with district storage of [29:16] equipment or anything else like that me [29:19] and him will work together with. [29:20] >> So Diane's supposed to be coming in, [29:22] knock on wood Jesse's going to be okay, [29:25] to do the software so to see how we're [29:28] going to upgrade it. So it's it's going [29:32] to be a mess for a while. [29:34] So but anyway that's what's going on. So [29:37] if you want to come in and learn how to [29:38] do the software you guys are more than [29:40] welcome to. [29:42] So [29:42] >> Joe, you going to be there with the [29:43] software? [29:44] >> Which software is it? [29:44] >> So I need permission to use the fire [29:47] station for election. [29:48] >> Outside of my realm Jimmy. [29:50] >> Okay. [29:53] » [laughter] [29:54] >> What's the software for? [29:56] >> Radio reads. [29:58] >> For the radio for the radio reads. Okay. [30:01] >> I need a motion to allow me to use the [30:03] fire station for election day. [30:05] >> I'll make that motion. [30:07] >> Motion made need a second. [30:09] >> [snorts] [30:09] >> I'll second. [30:11] >> All in favor say I. [30:12] >> I. [30:13] >> Any opposed? [30:15] >> I need a clean [30:17] >> [laughter] [30:19] >> May 5th, Cinco de Mayo. [30:21] >> Tuesday May [30:24] >> Um that's all I have right now. [30:29] » Park board thanks sir. [30:31] >> All right park board [30:33] I don't know if anybody drove past [30:34] Clunette's park today but you should [30:36] notice a large amount of mulch [30:38] that was delivered today. [30:40] Um so we are moving forward with these [30:44] uh spending of the CDBG grant that we [30:45] got uh [30:47] a couple years ago now. [30:49] Um, [30:50] part of that being the mulch, uh which [30:52] was delivered today. They're going to [30:53] finish that tomorrow. [30:55] Um, they're going to be starting the [30:57] installation of some of the playground [30:59] equipment that we ordered uh later was [31:01] it later this week, Tony? [31:02] >> Later this week, if the weather does [31:04] what it's supposed to do, they'll be [31:05] doing it later this week. [31:07] >> Um, [31:08] and then uh we do have [31:12] I would say I I have stuff going on [31:14] pretty much every weekend right now. So, [31:16] this weekend here at Ross the Boss we do [31:19] have the art, craft, and authors fair [31:22] that's being put on by the parks [31:23] department. [31:25] Uh that is March 21st from 10:00 to [31:27] 4:00. [31:29] Uh [31:30] March 28th is when we're doing the park [31:33] clean up [31:34] over at Twin Oaks Park to get it ready [31:36] for [31:38] uh the Easter egg hunt. [31:40] And then the Easter egg hunt will be [31:42] April 4th [31:44] uh [31:44] at 10:00 a.m. [31:46] Joe, please do not blow the horn before [31:49] 10:00 a.m. and try and get me killed [31:50] this year like you did last year. [31:53] >> [laughter] [31:54] >> Standing in the middle of pack of [31:55] piranhas when you blew that horn last [31:57] year. [31:59] >> [laughter] [32:00] >> Um, so, what uh [32:03] what time you guys are going to bring [32:04] the Easter bunnies out? About 9:00 or [32:07] something like that? [32:08] So, people can get pictures [32:10] Yeah. [32:11] >> She'll be there at 9:00. [32:13] >> Okay. [32:15] Um, [32:17] and that is pretty much it for the parks [32:20] board. Uh we didn't didn't have an [32:22] official meeting this month. The uh Ross [32:24] the Boss was used, so [32:26] we had to postpone our meeting for next [32:28] month. [32:30] Um, [32:31] which I do I did talk with [32:34] uh Fred Williams. I'm going to give him [32:37] the list of all of our meeting dates [32:39] again [32:40] because they never got put into their [32:42] calendar, which is why [32:45] the [32:46] uh this [32:47] the hall got double-booked the night of [32:50] our Parks Board meeting. So, [32:52] I am going to give him a list of [32:55] you know, I'm just I'm still going to I [32:56] know we may not need this room for the [32:58] full year still, but I'm still going to [33:00] give him, you know, through December. [33:03] Just [33:04] so we're covered. [33:06] >> Yeah. [33:07] >> So, [33:08] um outside of that, that's all I have [33:10] for Parks Board. [33:13] >> Planning Commission um [33:16] for Planning Commission tonight, we did [33:17] have [33:18] Mr. There he is over here, Mr. Gula. [33:21] Uh we did approve him for building two [33:24] duplexes at 129 McKinley. [33:28] Um [33:29] John went through the uh [33:32] ordinances and [33:34] we did find that in the ordinances, the [33:37] maximum size you can have is a duplex. [33:40] So, [33:41] he is building two duplexes there, two [33:44] separate units. [33:47] Um [33:48] he does have enough space. Um [33:51] he did provide us the plan and showed us [33:53] the plans and everything, showed us [33:54] John. [33:55] Uh [33:57] he does have enough space to put in the [33:58] four septic tanks that would be [33:59] required. [34:01] Um [34:03] so, with John's guidance and, you know, [34:07] uh confirm confirming with the lawyer [34:09] that everything met ordinance standards, [34:12] uh [34:13] the Planning Commission did approve him [34:16] to build. So, we're seeking the [34:18] council's approval to [34:21] uh go ahead and [34:23] >> We We need a motion [34:25] to approve this. [34:26] We need a motion to approve for him to [34:28] build [34:29] the building. Duplex, did you say that? [34:32] >> the building two buildings [34:33] >> He's building two buildings, that's [34:34] right. [34:35] Oh. [34:36] Yeah, and then [34:37] he didn't speak to Robert on the MS 4 [34:40] side