Everybody's accounted for? [0:15] Aaron's here. [0:17] All right, good. [0:18] Thank you. [0:19] All right, pledges, please. [0:25] I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. [0:29] And to the Republic, for which stands one nation under God, [0:34] indivisible with liberty and justice for all, [0:38] honor the sexess flag. [0:40] I pledge allegiance to the taxes one state under God, one and indivisible. [0:47] We [0:55] don't have anybody here to speak, huh? [1:00] All right, everybody have a look at the minutes [1:02] from the March 2nd meeting. [1:19] You have something about the minutes? [1:21] Yes. Okay. [1:23] Regular agenda D 2. [1:28] Point 2. [1:30] But Aaron Lynch. [1:32] I think it's Aaron Lynch. [1:37] No problem. [1:38] I think you think it is. [1:57] Anybody see anything else what needs it? Aaron Lynch again. Oh, turn the pair. [2:03] Yeah, adjourn. Aaron Lynn, okay. No problem. Thank you. You're fine. It's probably auto [2:11] correct. It's all correct. It [2:35] is. Oh, I'll do that. Please do Mr. On. I'd like to make a motion [2:41] to approve the minutes of March 2nd, 2026. [2:45] Thank you. [2:46] Who will second? [2:47] My second. [2:48] Thank you, Debbie. [2:49] All in favor? [2:51] What if I said no? [2:53] You're out. [2:55] Mr. Lynch. [2:58] The glitch. [3:00] The glitch. [3:01] The glitch. [3:01] Okay. [3:04] Main Street Committee updates. [3:05] I'll see any activities on this agenda. [3:11] Can we talk about them? [3:15] Monning cloud and Easter account and reviewing all of that. [3:22] Okay, that can go under, staff report. [3:26] Okay, [3:28] all right, so Promotions Committee. [3:31] So Promotions Committee, we're planning on having a meeting the third or [3:35] fourth week of April. [3:37] We're going to meet with Wendy Atkins. [3:42] And I've reviewed the recommendations from the Promotions Committee with her. [3:46] And she's going to want to meet the committee in person and then talk with them over the recommendations, and I think she's also got a little Wendy, is it putting yet? [4:00] Yes, that can just. And she wants to give us a preview of a new proposed logos. So anyway, we'll see. [4:14] Cool. [4:18] Anything else? Wonderful. Design committee. [4:24] My group is still just sort of waiting [4:26] so we made a couple of proposals and everything was just sitting there. [4:35] And we're simply [4:37] waiting for further news, further guidance and direction or approval. [4:46] or approval. [4:57] Okay. [4:57] Any number? [5:00] Yes. [5:03] I just want to clarify. [5:04] I just want to clarify. [5:05] I just want to clarify. [5:06] Okay. [5:11] Fast meeting, guys. [5:12] One on E. [5:14] That's you. [5:15] That's what we did this take. [5:18] Okay. [5:19] So in your packet, you have our Main Street report that February 26. [5:24] this same information is provided to our city council. [5:29] So you know, Wendy was she does the multimedia content [5:32] stuff which is also in here. [5:34] But I started providing this that's just specific to [5:37] Main Street for our city council and then of course it [5:39] will go before you guys as well. [5:41] It just sort of gives you a what are we working on, [5:43] what's going on sort of thing. [5:46] So you'll see key meetings. [5:47] We had our event committee meeting, [5:49] February 2st, Main Street Board, obviously. We all met on the 2nd of February as well. And then I met I had a downtown merchant's meeting on February 23rd. [6:00] Top one of the month. [6:02] So what's the feedback from the emergency meeting? [6:05] So it was very sparse. There was like maybe six of us total. There were just lots of people out with illness and different things. [6:13] So there really wasn't a whole lot of discussion. [6:15] I basically just gave them a kind of a synopsis of what was happening with the flower festival planning. [6:22] And that was kind of the whole just of the meeting. [6:24] Who was there who would actually be there? [6:27] I don't have my notes for that. [6:30] Let me think about who it was. [6:32] How do you where you at that one? [6:33] No, you wouldn't have been there. [6:35] That was not a big one. [6:36] What about who was there? [6:40] So we are still meeting with the merchants. [6:42] So the events committee was a way to meet with the merchants. [6:46] No, the events committee is separate. [6:49] So the events committee. [6:50] Because I thought the merchants were pushed. [6:52] There are several that are on the committee that are also merchants. [6:57] So like Gretchen counts is on there. [7:02] Bobby, Jesick, and Michelle Stahlings. [7:07] So they're all merchants, but they're also on the event committee. [7:14] The modal latte owners are part of both of those, but they have not attended either of them. [7:25] Lori Trevizo is obviously both as well. [7:31] I think who else is on there? [7:34] Oh yes, Kaylee Rice was star bright. She can do both. [7:42] Tabitha Tepper is not a merchant, but she is on the event committee. [7:53] So the events committee does have a lot of merchants. Seems like mostly merchants. How many people do we have at the event in the events committee? [8:02] there's nine total nine. [8:04] We've already started on those. [8:07] The Main Street Board did. [8:09] Yeah, we've added it on those. [8:11] It was applied. [8:13] It was an application and they applied and we've added on them. [8:16] But mostly it's merchants. [8:18] It's looking. [8:19] It is majority of merchants. [8:21] And then we also have now the merchants meeting. [8:23] Because that's where I got confused last time. [8:25] I thought we were pushing that over to the merchants. [8:28] So that kind of took place of the merchants meeting. [8:31] So the downtown merchants meeting is held quarterly and it's an opportunity for us as a city to let them know kind of things that are going on [8:40] That would affect them and then in turn. They also can let us know things that are happening in their shops or in their businesses [8:48] If they have something coming up that they want to make us aware of or even if there's difficulties or something that they're coming up against [8:56] That's a time for them to be able to share that with us as well and then the events committing needs [9:01] just once a month. And actually, we didn't meet in March, so, but we're meeting at the end of this month. [9:15] The top one of the month as you'll see is we confirmed the Ninja Project obstacle course. [9:20] There is a Ninja Warrior, a former Ninja Warrior participant who, that's his business now, is he takes these obstacle courses throughout the Metroplex for events and things. [9:30] you can run on for all kinds of stuff. [9:33] And so that's actually going to be part of our kids' own [9:35] for Bonnie and Clyde this year. [9:38] OK, well, so speaking of kids, word on the street [9:42] is that we've gotten rid of our soapbox, do we? [9:45] Yes. [9:46] So again, like I said at the meeting last time, [9:50] we're making changes big changes to events [9:52] without talking to the board. [9:54] We were just so getting rid of that was part. [9:57] So that was discussed whenever we did our presentation [9:59] about events this year. We discussed that previously about needing to move the [10:06] moving the kids down over by the ice house and eliminating that section of [10:10] road closures so that we have more parking. [10:13] So that was a clear leave. [10:15] Because I'm thinking of the event being moved from to the nine, you look at the time [10:21] saying through the box. Because that's not really the one. [10:24] That may be true but nobody distinctly made that clear to our board at [10:30] that we were going to mix, something that was in part of the event. [10:35] In my opinion, and I have one, it's not so much about the derby, it's about the people [10:42] running it, and what brought it here to begin with. [10:45] It's been going on for a long time. [10:48] The Cabinet Makers Association started it. [10:51] There are number one employers in town. [10:54] Chandler took it over from them, and did it for many, many years, their employees, their [11:00] friends, their families, built the cars, that the Masonic Lodge has. The Masonic [11:08] Lodge is a fundraising organization that gives money to children, [11:15] and it kind of [11:24] like this is continuing to happen that decisions are being made. [11:27] And then we come up and read these papers and do the thing. [11:31] And then we don't matter. [11:33] We don't matter. [11:33] Like you're saying that we've discussed it, but we never discussed it. [11:36] We talked about maybe the road closure. [11:39] We talked about the change of the event, which you guys told us after the fact [11:43] we didn't hear about it in a way that we were in any way partying to making a decision [11:48] about changing the event time. [11:49] So I just, I'm having a little bit of frustration like I mentioned at the last meeting that it seems like every time we make some kind of progress and being involved and getting engaged as a board. [12:05] Then there's a shuffling of papers and then we get a new thing that's put in front of us as a way of just [12:12] I'm sconding any kind of real information that we can be useful to the panel. [12:18] I do feel like it's kind of, you just want us to come in on a Monday night for 30 minutes [12:25] to just go, okay, great. [12:27] And I'm not interested in being on a board like that. [12:30] I'm here to be engaged. [12:32] I'm here to offer expertise of my professional background. [12:36] I'm here to be a citizen that wants to show up for my town. [12:41] And we've learned from the Texas Main Street Association, we've learned from our counterpartum [12:48] Solina that our board does have the ability to help, does have