Do you want to jump in, Christie? No. [0:15] No? Okay. Thank you, sir. [0:19] No problem. Here. [0:20] And why do you take that and then maybe stand over there? [0:23] Okay. Next, we've got Sue Strong. [0:26] Are we going to do individual pictures? [0:29] What do we do? What do we get everyone up? [0:31] And then we'll do whatever Sarah tells us to do. [0:34] Okay. [0:35] Thanks. [0:36] No. [0:40] No. [0:41] Okay. [0:43] Okay. [0:44] And then next. [0:45] Got Greg Timbers. [0:47] Thank you. [0:50] And this is for 10 years. [0:59] So, would you 10s? All the 10s at once? [1:01] Yes. [1:02] Okay. Sounds good. [1:04] Why do we step by? [1:06] And what do we do? [1:08] Okay. [1:25] Thank you. [1:33] It's one child. [1:35] Okay. [1:36] Barry's out on the road. [1:37] Yeah. [1:38] Sure. [1:39] For 15 years. Again, Barry's out on the road. [1:42] Doing exactly what we need him to do. [1:44] So thanks. Thanks to Barry. [1:46] For 15 years of service. [1:47] And we'll we'll keep this for him. [1:49] Similar. [1:50] Tim. [1:51] And also on the road. [1:52] Okay. [1:53] But we do for. [1:55] Laura's here. [1:56] Yeah. No. But what did you go? [1:58] Oh, the show you were hiding behind Todd. [2:00] There we go. [2:02] I looked over and you were behind Todd. [2:04] 20 years of service. [2:05] Unbelievable. [2:06] Congratulations. [2:07] Thank you. [2:08] Oh. [2:09] Can we do this? [2:11] Come on. [2:12] Now, I think we should do a special photo for you. [2:15] I'm just going to stay here on this. [2:18] And just a comment on Laura. [2:35] I love. [2:37] And we're going to touch on it with our video here in a little bit. [2:40] But I love seeing you doing all the wedding ceremonies. [2:45] It's so fun to see you in action with that. [2:48] And just have the perfect personality. [2:51] I think 96 of them this year, right? [2:53] Some of that. [2:55] Anyway, thank you for that. [2:56] Okay. [2:57] Next. [2:58] And but we've got Jamie here. [3:01] 25 years. [3:03] 25 years with Jamie. [3:04] Let's make sure it's right. [3:09] Thanks. [3:12] Okay. [3:13] Okay. [3:15] So we've got Brad. [3:32] Okay. [3:33] 30 years. [3:34] Wow. [3:35] Okay. [3:36] So first we'll bring Brad. [3:38] Brad Adams. [3:39] Oh, Brad. [3:40] Oh, yeah. [3:41] So we've got Brad. [3:43] Adam's coming up, Brad. [3:44] You guys. [3:45] Good. [3:46] Thank you. [3:48] Thank you. [4:12] So thank you to everyone for your tremendous service. [4:28] And for those that aren't able to join us, we'll be sure that we give you your certificate. [4:34] And thank you all for just another year of tremendous service. [4:38] We couldn't do anything if it weren't for all of you. [4:40] Thank you. [5:11] Okay. [5:12] Next we're going to have a video play. [5:14] What's that? [5:16] I have a report. [5:18] There's a video. [5:20] See our video. [5:22] I don't have a video. [5:24] Okay. [5:26] Okay. [5:28] If you want to bring the report forward. [5:36] Yeah. [5:37] Can I get a motion to bring the report forward? [5:40] Okay. [5:42] So moved by Pam seconded by Willie for report number 11.4. [5:47] This is CLO0326 from C. [5:53] And we're just going to play it on CR's phone. [6:04] I also encourage everyone to go through that report. [6:09] It's extremely impressive. [6:10] Just every piece of our organization stepping up in very significant ways. [6:15] So it's nice to look at one year. [6:18] It feels like there's sometimes a fire hose kind of pointed at us. [6:21] And when you when you step back and think of what was accomplished. [6:24] It's quite impressive. [6:30] Are we close? [6:39] Okay. [6:44] For those who went through the report, [6:46] any comments before we did the video? [6:50] Is that none? [6:52] Yeah. [6:53] I'll do my regular feel good comment. [6:56] It's shocking. [6:57] The amount that is able to get done from such a small municipality. [7:01] When you look at all the projects that are being done. [7:04] It's not just because not only are they laser focused on the things that need to happen, [7:08] but they work really well together. [7:10] And so this is my first term. [7:12] This is my first kick at the can. [7:14] But this is not what I expected when I signed up for this. [7:17] I knew that there'd be a lot of hard work, [7:19] but I didn't know that day and day there'd be individuals that were just making our jobs so easy [7:25] and just an incredible amount of appreciation. [7:28] You could look at the export, for example, [7:30] even just recruiting 25 new staff for the 71 seasonal staff. [7:35] If you were to ask almost any citizen of Uxbridge how many people go into supporting the Uxbridge pool, [7:40] they might give you a handful. [7:41] There's a lot that goes on. [7:43] And so I look at our CEO and the same breath and just to manage so many individuals [7:48] and make sure that they're all doing what they need to. [7:50] It's pretty great. [7:51] Over to the video that I think is now ready. [7:55] But thanks. [8:00] Thank you. [8:30] Thank you. [9:00] Thank you. [9:30] Thank you. [10:00] Thank you. [10:30] Thank you. [11:00] Thank you. [11:30] Thank you. [12:00] Thank you. [12:30] Thank you. [12:32] Thank you. [12:34] Thank you. [12:58] Wow. [12:59] I don't know about you guys but I'm tired just watching the video of all the things that were done. [13:03] Also, every time we see another photo, you think of the person who is driving that one, right? [13:10] It's like, or the people, but just love it. [13:13] So, so great to see the conference from the people in this room and the entire organization. [13:19] Anything else to comment? [13:22] What's that? [13:24] Did you build us here? [13:26] No. [13:27] Okay. [13:29] Nice. [13:30] Good job. [13:31] Fantastic. [13:32] It's harder to put that all together than you think. [13:35] Yeah. [13:36] I know how long it takes for me to do like a 30-second video sometimes. [13:40] Unbelievable. [13:42] Looks fantastic. [13:44] And what's even more impressive than the video itself is. [13:48] Each item was. [13:51] So much work, right? [13:53] And. [13:54] And then you think of the volunteer aspects of it as well. [13:57] I didn't. [13:58] I didn't catch. [13:59] How many hours of volunteer work on the trails? [14:03] Someone. [14:04] See that one? [14:05] There Dave. [14:06] It was just over 800 there. [14:07] I believe at our last meeting that the number was slightly understated. [14:11] I would guess. [14:12] Yeah. [14:13] So I mean it. [14:14] They are looking to try to do it. [14:16] But these people often traverse the trails every day. [14:20] So as something needs repair or clean up, they just do it. [14:24] So they do love what they're looking after. [14:28] But often it's just, you know, happenstance that they go about doing it and cleaning up. [14:33] So it is slightly understated. [14:35] But we also on behalf of the Township Councilor Pickering myself to give thanks for that. [14:40] Our other last meeting. [14:41] Yeah. [14:42] Okay. [14:43] Thank you so much for putting that together. [14:45] It really. [14:46] I think it's important that every year we. [14:49] We take stock of what's been accomplished and what's what's left to do, right? [14:54] Can't thank the team enough. [14:56] All right. [14:57] So we have some delegations. [14:58] Give me one second. [15:00] Can I get a motion on the report? [15:10] Can I get a motion on the report? [15:14] Any questions or comments? Can I add a friendly just to have staff make sure that that video goes out [15:23] on socials as well as the report? [15:27] Okay. All in favour of that? That is carried. Thank you very much. [15:31] All right. Let's jump into our first delegation. [15:35] Is the Vaan and Roger. I think you're missing half your team from the Oxford's Law and [15:41] Boarding Club. [15:42] Yeah, come on up. And there's a little gray button. [15:45] Okay. Good. Thank you. [15:48] I am the President. I'm the President of the Oxford's Law and Boarding. [15:56] I have the Oxford's Law and Boarding Club for this is my third year. [15:59] So I haven't been with the club as the history in Uxbridge. [16:02] And I hear the Law and Boarding Club has had quite the history. [16:05] And the Law and Boarding Club and the town hall of the community work together. [16:10] Which I think everyone, that's the issue that is involved. [16:14] You have to share the information. [16:17] So, the next slide. [16:21] This is a gift. [16:22] It heads up. Yeah. [16:23] It was for recreational and competition. [16:26] And for members we have drop in games. [16:29] We have team competitions several times a week. [16:32] We do it in the evenings. [16:33] It's usually hot during the days. [16:36] And we also hold tournaments, which