[0:00] Monday, and that means it's time for another edition of Monday with the mayor. As always, I'm
[0:04] displaying Mayor Andrew Gatchkowski. Tonight, the city council will be considering a construction
[0:09] contract to help move forward the dyeing restaurant project, right in the historic white bank
[0:15] building downtown. This is a really important step in a project that will breathe new life into one
[0:20] of the city's most recognizable buildings. The finance administration committee and the community
[0:29] business. Turning now to community events, tomorrow, August 4th, is National Night Out, which
[0:36] will bring residents together with our police and fire departments at Forest Elementary
[0:40] in El Gagwin Middle School from 5 to APM. This free, family friendly evening of community
[0:45] connection will include specialty vehicles from our first responders, a police tactical
[0:50] response team to display, canine demonstrations, great food and other family friendly activities.
[0:57] It's a real reminder of the partnerships that keep our neighborhood strong, and I hope to see many of you there.
[1:03] Also ahead, the second public open house for the Oakton Leaf Street corridor where we help Thursday, August 6th, from 630 to 8pm, right here at City Hall in our council chambers.
[1:14] Residents, business owners, and community members are invited to review proposed concepts to share their feedback and to help shape the future of this important corridor.
[1:23] The discussion will focus on future improvements, development,
[1:27] walkability, parking, and local small business support.
[1:31] And your input will help guide the planning process as it continues to move forward.
[1:35] On Saturday, August 15th,
[1:37] residents are welcome to attend another community shred event
[1:40] at our Public Works facility from 8.30 to 11.30am.
[1:44] This is a great and convenient and eco-friendly way
[1:47] for display's residents to safely dispose of sensitive paper documents.
[1:50] Please remember that proof of residency may be required.
[1:54] Business materials are not accepted and there's a two box maximum per vehicle.
[2:00] Finally, the third and final food truck roundup of the season is Tuesday, August 18th,
[2:05] from 5 to 8 p.m. at Library Plaza.
[2:08] It's been a great summer series bringing people together all across the city for food, music, and community.
[2:14] And I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the final one of the season.
[2:18] All of this is what what's happening in display in the days and weeks ahead.
[2:22] I hope to see you at one of these great community events, and as always I'm Mary Andrew
[2:26] Getskowski, and I'm very grateful that you took the time to watch.
