Call it to order, the U.S. City Council meeting is Tuesday, May 5, 2026-630 p.m. Please take the roll call.
[0:32]
Councillor Collier, Councillor Loughler, here, Councillor Tepka, Erickson, absent, Councillor Towner, absent, Mayor Matthews.
[0:39]
Here,
[0:42]
we have a public hearing to do a reading for a new ordinance. Can I get a motion to open the public hearing?
[0:50]
I'll make the motion. I'll second. Thank you. All those in favor. Say aye. Aye. Aye. Opposed.
[0:56]
So we have an ordinance to regulate gambling. This is the second breeding of this. I believe.
[1:05]
So first you're saying. This is the first reading of this. This is the first reading. I'm sorry. So we needed to get in place in ordinance.
[1:14]
number one one six to regulate the lawful gambling within the city limits. So that's been posted.
[1:24]
It's been available for everybody. Do we have anyone here who wants to discuss this from
[1:31]
gallery sensors? No one signed up? No. Thank you.
[1:35]
Okay, then motion to close this motion.
[1:40]
A motion?
[1:41]
A motion.
[1:43]
No?
[1:46]
Now, that being done, we need to motion and I will motion to schedule a second reading of
[1:53]
this.
[1:54]
I believe that should be at the next council meeting, which is what the 20th.
[1:59]
The 19th.
[2:00]
The 19th, I'm sorry.
[2:01]
Yep, and then we do have that working session right beforehand, but they take not even a minute.
[2:06]
Yeah, I motion for the second reading to be for the 19th.
[2:12]
Oh, second.
[2:14]
Thank you.
[2:14]
Hold those in favor, say aye.
[2:17]
Opposed?
[2:18]
None.
[2:30]
Can I get a motion to approve the agenda as presented to us?
[2:35]
I think we did close it.
[2:36]
You did close it.
[2:37]
I think we did.
[2:38]
Yeah.
[2:38]
To open the reading again.
[2:40]
No, because we never really closed it.
[2:44]
And did you want to, there's, I loved you, no, to add to the agenda, item J, the Resolution
[2:53]
2629, requesting Minnesota State Fire Marshall to help facilitate merger of the fire department.
[3:00]
Very good.
[3:01]
I recall it, I'm not related to that.
[3:05]
I don't see people working here for me to read.
[3:08]
is it's something in the packet with that?
[3:10]
I don't know, maybe I don't remember why I'll put your phone on.
[3:12]
Okay, the just of it is is that with the coordination of looking into combining fire services
[3:19]
and whatever else ends up with that project, permission from the State Fire Martial to help assist
[3:29]
in the process and whatever capacity that person, he will require a resolution from the city of
[3:36]
as well as great Scott and Kenny individually for him to proceed officially in assisting.
[3:46]
So, can I get a motion?
[3:49]
Are you doing it as a resolution?
[3:50]
Yes, it's a resolution.
[3:52]
Okay, and the number again is...
[3:55]
Oh, 2629.
[3:56]
Resolution 2629.
[3:59]
requesting that we give permission to have the State Fire Martial Assist.
[4:07]
So, just make a motion to approve the agenda with that addition?
[4:11]
Yes.
[4:12]
To the agenda.
[4:14]
And I just put it in your folders as a...
[4:16]
Is it?
[4:17]
Okay. That's what I was asking.
[4:19]
All right. Perfect.
[4:21]
So, if I didn't...
[4:22]
I didn't get that.
[4:24]
Okay.
[4:26]
Pollows and figures say aye?
[4:28]
Aye.
[4:28]
Aye.
[4:29]
I proposed, none,
[4:34]
thank you.
[4:38]
Reports from Department has.
[4:45]
What quick updates, we got our final P.E.R. review letter from U.S.D.A.
