Derrick asked if I could call the
meeting to order and then I'd like to
[0:06]
move item 8A, election of officers to
the top of the agenda if there's no
[0:11]
objection. We should do that first
thing. So,
[0:16]
so I will at this time call for
nomination for chairman or president of
[0:21]
the fair board. Taking nominations from
the floor.
[0:26]
I nominate Derek Wolf for president of
the Dun County Fair Board.
[0:30]
» Derek Wolf has been nominated. Anybody?
Are there any further nominations?
[0:36]
Any further nominations?
Any further nominations?
[0:41]
If not, I'll ask for a motion to close
nominations and cast a unanimous ballot
[0:46]
for Derek Wolf.
>> Make a motion to close the nominations.
[0:48]
» We have a motion by Larry. Is there a
second?
[0:52]
» Second by Troy. All those in favor
signify by saying I.
[0:56]
» Opposed.
You're on, Derek.
[1:00]
» You should just keep taking over. That
was really good.
[1:05]
All right. Now, we're going to go to the
vice president. Um, any nominations for
[1:11]
the vice president?
[1:20]
Scott Byer.
Oh, I don't know why it's doing that.
[1:26]
Scott, do you accept?
Okay. Any other nominations?
[1:32]
Any other nominations?
Nominations.
[1:37]
Okay.
[1:41]
There a second.
Okay. I think
[1:46]
» I'll second.
>> Okay. Scott, you're the
[1:49]
» Have to vote.
>> Oh, sorry. vote. Sec. I got a All in
[1:54]
favor say I. Post. Okay, Scott. I jumped
the gun.
[2:00]
» All right. Thank you.
>> All right. And let's see here. We got to
[2:05]
go to um secretary.
>> I'll nominate Austin Witz.
[2:13]
Okay. Um any other nominations?
[2:17]
Any other nominations?
[2:21]
their nominations.
Austin, you accept? Yeah,
[2:27]
» I already forgot what I'm supposed to
say after that. So,
[2:31]
I'll make a motion to close nomination
cast for Austin for secretary.
[2:39]
» Second it.
>> Okay. All in favor?
[2:43]
» Post. Okay. Austin Wit, your secretary.
Congratulations.
[2:49]
All right. All right. Then um now we
have to uh do uh our 20 26
[2:57]
um
um chairs are up. So uh with that being
[3:02]
said, um we have Jeff Eert um and Nick
Shepard's terms ending. So um we're
[3:09]
going to start with uh Jeff. I'm um not
sure how this works just cuz we're Do we
[3:15]
have to do it the same way being that
it's a term thing, Dave? Or do you know?
[3:19]
» Um I think that I think our board
nominates them and then they're approved
[3:24]
by the county. Does that
>> Yeah, that's how it works. Anybody that
[3:28]
wants to nominate um Jeff Eert.
>> I'll nominate Jeff.
[3:35]
» Jeff, you accept?
Um, I suppose I better ask if there's
[3:39]
any other nominations, but there
shouldn't be being that we're reelecting
[3:42]
them.
[3:46]
Okay, that clo is closed. Jeff Eert, you
accept.
[3:52]
Okay. Um, all in favor Jeff coming to
the board say I.
[3:57]
» I.
>> Opposed. Okay. Jeff passes. Okay.
[4:02]
Nick um he wanted to let me know that uh
he um is up tonight, but he wanted to
[4:09]
talk for a little bit just to let you
guys know that he uh um depending on
[4:14]
what happens here, he wants to be
committed to this committee after the
[4:17]
football and wrestling season. and he
was happy to be on um the music
[4:23]
committee that we had with the sending
out the emails uh and stuff like that
[4:28]
and and being a part of the fair. Um
with that being said, he said whatever
[4:34]
happens happens. So I'll bring him up
for election and we'll go from there. So
[4:39]
um so I guess um anybody want to
nominate Nick or somebody else?
[4:47]
» I'll nominate Nick Shepard.
[4:51]
Um is there any other nominations?
Any other
[5:00]
there are nominations?
Okay.
[5:02]
» I move to close nominations, cast
unanimous ballot for Nick Shepard.
[5:07]
» Thank you. Second. Okay. All in favor
say I. Oppose. Okay. Nick is on for
[5:14]
another two years along with Jeff Eert.
Okay. And
[5:20]
» to the county board for approval.
>> For approval. Yep.
[5:24]
» Okay. Um Okay. Now we can go to We got
call the roll. Um Austin's taking care
[5:31]
of that now. Uh approval of the previous
meeting minutes. Going to get approval
[5:37]
for that.
[5:41]
Thank you. Is there a second?
>> Second.
[5:43]
» Ben second. Uh,
all in favor say I.
[5:49]
» Oppos. Okay.
Okay. Is there any public comment?
[5:58]
» Nothing.
>> Nothing. No public comment tonight. Uh,
[6:02]
public hearings.
None. Okay. We're going to go to the
[6:07]
staff reports and fair updates. Um,
Michael, um, just how how we coming on
[6:14]
the, uh, Facebook and is there anything
that we should be adding to that in the
[6:19]
upcoming months, keep people interested?
>> I don't really have anything to report
[6:23]
for the Facebook page. Um, obviously
with the fair being done, kind of the um
[6:30]
the amount of people that interact with
her page obviously decreases, but I
[6:35]
think just sharing information about
next year's event and even just kind of
[6:40]
a lot of people like throwback pictures.
So, just stuff to keep people engaged
[6:44]
with our page, but that's kind of an
ongoing
[6:48]
uh thing to do.
>> Okay. So, if Larry had sent it, it's one
[6:51]
of his 1960
throwback showing cattle, that might be
[6:56]
something that you would throw on there.
>> So, Larry, if you wouldn't mind uh
[7:00]
sending us a picture of that, that would
be great.
[7:05]
Okay. You send them to one of our emails
here. Okay. All right. Um,
[7:10]
» one of these days, uh, if we could get
the tractor show winners up there, too,
[7:15]
with a little blurb on them. Jeff's got
the pictures. he sent them to to me as
[7:20]
well. Uh but uh that was a great turnout
and I I think the group loved it. But
[7:25]
that's one thing we never ended up
posting just with everything else we all
[7:29]
had going on. So one of the throwbacks
we could do with that too.
[7:33]
» Any other suggestions
or what um Facebook?
[7:40]
Um I guess uh
Michael continuing recapping the year,
[7:46]
you know, the stuff that happened and
because we had I think we had a great
[7:50]
fair and so just to keep reminding
people.
[7:56]
Anything else? Anybody else like to add?
Okay, we'll move on to uh facilities and
[8:03]
parks, Austin and Brady.
Um
[8:10]
it's I it's been such a whirlwind. I
don't remember what all we touched on or
[8:14]
didn't touch on on the facility side,
but uh last meeting, but
[8:21]
um we had no power issues.
I don't think there's a ton of wrap-up
[8:27]
items on the facility side. The biggest
thing is I think we were all so burnt
[8:31]
out from the fair that after Sunday
uh it we
[8:38]
there was nobody there including myself
um that kind of the the next week
[8:46]
uh we didn't have really a good plan of
who was doing what uh etc. kind of like
[8:52]
we did for setup.
So, um I think that's something that we
[8:58]
can work on either, you know, delegating
uh or coming up with a better plan
[9:04]
versus um this last year on just putting
away stuff, etc. But, um I think all in
[9:12]
all it went pretty well.
Uh one thing we didn't touch on was
[9:16]
custodial. I think that turned out
pretty well for even just having Mike
[9:20]
there the days he was there. Um, we
definitely maxed out that 7,000
[9:25]
allocation.
Um, but I don't think it was terribly
[9:30]
more than that that we ate on the
facility side, but I think it turned out
[9:37]
really well.
>> How was the custo? I mean, and I knew
[9:41]
that was kind of a talking point and
what did what was Mike seeing in there?
[9:46]
something that we need to have for
obviously for next year. But was there
[9:50]
any main problems with that or how did
he say it was how it went?
[9:54]
» No, from everything I've heard
everything went really well and
[9:59]
I think having all those outdoor
port johns helped and he said it really
[10:06]
wasn't that dirty in those uh restrooms.
So
[10:10]
» yeah. Yep. radio sessions. Pretty
nervous ahead of time based on how much
[10:15]
manpower we had there last year with
that other company and stuff, but
[10:20]
» turned out very well.
>> What did the county employees think
[10:25]
about having like the picnic or their
daily thing there? I was curious on
[10:29]
that.
>> We did touch on that too. Um,
[10:33]
extremely well. Uh, there's a countywide
email that came out. Every Friday we get
[10:37]
a county email update and um there were
five
[10:45]
there's close to uh 254 employees and
around 600 total guests from the county
[10:51]
side with family members and stuff. So
that was huge. there was about
[10:58]
uh a $2,000 check going to the 4 stand
and then the remaining 2500 or so is
[11:05]
coming to the gate to total that 4500.
Um
[11:11]
uh so I don't think it could have went
better and I don't think you could ever
[11:16]
give a county employee picnic
entertainment or anything for what we
[11:20]
did for that fair. So I think it'll just
grow and continue from there. I I think
[11:26]
in future years we don't do just a one
voucher employee and then the rest of
[11:31]
the group gets in. I think they should
RSCP with how many people are coming and
[11:35]
then as department heads done county
gives out individual tickets. That way
[11:40]
it's just done. It's not a I vouch for
these people that are in my car kind of
[11:45]
thing. They'll be a lot easier to track
to in the future.
[11:51]
Is that good? Yeah. I no complaints
there just on how we tracked it. I think
[11:57]
I could have a few.
>> Yeah, I think it'd be awesome if the
[12:01]
county would want to do that every year.
It's kind of brings everything full
[12:05]
circle.
>> Dave, just to add to that, Austin, the
[12:10]
email that went out to the county was an
employee had wrote in a letter to Dan
[12:16]
and he shared it with everybody. He said
this employee put it better than he
[12:20]
could and talked about what an
incredible experience it was and was the
[12:24]
best gift that he had ever gotten or the
family had ever gotten um from the
[12:29]
county in 15 or 20 years whatever that
they'd worked for the county and how
[12:33]
much they appreciated that and so it was
uh very wellreceived it seemed like. So,
[12:38]
» and in that email, it it uh said uh
props to Derek and the fair board for
[12:45]
the hard work and there was more people
there on Thursday night, he said, than
[12:50]
past years in total, he thought. So, bit
of an exaggeration, but still it just
[12:56]
shows that
um it was a nice uh write up.
[13:03]
» Anybody else got anything for Austin? Uh
Brady, sorry.
[13:07]
» Just just an update on the fan. Um,
right now I'm kind of waiting to
[13:16]
We had someone come in and look at it
and and they were in contact with the
[13:21]
gas fans and they did say that
apparently there was
[13:27]
from a horrible inspection from what I
thought. Um, they were saying that the
[13:32]
motor was damaged and they wanted like
almost $9,000 to fix it. I don't believe
[13:39]
that's a situation. They're sending out
a new fan blade right now so that we can
[13:44]
put it in. They told me what to look for
once we install it and we'll just kind
[13:49]
of make a determination
once that uh fan blade comes in and we
[13:54]
fix it. So,
>> okay, Lar Larry, did you have something
[13:57]
to add to that?
>> Well, something for Austin that we
[14:01]
discussed at the uh fair board meeting
as far as county employees and
[14:05]
everything. Uh, Dun County did gain an
employee because of the fair this year.
[14:11]
And Jim Peterson, the judge, is my
brother-in-law and he was out to the
[14:14]
farm and and uh they've been searching
for an assistant district attorney
[14:20]
and have not been able to fill the
position.
[14:24]
Well, the physician has been filled with
a young woman that came to the fair and
[14:30]
she had been looking at Oaklair County
and she looked at Chip Oak or Dun County
[14:35]
and the experience that she, this is
from the judge, the experience that she
[14:40]
had at the Dun County Fair. She made
application and was hired uh assisting
[14:46]
district attorney. So, it's like, you
know, you couldn't make that story up,
[14:52]
» you know. So,
>> she puts that under
[14:55]
» it's it's really
[14:59]
» um
Thank you for sharing that. Ray, go back
[15:04]
on to that. You were saying about the
fan that the motor might be damaged, but
[15:08]
they have to do more inspection. That's
what I'm understanding out of that.
[15:11]
» Well, he basically said that he suspects
from the pictures. They only took like
[15:16]
six pictures and sent them to big ass
fans.
[15:18]
» Mhm. Based on the pictures that they
got, they said it looks like it's bent.
[15:24]
It, to my knowledge, it doesn't look
bent, but once we install the the new
[15:30]
fan blade, we'll know for sure if it's
bent or not, and then uh kind of make a
[15:34]
determination from there. Uh I didn't
see the need to
[15:40]
do a $9,000 motor replacement if it's
not damaged. And everything that I'm
[15:48]
seeing, it doesn't look damaged to me,
but I
[15:53]
» So, so they're allowing us to put on the
blade and then inspect it after that. Is
[16:00]
» correct. Okay.
>> Yes.
[16:02]
» Dave, did you
>> I just had a question for Austin. With
[16:05]
all the work that was done on the
electrical,
[16:07]
are are we pretty much set for next year
then with the Yeah. With that system?
[16:12]
» Yep.
Um,
[16:16]
I
all the extra cords are made. Nothing
[16:22]
nothing that I could think of.
Zero issues.
[16:26]
Everything's Every pedestal's replaced.
Only thing that I'd like to do is pop
[16:33]
that
baby pavilion.
[16:37]
» Oh, yeah.
>> And put it directly in line. So, it's a
[16:39]
front of house booth that's permanent.
that faces the stage and um could still
[16:44]
be used for everything else just is in a
more
[16:47]
desired spot.
Um
[16:51]
that answers your question. Yep. Um
>> are you guys still looking at maybe
[16:56]
running a water line under the ground
though? That's one. Okay.
[16:59]
» Yep. That's something that'll we'll work
on next spring is just burying it, you
[17:06]
know, six, eight inches below ground and
we'll blow it out every year.
[17:11]
back to his
comments on the fan motor and stuff.
[17:17]
We're doing this to be proactive to help
GFL out cuz they're the ones that hit
[17:22]
this.
>> Yeah,
[17:23]
» we're being proactive about it. But the
further we get away from like with our
[17:28]
fixes and stuff, the more afraid I get
of
[17:32]
of them fully replacing it if later down
the line it does need a full motor. And
[17:38]
then when we fix this stuff ourselves,
then it voids the warranty.
[17:45]
» But
we're So just a heads up, trying to be
[17:49]
proactive about this to help a vendor
out. But
[17:54]
the only thing that scares me is
further away we get from just them
[17:59]
filing a insurance claim and fixing it
outright is scary a little bit with how
[18:05]
those cost.
Troy
[18:09]
» Brady on the water line going out. Do
you know is that going to be like a one
[18:12]
inch line and how far?
>> I don't remember if it's 3/4 or one
[18:18]
inch, but we'll keep the same size line
that we've got now. And then we just we
[18:23]
we might make a T going off towards uh
the back side of the um back side of
[18:32]
building. Is that something that the
like the fair board pays for or how
[18:36]
» how is that
>> is that part of the county
[18:39]
» or is that county?
>> I would assume
[18:44]
that the county would probably just do
it. I don't think it'll take us that
[18:48]
long to bury it and it's that much less
that we'd have to do for setup and tear
[18:53]
down every year
>> other than just blowing it out and
[18:56]
that's not a huge deal for that. Let me
know if the if it's not a county deal on
[19:02]
the tubing.
>> Yep. Oh,
[19:06]
» hey. Anything else? Brady or Austin want
to touch? Um,
[19:11]
» wouldn't really know the best spot on
this, but uh we um I emailed Country Jam
[19:19]
on potential acts that are touring that
weekend before and uh we have a meeting
[19:25]
set up with them in the in the coming
weeks to see what's what's able to be
[19:30]
done or or bring in someone that's
already in the area.
