[1:40] Thank you. [1:41] We have no public hearings for tonight and that's a [1:43] riser debaker for the privilege of the four. [1:45] Thank you Mr. Chairman and request for the four for [1:47] duty sir. [1:48] Sir. [1:54] Good evening. [1:55] My name is Judy Cermac. [1:58] I am the 206 Eips of the Street Canada. [2:01] I'm currently president of the Ontario County Arts Council. [2:06] And I'm here to represent them and request that you [2:10] might consider putting us in your financial budget. [2:14] And this is reason why, because we do so darn much. [2:19] First of all, we have been in business since 1998, [2:26] or actually 99, and actually I have also [2:29] been part of the Arts Council since then, you can tell. [2:34] The thing about the Arts Council is that we are a non-for-profit [2:38] and we're completely volunteers at this point. [2:41] But we also do so many things that really involve [2:44] all of the county. [2:46] So that's why, again, I'm here because we need [2:50] some operational money. [2:52] With that, I'm just going to say that the Arts Council, [2:56] we have a new location in that is downtown, Canada. [3:00] Well, it's called Studio32. [3:03] And Studio32 is connected with FLCC. [3:06] We are partners with them and it has given us a wonderful opportunity to meet the people [3:13] who come to our county, though they are looking for the finger legs, they love it, they [3:18] think it's just beautiful here, they also like seeing the galleries and also the public art [3:25] that is in our areas. One of the things that we have noticed is that when people do come in, [3:30] they're from all over the country. It's not just Canada, they're going to a few locals, [3:35] other areas. They're coming from Texas, Alaska, we always ask them, you know, where are you from? [3:42] And that's what they'll tell us is that we're they're coming from and they do come from all over. [3:46] So, I think that's a good thing for the county. Along with that, we also do a lot of exhibits there at [3:54] Galleries 32, we're able to put on some things that are quite remarkable. One of the things we did this [4:01] was as exhibit for the VA and that was very moving and we hope to do that again next year it was a [4:08] wonderful experience and as I look around here I'm hoping that some of you will stop in there [4:13] because especially when we do that again next year it's a really moving exhibit. We also put [4:19] exhibits for toddlers and high school kids so we try to do that we do some of the art experiences [4:27] This is for people like the office of the aging. [4:30] We've done that and some places like quail summit. [4:33] They come in and do some things that really motivate them. [4:38] We're also this coming year, we'll be partners with a cobblestone. [4:43] So that's going to give us another exhibiting space. [4:46] We have about 200 artists that are part of our membership along with membership of people [4:52] who are supporting the arts. [4:54] And so that's part of our goal too. [4:58] We exhibit F.E. Wood Library and we also have rotating exhibits throughout the county [5:03] and different offices in building. [5:06] That gives our artists in the area opportunities to exhibit their work and also to sell it. [5:12] One of the things that kind of had separated from all of this of what we do. [5:16] We have a special fund that was established when Dr. Dorothy Mariner passed away. [5:22] And it's a special fund that set up just for scholarships, grants, and public art. [5:29] And when I say public art, some of you will know that just this weekend, we put in a new piece that gives us a street park that was donated by Baron Nagel of FLCC. [5:40] But the Arts Council had our hand in it. So we're really pleased to see it. Please go by. [5:46] Circle around if you need to. It's just beautiful. It's really beautiful. [5:50] But that's the kind of thing that we do. [5:52] We really try to make sure that the arts are available for everybody to see and for people to enjoy. [5:59] With that, we give a $2,000 scholarship to an FLCC student each year out of those funds. [6:07] And they are usually involved in the arts in some way. [6:11] Either it's music or theater or visual arts. [6:15] So those are the kind of, it rotates. [6:18] Along with that, we have over the past [6:21] but hanging systems into a variety of libraries. [6:25] So there's a hanging system in the Bristol Library, [6:28] the Bloomfield Library, the Naples Library, [6:31] the Victor Farrington Library, and of course, the Canada Library. [6:35] And people still can, if you're from a different area [6:38] and you haven't got something in your library, [6:40] let us know because we'd like to see the arts [6:42] in the libraries, and these have been very helpful. [6:46] The last thing that we do, of course, with this grant program that we have. [6:51] And the grant program is for non-for-profits [6:54] who are going to be doing some type of an art project. [6:58] And we have, it's a small grant. [7:00] We want to give, again, it's one of these special funds. [7:03] It's not out of our operating money. [7:06] It's out of these special funds that are just earmarked for that. [7:08] And so we have given money to Geneva for the dog block project. [7:14] We've given money to Naples for the Bristol Theatre, the Bristol Hills Historical Society. [7:21] We've given money to, we have given money to right now that one that I think is kind of exciting is the Marcus Whitman over in Gorham. [7:30] We bring back the page in advance. So some of you who know about that is exciting that this is going to happen, but we're helping to fund that. [7:39] I think I might have had three minutes. I'm going quickly. But I think that that might cover most of the things we're doing. I'm probably left something out. We do so many things. [7:50] But it's really an exciting program, it's an exciting place to be right now. [7:55] And we offer a lot to everybody in the county. [7:59] If you have any questions, I would like to answer them. [8:02] But I know you're on a time schedule. [8:04] We gotta go. Anything? [8:07] Yes. [8:07] I just talked about giving out scholarships and stuff like that. [8:11] Look at your funding. [8:11] Where are your funding sources currently coming from? [8:14] For the operational money or anything. [8:16] All that money is in a wealth management fund, and it's set aside. [8:21] Where did you get that? [8:23] That was a big question from Dr. Dorothy Marin, and your other app ready funds? [8:27] All right, for another, we have the membership fees. [8:31] Okay, okay, membership fees, we have people who donate, we have fundraisers, we, you know, that kind of, yeah. [8:38] So that's separate from the other one. [8:40] I'm Badge, may I say that? [8:42] Thank you. [8:43] Anything else? [8:48] I'm sorry, would you say? [8:49] Is there a specific dollar amount that you're looking for? [8:52] Yes, 14,400. [8:57] Not a full lot but enough. [8:59] Yes, there is. [9:01] Anything else? [9:02] I did leave paperwork with your secretary. [9:06] Is that what you're called? [9:07] I'm a deputy clerk. [9:09] Okay, clerk. [9:09] Okay, thank you. [9:10] Anything else? [9:12] Thank you. [9:12] Thank you very much. [9:13] When the Department of [9:18] Health. [9:18] When the reports of County officials. [9:21] Administrator, both. [9:22] Very, very quickly on a personal note, [9:24] just thank you to everybody. [9:25] The package that you sent to my family was much appreciated. [9:28] I appreciate everybody who sent cards. [9:30] Reach out with tax and everything else. [9:32] I'm back. [9:33] You can't give it to me that quickly. [9:34] Thank you. [9:35] I'll go. [9:37] By the way, we told them to take a lot more time off on the heel. [9:39] But I was going to start raising the neck. [9:42] We appreciate you being back soon. [9:45] We have no reports of special committees or standing committees, and on our agenda, there's a list of [9:51] communications that are on a file with a board clerk. [9:53] If you just chair, standing committee, just like to remind members of the page of the meeting, [9:58] one day starting at 8 o'clock up to the county building, and we're inviting all members of the board to use your dial ed or join us for hand meeting. [10:05] Much of premium. Oh, no, we're here. [10:09] We're here. [10:10] I would have been out there. [10:18] Anybody else? [10:20] Move on our resolutions.