[4:53]
on a preliminary engineering report and pretty much approved everything based on
[4:59]
an office call we had with coming up with the revised budgets, so I wanted to finish
[5:06]
be our based on all that. So that was kind of good news. So that's pretty much the last step
[5:13]
on a engineering report. And USDA is continuing to work with Shipple as far as the
[5:21]
Shipple State Historical Preservation Office review of the elevated storage tanks. So
[5:29]
the second item I had we had a conference call with Zenith Management and all you folks are
[5:35]
they're turning on the building, but the city is the fiscal agent for the intracular B-Craft.
[5:41]
On the requirements, we have to go to a competitive bidding process, so I have to
[5:47]
meet the architect or the team, the management, and our people are going to be putting
[5:53]
the plans and specs together, you know, to the city, and we have to go through a small
[5:58]
that is a bidding process for that project.
[6:02]
They're going to provide plans of specs.
[6:04]
We'll turn a biz over to them.
[6:07]
That's really on the city's only role.
[6:09]
They shouldn't have really any.
[6:11]
A little bit of administration time for, you know,
[6:14]
it's about that when the contractor
[6:18]
and curves cost.
[6:20]
You know, through Becky's office, she'll submit
[6:22]
the reimbursement for the required cost.
[6:25]
Okay.
[6:27]
Just so we don't know if that's the city's role in a project as they receive a grant.
[6:33]
And I was an economic development in a set up for the project and they're just going to
[6:39]
be the fiscal management, agriculture, sports, and that's all I have.
[6:44]
Thank you, John.
[6:45]
Thank you.
[6:50]
Really have anything?
[6:51]
I think everything is pretty much covered in here.
[6:54]
Okay.
[6:56]
Very good.
[6:58]
And the next would be citizens forum. I don't believe anyone signed up. It takes us to the consent agenda.
[7:07]
We have the minutes from the regular council meeting of April 21st, 2026.
[7:13]
You have the claims for payroll number 9, 16,000, $31.9.
[7:17]
And it cost payable number 1, 33,225 dollars, $3,000, and the payments total is $4,090,256 in 12 cents.
[7:30]
We have the first quarter financial statement to a motion to approve the consent agenda.
[7:38]
I'm a second.
[7:41]
All those in favor say aye.
[7:44]
Aye.
[7:45]
Opposed?
[7:46]
None.
[7:49]
Very good.
[7:53]
First item of business.
[7:55]
Wave the cap of your fee for the 125th celebration committee schedules.
[8:01]
and you have a few of 25 cents per page and you do it what they will come to.
[8:11]
They were thinking around 500 copies.
[8:13]
So, a good chunk.
[8:19]
What do we talk at 250 bucks or what do we want it?
[8:22]
100 and what's happened to 25, 24, 1250.
[8:32]
This is the basic fee that you charge anyone to come to.
[8:34]
It is.
[8:35]
It is not like a cost of $20 to $20.
[8:38]
Nice and safe.
[8:40]
No.
[8:40]
No.
[8:40]
That is just a basic behavior.
[8:42]
Because most people only come in and provide the 10 copies.
[8:46]
Yeah.
[8:46]
Or one or two.
[8:47]
Yep.
[8:48]
So I will mention.
[8:50]
Paul II.
[8:52]
Is it here or at the library?
[8:54]
This would be here.
[8:56]
So you will just observe that into the administrative office operating costs.
[9:01]
It is not that much.
[9:03]
No.
[9:03]
You know, the right of all of the crooks in the space she was going to bring a room of paper
[9:10]
I don't remember. I know I can't remember if she said that
[9:14]
So I'll have to ask her again, but yeah, it wasn't it in the lot with the giant scheme of things 500 pages
[9:21]
This is not very much. I copy more than that on the database. So
[9:26]
Sadly, I just cut down forests
[9:32]
The only thing I'm thinking is
[9:35]
I know certain citizens that have paid for a handful of copies in the past and complain about it, but
[9:45]
I think we could defend this as, yeah, it's a community thing.
[9:52]
All those of you who say, I post, none.
