We will start the school committee business meeting. This is y'all. Can you take [0:29] here. [0:32] Here. [0:33] Here. [0:34] Great. Can we rise for the [0:35] pledge of allegiance, please? [0:40] I pledge allegiance to the [0:42] flag of the United States of America [0:44] and to the Republic for which [0:46] to stand one nation under God, [0:49] individual with liberty and justice [0:52] for all. [0:56] All right. I'll try the meaning [0:57] over to Vice Chair Walker. [0:59] Thank you, Mayor. [1:00] So the first item on the agenda is [1:03] public comment. [1:04] Do we have any signatures? [1:05] signatures. Anybody sign in for public comment? Yeah, thanks. Go ahead and come on. I think [1:12] we're using the podium tonight because that's where the microphone is. And just say your [1:17] name and address. Thank you. [1:29] My name is Carrie Donald. I'm nine-tilted and street [1:31] new report and I'm the second director of the Newbury Court Education Foundation. I've [1:36] submitted a naming rights document that you will be reviewing this evening that I wanted to [1:40] to highlight the foods that have happened in the background [1:43] being in the community to be aware of. [1:45] Naming the new video production studio at New Report A School [1:48] after beloved community member and any founder, Cindy Johnson, [1:53] has a lot of meaning to us as an organization. [1:56] As I stated in the Naming Rights sheet, [1:58] it is important to note that over 40 individuals, companies, [2:01] and organizations donated over $15,000 in this number [2:06] is still climbing to honor Cindy because of her commitment [2:09] to not only new reports, public schools, but the new report community. [2:14] There are a few people who have committed themselves to this city like Cindy has. [2:18] I think it is also very important for people to know that if it worked for Cindy, [2:22] this entire project even happening at the high school was unlikely. [2:26] When it was presented to the NEF initially, the cost of the project was way beyond our scope. [2:32] So much so that we thought it was dead in the water. [2:35] Because of Cindy's determination and thinking outside the box, [2:38] She was able to take bits and pieces of the initial design and envision a more realistic project which [2:44] We ignited our dialogue with the schools. It is because of this that the new video lab and production studio is about to break ground [2:52] And also why we chose this room to honor sending [2:56] When the principal's office was named after Mary Linerd Mark Welch mentioned in his comments that the one piece [3:03] They got wrong about choosing to name the room after Mary was that they waited too long [3:08] that she deserves to see the community come together [3:11] to thank her for all she has done. [3:14] Cindy deserves this public recognition and celebration [3:16] and moreover she deserves to witness it. [3:20] In addition, although the public may only see the plaques [3:23] outside the few rooms named after individuals [3:25] throughout the schools, the Politas family [3:28] perfectly worded what we hope the room naming program [3:31] to encompass. [3:32] Because of the community's involvement [3:34] in attending the room dedication for their father, [3:37] our Stephen Poletus, the ribbon cutting was personal and meaningful. [3:41] They were so moved by it that they have now decided to donate another $5,000 to name [3:47] the room across from Stevens after their mom Jane who recently passed away. [3:52] It is my hope that many of you here and at home will consider attending the ribbon cuttings [3:57] for both of these rooms to see firsthand the meaning and thought behind this program. [4:01] It is not just about raising money, but honoring people in the report in meaningful ways. [4:07] Thank you, Kerry. [4:10] Do we have anyone else for public comment? [4:14] Okay. [4:15] So moving on to the next item on our agenda, which is the vote on the warrant. [4:22] I move to the following name bills of the New Report Public Schools, [4:25] amounting in the aggregate $790,819.45. [4:30] Be approved and afforded to the city auditor for payment. [4:33] there are no conflicts. Second. Okay and everyone received a copy of the warrant. Any discussion? [4:43] All this is David. Hi. Hi. Any opposed? The Vice Chair votes aye. Next item is meeting minute [4:51] approval for February 3rd 2025. Take a motion to approve those. So move. Second. Okay. Any discussion or [5:02] corrections? I have one. Under the Communications Subcommittee, I think it must have been an auto correct thing. [5:11] You'll see the word, successors, where it should be successes. Yeah, thank you. Any other, just any other, I guess, corrections? [5:23] Okay, so all those in favor? [5:27] Aye. [5:28] And the vice chair votes by. [5:30] Next one is the student representative of a port. [5:33] Thank you. [5:34] Thank you very much. [5:36] So starting