the power, that's what she [12:55] used, the word, and I, it's not about power, but it's about the fact that we're here, we're [13:00] doing this, and we seem to get somewhere, and then it seems like, and it's again, not [13:06] focus in this just on you guys. [13:09] It seems like the nature of the city [13:12] is to shuffle some papers and keep us just on the wheel. [13:19] White-cated, keep us on the wheel. [13:21] Yeah, on the wheel and we're just here to sign off on decisions [13:26] whenever we're supposed to be deciding these things. [13:28] We're supposed to be discussing them. [13:32] The committees and everything are great, [13:34] but it seems like the committees are now being used [13:38] in multiple lanes to tell us information, [13:46] but like in a three-card monti, like this committee [13:50] approved it, and this committee approved it, [13:53] but when you talk to the committee members, [13:54] they go, well, they just showed us [13:56] what they're already doing and we said great. [13:59] That's not an approval. [14:01] And I just feel like we're kind of still moving [14:04] in that direction. Big changes are being made to our events, like the time frame, like getting [14:10] rid of a very integral part of the event itself, adding a whole another part of the event [14:18] that may or may not match up with the event. Those things I feel like are supposed to be talked [14:24] about as a board and disgust and decided in here, [14:28] not presented and then like even not presented. [14:34] Yeah, like it was something that I was very after the [14:37] decision was made and that is something I don't know. [14:41] It's frustrating because I feel like we don't matter. [14:45] I would rather have my Mondays back, you know? [14:48] And I feel like it's being done on purpose. [14:50] I feel like Texas Main Street and Solina Main Street Head Coordinator, Main Street Director, [14:58] told us we are at... [15:00] Just as we part of it. And we're being told by pilot point, none of it will look over here. This person approved it. So I don't have questions. [15:13] At this moment in time, is it possible to bring back the soapbox derby? I mean, is it dead and gone? Or has it just been [15:28] sideline? [15:29] You know what I'm getting at, is it too late to re-evaluate its value, what it brings to the community, all the parties, do the parties who run it, are they still interested, or are they still interested, I mean, I don't know, I don't know, you don't know. [15:48] So as a free board, you would like us to reach out to them and see if we can like something out if they're still interested in doing it for this festival. [15:58] Yes, and I would like going forward because Bonnie and Clyde, like you pointed out, isn't even on our list to talk about today or agenda to talk about. [16:09] I would think that would be standard until we get to Bonnie and Clyde. [16:13] Hey, these things need to be discussed or this is the latest with what we've done. [16:20] And I feel like we weren't even going to hear about those soap blocks thing today, unless I brought it up. [16:27] And I feel like that's the big thing that should have been discussed before it was decided. [16:33] So I don't know what you guys's direction has been from the powers that be. [16:43] But I feel like it continues to be anything to get us out of here in the journey on a Monday [16:51] at the first part of the month, just, and I love this, but this right here, I love it, but this [16:59] is awfully reminiscent of the thing that Council, when we were directly asked by citizens about [17:09] the investigation with our previous police chief, and instead of answering those, we were given [17:16] And whatever that was, that was like a forget what it was, but it was like named, it was [17:26] some kind of report, but it didn't really answer the questions that were being asked. [17:30] It was like, um, and by the way, we've made 32 at Rerez or whatever, it was like a, I forget [17:35] the name of it, but it was like a 10th of a user report. [17:37] Yeah, it was, I don't, I don't remember the direct name of it, is it 360 report, that's what [17:42] it was. [17:42] This is awfully reminiscent of that in the fact that it's pretty to look at, and it has words on it, but they're not necessarily substantial. [17:55] It's just like, placating the people that might be interested. [17:59] So, that's my feedback on that. [18:01] But I do think that moving forward, bunning Clyde, Christmas, Halloween, all of our events need to be on our agenda every time, [18:10] so that we're constantly in discussion of recent things or, you know, it may be a quick [18:17] change. [18:18] Change the sport from the mainstream board back to just the historic board if the city wants [18:22] to make the decisions without going through the mainstream board. [18:25] Well, they're required to have a mainstream board. [18:27] So I feel like what's the kind of record? [18:30] We're just here for the reason of saying that we have a mainstream board. [18:34] The course. [18:34] Check the box. [18:36] So, I'm going to, and just so you know, I'm going to make it known every time I sit here [18:41] because I cannot abide it happening anymore. [18:45] So, I thought it would change with you guys, but it seems like it has it, and again, not at all [18:50] upset with you guys, but it does feel like the direction to the person that handles this board [18:54] is too handle this board. [18:59] I want to go back if I can about the cell box derby specifically. [19:04] It was a huge thing for a very long time, huge, and then like many things, through no fault of its own, it leaned out. [19:15] We got that. [19:16] We know that. [19:17] We see that. [19:20] But then there seemed to be a little rebirth a few years back. [19:23] And everybody was getting their sea legs again. [19:27] And in my fantasy world, what was going to happen is it was going to, [19:32] Everybody new day, new slate, some new carpenter shops and all, that maybe they would step up and do it again, because it was a great thing. [19:46] It's a great thing. [19:47] And the subbox therapy, it's a national thing. [19:50] We've had one of their big wings come to watch hours. [19:54] So it's all good, so all of that is good, it also carries a bit of history and I do believe that with what this town is facing with its growth, that doesn't mean, believe me, nobody clings harder to all crap than I do, I own that, but there is something to be said about history and institutional knowledge and nostalgia and all of that. [20:23] So I'm looking at all of that in the plus column, it's in a plus column. [20:31] I have no idea about costs, that's not my thing. [20:36] I'm thinking, well, I believe it was 99.9% volunteer. [20:41] So there was no huge outlay for, hey, bales or whatever. [20:45] Wait, wait, wait. [20:46] I'm looking for the downside. [20:49] I'm looking for the reason to not allow it to. [20:57] We're trying to allow more parking, also the last few years it has not been widely attended [21:04] because we had eyes on it. [21:08] And we are moving in a little bit. [21:09] We have numbers because I can assure you when they wasn't keeping numbers. [21:13] Because I've asked her for numbers, even from our downtown emergency. [21:16] She was a keeper when you're at the festival and there's a feature set up down there. [21:21] I don't use the bleachers. [21:23] I don't use the bleachers. [21:23] We just wore them. [21:25] I'm just going to be more perspective whenever we were training and shadowing with Wendy last year. [21:29] There just wasn't a lot happening down there. [21:32] And we did have a really big problem with parking. [21:34] And so we were like, what if we utilize all of this parking? [21:38] Then we knew that down. [21:41] At the community center of the library and the public works area. [21:44] So this conversation should have been happened. [21:46] happen or should have had, Ben had, sorry, with the board, I feel like you bring that information [21:52] and you say that and say, this is why we propose either getting rid of it or moving it. [21:59] Moving it. [22:00] Because I think we would have all said what's a different place that we can put it because [22:04] it is a fan favorite throughout the community with kids in general, but can fit in those [22:11] cars. [22:11] And it is a small group of kids that can and we'll do it, but we also have aged out kids that love the experience that they'll never have an experience like that ever because it's not an experience and it's an experience [22:26] two granddaughters that built some of those cars that bring their [22:30] One would have to wonder if the powers that the last four or five years, pick a number, in recent times, had had a positive feeling about it, and a heartfelt feeling, all those numbers may have been different. We will. If everybody's pulling on the same roll, putting your energy and your good thoughts into, [22:59] some activity that one is probably going to do well probably. If it's just a [23:05] year maybe not so much so it was that a fault was that a fault of the so-box [23:13] derby itself as an entity or was that the fault of previous controllers who [23:23] didn't emphasize the soapbox degree. [23:25] We don't know, but we can all figure out [23:28] how that may or may not have worked with it. [23:30] I guess I, again, I want to cling to things [23:34] that speak to some of our, we're not just a carnival. [23:41] And so some things that speak to our past isn't about that. [23:49] And that's, you know, I think that might be one of the items that would speak to pilot point. [23:58] Yeah. [23:58] And I'm going to say, I don't care one way or another as far as box car or no box car. [24:06] I had my