[0:58] that took place in kankakee and currently illinois

[1:05] i think we take our police officers for granted many of the times and

[1:08] unfortunately the two incidences that were involved is

[1:12] probably every police department deals with these types of calls on a daily

[1:15] basis one was just for a barking dog and the

[1:18] other one was an officer assist on a

[1:22] motorist assist unfortunately

[1:27] police sergeant marlene ritmannick was killed in the line of duty

[1:32] bradley police officer sergeant her partner

[1:37] officer tyler bailey was also shot he is still in critical condition

[1:45] and unfortunately in wayne county deputy sean riley

[1:49] was killed in the line of duty while assisting a motorist

[1:55] so we offer as a city of cresthill our deepest condolences

[1:59] to the family of sergeant marlene rickmannick

[2:04] and deputy sean riley and we also

[2:08] extend our deepest and heartfelt prayers for office bradley officer tyler bailey

[2:16] for his quick recovery

[2:20] to all the police officers throughout our entire country

[2:25] i would ask for your prayers to keep them safe they returned home every night

[2:29] after their tour of duty

[2:32] with that i would ask for a moment of silence in the memory of marlene

[4:27] this is my first meeting at this chair so i just want to start off by saying

[4:31] thank you for the opportunity to serve the city of press hill

[4:34] i look forward to working with you and with staff i've been here for a couple

[4:38] weeks now and have melt several people i'll get around

[4:41] and meet everybody else but uh very great staff and i look forward to

[4:44] working with everybody i also want to make a mention of my

[4:48] appreciate appreciation to steve golden um he's done a great job in the few

[4:53] weeks that i've been here helped out quite a bit and getting me up

[4:57] to speed on a lot of things so thank you steve thank you

[5:01] so before you tonight is a a policy for your consideration a covet policy

[5:07] that memorializes some of the practices that the city has already had in place

[5:11] for its employees the four components of this primarily

[5:16] are quarantining and testing for people that show symptoms of coca-19

[5:23] wearing a mask and the requirements for wearing masks

[5:27] policy for time off if somebody is recovering from covid

[5:31] and providing some time off for somebody that needs to make daycare arrangements

[5:35] the primary difference as indicated in the memo

[5:38] is the amount of time off given to employees if they're recovering

[5:42] apparently the practice has been that employees would get 10 days off while

[5:45] they're recovering from symptoms of covet

[5:50] that's not required by a federal government it was uh previously when the

[5:55] pandemic first hit that expired at the end of

[5:57] uh 2020. so what i'm proposing here is we reduce

[6:02] the number of days that employee gets paid off from ten to three but then we

[6:06] sunset that on uh january 28th so then after january 28th

[6:12] if somebody tests positive they would have to use their sick leave paid sick

[6:16] leave or other paid time uh while they're recovering from

[6:19] so that's really the main difference the other item here is if somebody needs to

[6:23] make their care arrangements because their child's daycare either closes or

[6:27] their their school closes for a period of time

[6:30] they can take a sick day to make alternate day care arrangements

[6:34] so with that i'll answer any questions you have was the sunset supposed to be

[6:37] february 28th february 23 january did i say january i'm sorry

[6:42] by february 28th of 2022 february 28th okay

[6:47] any questions uh in regards to the coveted policy uh yeah

[6:51] mayor i have uh one thought here uh this is you know for anybody whether they had

[6:56] the shot or not they're gonna get that type of pay

[6:59] but you know a lot of times a person gets the shot the day after they're not

[7:03] feeling good i think we should maybe have in their a

[7:07] day pay for those that get the shot and if they're not feeling good the next day

[7:11] they would get paid for that day because they wouldn't went and got the

[7:15] i shot know how the rest of council feels about that but i know a lot of

[7:19] people do feel sick after getting the shot so

[7:22] i would think one day paid just for those that did get the shot

[9:37] new vehicles for the public works department

[9:40] uh in the 2122 budget we had per budget two f-350s

[9:47] with tailgates and lights and everything those

[9:51] vehicles currently are would be a cost of 37 000 a piece with a delivery time

[9:56] unknown um due to current uh

[10:00] you know time delays recently with the city council approving

[10:04] the building maintenance division um we did a re-evaluation of our fleet

[10:10] and it was determined that the building and maintenance division won't need uh

[10:14] such heavy-duty vehicles that we have in stock

[10:17] so our the decision was made to move the two two of the f-150s to the building

[10:23] and maintenance division to pull lawn mowers and small tools uh and then

[10:27] getting administration into more of a suv which is better on fuel mileage and

[10:32] items like that and also the biggest item is they would be a savings of 13

[10:37] 300 these would be purchased off the state

[10:40] bid through the will county governmental league um and so it will be the

[10:45] resolution is waving the bid process of allowing the staff to stay purchasing

[10:49] co-op to acquire a 2022 ford escape and a 2022 ford explorer

[10:55] second

[14:45] we've been doing this for our our new alderman cepedia and jefferson we've

[14:49] been doing this for several years it's a safe night for the graduates of the high

[14:55] school they're all housed inside the building

[14:58] and uh under a lot of parental supervision so uh

[15:02] i would recommend our typical 100 donation to this uh event so move mayor

[15:55] liquor license which was the shell gas station

[16:00] on 20 at 2350 plainfield road they sold their property to another

[16:06] individual and that in the the new owner did not wish to have alcohol at his

[16:12] establishment so the new businesses that were added

[16:15] for liquor licenses in 2022 uh beggar's pizza right on plainfield

[16:20] road which i believe opened up today burger rebellion who was opened last

[16:26] year but just got their

[16:30] state license for 2022. betsy's bistro

[16:35] on uh renwick road um and el chivo down on broadway street

[16:40] where the four new ones that were added for 2022.

[16:44] uh the additional video gaming salons that we have now we have a total of 19

[16:50] compared to 17 last year and the two new establishments that now

[16:54] have the video gaming for 2022 is naturally betsy's bistro

[17:00] and the chicago style grill so we'll have a report put together maribel just

[17:05] came back from vacation today so we'll have a report put together for the work

[17:08] session next monday night for everybody to have
