um the department has used Clemus for
[7:19] years as our main main frame for our

[7:32] taken over by Clemus Authority, which is
now an authority. It used to be run by
[7:36] Oakland County. Now, it's run by their
own entity. Um, we normally would renew
[7:41] the contract with Clemus every year.
However, because it's a new authority,
[7:44] back in the springtime, myself and um
Mr. Mcdana signed the agreement that we
[7:50] would go on board with the Columbus
Authority, but it had to go in front of
[7:53] the board for it to be take action. And
that's why we're here tonight. So it's
[7:57] basically an agreement with Clemus, a
continuation agreement with the entity.

by a different agency.

need stored, we can store it within the

consultants in support of the township

next couple months uh when we have

put one of these with assessment of our
[12:49] consultant uh support uh just for the
board review. I'm not going to go into a
[12:54] lot of a lot of detail. you you have the
the memo and I'm always available to
[12:58] talk about all of all of these. Um you
know with with OM
[13:04] um what I'd highlight is there's kind of
three
[13:08] uh spec or deliberate projects that OM's
working on which is the preliminary site
[13:13] plan for the EPAN portion of the park.
Uh the board will see that later this
[13:18] month or early November at the at the
latest. You've seen it once before.
[13:23] design and construction of the shoreline
portion of the park and then the iron
[13:27] work for the park split. Um we you know
for future projects I I think what we
[13:32] should be doing we should have done it
maybe all along is is bid out some of
[13:35] these projects as we move forward um
with the next whatever maybe the next
[13:41] parks and recreation or next deliberate
part uh project for the township. Um,
[13:46] and so that's that's kind of where I see
us us going and that's what we're
[13:52] pursuing right now is anything in the
future we'll we'll bid out. I mean for
[13:56] the for the shoreline construction
administration when we get to that point
[14:01] which we will get to that point that
will that should be bid out. Um so I
[14:07] think maybe previously it was a given
that OM would take some of these
[14:11] projects. I don't think that should be a
given and that's how all proceed uh
[14:18] proceed moving forward uh unless and
it's every decision is the board's
[14:23] decision and so it will come before the
board but you will see bids from me as
[14:27] opposed to a single proposal from any
single design firm. So I'll open for any

going to keep that fairly short. You've

um the synchronization
[15:02] while they're easy to get in touch with.
We we uh host a monthly synchronization
[15:09] meeting, go over the projects and
everything. That's great,

quality of work and you get to the
[15:18] timeliness,
that fails. And so that's where I go I I
[15:23] just I'm just not getting it in the
synchronization. We're having the
[15:27] communications.

what concerns me about our continued use
[15:41] even uh for special projects with them.

plans. Um that's not the case for for
[15:56] all of our consultants, but on the

synchronization aspect

well. So I think this is really good
[16:45] business for the township to do this.

going to shop that as well or just when

>> I'm looking more at the deliberate the

certainly we can we can we can do that I
[17:18] mean That's absolutely an option. That
wasn't um my plan or my recommendation
[17:24] at this at this present time, but that's
always an option if the board feels that
[17:30] they're not receiving quality services
from from any of our consultants. I I
[17:37] think that site plans that I've seen
watching planning commission meetings
[17:40] and what comes to us, it's not that I'm
not happy with these site plans or that
[17:44] they're not timely, but we m maybe that
quality of work can come from another
[17:49] firm at a at a better price, I guess.
So, just because we're happy with the
[17:55] work they're doing doesn't mean that we
shouldn't maybe look at other options as
[17:59] well. So, um, if we're doing this for
projects, then I think we should
[18:04] consider it
for all of our engineering needs. So,

failed essentially. Um additionally
[19:58] there was a a check valve on the pump
itself that uh that had failed. Um so
[20:04] those uh those have been replaced. Uh
the water has been heavily uh
[20:10] chlorinated. So we do have we do have
water. It's not drinkable. I wouldn't
[20:17] wash hands or for the firefighters take
a shower. I can certainly use the
[20:21] restroom, flush the toilets at this
point. Um and so they have been
[20:26] repaired. We'll have our plumbing
contractor come back out in the morning
[20:30] just double check everything. Um but the
water is flowing right now. pressure is
[20:36] going to be a little bit a little bit
low because we have a a backflow
[20:40] assembly that's that's partially on.
That's going to be checked tomorrow.
[20:44] That might be a future item that needs
to be uh either rebuilt or replaced, but
[20:50] it's it's okay right now for functioning
the water. It won't cause any further
[20:55] harm. And so that's one of the things
the plumbing contractor will look at
[20:58] tomorrow. And so um there is water in
the building for using the toilets.
[21:03] We'll flush the system um in the morning
to get all the chlorine out and then I
[21:09] would say by midm morning tomorrow we'll
have full use of uh of of the water in
[21:16] the in the public safety building.

site plan for the upland portion of the

provided that yet?

upon will be the the 9th tomorrow.

go to parks and wreck with just the it

the thing the board had. And then

[22:48] wreck will will weigh in on that sole
decision there. It'll come to the board
[22:53] to make sure as the applicant that the
board, yes, the park split is the the
[22:59] split is depicted. Um, and then it'll go
to the planning commission. So, that's
[23:03] our that's our timeline. So, uh, parks
and recck this month's meeting and then
[23:09] the sec the next September meeting that
will be on the agenda for the board to
[23:13] look at it one more one more time.

[23:20] mentioned that um that she may have to
come to the board sooner with a
[23:26] maintenance part-time maintenance
person. um that we're seeing that the um
[23:33] the park is being used more and the
receptacles are getting filled faster.

plan that will come to the board um

know I brought that to the board last
[24:08] year that is a policy decision and

[24:12] fall. We'll have multiple kind of policy
decisions as we look start looking at
[24:15] the 28 budget already. But that will be
one of the decisions is does the board
[24:20] want to commit to having some kind of
maintenance capacity and it's not just
[24:27] for parks and wreck. It would kind of be
for the whole township. So what does
[24:31] that look like? Who do they fall under
pay scale? There's a lot that has to go
[24:36] into that and we're we're starting to
work on that to bring that to the board
[24:40] to start thinking about for the FY28
budget cycle.

And then for the uh the farmers market
[24:48] um we had 11 businesses for the business
expo uh for the farmers market and then
[24:55] the kids event they I think they had
eight sign up and only six uh were there

out there is um my appreciation for a

weekend um with the storm that came

in the media. Um, but they were very
[30:48] easy to work with. I know some places
didn't get power for four four days, but
[30:52] there were some um we had some major
winds go through and if you go to the

Jennings Road area, um there's one large
[31:07] tree there that's been there for
probably a 100 plus years. Um, but I
[31:12] know the south end of the township got
it. So, I appreciate our firefighters,
[31:16] um, our police officers, the road
commission, um, DTE, and, uh, some of
[31:21] our mutual aid departments because we
ended up going to Dexter to cover a
[31:26] couple calls for them because they were
absolutely completely overwhelmed with
[31:29] what was going on during the that time
frame. So, um, and again, that leads
[31:34] into, uh, the sacrifice that a lot of
these people make. um they put family
[31:39] and and everything off to the side while
they take care of business for our
[31:42] community and it's a really just um
we're such a small department. It's our
[31:46] neighbors taking care of neighbors and
and we appreciate that. So,