biggest gripe is that it was not discussed in here so that we could have the information why the decisions being talked about. [24:14] We could discuss. We could [24:17] Part-lay our own experience because we are actually out on the street. It's not it's not just windy in the past few years [24:24] We're out there. I was out there too. Yeah, so we have we have some insight as well [24:30] But it's just it's just the fact that when we're talking about changing the events or when we're even like [24:37] Changing the time proposing new things. I feel like that is why this board exists [24:42] If not, what are we supposed to be in here for? [24:47] If we're not talking about the mainstream events, [24:51] and having input and discussing what those things look like ahead of time, [24:57] if not, I'm very curious as to why we're even here. [25:03] Okay, so here's what we're going to do. [25:07] Again, I'm going to reach out to them, the soapbox, [25:09] and talk to them about it and I will let y'all know what they say at the next meeting. [25:16] Like, told you last time, 2026, we needed a lock-in to get the, you know, the make the difference [25:22] that we needed to not get the same openers, the same old music acts, the same old anything, [25:28] and we needed to move the same forward. And that's what we did. My apologies that, you know, we didn't [25:37] break it down more for y'all when we did the presentation and if you guys want to talk about [25:42] Bonnie and Clyde and the rest of the events going forward each time we meet we definitely [25:48] can do that. Yeah and the history of this board we've done it in every meeting call of eternity [25:55] we talk about every single event every single meeting. That is not necessary. So I was going to say so [26:02] on me like I had nothing new to say about them so I didn't like, but there was that new thing to say that's fair. [26:10] I, you know, you should just live on there and then you can say, we have nothing on that. [26:16] And if we did hear something or whatever then we can bring it and it's already on the agenda and we can make sure. [26:23] I was asked this, what's going on here and then you know that makes us ambassadors to the community as well because when people come up to me and say that you know, [26:32] No, I don't know what's going on, and I probably should, you know, it could be a simple thing of, you know, in years past, we're not seeing a lot of involvement in that, we think that parking is enough, you know what I mean? [26:49] Like then I'm not dealing with a frustrated citizen. [26:53] Or come to this board and say, we're going to have a one more time [26:56] let's push it, see if we can help those old men who are loading and unloading [27:01] hay bales because I load S the hay while I'm working this event, I load S the hay. [27:06] Because the teenagers who volunteer to get their hours leave and then you have a man with [27:11] robot legs, a man with a broken leg, and 85-year-old man, a lot of old men who were [27:17] there because they fundraise in their free time. [27:24] Yeah, so yeah, but anyway, so if we can add those to the agenda and then [27:31] You know, yeah, I get it that things needed to happen and they probably were backed up in a pipeline [27:39] But I hope that moving forward will start being more [27:45] part of it, you know, a little more communication. Yeah, [27:55] so we still have some report to go [28:00] I think the Ninja Project is very cool, it's the Ninja Project, I think that's very cool, and I think a lot of kids will really like that. [28:10] Are we, where are we putting it? [28:12] It'll be in the grassy area on next to the ice house. [28:17] So over here. [28:20] I mean, just staying on like Bonnie and Clyde. [28:23] Do we have a plan for a little pocket park? Do we have an idea? [28:26] do we, [28:29] as far as the event in like, utilizing this? [28:32] Utilizing it? [28:33] Yes, I'm at a standstill in that, [28:36] because there's a couple of different ideas that are. [28:39] We could put up a projector, since it's an evening event, [28:42] and play, I don't know about the rights of the movie [28:44] and all that stuff. [28:45] No, you're good, I'm laughing because that's [28:48] one of the conversations about that area. [28:51] So it's one way or another is going to be a place where [28:54] people would be able to go sit and enjoy. [28:57] Or maybe if we can't get the right to the movie, we can still possibly as a projector and put old pictures of them filming when they were here, [29:07] depending on what else those, even old pictures that probably believe that those things are interesting to people. [29:15] And then, are we going to talk about flower festival now? [29:27] So flower festival, it was very cold and breezy, but all but I think two of our vendors [29:35] showed up that morning, so that was wonderful, that was a great turnout. [29:39] There is a metrics page here that says Easter egg hunt on it that tells you the number [29:44] of people that visited, that's through the Flacer AI that uses my phone data, somehow to [29:51] tell us how many people came. [29:53] So what I did is you'll see the date range says March 27 to March 29 and then I just asked it to only give us that [30:00] May, between 8 and 1, just to see who was out there during that time frame. So this is the whole square. [30:07] No. It includes all the way out to Old City Park so that it included the easter, I kind of. [30:13] Okay. But yes, it's basically all of the square, including that area of the park. [30:20] And so there were 787 visits, which was 781 visitors total. [30:26] And it says they stayed about 92 minutes, so that's pretty great. [30:30] That is great. [30:32] I could not figure out how to give us the year over year numbers. [30:36] So I will work on that. [30:38] I was trying, but I could not figure it out. [30:40] Yeah, because it may give you different date on the calendar. [30:42] I think you're right. [30:43] I don't know how to play. [30:45] I don't know how to play to play. [30:46] This is actually BTA news. [30:49] Tell me what I'm thinking. [30:53] So, overall, I felt like far festival was successful. [30:57] I'd love to hear y'all's feedback and what you saw on your side. [31:01] I have one note about our vendor check-in, and yes, I know the information gets pulled. [31:06] Pushed out to them and email and all the stuff about where to come into this square, [31:11] but most of the time they send their cousin that weekend, you know, [31:17] and they use their GPS and then they get confused because there's no way to get to it. [31:21] So those little political plastic signs, if we just put vendor with an arrow, some of them go on to the right, some of them go into the left, and then we can just move wherever, wherever that entrance will be to the square. [31:35] We can block off that Washington, that arrow goes to the left or right wherever, and then we can just push them that way so that they're not like, oh, I don't know where to go, because I even had that on Saturday morning, I had an older gentleman going, I don't know how to get in there. [31:50] So we got a chat, but I felt like easy, just vendor with the arrow, we can use them at all [31:56] or a bit. [31:57] I felt like it was mostly pretty smooth. [31:59] We didn't have parked cars on the square, and people just driving through when they weren't [32:03] supposed to be. [32:05] You know what? [32:06] I've done it a few times now, directing people, you know, just the nature of our square, [32:13] and where we are between two major roads and all, it's awkward, I don't care, how you look [32:19] at it, or what kind of GPS. [32:20] thing you've got. It is a little bit awkward. So yeah, I'll be a couple of folks [32:25] circling the wagons, but I think they'll ultimately end up. So I don't. [32:29] It's never tragic. It's never a big scream and deal. Someone may turn left. [32:34] They need to turn right. And you're never more than a half a mile from your destination. [32:38] So I think we just carry on. [32:40] And the signs are so cheap. [32:42] They're pretty eight dollars. So you know, forty dollars. [32:45] And we have a smoother. It makes us better. [32:48] there was no or professional to people makes it easier on them. [32:52] The other thing I was gonna say was, oh, feedback was, [32:57] her flower festival, fuck up, there's no flowers. [33:00] There were so many flowers. [33:02] There were flowers. [33:03] We had DNA, we had joy filled in. [33:06] I can't read it in, wasn't there, but like, somebody always says, [33:10] somebody said there's one place that's selling flowers. [33:13] And I was like, okay, you know, I can't remember who it was. [33:16] It was just somebody that I know in the community that came up to me the day of the event. [33:22] But I would, you know, if we can up our budget, whatever budget season, because I know it's like 4,000. [33:28] Is there a total or something like that? [33:30] I don't know. [33:31] Okay. [33:31] What Wendy has told us in the past was of 4,000. [33:35] But if we can up our budget as we move, because that's our only spring, real big event. [33:41] It would be great to start upping that budget every year, a little bit, a little bit, and just [33:46] build that into something good, especially with the feedback from our young, really arms residents [33:54] for our promotions committee. [33:57] They said on weekends, they absolutely look for something going away from Prisco, because they fight [34:03] that traffic all week long and they really do want to come up and be here because it's a simpler [34:09] drive that that easier time on them. So I think we could really make that into something and [34:17] keep building on it. You know, the Easter egg is