There's one item on the consent agenda, 2026-09-C1.
[7:08]
Are there any questions?
[7:12]
Can I have a motion?
[7:14]
Let's share our make-emotion to approve the consent agenda.
[7:18]
Second. Second. Great. All those in favor say aye.
[7:21]
All right. All those opposed say nay. Motion carries. Thank you. Now we action my action items
[7:30]
The next item on the agenda is 2026-9-1, report out of the organization education policy committee, first reading, Trustee Hardin.
[7:39]
Yes, sir. We had a committee meeting this afternoon, references this item. We covered three potential updates and new policies, CRB local technology resources, artificial intelligence.
[7:57]
D.G.B.A. local personnel management relations employee grievances and G.B. local public
[8:06]
complaints and hearings.
[8:08]
We had a very educational explanation that some of us understood on an artificial intelligence,
[8:19]
some of it was above our heads, but it was very interesting.
[8:23]
this is only the first reading, so we will take that up at the next board meeting, if anybody
[8:31]
has any additional comments or questions, please let us know. No action was taken.
[8:36]
Okay, great. The next item I agenda is 2026-09-2 report out of the organization education policy
[8:43]
committee, second reading, consideration approval, trustee Hardin. Yep, let me get to that.
[8:49]
Well,
[9:00]
the first reading of these were last time, there were, and for the first meeting too,
[9:07]
we had five trustees there, Trustee Edcock, Alexander,
[9:15]
and or sad and myself,
[9:23]
Dr.
[9:23]
and three individuals from the faculty.
[9:31]
These five items were discussed last time.
[9:38]

[9:43]

[9:48]

[9:57]
There were no changes brought forward from the ones that were presented last month.
[10:04]
It was motionless seconds, so it comes to the Board with a positive recommendation.
[10:10]
Thank you. Are there any questions?
[10:11]
comments.
[10:14]
Not hearing.
[10:16]
I need to have a motion for.
[10:18]
Motion is like an already.
[10:20]
Oh, already say.
[10:21]
All those in favor say aye.
[10:23]
I'll say nay.
[10:25]
Thank you.
[10:26]
The
[10:28]
next item on the agenda is 2026-09-3 report out of the campus facilities and construction committee.
[10:36]
Consideration of approval on the amendment for
[10:38]
Architectural Design Contract issued by PBK.
[10:42]
Inc. provide design services for New Health Science Center at the Frisco Campus, Dr.
[10:47]
Menning.
[10:48]
Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
[10:49]
The Campus Facilities and Construction Committee met on September 15th.
[10:54]
The meeting was attended by committee members Kathy Alexander, Trustee Day Sad, and myself.
[11:01]
Trustee Adcock also attended as was Dr. Mattkin, Dr. Bill King and Mr. Chris
[11:07]
Isle, where they are on behalf of the administration.
[11:10]
Construction. Construction of the new facility in Frisco has been proceeding ahead of the original schedule, and current market conditions from material and labor are stable, presenting a good opportunity for us to finish out the third floor in the next year.
[11:25]
This was originally designed to just be a shell. Now we're going to finish it out. The committee recommends approval of an amendment to the architectural design services contract.
[11:35]
issued to PBK Architects Inc. in the amount of $997,200,000,
[11:41]
increasing the design contract amount from $3,767,040 to $4,764,240 to complete this project.
[11:54]
This comes in the form of emotion and a second from the committee.
[11:58]
All right, does anybody have any questions?
[12:00]
Not here any of those, all those in favor say aye.
[12:05]
Aye.
[12:06]
Again say nay.
[12:07]
Motion carries.
[12:08]
Thank you.
[12:13]
Next slide on agenda is 20.
[12:16]
26-9-4 report out of the campus facilities and construction committee.
[12:20]
In consideration of approval of an amendment for guaranteed maximum price contract issued by McCarthy building companies.
[12:27]
Inc.
[12:28]
For the construction of the new Health Science Center at the Frisco campus.
[12:31]
Dr. Minion.
[12:32]
Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
[12:34]
The same facilities and construction committee meeting was there is another agenda item for
[12:39]
this subject that the chair just mentioned in order to meet the timeline for the purchase
[12:43]
of long lead equipment, while current market conditions from material and labor are stable,
[12:48]
to finish out the third floor of the new Health Sciences Center at the Frisco Campus.
