[0:56] South Carolina State Guard, a component of the South Carolina Military
[1:00] Department, is a volunteer state military force that supports South
[1:04] Carolinians during emergencies and disasters. And whereas the South
[1:08] Carolina State Guard provides disaster relief, search and rescue, medical
[1:12] support, logistics, engineering, communication, and other specialized
[1:16] services in coordination with state and local authorities. And whereas Anderson
[1:22] County Council recognizes the importance of emergency preparedness
[1:26] and the dedicated volunteer service of the South Carolina State Guard in
[1:30] protecting South Carolina communities. Now therefore, be it resolved that
[1:34] Anderson County Council, in a meeting duly assembled
[1:37] this first day of September 2026, recognizes September 2026 as National
[1:43] Preparedness Month in Anderson County. And recognizes and honors the South
[1:47] Carolina State Guard for its dedicated volunteer service and commitment to
[1:52] emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.