[9:56]
Okay, thank you.
[10:07]
It may not be improving resolution 2626 to allow the Evelith Elp's lodge to conduct gambling.
[10:18]
So they have a benefit at the highway.
[10:23]
The highway currently has great Scott.
[10:25]
Kenny Greets got talent ship, fire department, gambling.
[10:32]
So they're replacing their, yeah, so Kenny Greets got,
[10:36]
We'll no longer be within the height of way for gambling and the Elx of Elx of Elxlaw to move in.
[10:42]
Okay, that's good.
[10:47]
Can I get a motion to approve Resolution 2026 or Resolution allowing
[10:52]
Evilleth Elx live to conduct gambling?
[10:56]
Resolution?
[10:59]
Yes.
[10:59]
Yeah, okay.
[11:02]
Comsterechili. Yes. Comsterelockler. Yes.
[11:04]
Comsterechus. Comsterechus. Comsterechouner.
[11:07]
absent Mayor Matthews. Yes.
[11:14]
Thank you. Next we have Resolution 2627 civil
[11:19]
law order authorizing the different subject matter. I'm sorry authorizing convenience
[11:25]
and real estate. This was kicked around for quite a while trying to bring
[11:41]
with setbacks in what not to square up the property line. So the
[11:49]
fail was already approved. The warranty deed was approved. We just need a
[11:54]
resolution to approve the warranty deed. Basically. Because it's based on
[12:00]
property.
[12:01]
The fail of this piece of this property is that taking care of her is that in the
[12:06]
work ceiling, I don't remember anything about that.
[12:10]
Oh, yeah, he hasn't got back to me.
[12:13]
If that.
[12:14]
I mean, I know it's not part of this thing.
[12:16]
It is.
[12:17]
Right.
[12:17]
We give them.
[12:19]
Before we, we said that after.
[12:21]
Or, I mean, that's what to use.
[12:23]
I mean, it was offered multiple times.
[12:25]
Right.
[12:25]
So to all, do we want?
[12:27]
I know, again, it's, it's something that we should talk about.
[12:31]
Because how long do you want?
[12:33]
I mean, I, I mean, I, like, spend taking care of property.
[12:35]
But again, I, I, I, if he feels that it's his.
[12:38]
without payment. That might not be correct. If we're doing this, then we'll
[12:44]
all of our just, we shouldn't have shut up with Mike. Yeah, I can reach out to him again,
[12:51]
and then we shouldn't just talk about it. Yeah, and see where he'll sign
[12:54]
hands on it.
[13:01]
I'm wondering, what do we gain by rescinding the offer? We've already spent
[13:06]
the engineer and wanted to get it drawn up. I know, but we're trying to get him to pay for
[13:11]
Yes, yeah, so does it then is it what if if he doesn't then what happens that's
[13:19]
I mean, it's already paid for the city already paid for it. So that one's not his though. No
[13:25]
No, it's all it's the cities
[13:29]
Probably just keep mowing it like he has or you know offer it to maybe the love artist wanted you know that's that's another
[13:37]
option
[13:38]
Yeah
[13:39]
Maybe
[13:41]
Okay, I'll reach out to Anderson and see if he's interested, still at all, or anything else.
[13:48]
You know, it's not there to this group, and not have the other friends.
[13:54]
Well, while that's a valid point, let's take our vote on 2627, conveyance to large.
[14:07]
Yeah, but you have to make a motion to approve first.
[14:11]
I motion to approve resolution 2627 authorizing conveyance of the last one.
[14:17]
No, I don't think it would be this.
[14:22]
We'll do that after this.
[14:26]
Councillor Kiely, Councillor Loughler.
[14:29]
Councillor Teska, Ericson and Toner are absent.
[14:32]
Mayor Matthews.
[14:32]
Yes.
[14:35]
All right, does somebody want to motion for motion?
[14:38]
I'll second.
[14:41]
Just do an all-favor at the moment because we already went through.