[12:53]
The committee recommends approval of an amendment to the GMP, the grantee maximum price to contract.
[13:00]
So there is a GMP. One before that. This is GMP 2.
[13:03]
Issued to McCarthy building companies in an amount not to exceed
[13:06]
2,250,000 dollars.
[13:09]
Increasing the current GMP 2...
[13:11]
From 55,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, and add home to 5,000.
[13:16]
To 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
[13:20]
This is also comes in the form of motion in the second, Ms. Chairman. Thank you.
[13:24]
All right. Are there any questions or comments?
[13:27]
I do have a question.
[13:28]
Good to you both second. Thank you.
[13:30]
Mr. Chairman, can we just get clarification on what this space is going to be used for?
[13:35]
For the third floor? Yes.
[13:37]
Right. Or Mr. President Mackie?
[13:40]
On the third floor, there are a series of labs. The Frisco campus is the only campus that we've
[13:46]
not refreshed the labs from the original building. So it was in the plan to refresh those labs
[13:52]
one at a time. And so what this is supposed to be used for is expansion of existing labs.
[13:58]
In any place that we built, a new labs, for example, Plano or our McKinney, those labs
[14:03]
fill up very quickly.
[14:05]
And so, the main thing is to use it for that space, but it's also the timing is about
[14:10]
cost of evidence for future expansion.
[14:15]
And do you expect that to delay the opening of the building at all?
[14:18]
No, sure.
[14:19]
I think that we're in the process of figuring out the staging of the building.
[14:22]
The first four, we know what's going to happen.
[14:25]
The second four is always been a phase in because it's more existing programs as opposed
[14:29]
phasing over and so that existing space that they're abandoning will be repurposed so it's a whole
[14:35]
process and we haven't totally got it fleshed out as far as the move in but we think it's going to work
[14:39]
up to our favor. Thank you. Okay. Okay. I'm assuming we kind of are as soon we don't know exactly what's
[14:50]
going to go there so we're probably building it a little bit where we're flexible list and then
[14:55]
what the actual needs are.
[14:57]
Yes, sir, the labs are somewhat generic in the office spaces.
[15:00]
Again, the first goes our fastest growing area. So we think that, like I said, it will fill up quickly, but we have left a little bit, a little bit yet to be defined. All the third four.
[15:10]
Thank you, sir. Any other questions? Anybody? Not hearing.
[15:15]
I'd like the motion has been made. All those in favour, signify by saying aye. All right. All those opposed say nay. Motion carries. Thank you.
[15:26]
Next time, my agenda is 20609-5, report out of the Finance and Audit Committee, consideration
[15:33]
of approval, a budget amendment for the Architectural Design Contract issued by PBK Architects
[15:40]
Inc.
[15:40]
To provide design services for the new Health Center Science in Frisco Campus, Trustee Weaver.
[15:47]
Thank you.
[15:48]
The Finance and Audit Committee met on September 15, 2026, myself, committee members, and
[15:55]
Alison, we're present, other trustees present.
[15:57]
We're Trustee Alexander and Chairman Sad, as well as Dr.
[16:01]
Mattkin, Melissa Irvie, and Todd Hortman.
[16:05]
The 2026-095 report out of the Finance and Audit Committee
[16:08]
and consideration of approval for of a budget amendment
[16:11]
to the Architectural Design, Contract Issues PVK Architects,
[16:15]
and to provide design services for the New Health
[16:17]
Science Center at the Frisco Campus.
[16:20]
In connection with the previous agenda item,
[16:25]
The committee recommends approval of a budget amendment to the architectural design services contract issued to PVK architect's ink and the amount of 997,000, 200 dollars and this comes in a form as form in emotion and a second.
[16:41]
Thank you. Any other questions or comments? Anybody?
[16:44]
Okay, not hearing any else, all those in favor, please signify by saying aye.
[16:51]
Aye.
[16:52]
All those against say nay.
[16:54]
Motion carries.
[16:56]
Next item on the agenda is 2026-09-6.
[17:01]
Report out of the Finance and Audit Committee and consideration of approval of a budget amendment
[17:06]
to the guaranteed maximum price contract issued to McCarthy Building Company's
[17:10]
for the construction of the New Health Science Center
[17:14]
at the Frisco Campus Trustee Weaver.
