[6:39] made a declaration at the committee the whole two related

[6:42] to the above noted matter out in abundance of caution.

[6:48] The timing of the special council meeting resulted in an

[6:51] expert that it process I did not identify the potential

[6:54] conflict in advance through inadvertance occasion by the aforementioned expedited

[7:01] process. This was inadvertent. Oversight and there was no intention

[7:09] to withhold the disclosure. Evidence by the fact that the

[7:13] disclosure was in fact made as it relates to the

[7:16] committee of the whole agenda. I am providing this declaration

[7:21] of interest to ensure that the potential interest is disclosed.

[9:59] two ceremonial presentations. The first one is exciting to me

[10:02] because we get to acknowledge the incredible work of one

[10:05] of our exceptional city staff. A member of our cities

[10:09] parks, forestry, and horticultural operations team has been recognised for

[10:15] excellence in arboro culture. Did I get that right, Shannon?

[10:19] Okay, good. It's the first time I've ever said that

[10:21] word out loud, which is very, very happy that I

[10:24] got it right. So forestry inspector, Cary, Stea Hanson. Has

[10:29] received the women in arboro culture, Ontario award of recognition

[10:34] presented by the International Society of Arboro culture, Ontario. Who

[10:39] knew I'd get to say it three times in the

[10:41] same segment. Uh, honouring her for her expertise and leadership

[10:45] in this field. The international society of our borough culture,

[10:49] Ontario, awards of distinction, celebrate individuals and organisations making significant

[10:54] contributions to our provinces, forestry sector. The women in arboro

[10:59] culture, Ontario highlights and advances the role of women in

[11:02] the field with its award of recognition on our ring

[11:06] those who support and encourage women entering and growing in

[11:09] the profession. Now we know that Vaughn is home to

[11:13] so many remarkable parks and wilderness areas. And it is

[11:16] truly vital for us, all of us, to be their

[11:19] biggest champion. This acknowledgement tells me that our city is

[11:23] on the right track. Through her role as a forestry

[11:26] inspector, Carrie Hashon, a deep dedication to protecting and enhancing

[11:31] bonds tree canopy, contributing to a greener, healthier, and more

[11:34] sustainable city for all of our residents. And this award.

[11:38] Reflects her expertise and professionalism and her leadership in commitment

[11:43] to advancing the arboro culture industry. Cary, please accept our

[11:48] warmest congratulations and thanks for your incredible work. Your passion

[11:53] that we know infuses your work is something that we

[12:19] guests joining us today. It is a pleasure to recognise

[12:23] an outstanding member of our urban forestry team and individual

[12:26] whose impact actually extends beyond this organisation. The award of

[12:30] recognition from the international society of a bora culture, Ontario,

[12:34] in partnership with the women in a boraculture, Ontario committee

[12:37] celebrates individuals who have made meaningful contributions to urban forestry.

[12:42] This award is presented to an individual who demonstrates leadership

[12:46] in a strong commitment to supporting and encouraging women in

[12:49] the industry. We are incredibly proud of Cary Stia Hansen,

[12:53] a forestry inspector as this year's recipient. In her role,

[12:57] she plays a critical part in protecting and maintaining our

[13:00] urban forest, ensuring that development is balanced with preservation. And

[13:06] that our tree canopy continues to thrive for future generations.

[13:10] Cary brings with her two decades of experience. And after

[13:14] 16 years as a production arborist, she developed a strong

[13:18] technical expertise in a deep connection to the profession. Through

[13:23] her work as a tree climber, she has had the

[13:25] unique opportunity to see cities and communities from a different

[13:29] vantage point high up in the trees, shaping her perspective

[13:33] and appreciation for the landscapes she now helps protect. Cary

[13:38] is a member of the women in a borough culture,

[13:40] Ontario Committee and was the driving force in its early

[13:43] development. Her example has encouraged peers and emerging arborists alike

[13:51] to see themselves as leaders, as experts and essential contributors.