[14:44]
All in favor say aye. Aye. Opposed. None.
[14:53]
Pick the video recording and so on.
[14:56]
That's the good motion.
[14:57]
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[15:00]
Okay. I'm married. I'm never a right sign.
[15:07]
In any event, next item is de-recognation of Kelley Gurgon from the
[15:12]
record. Kelley had some in-interrecognation to go to effect June 28th, 2026. Okay, I'm in a motion. Just
[15:23]
with your talk. Very good.
[15:27]
It's all right. So, Kelly. Kelly, I think you do such a good job. And I hate
[15:35]
personally, I told you I'm going to wear and go with this. And I personally think that you
[15:40]
do wonderful job for our city and for the report. And I know that you have the time for it.
[15:46]
And you have the, you have the gum chin for it. And I just, I just want to make sure that
[15:53]
you are really 100% sure behind the social nation
[15:56]
because I would like you to not design.
[16:01]
And if there's any chance that you will be sent
[16:03]
this before we hold on it.
[16:06]
It's just my, I watch your work.
[16:09]
And I want you to know that you're, you do good work.
[16:12]
Thank you.
[16:14]
It's not always easy.
[16:15]
You don't always, I mean, everybody doesn't always
[16:18]
see the good work and the hard work
[16:19]
that was behind this.
[16:20]
But I do know that you do a very good job.
[16:22]
and it's just hard with the, with the counselor, I'm not recognized.
[16:31]
But any of my rookie, no, I'm saying my votes, or any, any position that you hold.
[16:40]
It's not you guys, I know, if that any position that you hold, if that's what happens.
[16:46]
You know, but someday one day you're going to be heard and spoke at work.
[16:50]
and it just because you feel you're not being her and you are being watched, you are out there for a lot of people so it's hard.
[17:04]
It's just really hard because, yeah, any ideas or anything, you know, the other instruments only want one certain person wants,
[17:13]
but you are a person and you have, but that's only what that person wants, that the breadboard goes around.
[17:18]
That's why there's always that person that has to stand up and say, you know, it can be something different.
[17:23]
And I know Kelly, it's other things you do that.
[17:25]
It's hard.
[17:26]
It's hard.
[17:28]
I'm just trying to find out the other things you do.
[17:30]
I know.
[17:31]
You can't look at one person.
[17:32]
You have to look at everything you've done.
[17:34]
And everything you enjoy to do.
[17:35]
That's the part is the enjoyment that you're getting,
[17:38]
out of what I see.
[17:41]
Thank you.
[17:41]
I appreciate that.
[17:43]
So.
[17:45]
Are you going to pull it?
[17:47]
Maybe he'll kill me.
[17:50]
Just do it, it's best for you.
[17:51]
Whatever best for you.
[17:53]
Just wanted to make sure you knew that you are a value.
[17:55]
You can always come back, too.
[17:58]
Good things get better.
[18:00]
Because this position goes to when.
[18:02]
When are you supposed to give up this position?
[18:05]
June 27th.
[18:06]
A next year.
[18:07]
That's right.
[18:08]
What is the goal of this?
[18:10]
June 28th.
[18:11]
No.
[18:11]
No, the right.
[18:12]
What did you do this for two years?
[18:14]
One year?
[18:15]
I don't know.
[18:15]
I can't, I don't remember what it was, so it should be, it's usually, it might be in that year, which, you know, to me, I'd like to see you fulfill it for the whole year.
[18:25]
Okay, I'm not comfortable with it.
[18:27]
I'm not comfortable with it.
[18:28]
I'm not comfortable with it.
[18:31]
I'm not comfortable with it.
[18:32]
I'm not comfortable with it.
[18:33]
Why don't you make a motion to table this and let her, let her think about it.
[18:40]
I just wanted Kelly to know, and I just know that these positions are up at the end of the year or I don't know what Kelly has.
