[4:54] meet on this item. It relates to a recent Demolition
[4:59] permit by the York region district school board. For the
[5:04] Demolition of a portable building. Associated with the, uh, deer
[5:08] park elementary school. Uh, and, um, as the memo explains,
[5:15] uh, the site, at least the main, uh, historic portion
[5:19] of the school constructed in 1913 expanded in 1930. Was
[5:27] designated by the council in 2009 as a property of
[5:32] cultural heritage, uh, value. Um, and, um. As such, it's
[5:40] protected under the Ontario Heritage Act. And with respect to,
[5:46] uh, Demolition permits on the same property as a, um.
[5:51] Uh, designated building, the act as is going to the
[5:55] memo requires that, um, uh, the council, uh, approve any
[6:01] demolition permit. And it also requires that the council consult
[6:06] with this heritage committee F - 1 has established before
[6:09] giving that approval, hence this meeting here today. Um, so
[6:14] staff have looked at this, um, and can't come to
[6:17] the conclusion that, um, the, uh, portable building is, uh,
[6:23] of no cultural heritage value, uh, to the original, um,
[6:28] heritage bylaw. I believe that the Ontario Heritage Act had
[6:31] originally, uh, instituted these sorts of requirements. And in the
[6:35] event that there were some sort of associated relationship of
[6:39] a demolished building on the site to the protected feature
[6:43] so that the council would have the opportunity to take
[6:46] some action if it felt it was appropriate. In this
[6:49] case, uh, staff, uh, do not think that there's any,
[6:53] uh, meaningful relationship of this portable building to the original
[6:56] school building. And we've recommended that the Heritage Committee passed
[7:02] a resolution advising council that it has no objection to
[7:05] the Demolition permit. Mr. Dillaboa chief building official is here.