[13:56] She is also seen as a positive change in the

[13:58] industry and is proud to witness the study growth in

[14:01] the number of women entering the profession each year. Cary

[14:05] once again, thank you for your dedication, your leadership and

[14:08] the meaningful impact you continue to make each day.

[17:57] exciting one. Can see lots of our great friends from

[18:00] Von Soccer here today. Uh, on behalf of the city

[18:03] of bond and members of council, I want to welcome

[18:06] the Vaughn outsoury U18 girls. I'm going to say girls

[18:10] eye model. Did I get that right. I'm looking, okay,

[18:13] I see that I see nodding heads. The girls I

[18:16] model team and the Vanaturi U17OPDL boys team. As well,

[18:22] of course, as their coaches, team staff, families, friends and

[18:26] supporters right here to there, to our Vaughn City Hall.

[18:29] Thank you so much for joining us today for this

[18:31] celebration. Now colleagues, these two teams have had a truly

[18:35] remarkable soccer season. First, I want to congratulate the bonoed

[18:40] sodium U18 girls. I model team for becoming 2007 girls,

[18:45] Ontario Cup champions, which I think is fantastic. How about

[18:48] a big round of applause. This team has had an

[18:54] unbelievable season. Not only did they win their league, but

[18:57] they went on to capture the milk up Ontario cup.

[19:01] This championship is not only the largest club competition in

[19:03] Canada. But also one of the oldest and most prestigious

[19:07] sporting events in the country. This is a truly special

[19:11] and remarkable achievement. And next, I'd also like to congratulate

[19:15] the von U17OPDL boys who had become the 2008 boys

[19:21] OPDL charity shield cup champions. Another big round of applause.

[19:29] Their season has been nothing short about standing. They captured

[19:31] the Gary Miller charity shield and claimed the championship of

[19:35] the OPDL premier division for the second consecutive year. The

[19:39] OPDL is the province's prestigious high performance youth league where

[19:43] the standards are high and the competition is fierce. I

[19:47] cannot emphasize enough how amazing these achievements are. To both

[19:52] teams, please know that your winds go beyond the trophies.

[19:55] You have demonstrated leadership. Sportsmanship and a commitment to excellence

[20:00] that I know and we know inspires everyone around you.

[20:03] From your teammates to your coaches to your families and

[20:06] to our broader community. Of course I do want to

[20:09] recognise the coaches, the team staff, the families, the friends

[20:12] of the players, because I know the entire ecosystem of

[20:16] support with the guidance and the encouragement played a huge

[20:21] part and the team's successes. Congratulations once again to our

[20:26] champions. We can't wait to see what you all accomplish

[20:29] next. I'd now like to turn things over to Ward

[20:32] I Councillor, Maryland and I Ayafrady to say a few

[20:44] and I really want to share my warmest congratulations to

[20:49] both of you because you've all worked so hard and

[20:51] you've rose to the occasion when it mattered most, demonstrating

[20:55] skill, teamwork and a deep commitment to one another. You've

[20:59] set a benchmark for what it means to be a

[21:01] team and represented your club with pride and distinction, not

[21:06] just your club, but also the entire community. And I

[21:10] thank you for that. To the coaches and team staff,

[21:15] uh, you're dedicated leadership and guidance for players as immeasurable.

[21:21] For the family and friends, thank you for always being

[21:23] in the Players Corner. I had a few other comments

[21:28] that were shared with me that I thought, you know,

[21:31] I want to put out there. Like this was a

[21:33] remarkable. I'll start with the girls Ontario Cup champions. Um,

[21:38] this was an enormous, enormous win for the girls. And

[21:43] they've won so many championships, uh, you know, in the

[21:46] last year or two. And they, um, you know, they've,

[21:50] they've competed. So the, um, the final competition, which we

[21:55] are recognising them for, aside being the oldest sporting event

[21:58] in the country had over 12, 000 athletes and over

[22:04] 500 teams competing across 22 divisions. And this happens every

[22:09] year. So with the girls, thank you for being here.

