[7:45] Votre ancienne fonction. We have the great [8:01] pleasure of having our new city [8:06] manager, Ms. Karina -- with us [8:08] tonight. We are fortunate to [8:10] have hired a person in four [8:11] calibre. First, I would like to [8:13] point out that she's the first [8:14] woman to hold this position for [8:16] Pointe-Claire. Her diverse [8:17] background is impressive. She [8:19] holds a bachelors degree in [8:21] business administration with a [8:23] specialization in marketing, [8:25] from -- to join us, he has just [8:27] left the position of general [8:29] manager and city clerk, the City [8:31] of -- she game solid experience [8:36] in managing municipal activities [8:40] as economic development -- where [8:43] she worked for several years. In [8:46] addition, Karina Verdon was [8:48] general manager of -- of Québec. [8:51] We are convinced that her vision [8:53] and knowledge, particularly in [8:54] the area business community [8:55] development, will greatly [8:58] benefit Pointe-Claire and that [8:59] she will be an important asset [9:01] for our wonderful city. Welcome [9:03] to Pointe-Claire. We have [9:06] already welcomed you, but [9:07] welcome in [9:09] I would also like to thank [9:11] warmly, the interim city [9:13] manager, ensuring a smooth [9:16] transition between the departure [9:17] of the former general manager [9:19] Mr. Weemaes, and the arrival of [9:24] Karina Verdon I and I know you [9:25] cannot wait to return to old [9:29] position, -- [9:33] Fluoration de l'eau, lors de [9:35] quelques séances des conseils [9:36] précédents, des citoyens de [9:38] Pointe-Claire sont venus ainsi [9:40] exprimer leurs inquiétudes et [9:42] préoccupations quant à l'ajout [9:43] du fluor dans l'eau potable. Fluoridation of water. During [11:47] some of the previous City [11:48] Council meetings, citizens have [11:50] Pointe-Claire expressed their [11:51] worries and concerns about the [11:52] addition of fluoride to drinking [11:53] water. I want to make a few [11:55] points to clarify the City of [12:05] Pointe-Claire's role in the [12:06] fluoridation of drinking water. [12:07] -- this production plant [12:09] supplies drinking water to the [12:10] city of Pointe-Claire and four [12:13] other cities in the West Island [12:15] -- Beaconsfield, -- and part of [12:18] Dollard-Des Ormeaux. In 2000, in [12:20] the fluoridation of drinking [12:21] water was added to this plants [12:23] new facility. Despite scientific [12:25] support for the fluoridation of [12:26] water, both from the -- and the [12:33] institute -- citizens are [12:35] concerned about the effect of [12:37] fluoride unhealthy would like [12:38] the City to stop adding fluoride [12:40] to drinking water. Tonight, I [12:41] want to clarify that these [12:43] requests fall outside the scope [12:45] of the city's responsibility. We [12:47] are not scientists, so we cannot [12:49] comment on the benefits or [12:50] dangers of adding four to [12:52] drinking water. Requests to this [12:54] effect must be made to the [12:58] minister and the institute. I [13:01] also invite citizens interested [13:03] in the subject to consult the [13:05] information on the fluoridation [13:06] of drinking water on the [13:11] websites of the minister and [13:13] Public Health Institute. You can [13:15] also consult information about [13:18] the -- H two O Pointe-Claire [13:20] website. Thank you for your [13:22] attention. For the [16:00] question period, we shall stick [16:01] to the 19 minutes time limit for [16:03] question period. We will begin [16:05] with questions for Pointe-Claire [16:07] residents and address questions [16:08] from developers only after these [16:10] have been answered. [16:12] Thank you. [16:15] -- [16:16] >> Prince Edward, Pointe-Claire. [16:19] Hi, everyone did. I will start [16:21] in French. Notre fondation est [16:47] basée sur les valeurs fortes, [16:51] notamment I always have trouble [16:52] with this one, [16:53] (---) [16:54] . Paul. A political. [17:06] Well we have a website to [17:07] explain all the basics about us, [17:09] and a Facebook page to share [17:11] updates, our primary means of [17:13] interaction is face to face. [17:15] While social media serves a [17:17] valuable purpose, nothing beats [17:19] being in person with a smile and [17:21] a handshake to help achieve our [17:23] objectives. Our first public [17:25] meeting last week was a big [17:26] success. By discussing our [17:28] purpose and having a great [17:29] exchange of ideas and potential [17:32] projects, we are very excited to [17:34] see how our grassroot [17:36] associations can grow. The website is quite simple. [17:59] -- would Council be willing to [18:00] support the newly formed [18:02] Pointe-Claire citizens [18:05] association? And that is, I [18:07] believe, a copy of the bylaws [18:11] and the little preamble. We are, [18:16] as I said, a political. We are [18:18] not an opposition to Council. We [18:20] wish to work with Council on [18:25] projects and fun ideas also, [18:28] beautification of Pointe-Claire [18:29] and so forth. [18:31] >> Do you want moral support or [18:33] do you want financial support? [18:35] >> At this point in time, we [18:37] will take, is, don't nations, [18:41] but we are on a fund raising [18:45] road right now. Because, yes, we [18:47] are registered, but we have not [18:51] incorporated, nor have we the [18:52] insurance ease public buildings. [18:53] So, we have been using [18:57] restaurants and other adult [18:59] establishments to hold these [19:01] meetings. An adult beverage [19:03] makes things a little smoother, [19:04] sometimes, sometimes it can make [19:05] things go the other way as well. [19:08] But we are off to a good start. [19:11] It is in six months of the [19:13] planning and we had our first [19:15] meeting last week. And nice [19:18] turnout -- we will be meeting [19:21] once a month, the second one day [19:22] of every month, at various [19:24] locations. [19:25] >> Okay. I can't speak for [19:27] Council. I applaud the [19:28] initiative. And I wish you well. [19:31] >> Thank you. [19:32] >> I am sure the rest of Council [19:35] concurs. [19:36] >> It's not a big secret. The [19:38] rest of word has been getting [19:39] Merci Monsieur. Around. [19:40] >> Thanks for doing it, good [19:41] luck. [19:53] Good evening, Lynn Conway. Karina Verdon. For my [20:13] first question, I have a few [20:14] points, a, B, C. Something odd [20:18] happened here at the last [20:19] council meeting and I thought it [20:20] was too important to let it [20:21] pass. There was an explanation [20:24] given why Councillor Tedford was [20:27] not there. She was followed to [20:29] her car and was harassed by -- [20:31] developer after the September [20:33] meeting. After this, she was not [20:35] present at the October meeting. [20:40] B, the October council meeting [20:42] before the October -- of the [20:45] agenda. Councillor [20:48] Thorstad-Cullen felt it was [20:49] essential