[17:17]
Thank you.
[17:17]
Again, September 15th, 2026, the Finance and Audit Committee
[17:22]
met.
[17:24]
2026, 096, report out of finance and audit
[17:28]
and consideration of approval of a budget amendment
[17:30]
to the guaranteed max price contract issue
[17:33]
to McCarthy-Building Inc.
[17:35]
for construction of the New Health Science Center
[17:37]
at the Frisco Campus in connection
[17:39]
with the previous agenda item, 2026-094,
[17:42]
the committee recommends approval of a budget amendment
[17:45]
to the guaranteed maximum price to contract.
[17:47]
Issue to McCarthy building companies
[17:49]
ink in an amount, not to exceed $2,250,000
[17:53]
for purchase of long lead equipment.
[17:56]
This comes in the form as a motion in a second.
[17:59]
Do I have any questions?
[18:03]
Not here, any?
[18:04]
Have a motion to say aye.
[18:07]
All right, all right.
[18:08]
Again, say nay. Motion carries.
[18:14]
Next item on agenda is 2026-9-7. Report out of the finance
[18:18]
and audit committee and consideration of approval of the revised audit plan for the fiscal
[18:24]
year of 2026 and the proposed audit plan for the fiscal year of 2027. Trustee Weaver.
[18:31]
In the same meeting on September 15, 2026, the committee recommends approval of the revised
[18:36]
audit plan for the Fiscal Year 2026, Workday Production Environment, Police Department.
[18:41]
The committee also recommends proposed audit plan for the Fiscal Year 2027 Emergency Management,
[18:48]
Workforce Economic Development, Data, Privacy and HIPAA, Precurement, Esthetician Program,
[18:54]
and this comes in the form as a motion and a second.
[18:57]
All right. Any comments or questions?
[19:00]
Yes, Mr. Chairman.
[19:03]
So, President Mackin, is this a reduction of the items on the audit?
[19:08]
That's what I'm understanding from six items to two, because those original two were also
[19:14]
in the original approved agenda right.
[19:16]
Good evening, Chairman Sednor.
[19:18]
So, the board, Dr. Mackin.
[19:19]
Yes, we have some staffing changes in that area.
[19:22]
So, we're going external now for the audit.
[19:24]
Not permanently.
[19:25]
We're actually in the final process of doing some interviews for senior audit positions.
[19:31]
But when we had those positions that were vacated, we were able to pick up that and put
[19:37]
that into their scope so we could finish out those two.
[19:41]
Some of those are on the 2027 plan or almost finish, but we knew we weren't going to be able
[19:46]
to complete that by the end of August and get those presented to the committee in time.
[19:50]
So that's why they're on the revised 2027 plan.
[19:53]
We do anticipate adding a couple more on the 2027 plan, but it's going to be based on when we have internal staffing, and we've given, we've heard a budget to work within, and so they're revising that based on the budget they've been given and looking at staffing hours.
[20:11]
So I anticipate that we will have a revised planning for 2027, but it'll be in the next few months.
[20:16]
And so, we were, is going to do the remainder of the audit as well, or at least,
[20:21]
especially part of it.
[20:22]
And they're going to work in collaboration with our, with the staff member that's coming on board.
[20:27]
Got it.
[20:27]
So, which will, essentially, reduce some of their hours, but they have, they're aware that we're trying to hire someone,
[20:33]
and they have agreed that they will partner with them to get them up to speed, so we can finish those.
[20:38]
Not to mean it about me.
[20:40]
Can you give the board an update on those status or what's the timeline for the interviews?
[20:45]
We've had our last interview this week and I'm working on scheduling the final interview
[20:51]
with leadership and cabinet in the next two weeks for one that we're moving forward with
[20:56]
our recommendation for hire.
[20:58]
There you go.
[21:00]
Thank you.
[21:01]
Thank you.
[21:01]
Did you buy some of your other questions?
[21:03]
You didn't have one?
[21:04]
I didn't hear anybody else?
[21:05]
Okay.
[21:05]
Great.
[21:06]
Not here in Amy.
[21:08]
All those in favor of please signify by saying aye.
[21:11]
All right.
[21:11]
Again, say nay.
