what a tyron resident would have paid
[4:44] for by percentage
the big large one was 61.3 percent went
[4:50] to the fayette county schools
from the orange little orange section
[4:55] was the school bond
then the gray section is what went to
[4:59] the county
uh the yellow is what went to fire so it
[5:04] went to the county for fire
then the little uh purple
[5:10] light purple or lavender i guess
section is what we spent for ems
[5:16] and then the dark purple that little
tiny sliver is what went to e-911 which
[5:20] is your 9-1-1 calls
and the green 9.2
[5:25] of your tax dollars actually went to the
town of tyrone here that funds your
[5:30] police department
excuse me your roads
[5:34] um your recreation
the staff to fund the town and
[5:38] everything else that has to do with the
town
[5:42] so
that's just a good example of exactly
[5:45] where your tax dollars go
[5:51] basically as the mayor said we're trying
to propose another
[5:56] 2.889 for the 14th year in a row
um
[6:00] housing values were assessed higher as a
whole that doesn't mean that everybody's
[6:04] housing value went up
some went down some went up higher but
[6:09] as an average
they increased
[6:12] a little bit which makes a tax increase
of six point
[6:18] i think it's 6.78
um as a as an average um so that means
[6:24] that tyrone if everybody pays their
taxes would get approximately 6.78
[6:30] more money than what we did last year
which is needed
[6:34] for the fact that
we suffered last year just like everyone
[6:39] else and also because um
things cost more now it's not just
[6:46] just not it's not just citizens that
food went up it's also it cost us more
[6:50] to pave roads it costs us more to do
anything we want to do
[6:54] um the citizens have let us know they
want uh golf cart paths and as you know
[6:58] we're working towards that we have to
buy right aways and we have to build the
[7:02] paths and that also costs a lot of money
and so in order for us to to fund the
[7:06] town the way we feel like we need to
that's the reason for the increase

basically if you own a housing value of
[7:15] 350 000 which is the average home value
in tyrone your tax bill would increase
[7:21] 21.94
for the year
[7:24] so it's a little less than two dollars a
month