includes little. [16:40] We only do locals. [16:42] We do not host any tournaments anymore. [16:44] But we just do the locals. [16:46] We just have a fun game. [16:47] Our current member from last year. [16:49] We had actually 40 members. [16:51] And we had a nine year old all the way to a 90 year old. [16:54] And it was lovely seeing them all interacting together on the same. [16:58] On the same game. [17:00] And our season outdoor season runs from April to October. [17:04] So that's about us. [17:06] And the next one is the leasing agreement. [17:08] And the current agreement was signed in 2007. [17:14] And it's valid in 2024. [17:16] Those of you. [17:18] And so yeah, we had I think a 99 year lease on it. [17:23] It says the township built the bowling lawn bowling green. [17:27] The clubhouse and the parking lot. [17:29] So that is owned by the township. [17:31] And funding some funding was supplied by the club. [17:34] I was not around for any of this when it happened. [17:37] I think the new clubhouse was an 86. [17:40] It is when it was built and when all the stuff was going on. [17:44] The properties for use and enjoyment of members of the club. [17:48] It's open to members of the Uxbridge. [17:50] Oh, even though you don't have to be a member to enjoy it. [17:53] And the township is responsible for the capital improvements. [17:57] And the club is responsible for the operational cost such as the property maintenance, [18:03] which is all done by volunteers. [18:06] And the insurance, which we have insurance and the township has insurance together for that. [18:14] And one of the things on the leasing agreement says it's exclusively used for lawn bowling. [18:20] If any other uses are allowed. [18:22] We have to contact the council to get approval. [18:26] So that's basically why I'm here. [18:31] The property for those of you who haven't seen the property. [18:34] It's actually an amazing property. [18:36] It is right in town. [18:38] And I have to say I live close to that property. [18:40] And I walk by it for about 20 years before I realized what was there. [18:45] And when I went inside, it's amazing. [18:47] So it's right behind the arena. [18:50] It's you access it through the parking lot of the arena. [18:53] It has its own parking lot, which is yours there. [18:56] There's an equipment shed where we keep our equipment. [19:00] And it has an air condit. [19:02] It has a clubhouse, which is air conditioned heated. [19:06] It has its accessibility. [19:08] There's no stairs. [19:09] It has washrooms. [19:11] It has a storage room where we put our bowls. [19:14] It has a kitchen facility. [19:16] It is not up to standard for. [19:19] It doesn't have the smart server. [19:21] We can't use it for anything when it that. [19:23] But it works for us for. [19:27] And we have the stole of the fridge. [19:29] And it has a really big nice big meeting room. [19:34] So. [19:36] The next one. [19:38] The next one after that. [19:40] There. [19:41] So that's actually what it looks like inside. [19:44] And that was on a winter day. [19:46] It is the windows. [19:47] It has the windows facing south. [19:49] And it is. [19:51] That day the sun was shining in. [19:52] It was extremely warm inside. [19:54] It was just with the sun. [19:56] And we took all the tables and chairs away. [19:58] Over the winter. [19:59] Just to. [20:00] Keep it like that. [20:01] It's. [20:02] Yeah. [20:03] And so. [20:04] The township was got involved again when the fall of 24 mold was located in the washrooms. [20:10] And therefore they had to be renovated. [20:12] It was another one of your capital expenses. [20:14] I guess it was from last year. [20:16] And I think about 20,000 dollars was put into. [20:19] Redoing those bathrooms. [20:22] And with that renovation done. [20:24] It was said that to avoid it happening again. [20:27] With the cold weather in the sun coming in. [20:30] That it has to be heated during the winter. [20:33] I think she said it's like 55 degrees is what they want to keep it at for winter. [20:38] Just to avoid. [20:40] Damaging what just put all the money into. [20:43] Okay. [20:44] So what we did last year. [20:45] I met with Amanda last year. [20:47] About this time what we're supposed to do. [20:50] I'm very new at all this. [20:52] And so we said what's how can we make the use of the facility because it's. [20:57] Even when we do have lawn bowling. [20:59] I think facilities may be used. [21:01] 10 hours a week. [21:03] And it's just sitting there. [21:05] Great location. [21:07] Walkable everything. [21:09] So one of the big things as being on the executive is how to make more use of the building. [21:13] The facility it's there. [21:15] It seems hard to see something there that's not being used. [21:18] And so we did have some people asking us if they could use the facility in the winter. [21:23] And we ended up having some yoga. [21:26] We actually met through one of the participants when they were at the park or at the museum. [21:32] She was talking to his no facility and I go lunch. [21:34] We have one here if you want. [21:36] And so we tried it. [21:38] Isn't in the fall to say for there. [21:41] And these. [21:42] Anyone who comes they have to have their own insurance. [21:46] And our insurance does cover outside groups as well. [21:50] That was part of in it. [21:51] We tried it just in the end of the year. [21:54] Didn't know how winter was going to go. [21:56] And they didn't know how it's going to go. [21:58] They loved it. [21:59] They asked if they can continue with it. [22:01] So we thought okay. [22:02] Well let's see what we can do with it. [22:04] So since we tried it. [22:06] One of the things that we're finding is. [22:09] As volunteers. [22:11] We're the ones doing the snow shoveling. [22:13] So I have three very good volunteers who go up there and shovel the path. [22:18] From the gate to the entrance. [22:20] We also. [22:21] I do check it on weekends when they're not there, but it's great having. [22:25] People in there usually they're just Tuesday for an hour and a half. [22:29] Wednesday for an hour and a half Thursday for an hour and a half. [22:32] So somebody's in there in the winter just to make sure it's going well. [22:36] And we just clean it. [22:38] We've had issues with the locks. [22:40] Winter locks. [22:41] We've had some issues. [22:42] We have to work on. [22:44] Just but we tried it. [22:45] So now we know what we have to work on. [22:48] The heat hasn't. [22:50] It's. [22:51] We've kept it now at 65 because we found 55. [22:54] It doesn't heat up fast enough. [22:56] So to keep. [22:57] But it'd be great if we could. [22:58] Eventually we'd like to get a smart thermometer. [23:00] Thermostat or something to make it work. [23:03] More economical. [23:05] And. [23:06] So therefore we'd like to say. [23:10] That instead of just exclusively. [23:13] That the lawn bowling club can rent the clubhouse facility. [23:16] To the local community organizations and groups. [23:19] And the township should not incur any costs and obligations for this. [23:25] And the money that we're using for. [23:28] That we've made. [23:30] Is. [23:31] We're trying to update our equipment so that our volunteers are using equipment that doesn't need to be repaired. [23:37] As they're using it and we're hoping to keep the cost of membership down. [23:42] So we can get more members. [23:44] So we can get more volunteers because we're down to about five volunteers who do all that work there. [23:49] And. [23:50] And yeah, so the more we can get it used. [23:53] How people do share with the volunteering abilities. [23:56] And enjoy it because it is if you haven't had a chance. [23:59] It's a lovely facility that you guys have all these involved with. [24:03] I haven't been there very long so. [24:07] And that is my presentation and I will take questions. [24:13] First of all, thank you very much for stepping up. [24:16] Sometimes when you go to a new area, you go to a new organization. [24:21] You're like, oh, this is amazing. I love it. [24:23] And then 10 minutes later you're in charge. [24:25] So thank you for stepping up and assisting there. [24:28] It's great. I'm going to open up the questions. [24:34] All right. Oh, go ahead. [24:37] I'll maybe start with a statement and see if a question comes out of it. [24:41] I like what your club's looking to do. [24:43] We know that space allocation can sometimes be a challenge in our area. [24:48] We know that we don't have a lot of space always available. [24:51] I do have some questions just as it would pertain to the rental two particular groups. [24:58] I have the good fortune of sitting on the