[19:34]
» That's a good idea. uh because you can
get considerably cheaper if they're
[19:39]
performing on a Saturday night and they
come half hour away on Wednesday or
[19:43]
Thursday. So, more to come on that.
[19:49]
Um okay,
anything else? Any questions? Okay,
[19:55]
thank you. Um, uh, Zach Ramirez is not
with us tonight, but, uh, he asked me to
[20:03]
share there's, uh, Compier Financial,
um, grant that opens for, uh, county
[20:10]
fairground improvement grant provides up
to $7,500
[20:15]
that helps, uh, renovate and update or
improve our agricultural buildings, our
[20:20]
facilities fund. Um and also support of
new construction if if that's something
[20:27]
that we want to um
go uh do. Um they are
[20:35]
October. So September 1st and then it
closes I don't know why this is there it
[20:40]
is. That's the other one. September 1st
through October 15th and then next one
[20:45]
is December 15th through the February
15th. Anybody like to comment on that,
[20:52]
Troy? Uh, sorry, Ben.
>> I think it'd be an awesome if if he can
[20:57]
send an application in or we got to send
one in.
[20:59]
» Uh, we we'll have to probably do it by
the looks of it.
[21:02]
» I think it'd be a great idea if we could
send an application in.
[21:06]
» Dave,
>> I agree. I think
[21:09]
100%.
>> And if it's something that whoever on
[21:12]
the fair board, I know Josh Kudson is
doing it for MAP. So like whoever if
[21:19]
need any insight or on filling it out or
maybe I could talk to Josh too.
[21:24]
» Otherwise I can also talk to my wife.
She works with copier too. So
[21:27]
» I'll write one up and we'll send it to
her. How's that? So
[21:29]
» that works.
>> And then we'll have her proof read it if
[21:32]
that's all right with you guys. You want
me to share it with the committee or
[21:40]
» Okay. All right. So that's what Zach
Ramirez has done and uh so that that is
[21:46]
uh on head.
>> I do have one more thing for Zach
[21:49]
department.
>> Y
[21:50]
» and I just wanted to mention it while we
were on live here that the junior uh
[21:56]
dairy judging team won state.
>> Uh
[22:00]
first time ever, right, Ben? Ben's one
of the coach.
[22:03]
» First time ever in Dun County judging
history, the junior team won state. Our
[22:08]
seniors team has won, but never the
juniors. So, our juniors won.
[22:12]
» So, nice job, Ben. Ben Powers, Jim
Powers, and my son Ben Styer were the
[22:16]
coaches this year. So, they did a
amazing job with the kids. So,
[22:20]
» very awesome.
[22:24]
Any other comments for Zack Ramirez?
Okay. Um, Troy, you got any map items
[22:31]
for this? Uh, just map wise, I know I
missed last month, but this year the
[22:35]
sale was a record sale. uh highest sell
or highest dollar amount ever. Uh we had
[22:42]
a MAP meeting here probably two three
weeks ago and we talked about uh using
[22:48]
some of the money. We're going to try to
get some grant money also to buy more
[22:51]
pens so we don't have to go to northern
Wisconsin
[22:54]
uh to borrow their pens. So that's kind
of the conversation that we had on our
[23:01]
end.
I had a call today, a complaint, and
[23:06]
someone, they weren't really
complaining, but they were asking, "Why
[23:09]
does it take so long to get the fair
checks, the um animal checks?" And I
[23:14]
didn't really have a good answer. So, I
just wanted I told him I had this
[23:18]
meeting today and I get back to him as
to why it takes as long as it does.
[23:22]
» We send out all the checks as soon as we
receive enough money to send out to the
[23:26]
kids.
>> You're talking?
[23:28]
» Yeah. Map.
>> Yeah.
[23:30]
» Yep. So basically after we get not
everybody has to pay but as soon as we
[23:35]
get the dollar amount in that we can
send the money out to the kids. So
[23:40]
that's basically why it takes
>> covers the check.
[23:43]
» Yeah. That cover the checks for the
kids.
[23:45]
» I wasn't quite sure.
>> Yep. That's that's the only reason
[23:53]
» Go ahead. with
with that MA money from previous years
[23:58]
and that account that got transferred
over etc. Have you
[24:02]
» received that?
>> I from D County.
[24:06]
» I think so. I'd have to ask Paul. I
think there was like 7,000 of that
[24:11]
number
>> something like that.
[24:12]
» I'm not 100% but I want to say it was
around 7,000. And then with what the 1%
[24:18]
we made with the fair, you know, we get
to keep it now, but that all goes for,
[24:23]
you know, upgrades and stuff like that.
So, we we're getting quotes on the new
[24:28]
pens. And then they still wanted a
little bit better ventilation in the
[24:32]
sheet barn, but I told them that the
biggest problem is the electrical in
[24:36]
there to handle too many more fans, you
know. So,
[24:42]
and I asked them, I go, "Were the fans
this year not good enough?" and they
[24:45]
said, "No, it was great, but it wasn't
hot." So, it's kind I I go, "Well, it's
[24:49]
not I don't know. I wasn't over there a
whole lot, but I'm like, we got an
[24:53]
electrical issue, right?" You know, if
we put too many more fans in big fans.
[24:58]
» Also, that exhaust fan wasn't turned
down until Saturday afternoon by me. So,
[25:03]
» that probably really kicked it in high
gear. Yeah. But
[25:07]
» no, they they were appreciative of the
fans that were put in there this year,
[25:12]
you know, but I think they're still just
worried on what it'd be like really hot.
[25:17]
But I think our main thing is is more
pens for sheep, goats, and pigs.
[25:26]
» Any other thing? Oh, okay.
>> I just want to commend the map committee
[25:30]
and the entire auction at the fair. I
don't know if people realize how good of
[25:36]
an auction Dun County has. We I traveled
to several different fairs this year and
[25:41]
auctions and that and and I've told the
league guys as well. I made it very
[25:45]
clear to them how good a job they do
running the auction. But this is hands
[25:49]
down the best auction around just the
way they handle it with the biders, the
[25:53]
the name cards and um everything that
they do. It's very wellrun. Recognizing
[25:59]
the seniors, you don't see that at a lot
of them. The sale of champions, those
[26:03]
kind of things. A lot of people don't.
The auctions don't do that. So, um, just
[26:08]
commend the map committee and what you
guys have done. So, keep it up.
[26:12]
Thanks. Anybody else got anything for
Troy? No. Thanks, Troy. All right. Uh,
[26:19]
we're going to um go items placed on the
request of the chair. Uh there is an
[26:25]
item that is placed. Um and I'm gonna
I'm gonna turn it over to Larry if Larry
[26:30]
don't mind. Or you want I'd rather you
talk about it, but if you want me to, I
[26:34]
can.
>> Oh, I can talk about it.
[26:35]
» Okay. Okay.
[26:39]
» I can talk.
>> Thank God.
[26:42]
» Well,
and then thank you for your
[26:45]
consideration.
[26:49]
Um,
in the run-up to the fair, we were all
[26:52]
really excited about uh uh the mural
that was done on the north building. And
[27:00]
uh at the time they had not put the uh
where the small animals and sheep or
[27:06]
said small animals I think up there. You
know, there was a cover that went on
[27:10]
that and the other part was was pretty
bad shape. So, I took it upon myself to
[27:16]
find out uh
if we could get uh two signs made for
[27:22]
the front. One that says sheep and
goats, sorry, sheep and goats, and one
[27:27]
that says small animals. And uh the guy
assured me that he could, but being the
[27:33]
excitement of the fair and being uh
Larry Bork, I says, "Let's just get her
[27:37]
done." And uh I told him, "If I have if
we have to, I'll pay for it." And uh so
[27:45]
I was expecting it to cost a,000 or
$500, but the bill came in at $1,000
[27:52]
plus uh uh sales tax of u
$55.
[27:59]
So I had written out a check.
I thought, geez, you know, maybe there's
[28:05]
a way uh fair could fair board could be
part of this and I could uh you know, uh
[28:14]
pay half of it or uh if the fair board
paid the whole thing and I could make a
[28:20]
contribution to the fair. Uh I can go
either way with it. You know, it ain't
[28:24]
the $1,000 grows on trees, but if I do
shake the old pants hard enough, enough
[28:31]
will fall out. So I got a bill uh for,55
for 3x8 33 mm sign panel with painted
[28:42]
background and threecolor hand painted
design to match mural lettering and
[28:47]
colors uh small animals and she goats
includes hardware to mount and he was
[28:53]
really slow in getting it back to us.
So, we never really had a chance to get
[28:57]
it up there because if you take off
those other signs, you got different
[29:00]
colored wall. So, they're someplace over
there. And uh uh if the fair board would
[29:07]
want to pay for half of them, that'd be
great. Or if they don't want to pay for
[29:11]
anything, that's fine, too. But uh and
then I could or if they paid the whole
[29:17]
thing, then I could I'd contribute $500
to the fair.
[29:22]
So, is that about the way to describe
it? That's perfect, Larry. I like it.
[29:26]
Um,
>> I got It have been easier, but the pants
[29:29]
got holes in their pockets and walk
around the farm. Where'd that come from?
[29:34]
You know,
>> and you're pulling out wads of 100. I
[29:36]
get it. So, um, two by you're asking for
just so we're understanding what you're
[29:44]
asking for is that we pay for half of
it,
[29:47]
» right? and I and I I'll have to pay the
other half or if you pay the whole
[29:51]
thing,
>> then I'll pay $500 to the uh fair board.
[29:57]
» Okay.
>> And then what
[29:59]
» we uh that's
>> if I can interject
[30:02]
» if if if Wade can reinvoice that to the
county.
[30:06]
» Yeah.
>> We can send in our S211
[30:10]
sales tax exemption.
>> Okay. Well, I think that's what we
[30:12]
should if that's what you'd like to do.
$55 is
[30:16]
» Yep. Yeah. So, uh, we have to get a
what? Uh, disc, um,
[30:24]
» motion. Sorry, I was trying to think
what I wanted to say. Then we can have
[30:27]
discuss.
>> I'd like to make a motion to have it
[30:30]
rebuild under the fair or under the D
county fair board for so it can be taxes
[30:36]
on for the full amount of the signs.
>> Right.
[30:39]
» Is there a second?
>> Second.
[30:41]
» Okay. Discussion about it. Austin,
just what you're saying is about that.
[30:47]
Anybody else? Dave,
>> those are the signs they got done for
[30:51]
the fair. They were just hung up on the
front of the Those are the signs we're
[30:55]
talking about. Same colors as
>> as the mural on the side.
[30:59]
» We just didn't have time.
>> They're aluminum.
[31:03]
» Mhm.
>> Yeah. So, they got there, but they
[31:05]
didn't get put up. And it would it did
the right thing by
[31:10]
» Dave. So you're you're going to
reinvoice it. So then is that then the
[31:15]
fair board's going to pay for it? Is
that what you're the intent is?
[31:18]
» Okay.
>> I'll pay the fair board
[31:21]
» contribution for next year's.
>> So that but that's the motion. So you're
[31:27]
the motion is is that you're we're going
to reinvoice it for,58.
[31:32]
You're going to pay the $500.
That's the motion that's out there in
[31:36]
the discussion.
>> Re rebuild for a,000 because it was
[31:40]
So it be rebuilt.
>> I'll make it. That's That's the motion I
[31:45]
made. Sorry. I'm just trying to make
sure we all understood it. Okay.
[31:51]
» Everybody got that?
Discussion?
[31:56]
Any more conversation?
Motion's out there. Um so all in favor I
[32:04]
» I
>> oppose.
[32:06]
Okay, Larry, that passed.
Thank you.
[32:12]
Okay. Um All right. We're going to move
into 8B,
[32:16]
uh the food vendor contracts. Um so I
had went over them. Um we're going to
[32:24]
get it up pulled up here and hopefully
be able to show you the changes. And um
[32:30]
again, these are numbers that are put in
there. I'm not saying it has to be. I'm
[32:35]
I maybe shouldn't even put a number in,
but these are the
[32:40]
We're getting there.
>> Okay, so as you can see, the food vendor
[32:48]
space fee is now $600,
right? Put your mouse there. On a
[32:54]
regular payment due by July 10th, it
after that, it was $650.
[33:01]
Um, and that's that's the new writing
that we want to apply is the
[33:06]
applications are due by 4 pm the first
Monday in April. So, by doing that, it
[33:11]
allows us to have that before our
meeting. The fair board will review the
[33:15]
applications at the meeting and announce
selections by the by the Friday
[33:20]
following. Payments are due by the first
Monday in May. again on a fair board
[33:24]
night.
Um the fair board reserves the right to
[33:29]
assign all vendors booth locations while
we consider past play placements
[33:35]
and special request. Final spot assign
assignments are at the board's sole
[33:40]
discretion and are non-negotiable. So
those who are already in we we added
[33:47]
that top piece. Okay. So the fee the fee
includes your spot electricity and two
[33:54]
weekly admission passes. So um each
additional pass may be purchased for
[34:00]
$20. Now
again that it should be 15 for right
[34:06]
now. Sorry about that. So 15 um and then
as you see we got uh the full payment
[34:13]
online
that that kind of stuff
[34:18]
» is the down payment.
uh the down and this is why I brought it
[34:22]
up for us to discuss. But these are the
changes that are made uh that we uh off
[34:28]
of uh um um what am I trying to say off
of our previous um vendors that they
[34:34]
wanted. We we applied that to what they
wanted and this is what we we came up
[34:39]
with. Now the only thing that is changed
really well there's a lot of things
[34:43]
changed but the biggest thing that are
changed is the date and the amount.
[34:48]
Otherwise, the rest of it was just
getting, how do you say, uh, more
[34:53]
technical, uh, the right words. Um, and
so that's what we did. So, um, so I
[35:01]
guess we need to kind of talk about it
uh, with a $1,000 and uh, if the times
[35:07]
» can we make it so that it's, you know,
payments are due on the first Monday in
[35:11]
May. So that's would be the on our
fairboard date that that they're made by
[35:16]
4:00,
>> right? So that there's a cut. So that
[35:18]
way we would know on that fairboard
meeting who's paid
[35:28]
» for by the first Monday.
[35:33]
Okay. Um
[35:37]
so okay,
thanks. Yeah, good good good catch.
[35:42]
Troy,
>> how much is like the Are you asking for
[35:45]
the full thousand by then?
>> Down bank,
[35:48]
» right? No, the uh right now we have the
full thousand because that's what was
[35:52]
placed when they sent in I forget who
was but they sent when they sent in what
[35:57]
they wanted they said that we need the
money. This is how normal fairs operate.
[36:02]
You get the money and then you move on
that way if they don't come. So, I know
[36:07]
the biggest thing that they the couple
of them that I know that they talk about
[36:12]
is like early in the spring like that
and just to know where they sit is that
[36:17]
most of them are like 20 to $30,000 in
the hole by paying all the, you know,
[36:22]
paying all this ahead and have no
income, you know, cuz nothing started.
[36:26]
So, like by asking it a little, you
know, earlier, which it's better for us,
[36:31]
right? But I just make sure that we're
think you know some I'm not saying it's
[36:36]
wrong but just make sure that we're
thinking we're asking them to put money
[36:40]
out what at least a month or two earlier
>> than normal but it is what it is. But I
[36:47]
guess I just wanted to know that like I
never knew that they have that much
[36:50]
money tied up in their events you know
for the year to
[36:55]
» do. So it go I guess go ahead. My
thought it my thought process is the
[37:00]
money doesn't affect us but the signed
contract cut off affects us.
[37:07]
You know what I mean? Having knowing
whether it be a down payment or
[37:11]
something
by April etc. But the signed contract is
[37:16]
what
or something legal legally binding that
[37:21]
just knows that they're a part of it.