to state, that, at the [20:52] September 6th meeting, [20:53] Councillor Tedford did not speak [20:54] on behalf of Council and did not [20:57] support her comments. So, this [20:59] was in regards to the comments [21:01] for a new vote, for the -- [21:03] project at -- the Third [21:04] building, from my understanding. [21:07] Councillor Thorstad-Cullen said [21:10] about Councillor Tedford, there [21:12] were own opinions. This was [21:14] echoed by other councillors. -- [21:19] and Eric Stork. I we listen to [21:22] the video and I took notes. C, [21:28] the fact Councillor Tedford had [21:30] explained in -- the project had [21:31] various issues, including [21:33] accessibility issues, no card [21:36] charging stations, no commercial [21:38] business on the first floor, no [21:40] landscaping plans. I want to [21:42] acknowledge and thank councillor [21:44] Tedford for her courage and [21:47] standing up, and I wish other [21:49] councillors can learn from her. [21:51] So, my question is, how is it [21:53] possible that there is such a [21:54] disconnect in understanding the [21:56] City bylaws in regards to [21:58] issuing permits to developers. [22:01] >> Just before I give my answer, [22:03] would anybody like to speak, [22:05] because they were named [22:07] personally? [22:08] >> I will not go into detail, [22:09] but the reason we needed to make [22:10] a statement was that comments [22:11] that were made publicly were [22:13] erroneous. And so, everyone can [22:16] have their own opinion. But as [22:18] president of the Planning [22:19] Advisory Committee, if there is [22:21] erroneous information shared, we [22:22] do need to make a statement. But [22:23] we are not going to get into the [22:25] details of that. That's the [22:26] reason why some of us needed to [22:28] say what we said. Just because [22:31] somebody says it here does not [22:32] make it true. [22:34] >> Eric? [22:39] >> As a member of the Planning [22:43] Advisory Committee -- I believe [22:46] my research was erroneous and my [22:49] simple -- she speaks on her own [22:51] and she is entitled to say what [22:52] she says but I stand with the [22:54] fact that what she said was [22:55] erroneous. Thank you. [22:59] >> Anyone else? Okay. My own [23:05] personal opinion on this matter [23:08] but -- I'm not convinced what [23:10] she said was erroneous. I think [23:11] that remains to be researched, [23:13] which we are doing. I spoke [23:18] fairly clearly to this the last [23:19] time, and I will say it again, [23:21] and I would like to alert the [23:24] gentleman who yelled or -- I [23:26] heard an outcry from the crowd [23:28] at one point, just a few minutes [23:29] ago. The representative from [23:37] Sotramont yelled twice while [23:40] Councillor Tedford was [23:41] presenting her defence of her [23:43] vote. She was explaining her [23:46] vote. That is her job. Okay? She [23:49] is never supposed to get yelled [23:50] at when she is explaining her [23:53] vote, nor is she expected to be [23:56] a costed outside in the parking [23:59] lot in a group that I was part [24:02] of by the same gentlemen, nor is [24:05] she expected, with other [24:06] members, to wait for public [24:08] security to deal with this [24:11] gentleman before he left because [24:12] he would not leave willingly. [24:15] The same gentlemen wrote an [24:19] email demanding, effectively, [24:21] retribution, or denunciation of [24:24] her point of view in council [24:25] meeting. My perspective on this [24:30] is, the gentleman yelled in the [24:32] meeting, was disrespectful to [24:34] Pointe-Claire their, was [24:37] disrespectful to elected [24:38] officials in the parking lot. [24:42] One, and achieve what he was [24:44] seeking in the vote, but that [24:45] was not sufficient. Then he [24:48] wanted some kind of penalty for [24:51] that person's behaviour. That [24:54] person's behaviour, for me, was [24:57] democratic behaviour. I thought [24:58] that was pretty audacious on my [24:59] part. And I felt that he -- [25:03] rewarded for his behaviour [25:04] regardless of how people felt. [25:06] And that is my perspective. That [25:08] is how I feel. [25:12] >> Thank you. So, my comment [25:15] would be on that, I think the [25:16] citizens of Pointe-Claire -- we [25:18] know Council is very [25:19] professional in the past but I [25:20] think the citizens of [25:21] Pointe-Claire, they deserve more [25:24] clarification with the [25:25] councillors as to understanding [25:27] the bylaws. If there is a clear [25:30] understanding, it's like a [25:31] restaurant having a checklist. [25:33] You know? Is it clean? Yes, you [25:34] can open. Are there rats? No, [25:36] you can't open. There should be [25:38] a checklist of things, yes, yes, [25:39] yes, yes you get your permit. It [25:42] should not be -- where people [25:45] have an opinion or -- why is [25:49] there such thing as an opinion? [25:51] You just check mark yes or no. [25:53] If it is no, it is no. [25:56] >> Well, that is the ideal. We [25:58] hope that we get processes that [26:00] resemble that. I agree. [26:03] >> So, before I go to my other [26:05] topic -- [26:06] >> Hang on -- [26:08] >> Comment at the last public [26:09] council meeting, I did forget to [26:10] say something, which is very [26:11] important. I concur that I [26:13] deplore the actions of what [26:16] happened at that council meeting [26:17] towards Council are Tedford, but [26:18] I have to be able to separate [26:20] those two actions, but I do [26:21] deplore the actions that [26:22] happened because they were not [26:23] right. I wanted to mention that [26:26] last meeting and I forgot but I [26:27] am making that statement now. [26:30] >> I would like to see her back [26:32] in Council. She is not there [26:33] tonight, obviously. She has been [26:35] traumatized. [26:37] >> Me as well. [26:38] >> I watch the video again. And [26:40] what I heard was not very [26:42] pleasant. And I wish you would [26:44] come back. Because we need young [26:45] people and fresh minds and smart [26:48] people. [26:49] >> Okay. Thank you. She will [26:51] appreciate that. [26:52] >> Yes, we want you, Erin [26:54] Tedford. Please come back at the [26:57] December meeting. [26:58] [Laughs] [26:59] is it possible, before I go to [27:00] my next topic -- is it possible [27:02] to bring back the podium? [27:04] Because I have papers and we [27:06] used to have a podium for the -- [27:08] renovated. So -- [27:10] >> Do we have a podium? [27:12] >> -- at some point, with the [27:15] next meeting. [27:16] >> I always work with the podium [27:17] as well. It's right here. [27:33] >> It's would, we can't raise or [27:35] lower it. You might have to sit [27:36] on your tiptoes. [27:43] >> Thank you. My other [27:45] suggestion is -- it's not my [27:46] second question. But, just [27:47] quickly, is it possible to have [27:49] a system where we can, when we [27:51] arrive, take a number, to come [27:53] speak at the