definitely not for everyone. It's for our little [34:22] town. And I think that I'm going to say it's a record time this year. It was like it was quick four [34:28] minutes. I had everything picked up. Can I ask a question first? So [34:36] just I just want to clarify. Does [34:39] Increasing the budget help us get more flowers on the square. Is that what we're treating the budget meeting making it a bigger event every year? [34:45] Just making it like that to be our our spring Bonnie and Clyde are [34:50] You know, and if you did in and Texas tulips have taken turns maybe coming occasionally [34:56] We've never had both of them at the same time, and they always say they will and then they can't [35:02] But are you talking about the strawberry form? No, we did in and a tulips. Okay. Yeah [35:06] Because we have the strawberry farm too, but then they opened like historically early, [35:10] and we're like, we can't miss those things. [35:12] That's going to be the case for the two of us and everything. [35:14] It's their wildest memories, everything changes, and you never know when it's going to happen. [35:20] Well, I was going to say, so the flower festival being marbony and kind of because, [35:25] and this is, I've said this before in our meetings, nobody else has a flower festival. [35:32] Nobody has a town event really that is like that. [35:35] And we can really turn that into something. [35:38] If you go online and look at like, um, [35:42] arboretums, um, mad hat or tea, [35:45] they have, flower paths or whatever, [35:48] um, people have loved that for years. [35:50] But there's nothing like that up here. [35:52] There's also, you know, ladies, [35:55] day out, that kind of crowd that would come up [35:59] for those Insta-Tops, Insta-Sops, [36:01] if we really had some beautiful picture stops, [36:04] They're sticking around their buying flowers or you know like it's not just planters, but also cut flowers [36:10] If it's something like that you and these are all just ideas of how we can grow this event in a market place [36:18] That we're not up against Cinco to miles and other towns. We're not up a gut against like [36:24] Trudeau festival kind of things because [36:26] Yes, that that would be great for our town. I think people would love that [36:30] but Solina offers the exact same event and it's already a bigger event. [36:35] I'm just talking about the type of event that can be a spring event that nobody else has [36:41] anything. [36:41] I love that we have this idea that's still kind of in the egg that nobody else has ever had. [36:49] Yeah, but we have the tulip, the tulip farm, which people are starting more and more [36:55] exponentially to know that's in pilot pointless tulip farm. [36:58] And people are coming from everywhere. [37:01] It would be great if we could make them partners. [37:05] I know there's, you know, just over. [37:09] And yeah. [37:10] So it would be great to build upon that. [37:14] It's like, it's like our best part of the tournament [37:18] that came, we have this lake here. [37:22] And we have this, and nobody else has it. [37:25] I feel that way about our flower festival. [37:27] I think it's just got so much better. [37:30] Central for us to make it into something. That's what I mean about building the budget. [37:35] I think we could do more with the bonnet to. [37:38] I mean, it was a lot bigger when somebody was promoting it and sponsoring it. [37:48] What do we ask the florists? Like the one here in the one in Aubrey, if they would be interested in [37:56] Sponsoring the body context, I sit down with them, do anything but put their name on it, you know? [38:01] Maybe we could even get some people have some boosts where kids can come and create on it, and things like that. [38:08] I mean, there's more opportunity to promote... [38:18] It was a kind of an event time, we're all aware of that, the week prior and such, but after that fact, [38:27] Eva Cunningham had talked about the bonnet contest, and apparently they were here for the one that was epic. [38:34] And she said, I want to do that. She said, I want, I want rooted in to make that happen. [38:40] So she has, she is at least one person who has already a year out offered to [38:46] promote that. [38:47] Make that happen and I think that's all good. [38:53] I did have a constructive criticism from a neighbor, she doesn't have kids. [38:59] She was reading about it and he saw it online and you know the whole thing and she said, [39:04] Well, we didn't go, it felt like it was really [39:08] kids' centric or Easter egg, whatever. [39:13] So, and I said, well, no, that was only for like five minutes. [39:17] She said, well, maybe that's true, but the way I read it, [39:21] it was all of that and just a little bit of something else. [39:26] So, maybe directing a little more attention on that. [39:30] I don't know. [39:31] But part of my vision, she didn't know. [39:33] I know. [39:34] I will show. [39:36] I see. [39:37] Maybe that. [39:37] Because I know originally, it started as a community only like whatever we call them [39:41] that it wasn't a bigger event. [39:43] It's more important for the people. [39:45] If we kind of take the Easter egg stuff off of our marketing that goes out further, and just [39:52] flower festival it up. [39:54] Because that Easter egg event is really just for the grid streets pilot point, right? [40:00] I mean, stuff from out it, just not. [40:02] Like, well, yeah, two different things. [40:04] Promoting my minutes. [40:05] This flower festival, and then we have our Easter egg, [40:08] and this goes out the smaller way, [40:10] and this goes out the bigger way. [40:12] But I was thinking, like, even, you know, [40:13] it would be lovely in the future. [40:16] Tablic and main stage, and then we have [40:18] the master gardeners doing presentations there. [40:21] Like, how rooted in those on their social media, [40:24] and they go, these Texas natives are really great [40:27] for drought tolerance. [40:28] If you're looking for, you know, [40:30] flowering, garden, spring, whatever, you know, and we have different little 15-minute increments [40:38] on that going through, coming from the stage, then we can invite whatever dance, whatever [40:44] troops between or start right in between as well. [40:48] I think that would make it into, you know, flexible with the different clouds. [40:55] His gardeners is cut flowers, is, you know, [41:00] farmers market with vendors. [41:03] And then it's a bigger event [41:05] than just, we have the Easter egg hunt. [41:08] The Denton County, there was a master garden here, [41:13] food, right? [41:13] Yes. [41:14] I'm telling you. [41:15] But if I remember correctly, [41:18] it was jammed in at 10 by 10. [41:21] They had no tent, no identification, no sandwich sign, [41:25] no banner, and two ladies sitting at a table. Now that's not anybody's fault, but that was the end result. [41:35] And you just zip by it to look at the freeze-dry stickers bar or whatever. You know, it just didn't do that. [41:43] So if we were going to put more emphasis on that, maybe we have a banner, or we set aside a little alcohol for planting instructions, [41:56] only isolating it and making it special or something I don't I just because I [42:03] did notice the ladies and nobody was there they just had another [42:06] lady come in and they're all match adding and it didn't it didn't work they were [42:13] there but it didn't provide a service or if you've ever been there if you don't know [42:18] what they do to don't work right and that's kind of so maybe helping them yeah [42:24] Yeah, I went to like Arlington to a home depot because a master gardener was going to be there, and they did a presentation, and then I did buy to flowering drought, all around trees that were small, but I learned what they were through Texas agro-life and all that stuff, but that was me learning on my own, because I had an interest in it. [42:50] How do we convey that and what they do to the average person walking by that hasn't done the research? [42:58] Well, we give them a microphone, we give it, you know, like a little place. [43:01] We can do those promo videos with, through to then, leading towards the event or other nurseries we have hotels. [43:09] We could even do it with the master gardeners that they may or may not be sending. [43:14] Just those things kind of leading to the event because then you get that feel of what they are. [43:20] what service they provide and they're so knowledgeable. [43:24] So what would you need for that? [43:25] More time, more money, more bodies, what would you need? [43:32] I think it starts with, so just to reflect on what you said about this is how they showed up. [43:38] They had no, they had nothing. [43:40] So I can't make them do it, but I could certainly provide the opportunity and say we would [43:47] like for you to give a presentation at this time, you know, et cetera. [43:50] I think, as I mean, we have the setup, we have the PA system, we have all that kind of stuff. [43:57] Yeah, I don't know that I would need anything additional other than their active participation and involvement. [44:03] So, okay, so yeah. [44:04] I'm harming out a moment and adding some flu to their, or, you know, this city is a little short on cannabis. [44:15] If I remember correctly, there's a lot of spit and chewing gum and prayer keeping the ones we have together. [44:22] So, I mean, maybe, I don't know. I don't know about that, but is that, is that the answer? [44:28] I mean, anytime you see a little island of goodies isolated or right there, you're drawn to it, [44:34] if it's especially if it's got cute things to look at, pretty things to look at. So, anyway. [44:39] So it could be time, maybe if the