off today with the Breznihan School, third graders in Jill Meos class have [5:41] been working hard on their letters to our senior center pen pals. [5:45] They started a program where third graders are paired up with local seniors to correspond [5:49] with throughout the year. [5:51] They have a plan to meet and greet in May for the pen pals to finally meet one another. [5:56] Resonahan students also recently celebrated a hundred days of school this year. [6:01] A huge thank you to the PTO, the new report fire department, and Ken Parsagen, also known [6:06] as the other hero for making the day so special. [6:09] Hopefully no kids are watching at home. [6:11] Yes. [6:12] The other hero arrived on top of a fire truck with kindergarteners ready outside to greet him [6:17] and practice their counting before returning to their classrooms. [6:20] They also showed him their collections and took class photos and did some fun experiments [6:25] with crafts and numbers. [6:28] Fourth graders at the Molen are preparing for their study of the different states in [6:32] our country with the annual great postcard chase. [6:35] Each class will be collecting postcards from each of the 50 states. [6:38] These are mailed directly to the Molen school from the state of origin and are used as resources [6:43] to discover the unique characteristics of each state. [6:46] Additionally, the PTO-sponsored Mullen music bingo night will also be returning in March. [6:53] The NOC school will be hosting a student-verse parent basketball fundraiser, and that will [7:00] be on March 26 at 6 p.m. to support the 7th and 8th grade overnight trips. [7:08] Students and parents will face off in two separate games, and the winners will compete against [7:12] a team of new report faculty members. [7:15] The knock is currently in great need of parents to play the game against the students. [7:19] They're currently two signed up, and they would like to have at least ten to play. [7:24] There will be halftime festivities and plenty of snacks and drinks. [7:27] Admission will be $5. [7:29] Any parents interested should email principal Marcos. [7:32] At the high school, the Global Scholars Club recently completed a week of community service [7:37] on marine conservation in the Dominican Republic. [7:41] Twenty-four students and four teachers worked with the Foundation Verde Perfundo, restoring [7:46] a coral reef, and planting mangroves in Boca Chica's Lagoon. [7:50] Students started each day with a 20-30-minute class explaining the purpose and science behind [7:55] their work. [7:56] Students also got to play basketball with the local children, donating baseball supplies [8:01] and basketball supplies from NHS. [8:03] The 7-12-year-olds, I'm sorry to say the art team quite badly. [8:08] Some students who went on this trip are also doing college credit through Southern New Hampshire University and EF Tours. [8:15] Other students are receiving high school credit through EF's accredited education program. [8:21] I would also like to congratulate Lucius Nelson, who will represent NHS at the Poetry Out Loud Competition on March 8th, [8:29] and the real-world design challenge who are added again [8:31] with a national championship this time. [8:34] This year's challenge involved designing an unmanned aircraft [8:37] system that can transport a given group of supplies [8:40] within a specific amount of time to support wildfire management. [8:45] Lastly, 10 NHS seniors recently participated [8:48] in the USA Biology Olympics Open Exam. [8:51] Objectives of the exam include nurturing the curiosity [8:54] of young biologists, developing their interests [8:57] in life sciences, encouraging the growth of the international network of biology [9:02] and propelling excellence in young leaders. Congratulations to Shea Hoffman, Samantha Johnson, [9:08] Madeline Jackman, Katherine Kebler, Elise Kennedy, Sophie Benayakis, Courtney Metzdorf, Emily Stick, [9:14] Noah Tarkin, and Danely Walsh. And thank you to Ms. Colling Fallon for promoting and facilitating [9:20] this opportunity for the students. It's all from me back to you, Ms. Walker. Thank you, Mr. Roberts. [9:26] I will be playing in the basketball game. [9:30] Good to hear. [9:31] I will not. [9:33] I have a whole month to get in shape for that. [9:37] All right, next item on our agenda is vote on funding for the MSBA accelerated roof project. [9:44] There are two votes tonight, one for the middle school, and one for the high school. [9:47] So we'll start with the middle school. [9:50] And I don't know. Do you want to do a presentation? [9:52] Sure, I have Mr. McSweeney will be coming up and kind of just giving the overall [9:59] process kind of we're at and [10:02] explaining you know what this will do for both. [10:07] Good evening. Thanks for having me again. So I was up here a couple of months ago talking about the MSBA process and [10:13] trying to give you an overview of