podium? So we are [27:54] not all lining up and -- over [27:58] each other. COVID is still [28:00] active. It's just a suggestion. [28:02] >> It's not a bad idea. When we [28:04] come, we take a number. [28:08] >> Like going into the blood [28:09] testing room or something? He [28:11] just take a -- yep, that makes [28:13] sense to me. [28:14] >> Thank you. So, my question is [28:18] about the urban plan -- it's [28:21] just a case to know what the [28:22] progression is. Are there any [28:24] obstacles or issues? [28:25] >> Not as of yet. I think we [28:30] would all prefer it going a [28:31] little quicker. I think we [28:32] would, all including the mayor, [28:35] that we get a little further on [28:37] in the process a little more [28:38] quickly. But we are moving [28:40] ahead. We have done a big step [28:46] tonight but, which we all agreed [28:47] on, so, hopefully, we will keep [28:49] the progress going. [28:51] >> Thank you. [28:52] >> Thanks. [29:03] >> Good evening, council members [29:05] and attendees, and -- in [29:09] district eight and I have two [29:10] preamble's into questions, and I [29:11] will try to keep them very [29:12] brief. The first is the subject [29:16] is, an appeal to change, [29:20] Columbus streets name located [29:21] off of Hymus in district eight. [29:23] It represents Pointe-Claire [29:27] residents and Indigenous peoples [29:29] of the world. -- as a gang of [29:31] thieves, mass murderers and [29:33] rapists, they genocide the [29:37] native population of the island [29:43] of Hispaniola, now how [29:44] modern-day Haiti and the [29:45] Dominican republic. -- either [29:46] collect gold or die. 50,000 [29:49] chose suicide instead. All this [29:50] in addition to numerous [29:52] atrocities which can easily be [29:53] found with a simple search. And [29:55] in keeping with the values of [29:57] diversity and inclusivity, I [29:59] feel that the Columbus Street [30:01] should be renamed as soon as [30:02] possible as a legacy of this [30:05] man, a -- people who have been [30:09] historical subjects of colonial [30:10] rule and a question to that is, [30:11] how much longer should [30:14] Pointe-Claire motorists have to [30:15] drive by a street named after a [30:17] man now known as the father of [30:19] the slave trade? Also, I have [30:23] spoken to various native leaders [30:26] of communities nearby, and [30:28] they're also offended by this [30:29] and would like to see the name [30:33] changed. The sign is also [30:35] defective. So, if you look at [30:36] the sign it was created, [30:41] fabricated as a typo and it was [30:43] corrected after. So, the two [30:47] signs look -- it does not look [30:48] correct when you look at it. It [30:49] looks like it was vandalized or [30:52] someone something is removed off [30:53] it. Even more reason to remove [30:54] it. [31:02] -- upcoming lawsuit and the [31:09] subject is that Robert -- and it [31:15] is growing. Their ways no [31:20] mandate. The organizations we [31:22] mentioned earlier, just that [31:25] mandate fluoridation. It's an [31:27] active decision taken on by the [31:30] City of Pointe-Claire. They are [31:32] not mandated to floor date. So, [31:33] the preamble is considered the [31:37] -- agency right now. And a [31:40] serious discovery has been made [31:41] their, such as a national [31:43] toxicology programs for reviews, [31:44] that each find out fluoridation [31:46] chemicals are narrow toxic and [31:47] even small quantities, which is [31:49] no surprise, considering that [31:51] the flight chemicals being used [31:53] in Pointe-Claire is contaminate [31:54] with trace levels of arsenic and [31:55] lead. According to documents I [31:59] have obtained through access to [32:01] information, which all members [32:02] of this council now have, [32:03] because you have been aware of [32:04] this since last meeting and I [32:08] emailed you these documents, and [32:09] also that the judge presiding [32:10] over that federal case will [32:11] probably rule in 2023 that [32:14] fluoridation is narrow toxic, [32:18] and will probably end [32:19] fluoridation for a lot of [32:21] communities overnight. Based on [32:22] what he has already said so far, [32:23] as I mentioned, it is not [32:24] mandated by any organization. [32:28] When I speak to people in [32:30] Montréal, they say talk to your [32:31] mayor. And you as the Mayor can [32:34] tell the -- in that Council, no [32:38] longer want fluoridation, [32:40] because the parties I've spoken, [32:41] do they don't care about it out [32:43] there. -- I'm not offended [32:46] fluoridation. So, the question [32:48] is, if this were a lawsuit over [32:52] fluoridation, with a city of [32:53] Pointe-Claire -- it already has [32:55] plans to be phased out. And then [32:58] already knows now through this [32:59] survey -- shown to the Council [33:00] that the majority of councils [33:03] already want eight terminated. [33:04] Those -- [33:05] >> The majority of councillors? [33:07] >> The majority of households, [33:09] sorry. The majority of [33:11] households wanted terminated, as [33:13] it's now 76% of households at [33:16] the last 1200 house -- between [33:18] yes and no, 76% want it to end. [33:23] >> 70 -- 76% of how many? [33:26] >> 1200 households. Between yes [33:28] and no. [33:29] >> Okay. I have a couple of [33:32] takes on that one. -- and a [33:37] human response, to any human [33:38] response. That means, I don't [33:40] speak English, got to go out and [33:41] get my groceries, I'm about to [33:44] walk my dog, that's a no [33:47] immediately. If you look at know [33:49] -- that gives you an idea of, [33:50] there was a referendum. It would [33:53] be defeated at the ballot, which [33:55] it has been, at many other [33:56] places. [33:58] >> You think. -- until we know. [34:00] We have to hold a referendum [34:01] until we know the truth. [34:03] >> -- the chemicals are not [34:05] approved by regulated -- and the [34:06] stuff is contaminated with lead [34:08] and arsenic. So, even if the [34:10] majority -- [34:11] >> Which, I might add, is [34:13] naturally occurring. There is [34:15] natural occurrence of fluoride [34:17] in water. [34:18] >> Yeah, but it's not a product [34:21] of industrial waste that comes [34:23] from fertilizer phosphate [34:25] factories factories in chimney [34:27] stacks. It's occurring naturally [34:29] but it still causes problems to [34:32] nature or it doesn't. -- [34:34] fluoride. [34:35] >> Okay. First of all, let me [34:39] address the chemistry, which is [34:42] really interesting, and [34:47] eye-opening, and will definitely [34:48] look into that. I cannot speak [34:50] for Council. But I think you [34:51] raise a valid issue. Columbus [34:55] holiday has been changed in [34:58] (interpreter) [34:59] -- places in the United States. [35:00] >> Fair enough. I can't speak [35:01] for everybody but it is a valid [35:04] issue. So, we want to talk that [35:05] went out for sure, I promise [35:07] you. That's for sure. As for the [35:11] mandated -- those mandated and [35:13] wanted, it is wanted. If there [35:15] are people that want fluoride in [35:17] water, the other issue is -- [35:21] >> The bodies that you mentioned [35:24] in previous notes, those bodies [35:27] don't mandate fluoridation. It's [35:29] a legal -- [35:30] >> I already spoke to the [35:32] mandated and I use the term [35:33] wanted because there is a large [35:35] community out there that wants [35:36] fluoride in the water, which we [35:37] have to respect. We cannot just [35:39] deny their existence. So, in the [35:43] democratic process, and I would [35:44] like to speak now, sir -- so, [35:49] what I'm saying here tonight is [35:51] that we are not scientists. We [35:53] are not capable of giving the [35:55] right decision on this issue [35:56] because we are not [35:58] scientifically informed enough. [35:59] So, we will defer to people who [36:01] are. [36:03] And we are not going to make a [36:05] decision that we don't have [36:07] sufficient understanding to me. [36:08] So, we would defer to the [36:10] professionals, to the people [36:11] that do this for a living, that [36:13] really know the nuances of the [36:15] science and we will listen to [36:16] them. The other point I would [36:17] make to that is that we have [36:20] four other cities involved. So, [36:23] we just can't decide for Dollard [36:26] or -- or Beaconsfield or [36:28] whomever. We cannot do that. [36:31] That is not our -- not only are [36:33] we not responsible, but we are [36:37] not mandated. All I can say to [36:40] you is that -- I, mean there may [36:43] be a referendum, maybe a good [36:44] way of determining the issue. [36:46] But we as Council, right at this [36:47] moment, cannot decide that, nor [36:50] do we want to, because we are [36:51] not informed enough. [36:52] >> The question was, if a [36:57] lawsuit process regarding the [36:58] City subject, with the City [36:59] waste tax money to defend [37:02] fluoridation, considering the [37:03] discoveries that are being made [37:06] at the survey that has been [37:08] shown. [37:09] >> My answer to that, I can't [37:11] answer for all of Council on [37:12] that one, first of all, and I'm [37:13] certainly not going to make that [37:14] call myself, from the microphone [37:16] here. But I think we need legal [37:21] advisement and I need to know [37:23] the likelihood of the lawsuit [37:24] any to know the potential of the [37:26] -- all these factor into that [37:28] decision, which I don't have in [37:29] my hands at the moment, so I [37:30] can't answer that question. [37:34] >> Thank you. Why. [40:43] (---) [40:44] . [40:45] - Ce n'est pas le maire, ce sont [40:46] les conseillers et le conseil [40:47] qui décide. [40:49] - Ne faites rien. [40:50] - C'est l'agglomération qui [40:51] décide, on n'a aucune [40:52] responsabilité. [40:55] - Non, les autres villes ne [40:56] l'ont pas. Si la Ville... [41:00] - Tous les autres villes ont [41:01] parlé aussi. [41:03] - Lac-Mégantic ne l'ont pas, [41:04] Sherbrooke... [41:06] - Je comprends. On a quatre [41:10] autres villes. [42:04] - Merci. Tu l'as à 50 ans. [42:16] (inaudible) [42:17] (---) [42:18] . [43:39] Anyone going to answer? [43:40] >> What's the question, please? [43:42] >> What was written in the [43:44] three-year investment program, [43:47] under parks and green spaces, [43:50] $50,000 was allotted to [43:52] inventory and management plan [43:54] for invasive species. And was [43:56] wooden under subsequent. So, I [43:59] was wondering if this is an [44:00] update to past work or [44:01] something, what does subsequent [44:03] actually mean? Because it had no [44:05] date and doesn't go with the [44:08] other dates privately. [44:11] Previously. [44:12] >> Mr. second, do you know what [44:13] subsequent means in that [44:14] context? [44:16] >> The project that has not yet [44:19] been prioritized, so therefore, [44:21] that's why it is in the [44:23] subsequent column. [44:24] >> Okay, so it could be under [44:27] 2023 or 24? [44:29] >> Every year, council votes on [44:32] various projects and all the [44:34] projects are prioritized. This [44:37] one is in the column called [44:40] subsequent hearings. Therefore, [44:41] it's not prioritize at the [44:42] moment. [44:43] >> I know because I didn't [44:45] understand it, because I know [44:46] that they're already starting to [44:48] work on the buck thorn and [44:49] terracotta, things like that. [44:50] So, didn't know whether it [44:52] referred to other work that was [44:54] before it. Okay, and so in my [44:59] second one is quick. It's an [45:00] awful world that you put [45:02] yourself into, or so you stated [45:03] in your one email out you sent [45:06] out in September to everyone. [45:07] So, how do you rate, for your [45:09] first year in office? Mr. [45:11] Thomas. [45:12] >> How do I write my first year [45:13] in office? Good open-ended [45:16] question and I thank you for it. [45:20] Do you want me to rate myself? [45:22] That is a tough thing to do. I [45:25] would say I'm just outstanding. [45:27] I think I've done a great job [45:31] and I can't think of a bitter [45:33] mayor to have taken the job. [45:34] [Laughs] [45:38] in all seriousness, I'm quite [45:44] appreciative of what's happened, [45:45] a lot of what's happened in the [45:47] last year. We had our [45:51] recreational facility named [45:52] after our first female mayor, we [45:56] had to, not one, but to [45:58] development freezes on the [46:00] Fairview forest. We had a deal [46:05] made on the windmill, which [46:07] hadn't happened in decades. Let [46:09] me think. We hired our first [46:14] women director general, the G, [46:16] who hopefully will be as [46:18] excellent as our first mayor. [46:20] Yeah what else? We have another [46:23] pending goody that is coming [46:24] that I'm very, very pleased [46:27] about. We are there things I [46:30] would like? I would really like [46:32] more affordable housing. That is [46:33] a goal I would like to go after [46:35] that we don't have yet. I think [46:37] all of us are working on a new [46:38] urban plan. I think we want to [46:42] bring children back into -- [46:45] becoming two senior. I think if [46:46] there are flaws, we are becoming [46:47] too old and too rich, and we're [46:49] not replenishing our sports, our [46:50] culture of sports and [46:51] development of Pointe-Claire [46:53] that we've done superbly over [46:54] the last decades. I think we [46:57] need more children in the [46:58] community. I think there are [46:59] lots of things we could still [47:01] improve on. I think we could [47:02] have better roads, we hear that [47:03] all the time. So, there are [47:06] things, many things ahead of us. [47:08] And I'm not sure, you know, I'm [47:11] probably forgetting more stuff [47:13] that I shouldn't. But overall, [47:16] Miss, not so bad. You know, I [47:17] think it's not so bad. I like to [47:18] look