music hall board and then a lot of the work with the senior center. [25:04] So using a similar model of a shared space with public and then a very particular group. [25:09] I'm just wanting to make sure that we got the opportunity right. [25:14] And I think about folks like Toby who would be managing the financial piece of any of the revenue that would be coming in. [25:22] And then I also think about Joanne who's are our bookings clerk and what it would look like in terms of making that space available. [25:31] Two groups and how do we we make sure that is fair and equitable through your group, right. [25:38] So I've just got some more general questions around the facility itself and how the township would be able to support your club in the rental of the space. [25:49] And so I like the request. I like what's been put in you know before us, but I think it would need a little bit more before we would be able to start changing some of the wording on this on this document. [26:04] Yeah, just before we go to Todd. [26:07] My recommendation here is that we send this back to staff for report on how to how to make this work and how best to use the facility. [26:17] And I think we should probably do kind of baby steps, we should like, oh, this year's yoga and maybe there's one more idea maybe scouts or something and then the year after we might do something else. [26:26] So it's just really open to ideas, but I think it's best that we kick it to staff to work directly with the club on who know the space is better. [26:35] But Todd go ahead. [26:36] Yeah, I agree with Councillor Pickering on this and I think from an aspect this brings me back to the arena when we were doing the upper room there for the one group. [26:46] And now it's opened up to others and we put something into place for that. So it might be along those lines that staff can look at and see what because it is a great facility. [26:55] And if it's underutilized and we can make use of it and revenue, then that's a good thing. [27:02] Yeah, again, we need to we need to make sure that any space that we have in the township is serving as many people as it possibly can. [27:13] Right, that's that's why we're doing these things so that you know you think just like you mentioned that room above above the arena looking down. [27:23] It was underutilized for like 20 years we need to make sure we little by little we change these things. [27:29] And I love that ideas because right now I'm in charge of all of that we were talking about and it's fine I do that but it is a lot. [27:40] So sharing with the like the volunteering the organizing the emails I get message of the lock is well it's great if we can share. [27:48] Who's in charge of everything because right now it's just all on our shoulders and to share all of that would be helpful. [27:55] And again, and we we have an existing team in place that does everything else. [28:01] So you know there might be a way that you know for this for these months this happens for these months this happens so that you don't think about when you go away on vacation or something. [28:11] Yeah, exactly. [28:12] Now I currently do have people using it and my logic continue with this. [28:16] Oh, I have what we say when when we craft the motion. [28:22] What we'll add that nothing changes until there's a report comes to council. [28:27] That makes sense. Again, we don't want to we don't want to go backwards at all. [28:31] Yeah, and again, it is not it isn't a huge facility like I think. [28:37] Forty people it like it is not a huge facility and one of the things I personally for. [28:43] For using it was around till there's no alcohol just because that causes a whole bunch more problems we don't have insurance for it. [28:50] I don't we don't have storage for it. It's too open. So I haven't used any of that. [28:55] So it's just basically for use to enjoy and it's got indoor outdoor. [29:02] The greens where we're long bowling we don't like anybody using that one because that is takes a lot of maintenance. [29:10] But there's a lot of space around the building itself which all we do is mow it so it'd be great if we can find other uses for that as well. [29:18] Because it's yeah. It's it's a beautiful space if you haven't had a chance to see it. [29:24] Come on up there sometime because it's absolutely lovely. [29:28] Even in winter that one picture shows. [29:30] Yeah. [29:32] Again, love the creativity on this and thank you so much for highlighting this to us. [29:38] Oh, sorry really. [29:40] Go ahead. [29:41] Not a problem, Mayor Dave. Thank you. [29:43] Thank you for bringing this forward to us. [29:45] I think back in 2018 I was owed on a door knocking way back. [29:49] And the biggest ass from the law and bowling club was the EEDs and maybe some additional support that way. [29:55] I think it's a good reminder that about this facility. [29:59] Make it part of our ass. [30:00] Senate management plan to make sure that it's well looked after. And also, thank you for reviewing your [30:06] lease and looking at options to make it better. I don't know if I was aware it was a 99 year [30:12] lease. And because of that, there's probably an opportunity beyond this one article about [30:19] your referencing to have a peek at just to make sure that our partnership is better. And I don't [30:24] mean that with a scare or anything that way. More so just many things have happened since 2007. [30:31] And also just as part of our asset management plan, looking at the facility and being a [30:36] little more proactive. I mean, I've got confidence in our park staff that we're looking [30:41] after buildings. But giving us a reminder that if we can have a peek in, I think the smart thermostat [30:47] makes sense so that you don't have to traverse there every day. I mean, if you look at the temperature [30:52] changes over the last week, we went from, you know, above level to very below levels. So having [30:59] somebody have the ability without having to shovel to get there to change the temperature, makes [31:04] a ton of sense. And again, thank you for bringing it forward. It's appreciated. It helps us a great deal. [31:08] I'll make that motion, Mayor Dave, if you want to. I think you were looking at referred to staff. [31:15] Make sure that current business as usual is maintained. And then is there anything else you'd [31:24] like to add in at that on that? No, I think that's probably enough. Let's make it as broad as possible. [31:30] So that, again, allows you to keep doing what you're doing. Do you want me to keep letting you know who [31:36] is using it? Like, or who do I contact? Who's my contact? So will we, Amanda? Yeah, keep working through [31:42] and then turn email and everyone gets me just to, so we know what's all going on. I'm sure I do have [31:47] the real farmers doing a first aid course in February. I think they asked for two days there. [31:52] Love it. Okay. I'll send that for. I think Councillor Pickling was probably referencing an opportunity [31:58] when he mentioned Joanne and music called that there might be some scheduling assistance, but I mean, we'll leave that [32:03] to the report with staff to see how to best bring that for. Is that accurate? Councillor Pickler. [32:08] That's fair. Through through director Ferrell, would still make sense and especially when [32:13] we're considering the entire envelope. Yeah. But yes. Okay. So move by Willie [32:20] second and by Z. Good for that. And again, a fairly broad refer to staff, business as usual, [32:26] current rentals stand and any other new rentals run through Amanda, like just as an FYI, [32:33] and then we'll come up with a process. I think fairly quickly. We do a lot of this. So [32:37] let us help way more than I do. Thank you very much. [32:41] No problem. Todd has a point. Does that just need to state for a report to come back? [32:45] Yeah. Yeah. It was sort of worth a bit. Sure. Sure. If it was captured. [32:50] Yeah. Thank you, Councillor. Next. That was my intention. I didn't assign any date to it. [32:54] But I would assume that time is somewhat of the essence if you're looking to schedule things [33:00] moving forward. But if we're allowing businesses as usual, I think that Amanda and [33:06] yourself can look after that in a timely fashion. Yeah. I mean, anything else you [33:11] want in the in the motion? Are you good? Okay. Sounds good? Okay. All right. All in favor? [33:16] Thank you. That's unanimous. Thank you so much. See you. [33:21] Okay. Next we have. Next we've got Ricky Brooks from Ontario Festival Group. [33:35] I think you're, I think I see you on screen, maybe? Yeah. Can you make Ricky