of things and also water [34:42] put in four separate pits, water meter [34:45] pits. [34:46] And make sure [34:48] Yeah, it'll be [34:50] One building will have two units, the [34:52] other building will have two units. [34:54] And MS [34:54] >> [clears throat] [34:54] >> 4 separate connections we have. Yeah. [34:58] They they complied with [35:00] according to what we wanted them to [35:02] He started and he brought in some nice [35:05] set of plans showing exactly how this [35:07] was going to happen. [35:09] So, we need a motion to approve that. [35:11] >> I'll make that motion. [35:12] >> Motion made. Second? [35:14] >> I'll second. [35:15] >> Second. All in favor say aye. [35:17] >> Aye. [35:17] >> Any opposed? Motion [35:21] >> Good job, Skula. [35:22] >> Thank you, sir. [35:24] >> And the second person we had on the [35:26] agenda for tonight [35:28] was Mr. Patel from Southern Elephants. [35:31] They were looking to open a laundromat. [35:34] They did not bring any information with [35:36] them, so we did not approve at this [35:38] time. [35:40] Uh and [35:41] >> Their apartment they got rented out to [35:43] >> No, [35:44] the building that the other part of the [35:46] building that they own that they rent out the I think it was [35:50] like [35:50] >> In the back of that in the in the back? [35:53] >> Yeah, the one that's pink right now. [35:55] >> Yeah. [35:56] the one that's painted [35:57] >> There's a portion in the back of that. [35:59] >> Mhm. [36:00] >> Well, and that's that's the thing is [36:01] we're not going to approve that. [36:02] >> There's not enough for something like [36:04] that. [36:04] >> Well, and like I said, they didn't bring [36:06] plans, they didn't bring anything. [36:10] So, [36:11] Yeah, well, we told them [36:13] they need to they need to have plans [36:16] created by an architect or engineer [36:18] because this isn't like a house where [36:19] you're just going to hook up, you know, [36:21] a little gas line and a little water [36:23] line for the washer. This is [36:26] you [36:26] >> know, that's going to be a lot of water, [36:28] a lot of gas, a lot of electric. [36:30] And we requested that once they do have [36:33] those drawings [36:35] to give us, you know, a couple weeks of [36:37] notice at least. [36:39] Um so that we can make sure that Lou is [36:42] at our planning commission meeting, [36:44] Robert is there [36:46] um for water, you know, Lou's there for [36:48] electric, John is there for building. [36:51] You know, we want [36:52] >> Everything that needs to [36:53] >> Everyone is there. But, you know, that [36:56] way Lou can speak to it as far as, you [36:58] know, is that the right electric [37:02] paneling, you know, is that the right [37:04] wiring that is shown on the plans. So. [37:08] >> Okay. [37:10] >> But, that was it for planning commission [37:12] and then [37:13] I'll just have one other thing under [37:15] other business later on. So. [37:17] >> Okay. [37:17] >> Sewer. [37:21] >> Thank you. Let me give you the sewer. [37:23] >> I thought we started with water. [37:25] See what I know. How many of you [37:27] All right, sewer. [37:29] >> I'm going down the list. [37:30] >> I said [37:31] » [clears throat] [37:31] >> I spoke to Mickey Anderson today. Bypass [37:34] system for lift stations have been [37:36] tentatively scheduled for next week, [37:38] weather permitting, [37:40] for installation. [37:43] And the lift station on Van Buren [37:46] was out due to the power outage, but the [37:51] lift station on Harrison compensated for [37:54] it and kept all levels [37:57] at a safe [37:58] level, so there was no raw sewage or [38:00] anything spilling out. And I checked it [38:02] numerous times during the day and [38:04] numerous emergency calls that were [38:08] addressed. [38:09] And [38:11] everything worked out fine. That's why [38:13] we're putting this bypass system in, so [38:16] as power outages come, we can directly [38:18] force pump it down the line. [38:30] Roadways as quickly as possible and to [38:32] keep all traffic flowing. [38:34] I would also like to thank [38:36] the Hobart Streets Department [38:39] as well as Lake Station for their help [38:41] in the use of their four-ways and their [38:44] stop signs that they helped you let us [38:46] use and put out. [38:48] I got people. [38:50] So, [38:52] I just want to [38:53] >> Um [38:53] >> Yes. [38:54] >> We need to order some more stop signs [38:58] and so we don't have to keep borrowing. [39:01] >> Correct. [39:02] >> Yeah, the guys the guys can make them. [39:05] Maybe we order the signs, they can make [39:07] the stands. [39:07] >> Right. Right. But we have to get some [39:09] lumber I'm going to see if we have any [39:11] lumber over in the pole barn where we [39:13] can [39:13] >> there's there's there's all that lumber [39:15] down in the old building [39:17] from in the in the basement in the [39:19] storage room. [39:21] >> On the shelves? [39:22] >> Yeah. [39:23] >> That's That is true. [39:24] >> There's a lot there. [39:25] >> I don't I don't want to get [39:27] shot with a paintball gun or something [39:29] like that if I go in there for training. [39:31] So, [39:31] >> nailed and maybe too hard to get out. [39:34] >> Don't go at midnight. [39:35] >> Yeah, you know, I don't want to get You [39:36] might be training that day and I don't [39:38] want to get shot with a paintball. So, [39:42] you know, I'm not the most [39:44] liked guy around here. [39:46] >> [laughter] [39:48] » Robert, I think that is nailed down [39:50] there. [39:51] >> Right. [39:52] >> sure