[0:39] who have taken care of this land for thousands of years.

[1:36] and our regular council meetings. And of course my weekly

[1:42] contact with the office, and even sometimes when I

[1:46] can't make it to the office, it shows up to me. So,

[1:51] thank you, Jordan. Um because there's always every week

[1:55] checks to be signed, bylaws, whatever.

[2:00] Um also, we have an announcement. The Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch, and

[2:06] Raglan is a recipient of a $9,940 grant from the Seniors Community Grant

[2:12] Program from the government of Ontario. This grant will be used to provide

[2:18] inclusive senior lunches to the community

[2:21] implemented by the Community Resource Centre Killaloe.

[2:25] We thank the government of Ontario for their contribution to this

[2:30] monthly lunch program, which offers older adults the opportunity to

[2:34] socialize and stay connected in their community. Seniors will help with the

[2:38] planning and implementation of the meals and will help to choose topics for

[2:43] presentation. Each monthly presentation will be

[2:47] followed by a healthy lunch and social time. So, we'd like to express our

[2:51] gratitude to the to the province for that grant.

[2:55] » Oh, yeah. We're happy they got that. >> Yeah, because it it is an outing that

[3:00] the seniors do look forward to and then they also run exercise and and a bunch

[3:05] of other things, which is really, really good for the seniors. And it seems to be

[3:10] I mean, the attendance fluctuates, but it seems to be fairly well attended.

[7:15] conditioning uh system at the arena. I thought we had it maybe nailed down to

[7:21] one, um but I found some further discrepancies between the two,

[7:26] and I'm not satisfied with what I have. So, I've requested a third quote from

[7:30] another company. So, what I suggest to council is we

[7:36] we go ahead, get the pricing for this, and this will be something that we plan

[7:40] for and execute in the next term of council in the new year

[7:44] for the next budget. >> So we're okay. We have heat.

[7:47] » We have heat. Yeah, the heat's fine. It's just the air conditioner that's

[7:51] obsolete right now. And with the cooler weather moving in or in the fall here

[7:54] now, we shouldn't hopefully need it anymore, but

[9:08] around $6,000 maybe, but I could be wrong. But I know it's not a lot of

[9:18] Eorn, I was kind of thinking we should

[9:22] maybe draft a response to that because we did have an issue with the sighting

[9:27] of one of our towers if everyone remembers. I mean, they

[9:33] they should be a suitable distance away from a

[9:37] residence. And I mean, we did have that happen, and it turned out that

[9:42] they didn't even do the circulation properly, so

[9:47] and then they want to cut it down to 30 days. I mean, that's not enough time.

[9:53] » to move things along, and I understand that, but that's not good for everyone

[9:58] else. It doesn't give the the townships time to to look at things.

[10:01] » Well, I think it's in their favor to reduce it because that way

[10:06] » Yeah, it moves along for them better, but it doesn't do us in the township

[10:10] good or or the the people near near the towers. That's the distance that they're

[10:15] trying to to to move to some of the uh

[10:19] the distances from towers to residences are being

[10:21] » And I just kind of forgot what the

[10:28] Oh, Eorn, that's I'm This one is about the cell

[10:32] towers. >> Yeah.

[10:33] » 10 seconds. >> Um

[10:34] that was discussed at the county council last week, and

[10:38] um there's been a lot of complaints. In

[10:41] fact, um Chalk River

[10:46] has a dead zone. And there's areas up in there that's still dead with the Rogers

[10:51] towers, and Jen spoke to that um the warden as

[10:57] she's on this committee. And with the changeover with the Rogers towers, so

[11:03] many people have gone to Rogers, too, that sometimes the traffic bogs it.

[11:10] So, you know, that's not what was the information that

[11:16] was given to us. And they had to say about Bell and that,

[11:21] well, there was no agreement when the original contract was done that Bell

[11:27] would, you know, install onto their towers. There was never any discussion

[11:32] in regard to that. So, we have no idea if that will ever happen.

[11:37] It may. >> Well, roaming roaming usually happens

[11:40] later once subscribership is up. Because they make in this whole investment they

[11:43] were awarded the contract of the federal program to

[11:47] to remove all the those black spots and better service, but

[11:52] typically that's something that I don't know I don't know if that was negotiated

[11:56] in, but normally you get a year or two before they open up for roaming on Bell

[12:00] and then they would then they would charge Rogers with charge Bell up a fee

[12:03] to allow them to roam. >> Yeah.

[12:06] Yeah, like I mean I I had planned on changing over

[12:10] from Bell to Rogers cuz I had Bell because of my home it was available.

[12:15] And Rogers wasn't, but I haven't done that and I'm thinking, I don't know if I

[12:20] will now because it could be worse than what it would.

[12:23] » So far we've had home, but I noticed that they're charging some upgrades now

[12:27] I think to the towers that that are up that are seeing the heavy

[12:31] traffic. Whereas I was reading some stuff this week and seeing Rogers are

[12:35] looking at upgrade programs I think to to help with that, but that's in the

[12:39] future as well. >> Yeah, and a lot of people have been

[12:42] having trouble with the internet also. With Rogers.

[12:45] » Rogers home internet. >> Yeah, I mean we have a we've had it for

[12:49] a long time and it's fine, but I mean we're in a good spot because we pick up

[12:54] point on. So, not just the local.

[12:59] So, anyway, that's the update on that.

[13:16] » That's the one I was suggesting suggesting.

[13:54] » So if if kids would be going to fast track there'll be a shorter window of

[13:59] time that they can send it in an emergency department and also ask the

[14:03] the province to give the hospitals more funding to support that.

[14:08] So it's kind of two fold, shorten up the time and provide more funding to the

[14:12] hospitals to give shorter wait times in in the emerge.

[14:15] » Yeah, to be able to deal with it now.

[14:20] » I'd like to pull that one. >> Okay.

[14:31] The OPP that's basically information not good news.

[14:36] » Yeah. >> And that's only for 2027.

[14:41] There's no guarantees beyond that. >> I was reading through that.

[14:47] » And the County of Brantford the support for the ground initiative, that was

[14:51] something that was approved by County uh council and to be um

[14:57] sent out to the local municipalities and and that's fine but we don't have any

[15:02] extra municipally owned land where we could

[15:06] participate in that. You know, it's good for the the cities

[15:10] of Pembroke and the towns of Renfrew and the you know, the municipalities that

[15:15] have extra land.

[15:22] » Yeah, that create affordable housing that could

[15:26] housing options. >> Yeah.

[15:28] The county has moved ahead quite well with um low-income housing like they've

[15:34] taken two or three um

[15:37] semis that were near the end of their life

[15:41] and they tore them down and made triplexes

[15:44] triplexes triplexes the sound like or triplexes on

[15:48] them. So um but I mean they have the land and they

[15:52] have the places to do that and it's good that they're doing that because the

[15:57] waiting lists for um

[16:00] rent geared to income housing is like hundreds of a family.

[16:05] » Yeah, and I was I was thinking about that too and you have to have

[16:08] employment opportunities to have that style of housing rent income because if

[16:12] you it doesn't help someone that doesn't have a job or

[16:16] I guess with I forget how the program works if you're handicapped or or

[16:19] challenged. That's a little bit different. Yeah.
