[8:13] will be on Monday, March 2nd at 6 PM. Um the administrative finance committee of

[8:20] the whole which is um code for budget workshops um which includes the entire

[8:26] city council along with um staff and um other key players. Um we'll start the

[8:33] budget um committee review um starting on Wednesday, February 18th and um it

[8:41] will be followed the following week on Wednesday, February 25th. And then if

[8:47] there's still things to be discussed and reviewed, we will take time during the

[8:52] city council meeting on Monday, March 2nd. And if need be, there will be

[8:58] another on Wednesday, March 4th. is my >> 6:30

[9:06] at 6:30 in the council chambers. Um my goal as it is each year is for us to

[9:13] accomplish um those in two sessions. They will be longer evenings. Um those

[9:19] budget sessions are televised and the public is welcome to come and listen.

[9:24] Um, the goal for staff is for the draft budget to be distributed to the city

[9:31] council and put online on February 11th. My request of all city council members

[9:37] is to please review this budget document um thoroughly, do some prep, ask

[9:43] questions prior to our first workshop, meet with staff to go through things um

[9:49] so that we come to the table on Wednesday, February 18th at 6:30 ready

[9:54] to do work and be productive. Secondly, the citizen of the year. Um,

[10:00] we had the pleasure of announcing our new 2026 citizen of the year, Deborah

[10:05] Uler, at our last meeting and also highlight the tremendous volunteer club

[10:10] and organization honores. Um, all of these individuals will be honored and

[10:15] celebrated on Friday, March 6th, 2026 at Alpine Banquetss starting at 6:00 p.m.

[10:23] for cocktail, 700 p.m. for dinner. Um, I really hope that our elected officials

[10:28] um and our community can come out and enjoy um a great night of um the

[10:34] outstanding individuals in Darian. Um the registration for um this event um

[10:41] tickets need to be purchased. They are $52 a piece. Um, and you can do that at

[10:46] city hall by um calling Diane uh Novarini or you can stop in and pay

[10:52] cash, check or credit card. Um, there is also a dropbox um in the front of city

[10:58] hall that you can drop off your um money. I recommend, you know, dropping

[11:03] off a check, not cash necessarily. um at that time make a note that you're um you

[11:09] know buying tickets but we do ask that all reservations be made um prior to

[11:15] Thursday February 26th and we will be celebrating um the honores um and

[11:21] recognizing them at our next city council meeting on Tuesday February 17th

[11:26] where they will be um a resolution will be declared and um we'll be able to

[11:40] February 23rd at 6:00 pm and also the police pension board uh is supposed to

[21:27] the pot. We're going to have a Chinese raffle. We have about 15 to 20 prizes

[21:32] that will be given out in the raffle. Um we will have um the proceeds from this

[21:38] will go to Cancer Smashers and uh after we cover our costs with 270 people, we

[21:47] will be able to give Cancer Smashers u a nice check that evening. Well, probably

[21:53] that evening. Um, we will have 10 of our Darian uh residents, members of

[21:59] organizations which represent this city, including Alderman Leagansky and his

[22:04] wife Julie, who will represent Our Lady of Mount Carmel, who will be dancing

[22:08] that evening. It'll be run according to a traditional Dancing with the Stars

[22:13] setup. Yours truly will be the MC. We have three judges. Uh, my dance hub in

[22:18] Oakrook has been working to train these people, work with these people. Some of

[22:23] them have gone for some extra lessons and found out they enjoy dancing. Uh,

[22:28] and there's a group of us called the the alumni group that have done this before

[22:33] and we're going to be dancing that night. We have a we have a routine that

[22:37] we'll be doing as the first act. But again, this is for a good cause. Uh,

[22:42] there is a um there will be a piece of paper on the table which will have a

[22:47] picture of each contestant and there'll be a QR code next to that picture. So

[22:52] some you can go on a QR code and they could donate and I believe we're also

[22:56] going to put something out this week for people who want to donate. In terms of a

[22:59] QR code, it's plans to be a fun evening. Uh we were pushing for 300. Uh the

[23:06] highest we've ever had before is 184 people. So 270 people. It makes for a

[23:11] real I'm very pleased. I need to say I'm very pleased that people are choosing to

[23:17] be with us that night and not watching the opening ceremonies from Cortina

[23:22] Malot. Um, tickets are available till midnight

[23:26] tonight. If you haven't bought a ticket, please buy a ticket. You get a beautiful

[23:31] dinner in 4 hours. Open bar. And that's all I have. Mary,

[24:02] in essence it's all going to Cancer Smashers which is such a phenomenal