bigger? [33:40] Okay. Go ahead, Ricky. Yeah. Sorry. Couldn't be there today. [33:45] Good morning. Can everybody hear me, okay? [33:50] So we can hear you. Yeah. You guys can hear me, okay? Yes. [33:56] Good morning. Mayor Barton and members of Council. Thank you for the opportunity to speak today. [34:04] My name is Rick Brooks and I'm the president of Ontario Festival Group. [34:09] The producers of Uxbridge Ribfest. Uxbridge Ribfest is a family-friendly community festival that celebrates [34:17] free food, live music, and local pride. [34:21] While raising meaningful funds for local causes in 2025, the event raised $6,000 for local charities, including [34:29] $2,500, which we donated to the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation. [34:34] Building on that success, we are excited to bring back the third annual Uxbridge Ribfest, [34:40] taking place at Elgin Park scheduled for June 19, 2021 on Father's Day Weekend. [34:49] For 2026, we expect to welcome over 10,000 attendees, which would be a 30% increase from 2025. [34:58] And in 2024, we also saw an increase leading up to 2025. [35:03] So we're really happy to see that people are excited to see Rick Fest come back summer after summer. [35:10] And this year, we really expected to go even more. [35:14] We are proud to be working with local craft brewers, including Slaftown Brewery, and Second Wedge Brewery, [35:21] helping keep the economic impact local. [35:26] Fest features award winning rib teams, food vendors, live entertainment throughout the weekend, [35:32] a safe and well managed site with professional security and first aid, [35:37] responsible alcohol service and compliance with the AGCO and municipal requirements, [35:43] and clear operational planning aligned with all municipal standards. [35:48] Our team has a proven track record of delivering professionally run festivals across Ontario. [35:54] We work closely with municipal staff, emergency services, and local stakeholders to ensure a safe, respectful, [36:02] and well organized event to take place at Elgin Park for residents and visitors from all over. [36:10] Oxbridge rib fest is designed to be a community positive event, [36:13] bringing families together, supporting local charities and local businesses, [36:17] and showcasing Oxbridge as the destination community. [36:21] Thank you, and I'm happy to answer any questions. [36:28] Yeah, Ricky, just a quick one from me first. [36:31] The 25th anniversary for the hospital, that you donated that in 2025, [36:36] is that to make up for something in the past? [36:40] In the past, we weren't able to donate because we didn't reach, you know, a level of profit. [36:45] And like we mentioned, we were waiting for the event to, you know, reach that level, [36:49] and in 2025, we were able to donate to the hospital, yes. [36:55] Okay, and we expect that number to grow moving forward. [36:57] Now that we've had established infrastructure, we've established a weekend, [37:02] and with the growth and numbers, we expect that number to grow. [37:10] I'm going to bring Courtney up to see if she has any questions for you. [37:14] I know there was some, this, oh, yeah, go ahead. [37:18] Will he first, and then we'll bring up Courtney? [37:20] Thank you, Mayor Dave, three years to Rick Rick. [37:23] Thank you for coming joining us online today on this. [37:26] I did have a question to similar to Mayor Dave's with regards to the 2500. [37:31] So he had mentioned $6,000 provided locally to charitable groups, [37:36] the remaining 3,500 who did that go to if you could share, please. [37:42] Went to Vaughn Rebels and Football Ontario. [37:47] So we had local football players from the York and Durham region come out to help balance here throughout the weekend. [37:54] And so we donated to their organizations as well. [37:58] So you're referencing local, York, Vaughn Rebels. [38:04] I guess you could justify that a bit. [38:07] Football Ontario is a little more of a province wide. [38:11] If you can, you know, if agreed to with this year, perhaps you can look at something a little more local, [38:18] councils pretty, and we appreciate, obviously, appreciate the slab town. [38:25] And second wedge, support for sure. [38:29] We love to keep as much as we can within our communities. [38:32] And I do know that football was a passion for you. [38:35] Oxford secondary school recently brought a new football team in, you know, [38:40] if you can look at to that as a possible one or something, again, something more local. [38:45] If approved, I think council would greatly appreciate that. [38:49] Thank you. [38:52] You're welcome enough. I can just add on that. [38:54] We did have several players that live in Oxford, volunteer through football programs. [39:00] I know that Oxford hasn't had a football program until recently, which is great. [39:06] And we're trying to through York region programs and other football programs help develop and bring football back to the area. [39:16] We hope to be part of that expansion. [39:19] We did have over 30 football players over the weekend. [39:23] Some resided in Oxford. [39:25] Some live just outside the area. [39:27] But the ones that do live in Oxford have to drive outside the area to go find competitive football. [39:33] So I think through this partnership, we're able to help them drive the program and expand it more locally. [39:41] We do intend on working with the Uxbridge football program. [39:45] We're able to help them in the field. [39:47] There's still facing some growth challenges right now. [39:49] So hopefully this year, we could designate the football funds more to that high school football program. [39:56] Opposed to more regional. [39:59] And thank you for more clarity on the support for local area. [40:03] Football players are appreciated. [40:05] I didn't see any of that within your report. [40:07] So that's why meetings like this are important. [40:11] Okay. Go to Bruce. Go ahead. [40:13] Thanks, Ricky. [40:14] I'm just made a reference there to some of the football players of a volunteer in their time. [40:18] Are your donations contingent on participation of volunteers? [40:23] Through your worship. [40:28] Councillor. [40:29] It's not 100% contingent, but it definitely helps to make the events successful. [40:36] If we do have a number of volunteers, we wouldn't be able to run the event. [40:41] Like most festivals without a handful of volunteers. [40:45] So in our partnership talks with these organizations, they're aware that they provide a set [40:51] that out of volunteers per day and per shift. [40:55] You know, whether they're going to be helping, you know, the general cleanup or helping in our kids area. [41:01] And it also provides them with community service hours. [41:05] It gives them life building skills to be a part of the festival. [41:09] So I think we found a really good winning recipe when it comes to partnering with local organizations [41:15] and then also providing us with volunteers. [41:18] I appreciate that. [41:20] A little concern of how that will work for our hospital foundation. [41:24] That's our number one priority project in town. [41:27] Again, this year, they only have a staff of three. [41:33] So it's going to be really challenging for them to provide volunteers in order to get a donation from this being hosted in our community. [41:43] So a little concern if it's contingent on their participation for you to support the hospital. [41:52] Bruce, just updated a second ago. [41:56] Hospital foundation do not want to be associated with this event again. [42:00] Oh, I see. Okay. [42:02] Yeah, because I think there was some challenges with the use of the logo in the past, so like that. [42:06] Yeah, so again, just Ricky. [42:09] I've heard several concerns from community groups from our internal staff about how interactions went with your group. [42:21] A little bit concerned before we step into another year of this. [42:26] I'm going to want to hear from our staff in a report on whether this makes sense for Uxperger not. [42:34] We. [42:37] We want to make we we like we love that their community events happening in our in Algan Park. [42:44] We just want to make sure it's it's a benefit to the community and you know, we love we love football. [42:50] We love Uxperger Tigers football. [42:53] So getting 30 people from. [42:56] From across York and Durham region as volunteers and then giving them $100 each to to to work for the weekend. [43:04] I don't know if that to me if that. [43:09] Is huge community benefit or not. [43:12] Anyway, first go ahead. [43:16] So any any other questions. [43:21] Um, quarter, you okay if we