[6:01] All in favor?
[6:02] All in favor?
[6:02] All in favor?
[6:03] All in favor?
[6:07] All in favor?
[6:08] of the year.
[6:09] Why
[6:18] has it been in our family for half a year losing my dad?
[6:23] But I was looking at pictures in place of when I was 40 and six, you know, the pictures
[6:35] I was afraid that Molly made it and said,
[6:39] what do you call me in?
[6:41] And then my dad this year, it was super special.
[6:44] I
[6:47] put super special night.
[6:49] And I'm really, a lot of people ask me all the time.
[6:53] They still enjoy it, and I really did.
[6:56] And I didn't at first.
[7:00] It was tough, but you know, I just want to commend each
[7:05] every one of you to set up here is a time job, sometimes it's a pipe of job.
[7:12] I'll say that it's a benefit for us in some ways and probably moralize it.
[7:19] And now each of us has a special phase and a more special two that's been out of it
[7:24] that we've been working on and being a lot to us.
[7:26] And so when you see that some of the climate,
[7:29] mission, or even finish, it's a pretty special thing.
[7:33] So I'm enjoying working with each of you.
[7:36] I think we've got just the best sitting in the air.
[7:40] You guys are awesome, don't know about no value.
[7:44] And our directors in your office class,
[7:48] and I think we are so blessed to have each
[7:51] and every one of you leaders in what you do,
[7:54] the passionate about what you do.
[7:55] You care about the city and everything in it,
[7:58] and it shows in everything you do.
[8:05] I guess so.
[8:26] I guess so.
[8:29] because it's been an honor to be able to do something like that.
[8:32] I think this thing has a whole real enjoy that I think Council staff,
[8:38] everyone that's participating in the fabulous play that we put on the table.
[8:43] We do think we're kind of a new, meaningful thing together, really big.
[8:49] You know, each and every one, you know, not just here, but those out there
[8:53] and some of the other community members, you know,
[8:55] That's a great experience I didn't think that, like I said, you know, from the 17th of the
[9:02] dance and where I felt that, you can't wait to see it.
[9:05] But it actually happens.
[9:08] But you know, as we mentioned, it's just a matter of fact.
[9:11] The staff is not at all about, you know, continue to be a part of it.
[9:15] You know, you know, actually projects there, you know, give them a mix of all of that stuff.
[9:22] I'm going to help you over that part, because sometimes you see that, and the next floor can be as well, so I think we're going to see if you should make that move.
[9:32] That's why we need a part of your experience.
[9:34] I think we're going to have to investigate how many things, due to the leadership of staff who brought the leadership up here.
[10:16] We needed to assist all the chin-hole with me because I tell you, I wish I could build up and get a point.
[10:26] And just keep the world a light for us.
[10:31] Yeah.
[10:32] We had a perilous time.
[10:34] I'm grateful to be here.
[10:37] I have a father and that's a plan.
[10:40] Even though we not know what that plan is, there is a plan.
[10:43] I mean, sometimes it's a lot of yellow, and that's why I'm trying to use all of the skills
[10:48] and all of the skills that I'm going to do in my career, but I honestly, I'm grateful
[10:55] to have all of the services that I've been doing in my area of business and that I do.
[11:00] We both have been an honor to serve up here again this year with all the council and
[11:05] offer administration.
[11:07] I want to thank you all for a very good year.
[11:09] It was a challenging year overall, but a great year.
[11:13] and they say time flies when you're having fun so I think time flew this year it's
[11:19] hard to believe it's over the young looking forward to a great 2018 and working
[11:24] with you all again next year. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a happy
[11:28] blessed new year.
[11:32] I've been up here a long time I've sat with 16 different people up
[11:36] here and I've seen a lot of different department heads through the years a couple of
[11:46] council and mayor and you all we we we worked so well. We're really good. Yeah, we're
[11:54] up to that.
[11:57] Well, listen, I've had a good year. We became grandparents for the 10th time
[12:16] So our youngest grandchild is younger than our great-grandson.
[12:22] But anyway, it's been a good year.
[12:24] I wish all of you very, very gross.
[12:27] Very good next year and safety.
[12:32] So this has been a busy year, particularly for our city staff.
[12:35] It's all the construction, the type 8 projects,
[12:47] It's just been crazy, and you know, when I was elected to council five years ago, I never
[12:55] dreamed that I would be able to work with such a fine group of people.
[13:00] I'm not just blowing smoke in your face, I know what y'all do day in and day out.
[13:05] You make this, I said before you make this look really good, all of staff does and I think
[13:12] I couldn't help but laugh when Ron was talking about the play, you know, some of us were
[13:16] in the play and it really did was a great team building.