where we are now. So [10:16] we got accepted, we got accepted into that process and now we're going through it back on January 29th. [10:21] we had a virtual meeting with the MSBA and part of that was to go through and do a building [10:28] service of every school in the entire state. [10:31] So part of that now is we're going through. [10:33] And then this morning was the first part of their actual onsite visits. [10:36] So this morning we did the dark moment. [10:37] Tomorrow morning we're meeting again. [10:38] They can start here at the high school and then go over to the President in the afternoon. [10:42] That will conclude that portion of it all. [10:45] But when we are now looking for to solidify the money we need to pay for what they call [10:51] the design and the OPM firm. So in Massachusetts on a public procurement, any [10:56] project over $1.5 million we have to have what they call an OPM, [10:59] almost project manager. Those are typically firms that are hired out, they [11:03] can and they work with the school district of deep palaties and they kind of are [11:07] the in between the owners, the school district of these palatine in the [11:11] construction and in the architects. And they're they're there for lots, they're [11:15] there to answer questions that maybe we don't know to ask that kind of thing. So [11:20] So this my level we're going to be requesting for from for you to vote on tonight and then we'll go on to the city city council for their vote. [11:28] So my understanding is city council has a true policy. So we'll go to them next week for their first week and then the end of March for their vote from there. [11:38] We'll take all the documents, all the vote counts, everything and set it into the MSBA. I've been working with them. [11:46] We're going back and forth, different dates, different information. [11:49] As long as we have everything into them, by April 2nd, we're still in the process and we're still ready to roll. [11:55] So, hopefully with a positive vote tonight, and then a positive vote from the City Council, we can continue this journey with the MSBA and get our worst hits. [12:06] Any questions? [12:08] Any questions from Mr. McSweeney? [12:10] Do we have an idea about what the reimbursement is for the repair program at this stage? [12:18] I believe we are in like a 43% reimbursement rate, but one thing to remember is that's [12:24] 43% of reimburseable costs. [12:28] So not everything that's going to go to the project is a reimburseable cost. [12:32] So that's one thing we just need to keep in mind, it's not 43% of the entire cost of [12:37] the project is just a, well, they're even worse. [12:39] But I would imagine because it's a repair program, [12:41] most of the costs probably would be covered. [12:43] Yeah, it's not like it's a school cost [12:44] where the sectors that come on. [12:46] Yeah, wait, okay. [12:49] All right, any other questions? [12:52] All right, so there are two votes, [12:55] as I mentioned, on the agenda. [12:58] And in your annotated agenda that you received [13:00] in the packet explains the details of the motion, basically. [13:10] So you can basically use that as you are [13:14] wording, but the first to summarize the first one is [13:18] to appropriate and we're sorry the district is seeking school committee approval for the city of New Report to appropriate the amount of [13:25] $215,000 for the purpose of paying cost of design in order to project management these as mr. McSweeney explained [13:32] So I you can use that wording to make a motion if anybody is willing to do that except a motion [13:44] Is that entailed just reading what's there? [13:46] I think that's all done in the past, right? [13:49] I'll do that. [13:53] So motion is as required by the Massachusetts School Building Authority. [13:59] The district is seeking school committee approval for the City of Nubry Port to appropriate [14:04] the amount of $215,000 for the purpose of paying costs of design and owners project management fees [14:11] for the roof replacement at the Rupert Knox Middle School in accordance with policy [14:16] DD. [14:19] Okay. Any discussion or questions? [14:25] Okay. All those in favor? [14:27] Aye. [14:27] Any opposed? And the vice chair votes aye. So that motion moves forward. The next one similarly [14:36] we can use the wording on the annotated agenda and this is for $275,000 for the purpose [14:42] of the roof project at the Hay School. [14:47] It's like the motion is someone else's turn. [14:52] I move that the City of New Report appropriated the amount of $275,000 for the purpose of paying [14:57] costs. [14:58] design and [15:00] This project management fees for the roof replacement at the New Report High School, 241 High Street, New Report Mass. Second. [15:09] Any discussion or questions? All those in favor? Hi. Any opposed? And the Vice Chair votes aye. All right. So that's the first step. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. McQueen. All right. Next item on the agenda is consideration review of the NEF's request to name room 210 at the New Report High Court. [15:31] high school in honor of Jane DeFoletis, and the vote would be, I mean, sorry, the motion [15:39] would be to basically grant approval of the naming rights for that room in accordance with [15:48] policy FF. So accept a motion with that wording. [15:58] I love it, no, I'm going to sit down. [15:59] And we have in our packet a summary of the reasons why the NEP is recommending this [16:07] renaming and requesting it our approval. [16:10] And as we all know from our review of our policies in the past, we ultimately have to make [16:18] a decision based on the merits of the renaming request, not the amount of money being allocated [16:25] or anything like that. [16:26] But they have the ability to fundraise, and we have ultimately the decision on the naming of the room. [16:39] I will move. I'll give them. [16:43] I didn't want to, but I move that we approve the naming rights and loving memory of Jane G. [17:03] I mean, I said this last week, I mean, I wouldn't be sitting here without Jane Poletus. [17:07] And I actually said it at the dedication of her husband's room when we did that as well. [17:12] But I think this is a perfect tribute to a really wonderful teacher that literally has stuck with me all these years since having her in class. [17:19] Thank you were the right person to do that. [17:21] I know that's why. [17:22] I'm curious about room 210 then. [17:24] Is it a history room? [17:26] Well, so the school that existed when we were here [17:28] and Ms. Police was here is not hearing more. [17:31] Right. [17:32] I think that is the significant is- [17:33] I think they're just doing it close to her. [17:36] Should we have her come up to the podium to answer? [17:39] Yeah, I don't unfortunately carry that. [17:41] You might have to do that. [17:42] So I would love to get this out of the way around. [17:44] I'm really just curious. [17:45] I assume that there's some significance to why it's that room in particular. [17:51] So, honestly, they really wanted the two rooms to be next to each other. [17:57] Okay. [17:57] And even's room is across the hallway, but in a meeting that they didn't mean to [18:02] happen, when they named the room after Stephen, that was, oh my God, I'm blanking, I'm [18:09] sure. [18:10] Kevin Sheridan's room. [18:11] And Kevin Sheridan has since moved to the room across the hall. [18:15] So it all kind of just fell and it wasn't because it was a history room they're more one of the rooms to be next to each other. [18:22] Got it. [18:22] Okay. [18:23] Yes, thank you. [18:26] And now we just add I think the description in the submission from the NEF to me is a good reason for these are the kinds of reasons that we name rooms. [18:38] You know, again, not attached to financial benefit, but that, you know, these are people, [18:44] these are individuals that we do want to recognize and it makes sense to name a room after [18:49] them. [18:50] So, I support the motion as well. [18:52] Any other comments or questions? [18:55] I would just be curious, ballpark, how many rooms are named at this point? [19:00] I think we can probably provide you with a list. [19:03] We had a list earlier when we got to move to them. [19:06] Yeah, yeah, would you be okay with just getting it? [19:10] Absolutely, yeah, we would do that. [19:15] Great. [19:16] So all those in favor? [19:18] Hi, hi. [19:19] Any opposed? [19:20] And the vice chair votes aye. [19:22] All right, next is the naming of the room 112 [19:27] in honor of Cindy M. Johnson. [19:29] Also a description in the packet related [19:33] to why the request is being made. [19:37] So I'll accept a motion. [19:40] I think it's the one in the last one there. [19:42] You should do this. [19:43] I'm still warmed up. [19:44] I'm trying to save my voice. [19:47] Oh. [19:47] I'll do it. [19:49] That's fair. [19:51] I move that we approve the naming rights [19:55] in honor of Cindy M. Johnson for room 112, [20:00] which will be the video lab at the high school [20:03] in accordance with policy FF. [20:06] Great. [20:06] Second. [20:07] Great. [20:08] All right. [20:08] Any discussion? [20:12] I'll just say similarly, I appreciate the explanation [20:15] and the justification. [20:17] I certainly think this is an individual worthy of naming. [20:22] Okay. [20:23] All those in favor? [20:24] Aye. [20:25] Any opposed? [20:26] In the Vice Chair votes aye. [20:29] All right. [20:29] Next item on our agenda is the 2025-2026 [20:33] second meeting. [20:37] I'll turn that over to you, Mr. [20:42] Calihan's input. We did make some modifications to our last calendar presentation. [20:49] I just go through them with your life. So in September, we moved the Friday, early release day 912 to Friday, 919. [21:07] The next one we did was the January