But long as our thing is within that
[37:26]
year, we're sitting fine versus
a private organization, I guess you
[37:32]
could say. But
um and the other half of this is putting
[37:38]
in this uh application that says
there'll be a maximum
[37:43]
of nine food vendors or 10 food vendors.
So they have a little bit of peace of
[37:47]
mind there to see that there's value in
that extra cost upfront, but knowing
[37:53]
that there'll be less food vendors than
this year regardless with most of them
[37:57]
selling out, etc. It's just one more
thing to show that uh okay, we're up on
[38:03]
the ante here, but also you're going to
have more traffic.
[38:08]
And I guess my thoughts would just be if
we can I think you got to get some money
[38:12]
from them, you know, like even if it was
half down, you know, when they had their
[38:18]
written contract by this time and then
paid the rest by
[38:22]
» I would agree that it keeps them from
backing out.
[38:26]
» We we were going off of the request of
some of these food vendors. Myself, Kim,
[38:34]
uh uh uh Hamarge had seen that. These
are the requests that they brought to
[38:39]
us. That's why they're up in here.
That's why I was trying to explain
[38:42]
earlier. I'm not the one that just made
this up. This is what they're telling us
[38:46]
is normal for other places to go. I'm
not saying it's wrong or right. You guys
[38:50]
make that decision.
>> Personally, I like the idea of saying,
[38:54]
"Okay, it's all paid in full upfront."
That way, if they, you know, if they pay
[38:58]
half, well, if they don't show up, we
only get half the money. That way, and
[39:01]
we've already reserved their spot. That
way if they pay and they don't show up,
[39:05]
we still get the same amount of money
and we're not scrambling to find
[39:09]
somebody. I'm assuming if you go to
Country Jam, Country Fest, any of the
[39:13]
big you're paying up front. Um, you
know, even like
[39:18]
most places you pay before you leave
that year, you left this year, they've
[39:24]
already paid for their,
>> right? You know, even like just, you
[39:28]
know, like at the farmers market,
something a little different, but they
[39:32]
pay in January for the summer. Like you
always pay ahead for your spots. And
[39:37]
it's just And it's another little thing
is I know we have the county and we
[39:42]
they're paying our bills, but it also
allows us to bring in money in May, so
[39:46]
we can kind of work towards having our
own bucket of money that we're working
[39:52]
off of. So it's not the county's bucket
of money that we're working off of. you
[39:56]
know, just in case something does happen
in the future, we set these precedents
[40:00]
now that we're trying to work on our own
a little bit more for them.
[40:06]
» Dave, did you have something to add?
>> Just to go off what Austin said about
[40:09]
the signed contracts. So, is their
application their signed contract or
[40:13]
once they're accepted by the fair board,
do they have a signed contract? How is
[40:18]
that handled?
[40:22]
This would just be it as of now, but we
could easily make something up to go
[40:26]
with this. It's a lot. Okay, let's
continue on that. They were submitting
[40:32]
this to us, but then it was going to the
fair board to accept it. Some of these
[40:37]
were filled out. Some of these were
filled out with a check mailed in with
[40:40]
them. I think that process could be
short up a little bit, too. But I think
[40:46]
if they're accepted, a more beefy
contract could easily go go with this
[40:51]
that Jim or or council can make up
pretty quickly.
[40:57]
Or if you had a signed contract from
them, you know, with their application
[41:01]
fee and they were accepted by the fair
board, you could just have in there that
[41:05]
that constitute a valid contract and
you're done, you know, that way. So you
[41:09]
got it locked in.
[41:14]
These are all still pennies on the
dollar versus some of these festivals.
[41:18]
So, if they ask for this upfront, it's
still I think the cost 15 years ago to
[41:23]
be a vendor at Country Fest for food was
$4,500.
[41:26]
Obviously, it's a little bit different
for traffic and stuff like that, but
[41:30]
still.
>> And like I said, that price is just I
[41:34]
should have just put a zero, but that's
I
[41:38]
» I agree with the price.
>> Are we voting on the price, too? Uh,
[41:41]
it's underneath an action item. So, I
would like to
[41:43]
» Yeah. No, and I guess the only thing the
only reason I brought it up is cuz I
[41:47]
know what some of the guys, you know,
say that they wait until the very end
[41:52]
because,
you know, winter time, you know, they
[41:56]
had winner. Well, they can and they had
winter, but I just I don't at the end of
[42:00]
the day I it don't matter to me. I I
think uh going forward uh that we done
[42:08]
this this year and hopefully we up it
again next year with our foot traffic. I
[42:12]
think now we're kind of the place where
they want to come in. So I mean this is
[42:17]
maybe why we got this comment to us uh
to three different four sorry four
[42:23]
different people that got this comment
to do something like that with that
[42:28]
letter. So then
>> I mean even coming say put yourself in
[42:33]
their shoes if they put the $1,000 they
know that they got money going towards
[42:37]
it versus just a contract then they know
that they're locked in. You know it's
[42:41]
kind of a piece of mind for them too if
they have money up front on the table
[42:44]
then they know that they're going there.
Um just I I think that they're more apt
[42:48]
to be more comfortable knowing that
they've already committed with a check.
[42:54]
Are the dates are the dates you guys are
fine with the as far as the the April
[42:59]
and uh cuz honestly I wanted to do one
earlier but we did April and May so um
[43:07]
» I'm fine with that.
>> Do you Brady? Yeah, I you ask.
[43:14]
» Well, my question is, do some of these
vendors want to know before the
[43:17]
beginning of May that for their
summertime schedule? If you know they're
[43:23]
put in the application, it doesn't
guarantee that they're getting the spot.
[43:28]
Some of these vendors might want to know
more in advance, like in February or
[43:33]
March
whether or not they're doing an event.
[43:37]
» Yeah. And that's one of the things that
why I brought it up because she did
[43:42]
request that that uh you did it the
first in March and then in April. So it
[43:47]
would be March and April. But I was
reading other contracts. This is what
[43:52]
they had. I'm not saying we can't do
that. That's what you know I'm asking is
[43:57]
what you guys want to do. Those are the
two dates that we're throwing in there.
[44:00]
But the other food vendor that we had
actually wanted it back a month on each
[44:05]
of them. Well, we can that's that is a
due date, but it doesn't say that we
[44:09]
can't send them out.
>> They can put their application in and we
[44:12]
can approve them and say they're in.
They can pay ahead of time, but it's
[44:15]
just due on
>> Yeah, we can send this out next month.
[44:19]
» Yeah, that that's just the due date. We
can send these contracts out whenever we
[44:24]
get it figured out, right? And then when
they send it back.
[44:27]
» Yeah. Mark, did you have something?
>> I just had a question. Is there any
[44:30]
clause in there? What if there's an
unforeseen circumstance, a heart attack
[44:35]
or illness or something where they can't
make it? Are they out that $1,000 or is
[44:40]
there any statement on a refund?
>> Oh, we never had one. I just
[44:43]
» I just was thinking, you know, vendors
>> I would think that would come to the
[44:48]
board and then we would decide as a
board if we reimburse versus putting it
[44:52]
in a clause on exception. We would I in
my opinion we would vote on it
[44:56]
afterwards if they put a letter in.
[45:03]
Austin,
>> I would just I'd edit that first line a
[45:07]
little bit and just say we're continuing
or applications are due by 4 p.m. the
[45:13]
first Monday. Um, but after this is set
up to me, there's no reason why we
[45:17]
couldn't accept or start reviewing them
whenever they're turned in. The verbiage
[45:21]
right there says all that are turned in
will be reviewed at the same time.
[45:27]
» Say first come, first serve.
>> Yeah. No, see see because what happens I
[45:31]
do like that idea to say okay then in
that whether it be April or whenever
[45:35]
meeting that is the day that we're doing
all the food vendors like we get all our
[45:41]
applications at one time so that way
we're not one in January one in February
[45:45]
then we're like oh shoot we approved
this person but now this person that we
[45:49]
really wanted the same food now we have
that way we have them all here one time
[45:54]
and we're done
>> you're not favoring anybody going this
[45:56]
way it's all here it's all
If you have something for
[45:59]
» I guess to me if we're going to do it
that way, I'd almost go back to your
[46:03]
original thought and maybe move
everything up one more month.
[46:06]
» So go from March and April.
>> Yeah. I mean then I I like Brady's point
[46:11]
there about people want clarity going
into the summer and by the time May
[46:15]
rolls around, you your schedule could be
filled up already too. And if you're
[46:19]
trying to find a replacement vendor in
May
[46:21]
» and they they had requested that and but
the you know so I'm just trying to Yeah.
[46:26]
Whatever you guys think. Then my only
other point or question I guess is is it
[46:29]
nine or 10 where people are at as far as
vendors? We had 12.
[46:33]
» We had 12
>> this year.
[46:34]
» I think I think we had 12 but 11 showed
up
[46:41]
» and one left early
>> and one left early.
[46:43]
» 10 would be a great number.
>> Are we you know so we're making changes
[46:46]
to this y
>> from what we've done in the past.
[46:49]
» Yep.
>> Are we just going to like say something
[46:52]
on Facebook about that? How are the
people that have historically been here
[46:57]
or have applied, how are they going to
know that we've made changes?
[47:01]
» So, we thought about it when we talked
about it about sending a letter saying
[47:05]
just so you know that this has changed
and here's what it's going to look like.
[47:09]
Um, that's what we thought we're about
doing just so they're aware of it. Um,
[47:15]
the um I forget her name, but she didn't
care either way. She doesn't want the
[47:19]
verbage there, but I thought that's what
we when we talked about it. I think I
[47:25]
think it's a good idea.
[47:30]
» I would suggest contacting all of the
vendors that we had this year, letting
[47:36]
them know that the contract has been
updated, give them first chance, and
[47:43]
then obviously push it out to other
vendors. Then if we don't hit that
[47:48]
certain number of whatever our max is.
[47:54]
» Okay.
>> We change are you changing it to March
[48:00]
April instead of April and May
>> once we
[48:06]
» All right. So after everything
>> I asked him to wait on that so we can
[48:10]
get a motion on what we wanted.
>> Well, let's get it right and then make a
[48:13]
motion.
>> All right. That's what you guys want to
[48:15]
do.
>> Yeah, let's do marching. Let's do it.
[48:17]
Let's Thanks, Brady.
[48:27]
Then the only other thing that I was
wondering about are
[48:32]
the
extra passes.
[48:36]
I know we there's
>> I think we have up to four. Well, I
[48:41]
yeah, that's what I was just wondering
because now we're giving away for the
[48:44]
wristbands, we were giving away two two
free days instead of just one,
[48:49]
right? At the $15 mark, it's total of 25
if you pay for all five. So, I think
[48:56]
that before we leave that at 15, we
should have the discussion
[49:01]
about what we're doing with
>> I don't think you should put dollar
[49:04]
amount in there because what happens if
they just want to buy one day pass for
[49:07]
one person?
>> Oh, I see. So you're saying if he
[49:10]
includes
additional passes may be purchased.
[49:14]
» Yeah. Just
>> Oh. Oh. Okay. Okay. Yeah.
[49:17]
» Take out each
[49:22]
» good pitch. There you go.
[49:28]
» Okay.
March.
[49:35]
» You good with that for your paperwork?
Okay. at the bottom there. Confirmation.
[49:42]
» Only question I have is I imagine this
is for Kim. Is 4 o'lock on a meeting
[49:47]
date on on those Mondays. Is that enough
time for you to know who's a get off
[49:53]
applications for the meeting to us or do
you need it earlier in the day?
[49:59]
I mean, do you need a cut off at 3:00?
Whatever time you want the cut off is
[50:02]
when it is. You know, I just want to
make sure that you have enough time so
[50:06]
that you can get those to the board
meeting so we can look at it.
[50:10]
» Hopefully they don't everybody doesn't
wait until the last second that Kim's
[50:12]
got 10 of them to look through.
>> The only other thing
[50:16]
» the other thing you could possibly do is
stop it on Friday before that Monday so
[50:21]
you don't have to mess with it on
Monday. Yeah. I mean, if they're
[50:23]
waiting, they're respectful enough
people. They should get this in in
[50:26]
advance.
>> And I I don't I don't say that, but she
[50:29]
I mean the Monday through Friday or
Monday through Thursday that the county
[50:32]
works. That's why I admitted that
>> I just want to make sure that you have
[50:36]
enough time that you're not like at the
last second trying to print those off
[50:39]
because there will be people that send
the applications in at 358.
[50:43]
» I would imagine it would maybe be one.
So, I don't think it would be a big
[50:47]
deal.
>> Okay. I'd like to make a motion to
[50:50]
accept the new food vendor contract.
>> Second.
[50:54]
» Discussion. Discussion.
Is $1,000 too cheap?
[51:01]
I think for this year I think it's right
where we need to be to be honest with
[51:04]
you. I don't feel like if we go yes, but
if we go too much more I don't want to I
[51:11]
don't want to get too
>> greedy at first. I want to make sure
[51:16]
that they can come in and do it again.
Dave,
[51:19]
» it's a big jump from where we were and I
just think that I agree. Let's prove our
[51:22]
value to them again and keep them hungry
to come back.
[51:26]
» Just wanted to ask. We didn't really
talk about that much.
[51:28]
» Any more discussion?
All in favor then? I
[51:33]
» opposed. Okay, that passes. Thank you,
Michael. Okay, we're going to go um I'm
[51:40]
not sure why it says ticket pricing, but
it should say
[51:44]
well um
>> wristbands,
[51:47]
» wristbands.
>> Um so we don't have to slide for that.
[51:53]
So, I was waiting for a slide to come
up, but right now, just so you guys
[51:58]
know, the the the ticket pricing is not
it was supposed to be armband pricing.
[52:05]
So, um what I'm getting at by that is
right now, Michael, we're brought to me
[52:10]
that uh right now that we are at $15.
So, that takes care of three days. Well,
[52:15]
all five is actually $25. So, if we get
four in there and we give them a day
[52:21]
free, that's actually $20
per per wristband. Um,
[52:29]
so what's your guys' thoughts on that
then?
[52:33]
» I I don't see why we wouldn't be able to
do 20 bucks for a wristband. Um, I I
[52:39]
think five bucks, you know, to get in
whenever you want, go out, in and out,
[52:44]
free will. I think that that that'd be
just in line with any other fair.
[52:53]
Scott, um, couple questions. What was it
was a small percentage that used card
[53:00]
right this year at the gate? Do you
think that'll go up next year now that
[53:05]
people know?
>> I think so. So, I don't think it'll go
[53:10]
up to overtake 50% of them, but I think
it'll go from 12 to 15% up to maybe 25
[53:19]
30.
>> I know. The reason why I ask is we've
[53:22]
been at $5 since I believe 2020
>> co 19. That's when we $5, wasn't it?
[53:29]
» No. Uh, they did it prior to us joining.
So, it's
[53:32]
» No, we changed it all the first years we
were on.
[53:35]
» That would have been 19 then. That's
That's when we rechanged all of it. We
[53:38]
went to a straight $5. Before that, they
had like car.
[53:41]
» Yep.
>> So, we've been
[53:43]
» that part. Yes. Yes. That was 19.
>> I've haven't wanted to raise it
[53:47]
personally because $5 you don't have to
deal with once.
[53:51]
» Do we look at raising gate prices from 5
to $7?
[53:57]
We all have to deal with $1 bill,
>> but that's only if they buy day passes
[54:03]
versus week,
>> right?
[54:05]
Um, but we've been here at the same
price as a time that we increase our
[54:10]
attendance money.
>> So, the only thing on that, um, I don't
[54:15]
disagree with you about with the pricing
going up. I want one more year to be
[54:21]
able to say to the community that we're
for real and then have the discussion
[54:25]
the following year about, hey, I think
we might want to talk about ticket
[54:29]
pricing going up from five to whatever
we choose to do. Um, but I do think uh
[54:35]
that there's a good idea or maybe a
little bit of a discussion to go in on
[54:40]
this wristband thing. If we don't want
it, I understand. I'm saying we lost out
[54:45]
on what we had was what he had was right
around 750 tickets, which is almost four
[54:51]
grand.
