[0:41] and the entire Addison team and all the folks that come together to make that

[0:56] because I really think that event, well next year is going to be our fifth

[0:59] year anniversary, has a very short period of time become a real identifier

[1:05] consistent with our attitude brand in a special way and each year you made it

[1:10] better and I know next year we'll be consistent with that about it earlier in

[1:14] the day and he had a phrase that I think really epitomizes it. He said we're

[1:19] known by the company we keep and if that's the case based on the folks

[1:24] that were there at our world best we're doing really well and we're

[1:28] well-known in the right places and celebrating diversity is certainly one

[1:33] one of our core values of the entire organization and there is no better corner and I wanted

[1:38] to share with the council and with the folks here and at home a couple of events that really

[1:44] highlighted that. Aside from the obvious Saturday event, one of the things right after our

[1:50] Saturday morning greeting with an incredible array of dignitaries that included a king

[1:57] and various council representatives from literally around the world, the folks

[2:01] from Morocco took me to Morocco and asked, there it was, recreated right down to the

[2:09] not only the vendors but the artisans that were there doing their thing. It was really

[2:13] impressive and they presented to me really to the whole town this beautiful representation

[2:18] of the work that's done and it has a little label on the bottom that says Native Morocco.

[2:24] But it was so cool to just be there and see the folks that were participating and

[2:28] and recognized the texture and culture of not only Morocco,

[2:32] but all those folks working here.

[2:35] Then Friday and Saturday night, unfortunately,

[2:37] not this matter to be invited to a couple events,

[2:39] the Turkish folks that have been longtime supporters

[2:42] and big champions along with Morocco

[2:44] of our World Fest event,

[2:46] had an event Friday night at our Crown Plaza.

[2:48] And I attended on behalf of the town

[2:50] and sat right with the Turkish ambassador

[2:54] and a congresswoman in the head

[2:56] of the Department of Foreign Affairs for the Council for, I'm sorry, the Congress,

[3:01] United States Congress, Florida, and Florida for this event. And right there, all of us together,

[3:07] and what was going to be an evening of celebration, was somewhat tempered by the news that there

[3:13] had been a terrorist attack during Turkey, of course this was before the horrible earthquake.

[3:17] But it was amazing to be here in Addison, Texas, and be at the center of an international

[3:23] event happening right here that we're hosting. And then Saturday night, after a day at World

[3:30] War II, I was invited by a new group of people that formed an organization, an alumni organization

[3:36] from Gandhi University. And they celebrated the birth, literally the birth of their alumni

[3:42] organization. Again, it's a crown of applause for Saturday night in Addison, Texas. And

[3:47] it just struck me in such a way that frankly, all the years have been around Addison,

[3:51] And it never really struck me the same as it has this weekend,

[3:53] what an international city we are in,

[3:56] and what an opportunity we have, frankly,

[3:58] from an economic devolved example,

[4:01] to take the position that we have in the marketplace.

[4:04] It gives Orlando and our entire organization

[4:07] new credibility to work within that environment and gain

[4:11] lots of traction and identify ourselves

[4:13] in the real positive way and part of our brand.

[4:15] So I really wanted to share that with the whole organization

[4:18] I should commend Ron and Barbara and the whole staff

[4:21] for helping establish that foundation.

[4:23] And hopefully for a lot of years, we're

[4:25] able to build on and continue to improve and enhance

[4:28] that burden of attitude and especially.

[4:31] So thank you for giving us that opportunity, Barbara.

[4:51] over the Bush School, hosted to race and money

[4:55] for our landscape projects that are over there.

[4:57] And the Dirt Doctor, one and only Howard Garrett

[5:02] and that's an opportunity for us to participate.

[5:05] And then that afternoon,

[5:07] our Murrio and Addison Fire Department

[5:08] is hosting their annual open house.

[5:11] You'll see some pink t-shirts here.

[5:12] Maybe council members even talk to you

[5:14] wearing those on Saturday.

[5:16] And they're going to celebrate that with a bounce house,

[5:19] all sorts of fun things and demonstrations.

[5:21] And it's an opportunity that I like to encourage

[5:26] our town residents to come by and thank the men and women

[5:30] of our first responders units, both fire and police,

[5:33] for what they do.

[5:34] And frankly, just as important, what they're willing

[5:36] to do literally for us every day.

[5:38] And we really appreciate you.

[5:40] So it's an opportunity for us to have some fun

[5:43] to thank those first responders and John was telling me right before we got

[5:47] started he wanted to make a comment about that but we could tie it back into

[5:50] that since it's an agenda item and before we get our city attorney out of his

[5:54] chair it is tied to this city this agenda item John if you wanted to make a

[5:58] mention of an event. Well in addition to the open house I just wanted to

[6:03] share with the council and the manager that this evening around 4.30 the report of

[6:08] unconscious person at one of our retail vendors on Inwood Road.