city will, in the future, invest in [44:48] Cannabis that could be utilized for many things, not just one gardening show. [44:55] But there's a possibility there. [44:57] So there's a little money involved. [45:01] We could start, you know, we would do a banner, obviously, that said what this is, that had like the schedule of what we're going to do, that sort of thing. I think those are lovely ideas. [45:11] I feel like it's starting more budget. I'm sure that's all being good thing. [45:17] I'm always saying more, I'm running. [45:19] We had, if we had, and it's not to say, give us more money. It's like, what are we going to focus on? [45:24] our big things, what needs to drop off the list, right? And that I feel like would be one that [45:31] we want to push to the front of the line to be more focused because it's got unlimited potential. [45:38] I just bet springtime, I mean, obviously not this last one that was called an overcast, [45:44] but like yesterday, when we get that good day, everybody goes, oh my gosh, let's get outside [45:49] and we have that and nobody else has something like that. [45:52] So adding to my presentations and all, okay, so don't laugh but the state fair comes to my mind is that you have a schedule. [46:03] I mean, these are vendors for the most part and there's a schedule that is put out there. [46:09] So people that are attending look at it and see what they want to go to those particular presentations. [46:14] So it's vendors and all that are doing the presentations. [46:17] It just, you know, somebody that has something worthwhile to say and to share and showcasing [46:24] something of theirs and then that can say we're located, you know, after they are finished. [46:31] But have they had shares of life roses and they're going to... [46:34] But if that's the case then we have to find out how to display their number where it's not under [46:39] their feet. [46:40] If we're sending people to, you know, it's Rosie's Rose Booth. [46:45] We don't want to make a central place that they go to. [47:01] Like if we have a day sign and name, if we have a vendor. [47:04] So this is like a wishful thinking, right? [47:07] I know we don't have a budget. [47:08] We had the same kind of stage set up, like we do body and client. [47:11] We invite our vendors. We've got the ingredient. [47:14] We're going to talk about throughout the world. [47:17] We have chairs that can't be seen. [47:20] And O Bell's is rose bushes. [47:23] And then, you know, so-and-so, how to range flowers. [47:29] Like, Aubrey Flores is coming up. [47:30] And this is how you're range flowers. [47:32] And we have all of those things. [47:34] And then they have their own bridal vendor. [47:39] But everybody stays at the main stage [47:40] to see these different presentations that they know about ahead of time what they're going to go with and more they just stopped in or they're here because their dance crew was [47:49] and it's not in one right after the other that you in our service with a dance crew for something like that so that people have time then to go visit their both and also it's kind of pulling drawing them into [48:03] But they are actually presenting, you know, everybody would be willing to do that, but I think that there would be quite a few that could come up with something that they can present to encourage people to come to my booth and talk to me. [48:16] Well, if they have that much buy-in that they're willing to do a presentation then maybe they don't back out to you. [48:22] Yeah, if we give them, if we build it, they will come, right? [48:27] And it's a, it's a, a, re-advertising, and I think it's great. [48:32] I did an event like this years ago, my past life, but it was, it was a kind of like trade show, right? [48:41] But so and so vendor was, it was beauty products. [48:45] So and so vendors on stage for 10, 10, 30, and they came out and they didn't, this is the latest quality block. [48:51] That's how hair show these are now, yes, the full day of, from 1130 to 1230 red [48:56] can's shown off their hair spray, and then this hair clippers are going to do men's [49:01] hair cuts. [49:02] But it cost, it cost as nothing, it cost them just showing up and pushing your product, [49:09] but it creates interest for the consumer and some bit of knowledge, you know, as I'm wrapping [49:16] a lot of this up in my head, I'm thinking a couple of things, if you have a bunch of [49:21] a couple of kids, E, that is all they want to do is chase that egg and that rush of excited [49:27] and everyone's squealing and going crazy and they're all happy. Then mom drags them over here [49:33] and they touch stuff for what an hour, you know, all the hour. Then those kids are done and they're [49:42] now they're going to make everyone miserable. So as smart mother says, Kitnikar, Missy, work [49:46] and home. So we've got that problem in itself. So we can't fix it. We just have to manage it. [49:55] So that's something that all of those fabulous ideas that we just all talked about, [50:00] every one of them is great. But how does that have the answers I only have questions? [50:06] How does that kind of we fix that? That's two different. That's two different. We need to [50:15] Can you get the kids on here? [50:17] I can't. [50:18] Yeah, if you all talk at once. [50:19] I say we have Easter. [50:22] And that's just our little small, whatever. [50:25] And while we're festival. [50:27] And it doesn't have to be the same day anymore. [50:30] That pushes us away from that weekend before Easter that [50:34] we're up against all the other Easter eggs. [50:37] Hunts and carnivals that are going on in the H.O.A. [50:41] Now we've got something that's just a spring event [50:43] and we can push it closer to Mother's Day, you know what I mean? [50:47] It's just, it's kind of a big deal to put on the Easter egg hunt, [50:50] but it only lasts like four minutes. [50:53] So that's why it's tied to something else, [50:55] because it's like, we really want to provide the Easter egg hunt, [50:58] but we need to make it worthwhile for all the stuff that goes into it. [51:01] Or then we work two of them in the same month, [51:03] which is why we, that's what I understood is why it turned into also having the flower. [51:09] I don't know if they ever just only did the Easter egg hunt, [51:12] But it was like, this was like, you know, however much planning and staffing and roads and whatever they did. [51:20] And so that's why it has been incorporated into also having the fire festival so that it just makes it, you know, [51:27] you can spend more time and do more stuff. [51:29] But I think that we can incorporate a lot of the things that you guys are saying and grow it and improve it. [51:35] And that's, we're having this conversation now and we actually have time to make those things come to fruition a year for now. [51:41] So one can't, the fire festival will be like the main advertising and the, and the, and the easter egg [51:49] and story time and be down here in a little box. [51:53] Yeah, absolutely. [51:54] So that being said, then my last suggestion is the timing, it seemed like, I guess I have a straight [52:02] I felt it was horrible, I mean, I wasn't part of that at all, and then it was just [52:07] bam, done, and so, most of the enders were asking for another hour, so I think we're all [52:18] all. [52:18] I think we need to be having the flower festival open before the Easter egg. [52:22] Like we had the flower festival open at nine, Easter egg, but at ten and flower festival [52:27] over at noon. [52:28] I think it could. [52:30] I respond to the consultation. Senator Prime Minister, Mr. Chairman, please take the announcement, a regular television proposal, our guest will come to last table for 14 years. [52:36] I've heard those same thoughts. [52:43] When I liked about having the vendors set up and open, we weren't doing checking in while they were children running around. [52:51] Because the e-strict has been so quickly. [52:54] I really need to be longer. I felt that day, like when we were all closing at noon, [52:59] One of my vendors said, are we like on a time limit, can we not just stay open and I was like, well, we are on a time limit in the fact that the streets are going to be reopened because this is what we've planned. [53:08] So I agree, I think it easily could have gone to at least one o'clock. [53:12] But I do like having the vendors and the whole festival set up before the, you know, [53:18] Because we kind of have to split ranks. [53:22] Because it's all the same staff doing it. [53:24] It wouldn't be different. [53:26] They're just there, they're ready, you know. [53:30] And Ree said that she and I said, [53:32] did you have a lot of kids getting Easter running pictures? [53:34] And she's like, not a few because they took them at the park. [53:38] And I said, this year, we're not stopping for pictures. [53:41] We're going to keep moving. [53:43] But even in motion, they show their kid in her arm [53:45] and take a picture off of each other and you'd like to do it. [53:48] Of course we saw it. [53:49] They did not come to the gazebo, and they could not have a model on it. [53:54] But I don't know how many of them. [53:55] But why couldn't we not do that at El City Park? [53:59] We could. [53:59] Why could not we set up a photo in it? [54:02] And it'd be Rocky there because the kids are there. [54:06] It would be nice if we had it outside in the parking spaces as they're waiting in line. [54:13] They could. [54:14] Did you release the protest, or any, or e-sterboding photos? [54:19] Or even in the basketball court area over there, we could have a little bet-drop or something. [54:27] Which, that wouldn't work this time, because the way... [54:30] Well, the