land acknowledgement.
[0:31] The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is
situated on the lands within Treaty 18,
[0:35] being the traditional territory
of the Anishinaabe peoples, including
[0:39] the Ojibwe, the Odawa, and the
Potawatomi Nations, collectively known
[0:42] as the Three Fires Confederacy.
This land is home to many diverse First
[0:46] Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
We acknowledge Indigenous peoples as
[0:51] stewards of the land, and we honor their
resilience, as well as their culture,
[0:54] and our shared respect for the lands,
plants, animals, and waterways which
[0:58] sustains us all.
We recognize the injustices against
[1:01] Indigenous peoples,
and are mindful that we all Sorry,
[1:04] mindful that the decisions of government
impact our shared land and all the
[1:08] inhabitants.
We commit to reconciliation as a journey
[1:11] to foster Indigenous cultural awareness
and educational opportunities,
[1:15] establish respectful and healthy
relations with Indigenous peoples,
[1:18] continue to steward the land and its
inhabitants, and to cultivate inclusive
[1:21] community for all.
[1:25] Our next item on the agenda is closed
session.
[1:28] Um there is one matter to go into
in camera for this evening, which is the
[1:34] Farsight Framework Agreement, and we
have our
[1:37] legal team here to provide any uh
solicitor-client privilege information
[1:41] to us.
So, the recommendation is that pursuant
[1:44] to section 239 (2) of the Municipal Act,
2001, Council of the Township of
[1:48] Adjala-Tosorontio convene a closed
session at 5:35 p.m. to address the
[1:53] following item: confidential verbal
update from Isaac Tang, BLG, advised
[1:57] that it is subject to solicitor client
privilege, including communications
[1:59] necessary for that purposes
with regards to the Fireside Framework
[2:03] Agreement.