and I think it's just going to be [39:53] >> I mean, that's a That's a great idea to [39:56] recycle that lumber and reuse it and [39:58] that'll save the town money. I have no [40:00] problem with that. None. I [40:02] >> Those are spikes they've got in those. [40:04] >> The only thing we'll need that we can't [40:06] make is [40:08] the stop signs. We will have to order at [40:11] least four. We need three of them. We [40:13] have one. [40:14] But [40:15] >> Then you get what you [40:16] >> Me and the town manager spoke and we [40:18] could get away with making one for the [40:20] time being because I mean the odds of [40:25] all three of them going out which just [40:27] happened. I don't know. [40:29] Kind of [40:30] you know, they're kind of it's kind of [40:31] rare that it does happen. Two would be [40:34] sufficient and if need be we might [40:37] [clears throat] even have some old stop [40:38] signs [40:40] in the pole barn. I haven't really I've [40:42] been kind of busy the last couple of [40:43] weeks, okay? [laughter] So [40:46] it's just you know, I got to [40:48] get it but they will get done and it [40:51] will be dressed before Josh gets his [40:52] data center up. [40:54] >> Thank [clears throat] you. Sanitation. [40:59] You got anything for garbage? [41:05] » Uh sewers, streets. [41:08] Sanitation. [41:10] >> That's garbage. Now water [41:12] >> Sanitation. [41:13] >> No, because water the [41:15] >> Yeah. [41:16] >> Okay. I didn't [41:18] like to pass these out and I just want [41:21] to [41:22] please share these please cuz I didn't [41:24] have enough copies. I'm sorry. [41:35] » Sure. Yes. Absolutely. [41:43] » There you go. [41:45] And share with you already know what [41:47] this is. [41:49] I'd just like to say that there was a [41:52] This is an ordinance regarding water. [41:57] Okay? [42:00] No one tampers with the water system [42:03] unless they are approved to tamper with [42:05] the water system. Turn on, turn off. [42:07] Okay? [42:09] This last week I was running around I as [42:13] she knows [42:14] the town manager we had to pull a pit [42:17] because if they did just this [42:19] and [42:20] did that. [42:22] And another pit that gets broke. And [42:25] when it gets broke contrary to what [42:27] anyone ever thinks this guy's going to [42:29] get the call to fix it. [42:31] All right, when water's rushing up and [42:33] people are panicking and everything else [42:34] like that I'm going to get over there [42:36] and do it. So please do not touch [42:39] anything with the water without [42:42] approval. [42:44] That's all I'm being nice. I'm just [42:47] going to say it like that. So please [42:49] don't get in your pits, okay? [42:52] Poor Joe got the brunt of it last week. [42:54] >> [laughter] [42:55] >> Tell anybody that they can get in [42:57] >> Right, because everyone it doesn't [42:59] matter [43:02] who you are, who you work for, what you [43:04] do with it. Everybody's held to the same [43:06] standard. [43:07] Okay, cuz usually when this happens [43:11] we go over and we pull the meter [43:14] out of the pit. [43:16] Okay? [43:17] But [43:18] insinuating circumstances didn't allow [43:21] me to do that. So just please [43:27] don't do it. That's all I'm saying. [43:29] Don't do it. [43:31] All right, thank you. [43:32] Yes, sir. Now I will [43:35] All right. [43:36] A new water main project has been [43:37] completed. [43:39] 2-in line was ran servicing the [43:42] uh [43:43] Knob Hill area with approximately I [43:45] think six or seven houses that are fed [43:48] to it and it's up and running. The only [43:51] thing left to do [43:53] is our restoration and that'll be done [43:56] when weather weather allows by H&G [43:58] underground. [44:00] A new hydra was installed on Liverpool [44:02] and Decatur. [44:04] In keeping with the commitment of New [44:06] Chicago standards of continually [44:08] maintaining and upgrading the water [44:10] system to operate at peak performance [44:13] that our customers have grown to expect. [44:16] Several pairs were being done to water [44:18] mains and breaks as well as services [44:22] from unauthorized people tampering with [44:24] them also last week as I just stated [44:27] that we had to go out and literally [44:30] take a whole pit out of the ground. Lake [44:33] Station had to put a stop order of work [44:35] order on a house. [44:36] And then it's just it was a big mess and [44:41] Please. [44:42] All right, all meters and lids have been [44:45] delivered and are on standby for the [44:48] upcoming installation. [44:51] They're all over in the building. Chad [44:53] from Adam Marsh [44:55] came over, took pictures, looked at [44:58] everything [45:00] and [45:01] everything is ready to go. We've talked [45:03] about like I said the staging area. [45:05] They're going to have access [45:08] to the public works building yard. Not [45:11] the public works building, the yard to [45:13] store their trucks because they feel [45:15] more comfortable with it being in a [45:17] locked secured fenced area for their [45:20] equipment and [45:23] it makes perfect sense for us to help [45:25] them because they're helping us. So, we [45:29] already spoke about that and it's [45:31] pretty much an okay. [45:34] Uh [45:35] what else? Uh hmm [45:38] Uh that's just a bypass system. [45:41] That's pretty much it. We had a few [45:42] breaks that we fixed. [45:45] Two H&G had to come out after we fixed [45:47] the one. One literally 20 ft away broke [45:51] and that had to be fixed and all of it [45:53] was mostly [45:55] 4-in and 2-in