give you a a refer to staff on this. [43:26] Yep, that works. [43:27] I did. [43:28] Yeah, I got some notes from last year. [43:30] We always follow up with events on internally just to make sure how it went and how much time we invested in events. [43:36] So I have all that information and I could put it in a report and send it back to council. [43:41] I think that's probably the best with with the recommendation. [43:44] So with the recommendation on whether this makes sense for Uxperger not sounds good. [43:49] And do you want to get want to give me that to refer this back. [43:52] I'll I'll give you that motion and if you'll allow a friendly Mr. Mayor. [43:56] Um, through you to to Courtney just a piece around everything that is happening that weekend. [44:01] I know another piece was. [44:03] Um, other scheduled events that that are quite important to experts like Springtide looks like those two do not overlap this weekend. [44:11] But just being mindful of congestion and other opportunities. [44:15] So if we could confirm with maybe Joanne and Joanne or whoever would be on everything that's happening around that weekend. [44:22] Okay. [44:23] Yeah, that makes sense. [44:24] Including BIA events and you'll anything else that is highlighting really our local businesses, especially this year. [44:33] You look like you want to say something. [44:35] Oh, sorry. [44:37] Thank you, Mayor Dave. [44:38] Just looking for I guess this one's through you to you. [44:42] That that was funny. [44:45] With regards to Courtney's report, are you expecting feedback through away from Courtney or are you looking for an action between ripfest and Courtney as well? [44:55] Just trying to set the table for, you know, a well rounded report. [45:00] What were your thoughts? I think we will leave that up to staff on whether they have questions for, for, um, just second Ontario, Ontario events, a festival group. So just, if they have, if they need clarification, then that works too. Great. Thank you. [45:20] And then, first, you know, just one last one and look to the my colleagues that are on the BIA and with Councillor Pickler and I beside me. [45:28] I love the idea of drawing in hundreds of people in the town, not so happy about drawing them out of our local restaurants. [45:36] So I'm just thinking as part of your report court maybe check in with the BIA members or council members who are most appropriate just to get their sense. [45:45] I may be reading too much into it or it could empty the restaurants. I'm not sure, but I think it'd be nice to include them in that discussion. [45:53] I agree 100%. If, uh, if, as part of the refer to staff, if we could have a comment from the BIA, that'd be good. [46:01] We can walk that on to our evening agenda tonight. I'll go do that. Okay. Sounds good. Go ahead. [46:08] Just in, in interest of Mr. Brooks, he's going to want to get a good idea of where things are at. Do we have a timeline on when we can expect to have a staff report come back on the opportunity? [46:20] Court 30 days is that I know you like a few weeks. So just because I have to touch base with other departments and get the information to gather it all together a few weeks would probably be necessary. [46:32] And your title is also public works, right? You guys busy right now? Pretty busy. Fair enough. Okay. So I think that's pretty clear. Ricky, that's clear to you. [46:44] Yeah, that's fine. Okay. Thank you. All in favor of that motion. Oh, so moved by Willie second and by Z. Okay. All in favor? That's Karen. Thank you very much. [46:56] Thank you. All right. Next. We are. [47:00] We have minutes from January the 13th. Can I get the move for that? Is that Todd? Okay. All in favor? That's Karen. [47:12] Next, we've got some correspondence. Do we want to link any of these? [47:18] Oh, glad. Oh, we take it. Meredith. So these are the type of correspondents that sometimes they don't have a lot of connection to the course of business here in Township, Oxford. [47:28] I'd like to see them packaged up in the future, or maybe a council information package, and then if anybody's interested, you could pull individuals. [47:34] We're not quite there yet, so if if everybody's comfortable, I would move to receive a 1, 8, 2, and 8, 3. [47:42] Anyone want to second that? Is that a good to second? Any questions or comments on any of those? Okay. On favor? That's Karen. [47:50] Let's go with 8.4. This is from an amazing member of our Oxford Scouts. She had me speak to one of our classrooms as part of a class project. [48:01] Just a really interesting individual with so much passion. What would you like to do with us? [48:07] Go ahead. Thank you, Meredith. [48:09] Myself, Jamie Miller, with Parks, and Colleen Bask, and I've been working with Scouts and Keyon on this for some time now. [48:17] And they come to us annually with regards to their jamboree. So they do a little bit of a hike. They end up a different level of different distances for different groups. [48:28] The Scouts come to us, usually with this ask in advance. So this is similar that way. Keyon is doing this because she's also looking right now to quite an achievement that she's trying to make, and that's the King's Ventura Award. [48:44] So she's a very, as you're aware, a very promising young individual, very focused and driven mature beyond her years and a pleasure to work with. [48:55] With that in mind, I'd like to support and principal have her continue to work with staff and receive her, obviously, receive her correspondence. [49:05] She would have liked to have been here today. She probably still could have been given I'm guessing the school was probably close, but she did have an exam that conflicted with this timeline. [49:13] So she wanted to come and present but was unable to to two other commitments. [49:19] Okay. That sounds good. [49:24] Right. So with that, we don't need to report back. [49:31] I don't think so. It's, you know, they have done the jamboree annually. They're just looking for permission to, you know, as usual use, [49:39] township property, including Elgin Park. So that's what they're just coming in to make sure that council blesses this moving forward and that we're okay with them doing this. [49:49] It's not, you know, and sometimes it's hopeful that, you know, scouts get a little bit of support through the media that they continue to be great supporters of our community and builders of future leaders within the township. [50:01] I love it. I just, just in case they want to have a campfire, can you also add that to your motion that that we, we permit that through Park staff as long as it's approved. [50:12] And then just before we go further, just huge thank you to all the leaders, including Craig Marladers, well, you obviously the most visible one that we see. [50:22] The guy is amazing. He steps up in huge ways whether it's with the park or with his programs at the high school or with was remembered today. [50:30] Just show to Craig for what he does for our community, and especially with some of the young scouts. [50:36] And, and to your point, Mayor Dave, focusing forward in February, there is a youth event, though, that will take place at Uxbridge Secondary School. [50:43] And, you know, they continue to, to bring our, you know, our youth forward in great ways. So 100% agree with you. [50:50] Okay, you're, you're good with the friendly. Absolutely. [50:53] And your seconder. Who is the seconder? That is happy with the, that as well. Okay. On forever. [50:58] That's carried. Thank you very much. [51:00] All right. Next we are into 11.1. This is AC 0126 from Hillary. Hillary is out on the road today. So she can't be here to take questions, but are there any? [51:15] And we can direct them to probably Christie. [51:20] Oh, yeah, go ahead, Todd. Yeah, just one question, but comment first, just great to see a $25,000 revenue increase from the previous year. [51:30] Within this section of the organizations. That's great. [51:34] I just had a quick question in regards to the sale of the dog tags. [51:38] It's indicating that Skugog sold more in 2025 than in 2024. However, the revenue is less. [51:45] So I, I just wasn't wondering how that could be. Is there different price based on the type of dog? I didn't think it was. [51:53] Great question. Councilor Snowx. I would have to take that back. [51:56] It might just be a quick type of error. [51:58] Could be. Yeah. [52:01] Okay. [52:02] First, go ahead. [52:03] Thanks, Verde. I think I'll just repeat a comment that I've made in the past that Skugog has had 35% more dogs than Oxbridge. [52:13] More than 100% more cats than Oxbridge. [52:16] Lower dog