window would have... [54:31] You said that. [54:33] It says the LA Center, and all. [54:35] No, it's not. [54:36] That line helps you from a lot of people. [54:38] Not really, it's dedicated to the official or dead stage of the line. [54:43] But it takes baby over, they got their picture, so it's still waiting for you to do it. [54:48] That's what I'm talking about, couldn't I mean, you know? [54:50] But they didn't line up until. [54:53] Yeah. [54:53] Yeah. [54:53] I need a way for them to get in. [54:55] There was sure it's not, you know. [54:58] Yeah. [54:58] That's why we're saying it in the end. [54:59] Because we, but I didn't hear what you said. [55:03] You said something or something. [55:04] You know what you got? [55:04] I didn't hear what you said. [55:07] I was asking, were they parked in the parking spaces at the exit? [55:13] That's it? [55:14] So, utilizing maybe the basketball court would be good [55:17] for the picture taking. [55:19] And as far as the alley goes, they're able to get on the liberty [55:24] or they won't able to get on the main, because we realize the main. [55:28] So, I mean, it's something we look at, [55:30] see if there's any kind of way that we can make any kind of adjustments. [55:33] But I do like that idea of having to make a check their photos and add also before. [55:39] You're going to need concertes of wire from the mangate to the basketball court. [55:43] And I'll like to find it. [55:45] You got a lot of wire. [55:47] Otherwise they'll be, you know, a hard stick. [55:51] I like that idea of moving the pictures to the park. [55:54] I think that's true. [55:55] Because it extended. [55:56] I don't think you could do it beforehand, though. [55:58] Because after you have the eggs and what you're going to do, [56:01] What's the answer there? I mean, they can't come in and take it apart from each other, but I think it would be, I don't really think it would be the line would be all that long. [56:14] I think you could get a picture and maybe it pretty fast. [56:18] I didn't get them done. [56:19] So I said, you guys were kind of on your conversation. [56:22] I said, if we have the easter egg bunny, where it's inaccessible before the event, before the easter egg hunt, [56:28] And then after the ATA is when they can take a picture at the setup, that may create quite a line for the Easter Bunny to be trapped at the park. [56:38] Is that a bad thing? I don't know. [56:40] I don't know. [56:41] Because she gets trapped. [56:42] Because when kids can follow the bunny to the library, I mean to the museum for story time. [56:49] Was that a good turnout? [56:51] The story time? [56:51] It wasn't bad. [56:52] I was like, I want to say she said something like 30. [56:55] That's awesome. [56:55] I was like, you're before we had like less than 10. [56:59] So it was good. [57:04] Did we have any feedback from our merchants after, [57:07] I think Allison said that she had a good day. [57:17] I'm trying to think somebody did something. [57:18] Can you say that? [57:20] They were not. [57:21] They were doing okay. [57:23] I don't know if it was. [57:24] I didn't get a final result. [57:27] At seven junkies. [57:28] Okay, they had quite a few come in, so I don't know what the numbers were, you know, but [57:34] The windmill [57:36] I mean, didn't really go wrong with there. Oh my gosh, it was so nice. There you go. Yeah [57:43] But I would say not having anything from the stores [57:48] Maybe more accessible for them. So I mean, they want you [57:55] You know, you don't want to [57:58] have something for each of these events, it's just going to help them out even more. [58:03] So we're not blocking any traffic, any of the traffic. [58:06] I'm going in there. [58:06] Oh, we want them to be successful, but we want our events to be successful. [58:09] They have all the other days of the year. [58:12] That's kind of awesome. [58:14] Remind me of the previous Easter things. [58:17] Was that where the good tarman was or was just that at a market? [58:22] I think that was as market. [58:23] I don't know that we've had music at the flower festival. [58:26] but like why it has a picture. [58:29] Thank you. [58:34] Any more flower first of all talk, guys? [58:37] Okay, so I was you said something about live music. [58:39] So that is one way that we switch things around in our budget is instead of paying someone to do live music, [58:46] which we don't it's not significant, but I use those funds and other to buy the signs that are on the flower poles. [58:56] And so I just thought, can music was better than a live performer, just to try it out and see how it worked. [59:03] Yeah, you know what? You could hear it. Unfortunately, you know, there's something about pilot point and sound systems. [59:10] We have some sort of parallel universe going. [59:13] Is if you were right there, you could hear a nice faint soft. [59:17] And it should be soft. It shouldn't be overwhelming. [59:19] But if you move three steps to the left, nothing, so if you had some lovely garden music or something along those lines, it's in less sure underneath the speaker, it's lost, so that's unfortunate. [59:37] Okay, but that would happen regardless. [59:39] Yeah, open air sound is not easy to write. [59:43] Right, I mean, why don't you know, because I, well, I'll say for you. [59:48] Are you saying that just as regular feedback or are you or saying that because you'd rather like music? [59:54] I just happen to like that guitar guy. He has just nice j... [1:00:00] It's all pleasant music, which you can't not like. [1:00:04] And I could remember, if he was there, because I just remembered, the weather's nice when I'm listening to him. [1:00:09] Was that, yeah, so that was my gift. [1:00:11] I'm just happening to know which gentlemen, because I have said that I know of it and I know this is card. [1:00:18] Okay, fine, yeah. [1:00:20] Okay. [1:00:21] So, there she does, okay. [1:00:24] That's the name, Victor Tarman. [1:00:26] That's it. [1:00:28] It's a secret. [1:00:30] But I do want to say, whoever did the sound system on Main Street there in Whitesboro, they did it right. [1:00:38] It's never too loud, and as you wander around, you hear it wherever you go with your outside. [1:00:46] So they figured it out, and they're pretty small. [1:00:49] You know, it's not like there's something metal out to us or anything. [1:00:53] Well, and there's is, are you talking like, on their main stream? [1:00:56] Yeah, so, and it's not so it's not even a square. [1:00:58] It's just a wrap. [1:01:00] Okay. [1:01:01] Linear. [1:01:01] Didn't made just the old cells. [1:01:03] They might have not. [1:01:04] They did, but it's nice. [1:01:11] Um, do you, are there other events that we want to discuss that? [1:01:15] Um, so next things coming up are our markets. [1:01:18] So at the end of April, April 25th, we have our first market of the, [1:01:24] are of the season, and it is in conjunction with pilot point neighborhood events doing the [1:01:29] jazz fest, the inaugural jazz fest. They have a headliner, Joseph, when Chile, and [1:01:39] Chile, and I think they have a, maybe the UNT band coming up before them, and then maybe somebody [1:01:46] else prior to that. So I think there's three music groups, they'll have a stage in everything, [1:01:50] that's going to be set up next to community services. So in the parking lot here, they've already [1:01:57] sold out all their VIP tables. They have a Charcuterie board, I guess food truck business, [1:02:05] that you can pre-order from and then, of course, you can get on that night as well, [1:02:10] Carly's Confections, who does like chocolate covered strawberries and lovely things like that, [1:02:15] be there and then they also scheduled a pizza truck. So there will be plenty of food and then [1:02:21] the market I think I have about 20 vendors signed up right now. I did another push online [1:02:27] earlier or I guess at the end of last week just to see if we can get some more people out [1:02:33] and and then the Chamber of Commerce will be doing I think it's the mid June of this time around. [1:02:40] And so the plan, at least initially, and I think this is still the plan, was to have the chamber of commerce set up in the little pocket park area, so that they kind of bridge people from Main Street to downtown, because we're not going to be closing down the square, we're just closing down that section of Main Street between Jefferson and church. [1:03:02] So, right, you can still park on the square, visit the square, and do the sip and stroll, and visit the market and the event. [1:03:11] Is our market going to stay in that area for the rest of the season? [1:03:15] Yes, we're calling them markets on main or market on main. [1:03:20] And just, that was to try and appease our merchants who don't love us shutting down the square all the time. [1:03:27] And also, it helps create a more intimate environment for the market, because it is smaller. [1:03:35] Try it. [1:03:36] It is. [1:03:37] It's less closure. [1:03:40] And so it just makes it a lot easier to manage. [1:03:43] So we're just going to try it and see how it works. [1:03:46] I think it's going to be great, so we'll see. [1:03:50] Well, I think it's a good thing that the Jazz Fest is our kickoff. [1:03:53] of what you're moving it because we will benefit from all of their advertising and getting [1:03:59] the word out of that is now our new location. So hopefully that'll help us, help us, [1:04:05] good Lord. Help us all season long. My only thought would be we're going to lose those people that [1:04:12] have seen it by driving by and going, oh, what's going on over here. So we have signs for a family [1:04:20] So I'm working on I want to order some feather flags. They