lines. [45:58] And [46:00] it's not to the point where that needs [46:01] to be replaced or anything else like [46:03] that because this is the first time [46:04] since I've been here that any of those [46:07] lines have broke. So, we're still in [46:10] good working order and like I said, we go out, we try, we flush, we do our [46:15] best to keep everything operational and [46:17] people can wake up in the morning and [46:20] turn their faucet on and expect water to [46:22] come up out of it. [46:23] >> What are we going to do about patching [46:24] them? [46:26] >> Hole patching? [46:26] >> No. Let's patching. Where we had the [46:29] main breaks, are we going to get Chris [46:32] to do that? Are we going to wait for the [46:34] >> I I had it on my desk. I'm I apologize [46:37] for that. I had it out there for the [46:39] last 3 days. I've been meaning to get it [46:41] to you. He put in a bid. I forgot what [46:44] the bid was that you told me that that [46:46] other individual did. [46:47] >> all three of them? [46:48] >> Yes. [46:49] >> Arthur? [46:50] >> All three of them. [46:51] >> And the two on Indiana Street? [46:52] >> Indiana and the one on [46:55] Iowa and [46:57] Arthur. [46:57] >> Okay. [46:58] >> He I forgot what you told me what it [47:00] was, but he gave me a number and then he [47:02] told me whatever the number was that the [47:05] other individual with it [47:07] he would match it to keep [47:10] >> Okay. [47:10] >> a good relationship with Mishawaka. [47:13] >> The reason why he asked, Evan Myers said [47:16] if they were doing our streets and they [47:18] were close to it, maybe they'd just [47:20] swing over there and take care of them. [47:22] >> Right. [47:24] >> Um when's that happening? [47:26] April? [47:29] >> [clears throat] [47:29] >> I mean [47:30] >> They're all filled with number eight and [47:32] speaking of that, I have to [47:35] have the town treasurer give me some [47:36] more number eight. So, [47:38] >> Okay. [47:39] >> So, [47:41] they're all filled with number eight. [47:42] They're solid. They're not going to [47:44] damage anything and now that, you know, [47:46] hopefully knock on wood, the uh snow is [47:48] gone. [47:50] It's [47:51] not going to be We're not going to be [47:53] plowing there in any way. And the ones [47:55] are Indiana, we [clears throat] [47:58] That's Lake stations to deal with. [48:00] But we do help out with them. [48:03] >> I'm not mistaken, the the east side of [48:05] Indiana is ours, right? [48:07] >> It is. And we tore up the road, so we're [48:08] going to repair it. That's why we're [48:09] going to That's why we're fixing both [48:11] spots. But the one on Iowa and Arthur is [48:16] off [48:17] on the apron. [48:18] >> I mean, somebody has driven on it, but [48:20] there's [48:20] >> Exactly. But there's not We keep it [48:22] filled with And instead of wasting our [48:24] number eight because I started to get [48:26] low, and we were using it for brakes, [48:28] I started using millings in there. [48:31] Because we have millings, so again, I'm [48:33] trying to be economically smart with our [48:36] what we have. [48:38] So [48:40] we put millings in there as they get out [48:42] because as you drive through it, you [48:43] know, cars take it down the street with [48:45] them. [48:46] So we have to, you know, keep it where [48:48] it's at least level [48:51] and not creating a hazard. [48:54] >> And I'd like to say, besides everything [48:56] that these guys at the public works [48:58] building do, they're out there every [49:01] week picking up papers, cleaning the [49:03] drains, and that's on a weekly basis. So [49:07] if you see papers, it's because it's [49:08] blown. It's not because they've not [49:10] picked them up. They will get picked up. [49:12] These guys do it every week. [49:15] They're I mean, it's just a given thing. [49:17] >> Well, I was going to tell you [49:18] that it would be counted. [49:20] >> So they don't sit still. [49:23] >> Thank you, Robert. [49:25] You're welcome. Any other questions? [49:26] >> Um I do have something to add. I wanted [49:28] to add uh I forgot to tell the council [49:31] uh CCMG, I received an email from INDOT, [49:35] and our award should be in the bank [49:38] tomorrow. [49:39] >> Yeah. [49:40] >> Good. [49:41] >> That's for the roads, the paving? [49:43] >> Yes. [49:44] >> Okay. [49:45] >> I thought you were going to give me a [49:46] reward. [49:48] >> [laughter] [49:49] >> That's all. [49:50] >> I am. Timmy, let me ask you something. [49:52] Have you [49:53] I mean Robert [49:54] and if you and Timmy with [49:59] Brian [50:00] uh [50:00] >> Yes. [50:01] >> with our money getting returning our [50:03] money. Have either one of you heard [50:04] anything? [50:05] >> As of I heard from Ryan [50:08] yesterday, I believe. [50:09] Uh [50:10] >> Since I'm not going to be [50:11] >> the paperwork [50:13] is done. [50:15] We're waiting for INDOT [50:18] to get approval for the funds to be [50:21] released. [50:23] Because it's sitting on I forgot his [50:24] name. It's on my desk over there, but [50:26] it's already [50:28] our paperwork is done and sitting on the [50:31] man's desk and he's sitting [50:33] all that. [50:35] for the funding. And we're waiting on [50:36] the funding to be released so they can [50:38] start distributing it. [50:39] >> [cough] [50:40] >> And what he said [clears throat] they [50:40] don't send emails to me, they all go to [50:43] Sue. [50:43] >> But I think maybe they will send you a [50:45] check. [50:46] >> They probably will. [50:47] >> And if they