tag sales to Councilor Snowx's point a second ago. [52:22] I yet the cost share remains 50, 50. [52:25] I know some of you are looking at me going. Yeah, we know, Verde. [52:28] She brought this up before because it continues to happen. [52:31] So there's more to it. I get it. There's patrol hours in there. I'm not trying to make this to one sided. [52:37] I'm, I'll make the motion to receive the report. [52:41] But I will say I'm going to have a discussion with clerk in the room to say, [52:46] as we go into the agreement for the new shelter, is this the proper agreement? [52:51] Should it continue to be 50, 50? [52:53] And should we be looking at other ways of dividing up those costs? [52:59] It just does not seem, continues to not seem balanced to me. [53:03] I think a discussion worth having internally as well. [53:06] Yeah, I agree. I don't think it's going to be done by thinking it should probably go to Christie. [53:12] That's fine. It's just a discussion at this point. [53:14] So I'm happy to have it with Christie and to see just what makes sense. [53:18] I'm not a conference specific action yet. Just want to generate that conversation. [53:22] Especially as we're going into this, this other project, right? [53:25] So just to make sure it's fair and long term. [53:28] Pam, go ahead. [53:29] I agree with Bruce, as I was reading, I'm going, this is happening year after year. [53:34] We're all the numbers, you know, like our costs aren't as much as what the costs would be going to them. [53:44] It just seems in balance, like Bruce said, so it's worth a good discussion. [53:50] I agree, 100%. Oh, go ahead. [53:53] Thank you, Mayor Dave. I'll triple down on it. [53:56] I think it's always positive to re-evaluate your partnerships after a period of time, [54:00] especially when we're going into a new bill of facility that [54:04] not gunwood should be opening up near the end of this year. [54:07] We definitely want to make sure our partnerships are equitable for group groups. [54:11] And I think it's positive. [54:13] The slant might raise an eyebrow, but I think we're looking at it in totality. [54:18] So just the fact that we're looking at, you know, in equity and animals being serviced. [54:23] I think we can look at it from the top down first and just say this is, you know, [54:27] let's look at the report. [54:29] I mean, because it is also largely our staff that are managing it on their behalf. [54:33] I think it's worthwhile to understand this moving forward. [54:38] So it's a healthy exercise. [54:41] Okay, we have a comment from Deborah. [54:43] Go ahead, Deb. [54:44] Through you, Mayor Dave. [54:46] Just a clarification. [54:48] And I can appreciate the comments received by Council and certainly that's something we can look at. [54:52] But I just wanted to provide clarification in terms, [54:55] because there was a mention of the dog-tag licenses being down for Skugog. [55:00] That's no reflection on the budget. [55:03] The dog-tag license sales are completely separate. [55:06] So just as a note and clarification on that, that would not impact us one way or the other [55:12] in terms of the dog's tag sales. [55:15] So that part of the revenue is not shared between the municipalities. [55:20] That's correct. [55:21] Okay. [55:22] Thanks. [55:23] Is that clear? [55:24] Just another thing to it. [55:25] I mean, there might be an opportunity for improvement or continuous improvement. [55:32] Given that we manage our building and our animal control, [55:36] I think we probably get a lot more out to the community than perhaps there's does. [55:40] So that might be one of the pieces we look to as well as an opportunity for improvement to make sure. [55:46] And that might also be why, you know, potentially some of the dog tags or lesson is that it's not as much [55:53] of a community awareness. [55:55] So something to consider. [55:57] Yeah. [55:58] Thanks for that. [55:59] Any. [56:00] So Bruce has a motion seconded by Pam. [56:05] I think I think you don't need any other friendlies and that you're good. [56:09] Okay. [56:10] All in favor of Bruce's motion. [56:12] That is carried. [56:14] Okay. [56:15] Next we are. [56:16] 11.2 BL0126 from Hillary. [56:21] This is just in general by law. [56:25] What would you like to do with this one? [56:27] Oh, sorry. [56:28] Well, I go ahead. [56:29] No problem, Mary Dave. [56:30] It came up last time we had this, but we kind of bundled a few pieces together on one. [56:35] Hillary provided a similar report. [56:38] And what I wanted to say was, what a phenomenal clearing rate. [56:42] Like if you look at that, there's with all of that they're doing. [56:45] And the fact that they're still able to closely. [56:47] So Kudos to Hillary and and obviously leadership from CAO honey. [56:52] But this is, you know, and Scott and the team. [56:55] This is a remarkable number that they're clearing as well as balancing out. [57:00] Especially when we look at what we're doing for improvement. [57:03] Trying to get, you know, the. [57:05] The provincial offenses more looked after here. [57:10] Kudos to by law. [57:12] If there's not further comments, I'll give a motion to support the recommendation. [57:16] Sounds good. [57:17] Pam's going to second. [57:18] Any questions or comments? [57:19] Good. [57:20] Again, again, just a really quick one. [57:22] They did highlight the number. [57:25] Very high number in May for the sign by laws. [57:28] Was there something specific in May that caused that 107 complaints? [57:34] I don't know. [57:36] No. [57:37] No, that would have been after. [57:40] It just seemed like it was it was a substantial number for one month. [57:44] Yeah, I wonder if it's those it might be those. [57:48] Oh, like all those all those. [57:50] Plastic lawn signs. [57:52] Yeah. [57:53] Which. [57:54] Some of the conditions. [57:55] Yeah. [57:56] I think they may have been ranging from my office and maybe others. [57:59] About how. [58:00] We need to make sure that those. [58:02] Those become contagious right when they're left up for a while. [58:05] It becomes an inexpensive marketing piece. [58:07] So I think there's a few members of council that. [58:10] To get a little aggressive with that sometimes and maybe that. [58:13] So may have been a blitz from our by law during that month. [58:16] Okay. [58:17] Wouldn't surprise me. [58:18] Okay. [58:19] Okay. [58:21] But if you want. [58:23] Christie, can you do want to send that note or. [58:26] To and just see if what that blip was. [58:29] I wouldn't be surprised. [58:31] Okay. [58:32] All right. [58:33] So we have a motion on the floor. [58:34] On favor. [58:36] That is caring. [58:37] Thank you. [58:38] Okay. [58:39] Next for 11.3. [58:40] I think we've done this already. [58:42] Oh, no, we haven't. [58:43] 11.3. [58:44] This is CAO 0 to 26 from Christie. [58:48] I'm going to let you speak to it if that's okay. [58:50] I'm putting you on the spot. [58:52] I hope that's all right. [58:53] No, that's fine. [58:54] So this is the recommendations from our integrity commissioner with regards to the. [59:01] Training motion provided by council as an outcome to the November presentation by our integrity commissioner. [59:10] They'd recommended all council training in order to be mindful of our dollars. [59:16] I'm suggesting that we embedded into our orientation training after the next election and that the integrity commissioner. [59:25] Meet one on one with councilor's next. [59:29] Yeah. [59:30] Any questions or comments on that motion? [59:32] I'm sorry on that report. [59:35] Any recommendations? [59:39] So I want to move their recommendations. [59:44] Okay. [59:45] So we'll, we'll, we'll by, we'll by court seconded by Bruce. [59:50] Okay. [59:53] Thank you. [59:54] Thank you for doing this. [59:56] I'm sorry. [59:57] What's the cost of that again? [59:59] So I just. [1:00:00] Over 1700. And that's 70%. If the commissioner does one for council, or does one with council structure? [1:00:08] So it'll be 3,500 in total. So 17, just over 17, for the one on one. And then they'll embed it into the orientation, which will be again, an additional 17, I think, 17, five. I don't have the report in front of you, but. [1:00:23] Okay. And so, and what's the total, do you know the total cost then for this so far? [1:00:28] I would have to get back to you on that. Okay. But we have budget. [1:00:34] We will use our council orientation budget and the training budget out of the corporate, the corporate budget. [1:00:43] Okay. Any additional questions or comments? [1:00:46] Okay. [1:00:48] Just I guess this one might be, I think, depth online. It's through you to depth. So is