[6:43] some projects just don't go as planned.

[6:47] Lucas Construction is the general

[6:49] contractor for that project.

[6:53] And what we're doing with that, for

[6:55] those of you who aren't aware,

[6:57] uh TexDOT has recently, well, not really

[7:01] recently, but it's relatively new in the

[7:02] industry, approved a reinforced asphalt

[7:05] construction style that they actually

[7:08] use for airport runways.

[7:10] So, it's supposed to last basically the

[7:12] same time as concrete, just about, but

[7:15] not cost as much as a full depth

[7:17] concrete roadway.

[7:19] And it consists of an underlayer on

[7:23] about a four and a four and a half inch

[7:24] mill, which we had in places,

[7:26] two inches of the first layer of

[7:30] asphalt, and then after that cures for a

[7:32] couple of days, they come in, uh apply a

[7:34] substance to it, and put this fiberglass

[7:37] uh reinforced mesh down before the next

[7:40] layer.

[7:42] Well, it's still new enough in the

[7:44] industry that

[7:45] sometimes it's hard to get the one-off

[7:47] sizes of that mesh. And Lucas was

[7:50] guaranteed

[7:52] uh

[7:52] the week before last that they would

[7:54] have that mesh on site last Tuesday.

[7:57] Uh

[7:58] Lucas came out, mobilized all their

[8:00] stuff, milled that road down on Monday.

[8:03] And when I checked by with their foreman

[8:04] on Monday afternoon, he was getting off

[8:06] the phone with the supplier who said,

[8:08] "We won't have it for a couple weeks."

[8:11] And at that time we didn't know if

[8:14] you leave that first layer down too

[8:16] long, if it's going to cause adhesion

[8:18] problems when they go to put the layer

[8:20] the second layer and all that stuff on.

[8:21] So, Lucas had to cancel the asphalt

[8:24] laying for the next day.

[8:27] And

[8:28] basically the way asphalt is right now,

[8:30] it's under high demand and they can only

[8:31] keep it for a certain number of

[8:33] certain amount of time once they get it

[8:35] to the right mixture consistency and all

[8:36] these

[8:37] uh constraints. So,

[8:39] they had to reschedule the asphalt.

[8:41] Unfortunately, for those on the north

[8:42] end of Narcissus, that didn't come in

[8:44] until yesterday, but they finally got

[8:47] that bottom layer down.

[8:50] And right now they're telling us that

[8:53] next week after Labor Day, we should be

[8:55] able to get the uh

[8:57] the mesh.

[8:58] So, I was reluctant to put that out. I

[9:00] didn't actually share it. Um

[9:03] the Lucas Construction representative

[9:05] shared that online.

[9:07] Um but I I'm reluctant to do that at

[9:09] that point because I don't feel like I

[9:10] can tell somebody in the group, "Hey,

[9:12] we're really sure that these are the

[9:14] dates we're going to use." I'm not

[9:15] confident in that yet, but we will keep

[9:17] you informed of any more hiccups that

[9:19] will

[10:08] the non-working pool lights. Uh we have

[10:10] seven lights in the pool, only two of

[10:11] them are functional.

[10:13] Um they are the old mercury vapor type

[10:16] no halogen type um pool lights that

[10:18] nobody even makes anymore.

[10:20] So, we're getting quotes to replace

[10:22] those with the LED lights.

[10:24] Uh Grove Park,

[10:27] getting quotes to um install pavers

[10:29] between the roadway surface and the

[10:32] fence line at Grove Park.

[10:42] The the drain all of that drains forward

[10:55] rains washes down into the storm sewer

[11:06] pipe that crosses under the road there

[11:09] from the north side to the south side of

[11:12] Grove. So, we have we need to do

[11:14] something to solidify that. So, we're

[11:15] looking at paving that with some sort of

[11:18] design. I've been working with Mary. Saw

[11:20] Mary here this year.

[11:21] Um we're getting quotes on that and

[11:23] there's going to be some sort of design.

[11:25] Call it, you know, kids park, Grove

[11:26] Park, something like that to where it

[11:28] also has some nice

[11:30] um

[11:31] nice appeal to it. So, it's not just a

[11:32] slab of nameless concrete, faceless

[11:35] concrete.

[11:36] But, it also keeps some of the drainage

[11:38] problems at bay.

[11:39] And then, uh, a couple weeks ago, as I

[11:41] mentioned during our budget works out

[11:43] earlier, one of our officers was struck

[11:45] while patrolling the Target parking lot

[11:48] area.

[11:49] And, uh,

[11:51] patrol cars don't hold up well to an

[11:52] F-450 pickup. And so,

[11:55] they're still dismantling it to find all

[11:57] the damage. It may end up being a total.

[11:59] So, that may be an expense we have to

[12:01] And for those of you in the audience,

[12:05] because of all the equipment that goes

[12:07] inside those cars, my last time to buy

[12:10] them was about 5 years ago, and we were

[12:12] paying over 75 grand for a fully loaded

[12:15] car within that's a base model with just

[12:17] the equipment that goes in it.

[12:19] So, uh, it's a big chunk of change

[12:20] whenever something like that happens.

[12:22] So, we'll hope that if it is totaled, we

[12:24] get a good check at least from our

[12:26] insurance company.