do, please let us know. [50:50] Okay. [50:50] >> I will. [50:51] >> Cuz I you know I'm watching it and I [50:52] want to make sure I get that money back. [50:54] >> It's so dear. [50:56] >> Huh? [50:56] Oh no, don't even say that. [laughter] [50:59] >> But that's still on the desk. To answer [51:01] your question, the last I know about it [51:03] on our end as far as the town [51:06] it's on the desk. It's our paperwork is [51:08] done. [51:09] >> Please see it. It is very very nice. [51:13] We just had Lou over there hooking up [51:15] the chargers. [51:16] Your truck. [51:17] >> With Robert. [51:18] >> Yeah. [51:19] >> I wouldn't even like electricity and I [51:21] became electrician. [51:22] >> [laughter] [51:23] >> But you guys need to see the electric [51:25] truck. It is a [51:26] >> Well, all you got to do is walk out in [51:27] the parking lot. It's right out there. [51:29] >> It is so nice. It is so nice. [51:30] >> So about storm water. [51:32] Okay. [51:35] He's doing storm water. [51:36] >> Okay. Go ahead. [51:38] >> Okay. MS4 MS4 updates [51:41] to the MS4 ordinance are forthcoming in [51:43] the near future as to keep in compliance [51:45] with the growing community and item [51:48] regulations. [51:50] As always, teams are sent out to clean [51:53] all storm drains and any debris out in [51:56] the streets on a daily basis. I had [51:59] literally I used a whole [52:02] box of garbage black garbage bags today [52:06] from going from Tyler all around and [52:09] everything else cuz when those winds [52:10] came out [52:11] >> Yes, it was horrible. [52:12] >> It was everywhere and [52:14] >> Garbage was blowing everywhere. [52:16] >> We just we just try to get them between [52:18] me and Gabriel going and doing other [52:21] stuff. So, there's not delaying [52:25] the ladies upstairs doing their job. We [52:27] go and do that [52:29] and I have the other guys out policing [52:31] the town. [52:33] So, that way I mean we can main [52:36] you know, some kind of [52:39] you know, hold on it because if you let [52:41] it go it will get out of get after you [52:43] real quick. [52:43] >> Well, the garbage men were in Brenda was [52:46] there and they apologized because it was [52:48] so windy that day. 60-70 mile an hour [52:51] winds again. [52:52] >> I had bags back in the [52:53] garage and I wasn't paying attention to [52:55] the wind. [52:55] >> I didn't set mine out. [52:57] >> But, they were literally out today like [52:58] I said, a whole box of them and [53:02] I had I had three teams out there. I had [53:04] one guy on one side, one guy on the [53:06] other side and [53:08] starting from both ends to back and [53:11] meeting in the middle. [53:12] >> Good job. You guys did a good job. Thank [53:14] you. [53:14] >> Thank you. [53:15] >> We have any new business? [53:18] Liaison reports? [53:20] >> Nothing. [53:21] Announcements? [53:24] None. [53:25] Any old business come before the [53:27] council? [53:27] >> I I do have a couple things for that. Um [53:31] One, and this is something that I'm [53:33] going to ask [53:35] or ask Danny to be put on the agenda for [53:37] the next month. [53:38] Um Brenda, you and I kind of spoke about [53:40] this the other night. [53:42] Uh [53:43] we are looking at upgrading the email [53:45] system for the town. [53:48] Uh there are a couple of reasons for [53:50] this. One, better security [53:53] for the town. [53:55] Two, [53:57] uh storage space. [54:00] >> [snorts] [54:00] >> Um currently Tammy and [54:04] uh Chief Mayo are both at about 65% of [54:07] their storage. [54:09] Uh for their email. They only have 10 GB [54:12] of storage. [54:14] Now, could some of that be freed up? [54:17] Possibly. [54:19] But I don't know what record retention [54:21] is for the clerk-treasurer's office [54:25] and the police department. [54:27] So, [54:29] you know, to be able to make sure that [54:31] we have enough storage space, you know, [54:34] for these records, [54:36] we're going to be looking at upgrading [54:38] the [54:39] email system. [54:41] Um [54:42] there will be a cost associated with [54:44] that. I am working with the state, with [54:47] IOT, [54:49] uh with actually with their [54:52] not subcontractor, but with the company [54:55] that they have their QPA with, [54:57] uh SHI, [54:59] uh who's the vendor that we would go [55:02] through to do this. [55:04] Um [55:06] I did have a meeting with them this [55:07] afternoon. They're supposed to be [55:09] sending me a quote. So, next month I'll [55:11] have more of a presentation for you. But it's [55:16] just something I wanted to let you guys [55:18] know that it's something that's coming [55:20] down the pike and something that have to [55:24] be done at some point. [55:26] >> Can you use external hard drives, Joe? [55:30] In the In the [55:31] So, I don't know what the law is, but if [55:33] you could download it on external hard [55:34] drives. [55:38] » Can I ask something? I know nothing [55:40] about this kind of stuff but Sue, what [55:42] is it that we [55:44] Dorothy implemented for our files? [55:49] >> What? [55:52] » Um, she we had [55:54] >> have that anymore? [55:55] >> I don't know what she did with it. [55:57] >> Well, you know it's [55:57] >> And then we got hacked, remember? [56:01] UBS drive that [56:02] >> It's called No, and they take all our [56:06] files once it's been audited and they [56:08] come and they get them and they put them [56:10] on that and [56:11] >> It was inner It was Opportunity [56:13] Enterprise that did that. [56:16] >> Is that something with email if that [56:19] >> No, they were probably digitizing old [56:21] paper files. [56:22] >> They were digitizing [56:24] claims and payroll. [56:27] >> Yeah, they were they were taking your [56:28] paper files and [56:30] digitizing them. [56:33] » No. [56:34] >> Separate thing. [56:35] >> No. [56:36] it's not a question. [56:38] Um, but I'm I'm trying to get this done [56:41] as cheaply as possible. [56:44] Right now from what I've found online [56:48] Um, and I I kind of I parsed it out [56:51] between [56:52] police department [56:54] town and parks. [56:57] Um, the parks would be paying about [57:02] roughly 450 a year, I think is what [57:04] parks would be paying for their portion. [57:07] Um [57:09] town was right around 500 a year. [57:13] Um [57:15] and then police was substantially higher [57:17] because they of course had more [57:20] email addresses. Each officer had their [57:22] own [57:23] email address. [57:27] So, [57:28] and I I don't honestly don't remember [57:30] the number right off the top of to say [57:31] it was around 1200 [57:35] a year. I could be [57:37] off on that number though. [57:39] Um [57:41] So, but what this would actually give us [57:44] is each from the meeting I had today, [57:48] each account would have 30 GB [57:51] of storage, but it's also a pooled [57:54] storage. [57:55] So, [57:57] say, you know, [58:00] um [58:01] one of the police officers, you know, [58:03] one of the reserve officers isn't [58:05] well, using that much storage space cuz [58:07] he only works, you know, couple days a [58:10] month, [58:11] well, if Tammy needs extra storage [58:13] space, some of his storage space can go [58:16] to her. So, it can be [58:18] >> No, man. [58:18] >> it can be shared. [58:19] >> Okay, it can be moved so nobody can get [58:22] into her stuff. [58:23] >> Right. [58:24] Yeah. Yeah, no, yeah, no one will be [58:25] able to get into her stuff. It's just [58:26] I'm saying that the the space itself, [58:30] like can be chunked out to her. [58:32] So, [58:34] um [58:34] >> I can't say joy. I know. [58:35] >> I know. [58:36] >> [laughter] [58:37] >> So, there I will like I said, next month [58:39] I'll have more of a [58:41] presentation for you once they send me [58:42] all the details. I just wanted to kind [58:45] of [58:46] get that in your guys' mind [58:48] for now. [58:49] Um the other thing I have [58:52] um [58:54] as you guys all know, I do road [58:55] construction inspection. [58:57] >> The what? [58:57] >> You all know I do road construction [58:59] inspection. It's my main job. [59:00] >> Yeah. Yeah. [59:01] >> And [clears throat] this is my busy [59:02] season. [59:03] >> Yeah. [59:04] >> I'm also going to be working in Argos [59:06] starting in May. [59:08] >> You're going I'm sorry. [59:09] >> Argos. [59:11] US 31 south of Plymouth. [59:13] >> Now, is that in Argos? [59:15] >> Beautiful Argos, Indiana. [59:17] Um [59:18] >> I think it is in Argos. [59:19] >> Yeah. [59:20] >> All the way to Knox or past Knox? [59:22] >> Uh [59:24] it's both. [59:25] >> Just past [59:26] >> Past past. [59:27] >> Yeah, it's past Knox. Knox is on 35. [59:30] So, I'm going to even further down [59:32] [clears throat] south. [59:33] Wow. [59:34] >> Yeah. [59:35] So, time Time zone change. [59:37] >> Also, what? [59:38] >> Yay. [59:40] Anyway, [59:41] um [59:42] I would like [59:44] for [59:45] a volunteer from the council or from [59:48] somebody, [59:50] you know, from the town [59:52] to meet with me [59:54] so that I can show them how to set up [59:56] this lovely little system that we use. [1:00:00] That way, cuz there may be a time where [1:00:02] I don't make it here [1:00:05] due to work. [1:00:06] >> What? [1:00:06] >> So, [1:00:08] >> Well, [1:00:09] I I see somebody. [1:00:11] >> [laughter] [1:00:12] >> I I think you just got volunteered, [1:00:13] Tony. [1:00:14] >> I I think I got volun-told. Uh yeah. [1:00:17] >> I didn't say a word. [1:00:18] >> [laughter] [1:00:20] >> So, all right. So, yeah. I'll I will [1:00:23] write up instructions on how to [1:00:26] set up the Setting it up is easy. So, [1:00:30] >> You you willing to do that sometime? [1:00:31] >> We'll figure it out. [1:00:32] >> I think [1:00:33] >> So, we did contact [1:00:35] um [1:00:36] Mervan's office [1:00:38] about a upgrade for the technology for [1:00:41] the police department. The parks put in [1:00:44] for two grants. One was a no. [1:00:47] Liz called me. So, anyway, this is for [1:00:51] 2027, [1:00:53] but Earl and Golfing got the grant [1:00:55] together, submitted it to Liz, and Joe [1:00:59] or Morgan, whoever did the grant for the [1:01:01] parks. So, um [1:01:03] the [1:01:04] we have that. Don't know if we'll get [1:01:06] any money or not, but you can't get any [1:01:08] money if you don't do a grant. So, [1:01:11] anyway, we've got that done. So, we're [1:01:13] just knocking on wood. Liz did call me [1:01:16] and asked me for some more information. [1:01:19] I'm hoping to get something for that [1:01:20] building over there so it doesn't cost [1:01:23] you guys a million dollars to do [1:01:25] upgrades so for technology. [1:01:28] So. [1:01:32] » Lloyd Hubbs. [1:01:33] >> Okay. [1:01:33] >> Thank you. [1:01:34] Open forum. [1:01:36] >> He owns the property at 104 Lincoln and [1:01:38] is interested in buying the lot next to [1:01:40] it. [1:01:41] >> I forgot you. I'm sorry. [1:01:43] >> Thanks, Sue. I appreciate that. [1:01:44] >> I'm sorry. [1:01:46] >> [laughter] [1:01:46] >> Um [1:01:46] >> I'm here to remind you. [1:01:47] >> Thank you. [1:01:49] So, far um that is the um [1:01:52] >> Can you go