[4:41] sometimes in the road and so forth, and I always think of these things as the wheels are so
[4:46] small that if you were to hit anything, it might trajectory into the path of vehicle, and of course
[4:51] I'm always very concerned about that, but I guess the plea really would be to the people
[4:57] that supply these e-scooters to the young people that are used and not all young people
[5:02] used and either but anybody safety first and make sure that they do have some protective gear
[5:09] on first off.
[5:10] I've heard safety people in the past week say that bice of a helmets aren't really proper for
[5:15] something that goes as fast as an e-bike or an e-scooter that you actually should have something
[5:20] a little more protected than that. I don't know what the details of that are, but I was
[5:25] buoyed by the fact that the government services minister for the province might goosey said
[5:32] the province is actually looking into legislation. This fall, the start of that conversation about
[5:39] e-screwters and all kinds of different, I guess he bites all these things that aren't even
[5:46] anything. They're not covered by any act so far. So, of course, the province will be the lead authority.
[5:53] When it comes to regulations, we're going to have our own conversations here as a council.
[5:58] Over the next while, we'll find out what is within our purview to do.

[11:42] every Wednesday at 10 30 AM until August 26. The last session will include tea, coffee and lunch at
[11:48] manuals river. Play group taking place every Friday from 10 30 to 12 30 manuals river for children
[11:54] five and under. And one more upcoming event on July 29th, summer jam night in the park. The downtown
[12:01] CBS presents summer jam night at the community park, local musicians and talent will come together
[12:06] to put up a grand concert in the park. And I encourage you to check out the details of this because
[12:10] they have a great lineup and it's going to be a great evening at the community park. Hopefully the weather

[15:01] I attended the Batchie Ball with special Olympics on Thursday evening with Councillor Butler and it was my first time playing Batchie Ball. And we had a great bit of fun until we got rained out. So I'll definitely try to get back with to their Batchie Ball again. After got rained out there, I headed into the big goal. The drive in big goal at the CVS Arena. And Raid doesn't bother.

[16:10] I just want to pass out along. It was a great evening and they may even try to do it again
[16:15] before the years out. So I just want to speak to something in Ward 2. We've had number of conversations.
[16:22] There's been lots of phone calls and I've had multiple emails, not just me, other counselors have.
[16:27] regarding a development. Some work that's happening in war two more specifically off of Dawson's
[16:35] Ron Cherry Hill development. And the developer is currently there on to clearing permit doing
[16:43] some clearing and doing some test holes while he's made a has approval and principle for the next
[16:50] phase of Dawson's run. That project was a multi-phase subdivision. So the developer has an approval
[16:59] in principle, which was just finalized on June the 24th. And so that company is working through their drawings
[17:10] and detailed design. And so the town has not received that, you know, there's a lot of work yet to be done there.
[17:20] Nothing that we can share with the public because we have received the particulars, but I had
[17:25] some concerns expressed to me regarding public safety and traffic and things like that.

[19:35] in the city of St. John's via Robin Hood Bay
[19:37] for processing.
[19:38] And during a recent recycling drop-off, we were ordered by the city.
[19:44] And we were informed that while the city accepts a certain level of contamination
[19:49] among recycling that we were above that threshold that they're willing to accept.
[19:55] And so what does this mean as a town, is that we're going to be extra vigilant
[19:58] when it comes to monitoring these recycling bags being forward.
[20:01] You might see more tagging on these bags if it has mixed or contaminated material
[20:07] and if that's the case, your bag won't be collected.
[20:12] And so this evening, my plea to you all is I'm asking you all
[20:16] to do your part and try to adhere to the recycling standards.
[20:21] We're going to have a social media campaign rolling out
[20:24] over the coming days and coming weeks in terms of what's
[20:27] acceptable and what's not, and we have a lot of information

[20:51] major electronics and children's toys
[20:54] are not recyclable at this time.

[21:26] but for recycling, it's only $32.50 per ton.
[21:29] So it's actually one-third price for us to recycle, compared to just throwing waste out in the trash.
[21:36] And so I would urge you to consider that and move forward despite the extra efforts that you might need to make.

[26:10] because they have a lot of athletes to travel and so forth and those costs can add up over time

[26:43] that they're confronted with, you know, from a great six perspective and heading up into
[26:48] the world into junior high in high school and so forth.
[26:51] And the RNC do an excellent job providing that sort of support for young people in the schools
[26:58] and town of CBS supports there.
[27:01] We make a financial contribution to there so that they can continue to do that in our schools.
[27:06] But one of the things I will note is that you may think, because it's our NC, that the
[27:11] government funds their program.
[27:12] Well, they don't.
[27:13] The DARE program is done solely on donations from businesses and individuals and so forth, and if you've had a young
[27:21] student go through the DARE program, you see the value of it, and you want to help DARE,
[27:26] please reach out to them, reach out to the RNC and make a contribution.
[27:29] They'd love to have it, and it helps them provide the best materials and those top-to-date information
[27:34] and so forth as they do the program.