[21:13]
Motion carries.
[21:15]
The next one, action items that do not come from a board committee.
[21:19]
The next item on the agenda is 2609-8.
[21:23]
Consideration of approval of the bid report for September 22nd, 2026.
[21:27]
Mr. B.
[21:28]
The next item, for your consideration, one is a new contract.
[21:33]
And one is a proposed contract revision.
[21:37]
The first one is the new contract to purchase promotional products for
[21:43]
sore promo, Bernstein Lash Marketing, Logotology, Urban Circle, Authentic Promotions, Big Hit,
[21:52]
Creative Group, Forimprint, and Zing Commerce.
[21:57]
The contract is provide, I don't know why I can't say promotional, promotional products.
[22:02]
For the district, these will be utilized for campus events and activities, recruitment,
[22:07]
brand awareness and to promote district services. The total authorization requested is
[22:13]
$1 million and the funding source will be in various operating budgets and subsequent
[22:19]
year budgets across the district. The previous contract spend was 857,586 dollars and
[22:27]
if approved the contract term will be November 1.
[22:30]
1, 20, 26, through October 31, 20, 29. The next item is a revision for your consideration. It's an expenditure
[22:39]
for additional funds to purchase temporary personnel services from tents of McKinney. Temporary personnel
[22:47]
are used during peak periods each semester to cover for district staff, district staff, or to
[22:58]
for it during construction and to supplement the district's grounds maintenance
[23:03]
cruiser out the year.
[23:05]
This specific request is to help fill in some gaps for some custodial services at some
[23:12]
of our campuses.
[23:14]
This is the board had a previously approved contract spend of 2.8 million.
[23:20]
The additional authorization requested is for 400,000 and the current contract spend is 2,000,
[23:27]
$6,877, the contract term is October 1, 2024 through September 30th, 2027, and I'll be glad to answer any questions about these two items.
[23:39]
All right.
[23:40]
Does anybody have any questions?
[23:41]
Comments?
[23:45]
Not hearing.
[23:46]
I'll call for a motion to be made.
[23:48]
The motion to approve the Vibre Report is offered.
[23:50]
Second.
[23:51]
All those in 50 say aye.
[23:53]
Aye.
[23:53]
Aye.
[23:53]
All those opposed say nay.
[23:55]
Motion carries.
[23:56]
Thank you.
[23:58]
Information report out, Dr. Mackin.
[24:00]
Trustees, the normal items are present, but there is one additional item that's been published
[24:05]
for you per policy, DGBA local.
[24:08]
At the end of each year, fiscal year, the district president is to provide the Board of
[24:12]
Summary of Report and Decade of the Number and Types of Complaints, received under this
[24:17]
policy.
[24:19]
You'll see a one-page room, page 80 of your packet.
[24:22]
It shows you nine different kinds of complaints that are identified in the chart of the table
[24:26]
the bottom, but you'll see a total of 36 complaints for the year. Monica, I apologize. I
[24:33]
didn't write the percentage. Yeah, what is the percentage of all employees versus
[24:37]
complaints? So 1.7% complaint versus employer ratio. We feel like that's very, very good.
[24:47]
And I'm happy to answer any other questions I can answer about the support or ask
[24:52]
Monica and Oral also literally do so. So questions on this report?
[24:58]
Yeah, but I come back to just an observation when looking at that chart.
[25:02]
Is it typical that we see sort of a clustering of complaints in April and May
[25:09]
consistent with maybe the end of the academic year? I mean, it just seems odd that there's
[25:14]
such a higher number of complaints than those two months compared to the rest of the year.
[25:18]
Mr. Kelsner, he suggested that during high stress semester times there may be more complaints.
[25:23]
Perhaps.
[25:25]
Now, I haven't really looked at the frequency of the timing that I'm saying nodding of heads,
[25:29]
so the answer is yes, it is difficult for that time of year.
[25:36]
Yep, and that's the other thing the new category here that we did fill a lot of the first year of the rank process.
[25:41]
So we had to think 10 complaints regarding rank.
[25:45]
So that's sort of skewed it again for this year.
[25:47]
I think you'll see a different pattern next.
[25:48]
to this fall into the type 9 other category.
[25:53]
Got it.
[25:57]
Got it.
[25:58]
Thank you.
