speak where he was in uh he finished as
[0:42] a staff sergeant and a patrol officer.
So he has military law enforcement
[0:45] experience and allows him to come on
board as a lateral officer with some
[0:49] stipulations that we'll take care of. Um
Jeff Rankin's coming on board as an
[0:53] officer. his wife Sarah is here and the
rest of his crew. Um just from Went to
[0:59] Ofall High School and uh went and got a
bachelor's in criminal justice from SAU
[1:03] Eversville. Uh he got out of the
military last year and then as he was
[1:08] trying to test and get on board for a
police job, he worked with security and
[1:12] asset protection. Um but he was in the
Air Force from 2020 to 2024 and he was a
[1:17] weapons simulation technician. So, uh,
Jeff, uh, the reason we had to do this
[1:21] early is Jeff has to go to the police
academy starting on Sunday night, uh,
[1:25] where he'll spend 16 weeks, uh, getting
his full training and then, like I said,
[1:30] uh, Nicholas will go through a
transition academy, which is a expedited
[1:33] version of that. So, uh, that's why we
had to be here today and I appreciate
[1:37] you guys uh, doing that for us. So, if
you guys can step up, the mayor will
[1:41] read you your oath of office
[1:45] and I promise to make it easy. Unlike
our former mayo over here one time.