to Connie? [1:01:54] >> We own it. [1:01:55] >> No. Oh, we own it? [1:01:56] >> We own it. We used to make Robert Mowat. [1:01:59] >> 104 Lincoln. [1:02:00] >> Yes. It's um [1:02:02] >> We still do. [1:02:02] >> On the north side or south? [1:02:04] >> It's on the north side. It's a big lot [1:02:06] that's right there. [1:02:08] We are on We're on Lincoln. [1:02:10] >> On Lincoln. [1:02:11] >> Go to Lincoln. Go down from the past the [1:02:13] town hall to the first stop sign. Don't [1:02:16] go to Dave's. Turn left. And that lot [1:02:18] right there on the left hand side. [1:02:20] >> From the alley to Yeah. Lincoln. [1:02:22] >> Okay. [1:02:23] >> So, we How does that work, Lloyd? I [1:02:26] believe we got to get two appraisals. [1:02:27] >> Yeah, I think we got to get two. [1:02:29] >> And I think they just passed a new law [1:02:31] that we have to do that. [1:02:33] >> So, we have to have two appraisals? [1:02:35] >> I don't know. [1:02:36] >> Well, we're going to look into it [1:02:38] >> and then see um [1:02:40] we have no use for it. [1:02:43] Sharon, this is like one of the things [1:02:44] that we went with Dorothy to IUN and [1:02:47] said, "Hey, [1:02:49] take the property and see if you would [1:02:51] like to purchase it or take it on and [1:03:01] » Republicans decided it wasn't a good [1:03:03] idea. [1:03:04] >> It wasn't. [1:03:05] >> So, but anyway, we do own that. We have [1:03:08] no use for it. We're never going to [1:03:09] build on that. [1:03:11] So, Lloyd, can you look into that and [1:03:13] see if we have to have I I read [1:03:16] something the law that they just passed [1:03:19] um um [1:03:20] about municipal owning properties and to [1:03:23] get rid of it, but I'm not sure. So. [1:03:26] >> Uh maybe if you can have that and don't [1:03:29] wait till the next meeting and then let [1:03:32] Cindy know ahead of time so they can [1:03:33] make sure [1:03:34] >> know what they would have to do. [1:03:36] >> Yes, she has our information. [1:03:37] >> Yeah. [1:03:37] >> Okay, perfect. Thank you. [1:03:38] >> Sorry. [1:03:39] >> But in the meantime if it gets spring [1:03:40] you can cut. [1:03:41] >> [laughter] [1:03:43] >> Feel free to cut the grass. [1:03:45] >> The Is Am I right the last name? [1:03:47] >> Mine's Collins, his is Kill. [1:03:49] >> Oh, Kill. Yeah. Cindy's [1:03:51] >> Cindy's husband. [1:03:51] >> Yeah. [1:03:53] All right, Cindy. [1:04:02] » Oh, you're busy. [1:04:04] >> Thank you for coming. [1:04:05] Comments from the board? [1:04:07] >> I I have one. Sorry, Robert, but are you [1:04:09] aware of all the potholes on Van Buren? [1:04:12] >> Do you know we're going to pave that? [1:04:15] >> There you [laughter] go. [1:04:15] >> Where Where by What's her name's house? [1:04:17] Yeah, there's there's potholes there [1:04:19] that I have to maneuver. I have to drive [1:04:21] in the middle of the road. [1:04:22] >> Well, some of those [1:04:24] are potholes. [1:04:24] >> And I have them in my in my in in my [1:04:26] driveway. The big [1:04:27] >> Well, we can't do nothing about your [1:04:29] driveway. [1:04:29] >> No, not my driveway. [1:04:31] The [laughter] road by my driveway is [1:04:32] >> Thank you. [1:04:33] >> where the road by my driveway there's [1:04:36] >> The ones that are [1:04:39] holes and not [1:04:42] uh [1:04:43] what do you call God, I can't [1:04:45] layers. Some of them are layers and [1:04:47] people mistake them for holes. They're [1:04:48] not holes, they're layers. Cuz when they [1:04:50] layer them over them [1:04:52] and [1:04:53] they patch over them, patch over them, and when they lay it [1:04:56] they just lay another [1:04:58] asphalt over the top of that. But if [1:05:00] there are holes, there are genuine [1:05:03] holes, you know, I have three people [1:05:06] that work for Okay, and you know, we [1:05:09] can't be everywhere at one time and that [1:05:11] is we have a limited amount of cold [1:05:14] patch until the plants open. [1:05:16] >> Mhm. [1:05:17] >> But [1:05:18] if there are severe holes over there [1:05:20] tomorrow morning, I will make a note, [1:05:22] and I will go look, see, [1:05:24] and [1:05:26] >> Can you do the one on Michigan cuz [1:05:27] there's potholes now. [1:05:29] >> Which one again? [1:05:30] >> In front of Don's living room. [1:05:31] >> Yeah, that's that's the one. [1:05:32] >> No, we can't display in front of [1:05:34] Wiggins' house. [1:05:35] >> That's that's the one. [1:05:37] >> I just told [1:05:38] Joe what Joe said the same thing. [1:05:40] >> Joe, do you know the streets that are [1:05:42] getting done? [1:05:44] >> I don't think so. [1:05:46] >> If there are Like I said, if there's [1:05:47] holes, I will tomorrow morning when I [1:05:50] do whatever I got to do, [1:05:52] I will I mean [1:05:54] I got a list this big, and like I said, [1:05:59] I well, they ain't going to patch then [1:06:00] if if it's ever green. [1:06:04] >> 24, sorry. [1:06:05] >> Okay. [1:06:06] >> Yeah. [1:06:07] >> No, you said that last month. [1:06:08] >> Yes, I did. [1:06:10] >> I I I didn't know. [1:06:11] >> I actually knew this time. [1:06:12] >> And also [1:06:13] >> at [1:06:14] 11:00 [1:06:15] >> Yeah, same time. [1:06:16] >> Do you know what they did on [1:06:18] the bridge over there? They were working [1:06:20] on that yesterday. [1:06:21] >> In Lake Station? [1:06:23] >> Well, yeah, well, yeah. [1:06:23] >> They're putting a new water line there. [1:06:25] They're taking the old one down that's [1:06:27] hanging on the bridge, right? What are [1:06:29] they doing, Robert? Cuz they're parking [1:06:31] their