So, when you look at it like that,
[54:54]
that's just off of $5.
So, um, that's the only reason why I was
[54:59]
looking at it that way when he brought
it to my attention that we're giving
[55:04]
away two free days. Dave, did you have
something to add?
[55:06]
» Yeah. Um, the wristbands, I'm fine with
20. The daily pass at five, I'd just
[55:11]
soon keep it there just because every
fair you go to, it's so expensive just
[55:16]
to get in the gate. And for me, with the
family, it's it's really frustrating.
[55:20]
I've heard so many comments this year,
especially at the entertainment when
[55:24]
you're sitting around with people just
talking and they're like five bucks to
[55:27]
get in here to see all this and you know
it's people really consider it a value
[55:32]
and I'd rather have that their mindset
be like that and work our our um
[55:40]
contributions from businesses and things
like that as hard as we did this past
[55:44]
year and and have a really satisfied
community, you
[55:50]
a group at the fair. So, I just think
there's not very often that people have
[55:55]
see a perceived value in something when
they and as many people has come up to
[55:58]
me and said five bucks is just there,
you know, they really appreciate that.
[56:03]
So,
>> I would agree with you, Scott, on it's
[56:06]
hard to do a dollar. So, I mean, if
we're going to up it, it's it'd be hard
[56:11]
to go the next step and get eliminate $1
bills. So, it's like, okay, we either
[56:16]
really up it or we keep it the same. And
I think we're probably not there yet. So
[56:21]
I think five bucks probably is in line
with what we're trying to achieve. But
[56:26]
that's my opinion.
>> You got to remember that too. I'm a
[56:32]
farmer and so I'm always paying the
bills that everybody else is charging
[56:35]
and Ben's a guy that charges the bills
and and get people pay him what he
[56:41]
charges. So it's just a different
perspective.
[56:43]
» Okay. Well, we're digging on Ben here. I
I I happen to the only thing I want to
[56:50]
come back on is yes, it's almost an
extra four gram we're losing.
[56:55]
» I the only question I ask with this I
have to bring it up is that what we're
[57:01]
doing is it it's at the cost of the
families that are coming in. I'm g we're
[57:07]
we're just guessing. We didn't know cuz
we didn't have that. How many of them
[57:10]
were the 4 and the kids in the families
>> was 750 armbands. Was that what we went
[57:17]
through or is that what we sold?
>> Uh the went through. So
[57:20]
» So how many of those were 4 k
>> exhibitors? Right.
[57:23]
» Exhibitors.
>> Yeah. Exhibitors. Yeah.
[57:25]
» You know because everyone
>> that's what that's what I just said. We
[57:28]
don't have that. That's why I don't
know. But those guys are for free,
[57:31]
right? They're getting their armband for
free once they sign their exhibitor. No,
[57:36]
we pay for it when you sign up on
>> We pay for it. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[57:41]
» But it can be, not to make it
complicated, but you could have two
[57:44]
different prices. The kids that sign up
for,
[57:48]
» you know, there exhibitors at the fair
can be a price when they sign up and
[57:52]
then it's maybe more complicated, but I
guess everybody could just come and say
[57:57]
they're Yeah. Everybody could just come
say they're an exhibitor, too.
[58:01]
I I don't think another five bucks I
would but five bucks guys if you guys
[58:08]
can't they can't afford this they
shouldn't come to the fair. I'm sorry
[58:12]
but
>> we're not talking people coming to the
[58:14]
fair. We're talking about like the 4
kids that are showing their exhibits.
[58:18]
» I got it. I get it. So, I guess I, you
know, it's different than charging
[58:23]
someone that's coming to the fair to be
at the fair because I believe even if I
[58:29]
have one project in,
maybe you guys can correct me if I'm
[58:33]
wrong, but I believe if I have one
project that I enter that I want to
[58:37]
bring to the fair, I still have to pay
$15 to get my armband. Even if I only
[58:42]
come in, I made a picture and I just
wanted to bring it to the fair and I'm
[58:46]
not going to come to the fair. I drop it
off Sunday. I still have to pay $15 for
[58:51]
my armband. Is that correct?
>> Negative.
[58:54]
» Ne, that is not right.
>> No. When you come to the fair, you pick
[58:57]
up your your your Marge, you can speak
up.
[59:02]
» Sure.
>> Yep.
[59:03]
» And then
>> it is the buying
[59:05]
» $5
armband.
[59:08]
» So, it's $5 for your armband. Okay.
>> That's what I thought. Right.
[59:12]
» Everybody else is paying the full 20.
>> Correct.
[59:17]
So they get a $5 daily pass is what
you're saying. Awesome.
[59:22]
» Right. If you look at
$6 entry versus $5
[59:35]
and it takes when there's 14,000 people
that can
[59:39]
14,000 games
that really makes up the
[59:48]
Columbus
had a $15,000
[59:54]
entry. Maybe people have to buy,
[1:00:02]
but
[1:00:05]
donation money goes a heck of a lot
further.
[1:00:09]
$15,000 is another
almost stage
[1:00:16]
act.
So
[1:00:25]
kind of thing to say that the time is
still a very small percent.
[1:00:31]
» Yeah. The only thing that I
>> Yeah. The only thing like I agree with I
[1:00:36]
I agree that we should up it, but I also
agree that we've had one really good
[1:00:41]
year, right? I think we have another
really good year and show them that we
[1:00:45]
can do it. Then it's a no then then
you're not going to have any backlash
[1:00:49]
from it in my mind. If they do want to
give us backlash, well it wasn't just a
[1:00:54]
one-year wonder, right? You know, we did
it we did it two years in a row. Now
[1:00:58]
buck off, you know, is
to Austin's point. Um I I I I understand
[1:01:05]
all that. Um
I just I just trying to not muddy the
[1:01:10]
water, I guess.
And and
[1:01:15]
so I guess the the question I has is if
we go from 15 to 20 on the armband or if
[1:01:22]
we keep everything the same for one more
year and and go into next year. It was
[1:01:27]
so that's the discussion.
[1:01:33]
So anybody want to keep or Yeah. player,
[1:01:40]
» you know, we made a big change this year
uh
[1:01:45]
in that I thought that we bought brought
the community out and they found value,
[1:01:52]
you know, and we we need to have the
community be part of that. We we just
[1:01:55]
don't need mom and dads and grandpas and
grandmas to come and watch the little
[1:02:00]
bingo there show his calf or pig or
sheep because they're going to come
[1:02:04]
anyway.
But I and I don't, you know, I don't
[1:02:08]
have a horse in this race, but it it's
just that I want I want I want the
[1:02:14]
community to feel that when they come to
the Dun County Fair that that's the best
[1:02:18]
damn money they spent for entertainment.
[1:02:24]
» So,
we're just doing it on just the
[1:02:27]
wristbands, right?
>> That's Y. I guess I'd make a motion that
[1:02:32]
we keep it the same this year as last
year and but hopefully we'll have the
[1:02:37]
ability to track where the wristbands
are actually being used and we can
[1:02:42]
circle back next year.
>> Is there a second?
[1:02:44]
» I'll second
>> discussion. More discussion.
[1:02:50]
The motion is we keep it the same at
$15.
[1:02:54]
All in favor? I
>> opposed. Okay. Leaving it alone. Okay.
[1:03:01]
All right. Mike, you're back up.
All right. Outdoor vendors. So,
[1:03:06]
discussion and possible action of this.
So,
[1:03:11]
oh, where am I at? Commercial. Sorry.
Yeah, commercial. So, the commercial
[1:03:16]
vendors.
Um,
[1:03:19]
so this year, Austin, you can correct me
if I'm wrong, but we had $3,500 that we
[1:03:24]
had to pay out. There was $2,200 brought
in for a minus of $1,300.
[1:03:31]
Um, and with those $1,300, I know I get
told this a lot not to look at it like
[1:03:36]
this, but we also give them $30 worth of
free wristbands to get in. So, but
[1:03:42]
either way, we lost $1,300 in the
commercial building this year. Um, so
[1:03:47]
the the discussion I have is that right
now the price is at $175
[1:03:54]
for them to get in. Um, I guess my my
thought is are we going to keep losing
[1:04:01]
money with 22 vendors and have to deal
with it or are we going to go ahead and
[1:04:08]
uh get rid of the uh uh vendors inside
and maybe make them outside? Um being
[1:04:14]
that the I thought we were losing last
year, this year proved that we were. Um
[1:04:19]
you want to scroll down on that if you
can please.
[1:04:24]
So that there there's the price. Now,
the only thing I changed there is if we
[1:04:29]
did do that, the outdoor booth space
would be that instead of $125,
[1:04:36]
but
[1:04:40]
» $175.
>> Yep.
[1:04:44]
» Discussion. Uh Austin, sorry. I think
this is a great idea. We have plenty of
[1:04:50]
space. We have plenty of outlets. Um,
and uh, it would cause a lot less
[1:04:57]
headaches for a lot of people
and create more indoor show space. I was
[1:05:04]
just thinking about the map
auction and uh, if we had bad weather or
[1:05:10]
something there, there's no reason why
it almost couldn't be held in there.
[1:05:15]
You ever thought about it that way with
the bleachers and everything?
[1:05:18]
» I think it was one time
[1:05:30]
It'd be it'd be an idea. I I do like
this idea quite a bit.
[1:05:37]
I know that uh that other vendor that
used to do the pipe and drape contacted
[1:05:42]
us and the cost would be less than we
paid this year, closer to a,000 bucks.
[1:05:49]
But
that still
[1:05:53]
um doesn't really get us ahead with all
the we only have so much indoor real
[1:05:58]
estate space at the fair. That's one of
the prime buildings. Well, one of the
[1:06:02]
other things too is the growing aspect
of it. Um with the uh the the young the
[1:06:09]
juniors and the seniors divisions and
the seniors wanting more space with the
[1:06:14]
quilts cuz right now we don't have
quilts um and that and they want them
[1:06:17]
behind closed doors. Dave, do you got
something to add?
[1:06:20]
» That that was my question is if you took
if the vendors were to leave the
[1:06:24]
commercial building, what would how do
you envision that space being used?
[1:06:28]
» I envision it uh being more of the 4 um
inviting that in there. I also have
[1:06:34]
talked to uh Jeff um which he doesn't
seem to have an opinion right now at the
[1:06:41]
moment about it, but uh um about moving
the tractors back indoors into that
[1:06:47]
commercial building and then opening up
that building that the tractors are in
[1:06:52]
to the poultry and rabbits and that
because that project has uh really took
[1:06:58]
off. it as growing uh in some of the
species almost four times the amount uh
[1:07:04]
I I want to say it was chickens that
were that but um and opening up that
[1:07:08]
barn to allow more space um going
forward and that's so envisioning it
[1:07:14]
that's how I envision it. I guess the
other part of that I know Larry had made
[1:07:20]
you made a comment at the county board
meeting about the commercial vendors and
[1:07:24]
how often how long some of them have
been there. So, I guess I'd be curious
[1:07:28]
to your thoughts on indoor versus
outdoor.
[1:07:32]
» Well, the first thing
first thing I don't want to do is leave
[1:07:36]
puddles of oil on that concrete
uh from these 60-year-old tractors.
[1:07:45]
And uh the only tractors that I can ever
remember that we've had in there in the
[1:07:49]
past had been Deb's brother brought uh
their uh Gordon's uh tractors in and
[1:07:58]
there was cardboard down and everything
like that, but uh I don't drive anything
[1:08:03]
that doesn't leak oil. You know, I'm all
for, you know, keeps the dust down. But
[1:08:11]
uh I just happened to
uh before the meeting tonight uh look at
[1:08:17]
the um one of the papers out of the Twin
Cities and the wasn't the top banner but
[1:08:24]
it was the bottom half and uh it had to
do with uh political ads and people you
[1:08:33]
know stating their political views and
putting it out there
[1:08:37]
even at the Minnesota State fair
is a noticeable thing. I mean, I I
[1:08:43]
didn't read the article, but uh
you know, some people like to come to
[1:08:49]
the fair to agree with a political uh uh
party and other folks like to come to
[1:08:55]
the fair to give the Dickens to the
political party. And uh
[1:09:02]
uh those folks probably aren't
interested in map. They're probably not
[1:09:07]
interested in the chicken show and
probably don't even know that we got a
[1:09:11]
dog show and uh uh think that they got
singing at the grand stand or the stage
[1:09:19]
is a you guy with long hair
but you know so so all I'm saying is is
[1:09:25]
that a fair offers a lot of different
things to different people and uh I
[1:09:31]
don't like being uh
uh asked
[1:09:36]
buy a knife or anything else walking
down the thing, but just say no thanks.
[1:09:41]
You know, uh uh but I look at the folks
that come there representing their
[1:09:47]
church. I look at uh people coming there
representing their business, Fleet Farm.
[1:09:52]
I look at the sheriff's department come
there representing Dun County,
[1:09:57]
uh
and uh everything in between. So maybe
[1:10:04]
maybe we just put them against the wall
and have one row and uh um raise the
[1:10:10]
price and and instead of eliminating it
uh cut it back and make it more
[1:10:16]
expensive to be there and see if this is
really what they want to do. Um, and uh,
[1:10:24]
uh,
you know, I don't get down the Midway
[1:10:29]
very often anymore, but there was a time
when you'd walk down there with your
[1:10:33]
buddies and every guy would want you to
throw the softball at the three milk
[1:10:36]
bottles and stuff like that. So, I was
at the Minnesota State Fair one year uh
[1:10:42]
showing cattle and I'm with five or six
other guys that were down there and
[1:10:46]
we're going down there and the midway
guy says, "Hey, Slim, come on over
[1:10:50]
here." I'm looking around.
He says, "See if you can three shots
[1:10:56]
here to knock down three ducks and
you'll win this big prize." And uh uh of
[1:11:02]
course I didn't hit any of them. And I
guy took the gun away from me and he
[1:11:06]
slapped me on the back and he said,
"Hippie, you gave it all you had."
[1:11:11]
» Wow.
>> That was back in the 60s. Guys called me
[1:11:14]
hippie forever after that. So, I mean,
there's a fair experience.
[1:11:18]
» Larry, do you do you think if we had a
tent with walls on it that say could be
[1:11:24]
closed up at the end of the night,
right? So, they we could have tables out
[1:11:28]
there and it' be a tent with walls.
>> That that would be good enough for these
[1:11:33]
guys. So they don't have to completely
tear down every day. But
[1:11:37]
» I would think that would work for for a
couple of reasons. And the other other
[1:11:41]
reason would be is that,
>> you know, it's not fun being the guy
[1:11:45]
that has to make sure things are locked
up
[1:11:49]
and that stuff's going to be there next
morning, you know, and the county guys
[1:11:53]
have done a good job with that, but I
never really cared for being that guy.
[1:11:56]
» And I get that. But when I looked at a
lot of these vendors that you just spoke
[1:12:00]
about
>> at Downsville days, where were they all
[1:12:03]
at?
>> All outside.
[1:12:05]
» Every one of them. Walmart,
>> the police department, the homemakers.
[1:12:12]
Um, I've seen those girls outside, by
the way. Um, everything that I was there
[1:12:17]
seeing was all outside. I'm saying that
they can make it still an outdoor vendor
[1:12:22]
pricing and stop. All I'm getting at is
when I go through there, I see so much
[1:12:27]
potential space to add to the show. When
you give something space to grow is what
[1:12:32]
I'm getting at. It's going to grow. That
that project in the commercial building
[1:12:35]
has grown. And I I just think that I
don't personally want to walk through
[1:12:40]
there. Why? Because I'm getting
solicited for something that I don't
[1:12:45]
want anything to do of. And if you look
at that building, where is everybody
[1:12:48]
else? They're away from it. I I just
want to make sure that we're giving
[1:12:53]
every and I get that point. I just want
to make sure that everybody gets the
[1:12:56]
same as you we say fair experience by
not getting heckled when they want to go
[1:13:00]
see something that's in a commercial
building like a arts and crafts or a
[1:13:04]
Lego thing.
