[0:00] Chris would you like to tell us about this uh yeah basically our you know this [0:06] is our 1920 audit report and youall have to approve it because we have to get it [0:10] submitted to the comproller uh by the end of today tomorrow to be in [0:15] compliance with the state our audit came back uh pretty clean we we got it we're [0:20] down to three audit findings that I'd like to try to get cleared up one of [0:23] them is my fault that I'll get fixed next year uh there's two more [0:28] outstanding the internal controls policy and the uh collections on the fictitious [0:33] invoice uh that has happened back in 2013 which we can go into more detail [0:38] and discussing how to clear those up during our uh January 6 Bulma work [0:45] session 9th January 9th there January 9th excuse [0:52] me but yeah our financials are in good shape as far as the water and sewer goes [0:57] since we've raised our rates we are bringing in more income and had a net [1:03] income for the year which the state likes to see so we're in good shape [1:07] financially uh and hopefully once we clear up these audit findings we'll you [1:11] know be in even better shape so if if anybody has any questions or any [1:17] particular items they want to discuss in detail I'd be more than happy to do that [1:20] I I have a question just U I'm just curious uh if if we're going to discuss [1:26] something on the 9th why aren we we going to discuss it [1:31] before we vote on this well you you have to vote the vote today is just to [1:36] approve the audit report we have to y'all have to approve it uh for our [1:41] audit firm to submit it to the contollers uh before the end of the year [1:46] one of the findings had to do with the uh the outstanding balance that were're [1:54] owed from that that when we had the money that was misappropriated in the [2:00] fire department yeah and we've never collected that and we're we need to make [2:07] a decision about what we're we're either going to have to collect it or we're [2:11] going to have to write it off because they're going to keep writing it up that [2:14] was one out of the three findings right and so that's that's what we need to do [2:19] is to decide whether we that's that's what we need to discuss that one finding [2:26] yeah because if we we get a plan in place you know in anuary we could [2:31] potentially clear that funding up so we won't have it uh for the 2020 2021 audit [2:38] report but let me also add that even if we write that off it doesn't mean we [2:43] have to stop efforts to collect it I can still make efforts to collect that that [2:50] debt and that was from 2013 yes [2:57] sir cool [3:02] I thought that we' already decided to write this [3:05] off no I never got on brought to a vote [3:11] okay I think last year we probably discussed this kind of the same thing we [3:16] did we're discussing now and it just never was brought back up and so I want [3:22] to uh discuss it on the work session and if it whatever we decide to do perhaps [3:28] we can get it on the um the well whatever we decide will be [3:34] on the agenda for the January regular meeting to vote on how's that that'll [3:42] work but works for me let let me also I'd like to add something if I could uh [3:50] just just say how much I appreciate Chris and and his work because the the [3:56] Auditors had I believe fewer than adjusting entries that they made in this [4:02] year's audit and that's uh nearly unheard of it it really speaks to the [4:07] job that Chris does and his expertise in this area uh and the fact that we're [4:12] down from I think I don't know maybe 10 or 11 findings down to the three uh and [4:19] soon to be maybe zero uh I just want to commend Chris on his [4:27] work congratulations thank you I appreciate that really did I [4:32] I believe we've had quite a few in years past and being able to mark all of these [4:39] off is is really wonderful and I am very happy that we can do that and thanks [4:46] Chris for all his work to do it and maybe we'll have when we look at this [4:51] we'll have a plan to get all the others we well we have the plan to budget more [4:57] for the Department uh and address the other one that leaves one [5:03] other to decide what to do about any other [5:13] comments okay this year um I I had asked Chris you know in the past we usually [5:20] have that man come and talk to us and tell us all this stuff and uh there was [5:26] no need with just three findings this year I gu is for him to come and put us [5:32] to sleep yeah that's great [5:38] so uh I guess if there's any other questions we'll address those and if not [5:45] we will have entertain a motion to uh approve this and um send it [5:54] on I move to approve I have a motion do I have a [6:00] second I'll second it I have a motion in a second I guess I'm going to ask Chris [6:07] to call roll because I can't see everybody otman sedle yes otman Morton [6:14] yes utman Williams yes mayor Joyce [6:22] yes and isan [6:26] falconberry uh he's at I didn't see him come [6:33] on okay uh motion carries we are ready to [6:39] send it on any other business what time is it on the [6:44] 9th 900 am 9 am got it all right I did confirm that that tide will [6:52] be there uh on the ninth as well I know we had a couple questions that we wanted [6:57] him to address oh Al righty sounds good and [7:01] anybody has anything they want to discuss please bring it and let's let's [7:07] discuss it then and uh anything we need to put on our agenda of items we want to [7:13] accomplish now that we're marking some off we'll um revisit that okay I move to [7:21] adjourn have a motion to adjourn do I have a [7:25] second second I have a motion to adjourn in second all in favor say I I [7:33] I see y'all happy New Year happy New Year thank you