full day PD from January 9th to Friday, January [21:17] 16th. [21:18] That's the Friday before the Martin Luther King holiday. [21:22] And then the suggestions because of the union and asked me where a good Friday felt to [21:30] shift back. [21:31] So it would be March. [21:32] March, so we moved the 327 early release date back one week to 320. [21:42] Those are the [21:43] modifications that we made for this calendar for tonight. Okay. Any questions [21:48] before we go to a vote for the superintendent? One about the March, the March [21:54] date. It was just one week away from the April date. Now it's two weeks away. Is [22:00] Is there any reason why it's not earlier in the month? [22:03] The rest of them are early in the month, so they're kind of evenly distributed. [22:07] Is there a reason for that? [22:09] I just think it's where we placed it off of the suggestions. [22:16] Suggestions from Mr. Callahan. [22:18] Mr. Callahan? [22:19] Oh. [22:20] It's my fault. [22:21] It just still seems like the rest of them are more spaced out, that's all. [22:25] That one let's busy two full weeks of school on either end of it happen, right because of the February break, right, right? [22:33] So you get the week after February break and then a full week of school, but oh, I see there's the break in there. Okay. No, I'm fine with it [22:40] I was just wondering why it wasn't earlier in the month. [22:48] Okay, any other questions for superintendent? [22:51] No, I think these are all positive moves and I appreciate you being so flexible with this. I think that in several cases and maybe that include one [22:59] It provides a little bit more rhythm in terms of the academic calendar I'm playing [23:03] For instance after the holiday break to have a full week of school on and then another week before the school buildings [23:08] I realize that that in the past has been very effective. So thank you for willing to be willing to make those kind of kinds of changes for [23:16] larger considerations [23:18] All [23:21] right, so if there's no more questions, I'd accept an accepted motion to [23:26] I guess adopt the 2025-26 school calendar as presented. [23:32] So moved. [23:34] Second. [23:35] Okay. [23:35] Any discussion? [23:36] What's up? [23:37] Yeah, this calendar. [23:38] A few people have asked about the April Good Friday holiday that asked me union contracts. [23:44] So it just, it only looks weird this year simply because of how early Easter falls. [23:57] I don't think that's quite how it's done. [23:59] Something that come along. [24:01] Why can't they just pick a day? [24:05] Somebody was like, why is it so far away from April break? [24:08] Because April break doesn't have to do with Easter, necessarily. [24:14] I think next year, Easter is late again. [24:16] And so, it will fall closer to the week of vacation. [24:20] Okay. [24:23] Any other discussion? [24:28] All right. [24:28] All those in favor? [24:30] Aye. [24:31] Any opposed? [24:33] And the Vice Chair votes aye. [24:37] All right. [24:40] Thank you. [24:41] All right. [24:43] Subcommittee updates is next on the agenda. [24:46] Thanks, Mr. Roberts. [24:47] Thank you. [24:48] Thank you. [24:49] but how long did that include 4 years of work? [24:51] Mr. Calhann, I use the company report hour by this update. [24:55] Yes, sorry. [25:00] We met on, sorry, for very 13th, via Zoom. [25:06] We had their related, I believe, right, [25:09] because there was going to be a delayed start. [25:10] That day? [25:11] Yes. [25:13] We talked about the new fee for skiing for athletics, which [25:17] which we increased $50 for next winter. [25:24] We spoke about the gym and space use fees [25:27] by New Report, Ethan Rec, from the NYS. [25:31] Their contract, which isn't really a contract, [25:34] but just discussed how they get the priority [25:36] of using those spaces versus third parties. [25:39] The man wanted to rent the gyms, general budget discussion, [25:44] including the tentative agreement we have with the NTA. [25:47] We'll discuss more of that tomorrow with the IVV meeting. [25:51] And that is all, and our next meeting is the 13th. [25:57] And I just want to go for it. [25:58] We're doing that at 8 a.m. again. [26:00] People won't be 8 a.m. [26:02] 8 a.m. works for me if that works for Mr. Bowdoor. [26:05] Sure. [26:05] Yeah, that's great. [26:07] Ms. Y'all, if you could note that and move things please. [26:09] Thank you. [26:12] Finds a good question? [26:13] Sure. [26:14] Is so would that be your joint meeting with budget and finance? [26:17] No, that's a thank you for reminding me about that. [26:19] But I actually heard from counselors come and zeed and they will be able to make it [26:24] on the 20th, which is that joint thing. [26:29] I've also reached out to Representative Shand, who was going to, she may, I asked her to [26:34] reach out to Representative Cruz out of Salem. [26:38] He had come to one of those