>> So we do have plenty of real estate to
[1:13:07]
put them outside too as far as like
between the commercial barn and dairy
[1:13:10]
barn. We we got that whole row we could
line with tents. Well, there's not
[1:13:16]
there's nothing wrong in in doing things
different and I don't want to drag it
[1:13:21]
say that this is the way it's got to be.
I'm just saying for my own personal
[1:13:25]
opinion, you know,
I really enjoy seeing those people come
[1:13:29]
back year after year and if they come
back to a different spot, they come back
[1:13:33]
to a different spot. And uh uh but I
don't want to I don't want to drip oil
[1:13:41]
on that.
>> Right. Dave,
[1:13:44]
» I think uh if one of the things that uh
I had heard about was the possibility of
[1:13:49]
separating the junior exhibitors from
the open class. Correct.
[1:13:53]
» And I think that would be really neat
for the people coming to look at
[1:13:57]
exhibits to know what exactly what stuff
the kids made versus what was open
[1:14:01]
class. And as far as the oil tractor, I
think we can hand take care of that if
[1:14:06]
it were to go to the building. I just
think that that antique tractor display,
[1:14:10]
there's so many people that I talked to
that want to bring more tractors next
[1:14:14]
year.
I mean, uh, I sat next to a guy who's
[1:14:17]
had a a Massie that he's been working on
for years, but he's like, "Next year
[1:14:21]
that tractor's coming and I'm going to
have it done and bring it here." So, I
[1:14:25]
mean, I just think there's a lot of uh
pent up demand from what happened this
[1:14:29]
year and from people. So, I went to
Northern Wisconsin. I think there's like
[1:14:33]
five tractors or six tractors there or
something like that. I think we got a
[1:14:38]
good thing going. I think there's
nostalgia when it's in the old highway
[1:14:41]
shop with the bricks and the great
lights and
[1:14:45]
» that that's a pretty cool part. But how
many man hours do you think Brady that
[1:14:49]
we have just in running electrical for
those commercial vendor booths? At least
[1:14:54]
a couple man hours. So you could factor
$100, $200 saved just in and all those
[1:15:02]
100 plus pound cords that are running
300 ft with distro boxes and everything
[1:15:08]
else. It' be eliminated.
[1:15:15]
» Any more? Ben,
>> are we ready for a motion?
[1:15:20]
» All right. I move that we uh take the
commercial uh building as far as the the
[1:15:28]
Republican, Democrat, all the booths and
we give them
[1:15:33]
a spot outside under a tent and we can
discuss later on where we put them and
[1:15:38]
then open it up for the commercial
building to for the projects to grow and
[1:15:43]
then the price to uh go through as far
as this pricing that we had discussed.
[1:15:49]
Second.
>> I'll second.
[1:15:52]
» Discussion.
Scott,
[1:15:54]
» why do we have to supply a tent? Why
can't they just bring if they want to be
[1:15:58]
a vendor and they're outside, you bring
your own tent?
[1:16:00]
» Did I say supply?
>> Not supply a tent, but they can bring a
[1:16:04]
tent.
>> They supply a tent.
[1:16:07]
» Yeah, they can bring a tent, but it was
Yeah, I was under the impression that
[1:16:10]
you were saying buying a big big tent
because that was came up at one point.
[1:16:14]
» Okay. Um, more discussion,
>> you know, Mr. chairman, if we had if we
[1:16:20]
did have an outside um
uh display, you know, there's nothing
[1:16:25]
more fun than a dunk tank. And I mean,
you can't have a dunk tank inside.
[1:16:31]
» I know a guy.
>> I know a guy
[1:16:34]
» saying it's a heck of a good time.
>> I
[1:16:40]
try one of the
>> You should have saw when he went down
[1:16:44]
the slide getting him up off of that.
They have.
[1:16:47]
» All right. Reel back in, boy.
>> Back into uh Iowa State Fair had a they
[1:16:52]
always do an animal calling contest and
they also this year did a mom calling
[1:16:58]
contest from young young kids. And so
couple things like that and whatever too
[1:17:04]
I think would spice things up a little.
But
[1:17:06]
» so so going into what the tents outside,
I only ask that you think what we have I
[1:17:13]
know my opinion. What is your opinion as
far as putting you had mentioned it
[1:17:18]
earlier someone asked a question about
putting those tents outside? We have
[1:17:21]
enough space
>> then
[1:17:25]
» we got enough power we can run it home.
That's my biggest concern is
[1:17:28]
» there's there's exterior outlets
everywhere that we put booths out there
[1:17:32]
on the east side of the building.
>> And if we adjusted where we put a few of
[1:17:38]
those portaotties on the south side of
the Finetti, if they actually wrap more
[1:17:42]
around the corner behind um the uh the
one food truck, so they'd be facing
[1:17:48]
west, then that would give that whole
line which has exterior outlets. So,
[1:17:54]
» but that's the other thing. That's why
I'm saying a lot of these on here, uh,
[1:17:58]
when they come, they're not requesting
any power and all of a sudden they're
[1:18:01]
plugging into a 110 outlet and we're not
expecting that cuz that's the one that
[1:18:06]
they've always had and they're like, we
know that spot and that's why that lady
[1:18:10]
was so maybe that was you so adamant
about being where she was because she
[1:18:13]
knew there was an outlet there. Well, on
her application, when I look back, there
[1:18:17]
was no need for electricity. Most of
them didn't need electricity. So,
[1:18:22]
» we also have the the oak tree pedestal
that we wouldn't be putting a food
[1:18:28]
vendor at anymore,
>> as well as interior uh 50 amp outlets on
[1:18:34]
the inside of that overhead garage door
of the FinTe Center that I ran cords out
[1:18:39]
from that would easily reach vendor row
with the DRO boxes we already had. So,
[1:18:46]
we're good.
>> Any more discussion?
[1:18:54]
Okay. So, the motion's been made. All in
favor say I. Opposed.
[1:19:01]
Okay. Passes.
Okay. Um, then it'll just go to the
[1:19:05]
outdoor vendor. That's what we have up
here as far as pricing. And that pricing
[1:19:10]
just needs to be voted on. That's the
only thing we changed. So, if you guys
[1:19:15]
are good with the outdoor fender,
what do you guys want to do with that
[1:19:21]
pricing from 125 to 17?
>> What was indoor pricing?
[1:19:25]
» Right there. It's 125.
>> Oh, indoor. Sorry.
[1:19:28]
» Indoor was 175.
>> Okay. But now they're all outdoors, so
[1:19:31]
you might as well make them all.
So, I make a motion to have all outdoor
[1:19:37]
vendors at 175.
>> There second.
[1:19:40]
» Second.
>> Discussion.
[1:19:44]
Uh,
[1:19:49]
I guess awesome. What if there's an
outdoor vendor that comes in there
[1:19:55]
» that
[1:19:59]
needs extra space? Any verbiage that
isn't a 10 by 30 or a 10 by 20 like the
[1:20:05]
outdoor bouncy castle?
>> Yeah,
[1:20:07]
» that's true. So, so the 10x10 booth as
we have discussed before about that that
[1:20:14]
now goes to a 10 by 20. Now they're
paying for is that what you're getting
[1:20:18]
at?
>> Yeah. If if that's if we just calculate
[1:20:21]
it maybe on that square footage.
>> We didn't know how to we didn't know how
[1:20:25]
to when I asked Michael to help me out
with this. I didn't know how to put that
[1:20:29]
verbiage in there. So, I was just
thinking as when Kim said to that
[1:20:33]
person, well, that's an extra, you know,
that's 300 bucks.
[1:20:37]
» Yeah. 325.
>> Yeah. Let's let's just say
[1:20:41]
u
size adjustable at same cost per square
[1:20:46]
foot.
Is that fair?
[1:20:48]
» Yes.
>> For example, the outdoor bouncy castle
[1:20:52]
is 20 by 20. They just pay that same
square footage rate of the 10 by 10.
[1:21:01]
Otherwise that guy if he would have
showed up would have got a extremely
[1:21:05]
good deal because there was no cap.
>> Okay. Yeah. Say that
[1:21:13]
» uh uh outdoor boo space is 175 for the
10T by 10 foot.
[1:21:20]
» Um
>> you have a 10 by 20 that's going to be
[1:21:25]
350, right?
>> Yeah. Adjust
[1:21:28]
» 175 for 100. But how would you so
adjustable?
[1:21:35]
» Like the person with the with the
>> with the with the bow person like he he
[1:21:40]
was going to call and say, "Hey, I need
more space. Can I get two?" You know, if
[1:21:43]
someone's coming with something bigger,
they'll just
[1:21:46]
» Yeah.
>> because it specified a 10 by 10 space.
[1:21:51]
» It does have Yeah. Like Kim said, it's
got the quantity right on there.
[1:21:54]
» Yeah.
>> Yeah.
[1:21:57]
» Just more discussion. Yep, we're good.
>> Any more discussion?
[1:22:04]
» All right. All in favor with the motion.
I
[1:22:07]
» post. Okay. Passes at 175 for an
outdoor. Okay. Um judges contract
[1:22:16]
affidavits. We had uh uh revised it. Do
you have that?
[1:22:22]
Yeah. the we had uh updated it um on the
affidavit or whatever one we'll we'll
[1:22:29]
start with one
>> sure
[1:22:32]
» um
>> so this is
[1:22:35]
one that we used this year
>> correct
[1:22:41]
» so unfortunately
>> unfortunately I didn't uh do like the
[1:22:47]
the red and green font to show the
differences I created a whole new.
[1:22:52]
» Yeah, I know. Terrible of me, Scott. I I
apologize.
[1:22:56]
» So, what we So, what we did go ahead and
put the new one up there. So, the reason
[1:23:01]
for the updated version was it had a lot
of it that uh wasn't uh for the for what
[1:23:08]
wording, so to speak. Uh so, we made it
more correct. Um go scroll down.
[1:23:15]
Okay.
[1:23:21]
Okay. So like right there that hereby
certify the recorded entries attach
[1:23:27]
before the departments there was
nothing. There was only a line for your
[1:23:30]
department. So if she did for example in
the commercial building she did foods
[1:23:35]
and horiculture I don't know she
couldn't put that on there. She was
[1:23:38]
writing all the things she did. This
gives them or he gives them for uh it
[1:23:43]
it's not much but it's something. And
scroll down
[1:23:47]
» and then circles.
>> Yep. Yep. And then this is what it looks
[1:23:51]
like now.
[1:23:56]
So now it asks the department number,
the department name. So it keeps
[1:24:00]
everything a lot more cleaner when it
goes to Marge and Michael. Right, Marge?
[1:24:05]
You liking that? Okay. A lot cleaner. It
gives the judge's information right down
[1:24:10]
there along with the license. And for
Kim, it tells her that's an animal judge
[1:24:15]
or nonl animal judge. And all you got to
do is mark the box instead of writing it
[1:24:19]
all in. It's a signature of the judge
and then signature from Kim and away we
[1:24:24]
go. So that main part right at the
bottom as you see in the 1 1234
[1:24:29]
was taken out. This is what was put into
place along with the 250 and the 160 and
[1:24:35]
the name uh or not the name sorry the
phone number was added along with the
[1:24:41]
bottom two signatures.
A checkbox. Are we good with that?
[1:24:46]
That's that one. Are you uh you guys see
anything wrong with the judge's
[1:24:50]
affidavit?
>> Do you need an email in there, too, or
[1:24:52]
no?
[1:24:57]
» Uh where are you?
>> You do you need an email in there, too?
[1:25:01]
» Oh, for the judge's information.
>> It's a good idea.
[1:25:04]
» Yeah.
>> Okay, we'll add the email in there.
[1:25:07]
» Did you take that off of the cap form?
Okay.
[1:25:14]
» Yeah. Yep.
>> Ours is actually a little bit more
[1:25:17]
in-depth
>> than the one that you can get off the
[1:25:20]
DadCap website.
>> Add email. Good catch.
[1:25:29]
» Okay. Anything else?
>> Approve.
[1:25:33]
» I move to approve the new judges form
with the email added to it.
[1:25:40]
» Is there a second?
Uh discussion.
[1:25:47]
All in favor? I
>> opposed. Okay, that passes. Okay, that
[1:25:52]
was the affidavit. This is going to go
with the contract, right? That was part
[1:25:58]
of it.
>> Or the kitty tractor pull.
[1:26:01]
» Okay, so yeah, that's right. I have that
the um the kitty tractor pull uh
[1:26:09]
contract. Um,
so it is $600 going into next year is
[1:26:16]
what she has sent us. Um, we have the
right to do what you guys want. I'm just
[1:26:22]
letting you know that uh if we want to
sign the contract, she had sent an email
[1:26:28]
over with
what it's going to look like. And I
[1:26:32]
should have had it pulled up, but I
don't.
[1:26:42]
I thought we had like a couple years
left.
[1:26:45]
» That's what I was going to talk about is
that uh uh we we did but uh she had she
[1:26:51]
she was wrong. That was our last year
and and for the contract. So we're not
[1:26:58]
underneath any more contracts. We were
up to uh you guys to um you want this.
[1:27:10]
Alls I know is we're going to have to
probably find a new young man to pull
[1:27:13]
that sled back cuz I don't know if Jack
is going to be there. Jack said it was
[1:27:18]
that he enjoyed it because he used to do
it when he was a kid, but he says it's a
[1:27:22]
lot. You know, for us to pay 600 bucks,
it's a great experience for kids. But
[1:27:26]
Jack's like, "Dad, that's actually quite
a bit of work that sl back how many
[1:27:31]
times?" You know, so it's like we
probably, you know,
[1:27:37]
» No, Jack had Jack had to
>> How many kids do we have this year
[1:27:41]
pulling?
>> Him and his family did the whole
[1:27:43]
» No, Jack pulled it back every time.
uh with what Larry had told me. Larry,
[1:27:50]
do you remember there was six I want to
say 16? Was that correct?
[1:27:55]
» 17 something like that.
>> It wasn't anyways.
[1:28:01]
» And uh the only thing I can say about
the tractor pull is that unless you've
[1:28:07]
got somebody that wants to do that, you
know, you're not going to cut across the
[1:28:12]
fairgrounds to come and watch it. you
know, it's it's strictly a uh like a
[1:28:18]
little britches thing. Uh you know, if
you got somebody participating, you're
[1:28:23]
going to watch. If you don't have
anybody participating, you're not going
[1:28:27]
to watch. And uh we kind of fell down a
little bit this year and that we didn't
[1:28:33]
really have any prize money to give out
like we have in the past. And we we we
[1:28:38]
had some Culver's gift certificates. Uh
I don't I don't know what it would do if
[1:28:44]
we uh promote it, but
the whole whole thing is is that it uh
[1:28:52]
you know has classes from four and under
up to what 11 or 12 and these kids come
[1:28:58]
back every year and grandparents come
back every year, you know, and so so for
[1:29:03]
the people that are involved in it, it's
a big deal. for nobody for everybody
[1:29:07]
else, you know, they're worried about
the price of cheese curds or, you know,
[1:29:13]
something with the ban. You people come
to the fair for different reasons. This
[1:29:16]
is just one of many reasons. So, depends
on what you want to do. It would seem to
[1:29:22]
me if you had the uh the pipe and drape
out of there that would give you a
[1:29:27]
little more room. Uh it was absolutely
not successful in thinking that uh
[1:29:34]
grandpa and grandma and mom and dad are
going to be uh up in the bleachers
[1:29:38]
because they're right down there taking
the picture right in front of the kid
[1:29:42]
and the kids
brothers and sisters.