[18:45]
I can wait till the end of the year, I could do that because I would like to help with the Halloween.
[18:57]
Okay.
[18:58]
27.
[19:00]
27.
[19:01]
I'll tell you this.
[19:02]
But at least it's at the end of the year.
[19:04]
And if you feel the same way again, I mean, we can take this.
[19:08]
You know, we can vote on this.
[19:10]
But I just wanted to, I've been watching.
[19:12]
So, and I've been watching what you've been writing, so thank you.
[19:22]
So, we don't action.
[19:23]
We don't.
[19:24]
Can we table this?
[19:25]
I'm going to tell you.
[19:26]
And if you have another time to give it a little bit,
[19:29]
yeah, it's the next meeting.
[19:30]
If you really want it.
[19:31]
Yeah, I'll wait back.
[19:32]
Next meeting.
[19:33]
And just like if you're not here, we,
[19:35]
yeah, so we have you for sure till the end of the year.
[19:38]
I hope so.
[19:39]
Okay.
[19:39]
So, table.
[19:41]
Thank you Kelly.
[19:43]
I always go ahead of time.
[19:51]
okay that takes us to item E posted for filing for you'll see offices we've got
[20:01]
elections coming up a window for filing to run for public office the mayor seat
[20:08]
and two city council seats will be open from May 19th to June 2nd, 2026 from 7am to 4pm Monday through Thursday and 7am to 11am on Friday and until 5pm on June 2nd, 2026.
[20:25]
After David's some candidacy and a $2 filing fee are to be filled, file that seat hall.
[20:32]
Please see the fire for that. It's available upon request.
[20:38]
We're going to get a motion to approve posting of filing for the City of Viewer offices and on the City of Bolton Board and the City website.
[20:47]
I'm going to say it's tough looking.
[20:50]
Pollows in favor of C.I.
[20:51]
Aye.
[20:52]
Aye.
[20:52]
Opposed.
[20:53]
None.
[20:54]
Very good.
[21:00]
Takes us to F League of Minnesota Seasons.
[21:04]
Insurance Trust.
[21:06]
It's Council's approval on the premium choice.
[21:09]
The capacity is chosen regular premium option.
[21:13]
That's the fact that a good motion to approve.
[21:16]
The LMCAT premium option.
[21:20]
as the regular premium option.
[21:25]
I'll make that motion and I'll second that.
[21:27]
Thank you.
[21:29]
This is normal business every year.
[21:31]
All those in fear, say aye.
[21:33]
Aye.
[21:34]
Opposed.
[21:36]
None.
[21:37]
Thank you very much.
[21:39]
Next is approving a firewall device to keep the city information protected.
[21:45]
League of Minnesota's recommendation is for cities to protect the firewall, provide
[21:52]
their own firewall, and that's recommended by our IT Department Fusion Tap, mostly to
[22:00]
approve the purchase of a watch guard firebox at the price of $1,725 in 55 cents.
[22:08]
How motion?
[22:10]
I'll second.
[22:12]
Have we not had one before?
[22:14]
You're kidding.
[22:18]
Interesting.
[22:18]
Very.
[22:20]
Yeah.
[22:22]
Polls of favor say aye.
[22:24]
Aye.
[22:25]
Opposed.
[22:26]
None.
[22:36]
Tics us to item H, resolution 2628, accepting a donation to the C. City and Bill had budgeted $400 to go towards flags for the city, the flags when ordered were approximately $900. Mark Mackie is donating the $150 to help the city pay for the costs of the flags.
[23:00]
Can I get a motion to approve resolution 2628 except in the donation to the city from Mark Mackie?
[23:08]
I make that motion.
[23:09]
I'll second it.
[23:12]
Do they go to a different company here?
[23:14]
I don't know what eggs are.
[23:16]
I don't know if it's just inflation one up that much or yeah what happened but
[23:22]
Diana said that's the one they got ordered.
[23:24]
It was a huge difference and Mark thought it was really, really bad.
