[5:03] that there's one lady that had never run before it was her first race so she she

[5:07] has come back now 13 years in a row. Um it's an opportunity for us in the

[5:11] community to highlight some great people. It's of course volunteer le. Um

[5:15] I know the deputy race director pretty well. Um she's when she's in a good

[5:20] mood. Uh fortunately she has been able to continue to secure the services of

[5:25] former council member Troy B because he is a he has a lot of insight in that

[5:30] space and he does a lot of benefit. So, um I think Tom's been on the committee

[5:34] before. Um we identified that Jerry was on the committee, the frostbite

[5:39] committee several years ago. Um so, I mean there's quite a few of us that have

[5:43] been part of that for a while. Before the frostbite that morning, we'll hold a

[5:46] mayor's mile. That's an opportunity for myself and others to get in front of the

[5:51] kids and remind them that getting outside and being healthy, even though

[5:54] it's nasty in February, is a good thing. And so, I usually incentivize the kids

[6:00] to uh kids that have the highest percentage, whichever elementary school

[6:04] class has the highest percentage participation that day, I'll reward them

[6:08] with a pizza party. So, we have health running

[6:17] had I think almost 80% of the fourth graders I believe that was Scott's

[9:15] book. And so between the electric telephone and what the fire department

[9:21] South Dakota Fit, they bought this truck. So each year instead of the

[9:26] liquor tap going back to the fire fund, it's going to be divvied up between the

[9:31] payback for the Make sense or Okay. Um and then also the budgeted $100,000 for

[9:39] the electric department and this would be um the deposit number two of three

[9:43] for the new truck that they are looking to get in 2027.

[9:49] and then the telephone fund. Um, looking at their balance, it was not budgeted,

[9:53] but looking at their year and balance, I'm making the recommendation of moving

[9:57] $300,000 to South Dakota.

[12:13] So Austin H and I started looking into this and whether it made sense to do by

[12:18] Tom made sure that we were in a legal manner available to do that. Really what

[12:22] they do is they provide a cyber security assessment to take a look at our vulner

[12:28] vulnerabilities you know where I'm translating and see how our existing

[12:33] infrastructure really is taking place. So Austin on the telecom side they've

[12:38] done quite a bit us maybe not as much as them but this is looking at us as an

[12:42] entirety and so um Austin was pretty excited about it for them but we were as

[12:47] well for for our operations here at city hall. So, they will come in, take a look

[12:53] at our our place, see what our assessment looks like. Um, I hope that

[12:57] eventually they maybe can give us a little presentation on what this product

[13:01] looks like and then they'll give us the results in the future. I would think

[13:04] with our electric system

[13:27] they're looking to come February second. they reached out to you said that you

[13:31] wanted to come have a conversation with us and um I think it's a great thing

[13:35] especially for me being new I think some of you are fairly new as well but what

[13:38] they're looking to do is kind of give us a little bit of update on what the

[13:42] assessor's office does how they actually come and the values that they do then

[13:47] what we can do with the equalization process in March is when we start that

[13:52] time frame so we're going to do this >> one month

[15:11] are quite a few eyes that are looking at it looking at ways to potentially reduce

[24:38] Dakota Municipal League membership news to it. So, we would need to add $2,275.

[26:57] furniture for Jason's office for $6,50. And other current expense um we were not

[27:04] planning to advertise for a new city administrator. So, that put us over. So,

[27:08] I'm proposing $600 to be added underneath general um government

[27:13] buildings. The first part of 2025, we paid for the carpet for this building.

[27:19] Um so, I'm proposing to add $27,000 to that one. And then the electric because

[27:25] we are paying the electricity for well the old city hall and this building. So,

[27:30] add $500 to that. the library. Um, they received a

[27:36] thousand dollar grant to host um, 2025 summer reading training. Jane and I kind

[27:43] of went back and forth with can her budget absorb it or not. At the end, it

[27:48] cannot. So, I'm proposing to move the revenue received for the grant to host

[27:54] the summer reading to be moved into her fund to make um, the library positive.

[28:01] In the end, the police received a highway safety grant of um $8,763

[28:09] and I am proposing to move that to the full-time salaries to bring their fund

[31:33] 2026 to help help effectively celebrate our

[32:10] America's 250th birthday.