[6:12] When we got there, we had a 45-year-old that was in cardiac arrest, and our troops,

[6:17] including our young firefighter visiting tonight, rendered aid to him,

[6:21] and successfully resuscitated him through early defibrillation and drug therapy.

[6:26] He was kind of spontaneous pulse and respirations, and was talking by the time he left the hospital,

[6:31] so it was a cardiac arrest day. And that's actually our third save this year.

[7:24] health fair and that's when the residents can get flu shots and so you

[7:32] online I believe and get that information at the health fair. On the 10th we're

[7:39] having our tailgate party here at Town Hall in the parking lot for United Way

[7:44] so we'll be cooking and judging so before and then on the 17th is

[7:55] and that should be on everyone's agenda.

[8:01] And I would, I'd like to ask Barbara, if you don't mind Mayor,

[8:04] to go through our revised schedule on our art and wine stroll

[8:10] and our opening of the Tribune Park

[8:13] since we're anticipating the rural weather Wednesday and Thursday.

[8:18] Mayor, I'm excited to tell you about our events that we have planned

[8:22] to celebrate the grand opening of the Provinger Park in Addison.

[8:25] Not sure if other Nages or friends of the Texas Rangers are not,

[8:29] because we had the event starting Thursday evening with our free event for residents to come out and

[8:35] see the park through an art and light show, free apple cider and tomato vests and art and light,

[8:42] but with the inclement weather projected to come in tomorrow and Thursday,

[8:46] we have canceled the Thursday evening art and wine stroll,

[8:49] and anybody who has purchased a ticket for the wine and food hearings can redeem those tickets on Friday.

[8:57] The activities are still happening from 7 to 11 on Friday.

[9:00] So we'll have great food and wine, parents from chambers, restaurants, art and light display,

[9:05] some art for sale, and then some cider and some tomato vests for the residents to enjoy.

[9:10] You can still purchase tickets, advance $35 in advance, $45 at the door,

[9:14] but every Addison resident will get a $5 discount.

[9:18] And Richard Chamberlain's also raffling off anybody who buys the tickets online will be

[9:25] registered to win two tickets to our two, dinner for two of this restaurant.

[9:28] And so we're kind of just shifting the Thursday evening, free event for Friday evening only.

[9:33] But he's also hosting what's called Element, which is a pop-up restaurant at Petruvian

[9:38] Park.

[9:38] It was scheduled to be on the observation desk out there at Vitruvian Park.

[9:44] But because the weather will be inclement on Thursday and a little chilly on Friday,

[9:49] we have moved that into a retail space at Vitruvian Park that overlooks this space,

[9:53] so that's still doing well. They are almost sold out.

[9:56] They have a few more tickets left. We can see it about 128 per night,

[10:00] and we're at about 100 per night right now with that.

[10:03] So it's a unique dunny experience, a unique menu, so I encourage everybody to come out.

[10:07] And then we did have Thursday evening a real estate reception to introduce the park to the real estate community.

[10:15] We also wanted to put our best foot forward and didn't think that Thursday night in the rain would be the best time to do that.

[10:21] So we are moving that event to Friday afternoon from 11 to 1.

[10:30] So that's kind of an update on the events to celebrate the opening of our newest park.

[11:45] He is one of Addison's newest employees,

[11:47] as he just started his career with the fire department on September 26th.

[11:53] He's certified as a firefighter in the paramedic.

[11:57] Before joining our team, Clint worked as a firefighter paramedic with the Hillsborough Fire Rescue for almost two years.

[12:05] He is from West Texas, okay, the city west.

[12:10] He attended MacLennan Community College. He is an outdoor enthusiast.

[12:17] He likes hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling, and spending time with his family and friends.

[12:21] He goes by Kujo and is not married or dating at this time, just to catch your interest.

[12:31] So, as I mean, he needs to step out of here with the camera.

[12:36] He's on TV, he's okay.

[12:39] So, please welcome Clint.

[12:52] The second person is Jason Beans.

[12:59] Jason has been employed by the town of Addison since November of 2004.

[13:04] He currently works in the criminal investigation division as a computer forensic investigator

[13:10] and also a member of our SWAT team.

[13:13] He's owned the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force, and prior to entering the

[13:20] law enforcement profession, Jason worked for Goldstein Production as a camera operator

[13:26] editor.

[13:27] Jason graduated from Austin College in Sherman with a double major in art and communications.

[13:33] He and his wife, Brandy, have two children, Jocelyn Ford and Raleigh, that's one-years-old.

[13:41] And I think most people don't realize how much crime there is as regards to the electronic

[13:51] side of things.

[13:53] And Jason, we bring a unique sort of offering with what we do with Jason, and it's really

[14:01] a great service to our business community, so I really appreciate chasing what he does.