trucks in our apartment lot. [1:06:32] >> Yeah, they are. [1:06:33] >> It's been going on. [1:06:34] >> I know. [1:06:34] >> But why? [1:06:36] The line that was hanging up longer than [1:06:39] the same one that we have on Michigan is [1:06:41] the same concept they have over there. [1:06:44] They removed the old line because it was [1:06:46] hanging there, and debris was falling [1:06:48] into the river, and they didn't want [1:06:50] item to [1:06:52] come talk to them. [1:06:53] >> Okay. [1:06:54] >> So, it was all They didn't repair it. [1:06:55] They just took it down. They removed it [1:06:57] all, and that [clears throat] line is [1:06:59] now running underneath the river like [1:07:01] ours over on Route 6. [1:07:03] >> Okay. [1:07:05] But they did have the trucks parked over [1:07:07] the park and I forgot to tell anybody. [1:07:10] >> [laughter] [1:07:16] » Yeah. [1:07:16] >> They had one there. [1:07:18] >> Yeah. [1:07:20] But they're gone now. They're done? [1:07:22] >> They've been gone. [1:07:23] >> Since when? [1:07:24] >> Done and gone. [1:07:26] >> Who called you? [1:07:26] >> called me [1:07:30] » Who was it? [1:07:31] >> Looked it up. [1:07:35] » The appraisal process is [1:07:38] First of all, we got to [1:07:40] uh [1:07:41] require approval from the town's [1:07:43] executive, which would be you guys, the [1:07:44] town. [1:07:45] Um [1:07:46] and notice has to be given to [1:07:49] appraisers. [1:07:50] >> That's why [1:07:51] >> And then [1:07:52] So, it's expensive and getting [1:07:54] time-consuming, but and here's the thing that we may be able to do [1:07:59] with. [1:08:00] If the lot is small and has low value, [1:08:03] typically less than $15,000, [1:08:06] or is landlocked, the town may be able [1:08:08] to negotiate directly with the [1:08:09] landowners whose property it touches. [1:08:12] So, I don't know if that's [1:08:14] >> Well, it's right on the corner and he [1:08:16] lives next door. [1:08:17] >> Yeah, I think it touches. [1:08:19] >> Yeah, I'm sure it does. Yeah. So, but I [1:08:22] asked them before if they wanted to buy [1:08:24] it and that's when she had cancer and [1:08:27] they said they didn't have the money at [1:08:29] that time. So, now she's passed away and [1:08:33] he's interested in it. So, where do we get the I mean, who's [1:08:42] got to pay for the appraiser? [1:08:48] He's not an appraiser. [1:08:49] >> He's not an appraiser. He's going to [1:08:50] tell you the dimensions of it. [1:08:53] >> Well, you it's You can Google it. Go on [1:08:55] GIS. Fred can tell you what it is. [1:08:59] >> But then, I mean, we have to get two [1:09:00] appraisers and it has to be an open bid [1:09:03] once we go through that one. [1:09:05] >> Yeah, no, you're exactly right. Like the [1:09:07] towns like towns or cities or whatever [1:09:09] usually have [1:09:11] like a trust that this deals with it. [1:09:13] They they all property in this and that [1:09:15] and everything else on how to sell it, [1:09:17] how not to sell it. Did I I explained it [1:09:19] to you when you called me that? [1:09:21] They [1:09:23] >> [laughter] [1:09:23] >> And because I just went through all [1:09:25] this, [1:09:26] and [1:09:27] it's it's not a hard process. Like [1:09:29] >> You just said it's just you have to [1:09:32] >> But who's going to pay for the [1:09:34] appraisals? We're not. [1:09:36] >> Probably will get it done because we got [1:09:38] to sell this property. We need an [1:09:40] appraisal. [1:09:41] You know, maybe they could pay for it, [1:09:42] but you don't want them to pay for it [1:09:44] because [1:09:44] >> Then they won't buy it. [1:09:45] >> Yeah, well, then the appraisal will say [1:09:47] well, that's cheap, but you know, [1:09:49] whatever. [1:09:49] >> No, I think it'd be more than that. Like [1:09:51] you just said I like lots [1:09:52] [clears throat] around here are probably [1:09:53] like you said in the neighborhood of [1:09:55] between 50 and [1:09:57] >> So [1:09:57] >> 20, 25,000. [1:10:02] » When it's that price, [1:10:05] like 15,000, [1:10:07] >> I I would say that's below 15,000. [1:10:10] >> Yeah. [1:10:10] >> But if if it's 25,000, [1:10:15] » By me, they are. [1:10:17] >> You get the appraisals, and then that [1:10:19] gets thrown out. [1:10:20] >> So if I if I can get one of my people to [1:10:23] give me a free appraisal on it, [1:10:25] >> Well, that you could do that. [1:10:27] >> You got people? [1:10:27] >> I got people. [1:10:28] >> I haven't looked at all this stuff to [1:10:30] pay for it now. [1:10:31] But it's just [1:10:32] You know, and then they have to be done [1:10:34] before this board can state [1:10:35] >> When I bought that other lot behind the [1:10:37] town hall, remember? When Tony called me [1:10:40] that day and said, "Come down, meet me. [1:10:42] I'm selling it to you." [1:10:43] >> Was it like 10,000? [1:10:45] >> I think we paid 15 for it, didn't we, [1:10:47] Tim? [1:10:48] >> I think so. [1:10:49] >> Yes, 15. [1:10:52] >> I think That's a big lot. [1:10:53] >> lot. It's bigger than this one. [1:10:55] >> Right. Okay. All right. We'll check into [1:10:58] that void and then [1:11:00] >> I'll give you the details and I just [1:11:02] [clears throat] wanted to let you know [1:11:03] while we were all discussing it. [1:11:04] >> Yeah. [1:11:05] I think I read that. That's why I said [1:11:09] >> Motion to adjourn? [1:11:11] Need a motion to adjourn? [1:11:13] >> I'll make the motion. [1:11:13] >> Motion made. [1:11:15] >> I'll second. [1:11:15] >> Second. [1:11:16] All in favor say "Aye." [1:11:18] >> Aye.