on the sunny side of life [47:20] and I think things turn out [47:21] better when you do look on the [47:22] sunny side of life, so it's [47:25] called the self fulfilling [47:26] prophecy. If you build it, they [47:27] will come. [47:33] >> Good evening. -- Mayor and [47:37] City Council. I thank you for [47:41] your positives, thank you. That [47:42] is very good. [47:43] [Laughs] [47:45] she read my mind, that was my [47:47] question, really. First, we [47:52] welcome Mrs. Verdun. You are [47:57] welcomed in Pointe-Claire and we [47:58] wish you all the best and [48:00] success to keep our city, the [48:03] green city, and take care of our [48:05] environment. Please, we thank [48:06] you. In advance. So, my very [48:14] first question, how, with all [48:17] the obstacles and challenges, [48:20] you've got it when you started. [48:24] How are you planning for the [48:26] next year or for another three [48:28] years to fulfill all your [48:30] promises for the environment, [48:33] for the green space, stopping [48:38] all the high rise buildings and [48:40] condos, keep our city garden [48:46] city to be an example for all of [48:49] Québec. So, please, you can talk [48:52] in detail about all that, that [48:54] is to know what the plan and [48:56] what the obstacles, and what, as [48:59] a citizen, to help fulfill all [49:04] what you've spoken about before. [49:08] Before the election. [49:09] >> Well, that is a big question. [49:13] We [49:14] >> Have to help each other. We [49:16] are citizens, we elect you, and [49:18] we have to work with you to get [49:20] our city better, and better, for [49:22] next generations, for our kids. [49:25] We did our duty and it -- [49:27] thanks, God. Now we have to plan [49:31] for the next generation. The [49:33] same with the previous [49:34] generation did for us. We have [49:36] nice houses, niceties, have to [49:39] keep it better for next [49:40] generation. That is our duty. [49:43] >> The nice houses is a really [49:46] challenging part. [49:47] >> Affordable. [49:48] >> Nice town houses, condos, [49:51] duplexes, who knows? The single [49:53] family home with the front and [49:56] backyard is a challenge, for [49:57] sure. It is a challenge with [49:59] densification and the cost of [50:00] housing, it's a real challenge. [50:04] For all of us and this challenge [50:05] is not mine. This challenge is [50:07] all of yours up here. The [50:12] environment, it's a huge [50:16] challenge. All you can do is [50:18] carry on and wake up, and try in [50:21] every implemented way to [50:23] accomplish those things. That [50:25] you are hoping to accomplish. [50:26] You do the best you can with [50:27] every single decision and you [50:30] hope you get others to help you [50:31] do so, and hopefully you get [50:33] support from citizenry to do so, [50:35] and you hope, that's all you can [50:37] do is carry on and speak [50:40] positively, try and set a goal, [50:42] and hopefully you get there. Who [50:45] knows. I don't know, I haven't [50:47] thought about that. Hopefully [50:48] that makes sense. [50:49] >> We can have a plan for that [50:51] -- [50:52] >> We are making a plan, we are [50:53] in the process, as you know, [50:55] Council is in the process of [50:56] making a plan. We have all kinds [50:59] of, we are meeting regularly and [51:01] we're about to make that plan. [51:03] That plan is really important [51:04] and we all know it. And we are [51:06] working for it, and hopefully it [51:07] will turn out to your liking. [51:09] Hopefully it will turn out to [51:11] the citizens of Pointe-Claire's [51:12] liking and we will have done a [51:13] really good job. [51:16] >> Our city, our home, we have [51:18] to work all together to make it [51:20] better. [51:21] >> We know that, we know that. I [51:22] think all of us love [51:23] Pointe-Claire and we all know [51:24] that. It's a beautiful city and [51:25] we want to keep it that way, for [51:29] sure. [51:30] >> For the future, you didn't [51:31] tell me about what you're doing [51:33] for the future, what you are [51:34] going to do. Because you have a [51:36] lot of, you know, challenges. [51:38] >> We are developing an urban [51:40] plan and we are trying to [51:41] protect green spaces, and we're [51:43] doing our best to stop the [51:46] cutting of our foliage and our [51:49] canopy, our tree canopy. We're [51:51] doing a lot of things, you know, [51:53] we're trying to enforce building [51:56] environmental standards on new [51:59] constructions. We are trying to [52:01] do all kinds of things. Whether [52:03] it's enough, whether we're [52:04] fasten off is a challenge, that [52:05] is for sure. I mean, you know, [52:08] even one of the topics now, the [52:12] topic of natural gardens. Which [52:16] is an urban environmental [52:17] decision, which is interesting, [52:19] where people can make force in [52:21] their front lawns, whether [52:23] they're aesthetic or not is the [52:24] issue, but it's a way to fight [52:26] climate change. It's an [52:27] interesting issue that we have [52:28] to tackle. It's just one of the [52:29] ones I'm thinking of. Protecting [52:31] the forest, of course, is [52:33] paramount. Because trees keep us [52:36] alive. But so, I mean, I don't [52:39] know. I haven't thought this [52:40] out. I'm just reading it here, [52:43] sorry, go ahead. [52:45] >> Also you said -- stopping all [52:48] the high-rise buildings and the [52:49] condos. But I see [52:55] the city council is not on the [52:58] same page like you. [53:00] >> Well, we will see. We will [53:03] see. We don't know that for [53:05] sure. We don't know that for [53:08] sure, we have to see. What we [53:11] come up with an urban plan. We [53:14] can't judge people before we -- [53:16] I'm [53:17] >> Not judging. We tried to [53:19] convince them to help us. [53:21] >> Well, maybe they will. [53:24] >> I hope so. That is good. [53:26] >> Thank you. [53:33] [Inaudible] [53:35] >> If you keep very positive [53:37] like that, I can't help you. [53:39] >> The next question, please. [53:41] >> How many is that? That's a [53:44] lot of questions, I think. [53:47] >> No, that's all one question. [53:49] >> Is it short? [53:50] >> It's short. [53:51] >> One more? [53:52] >> Really it's -- upsetting and [53:56] was a shame. As a democratic [53:59] country, and respectful built on [54:06] -- [54:07] >> Please don't hackle. I mean, [54:09] -- [54:10] >> Democrat is built on honesty, [54:12] trust, and respect. The people. [54:15] So, when Mrs. that furred, she [54:21] said her opinion and nobody all [54:26] challenged her and to distance [54:27] themselves from her, and that is [54:32] meeting giving a greenlight for [54:33] the bully or somebody to harass, [54:37] that's okay? Because I don't [54:39] accept anyone to do that to you. [54:41] If anyone did that to any one of [54:42] you, I would be coming here to [54:45] defend and talk about it. [54:46] Because that is democratic. We [54:49] can't let