meetings to train. [26:41] Yeah, two years ago. [26:42] It was really excellent. [26:43] Very good. [26:43] And talking about the state, what the situation at the state and chapter 70 and all that [26:48] stuff. [26:49] I've not heard back from other one of them, but it's definitely for the 20th and it's out of the hole, so everybody's invited. [26:55] We don't have time or location yet. [26:59] In the past, it's up in during the day or in the evening. [27:02] Late afternoon last time, because council people had another meeting that night, I think. [27:07] Okay. So we'll figure that out. [27:08] Is that a Thursday? [27:11] Yes. [27:12] Okay. [27:12] But that's what you're speculating late afternoon evening if we follow the last couple of years you four o'clock or so [27:17] I think [27:20] Make sure it's a time when they don't have to rush out because that's what happened last year [27:24] It was like 45 minutes and then they had to leave. Yep. [27:30] All right. Thank you, Ms. Callan [27:33] Remember Shaw, do you have any updates from the policy subcommittee so we did meet which is good and I want to also thank [27:43] Our co-chair who was the former sub [27:48] policies of committee member for coaching me and getting me up to speed, so my appreciation [27:55] and gratitude. [27:58] And so, yeah, a couple of things, the policies we looked at was staff or personnel use [28:06] of technology, and together it was access to digital resources, so those are working on [28:14] those still. [28:14] and then we're kind of, that's the stuff that will be coming to us from the [28:20] teaching and learning subcommittee, so then we'll have more things to talk about [28:26] next time. Yeah, so, and that one, that teaching and learning, it's related to [28:31] the, why is this name always excuse me, the termination and roll off the tongue? [28:38] Yes, and so that went through TLC and the policy subcommittee, but Miss Higgins is not going to be available for this meeting and next meeting, so we'll probably have it on the agenda for the following meeting. [28:57] Thank you, Miss Schott. [28:58] Thank you. [29:01] Remember how any updates from the communications subcommittee? [29:04] Yeah, I'll just say that we're going to be meeting this Thursday. [29:10] Yeah, you could tell me that. [29:12] Okay, so it's 5 to 6 p.m. in the knock library. [29:17] We'll be focusing on communications around the budget. [29:22] And Councilor Afro's comm will be joining us. [29:26] So that's she's going to be a great resource, but she's also a member of budget and finance. [29:30] So get a little insight on what issues or questions the counselors might have in preparation for the joint meeting on March 20th. [29:40] Great. [29:42] Yeah. [29:44] All right. And the second is not here. [29:46] So no updates from teaching money. [29:48] Let's another member of the. [29:49] I can just announce our next meeting, which I know is correct because I read it off the agenda here. [29:54] It's next Thursday March 6th at 6 p.m. [29:57] Okay. [29:58] Great. [30:03] Any updates for the presentation? Okay. All right. So that concludes our set of committee updates. Now the superintendent's [30:11] referring. Yeah, just did provide you the soon-to-tentry point because it's just a couple of bullet points, so it wouldn't. It would have looked [30:19] foolish if it wasn't a packet. We've been working on our budget and obviously we've been in negotiations with three unions, but I believe for Monday I'll be able to [30:30] present a level service budget which we typically can present to see where we're following [30:37] because we've made some gains so we can in negotiations where we can kind of look at [30:46] where the salary increases across the 400 employees may look like in general. [30:54] So I think it's really important for us to put together that level service budget to start [30:58] taking a look at that. So I plan on doing that for everyone on Monday. For an athletic [31:05] director, we met with a finalist and we are in negotiations, contract negotiations with [31:12] one finalist. And as soon as those done, then we'll be able to make the announcement of our [31:28] last school committee meeting was setting up a subcommittee which we was very helpful we had our first meeting [31:35] last right before the vacation with Miss Fall. Yes, she had that [31:41] There's a productive conversation and I'll turn it over to Miss Fall to take the credit [31:48] Sure, so Mr. Booger is also a part of that effort. Yes, and [31:54] And let's see, we had an addition to central office staff. [31:59] We had Mary DeLie there and Ethan Manning, having their expertise was wonderful because [32:06] this is their wheelhouse and one recommendation we got, which we've taken up on, is we're [32:12] changing the job title to director of finance and operations. [32:16] That seems to be pretty standard these days. [32:20] business managers considered