12:00 p.m. Uh Councilwoman Pearson Lewis
[2:15] was supposed to give us the pledge of
allegiance. That's a little hard for her
[2:18] to lead us in that today.

with a greater ability to make the

community. We're so grateful for those

different capacities and ask that you

greater ability to uh perform and do

do their jobs, do the things that they

in your packets this afternoon is an
[5:10] application for a fireworks permit
submitted by Mr. Jake Tyra. The
[5:15] application requests approval to
discharge a class C consumer firework
[5:20] canister shot during the firework or
shot during the Riverton High School
[5:25] football game. The application has been
reviewed and is complete meeting all
[5:30] required conditions. Mr. Tyra is present
at the meeting and available to answer
[5:34] any questions you may have. Staff
recommends approval of the fireworks as
[5:39] submitted.

Uh, appreciate guys. Appreciate you
[6:26] guys, uh, coming together at lunchtime
today. I know you're busy. You got lots
[6:30] of stuff going on. Um, but, uh, just in
regards to the permit that we're
[6:35] requesting, it's for the the high school
football team. Um, we'd just like to
[6:39] help put together something new. Uh,
maybe create more of a culture that the
[6:43] new coach is is put in place and build
upon that. Maybe this can be something
[6:48] that grows as time and we can build upon
it and uh kind of put on a little um
[6:54] display if you will for the kids as they
come onto the field. Um, is there any
[6:59] questions for me in regards to what we
are asking?
[7:03] I I guess the only thing that I was
going to note as opposed to sometimes
[7:08] when we have fireworks, we'll have the
Riverton Volunteer Fire Department that
[7:12] will be on standby.
They're not going to be on standby,
[7:18] » but
just want to have the uh
[7:25] strong suggestion, I guess he had said,
that if the conditions are unfavorable,
[7:29] fireworks display be canceled, who's
going to be making that decision?
[7:33] » Um, so the two individuals that are
spearheading this is Joshu Salscaper and
[7:38] myself. Um, I can say this year, um, as
far as any fireworks are going to be lit
[7:44] off, him or I will be in attendance. So,
the two of us will probably be the best
[7:49] choice to make that call. And I would I
would assume that eludes to more of a
[7:53] wind condition. Um, if if it's windy, of
course, we'll we'll pull the trigger and
[7:57] not light anything.

we'll use a a common sense and if we
[8:49] fail with our common sense we'll have to
put in some kind of directive measure

been some folks that had some issues
[9:12] with droppings from fireworks
previously. Is there going to be
[9:16] somebody that goes around and cleans up
the general area where they may have
[9:20] fallen?
>> Yeah, absolutely. We plan on cleaning up
[9:23] our mess. Um, we're only going to be
shooting We're going to have two
[9:27] different platforms and each will have
two tubes on it. So, we're only lighting
[9:30] off four uh canisters, mortars, if you
will.
[9:34] » Okay. Thank you. Yep. Yeah. And then we
have a it's called a cold spark machine.
[9:38] It's not part of the permit, but it'll
be set up on either side of the the uh
[9:43] the piece of paper that they run through
and it'll throw up like 15 foot cold
[9:46] sparks.

>> That's one more real quick question. The
[9:52] the fireworks display is only as they
enter the field.
[9:55] » Yep. Just a one time shot right at
>> during the game. Not at this point.
[9:59] Maybe as um this progresses and grows
into maybe more of a a show uh maybe
[10:06] maybe next year there however whoever
picks it up from where we start whoever
[10:10] wants to to carry forward with it
however they want to do that might
[10:13] become a possibility.