[23:29]
I hope that they possibly think about maybe looking at a different company.
[23:33]
Did they look at a different company?
[23:34]
No idea.
[23:35]
I would like to say I read an article and it's because it's the 250th for the US.
[23:43]
It's not just like about us, but we had a huge, huge demand on flags and they were all up.
[23:51]
Okay.
[23:51]
Like places are running out.
[23:53]
Yeah.
[23:57]
Okay.
[23:58]
I, you know, that's fine, you know, but I hope that's here.
[24:01]
It's not going to be.
[24:02]
So I would assume he'll look into it.
[24:05]
I mean, you know, you wanted to buy one.
[24:07]
It's the right.
[24:09]
But especially with our 100, we only went 400 or 400.
[24:13]
Right.
[24:13]
Right.
[24:14]
And I feel bad that Mark feels.
[24:20]
Okay.
[24:21]
You want to, I mean, we had a motion in the second.
[24:23]
You want to take a vote on that?
[24:24]
Yep, comes with Heli, comes with a lot of work.
[24:27]
Yes, comes with Tetsk and Eric's an encounter
[24:29]
are absent to Mayor Matthews.
[24:32]
Yes,
[24:39]
it takes us to item item,
[24:41]
expression of interest for the record,
[24:44]
and that back, did I skip something?
[24:47]
Yep, okay.
[24:48]
Sorry, submitted interest to be a part of the record.
[24:52]
We've got a form attached,
[24:54]
you know, you know, motion to a point and that,
[24:56]
that meant to be a city of your recreation board.
[25:00]
Thank you.
[25:02]
Thank you and that.
[25:07]
I oppose none.
[25:15]
It takes us to.
[25:18]
I don't know Jay.
[25:19]
We've got this edition resolution 2629 authorizing.
[25:24]
He requested the Minnesota State Fire Marshall to help facilitate a potential merger of
[25:30]
departments.
[25:40]
I'm going to think that this is one of the first steps to creating the new
[25:47]
fire district. It states something similar to that here and that was again part of the formation
[25:54]
of the whole grouping.
[25:58]
I actually talked with this. It's me as Pat. I can't remember how to say it
[26:08]
was like, hi me or something like that, and he will help facilitate this whole thing.
[26:14]
He's worked with many fire departments that came together and did the joint power.
[26:19]
So he knows the whole process.
[26:21]
So he's on a very knowledgeable, he was talking with the two chiefs and was able to,
[26:26]
you know, kind of get them on the path of what they should be doing in what steps.
[26:31]
And he was really happy to hear that they have really talked about a lot of the main points
[26:36]
that a lot of other fire departments don't hit on before you know they get to this point
[26:41]
with working with him so he was really excited that we are that are two fire departments
[26:46]
are already within the process and working to a good goal so.
[26:52]
It was laid out to us at the first committee meeting by the consultant that should be
[26:57]
right. Yep.
[27:01]
Okay. I don't know if I motion can I get a motion to approve resolution 2629.
[27:08]
I'm motion. I'm sorry.
[27:10]
Any further discussion?
[27:13]
Please take the vote.
[27:15]
Councillor Kiely. Yes. Councillor Loughler. Yes.
[27:18]
Councillor Tess Garrickson and Touner are absent. Mayor Matthews. Yes.
[27:27]
Yeah, that takes us to help lose dominance.
[27:33]
I got a couple of them.
[27:34]
Just reminding everybody of all our cleanup weeks coming in the beginning of June and start looking now.
[27:41]
It's interesting that today I did a folder or a flyer from my United Way that went into our envelopes.
[27:50]
And they're looking, they're looking for volunteers to, in their town, to go and help people with their houses, you know, fix them up a little bit, I know we talk a lot about our blight.
[28:07]
And the United Way is putting together people in Chism to do some of these things for people that can't do it.