[13:22] So what did you play?
[13:25] You had great swimming.
[13:26] That was one person.
[13:27] I'm not a swimmer.
[13:29] Yeah, some of us did race at the stage but the rest of us were.
[13:33] He wasn't sick.
[13:37] You couldn't walk, but it's gone out in the wheelchair.
[13:40] I'm sure Susan could come up to something, but it's not that bad.
[13:43] But anyway, I've just really wanted to thank all of you for making this city what it is
[13:49] and for your dedication and what you do there with this city in your home.
[13:55] Thank you.
[14:07] There's so much that was said that I could repeat and want to try not to.
[14:14] I think this each of y'all talking, you know, it's been a journey and it's been a unique
[14:24] journey.
[14:25] It's sort of good and bad that life has brought us, we're blessed no matter how you want
[14:31] to put it.
[14:34] You know, as the people that were here being, some that have flooded, you know, we'll
[14:40] put you into our best to mitigate very home, and keep any homes from flooding.
[14:46] It might be unattainable, but we're in a unique position that we've got a much better
[14:52] opportunity to mitigate death in a lot of cities.
[14:59] You know, I'm blessed to...
[15:09] We got some of the most caught by people in the whole region that have vast experience has been through there. And I was speaking with another matter. He had nobody in staff that had any experience with following theme of stuff.
[15:22] and I was blessed to be able to say we're here, you know, and I gave him Robert's
[15:28] number to the needs and guidance, but, you know, we're blessed to have your baby to probably
[15:34] come along.
[15:35] Robert's going, oh boy.
[15:38] His evaluation's coming up, Robert.
[15:42] It's just amazing the experience and our community is blessed and it's such an honor to
[15:49] work with each of you and that it's come such a long way and I'm just blown away
[15:55] because her life's gone through that strategic plan and I remember when we were
[16:01] formed on all that and I'm like, we're never gonna get on that data and I think
[16:05] Mr. Jackson said we're way ahead is okay. I mean that's as you alluded to
[16:10] thing it's a collaborative team effort there's no question. I get a lot of pros and
[16:16] comments about a lot of things and it's easy for me to say we got a great working relationship
[16:21] with Council and staff and we're doing a good job and I expect big things in 18. I hate to say it
[16:29] but we almost probably have just a busy year in 18 as we did in 17 and thanks to a lot of hard work
[16:36] and implementation and strategic plan we may have a circle to busy years looking forward and staff
[16:44] most probably like we shall slow down but it was just a good season and it's been a good ending
[16:53] of both blessed and challenging here all the same time and you know I've been able to go to
[17:04] some churches over the last few weeks and present blacks and appreciation of thinking them for their
[17:09] fact and you know it's kind of it's kind of touch me you know to realize how
[17:14] blessed our community is and when things don't go the way we plan you know
[17:20] people helping each other and reaching out and doing what their best they can
[17:25] to make a difference in someone else's life and as Bill said you know sometimes
[17:31] it feels like we're in Japan but nonetheless you know we've got real people that
[17:36] lived here to have difficult situations going on every day.
[17:40] We've had several incidents here in the last few days
[17:43] in just some very tragic situations.
[17:48] But we got great staff.
[17:50] They make a huge difference.
[17:53] I've been blessed to walk through a journey
[17:55] with some dear friends of ours.
[17:56] If their son committed suicide last Christmas
[17:59] in that anniversary's coming up.
[18:01] And she was able, the mother was
[18:05] I was able to go through the citizens' police academy and I don't worry, I've talked to them quite often and it's just a never-ending amount of compliments to staff and police department and how took they were.
[18:25] We invest all these resources so they can do their jobs, where in some cases the worst
[18:32] day people have ever had, we've got people showing up in a very expensive fire truck to
[18:39] deal with a very difficult situation and our police department does it on daily basis.
[18:44] All of the departments have to handle some very challenging and I see day in and day out
[18:49] them stepping forward and just doing it with small neck face and the best job they can.
[18:56] Mr. Stokes, our fearless leader who I get the privilege to work with very closely.
[19:00] It does a great job and I command you and all the directors.
[19:06] I don't only imagine some of the stuff y'all talk about and the directors meeting about all the
[19:11] stuff that we hand in to them.
[19:13] We never talk about y'all.
[19:14] I don't go any longer.
[19:15] I'm glad to have you.
[19:17] I just saw your nose a minute ago.
[19:20] I'm scared.
[19:22] Yeah, it was like a minute ago.
[19:24] I'm very proud to work with everybody up here.
[19:27] And I look forward to a new year next year.
[19:31] So Merry Christmas to each of you.
[19:33] And with that said, this meeting is adjourned.