this. [1:00:55] I guess the orientation one would be a public meeting. [1:00:58] Or is it a private? I think before we did a private education session. [1:01:02] Yeah. So, but I think I'm just trying to remember. I think in the past it was private. [1:01:07] Or closed door or I just can't remember. [1:01:11] Yeah. It's typically when we get into this kind of training. You may recall. We shared the last one with. [1:01:19] Brock township as well. [1:01:21] When we did the integrity commissioner training. So typically it is a close session. [1:01:26] Yes. [1:01:27] Great. Thank you. [1:01:29] All right. [1:01:30] Any additional questions or comments? [1:01:33] All in favor of the motion. Okay. That's carried. Thank you. [1:01:37] Okay. Next, we are 11.4, which we've already done. We're 11.5. [1:01:42] This is from Councillor Garrett about our participation at Roma. [1:01:50] No, first. Thanks for doing it. Appreciate you highlighting it. [1:01:55] I'll do one more for Amo that I'll pass the torch and someone else can do these if you want to continue to do it. [1:02:01] Okay. Sounds good. [1:02:03] Can we get a motion on this? [1:02:07] Okay. [1:02:10] Seconded by guard. [1:02:12] Just while we're doing this, thanks to our communications team. [1:02:16] It is an enormous amount of work to build the presentation material for this. [1:02:21] It's an enormous amount of work to coordinate sort of what's in my head and the heads of council on what we want to communicate. [1:02:32] Get the delegations, communicate back and forth with them. [1:02:35] Our team are amazing. [1:02:37] And again, well, we're all running in a thousand miles an hour. [1:02:40] They have to think, you know, two months out for these. [1:02:43] And what we want to talk about in two months. [1:02:45] So thanks to the team for doing that. We appreciate it. [1:02:47] And thanks for those who participate. [1:02:49] Okay. [1:02:50] And we have a mover and a seconder. [1:02:52] All in favor. [1:02:53] That's carried. Thank you. [1:02:55] Okay. Next, we're 11.6. [1:02:58] This is from Councillor Schrieve and Bill Reiner about gravel conversion. [1:03:07] Yeah, go ahead. [1:03:09] What do we like, Gordon, speak to at first? [1:03:13] Yeah, thank you, Mayor. [1:03:14] Yeah, and working very closely with Bill and public works. [1:03:21] And looking at what would be the best use of resources for the coming three years in terms of [1:03:26] the gravel conversions. [1:03:28] So I have a pretty good idea as I travel throughout the war [1:03:31] It has to, what the condition of the roads are. [1:03:34] The use, the use of the roads and those kind of things. [1:03:37] And so in this case, the completion of the raven shoe or the fifth [1:03:42] Concession south of raven shoe will, will tie in with the, let's see [1:03:49] There are 20 or so houses south on the paved section of the road. [1:03:53] This will complete the project. [1:03:55] So the residents traveling to and from their homes will have a, have a safer road [1:04:00] in a hard surface over three years. [1:04:02] That's just a little bit about that in the same process with Myers Road. [1:04:06] Just, just a question with, with hard surface between two regional roads, [1:04:14] we might run into traffic issues. [1:04:17] Are you prepared for that? [1:04:19] Just with like a significant increase in traffic? [1:04:23] So do you guys have any comments on that? [1:04:27] Because I think we do have a lot of residents from the area saying that they want one [1:04:32] That as well. [1:04:33] Okay. [1:04:34] Fair enough. [1:04:35] Just with that, with every move, there's another reaction. [1:04:39] Go ahead. [1:04:40] That is a good observation that the region is going to be working on zephyr road. [1:04:44] So kind of bringing these two roads up to hard surface standards [1:04:49] As soon as we can, would be beneficial because we all know people will always [1:04:54] Take the shortest cut around the closure. [1:04:57] Myers Road and the fifth will probably see the most traffic from that. [1:05:02] So we are going to have to work around the extra traffic when we're laying the gravel. [1:05:07] But I think it's going to be very beneficial at the end of the day. [1:05:11] Okay. [1:05:12] I just wanted to highlight that one piece. [1:05:14] That's all. [1:05:15] Will it go ahead? [1:05:16] Yeah. [1:05:17] Thank you. [1:05:18] I'm just going to say, and that's a good point in a great ask. [1:05:21] I wouldn't, whenever possible, we've done a good job here through Ben Caster prior. [1:05:27] Now through Courtney and Bill, Bill, you were part of both of them. [1:05:30] They've done a good job of when roads are being done regionally. [1:05:34] We've made the repairs to our roads quicker so that they're not broken up when all of a sudden traffic is [1:05:41] Deverted to other locations. [1:05:43] So this is a great one in Councillor Schrieve. [1:05:45] You've done a good job of communicating and reading your residence well. [1:05:49] So thank you to staff for doing this. [1:05:51] Obviously there's a financial benefit in the future when we heard surface that they're easier to manage. [1:05:57] So, you know, as the chair, I applied to all involved on this for making it happen. [1:06:02] As well as, you know, a potential watch. [1:06:05] So as you look at your residence in the future, you can, you know, specifically say this is one consideration that you have to look at. [1:06:14] Bill, just just a thought on that, especially on the fifth. [1:06:18] Depending on when that closure hits for Zephyr on the bridge, how quickly can we get gravel down? [1:06:25] So it's just not as soupy a mess there. [1:06:28] It's a pretty low lying area on the fifth there. [1:06:31] Once we know that we're going to do this switch, the tender's ready to go out. [1:06:37] So we can get on this just after we do our spring gradient. [1:06:41] Okay, I think that might make sense. [1:06:44] Just to get it done as soon as possible. [1:06:46] Instead of sometimes we wait a little longer in the air. [1:06:49] So this might be a thing to get ahead just to save huge grading issues. [1:06:53] I know the least I wrote piece when we were doing the seventh. [1:06:57] So. [1:07:00] Thank you. [1:07:02] Gordon, thank you for owning this. [1:07:05] From a. [1:07:08] With the movement you know you you thanks for that and. [1:07:13] Move by Gordon second by Willie. [1:07:16] Okay. [1:07:18] Okay, fair enough. [1:07:20] All right. [1:07:21] Any questions or comments on favor. [1:07:23] That's carried. [1:07:24] Thank you very much. [1:07:25] Great. [1:07:26] Next we are 11.7 CL0166 from Deb in regards to. [1:07:33] Oh, lame doc council. [1:07:38] Yeah, do you want to move it? [1:07:41] Okay. [1:07:42] It gives Christy the ability to do. [1:07:46] Anything we need to do during that lame duck period. [1:07:49] We were bitten by that with the old council and the cover. [1:07:52] Right. [1:07:53] So things got to move forward. [1:07:54] Yeah. [1:07:55] So like that was that's one of the reasons why it was very tricky. [1:07:58] And we probably lost. [1:08:00] Four or five months of the color project because of that. [1:08:04] Okay. [1:08:06] Okay. [1:08:07] All in favor. [1:08:08] That's carried. [1:08:09] Thank you. [1:08:10] Okay. [1:08:11] Next we've got by loss. [1:08:14] Go ahead. [1:08:15] By loss requiring three readings of January 2626. [1:08:19] First reading and second reading moved by myself. [1:08:21] Consular Todd Snooks. [1:08:22] Seconded by council. [1:08:23] There is a pickering that leave be granted to introduce by. [1:08:26] The number is 26 dash is zero zero five through to an including zero zero seven. [1:08:31] And the same be read at first and second time. [1:08:34] All in favor. [1:08:35] First and second reading leave be granted for third. [1:08:38] Third reading moved by myself. [1:08:40] Councilor Todd Snook. [1:08:41] Seconded by councilor Z. [1:08:42] Pickering at by loss number 2026 dash zero zero five through to an including zero zero seven. [1:08:47] Be now read a third time. [1:08:48] Finally passed in the Marin Clark duly sign and seal saying. [1:08:51] All in favor. [1:08:52] That is carried. [1:08:54] Next let's jump to unfinished business. [1:08:57] You got an unfinished go ahead. [1:08:59] Yes, surprise. [1:09:00] No sorry to other. [1:09:02] Oh. [1:09:03] It's a matter. [1:09:04] So we'll do we have one on the agenda for other. [1:09:07] Okay. [1:09:08] So that's to the other business that's documented. [1:09:10] It's. [1:09:11] 14.1 from the environment and. [1:09:14] And sustainability advisory committee. [1:09:17] There report there 2025 report to council. [1:09:20] Would you like to