somebody do that and [54:51] we let it go. That is a shame, [54:53] really. I'm talking as a [54:55] citizen, we don't have to let [54:58] anybody be bullied or harassed [55:03] for what she's saying. Because [55:05] with respect, she said untrue [55:09] that it she was doing her best. [55:10] Maybe you don't agree with her, [55:11] but you don't harass people. You [55:12] don't believe people. And you, [55:15] you go against or? Is that [55:16] right? If it happened to you -- [55:24] >> You need to point out you [55:25] need to separate the two issues. [55:26] None of us sitting at this table [55:28] ever would support bullying and [55:30] harassment and any context. [55:31] >> So you could say that. [55:33] >> And Eric did, but what we [55:34] needed to do as well is when [55:36] things are misspoken, from one [55:38] of these microphones and we [55:40] needed to correct it, that is [55:41] why we distance ourselves from [55:43] the comment that were made [55:44] erroneously. You were just [55:46] talking about wanting truth and [55:48] honesty. So when we feel that [55:50] something in our opinion is not [55:52] truthful and is erroneous, we [55:54] must speak up. So, I think you [55:56] need to listen also to our point [55:58] of view of what we are saying. [55:59] We never, ever, ever would allow [56:02] bullying and harassment and any [56:03] of our colleagues. There are two [56:05] separate issues and now you're [56:06] saying that I'm harassing her. [56:07] You are making accusations. [56:09] >> I'm not senior harassing her. [56:13] -- [56:14] >> Let's not have a debate from [56:15] the microphone. We've spoken to [56:19] the issue pretty much. [56:21] >> This is what I'm trying to [56:22] explain. We have to respect and [56:23] we have to, no, to make it [56:26] clear. [56:29] >> Thank you, thank you, thank [56:30] you, thank you,, that's good. We [56:32] are good. We've already, we've [56:34] spoken to the issues. We have [56:37] answered them. [56:38] >> I hope it never happens again [56:39] and what we do would never [56:41] happen again. -- we have to [56:44] respect everybody. All of you. I [56:47] don't wish that any of you -- [56:49] >> Sir, we've, that's good, [56:53] that's enough, okay? We are [56:54] good. No, stop, stop, stop, [56:58] please stop. I don't want to [56:59] have to shut you down. Okay? [57:03] Thank you. [57:04] >> Thank you. [57:09] >> Claude queasy know, [57:11] Pointe-Claire. I've been wanting [57:13] to ask a question, but since [57:17] first of all, I want to [57:18] apologize to Madam for [57:21] interrupting while she was [57:23] asking her question. And I agree [57:27] with you, sir, that it is on [57:32] tape, whatever. But what [57:34] happened out there is hearsay. [57:37] That is all it is. And I would [57:40] like you to acknowledge that. [57:42] Thank you. [57:44] >> Okay, I can certainly, please [57:46] don't go away. I was there. I [57:50] left because I did not feel, as [57:52] mayor, it was wise for me to [57:54] stick around. To get involved in [57:59] that kind of situation. I ran [58:01] from the situation, I must [58:03] honestly say, but I, please, I'm [58:05] answering your question, I was [58:07] there, okay? When the gentleman [58:09] came up to a group of citizens [58:12] talking, including me, okay? I [58:14] was there and saw that. We also [58:16] have on record our public [58:21] security who actually documented [58:22] what occurred. So, this is not [58:25] hearsay. There were five people [58:28] who all will account for exactly [58:30] what happened. Who are involved [58:31] in that process, plus [58:34] Pointe-Claire Public Security. [58:35] That is not hearsay. [58:39] >> Yes, a follow-up? I'm not [58:43] doubting that it did happen or [58:45] not. Where is the documentation? [58:50] Coming here and madame Thibault [58:54] could say that. Do you have [58:56] immunity? Can you say just about [59:01] anything? When I'm here. [59:05] >> When you are asking [59:06] questions? [59:09] >> Making a prelude. [59:11] >> Preamble? [59:12] >> Preamble and then asking a [59:14] question. Do I have immunity [59:17] when I do that? Or if I attack a [59:22] citizen or something like that, [59:24] could I be sued by asking a [59:26] question and making comments? [1:00:18] - O.K., merci. I, everybody. [1:00:26] Geneviève losing, district five. [1:00:28] Sorry to see Councillor -- not [1:00:29] here, I wish her all the best. [1:00:31] So, I had the privilege of [1:00:33] walking in Terra-Cotta often, [1:00:34] and I really appreciate the [1:00:36] informational panels that the [1:00:37] City have installed. The facts [1:00:39] about the brown snake near the [1:00:42] -- entrance. Clearly, the [1:00:44] administration understands how [1:00:45] unique and important the snake [1:00:46] is to PC, Pointe-Claire, is [1:00:49] biodiversity. Sorry, I'm reading [1:00:50] my own shorthand here. [1:00:53] Pointe-Claire's biodiversity, [1:00:54] especially since the status is [1:00:55] vulnerable and only exists in [1:00:56] the Greater Montréal area in [1:00:58] Québec. So, it really only [1:00:59] exists in urbanized [1:01:00] environments. About five years [1:01:01] ago, Brown stinks were removed [1:01:03] from a corner of Fairview forest [1:01:05] around the REM station now is. [1:01:09] And they were relocated in large [1:01:11] amounts in Terra-Cotta. And that [1:01:13] really concerns me, because [1:01:14] there's, like, zero data about [1:01:16] the viability of brown sneaks [1:01:17] when they relocated. There's, [1:01:18] like, zero data at the [1:01:20] provincial level and they're [1:01:21] considered vulnerable. So, I was [1:01:25] wondering, because I had heard [1:01:26] that there was going to be [1:01:27] studies going on in terracotta, [1:01:30] the population of brown sneaks, [1:01:31] I was wondering if we were privy [1:01:33] to that data and who did the [1:01:36] studies that came out, that you [1:01:37] did recently? [1:01:39] >> That is a great question. I [1:01:41] was highly suspect of the move, [1:01:43] you know? I think they change [1:01:44] their habitat and the encounter [1:01:46] different predators in a whole [1:01:47] different world, whether they [1:01:49] will even survive is highly [1:01:50] debatable. From what I [1:01:51] understand in the process, Mr. [1:01:54] sagging, do you know any results [1:01:57] or, no, right? [1:02:00] >> But those studies were done [1:02:01] by the City or where they done [1:02:02] by the -- [1:02:06] >> Yeah, we will have to find [1:02:08] that one out. It's a good [1:02:09] question. [1:02:10] >> So, the city doesn't know if [1:02:12] there were studies done? [1:02:13] >> Mr. Seguin and I don't know, [1:02:15] but there may be someone in the [1:02:16] city does, and we will find that [1:02:17] out. We will certainly ask [1:02:19] around. We will get on it right [1:02:22] away after the meeting. [1:02:23] >> I can't remember where I read [1:02:24] it or heard. It [1:02:25] >> It's a good