[25:59]
Any other questions?
[26:04]
Now, Dr. Mackin, the president report, please.
[26:06]
Thank you.
[26:07]
We've got a short report for you this evening, but a very positive one.
[26:11]
The technology association for North Texas is also known as the Tech Titans.
[26:15]
There's Tripit in here.
[26:17]
There's Tripit in here.
[26:18]
Tripit, I'm not saying incredibly positive things about you.
[26:21]
So at the right time, we can stand so we can all see you.
[26:25]
There you go.
[26:26]
All right.
[26:27]
The Technology Association of North Texas also knows tech titans.
[26:31]
Recognize the electronic engineering technology program and dean-tripet, voyages, contributions
[26:37]
to the program by warning the tech titans for the future award of the future award
[26:42]
in the College University category.
[26:44]
This award is the largest and most prestigious recognition of technological achievement in
[26:49]
North Texas.
[26:50]
It celebrates individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions and the community and the technology industry.
[26:57]
And, Trippet, you give your all, we're grateful for what you do and you bring home the vacant and we're grateful for that too.
[27:03]
So thank you so much.
[27:10]
We've got other ones.
[27:12]
Rest core care program director, Julie Bowen, right?
[27:16]
Julie, are you here in the same way?
[27:19]
I'll tell you some people are just, they know which means to avoid.
[27:23]
So, respiratory care director Julie Bogun-Ride along with three full-time faculty at the Texas
[27:30]
Society for Restore Care Conference and Irving Texas along with 15 first-year students
[27:35]
and we brought home some cash.
[27:38]
Student Kinnock Brothers, I want to restore care foundation of Texas Grant for $4,000.
[27:43]
Student Trinity Letty, I want to restore care foundation of Texas Grant for $2,000.
[27:48]
And the Concolds Spoonem Bowl team, which included Colin Concolds students, Kenna Carothers,
[27:55]
Britain, Irwin, Paul McMillan, and Abby Smith won the Texas Spoonem Bowl competition
[28:00]
out of 14 total teams.
[28:03]
They would advance to the national competition taking place in New Orleans, this November,
[28:07]
and we've done well in that over many years.
[28:09]
That's kind of an exciting continuation.
[28:12]
Student Kenna Carothers, play second in the Posture presentation competition, and student
[28:17]
But Emma Rinkon placed third, so congratulations to our respiratory care program, and hopefully
[28:24]
we'll win the nationals and bring home that bacon too.
[28:34]
Magnastic Medical Snifery Program, graduate of 14 students and August, and tried as hard as
[28:40]
they could, but they could only achieve 100% pass rate on all the registered exam attempts,
[28:46]
maintaining a 100% pass rate for the program since its inception, so let's give them a big
[28:50]
round of applause.
[28:56]
Finally, I apologize I only have four items and the top 10 this this month, but the
[29:02]
college police department was awarded 26,000 dollar grant from the office of the governor
[29:06]
to purchase body armor, better preparing officers to respond effectively, to emergency situations,
[29:12]
so chief of graduates on that. That's my question.
[29:19]
Let's go to the trustees comments.
[29:21]
Trustee Weaver. Thank you. Well first of all, I sat there and I added up it was 182 years of
[29:29]
service tonight that retired.
[29:31]
Imagine 180 to years.
[29:32]
This is a lot about the college right there
[29:36]
that we have so many dedicated faculty and staff.
[29:41]
It's tremendous.
[29:42]
Congratulations, Streck hat, on your accomplishments as well.
[29:46]
I did have a really good weekend
[29:48]
with some of the many different members
[29:50]
of Colin College that volunteered at the balloon festival.
[29:54]
They were out there getting everybody to scan
[29:57]
and enroll on site right there then.
[30:00]
And let them walk away till they scanned the QR code. It was great and they had a crowd all day long. So, again, another testament to Colin College.
[30:08]
Just as always, very proud to be associated with the colleges. I say all of you make it so easy to talk about the college.
[30:14]
And you just make it a great place and we truly appreciate it. Thank you.
[30:19]
Great. Trustee Alexander.
[30:23]
No matter where you go in and around calling the whole community, I was at a restaurant
[30:32]
and once I had a little colon batch on and they said, oh, what do you do at the college?
[30:37]
And I said, well, not all bunch.