[1:29:46]
So, I mean, you know, it's if you're
there and you got somebody doing it, it
[1:29:51]
means something otherwise,
you know,
[1:29:57]
» correct me if I'm
>> wrong, but
[1:30:00]
» wasn't that kind of a last second thing
where we didn't even think we were going
[1:30:04]
to the kitty track pull and all of a
sudden
[1:30:07]
» they called.
>> They called and I mean it was like a
[1:30:11]
last second thing,
>> correct? Is she looking for a multi-year
[1:30:14]
contract or can we do a one-year
contract?
[1:30:17]
» We court if I can. I'm sorry I don't
have the email. I thought I had it
[1:30:21]
earlier and I don't know where I found
it, but it was a one-year contract.
[1:30:24]
There wasn't anything multi-year on it.
It was just the $600 you supply the
[1:30:29]
trophies like we're saying and uh and
money cash prizes.
[1:30:35]
But it does not it did not state how
much it was on there for cash prize. So,
[1:30:39]
was it $5, $10? nothing like that. Um,
but so our cost would be right around
[1:30:47]
$700 is what I had figured out to put on
this kitty tractor pull.
[1:30:51]
» Our cost,
>> Michael.
[1:30:56]
» So the the company that we're using
right now, are they state sanctioned?
[1:31:00]
» Yes. Correct.
>> They are. Okay. So it sounds like we're
[1:31:03]
paying you said $600 and then yet we're
supplying
[1:31:07]
» $100.
>> Yeah. are supplying whatever the winners
[1:31:10]
get, whether it's ribbons or trophies or
whatever,
[1:31:12]
» and then
>> like a prize or a monetary prize for
[1:31:18]
that.
>> Have we considered looking at other
[1:31:21]
pedal pole companies that would handle
everything?
[1:31:25]
I mean, because it sounds like Troy,
your son was pushing everything back,
[1:31:29]
which I feel like that is a liability. A
and B. It should be
[1:31:37]
» I was at the voice for last weekend and
they did everything.
[1:31:40]
» He pulled it back and
>> they took everything in
[1:31:43]
» at least nobody to supply it.
>> In my experience hiring pedal pole
[1:31:48]
companies, they handle everything. Y
>> uh the one that I uh hired for Duran
[1:31:55]
Funfest, I don't remember the exact cost
of it, but it was X amount of money for
[1:32:00]
them to host the the poll. And then if
you wanted ribbon, if you wanted them to
[1:32:07]
supply the prizes, whether it be ribbon
or trophy, it was X amount of money. So
[1:32:11]
it was X amount for ribbons or X amount
for trophies. They handled everything.
[1:32:16]
So I just I guess I question if we want
to continue doing it. It sounds like
[1:32:22]
should we hire someone that is handling
everything?
[1:32:25]
» Company were they say sanctioned?
>> Yes.
[1:32:27]
» Okay,
>> Dave.
[1:32:30]
» Uh I I guess that kind of Michael kind
of gets to my point. Downville just had
[1:32:35]
it where they have 70ome kids pulling.
>> I think something like that. So
[1:32:40]
» we had 65.
>> I think maybe a different vendor might
[1:32:43]
be better for the fair too. But
>> and awesome. Luckily, we don't have to
[1:32:49]
pay Larry for his announcing otherwise.
We'd really be Well, but that's one more
[1:32:54]
thing that we have to do ourselves,
>> right?
[1:32:58]
» And it cost us money.
[1:33:02]
» I'm not going to be available. Don't
take I got to go. Thanks.
[1:33:07]
Is there any chance you could contact
that other company that you had and we
[1:33:13]
can just table this until next meeting
when maybe we have another option as to
[1:33:18]
a company that would be all-incclusive
and what that would cost then we can
[1:33:23]
visit it.
>> We can I got the other information just
[1:33:25]
now got the techie going on here. So the
sponsored uh we have to do the PA system
[1:33:32]
obviously an announcer one person to
help with the tractor pull and as I was
[1:33:36]
saying the trophies and then on top of
that they want obviously our liability
[1:33:40]
insurance what they're supplying the
pedal pole operator is the tractor and
[1:33:45]
sled one person to run the tractor and
sled registration forms state voucher
[1:33:50]
and ribbons flat fee payable to them for
$600.
[1:33:56]
So
when I was asking her what the trophies
[1:33:59]
and the cash prizes cuz she added that
on what and it wasn't in her contract as
[1:34:06]
so they figured that out extra $100.
They didn't say trophies or what kind.
[1:34:13]
So we can do that. Scott, I just wanted
to get the rest of the information out
[1:34:17]
to you guys.
Uh Ben, did you have some?
[1:34:23]
I say we just table it till next meeting
look into other vendors.
[1:34:27]
» Can I get a second?
>> Can I all uh discussion?
[1:34:33]
No. All in favor?
Okay. Uh matters uh kitty tack poll is
[1:34:41]
is um tabled. All right. Schedule
changes. Michael's going to bring that
[1:34:47]
up. This won't take very long if when he
brings it up, but there was a few of
[1:34:51]
them that we just want to look at. Uh,
one of them was the dog show. They
[1:34:55]
wanted to go from a Monday to a Monday.
Um, rather than have it on a a Monday
[1:35:03]
and a and a Tuesday. They want to go
Monday. Monday. So, um, you can see that
[1:35:09]
there. You make that bigger.
[1:35:19]
Yeah, there we go. So, the ones that are
in uh in green are the proposed changes
[1:35:28]
um with uh we had an extra day, Jeff,
that we we had heard that some people
[1:35:33]
wanted on Saturday. That's and just
threw that in there if if far as a
[1:35:39]
tractor drop off for like a sat, you
know, we're there anyway, whatever. But
[1:35:44]
just to put it on the schedule so people
see it type of deal. Um the planter and
[1:35:49]
container drop off on that Monday 11 to
8 being that Marge it wasn't we wouldn't
[1:35:56]
see it very utilized. Talking with uh
Amy um and and um and uh
[1:36:04]
um Zach that it wasn't utilized as much
as they thought it was going to because
[1:36:09]
they felt like a lot of projects weren't
done. So they wanted to know we get it
[1:36:14]
back to a Monday, open it up a little
longer. So then we went 11 to 8 with and
[1:36:19]
then the suggestion was 9 a.m. on the
dog judging. And if we scroll down
[1:36:25]
um what was there? Okay, this is the big
one. So the so we had uh Ben had a lot
[1:36:32]
of comments or or not comments but maybe
complaints about the sheep shows
[1:36:39]
goat show. So talking with the
superintendent, Ben, you want to take
[1:36:42]
that over, please?
>> Yeah. So after talking with the goat
[1:36:45]
superintendent, they had a lot of kids
that were showing dairy as well as
[1:36:50]
goats. Um, and they had put in a request
that they get their show moved so then
[1:36:56]
they can have kids that can do both
their projects. So they had put in a
[1:37:00]
request to possibly do after the sheep
show. And then I talked to Derek, too.
[1:37:04]
So, we were going to bring that up at at
this meeting on changing the goat show,
[1:37:08]
moving up the sheep show and dropping
the goat show below the sheep show, if
[1:37:14]
that makes sense.
>> Any discussion?
[1:37:19]
» That would be different judges for sure.
>> Some fairs aren't. So,
[1:37:25]
» we would get we would get different
judges for the goat and the sheep show.
[1:37:28]
Yes.
>> Uh dairy. Yes. Dairy and and the goat
[1:37:32]
show would be different. Yep,
Scott.
[1:37:35]
» So then there would be no animal shows
that would really overlap. Correct.
[1:37:39]
» That's what we're hoping.
>> That's I mean I mean they might just by
[1:37:42]
few minutes but in theory
>> and this was suggestion off of
[1:37:46]
» Amy Smithy had made the request because
they had some kids that were in both.
[1:37:51]
» And just so we're clear, you talked to
Amy.
[1:37:54]
» Yes. Amy said she would like like to
change and I Okay.
[1:38:01]
Um, Kim,
>> did the um music there was a conflict
[1:38:07]
with the dogs and music
submissions and stuff. Did that all get
[1:38:12]
ironed out?
>> That will be cleared up now cuz the dog
[1:38:15]
show is moving till Monday. Okay. That
was one of the reasons why they were
[1:38:18]
willing to move because there are a lot
of kids in the dog project that do like
[1:38:22]
watching their projects be judged also.
>> Um, so they were more than willing to
[1:38:27]
move it to Monday.
Dave,
[1:38:31]
» there any other changes on the other
days or is this it? Th
[1:38:34]
» This is I don't think we made No,
>> we had
[1:38:39]
» um this is just a big one because why is
cuz I got to put it in the fair book. Uh
[1:38:43]
and I'm hoping to start on that pretty
soon. Um so I need to know if you guys
[1:38:48]
approve of that. So if somebody can make
them go ahead, Austin.
[1:38:52]
» And this
this is just for the judging.
[1:38:56]
» Judging. Yes. This is nothing to do with
anything else. is the dog project and
[1:39:00]
the goat project and the drop off
project.
[1:39:04]
» I move that we change the goat, the
sheep and the dog projects to the
[1:39:09]
according times that we have on the
schedule.
[1:39:12]
» Is there a second?
[1:39:15]
Jeff second it is all in favor.
Okay, those are okay. Um this should
[1:39:25]
have been just a talked about but the
parking car organization selection is
[1:39:29]
what we were touched base on last time.
um that there was a uh actually Nick had
[1:39:36]
proposed um that we asked the booster
club in Monomony
[1:39:42]
um which is great uh and have um
uh also with a dollar amount and what we
[1:39:51]
were able to give which is a valid
point. So, the reason why I have it on
[1:39:56]
here, for one, if fine if we ask who we
ask, but putting a dollar amount on how
[1:40:01]
much we're going to give these people
for parking cars and the days are 4 to 8
[1:40:05]
on Thursday, Friday, Saturday. That way,
we can get this out to these clubs that
[1:40:10]
take a while to to make these decisions.
Go ahead. Uh, Scott,
[1:40:15]
» how many You were up there parking cars.
I was not. How many people would it take
[1:40:22]
» shooting? Shooting from the hip, you
need at least six. I mean, and and
[1:40:27]
that's on the light end. I mean, if you
got
[1:40:29]
» I think you need eight to 10.
>> Yeah. Yeah. It would help out having
[1:40:32]
more than what we need
>> because once you get going all over,
[1:40:35]
» I think you're six when you're in the
fairgrounds, you go to 8 to 10 when you
[1:40:39]
start going across
>> the school.
[1:40:41]
» And not saying that, you know, one of
the members can't jump in and help if we
[1:40:45]
need to be later on. And you know, if we
set say we need six and we say we need x
[1:40:51]
amount of people, not saying that if
they get a little short staffed that
[1:40:54]
somebody couldn't jump in either and
help.
[1:40:57]
» I know Bruner would be more than happy
to come help again.
[1:41:01]
» Jeff, did you have something?
>> Nope.
[1:41:04]
» I really think the fair board needs to
get away from being so involved with the
[1:41:09]
parking. You guys did a great job, but
it was all encompassing when you guys
[1:41:13]
were doing it. So it took up everything
you had and you detracted. I mean
[1:41:18]
couldn't even see some of the other
things that were going on. So um how
[1:41:22]
many organizations do we have right now
and what do we pay the current
[1:41:26]
organizations that do the parking?
>> We have one organization right now which
[1:41:32]
is the Knights of Columbus uh that deals
with that parking. Um, if that's nothing
[1:41:39]
that like parking the car,
>> they just collect and then uh Lions Club
[1:41:43]
is the only other one.
>> Yeah, nobody nobody deals with parking.
[1:41:47]
» I was just thinking how many 4 clubs
>> I know like the Saturday night deal
[1:41:51]
might get a little bit harder, but
>> say, you know, 4 clubs would be tough
[1:41:57]
because if you get younger kids, they
they aren't going to be able to park
[1:42:00]
cars.
I I I get what you're saying, but I mean
[1:42:04]
it's you're going to have kids that are
going to be helping and I don't
[1:42:07]
personally think that's a good idea.
>> No, I was just thinking if we could give
[1:42:10]
back to the 4 clubs if we could get
adults.
[1:42:14]
» Maybe fishing game would be up for this
or not.
[1:42:17]
» Yeah, I'm not opposed to one of these.
>> Also, don't think we should give up the
[1:42:22]
sell the farm to do it
>> to have somebody do it if we f if we
[1:42:27]
look at alternatives like
busing
[1:42:31]
to help.
>> Yeah, exactly. So, Stout uh parking and
[1:42:36]
transit, we haven't talked about that at
all. The possibilities there. Is there
[1:42:40]
cost associated with that or not? Um and
if if we do do it, I say you get your
[1:42:45]
price, what the board, what you guys
think, and the dates and then open it up
[1:42:50]
and see who's all would be interested in
doing it. And not you don't have to give
[1:42:55]
every night, you know, you can do
different people or different groups for
[1:42:58]
different nights or something, too.
>> Yeah. I guess that's kind of what I was
[1:43:01]
asking is if
>> I believe the the Knights of Columbus at
[1:43:05]
the gates, I believe it's roughly like
$15 a manh hour is what that's figured
[1:43:10]
at. It's a little bit lighter than that,
but roughly that. So that put it like at
[1:43:14]
$2,000.
You you know, if you had 10 people here
[1:43:17]
for four hours, that'd be roughly about
two grand.
[1:43:20]
» How many people you say?
>> 10.
[1:43:22]
» 10 people. That was 10 people. Four
hours. You figured from four to eight,
[1:43:25]
right?
>> Is Troy, I know you were up there. Is 4
[1:43:29]
early enough? I know.
I I mean, just kind of We We're going on
[1:43:35]
night to night. Jeff, you were there,
too. Is 4 Is 4:00 early enough?
[1:43:38]
» Yes.
>> Yeah.
[1:43:39]
» Just throwing it out.
>> Plenty early. I think we're going to
[1:43:42]
have to take them and line them up. you
know, we're gonna have to paint lines
[1:43:46]
and stuff so people kind of know what's
going on better than
[1:43:48]
» Y,
>> you know,
[1:43:49]
» I think we need to be more organized
with the parking up front and it would
[1:43:54]
make it a lot easier cuz like getting
people into the center behind the
[1:43:57]
carnival and stuff like that. Probably
be four so you can get make sure people
[1:44:02]
maybe one or two people just to make
sure people aren't parking stupid, you
[1:44:08]
know, right? But after
>> it went well for the way they parked.
[1:44:14]
We still had to fill it in. So
>> Dave, did you have something?
[1:44:17]
» I just You're You're talking for the
entire fair, Scott. The two
[1:44:21]
» 2,000 for the whole fair.
>> I agree.
[1:44:24]
» What? Well, what? Yeah.
>> Yeah. Because at that at 10 bucks or 10
[1:44:30]
people for 15 times four is 600 bucks a
night for three nights would be 1,800.
[1:44:37]
» But Yeah. So that that was kind of the
what what sorry what was the who said it
[1:44:42]
what was the price
>> 600
[1:44:45]
» I'm just writing it down and I missed
what it was
[1:44:48]
» 600 at night
>> night that's what it was okay
[1:44:50]
» that's 10 people
>> 10 people
[1:44:54]
okay
[1:44:58]
Austin did you have something
>> even everybody gets there for either the
[1:45:03]
grandstand act or the grandstand event
or the pre-stage act by 7:00. Even 4 to
[1:45:10]
7 really helps.
>> Even I mean if you go if you want that
[1:45:15]
many hours, push them up to 3 to 7. By
7:00 everyone's pretty much set.