question. [1:02:27] >> Online or on the website, but [1:02:28] it would really good to get an [1:02:29] answer. [1:02:30] >> There's a really good [1:02:31] possibility that one of our [1:02:33] specialists will know the answer [1:02:34] to that. Some of the people [1:02:35] involved. [1:02:36] >> That is really important. [1:02:37] >> Yes, it is. [1:02:39] >> There is zero information [1:02:40] about habitat change. [1:02:41] >> I didn't buy into the moving [1:02:42] in the first place, I agree with [1:02:43] you on that one. [1:02:44] >> Thank you very much. [1:02:45] >> Okay. [1:02:51] >> Hi. [1:02:52] >> Hi. [1:02:53] >> I have a fairly simple [1:02:54] question. What are -- [1:02:57] >> Sorry, can you just please [1:02:59] state your name for the minute? [1:03:00] >> -- I think I'm Lakeside [1:03:03] Heights. What are the concrete [1:03:09] plans of the Mayor and the [1:03:11] councillors for affordable [1:03:12] housing? [1:03:14] >> That's a really good, simple [1:03:15] question. We are making them. We [1:03:19] are in the process of making [1:03:21] them. There are techniques to [1:03:23] affordable housing. Getting your [1:03:26] housing stock, making affordable [1:03:27] housing stock, is a challenge. [1:03:30] And we will have to do that with [1:03:32] future developments. One of the [1:03:33] techniques is to determine a [1:03:35] certain amount, a certain [1:03:36] percentage in developments of [1:03:38] affordable housing in those [1:03:39] developments. There are other [1:03:41] ways of making affordable [1:03:43] houses. We can shrink the size [1:03:45] of developments, we can shrink [1:03:46] the size of houses or living [1:03:48] arrangements, which is being [1:03:49] done in other settings. Where [1:03:52] you minimize the size of the [1:03:53] structures being built so that [1:03:54] they are more affordable. There [1:03:55] are many ways, duplexes, [1:03:57] triplexes, there are other than [1:04:00] multi level residential. There [1:04:02] are all kinds of techniques of [1:04:04] identifying. Affordability is a [1:04:07] real challenge, absolutely. [1:04:08] >> It's important to me and just [1:04:12] as a follow-up, when will this, [1:04:15] when is the ETA for this plan? [1:04:17] And where would be able to find [1:04:18] that? [1:04:19] >> Well, hopefully it's in our [1:04:21] new urban plan and we're working [1:04:22] on it. Hopefully, in a couple [1:04:25] years, if all goes well, I would [1:04:27] like us to do it as [1:04:29] expeditiously as possible. And [1:04:31] to work towards that goal as [1:04:32] quickly as possible, and I hear [1:04:34] you loud and clear. It is all of [1:04:37] our concern. Affordability is [1:04:39] hugely important, especially [1:04:40] when it comes to bringing young [1:04:42] families into Pointe-Claire. So [1:04:43] that they can benefit from our [1:04:45] wonderful facilities and our [1:04:47] wonderful programs and services [1:04:48] that we've been offering for [1:04:49] decades. So, yes, absolutely, we [1:04:53] are all aware of the need to [1:04:56] have affordable housing. The how [1:04:59] is a good question. And thanks, [1:05:04] it's a simple but very [1:05:06] challenging question. Yes, [1:05:07] Councillor Stork? [1:05:08] >> Sir, will you mentioned [1:05:10] lakeside heights, do you mind me [1:05:12] axing which street you live on? [1:05:15] Duke of can't, okay. [1:05:17] >> I live with my parents. [1:05:19] >> Near May would? [1:05:20] >> Yeah. [1:05:21] >> Please reach out to me. I [1:05:22] would like to go all through [1:05:23] those with. You I think it's [1:05:25] important that you know, as part [1:05:26] of our youth in Pointe-Claire. [1:05:29] >> Hi, good evening. Angela [1:05:31] Clerk from Pointe-Claire. First, [1:05:33] I just want to say that I'm [1:05:35] really thrilled and very happy [1:05:37] when I saw your reaction to the [1:05:42] possibility of change in [1:05:43] Columbus street. I volunteer and [1:05:44] I do dialogue groups in [1:05:47] Onondaga, which is a treatment [1:05:48] center in Ghana so target [1:05:52] Kentucky. I see the trauma and [1:05:55] they don't trust white people. [1:05:57] It is a big issue trying to [1:05:59] bridge that gap. And I think [1:06:02] that taking that seriously, [1:06:03] changing the street, it's just [1:06:05] an act of good faith. Again, I [1:06:06] just want to thank you because I [1:06:08] was watching your responses and [1:06:10] it seemed like you're going to [1:06:11] really look into it. So, thank [1:06:16] you. [1:06:18] >> Mister Mayor, Council? [1:06:20] >> My name is Mark Wall furred. [1:06:23] 29 year resident of [1:06:24] Pointe-Claire. We had, Mister [1:06:26] Mayor, we had attended an event [1:06:28] together in September. I told [1:06:29] you I was going to come to the [1:06:30] next meeting, but I had a [1:06:31] scheduled conflict, so I'm here [1:06:32] a month later. May not be very [1:06:34] timely, what I'm going to say, [1:06:35] but it's still very appropriate [1:06:37] and I believe it's necessary. [1:06:40] All good things, one good [1:06:42] comment and feedback, a very [1:06:46] important question for you and [1:06:47] Council. First of all, I just [1:06:49] want to thank you, Mister Mayor, [1:06:52] Council, the city of [1:06:53] Pointe-Claire, for all the [1:06:55] amazing public events that were [1:06:57] made available to us throughout [1:06:58] the summer. I don't think I've [1:07:00] attended so many public events [1:07:02] in a very long time, even before [1:07:04] the pandemic. I know we were at [1:07:07] some together, all the fabulous [1:07:11] concerts at the Stewart Hall [1:07:13] park, the multi cultural food [1:07:15] festival, and, of course, just [1:07:17] most recently, the -- ceremony [1:07:20] and luncheon, so thank you very [1:07:21] much, Mister Mayor, and point [1:07:24] Claire for these amazing [1:07:25] contributions to our public [1:07:26] life. I think after the last two [1:07:29] and three quarter years that [1:07:30] we've just gone through, I think [1:07:31] it's very important that we do [1:07:34] the utmost to try to encourage [1:07:38] public participation, public [1:07:39] events, we. We've all face a lot [1:07:43] of issues with isolation. And [1:07:47] it's important for socialization [1:07:50] of the people, for the culture [1:07:52] of the city that we continue to [1:07:53] promote and encourage, and hold [1:07:56] these sorts of events. I just [1:07:57] want to thank you very much for [1:08:01] -- I had a great time at all [1:08:02] these events, personally, so [1:08:04] thank you. We these are [1:08:08] obviously huge, have huge [1:08:09] impacts on peoples mental health [1:08:11] and for those of you that know [1:08:12] me, I'm all about mental health. [1:08:15] I was a mental health survivor, [1:08:17] as a mental health advocate with [1:08:18] the West Island citizens group, [1:08:19] as a mental health worker. My [1:08:24] raisin data is a lot about [1:08:25] mental health. As I said, this [1:08:28] question was not necessarily [1:08:29] timely, but last month, October [1:08:30] was world mental health month. [1:08:32] During the week of your last [1:08:34] council meeting, that week was [1:08:36] mental health awareness week. [1:08:39] Obviously, we acknowledge and [1:08:40] try to raise awareness on those [1:08:43] special dates and times and [1:08:44] occasions. But even if those [1:08:48] locations are not over, we are [1:08:50] now in November which, for many [1:08:51] people, can be a very difficult [1:08:53] time of year as the days get [1:08:55] short. Hopefully there will be [1:08:58] much worry about the pandemic [1:09:00] again this winter. But as we [1:09:02] head into the long dark months, [1:09:05] there are so many people in our [1:09:07] community that struggle pandemic [1:09:08] or not with mental illness and [1:09:10] mental health issues. I just [1:09:12] want to know, what can you, as a [1:09:14] Council, or can you as a city, [1:09:17] due to help raise awareness on [1:09:18] mental health issues, help [1:09:20] support people dealing with and [1:09:22] struggling with mental illness, [1:09:23] as I did for so many years? And [1:09:26] to help support and promote [1:09:29] mental health in general, within [1:09:31] our city, because it's obviously [1:09:33] so important for all of us as [1:09:35] citizens, for yourselves [1:09:36] individually, as councillors, [1:09:38] I've seen some great post on [1:09:40] Facebook that really help [1:09:42] promote mental health. That is [1:09:45] just a general question, but [1:09:46] it's all about maintaining [1:09:47] positive mental health in [1:09:50] difficult times. [1:09:52] >> Thank you for your positive [1:09:53] comments, I really appreciate [1:09:55] it. Specifically to it, the most [1:10:00] important one, one, of the more [1:10:01] important things we can do is [1:10:03] funding. Fund awareness [1:10:05] campaigns and it's a crucial [1:10:07] one. And support. Support as a [1:10:11] city, supported, and we do. And [1:10:14] I'm very proud of our city. We [1:10:17] there's always more to do, as [1:10:19] you know. I agree entirely with [1:10:21] November. February is another [1:10:23] one where universities [1:10:25] deliberately have spring breaks [1:10:26] at certain times, for exactly [1:10:27] that reason. So, you are right. [1:10:31] It's an issue with that is of [1:10:34] huge importance. I think we have [1:10:35] all, including myself, suffered [1:10:38] the consequences of not paying [1:10:39] attention to this issue. I think [1:10:42] each and every one of us are [1:10:43] touched by it. And we all, I [1:10:46] think, are pretty much aware of [1:10:48] the importance, the next step is [1:10:50] to put it into action, which we [1:10:51] can all do as a community, as [1:10:53] citizens, and do the best we can [1:10:55] on this one. Because it is a [1:10:57] biggie. I've certainly learned a [1:10:59] lot about it over the course of [1:11:01] my life and we can keep on [1:11:04] struggling to get better aware [1:11:05] of it and to help the ones we [1:11:06] love. As it's subsequent issue, [1:11:14] just I think, I'm glad you [1:11:16] appreciated the advance because [1:11:17] I think Pointe-Claire is [1:11:20] amazing. You know, being mayor [1:11:21] of the city, I'm so proud of [1:11:24] what I've learned as mayor, [1:11:26] because a lot of these events [1:11:27] are in the cycle. It's part of a [1:11:29] process. And, you know, I [1:11:31] visited other mayors and they [1:11:33] all say, excuse me, how great [1:11:35] our city is. Like, our services [1:11:37] and what our departments and our [1:11:41] administration provides our [1:11:42] citizens. I complemented all the [1:11:43] time, so I think I can only say [1:11:48] that that's part of the [1:11:49] struggle. But there's always [1:11:51] more to do, so thank you for [1:11:52] your kind words, I really [1:11:54] appreciate it. [1:11:55] >> May I add to that? [1:11:56] >> Go ahead. [1:11:57] >> So, as you know, our [1:12:01] communications committee [1:12:02] publishes about mental health. [1:12:04] Our youth council has also [1:12:06] worked on the issue in the past, [1:12:10] offering study tips and tips on [1:12:11] how to deal with the stress of [1:12:13] school. It's also something that [1:12:15] a lot of our soon to be new [1:12:18] members of the youth council [1:12:20] have brought up throughout the [1:12:22] interview process, about [1:12:23] offering hybrid activities [1:12:26] potentially, offering smaller [1:12:28] scale activities that are easier [1:12:31] to attend because people, after [1:12:33] having lived through two and a [1:12:34] half years of COVID, do have [1:12:37] different needs now. And a [1:12:41] different level of comfort. Our [1:12:44] seniors program also made sure [1:12:45] throughout the pandemic to have [1:12:48] sometimes too frequently, [1:12:49] according to some of our [1:12:50] seniors, phone calls to make [1:12:52] sure to break social isolation [1:12:54] and visits to their homes. And [1:12:57] we also have the diversity and [1:12:59] social inclusion committee, and [1:13:01] it's for sure one of the topics [1:13:04] that will be included throughout [1:13:06] our discussions and within our [1:13:08] action plans. I think I would [1:13:10] just like to say, I think [1:13:11] probably most of us here on [1:13:13] Council are fairly well aware of [1:13:14] the different community [1:13:17] organizations that we have, and [1:13:19] I know anyone who's reached out [1:13:21] to me, I've often referred them [1:13:23] to the CRTC or to other [1:13:26] organizations to help, and even [1:13:28] called the organizations, to [1:13:30] help set up different meetings [1:13:33] for them, et cetera, to help [1:13:34] them find their path. But for [1:13:36] sure, through our library [1:13:37] offerings as well, through our [1:13:41] conferences and stuff like that, [1:13:42] through the social inclusion and [1:13:46] diversity committee, we will be [1:13:47] looking at offering different [1:13:49] offerings like that, as well, to [1:13:51] help support different people in [1:13:52] our community who struggle with [1:13:55] mental health. [1:13:56] >> Yeah, plus COVID was really [1:13:57] rough. And we still have a lot [1:13:59] of work to do. I felt really bad [1:14:01] for our youth through COVID. I [1:14:03] mean, I feel bad for anybody [1:14:04] struggling, but I really felt [1:14:05] bad for the youth through COVID. [1:14:08] It was a rough period in life [1:14:11] and we still have a lot of work [1:14:12] to do,. So, are we done question [1:14:15] period? Before the 90 minute, [1:14:18] how much? Oh, you are okay. [1:14:21] Okay, all right, there we go. I [1:14:23] thought I jinxed this. You guys [1:14:29] coming into town? [1:14:42] Can I see that report? Est-ce [1:14:50] que c'est possible? [1:14:58] Je ne peux pas répondre [1:15:01] définitivement. Je vais chercher [1:15:02] la réponse. [1:15:14] Thank you. 10.01.