a little, I guess, old-fashioned and not as high-level. [32:26] You know, if you're thinking about your job description and your job title and what goes [32:29] on your resume, Director of Finance and Operations is more attractive. [32:34] We also learned that Triton had just posted with that title. [32:38] And so in the interest of remaining competitive, we changed it on the job description and also [32:45] So got some advice from both Ethan and Mary on more places to post it so that it can [32:51] get, you know, get a more exposure and hopefully we can cast a wider net. [32:56] So our goal is to reconvene in two to three weeks, hopefully with some more applicants. [33:04] We didn't have a really strong applicant pool when we looked at what we had. [33:09] And so the fingers crossed that in a few weeks, these these tweaks will allow us to have a stronger pool will meet again and go from there. [33:19] All right. [33:19] Thank you. [33:20] Yeah. [33:21] All right. [33:22] Anything else wants to be done? [33:24] All right. [33:26] Okay. [33:27] I think the next item. [33:29] Oh, sorry. [33:30] Any new business? [33:33] New business. [33:34] Yes. [33:35] This shop. [33:36] So, this Thursday the CPAC will be meeting in person from 6-7 at the Knockmollon Library. [33:48] The other meetings that have been confirmed will be April 17th, May 15th and June 12th. [33:58] And those again will all be in person from 6-7 at the Knockmollon Library. [34:05] And they will be scheduled to be determined where they'll be the basic rights, which is [34:14] a requirement on an annual basis for the newer IEP presentation. [34:25] So that will, the basic rights will need to be scheduled in one of those meetings. [34:30] I'm not sure which one yet. [34:32] So that's where we're at, so it's great that it's the three folks that are co-chairing [34:42] the CPAC are, you know, getting back to in-person meetings, working really collaboratively, [34:52] and it's really, it's good to say that this I think is going to take off in a good direction [34:58] and because it needs to, so that is a great year. [35:04] All right, thank you, Michelle. [35:06] And Ms. Hal, did you have something? [35:07] Yeah, I wanted to let everyone know [35:09] that I received an invitation to join the planning team [35:12] for a community's cell phone dialogue, [35:16] something I've been pushing for, [35:17] so I don't know, maybe you had something to do with that. [35:21] Thank you. [35:22] Be getting invited. [35:23] It's being led by Lynn Cody, the librarian here [35:27] here at the High School and Eric Schilga, who's one of the eighth grade teachers. [35:32] It's about ten of us, a mix of parents, teachers, students, and so we're going to meet, [35:38] they said probably four or five times to put together a community dialogue similar to [35:44] what was done five, it was five years ago, five, six years ago on the Val-Sale conversation. [35:59] I'm really looking forward to being a part of that effort and certainly when I know more, I will let you know. [36:05] Great. [36:07] Any other new business? [36:10] Mayor? [36:10] I will just remind everyone that the state of the city address is tomorrow at 7pm. I hope you all can make it. [36:15] If you haven't let my office know yet, if you're going to attend, we'd love to have a seat reserved for you. [36:20] So just let my assistant know, again, starts at 7 p.m., again, the governor will be there, so we're very excited about that. [36:28] We also have the public and community service awards that will immediately follow the speech. [36:32] Our own school resource officer, Kyle McAvoy is getting recognized, which is great. [36:37] It's nice to see a nice positive article on the paper around an SSRO officer, especially recently. [36:44] and our own senior shootmaker is also getting an award. [36:47] Oh! [36:48] Oh! [36:51] Very well, sir. [36:52] So, yeah, no, we're really excited. [36:54] It should be a great night. [36:55] And I was half kidding about trying to save my voice. [36:57] But I have to practice my speech. [36:59] A little bit. [37:00] Yeah, it should be great. [37:01] I hope everyone can make it. [37:03] Great. [37:03] Let me know that. [37:05] All right, any other group is this? [37:08] All right, so the last item is a vote to go into executive session [37:13] for the purpose of discussing, well, whoever wants to make the motion. [37:20] I'll move that we vote to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing [37:26] contract negotiations, possible litigation and or legal matters, and we will not reconvene [37:30] in open session. [37:31] Second. [37:32] Okay. [37:32] Roll call. [37:34] May we begin? [37:35] Yes. [37:36] Do you work? [37:37] Yes. [37:37] Are you coming? [37:38] Yes. [37:39] Yes. [37:40] Do you have any changes in the year? [37:42] How come so? [37:43] Yes. [37:44] Do you work? [37:44] Yes. [37:48] All right, thank you. [37:49] Thank you.