thank the committee for all of their efforts and. [1:09:30] And for some of them. [1:09:31] You know, when I think of some of the things they did like the brick never sleeps and the environmental awards. [1:09:37] That really on track with those kind of things and so I appreciate all of their interest in the detail that they've got into the report. [1:09:47] Is a appreciate it. [1:09:48] Thank you for that. [1:09:49] You could make the motion to receive and what do you want to do with it? [1:09:55] I think we just need to make motion to receive it, right? [1:09:59] How would it receive and a letter from you, maybe, as Chair, just to thank them for their report? [1:10:09] Is that okay? [1:10:10] Sure, happy to do that. [1:10:12] Okay, Pam, you're good to second. [1:10:14] Okay. [1:10:15] Would there be a comms piece that we could promote these achievements through the communications officer? [1:10:20] Why don't we also refer to comms to see if they want to do something with it? [1:10:23] Is that okay? [1:10:24] Good. [1:10:25] All right. [1:10:26] Happy with that, Friendly. [1:10:27] Both of you? [1:10:28] Yes. [1:10:29] Okay. [1:10:30] All right. [1:10:31] All in favor? [1:10:32] That is carried. [1:10:33] Thank you. [1:10:34] All right. [1:10:35] Any other other business? [1:10:37] I do. [1:10:38] How do you know where they? [1:10:40] A personal highlight while we're at Romo was the province naming the township of Luxembourg [1:10:46] and H Friendly Community. [1:10:48] One of only 15% of the communities throughout Luxembourg, [1:10:53] but without throughout the province rather, out of 444. [1:10:57] So pretty excited about that. [1:10:59] I was thrilled that David Richardson, who was one of the founding members of H Friendly [1:11:04] and Kathy Thulo, who is the current Chair of H Friendly, [1:11:07] who was the only one to come down and join the celebration. [1:11:09] And it was a fun event and nice that those efforts, especially David who was [1:11:14] carried us through this for seven years now is quite an accomplishment [1:11:19] and just thrilled that he was able to participate. [1:11:21] Some of you may have seen when the province declares communities [1:11:26] silver award winners for gardening, or whatever the provincial award is. [1:11:32] They'll put up signs at their welcome signs. [1:11:35] So, with Council's permission, what I'd like to do is have some signs installed temporarily [1:11:42] at, I'll just say, the four corners. [1:11:43] So, four of the entrances, typically we slide in core-class signs, I'd love to do permanent [1:11:49] ones, but they're $4,000 each, according to the estimates of just two expensive in this [1:11:55] environment. [1:11:56] So, she's volunteered to create the signs. [1:11:59] They would slide in like they would for the fall fair or other events that are taking place. [1:12:03] They'd be temporary, go, they would go up when there's a slot available and come down when [1:12:08] there's not, and probably go back up again another day. [1:12:11] Those signs, she's estimating, is $1,200 each, probably on the low end of that. [1:12:17] And if Council's okay with it, I'd recommend we've got a Council initiative's budget, so [1:12:23] we would take the $4,800 out of that to have it go forward. [1:12:29] I would make a motion to do that. [1:12:31] I've connected to Pam's, and she's the lead on the age-friendly committee now to get her [1:12:39] to second it, and welcome to take any questions. [1:12:41] Oh, go ahead, Todd. [1:12:46] Just a quick one through to Regent Counselor, June is senior for month, is maybe that a good time [1:12:52] for it to go in, specifically? [1:12:53] Yeah, I think if we can get them up, that'd be a great idea, sure, we could do that. [1:12:58] I don't think they'll take long to put up, but the only thing just rethinking at Council [1:13:02] or something is celebrations, tight, timelyness, is of the essence. [1:13:08] So let's just see how fast court can get them created, maybe we'll get something up, and then [1:13:15] you can always redo these things again as part of the tune, so we could do that as well. [1:13:18] That might be a better way to go if you're okay with that. [1:13:20] Okay. [1:13:21] Just so I mention that. [1:13:22] Thank you. [1:13:23] All right, so we have a motion to floor. [1:13:27] All in favor? [1:13:29] That's carried. [1:13:30] Thank you very much. [1:13:31] All right, is there any other other business? [1:13:33] Will it go ahead? [1:13:34] It's funny, I guess, we're all reminiscing about Roma. [1:13:39] Councillor Pickering and I had an open moment on lunch where we attended a lunch and [1:13:46] learn around emergency preparedness, specifically around, you know, the hydro side of things. [1:13:52] And Mayor Dave, you've been very close to emergency preparedness with the minister in that [1:13:57] area. [1:13:58] But I thought it was interesting because we often get calls as soon as power goes off what's [1:14:03] going on and what's the timelines. [1:14:05] So I thought I would share just as I thought it was helpful. [1:14:09] The first one that goes out is typically how long an outage would take given what's wrong at [1:14:16] this point in time. [1:14:17] So that's the first one you get within the first hour or so. [1:14:20] The other thing that they said that was interesting was one woman waited like a day before [1:14:25] she called in. [1:14:27] So the hydro companies don't know necessarily when there is an outage specifically at times. [1:14:33] So you should always call in when you have an outage or at least check the website to see [1:14:37] for your area what's going on. [1:14:39] So jumping back to the first one, the first one is an estimated time of repair to whatever's [1:14:45] going on. [1:14:46] The second one is there's boots on the ground. [1:14:48] This is what's going on in the area and this is the real potential timeline for then [1:14:53] when that should be repaired. [1:14:55] So as counselors I thought it was worthwhile to bring it back here, share with you all. [1:15:00] That this is what they are as it goes out, because we often get these calls around what's happening [1:15:04] with our, with our electricity when we do have that unfortunate incident. [1:15:09] Yeah. [1:15:10] Thanks for that. [1:15:13] Go ahead, Pam. [1:15:14] I think most residents, excuse me, most residents should have that app for Hydro-Wunner, whichever [1:15:21] Hydro-Services app, excuse me, but I find it vital, because they know that they [1:15:29] will find me, you know, if it's back on, if it's not, let them know again, you know, [1:15:36] it's such a useful tool and we should all be using it. [1:15:41] Thank you. [1:15:42] Okay. [1:15:44] Any other other business? Any questions for the press? Mr. Verley, go ahead, sir. [1:15:53] Thank you, Mr. Mayor. [1:15:56] I'm not sure if this question will be allowed, but I was wondering if Courtney could provide [1:16:01] any interesting statistics regarding snow in Oxford's this year and the snow removal. [1:16:09] Have we had any records, right, and like that? [1:16:14] Court is maybe on, but Court, do you want to provide Roger, would you mind if we, if we prepared [1:16:23] something that like with some stats or something, is that what you want? [1:16:28] Oh, absolutely. [1:16:31] I just have this feeling that the township has probably cleared more, more kilometres of road [1:16:39] this winter than they have in the past. [1:16:41] I don't know where you're putting the snow. [1:16:44] There must be some kind of records here, I'm quite sure, but I'm sure the residents of the township [1:16:50] would like to know just what they've been under last couple of months. [1:16:53] Well, yeah, and especially when you think of the, get it, wasn't only snow, right? [1:16:58] You think of all the ice. [1:17:00] So I think the best gauge of our winter performance would be year to date hours. [1:17:05] That might be year to date hours of service might be the best one. [1:17:10] But how about this? [1:17:12] We'll get something out to you through comms in the next. [1:17:18] They're busy right now, maybe the next 24 hours. [1:17:20] Does that give you enough time? [1:17:22] 24 hours that, that should work. [1:17:25] Okay. [1:17:26] Good work. [1:17:27] Thank you, Mr. May. [1:17:28] No problem. [1:17:29] Anything else? [1:17:30] No, that's it. [1:17:31] Thank you. [1:17:32] Okay. [1:17:33] Any other questions for the press and or the public? [1:17:36] All right. [1:17:38] We do have it in camera agenda. [1:17:41] Can I get a motion to move in the camera? [1:17:44] Move by Todd saying that by Bruce. [1:17:46] All in favor? [1:17:47] That's carried.