[28:14]
and it kind of makes you think with our blades and our problem with blades that there are
[28:20]
probably people out there that can't clean their yards and I was wondering if there were
[28:25]
if they maybe could contact like City Hall and say I have a blade is sure I need help and
[28:30]
then after that we could work together and try to get volunteers to come and start cleaning up
[28:36]
some of these blade yards because I know they're doing the blade sweep this week this week
[28:41]
They're doing the right people.
[28:42]
We all know how public that goes, you know, all the time, but there are people probably
[28:47]
up there that cannot clean their yard or cannot do something in the yard.
[28:51]
So it would be nice if we could offer something or work on something that we could have residents
[28:58]
and volunteers in our own town go into these areas and maybe help these people.
[29:02]
You know, they may not have gotten over their head, you know, they don't know where to start
[29:06]
or they can't.
[29:06]
Yeah, I mean, it's just a thought that I'd like to see maybe like community involvement.
[29:10]
And community involvement, we have a lot of talk about maybe we need to put some action behind that.
[29:16]
And I think we probably have a lot of volunteers that would be willing to do it with the help of the city
[29:22]
and maybe, you know, like, you know, go into somebody's yard and just put everything on the boulevard
[29:27]
and you have the guys coming to pick it up or whatever, whatever it may need.
[29:31]
But how can we go about doing something like that?
[29:33]
of good idea would be if the council wanted to create a like a separate little board right now
[29:42]
to come to vacation. Why is he right? But this would be something like where you could have
[29:48]
a couple council members on it to come up with an idea on a plan and how is this going to be
[29:55]
and for, you know, started in Vietnam and how are you going to, like, find these residents.
[30:00]
And things like that. Right. And make them, you know, don't feel like you, you know, please don't hide, you know, please let us know that you need help, because we can come, I know there's a lot of good people in this town that would help.
[30:12]
So that was just kind of that we going today a little bit more on our blight, on our help, and then maybe we can do something in our town more.
[30:20]
or each of the counselors could even come up with ideas and talk about it at the next
[30:24]
meeting.
[30:25]
To all that are working for that.
[30:27]
That's right.
[30:28]
That was that one.
[30:32]
But again, the cleanup week is a reminder, because that is the first week of June or the second
[30:37]
week of June and June 6th.
[30:39]
I think it's the first week of June.
[30:41]
I think it's the first week of June.
[30:42]
So we're circling your things ready and calling city hall and painting things, so they
[30:46]
are prepared for what they have to pick up.
[30:48]
The second thing is, Renee and I went to a round meeting, it was the budget impact, and I don't
[30:54]
they have another one coming up in Virginia, and I recommend going if you have a chance you
[30:59]
should go, and they talked about the budget, they talked about the tax issue from the production
[31:05]
tax that we're not going to get, and they came up with, I mean, I took little notes here, and it's
[31:12]
It's time to make a shift because we're not going to get that money because it's not coming in.
[31:20]
The Dutch, it's going to be every year.
[31:24]
It's going to be less or less that the cities are going to get.
[31:26]
So they're telling us that we have to tighten our belt and we have to start working together.
[31:31]
We have to start.
[31:31]
If you like the way things are going, then continue doing them.
[31:35]
But you also, it's not going to be able to maintain, even probably help me out with this.
[31:41]
this but we can't maintain where we are with our budgets because we're not going to have the
[31:46]
same amount of money to work with, don't the road. It's like a five-year decrease that they were
[31:54]
talking about and they did say challenging is going to be the word when it comes to budgeting. So
[32:00]
they want you to be aware right now, you know, budgets that we don't start until July or August,
[32:05]
but they're taking our bells, they said, maybe start working with other communities on things
[32:12]
and then tax distributions, how will the loss of this affect our area in production taxes?
[32:19]
Will the new production, what will the new loss of production do?
[32:26]
I don't really want to add to this at all.