have said that we can do feather flags as long as they're temporary and just for during the event. That sort of thing [1:04:31] You're going to get flack for that. I know even if it's temporary people are going to. [1:04:36] So [1:04:38] Always yeah, you said we couldn't [1:04:46] Never I think because [1:04:54] From the zero to main [1:04:57] I don't know if that's tall enough either [1:05:07] I love the look of those. [1:05:10] That is a word that I think we use that word in this. [1:05:13] I think it's your teacher. [1:05:14] But let's just, it's your right version of that. [1:05:18] Yeah. [1:05:21] So I'm excited to see how that turns out this is. [1:05:26] Yeah. [1:05:26] In that area. [1:05:27] And I love that it's a night. [1:05:29] I'll be smiling the whole time. [1:05:31] Our merges on the square are aware that our market is not going to be in front of this. [1:05:36] Yes, yes, and as a whole what percentage wanted that what percentage didn't [1:05:44] vocalize a negative towards that. That's a great question that I don't really have the answer to. I feel like it because I feel that was pre-pre-me [1:05:52] The entire civilization [1:05:53] Yeah, or two main [1:05:56] Educators [1:05:57] No, because there is that's not directly on the square that was not excited about the fact that it was now going to be on mainstream because [1:06:06] Then people don't necessarily see their business and [1:06:10] It's like darn it is that feeling of like you cannot make everyone happy right like we're feeling like [1:06:16] Yeah, so we're just we're gonna give it a shot. And if it doesn't work we'll try something new [1:06:40] It's just a matter of, we do actually want our businesses to be at the top of the list [1:06:47] of who's been a fitting from this, because without them in business, we have empty buildings [1:06:53] and that deteriorates to where it's all. [1:06:56] So that's the thing, these events are meant to be for the community, but also to push business [1:07:02] into the merchants that are already on the square. [1:07:06] So we definitely want to always be mindful of their feedback. [1:07:11] Let's try something different and see how that goes [1:07:14] because we have that feedback. [1:07:16] Because knowing how this area, it doesn't actually [1:07:21] have to be a negative that we did away from them. [1:07:23] We don't have to see it. [1:07:24] So we did. [1:07:26] It's really a negative feedback from my, I said. [1:07:30] So we're going to want the events committee. [1:07:32] Yeah. [1:07:32] And the emergency. [1:07:34] You know, they all know. [1:07:36] Okay. [1:07:37] So there wasn't much pushback at all. [1:07:39] I mean, I think they were really interested in the stand-outs work, especially, you know, like, I think the only issue [1:07:46] of the member who was like the show stalling, so it's worried about people on the low ground. [1:07:51] But then when you start, then you look over there and, you know, make your way around, and she's like, oh, okay, I'm cool with that. [1:07:58] people sniff out of the hall. [1:08:01] Did you find the alcohol? [1:08:02] Did you know that I think if everyone [1:08:04] do work together, at least if they would [1:08:06] you make it work, you stay? [1:08:08] Well, also, if we can reiterate to the merchants, [1:08:12] you know, you can share all of this information [1:08:16] with your name at the top. [1:08:18] It can be your event if you choose. [1:08:21] Well, and I had vendors reach out and say, [1:08:25] is there a like deal like a flower festival graphic [1:08:28] that I can put on my stuff, and I'm going to share it out, and I'm absolutely, and so the vendors are being proactive that way, and I think some of our merchants are active that way too. [1:08:41] And we have chamber events with every single one of our markets. [1:08:47] So that is a way to push the business. [1:08:51] Yep, two businesses. [1:08:52] So I think put the chamber right there in the middle. [1:08:55] Yeah. [1:08:57] Right. [1:09:04] So the last thing is when these multimedia content reports, [1:09:08] she wanted to do one that was specific to main streets. [1:09:12] You guys could kind of see what she had put out. [1:09:15] what it did well and sort of what our reach had been through social media for the [1:09:22] flower festival specifically so it says like reached 57,800 people so we ran a [1:09:31] paid media ad in the post signal and then and there was paid ad I believe on [1:09:37] program and Facebook, you know, if that's, yeah, I think that's Facebook and Instagram. [1:09:46] So you kind of see what all that the promotion side of things. [1:09:52] So what I'll do is just kind of, I've sort of made a note of when you guys were talking [1:09:56] about promotions and social media specifically and what your direction would be for that. [1:10:00] So I'm going to email her and say, hey, go, let's go back and listen to this section. [1:10:04] so they can. And also, Erin, it would be a great thing to just make note whenever you [1:10:08] guys are talking about that, then you can talk about it in your committee as well, and [1:10:11] that way we're all on the same page, I'll do it in the same things. [1:10:15] We are too, oh, sorry, you're on, you're in leading this on me. [1:10:19] Now go ahead. [1:10:20] I'm just going to say for you, Melda. I've been from future discussion, but yeah? [1:10:23] Not my job. [1:10:25] Um, do we have, I have a question for, Erin, okay? [1:10:32] So, the group, your group, are you already connected where, if you had a bit of information, you have a method of getting it out there with some of these neighborhoods? [1:10:46] Oh, yeah. [1:10:47] So that's sort of in place. [1:10:48] Well, we're using Facebook. [1:10:51] A mobile has a Facebook page. [1:10:53] We rose. [1:10:55] Yarbara. [1:10:55] That's an example on February, April 18th, there's the pilot point, what do we want to be calling it? [1:11:04] Let's bring a truffle? [1:11:05] Oh, no. [1:11:07] Which is very great. [1:11:09] That's all I know. [1:11:10] It's not the museum. [1:11:11] It's the Antiques Roadsch, Thailand Roadsch show. [1:11:16] Have you seen notification of that? [1:11:19] Yes. [1:11:20] Have you sent that out? [1:11:22] I haven't sent that out yet. [1:11:24] And you know the rate, I haven't heard of it. [1:11:27] Well, therein lies the problem. [1:11:32] Who is the, it's the library, it's the library. [1:11:36] And, and this is their first time, it's all kind of new to everybody. [1:11:42] But, in reality, the handful of people that I talked to, [1:11:45] they don't know anything about it. [1:11:47] So, it's not getting, no matter what all this multimedia content means, [1:11:52] It's not getting where it needs to go. [1:11:55] So I was hoping that maybe you could send that out because I never, I will never get tired of beating the drum that says for all of the new folks in pilot point. [1:12:08] We'd sure like them to know that we're pilot point. [1:12:12] They're pilot point. [1:12:13] It's like that has been forgotten or it was never a concept. [1:12:19] I like those folks over at, you know, [1:12:23] moreover lead to come in and see, you know, old man, old man, [1:12:27] pilot point, and how he lived in 1901, or whatever the story is. [1:12:34] And you know, it's two hours out of the day, it was Saturday. [1:12:37] So, the price is right. [1:12:41] So what I understand about that is that they're asking people, [1:12:45] if you have an artifact, three of the three artifacts, [1:12:48] bring it for recording. [1:12:51] This is what I know about it is. I think it's still kind of nebulous. I don't have an [1:12:56] artifact, but I have a picture. I'm going to, I'm going to, I am going to take pictures of my [1:13:03] staircase. Because that's part of, it is part of part of the point's history. And what they do [1:13:09] with it, it's all it is, is story time. This is story time. And you get to hold up a plate or a [1:13:20] Exactly. [1:13:21] Because, for example, they're going to have a few experts, but also there are folks in town [1:13:27] that know more about their phone stuff than any other guys going to know. [1:13:31] Even if it's just neighborhood lore, it's a fun story time, all this is a story time. [1:13:36] That wasn't the way it was presented, but I can very, I can follow up on that. [1:13:41] Please do whatever you feel comfortable with it. [1:13:44] But I can. [1:13:46] I can. [1:13:46] Nobody really knows exactly what it is, kind of a surprise. [1:13:50] Yep. Yep. [1:13:52] That is not on the library's website. [1:13:56] Hold a museum. [1:13:58] Okay. [1:13:59] Because they are one in the same ish. [1:14:02] Does the museum have its own Facebook page? [1:14:04] Well, this is on the outline. [1:14:07] Texas website. [1:14:08] I looked at the library portion. [1:14:10] Okay. [1:14:11] It's probably on their Facebook page, [1:14:13] maybe not on their website too much. [1:14:16] I know it is too much. [1:14:18] So what it reminded me of you saying though is like talking on us said when I'm researching [1:14:23] and I'm learning about agro-life and I know where and I understand what a master gardener is. [1:14:28] That's kind of how information about the city is too. [1:14:31] Is it like you have to know where to look and so a lot of our information is shared through [1:14:37] like our Facebook main street page and our Facebook city page and our Facebook library page. [1:14:45] And so if you don't follow those things, [1:14:47] then you are out of the loop. [1:14:48] And there's a lot of people that aren't on Facebook at all. [1:14:52] And so it's not that those are the only places [1:14:55] that we utilize, but it is a primary source for sure. [1:15:00] I mean, you know, it will make fun of me because I'm not that