[22:12] Thank you for showing off your medals. I always love

[22:14] seeing that. And I'd also like to thank the coaches,

[22:18] Marcello Capuzzolo and Gabe Leo and managers Mark Arduini and

[22:23] Jennifer Lavorato. I think I said that right, correct? And,

[22:28] uh, for the boys, the Gary Miller charity shield has,

[22:32] it's a charity event and, um, it's a signature event

[22:35] for the OPDL calendar. And it certainly demonstrates that player

[22:40] development extend beyond the pitch encouraging leadership empathy and a

[22:43] commitment to give back. And in having said that, that

[22:46] team donated the proceeds, uh, from Ontario soccer to sick

[22:51] kids. So thank you boys for the great work you've

[22:54] done there. And I also would like to thank head

[22:57] coach Luca Forno goalkeeper coach Dominic Gentile. Congratulations to both

[34:18] the victims of mass murder in Iran. Um, I think

[34:21] that, uh, our community has shown that we are going

[34:24] to stand in solidarity. Um, with the people who support

[34:28] democracy and freedom. And, um, I would hope that maybe

[34:33] the, um, kind of in person or to have some

[34:36] kind of temporary plaque or something that we could do

[34:39] to honour the victims or people could leave messages or

[34:42] if there was anything that we could, um, I would

[34:45] certainly support that. Does anyone else supposed to comment before

[34:50] I provide some very brief reform marks? Anyone else? No.

[34:52] Okay. Just so, I mean, it's, it's evident from, and

[34:55] again, for those who might not have caught it when

[34:57] we went through the earlier part of the agenda, the

[35:00] title for the members resolution is honouring and commemorating the

[35:02] victims of mass murder in Iran. I think everyone here

[35:05] knows that this year has been an exceedingly difficult time

[35:08] for the Iranian Canadian community, certainly here in our city,

[35:11] but also right across this country. And frankly, right around

[35:14] the world. And I'm very proud of the fact that

[35:17] in partnership with the community, we were one of the

[35:19] first city halls anywhere in this province to fly proudly.

[35:24] The lion and sun flag on what might have been

[35:25] the coldest night of the year, but there were still

[35:28] several hundred von residents. And York region residents who braved

[35:31] the weather and were here to very clearly make a

[35:35] statement about the importance of supporting their loved ones. Um,

[35:39] back home in Iran who are facing some of the

[35:41] most horrific conditions imaginable as the terrorist regime and control

[35:46] of that country now for nearly five decades was literally

[35:49] murdering innocent people in the streets, their own people in

[35:53] the streets, people who are simply looking to live a

[35:55] world in a world or in a country where freedom,

[36:00] equality, democracy, writes the things that we tend to take

[36:03] for granted here in Canada. Um, could we come part

[36:06] of their daily life back home in Iran. Colleagues will

[36:10] remember. We also hosted here on a Saturday many, many

[36:14] weeks ago a bit of a vigil, well not a

[36:16] bit of a vigil. A vigil to honour the tens

[36:19] of thousands who were slaughtered by the terrorist regime in

[36:22] Iran. I raised these things not to be excessively somber,

[36:25] but I raised them because I'm proud of the fact

[36:27] that here in Vaughn, we have not, we have not

[36:30] sat back as spectators while the Iranian Canadian community in

[36:34] our city has been suffering. And while it's being so

[36:37] difficult, we have demonstrated our commitment in our solidarity with

[36:41] the community and proudly. So then I believe this resolution

[36:45] is a natural extension. The natural next step and demonstrating,

[36:50] um, our solidarity and our desire and determination to stand

[36:55] shoulder to shoulder with the community that continues to suffer.

[36:58] Uh, these last number of months. And these last number

[37:00] of decades. So I am very proud to bring this

[37:03] forward. I'm chairing the meeting today. So I'm not going