[30:40]
And they said, well, my favorite professors are there and they still have kept up with me.
[30:44]
I'm in a master's program, but I'm waiting, being a white staff to supplement my income.
[30:51]
She said, I've gone, everybody on the white staff to take at least one class at Concoge.
[30:56]
And I think that's what it says about you guys, more than it does about us.
[31:01]
It really does.
[31:02]
And I want to welcome Heart and New member, Diana Kirkandall, to the board.
[31:07]
Thank you.
[31:09]
Trustee Orr.
[31:11]
Welcome, everybody.
[31:11]
Back to another semester.
[31:14]
The numbers, I think, say it all.
[31:16]
We continue to grow.
[31:17]
And that comes because we offer quality education in the places
[31:21]
that it needs to be.
[31:24]
There's a lot of work in terms of the strategy,
[31:27]
development, investment, planning.
[31:30]
All that stuff is very well appreciated.
[31:32]
Two more new student government folks welcome.
[31:35]
I know that you go up here and everybody goes blah, blah, blah, here's engine item, yay, no names, that kind of stuff.
[31:42]
But that's because by the time it gets here, there have been 14 committee meetings, a couple of workshops, a bunch of community discussions,
[31:50]
and all kinds of stuff that goes on. You know, this is where there is sometimes disagreements to just hang out for a little bit, and we'll get you there.
[31:58]
But, you know, a lot of the work goes on with the people in this room to make sure that the information is prepared, is understood.
[32:06]
We give feedback dozens of times before it actually makes it to a vote.
[32:11]
So, this is the final part of the sausage making.
[32:13]
If you got any other parts you want to be involved, then just let us know we can help you understand.
[32:17]
Thank you.
[32:19]
Trustee Hardin.
[32:22]
Stacey, I'm going to give you a compliment.
[32:26]
You have the same character flaw I have, some people might not consider a compliment.
[32:32]
I went through, because when I'm bored, I add up numbers, and so I added up all the
[32:39]
retirements on our report, which was 405 years.
[32:43]
But that included some people from last month, that feels sure.
[32:47]
But yeah, I wouldn't be off that much.
[32:51]
But I could have carried it to wrong, whatever.
[32:55]
But anyway, I was thinking the same thing I'm sure Stacey was.
[32:59]
These people spent a lot of time working at Colin College.
[33:04]
And if somebody had never worked for a company for longer than 20 years,
[33:08]
it is impressive to see people that work.
[33:11]
I want to have them work 40 years here, which is incredibly.
[33:15]
I think that says a lot about the college and it certainly says a lot about them, but it
[33:22]
says a lot about y'all that somebody would want to continue to be around everybody that
[33:27]
works here.
[33:28]
I think everybody here has a candidate and really wants to do a good job.
[33:37]
And so I thought that was an incredible thing to see,
[33:42]
and I would certainly make that a positive decision
[33:47]
other than sitting here and adding up to ditch numbers.
[33:53]
All right, thank you.
[33:53]
Dr. Minnie.
[33:55]
Thank you, Ms. Chairman.
[33:56]
I am going to echo some of those same comments,
[33:59]
but one thing I will say for the students,
[34:02]
pay attention to the AI policy that we drafted today.
[34:07]
a first reading happened today, so if you haven't yet go to the board package online and read
[34:14]
the AI policy and make sure you understand it, and if you have questions, you can bring it up
[34:20]
to what would they bring it up to administration, your professors, but I'm sure show of hands,
[34:25]
everybody that uses Chad GPT, you haven't used Chad GPT, okay? No, I'm not saying I'm not saying
[34:34]
Just outside, just outside, Jim and I, not a trick question.
[34:40]
Yeah, exactly.
[34:41]
But more seriously pay attention to that policy.
[34:44]
I'm really excited and proud that we have a policy in place.
[34:48]
That we're getting a policy in place to work with that.
[34:51]
It's a work in progress.
[34:52]
It's a very rapidly changing field.
[34:54]
I get very excited about it.
[34:56]
Anything to do with AI.
[34:57]
So please pay attention to it and read it.
[34:59]
And thank you all for doing the great job.
[35:01]
Please carry on and rise.
[35:03]
Some of their professors are in the room.
[35:05]
It's kind of a weird question.