person, but I'm not the only one. [1:15:06] Well, we put a lot of it in the post signal, too. So like that's a place that people get it in print and they can get it digitally if they get their newspaper digitally. [1:15:14] So I mean, a lot of it is there, but you kind of have to be looking for it. [1:15:20] So I want to, I mean, I'm processing because the promotions committee is directly tied to mainstream. [1:15:29] Is that right? Yes, not the library. Correct. Okay, so I just want to be careful about scope. [1:15:35] No, no, I'm I'm talking about Main Street board. [1:15:41] So I want to be careful about scope creep as far as what the promotions committee supposed to do. So again, I'm still processing. [1:15:51] That you're your information because maybe I need to follow up with Wendy on that. [1:15:56] So the library also has a library and cultural arts board. [1:16:04] Yes, and I'm on that. [1:16:06] OK, so maybe they're sharing this information out too. [1:16:10] I have no idea. [1:16:10] I don't know. [1:16:12] But that's where I think part of it is kind of what [1:16:14] that would say it's at the 18th. [1:16:17] Who chose the three? [1:16:18] Yeah. [1:16:19] I know. [1:16:19] I trash off. [1:16:20] Or that's not what you can use in order to the group. [1:16:23] OK, that's it. [1:16:24] Everybody can share it. [1:16:25] So what does she do? [1:16:27] She says. [1:16:28] She says. [1:16:28] I sense the face of what I'm saying. [1:16:30] So we can all share. [1:16:31] It's not the look for it. [1:16:32] Hey, are you coming during the call at point memory? [1:16:34] And also about more really farms and the homes out there, I took our flyers out there [1:16:42] to their model homes, because those are the only contacts I have. [1:16:46] Is their model homes? [1:16:47] And I was like, hey, can you share this up out there? [1:16:49] I'm like, yeah, sure. [1:16:49] But if you guys have the HOA or whoever, somebody else that I can share that information directly with, I'm happy to do that. [1:16:58] And when you're sure it out, and you also have to do, you can tag those on your following and have your kind of pages as well. [1:17:08] And I'll definitely follow with Jenna on that. [1:17:11] Perfect. [1:17:13] Well, I, and this is a little bit of a left turn, um, I, so I know that it was talked about the, [1:17:21] the, that's a call that is your whole board starting at the start of your view board. [1:17:27] Yeah. [1:17:27] It's sort of a viewboard, but also when we started the new process where they will come in and, you know, a certain thing will be fed to the city and the staff member will deal with approval on certain things and all that stuff with our base. [1:17:42] Well, so I just was wondering because we haven't talked about it since way back when and we're not seeing any historical things come through. [1:17:51] So in the scope of like just covering all the vases for what I was saying earlier, has that happen? [1:17:57] When will that happen? What's going to happen with that? [1:18:00] I know we're feeding stuff through the pipeline of like certain things will just go be handled by staff members. [1:18:08] But we at the time when we talked about that we asked that there still be a report which like what happens here. [1:18:15] These things came through this month, this is the feedback that we gave them. [1:18:20] These things were approved and these things are these projects are moving forward so that we're informed as a board. [1:18:28] And that's my question, are we still doing that? [1:18:31] Are we still having, are we still historical, whatever they want to call us? [1:18:38] Because I'm just now seeing mainstream advisory board where it was before it was mainstream, so it said all the way. [1:18:44] I don't remember, that's what I'm saying. [1:18:47] And the interest of having it all be clear and moving forward for me. [1:18:51] We did a job description. [1:18:53] Oh, yeah. [1:18:54] The board? [1:18:54] The board. [1:18:56] Oh. [1:18:56] Let me address that. [1:18:57] And then he's going to address your historic work. [1:19:00] So last time when we met it was like, hey, we don't know our roles in our responsibilities. [1:19:03] We want to understand that. [1:19:05] So I wanted to give an update on that internally, the city as a, like, every department that [1:19:11] has a board. [1:19:12] we are currently reviewing our boards and commission handbook and getting it all like clean [1:19:19] up updated all that so that that is going to be coming to you guys as soon as it's finalized and [1:19:26] approved and it has to go probably to our attorney to make sure that you know we did all the things [1:19:32] so that is happening so I just want you to know that that's a thing [1:19:38] And also, it was the other thing, the historical, the historic review board, so thank you. [1:19:48] I know that it is going to be coming off a main street, and I think that's going to be within the next few months. [1:19:56] I'm going to go before the appointment. [1:20:02] So city council will be making new appointments in June. [1:20:05] They just did a big push for people to turn in applications. [1:20:08] If they want to be on the board. [1:20:11] And so that's going to be city council's going to vote on those in June. [1:20:16] And those terms will begin in July as my understanding. [1:20:19] And so at that point like handbook should be done and ready and coming to you. [1:20:23] And then we should be getting new members to hopefully, and then yes, our understanding was a historical viewboard is going to be the historical viewboard in the mainstream we're going to be separate. [1:20:36] And so this will be mainstream board and then historical viewboard is going to be its own thing under it was previous, like it was previously, yes, before it was merged with things, yes. [1:20:47] What about those members that were on that historic review board that were pushed over to [1:20:54] Main Street? [1:20:55] Would they be able to move back with their historic review board that was their number one [1:21:01] choice, why they're even on the board today? [1:21:04] I would say that they need to apply just like everyone else would be my thought and they need [1:21:08] to say, you know, in your application, say not. [1:21:11] Put me back in my chair. [1:21:13] Yeah. [1:21:13] But I can ask about that and I can get your answer. [1:21:17] Because I do know that that is, I know, I'm going to speak on the Debbie's behalf. [1:21:23] I know that that's what happened to Debbie. [1:21:25] And it's forced to be a part of she was. [1:21:27] She was. [1:21:28] She was. [1:21:29] We all know that that's her heart. [1:21:32] And there's nothing wrong with that. [1:21:33] That she cares about our historic guidelines. [1:21:36] And that happened to her where she was pushed over here. [1:21:39] And now we're separating it out. [1:21:40] and there has not been any kind of contact on us as a board. [1:21:44] Like, who where you guys want to go? [1:21:47] And in fact, I've heard other words. [1:21:50] For me, especially, that I can't be on a historic board [1:21:54] going forward. [1:21:58] So the concern is, with the purpose, [1:22:03] one layer of the moving forward, that we are staying clear [1:22:08] with our citizens that want to be involved in these things and not [1:22:15] shuffling papers and keeping everybody confused. That's all. I wanted to be [1:22:21] on the record like that. Just jot your name down then you can speak [1:22:24] sure. We're off the rails today it's fine. Too bad there's not a city. [1:22:30] So remember, here to start an us up. [1:22:34] It's not being a thing. It's not. It's like, only as it is, do you know that it is? [1:22:42] I'm worrying parody, 144 Lakeview Circle. My question is, Jason. When the applications are going out for a mainstream, [1:22:54] is it going to be noted that there's going to be a new board, there's a stroke of board? [1:22:58] Because I know that there, you know, all the other boards, MD, MD, MD, MD, MD, PNZ, but I haven't seen anything about the historical review boards. [1:23:09] So is that going to be noted and advertised? [1:23:12] It will be. [1:23:13] That's it. [1:23:14] The way you for it to be able, or the break-off. [1:23:18] Sorry, but I'll give you another big thing. [1:23:20] They were waiting on some, something to come back from our attorney. [1:23:24] And once we got that back then, they were going to be able to do that. [1:23:27] So it should be going out there as an option, yes. [1:23:32] Okay, because I thought I heard you say that after all these assignments were made in June, [1:23:39] then that new board would be created now. [1:23:42] Sorry. [1:23:42] I just did it. [1:23:43] So this, let's going to have it before. [1:23:45] So that people can be able to get to it in June. [1:23:48] Okay, because applications have to be in the end of April. [1:23:51] So that's not a lot of time. [1:23:55] Thank you for that time, and I'll let me out to talk to her. [1:23:59] I have to start by. [1:24:00] Maureen, did you state your name and entrance? [1:24:02] I did. [1:24:02] Okay. [1:24:03] She said it softly. [1:24:07] She's a lady. [1:24:08] You're fine. [1:24:09] Okay. [1:24:09] That was my only question. [1:24:11] Thank you. [1:24:11] Good question. [1:24:13] There's going to be a new board. [1:24:15] People are going to need to know about it. [1:24:17] I'm not going to say for sure. [1:24:19] What happened? [1:24:19] Thank you for that question. [1:24:34] All right, y'all, we got anything else that has to go in grinding? [1:24:43] No? [1:24:44] No. [1:24:44] Okay. [1:24:44] We need a motion to adjourn. [1:24:46] All motion to adjourn. [1:24:49] Who's on favor of adjourning? [1:24:51] Aye. [1:24:52] Thank you everybody.