[1:45:27]
» Um so
the the big thing on this is the the
[1:45:33]
organization and selection. So,
as as far as getting a money, how much
[1:45:39]
we're going to do,
if you guys want to vote on that
[1:45:42]
tonight, I guess that's part of it. I
think
[1:45:45]
» I think we open bid it or or to talk to
different organizations and say we need
[1:45:51]
we need 10 people 4 hours a day for
these three days. What
[1:45:58]
» what would Yeah. What would you do it
for? Between, you know, a stout
[1:46:01]
fraternity with their guys taking it or
the football team that was brought up
[1:46:06]
earlier with one of our board members
use one of the football coaches, a great
[1:46:11]
fundraiser for them. They're still done
early in the evening or the fishing game
[1:46:15]
does it or another organization like
that. But um and then it's fair for
[1:46:22]
everybody of what they can come in at if
they have interest. So, who are we just
[1:46:28]
going to
>> Would you would you mind if we did
[1:46:31]
something like this? We're looking for
parking vendors. We're opening it up for
[1:46:36]
anybody uh any association to come here
and park cars. Here is
[1:46:43]
what we're looking for. Thursday through
Saturday
[1:46:49]
4 to 8, let's say. Um I agree.
>> Contact us.
[1:46:57]
Yeah,
is that a fair way to go about it?
[1:47:01]
» Is that a fair way to go about it is to
put something out there? Otherwise, are
[1:47:05]
we asking too much or should we just go
to certain organizations and ask these
[1:47:09]
people that we feel comfortable with to
to do that
[1:47:14]
» and and like like
>> I I guess my mind goes to if you ask
[1:47:17]
people to put bids in if their bids are
going to come in higher than that just
[1:47:21]
thinking that their time is worth more
than that. But when you put it down to
[1:47:25]
manh hours, it's it's really not. So
that's my concern if you just open bid
[1:47:31]
it that way. But
>> yeah, I'd say we have $1,800 to spend on
[1:47:35]
this.
>> Yeah. And go to a certain organization
[1:47:38]
and ask them what I think I especially
if Nick had a contact. Yes. I mean, you
[1:47:44]
want to you don't want some organization
that maybe no one knows out there. You
[1:47:48]
know, I think you're better off working
with, you know, if Larry knows a group
[1:47:52]
of people that he wants to contact or
whatever, go reach out to people that we
[1:47:55]
know and starters.
>> So, as a board, how as a board, how long
[1:48:00]
do we have to come back with
>> people? Where when do you want this?
[1:48:04]
» I would like to I'd like to get the
dollar amount and then if it's all right
[1:48:07]
for Nick to contact these people and
start there and he he said he would take
[1:48:11]
it.
>> Well, we plan on 600 bucks tonight for
[1:48:14]
10 people for 4 hours. Is that what we
And then uh
[1:48:20]
» you're making a motion.
>> Yep. I I move that we go with 600 bucks
[1:48:24]
a night, Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
three nights,
[1:48:29]
3 to 7.
>> Okay.
[1:48:31]
» With 10 people, and we reach out to
different organizations to see if they
[1:48:37]
would be willing to do it.
>> Is there a second?
[1:48:40]
» I'll second that.
>> Uh discussion.
[1:48:43]
» Are we supplying anything?
orange vests. I say we've probably or
[1:48:49]
yellow vests, fluorescent vests. Um, and
I don't know if the county's got some of
[1:48:54]
them cones, them waving cones or
something.
[1:49:01]
» What about like walkie-talkies? Like is
that going to be
[1:49:04]
» They probably They probably need
walkie-talkies from a fair board. Yeah,
[1:49:09]
they're going to need those.
>> Okay, that's what I was just wondering.
[1:49:11]
You know, are we going to supply?
>> We'll probably have to have more radios
[1:49:14]
than last year. returned all of them.
Um, it was a good test drive, a
[1:49:20]
durability test that they did not pass,
but I got our money I got our money
[1:49:25]
back.
[1:49:29]
» Y
understand.
[1:49:34]
So,
>> Scott,
[1:49:37]
» um, I would actually I would amend it to
actually move it to like 750 a night.
[1:49:43]
I'm just thinking of myself and if I
were a part of a booster club or
[1:49:46]
something,
I don't know if I would do it if I'd be
[1:49:50]
anxious at doing it at that amount for
three nights during the fair and dealing
[1:49:56]
with the people. So, I'm a little bit
more to say, okay, let's give you a
[1:50:01]
little bit extra so maybe we can find
somebody.
[1:50:05]
» I think
there's amend, right? So we
[1:50:12]
» we're still in discussion, right?
>> We have an amendment. So is there a
[1:50:16]
second?
>> Yes,
[1:50:17]
» there's no second amendment.
>> Is there a second?
[1:50:24]
» Yeah, the amendment fails.
[1:50:29]
» Yeah.
>> Yeah. Just go back to the main motion.
[1:50:31]
» Yeah. Main motion. Discussion. Correct.
You can always up the ante if you don't
[1:50:36]
get any biters.
I second the motion. That was already
[1:50:41]
done.
>> Okay. Oh,
[1:50:42]
» still discussion.
>> Yeah, we're
[1:50:45]
» I will I will reach out with Nick and I
will have he he's in charge of this. So,
[1:50:52]
I'll reach out to him and he'll send it
to the booster club. Any more
[1:50:56]
discussion?
>> We're going to look at U signal cones.
[1:51:02]
» Yes, we can land airplanes. We'll get
her done.
[1:51:06]
» Okay. Oh, any more?
All in favor? I
[1:51:11]
» I
>> oppos. Okay.
[1:51:14]
Okay. Um, Culver's gift cards. Uh, and
this I don't know
[1:51:22]
whose this is, but I'll put it to good
use. They said it was for somebody on
[1:51:27]
the fairboard.
Peter is his name.
[1:51:30]
» Yeah. From Jake.
>> From Jake.
[1:51:32]
» Yeah.
>> Was for somebody on the fairboard.
[1:51:36]
And he didn't give me a description. He
just said the guy on the fairboard. So,
[1:51:41]
anybody know who this belongs to? It's
not to me.
[1:51:46]
» You did a lot of work this last year.
>> That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking
[1:51:51]
if anybody else.
>> Oh, okay.
[1:51:54]
» We were visiting.
>> Okay. Well, maybe we'll meet you out
[1:52:00]
there. Okay.
>> Whatever.
[1:52:02]
» Mr. Chairman.
>> Yeah.
[1:52:03]
» One question. I know we we talked about
schedule changes prior and I forgot to
[1:52:10]
bring it up at that point, but was there
any discussion to u moving the demo
[1:52:14]
derby ahead a little bit in a time slot
to so that it finished just a little bit
[1:52:21]
earlier so that that crowd then could be
involved with the entertainment and the
[1:52:25]
food vendors and some of that.
>> I should have brought it up before.
[1:52:29]
» That's fine. So, we I I am uh been
texting Johnny. He's going to come to
[1:52:33]
our next meeting along with the Knights
of Columbus and and uh and the Lions
[1:52:38]
Club. Trying to get them all to come.
Johnny's coming. Uh Knights of Columbus
[1:52:43]
are coming and that's when uh we're
talking about changing I want changing
[1:52:48]
that time with what we had with
discussion with that. Yep. You're
[1:52:52]
welcome. Um so Culver's gift cards I
don't I don't know. Um, so
[1:53:02]
we have 57 lunches and 49 scoopies in
here that are left. Um,
[1:53:11]
okay.
I'm going to Cassie. I had text her, ask
[1:53:17]
her her wishes on what they said and she
said that she would love to
[1:53:25]
she would love to give it out to
whatever you think, but I also would
[1:53:31]
love to see the fair board take
something for what they did. They did
[1:53:34]
such an amazing job and didn't get paid
for any of it from my understanding. I
[1:53:39]
would be okay if that was split up
between you guys and thanks again for
[1:53:44]
everything you've done.
Okay. So, otherwise the other option is
[1:53:50]
too that I was looking and maybe I'm
wrong, but I do not see a date on there.
[1:53:56]
» You got to go ahead.
>> It's a date issued but not a date of
[1:54:02]
» You're saying maybe possibly lay them
over till next year. I
[1:54:05]
» I I'm just throwing it out there. I
didn't see a date. I'm reading what
[1:54:08]
she's texting. I asked her what she'd
feel.
[1:54:14]
» So,
What would you guys like to do?
[1:54:17]
» Just uh uh
dumb question, but for fair board
[1:54:23]
members to take a gift like that, is
that I I don't think is it
[1:54:29]
» I I didn't I didn't I didn't take any
>> What do you
[1:54:34]
say?
>> No,
[1:54:35]
I'm Can you take gifts and donations?
Larry said county board members can't.
[1:54:40]
So, that's all I was getting at.
[1:54:45]
I just don't want somebody to get
involved. I'm fine with laying it over
[1:54:48]
till next year. I'm asking what to do.
>> Well, I'm just asking for clarification
[1:54:52]
because I
>> Okay, so that's the clarification right
[1:54:54]
way to do it.
>> Yeah, she okay with going to be okay
[1:54:56]
with
>> Yeah, she said her whatever. She just
[1:54:59]
That was a nice thing she said. That's
all
[1:55:05]
» it it.
Thank you. It might it it might be just
[1:55:10]
a a nice little thing for our per park
parking crew because I mean they really
[1:55:15]
ended up uh uh making getting places.
They kept putting cars were places I
[1:55:23]
didn't think they had to put cars.
>> Well,
[1:55:26]
» and the people just were streaming in,
you know, so pretty good deal.
[1:55:30]
» How many judges did we have total
>> this year?
[1:55:35]
» Uh I don't know the commercial. I don't
know the answer to that.
[1:55:39]
» If it'd be a nice
be a nice thing if we had enough just to
[1:55:44]
mail it to them for their
>> we every judge got two.
[1:55:48]
» Oh, already.
>> Yeah. Sorry,
[1:55:50]
» Michael.
>> Okay.
[1:55:52]
» Some where like on Facebook like if we
have what was there 40 or 50 of them
[1:55:58]
where you could do like some sort of
weekly trivia to keep people engaged
[1:56:03]
with the with our Facebook and what
we're doing where we could do a weekly
[1:56:08]
trivia or something and then the winner
gets mailed a gift card to covers just
[1:56:14]
to keep people engaged with that.
it.
[1:56:22]
» I I guess I
>> I guess I guess the only other thing
[1:56:28]
that I'd like to do is that there was
five kids in particular that didn't get
[1:56:34]
anything that were parking cars with
you. Never asked for anything but didn't
[1:56:41]
get anything.
I I just thought maybe I don't I don't
[1:56:46]
have a number. My number if I did, maybe
it would be four. I don't know. Um but
[1:56:51]
those kids um didn't ask for anything
that helped us out. They didn't
[1:56:55]
complain. I'm just asking and we can lay
this over. It's just a suggestion.
[1:57:00]
» Two of them are in the Netherlands. You
could send them cards and you wouldn't
[1:57:04]
have
>> they got a clovers in the Netherlands.
[1:57:06]
So they don't they would never get used.
>> Okay. So we're down to three. Or the or
[1:57:10]
the the kids that helped at 11:30 at
night with Chris Cruz sound. The kids
[1:57:17]
that helped. No.
>> Oh, they're fun.
[1:57:21]
» Well, the other two were just at my
house last night and that did what the
[1:57:25]
notes.
>> There was a daytime group and a
[1:57:27]
nighttime group and um really
appreciated that guy.
[1:57:32]
» Yeah.
>> How about we just hold on to him till
[1:57:34]
next year?
>> Okay.
[1:57:36]
» Is there a motion? I make a motion that
we just hold on to these till next year
[1:57:40]
and we can use them next year.
>> Is there a second?
[1:57:44]
Larry second. Oh, discussion.
In favor, I
[1:57:49]
» I
>> post. Okay. All right. I'm going to turn
[1:57:52]
this last one over to Troy and and Ben.
And you want to put that up there. Okay.
[1:57:59]
So, um before I do, there was a a little
issue at the fair with um I'd like to
[1:58:04]
not putting names, please, when you do
that. So go ahead.
[1:58:07]
» Thank you.
>> So it was brought to our attention
[1:58:11]
midway through a certain show that there
was a issue that was brought up that
[1:58:17]
involved a member and a adult parent of
another member. And
[1:58:27]
basically how it went, no fair board was
a witness, but we had several witnesses
[1:58:32]
around when this happened. And there was
a uh needless to say there was a scene
[1:58:37]
that was caused that was had foul
language by the parent of this exhibitor
[1:58:45]
and had several people witness this and
there was a lot of
[1:58:51]
» and she was throwing things
>> throwing things throwing Yep. this
[1:58:55]
person, this adult was throwing things
and cussing and swearing about a
[1:58:59]
particular rule that was
>> she had tried she had tried saying that
[1:59:05]
this rule was in the fair book and me
and Troy did have a meeting with her
[1:59:08]
afterwards
um and went through the rule book and
[1:59:12]
she had highlighted a bunch of
>> Yep. uh which she had highlighted a
[1:59:17]
bunch of rules that may have not been
not been policed to a tea on these rules
[1:59:23]
during the fair. So very very minor
minor minor rules that didn't involve
[1:59:30]
any anything that was anything that was
bad just she went through the whole rule
[1:59:34]
book
>> kind of went with the fans hanging onto
[1:59:37]
the side of the beef cuff like that off
the ground. It was
[1:59:41]
» Yep. are shoots that need to be taken
down a half hour after the show, not an
[1:59:45]
hour, like just really small small
things. Um, and so after this whole
[1:59:51]
scene, after the show, um,
>> and we do have letters,
[1:59:55]
» we do have letters
>> of complaints
[1:59:57]
» of complaint from different members that
saw this go down. So after we had the
[2:00:03]
meeting, we wanted to bring it up to the
board on how we want to proceed with
[2:00:07]
this because this this is something in
my and Troy's opinion cannot happen at a
[2:00:11]
fair with a a parent um causing foul
language and having a scene at the fair,
[2:00:16]
especially after even having four
letters of different members that saw
[2:00:21]
this happen and very very heated parents
that saw this that had kids that
[2:00:26]
witnessed this. um as far especially
cussing and swearing and throwing things
[2:00:31]
that their kid they didn't want their
kids to witness.
[2:00:33]
» And this is not the first time Derek and
I in the past have went and had
[2:00:38]
conversations with this person. So this
is not like the first offense on on it.
[2:00:45]
And that's why Ben and I when we went to
meet with them took it pretty serious
[2:00:49]
and we we were lied to a lot about
like the biggest thing was like the
[2:00:56]
registration papers and she was saying
that people in the past have taken
[2:01:00]
registration papers and who it was just
all a bunch it was not the truth cuz I
[2:01:05]
followed up with the people that she
this person mentioned afterwards. We
[2:01:09]
were lied to in the meeting directly to
her face on um what she had claimed had
[2:01:16]
happened and said and then we went back
and we talked to those particular people
[2:01:21]
superintendants and they said that is
not how it happened. So we were lied to.
[2:01:26]
Um and so it's it's going to the point
where
[2:01:31]
we need to discuss what we want to do
going forward with this particular
[2:01:34]
person. I'd like to say that uh um
lied to I I'm I'm not sticking up for
[2:01:44]
one way or the other, but there's always
two sides to every story. Um so how were
[2:01:50]
you as far as lie to you was saying as
in
[2:01:53]
» said uh so she said that she was told
one thing.