[35:07]
I didn't say whether they used Chad GPD in the classroom.
[35:10]
They just used it outside.
[35:11]
That's good.
[35:12]
Trustee Kirkendell.
[35:13]
Really?
[35:14]
And I will agree with you on AI.
[35:16]
I'm so glad that we're embracing it.
[35:18]
We're looking at it.
[35:19]
I think it's an incredibly powerful tool.
[35:23]
But it does have to be used responsibly.
[35:25]
And so I'm excited about that.
[35:27]
I'll also say, you know,
[35:29]
I want to share some acclates as well with the professors that we recognize tonight.
[35:35]
I don't have favorites, but any time I can highlight a government person as always makes
[35:42]
my heart happy.
[35:43]
I had a professor in college that inspired me and that led to a 25-year career in government.
[35:51]
You may not know it or not feel it, but you are touching lives and you are making a generational
[35:57]
impact. And I just can't thank you enough. I know that there's a lot of other
[36:01]
D. And it's out there that are being inspired by the work you're doing
[36:04]
every day. So thank you for the time that you give.
[36:08]
Thank you. Trustee Calesan.
[36:10]
Thank you, Chairman Saad. Also, I want to welcome our newest Trustee Hürkendall.
[36:15]
Thank you for joining us. I wasn't here last month because I was out of the town.
[36:20]
But your addition means that I'm no longer the rookie, so that's the
[36:25]
to be in, but we're thrilled that you're part of this, unlike some of my fellow trustees who
[36:31]
are adding at numbers, I was not doing that because that is not my skill set, but I was impressed
[36:37]
by the number of years and the dedication shown by that group, and it's just reflective of all
[36:43]
of y'all out there, whether faculty, staff, our leadership team, you know, what you do and giving back
[36:51]
to this college is so remarkable.
[36:53]
I was thinking back on our recently completed master plan
[36:57]
in the committee of 100 and all of the exciting things
[37:01]
that are happening here at the college.
[37:04]
And it just is such a remarkable reminder
[37:07]
of the investments that we have been making
[37:11]
and they return on those investments.
[37:13]
We're seeing it makes me incredibly optimistic
[37:14]
for our future.
[37:16]
All right, thank you.
[37:18]
Trustee Adcott, thank you Mr. Chairman.
[37:21]
Trustee Kalis and didn't mention it, but we do have a future cougar. He is the proud
[37:27]
grandparent as of a couple days ago, right?
[37:30]
The last Thursday.
[37:31]
So congratulations.
[37:32]
Thank you.
[37:33]
Thank you.
[37:34]
Thank you.
[37:35]
She's a granddaughter ever, so I know y'all may have granddaughter's
[37:38]
too, but wow.
[37:39]
He's got plenty of pictures to show you.
[37:41]
Thank you.
[37:43]
Trustee Alexander and Chairman said, and I went to the Wightly Campus yesterday for the Lorraine
[37:49]
Chalkley naming ceremony. We got a tour of the facility for the VAT text and it was absolutely
[37:54]
amazing.
[37:54]
One of the things Dr. Fink for that as well as Laura Madden.
[37:59]
Fantastic program. I went online just because I was curious how much it cost to go through that program.
[38:03]
$6,600 out the door, which is absolutely amazing.
[38:08]
So, I'm a fitting one. It's interesting.
[38:09]
We have another naming ceremony on Friday for Dr. Fred, not Dr.
[38:14]
But Fred Moses at our Plano campus, so when I invite everybody to that.
[38:19]
But again, they've spoken a lot of the words I typically would say.
[38:22]
That's why I like going first.
[38:23]
But, but congratulations to all the retirees. Hopefully we'll get some much needed rest and recuperation.
[38:33]
All right. Thank you. To wrap this up pretty quick, the investment. We're talking about the
[38:38]
tech center. We went over there for the veterinary tech and they cost at $6600, you mentioned.
[38:46]
They had a dog there. It was plastic that you could work on. They cost $60,000.
[38:53]
you talk about an investment there's the investment in the future so yes I really do appreciate
[38:59]
was a great visit great to see everybody the balloon festival fabulous great turn out a lot of people
[39:04]
there we get a lot of recognition for that so we should be proud of that and students welcome back
[39:10]
so look forward to it and that's it meetings adjourn