[32:30]
Yeah, I mean because the projection is like it's a three year, so that's why like right now
[32:35]
We're seeing like the decline or we're going to be seeing the decline
[32:37]
So even if like in the side of your talex or whatever it is like the new if they start building and we're still in the decline
[32:44]
And then it takes a while for it to go on to and so like they really recommend it
[32:49]
I mean, they were just like the aware of this
[32:52]
They want to your staff and everything to look at different ways to you know
[32:56]
Yes, we continue to do things the same way,
[32:59]
but maybe we can't anymore.
[33:00]
I mean, we have to have all of our staff look at different ways
[33:03]
to do things that are going to save money
[33:07]
because we're not going to have as much to work with.
[33:10]
And like she said, it's a declining three to five year,
[33:14]
but it also once if they do bring back the money,
[33:18]
and we start getting the tax back,
[33:19]
it also takes the five years to bring it back up.
[33:22]
So you're talking a long span here of multiple
[33:27]
taking up belts basically, challenging times, they said. But the meeting itself was very, very good.
[33:38]
And the speakers were excellent. And the talk about collaborating with other cities and different things like that.
[33:46]
It might have to do more collaborate without purchasing things and so you have to start thinking outside the box right now.
[33:55]
Right?
[33:57]
This was a good, good meeting, and I'm glad I went.
[34:02]
Um,
[34:11]
but things on that, um, color barium?
[34:14]
Okay.
[34:14]
Oh, I think I wanted to add that to our working session.
[34:17]
Okay.
[34:18]
I have, I'll just be bringing things to what I've received from two companies.
[34:24]
I know I talked about it by the boat.
[34:25]
I want to go for months ago.
[34:27]
And I do have some information on it.
[34:29]
Just haven't had time to really look at it.
[34:31]
Okay.
[34:31]
And if you can do it to the working session.
[34:37]
Um, a couple things, um, just, um, like if you're walking or like the drains and stuff like
[34:42]
that in the future to clear them off, um, I think that's important.
[34:47]
And then just, um, hopefully getting some weather would be important to, um, watch for kids
[34:53]
running around and, um, make sure that you're not driving super fast and anything that
[35:01]
Sorry, that was one more thing I was going to add, we actually were sitting on my right yard and again the reminders with the four wheelers.
[35:11]
You have to stop saying this for you too.
[35:14]
The alleys are not too increased speed in.
[35:17]
It is a privilege to write them into town, so let's keep the privilege for everyone.
[35:25]
I could not believe that all four of these did not stop, and then they went down, actually
[35:31]
Kelly's at me, and it raised all kinds of dirt, and they just chose that alley, but that's
[35:37]
not what it's for.
[35:38]
I mean, you go through town peacefully,
[35:43]
so it's just reminder.
[35:44]
That's
[35:48]
it. Again, John Janich mentioned the $100 that's really a big deal for our little
[36:00]
city. Working towards this yesterday, working towards that point for quite a while. And I'd
[36:08]
like to let everybody know that that was in coordination with the Zina property management
[36:15]
company that owns the existing apartment building and financial assistance from the
[36:21]
IEEE triple R. It wouldn't have happened without them or at least would not be happening
[36:27]
yet. So they deserve credit and this is a good thing.
[36:35]
I think that's it.
[36:37]
The city will be picking up a big 4x4 sign for my triple R on Thursday to put down
[36:44]
the property. Yes, we're not everybody to know that. And I also would like everybody to know
[36:51]
that by design this cooperation with zenith property management and the city of fuel this is
[37:00]
going to allow for a new apartment building to be constructed that will start this year
[37:05]
and that again by design it will virtually cost the city nothing to make this happen. So this is a very
[37:13]
a good business deal with the city, the IEEE triple R and Zina.
[37:19]
Washington to adjourn.
[37:21]
Thank you.
[37:22]
That was a favor to say aye.
[37:24]
Aye.
[37:24]
The polls?
[37:25]
No.
[37:26]
Thank you.
[37:27]
Pass this one, ever.