[2:01:59]
» Okay. And then we went to that person
and asked, you know, what they had said
[2:02:05]
particularly and he that superintendent
said absolutely not. That's not how it
[2:02:11]
happened. And it even came down to like
the show, the show schedule was up on
[2:02:16]
Thursday night and the show wasn't until
Friday and she went and said that she
[2:02:21]
talked to the superintendent before the
show and by the end of the night cuz I
[2:02:26]
know I knew that that was not the case
and by the end of the night she turned
[2:02:30]
her wheels and said it was, you know,
after the show or whatever. And I'm
[2:02:34]
like, hey, you had all Thursday
afternoon and Friday morning, you knew
[2:02:39]
what class your do or your kid was in
and you if you would have talked about
[2:02:45]
it ahead of time, it would have meant we
could have prevented it, right? You
[2:02:48]
know, but we also had the discussion
with the regge papers that you can
[2:02:52]
register a main that's 5%, a seml, you
know, that's 5%. So it's like we're like
[2:02:58]
registration papers
really don't at the end of the day
[2:03:02]
really don't matter because if you want
to show a purebred man it can be a
[2:03:06]
crossbread and only be 5% made right. So
it's it was about a 2 and 1/2 hour
[2:03:13]
» yep meeting
>> meeting with her. Um
[2:03:17]
» so um just off what you're saying um
going forward not trying to speed it up
[2:03:23]
but with the direct criticism so on down
bottom left D county fair code of
[2:03:29]
conduct I've showed you both this this
falls underneath number seven
[2:03:34]
» well I think it falls underneath just
when I read it it falls underneath just
[2:03:38]
about every I mean direct criticism or
fears with the judge fear livestock and
[2:03:44]
abuse of throwing
Yeah.
[2:03:46]
» Um, that's what I'm getting at.
>> Um, and it leads us up to our discretion
[2:03:51]
and what we want to do is how it
pertains and you go ahead. Yeah. So, I
[2:03:56]
talked to Deb at Dad Cap on, you know,
how to move forward with it just to make
[2:04:01]
sure that we would not get in trouble or
do anything wrong. And she said as long
[2:04:06]
as the rule was is not a new rule,
right? It was a rule that we've already
[2:04:12]
had. She goes, she will support us in
any way that needs to, just as long as
[2:04:16]
we don't make up a new rule.
>> Yeah. And it's Yeah. And Deb at Dad Cap
[2:04:23]
has been not just by me, but there was
some people at our fair that actually
[2:04:29]
contacted Deb at DadCap about this also.
>> And going back to the line thing, um, I
[2:04:34]
I get to the he said, she said deal. Um,
but she had directly said that she was
[2:04:39]
unaware. Nobody had contacted her on who
to contact directly as far as if there
[2:04:45]
was a problem. But me and Troy both had
a meeting before the fair. And I
[2:04:50]
deliberately looked at everybody. And I
know this particular person was standing
[2:04:54]
right there when I we said if you have
any problems, superintendent's here,
[2:04:58]
otherwise come find me or Troy. So I
know that that was addressed. So as far
[2:05:03]
as the line goes and one thing there is
several witnesses so it's not just a he
[2:05:08]
said she said thing
>> and it was one of the things with
[2:05:11]
» she was trying to pro you know the
person that runs our open show she was
[2:05:16]
saying was taking regge papers and
that's like yes that is for an open show
[2:05:20]
it's a completely different show and
stuff and she's like no that she always
[2:05:25]
did it for the fair also and I actually
contacted the person that she said did
[2:05:29]
it she was I've never taken registration
papers for the 4H fair ever. It was only
[2:05:34]
for the open show is the only thing
she's ever like bringing animals in and
[2:05:39]
all that. The 4 stuff she's had nothing
to do with it. It was always two other
[2:05:44]
individuals that have been the
superintendent we have now and the prior
[2:05:47]
one that has done it all. So, so I guess
it's up to the board on how we want to
[2:05:52]
go forward whether it's a strip
reprimmend of this particular parent or
[2:05:59]
you know do we go to the extent of
saying you can't come to the fair and
[2:06:04]
the kids can or how do we want to go
about doing this as far as you know cuz
[2:06:09]
there was several people that were very
upset that on the scene that she had
[2:06:13]
made and
>> this is the third time this is this is
[2:06:16]
number three
>> but this is the first time has been
[2:06:19]
brought to the fair board.
>> Correct.
[2:06:22]
» Yes. That has came to this to this level
cuz you and I that was mapped back when
[2:06:27]
we did
>> that was mapped. That's different.
[2:06:29]
» So this is the first time that it's came
this far as far as this an instant an
[2:06:35]
instant with this this particular
person.
[2:06:41]
» Next thing it says junior fair
exhibitors dress cold for animal shows.
[2:06:46]
uh in there more than likely tells what
the dress show code is and uh you will
[2:06:54]
uh follow it or you won't be able to
show.
[2:06:58]
And uh
[2:07:02]
one of my dumbest things I've ever did
in my life was send my kids into World
[2:07:07]
Dairy Expo not wearing white pants and
they made it halfway around the ring and
[2:07:14]
they're out.
So, if you're going to have rules and
[2:07:18]
regulations,
uh, you know, you you've got I don't
[2:07:22]
think you've got anything printed on if
you violate this, this is what to
[2:07:26]
expect.
But most often these situations uh don't
[2:07:32]
fix themselves by saying, "Are you sure
you're sorry?"
[2:07:38]
Well,
>> things like this get fixed when you say,
[2:07:42]
"You've crossed the line. you're going
to have to stay home next year.
[2:07:45]
» Yeah. And there was there was no
remorse, no,
[2:07:49]
» I'm sorry I screwed up. It was like she
was she was trying to she hammered on
[2:07:54]
better.
>> Yeah. She wanted to make a point.
[2:08:00]
The
the thing that uh I think where the fair
[2:08:04]
board really needs to do something is if
you got letters coming from fair board
[2:08:09]
member or kid project members to dad cap
about this situation and we don't do
[2:08:16]
anything
very strong action then it uh what are
[2:08:19]
we here for type of deal. Correct. If we
don't if we're not willing to support
[2:08:22]
our kids when they're going to the point
of writing letters to DACA about um an
[2:08:28]
individual then
>> so with that being said are we wanting
[2:08:35]
to do the whole family or the
>> I got a question before you get there.
[2:08:40]
» Yep.
>> The things that she was upset about were
[2:08:43]
things that we didn't enforce. Is that
what she was getting at? But we gave
[2:08:48]
approval like for the fans being behind
them instead of the side. So we did give
[2:08:52]
approval that they could move them ahead
of time. So she she just saw it and
[2:08:59]
didn't ask any questions. Right. So
pretty much everything that she had,
[2:09:05]
» the little piddly stuff that she had was
pretty much all approved. Like the
[2:09:09]
shoots, they were they weren't tore
down, but they were put off to the side.
[2:09:13]
Right.
>> Okay. The only thing that maybe um I
[2:09:18]
could see some backlash there is in the
fair book that they have to have regge
[2:09:23]
papers, but it's gray area because say
you got a steer. Okay, steer is going to
[2:09:28]
get butchered no matter what or cross
spread. So putting regge papers in
[2:09:32]
there, it's it's hard. It's a gray area
because steers half of them don't have
[2:09:36]
reg papers,
>> right? But that's where we also talked
[2:09:39]
to her at the same time that a main only
needs to be 5% to be registered. So you
[2:09:43]
could ask what you know what did she
blow? I guess I'm confused. What did she
[2:09:48]
blow?
>> I will. Okay, I'll I'll paint a picture.
[2:09:51]
So there was a certain animal in a
peerbred class that was entered into a
[2:09:57]
class by a member who was entering for
the first time ever without parents
[2:10:02]
helping
into the fair. Okay, so she's entering
[2:10:06]
on her own. She accidentally put it in
the wrong class, but it still looked
[2:10:11]
like an animal that could have been a
purebred. Okay. So, it it passed all the
[2:10:17]
the inspections as far as this animal
could be a purebred, could be uh exactly
[2:10:22]
what she entered it in.
>> She was mad that we didn't require regge
[2:10:27]
paper and move it to the correct class
and it accidentally went through the
[2:10:32]
show and this particular animal won. Her
animal was second.
[2:10:37]
» No, her animal was third.
>> Sorry. Third.
[2:10:39]
» Okay.
>> Um, so it would have it would have
[2:10:42]
changed the placing a little bit, but
that animal had to go against the whole
[2:10:46]
show at the end of the day anyways. So
it wouldn't have changed the placing at
[2:10:50]
all. So she so the lady that was
throwing the fit, she was mad that
[2:10:56]
somebody else showed in the class that
>> in the crossbread class that or in a
[2:11:02]
purebred class that her kid was in. So
technically they didn't follow the
[2:11:06]
rules. That's what she's I'm not the
technically that's what she's saying the
[2:11:10]
fool and that's where she when she's
going off on tand she's saying you don't
[2:11:13]
follow these rules and okay trying to
get
[2:11:16]
» but at the same time this person knew
the steer was coming to the Dun County
[2:11:21]
Fair the whole time right cuz they they
were going to purchase this steer
[2:11:26]
decided not to. this other exhibitor
purchased it and brought it to so it's
[2:11:33]
she waited until after the fact and I
told her hey if you would have came to
[2:11:37]
us ahead of time none of us know it
looked like it could have been a pure
[2:11:40]
bred you know we don't run around check
all these animals but we're like hey if
[2:11:43]
you would have came to us ahead of time
and been proactive about it and you
[2:11:48]
would have said hey I know this
information about this steer then we
[2:11:51]
could have done something right you know
and at the end of the day like Ben said
[2:11:56]
it would not have shown ended changed
the outcome of the final beef show.
[2:11:59]
Anyway,
>> what
[2:12:02]
» did they They did not check registration
on any animal, did they? In the
[2:12:06]
» none of the animals have ever gotten
>> checked. Never be feces, nothing have
[2:12:12]
ever been checked.
>> So, and that's my thing is that she knew
[2:12:19]
about this steer when that steer was 400
lb, right? and knew where that it was
[2:12:24]
coming there. And it was more or less
after they got beat is then she is when
[2:12:31]
she got mad. So she had all the
opportunity in the world to be proactive
[2:12:35]
about it if she knew something. Right.
>> So um how many kids do they have? I
[2:12:42]
don't know what family I have no idea
who you're talking about.
[2:12:43]
» I don't want to say anything.
>> Yeah. And I don't want to know but I
[2:12:46]
want they have two kids that are
actively showing
[2:12:49]
» will be
>> well would will be
[2:12:51]
» will be one
>> will be
[2:12:52]
» they'll be down to one.
>> Yes.
[2:12:54]
» Okay.
>> What are what are the repercussions
[2:12:56]
versus barring this individual from the
show versus the whole family I guess is
[2:13:02]
is uh
>> that's pros and cons of each. I would
[2:13:06]
think that the exhibitor themselves
handles themselves in a pretty good
[2:13:10]
manner. And to be honest, I think she
would maybe enjoy it, be happy.
[2:13:17]
» My biggest thing about
>> wasn't there.
[2:13:19]
» I have a hard time punishing a kid for a
parent's actions.
[2:13:23]
» Um,
no. No.
[2:13:27]
» Right. the person who commits those acts
I think should be reprimanded
[2:13:32]
accordingly but it shouldn't affect a 4
member who
[2:13:37]
» I I got one more question before I weigh
in when when did she come to you with
[2:13:43]
the concerns
>> she came after the fair probably two
[2:13:48]
weeks after after she had already gone
to the county
[2:13:52]
» as she went to Randy said she went
>> instead she bypassed all the fair and
[2:13:58]
she went right to the county.
>> Right. And the other thing too is that
[2:14:04]
the daughter or the exhibitor
showed somebody else's animal at the
[2:14:10]
fair and came back and told them that
was the most fun that I've ever had
[2:14:14]
showing and it wasn't her animal like
the the stress was gone. And so
[2:14:19]
» I guess the the point that I would make
irregardless of everything that
[2:14:23]
happened, it was her conduct at the
fair, her language, throwing things and
[2:14:28]
things like that that I is what I really
have a problem with it. you know, no
[2:14:33]
matter what registration, all that stuff
doesn't at the end of the day isn't
[2:14:39]
what's getting her into as much, you
know, the trouble as much as her the way
[2:14:45]
she handled herself and the language and
the that kind of stuff. That's what we
[2:14:49]
can't have at the fair, that kind of
stuff.
[2:14:52]
» So, if we were to bar her from the fair,
how do we even
[2:14:58]
how would we even go? And I'm not saying
that's what we should do. I'm just
[2:15:01]
asking a question as a group. How if we
ever barred someone from the fair, how
[2:15:05]
would we even enforce that?
>> Well, we could talk like I could talk
[2:15:08]
with Deb at Dag Cap and she said that we
can and she would support us in any way,
[2:15:13]
but I don't know how like
but you you could all you could say is
[2:15:18]
that a little bit is that it happens say
in the beef barn, right? Is that she's
[2:15:23]
not allowed,
you know, in the in the beef barn,
[2:15:27]
right? I don't.
>> So, here was another
[2:15:30]
» recommendation that came from the
superintendent. Um, and this
[2:15:34]
superintendent, he had said, "Yeah, same
thing as me and Troy talked about, it's
[2:15:40]
a hard hard time banning a member for a
parent's actions, which I totally agree.
[2:15:47]
But what if you allow that family back,
but yet you put a strict gig order, so
[2:15:55]
to speak, that you are not allowed to
have a single scene or we are the fair
[2:16:00]
board is allowed to withhold your check
from the auction. And I know that's we
[2:16:05]
can't do that. We can't do that because
with map on the map side and fair board,
[2:16:09]
we're not together anymore. We're two
completely different identities. So that
[2:16:13]
ain't going to work.
I would just say my opinion is that I
[2:16:18]
think you can let her come to the fair.
You just ban her from
[2:16:23]
the area that causes cuz there they do
other projects and there's never issues,
[2:16:28]
right? The only issue ever is is in the
beef barn. So I think if you banned her
[2:16:32]
from
>> But how would you force that? I mean
[2:16:35]
» I am pretty sure that we could get phone
calls real quick if somebody stepped in
[2:16:39]
the beef barn,
>> right? But but how do we enforce that?
[2:16:41]
We calling the cops.
>> Sure. That that's that's what I'm asking
[2:16:45]
is what
>> right that's what I'm asking is are we
[2:16:49]
willing to do that
>> I guess uh I would lean on deap a little
[2:16:54]
bit as far as I'm sure they've had
situations like this in the past
[2:16:58]
» you know what exactly do they do and how
do they do it
[2:17:02]
» and I can call I can call de
>> we could maybe table this for a month
[2:17:06]
and come back with more information on
that too
[2:17:08]
» as long as everybody's aware of what's
going on that there is a situation at at
[2:17:13]
hand. And it does. I I mean, and like
Ben and I when we we went into this
[2:17:18]
meeting, it's like,
>> man, I really hope she's sorry and
[2:17:24]
everything and remorseful for what
happened and everything. And we sat down
[2:17:29]
on those tables and I'm just like I
looked at Ben, I just bite your tongue
[2:17:33]
and let her let her out. There's there's
in my opinion it's one thing to come at
[2:17:38]
the fair board and say if you got an
issue with a particular rule and come to
[2:17:42]
us and complain about it, but it's
another to go and make a scene in front
[2:17:46]
of a bunch of members. That's where I
really draw the line. And I told her,
[2:17:50]
you know, hey, you if you have issues,
you can come grab Ben and I and we can
[2:17:55]
have a discussion. We don't need to do
it in front of everybody. Right.
[2:17:58]
» Was that a motion? By the way, Dave, I'm
sorry if I didn't catch it. I would like
[2:18:03]
to make a motion to table it and uh get
some further background information
[2:18:09]
before we make a decision till next
meeting.
[2:18:11]
» Is there a second?
>> I'll second it.
[2:18:14]
» Discussion.
>> There's no discussion.
[2:18:16]
» Oh, wait. There's not. Sorry. All right.
Motion is tabled till motion is table.
[2:18:23]
» Yep. Till next. All in favor?
>> I
[2:18:26]
» opposed. Okay. Motion carries. Next
meeting.
[2:18:31]
Um, okay. Consideration the report
resolutions ordinance to recommend it to
[2:18:36]
the county board.
Nothing. Okay. Next meeting October 5th
[2:18:42]
at 5:00
[2:18:46]
and the it is adjourned.
>> I will not be able to
[2:18:52]
» Okay.
