[6:44] uh reviews it been determined that this

[6:48] section of the road is very likely uh

[6:51] under position jurisdiction. So we have

[6:53] pause construction until we can get this

[6:56] um issue clarified completely. um we

[7:00] have meetings have with our lawyer I

[7:02] think the police get their opinion and

[7:05] what next

[7:07] it's also determined that uh we have not

[7:11] been receiving the MFTt funds

[9:55] uh we did it at Advocate Condell and it

[9:58] was a great discussion. Um, and it was a

[10:00] great way for us to kind of talk about

[10:02] uh what are the needs in Lake County and

[10:04] how can we help. Uh, the other thing I

[10:06] do want to point out is that our lending

[10:08] closet this last month served 71 clients

[10:12] and that's huge. That's huge. That

[10:14] that's pretty big. Usually around the

[10:15] 50s. So, I don't know what's going on

[10:17] this month, but it really it was really

[10:20] needed. So, that's it. I have one in my

[10:24] networking group.

[12:22] stuff. Um I've gotten approval from the

[12:25] state for I believe around 30 boxes of

[12:30] disposal, probably about that. Um we

[12:34] still are waiting for a few more things

[12:36] to be um approved and then we will get

[12:41] those uh destroyed obviously for

[12:44] transparency if anyone does want to see

[12:46] what is being destroyed that is

[12:48] available at town hall or

[12:52] um I also wanted to thank the health and

[12:55] wellness as well if I remember stopped

[12:57] by she think a wheelchair like yep

[13:03] So, she was able to stop my invite

[13:05] exactly what she needed for my uh niece

[13:08] who had surgery. Very humble. Sean,

[13:11] super talkative, super helpful. And

[13:14] my sister Paul just

[13:16] glowing like I didn't know about. So,

[13:19] yeah. But very positive um interaction

[13:33] throughout the month. On July 29th,

[13:36] we'll spare a public outreach event. I

[13:38] got my new notice now. The event was a

[13:41] tremendous success with approximately 40

[13:44] residents attending in person and an

[13:46] additional 15 to 20 participating via

[13:49] Zoom. Based on the positive feedback we

[13:52] received, I plan to begin hosting formal

[13:55] Zoom question and answer sessions every

[13:58] other month. It has become clear that

[14:00] providing multiple avenues of

[14:02] communication and accessibility for

[14:04] residents has been very wellreceived and

[14:07] I look forward to continuing to expand

[14:09] those opportunities.

[14:11] Since assessment values were published

[14:13] on July 23rd, our office has experienced

[14:17] a significant increase in resident

[14:19] visits, phone calls, and general

[14:21] inquiries. While we have been extremely

[14:23] busy assisting property owners, the

[14:25] number of formal appeals filed has

[14:28] remained surprisingly low. I believe

[14:31] today this morning it was at 71. Last

[14:34] year at this time, we had over 200. In

[14:37] several cases, after meeting with

[14:39] residents and reviewing their

[14:40] assessments together, they chose to even

[14:42] withdraw appeals that already been filed

[14:45] because of their the questions and

[14:47] concerns were resolved. Um, when I wrote

[14:50] this, our appeal count was 45. Um, and

[14:54] at this point last year, we had a little

[14:55] over 200. Demonstrating the value of

[14:57] taking the time to educate residents and

[15:00] address concerns before they become

[15:02] formal fields is important. We are

[15:04] currently hiring for a temporary

[15:06] part-time field inspector. Again, I

[15:08] wrote this last week. We actually hired

[15:10] somebody yesterday. Um, he is beginning

[15:14] he will start on um Monday. That's to

[15:17] replace the two staff members we have

[15:19] that are going back to school in the

[15:21] next week. Um

[15:24] the

[15:26] position that's our current student

[15:28] employees are returning to high school.

[15:30] Um I continue to be extremely proud of

[15:32] the work being done by my team. Now that

[15:35] I have been in office for a full year, I

[15:37] can confidently say we have implemented

[15:39] many positive changes that have been

[15:41] greatly appreciated by the residents of

[15:43] your township. I appreciate the

[15:45] dedication and professionalism that my

[15:47] team demonstrates every day. Um, Lake

[15:51] County was uh recently appointed Nate

[15:54] Kurs as the new chief county adjustment

[15:56] officer. We've already began working

[15:58] together and have established a positive

[16:00] working relationship. I look forward to

[16:02] collaborating with him and seeing the

[16:04] positive improvements that benefit

[16:06] taxpayers throughout Lake County, but

[16:08] specifically your township. I would like

[16:10] to recognize our high school employee,

[16:12] Eli Turner, who recently celebrated its

[16:15] one-year anniversary with the township.

[16:17] Congratulations, Eli. Thank you for all

[16:19] your hard work. Um, unfortunately, this

[16:22] month also included an incident

[16:24] involving an industrial property owner

[16:26] who became a threat after I declined to

[16:29] reduce his assessment on his property.

[16:31] Following several threatening phone

[16:33] calls, township attorney recommended

[16:36] that we file a police report.

[16:38] Afterwards, Supervisor Wley um

[16:40] administrator Marcenia and township

[16:43] attorney and I have been discussing

[16:45] additional safety uh procedures and

[16:47] developing a plan for our office to

[16:50] better serve our residents during the

[16:51] appeal season. We have once again

[16:53] extended our office hours. Our first

[16:55] Saturday hours were held last weekend.

[16:57] We will be open again on Saturday,

[16:59] August 22nd

[17:01] to provide additional opportunities for

[17:04] residents. We had about uh between 10

[17:06] and 12 people come in last Saturday. And

[17:09] not related to my department, but I feel

[17:12] like it's important to recognize the

[17:14] number of times over the last month that

[17:16] I have noticed the mobile uh dental

[17:19] clinic here. I'm so happy to see the

[17:21] hard work of Director Marks and all

[17:23] health and wellness come to light. It's

[17:26] been really great. They were just here

[17:27] again yesterday, I believe. So, great

[17:29] job, Sarah. Um, and finally, I will not

[17:32] be able to attend the August committee

[17:33] of the whole meeting because I will be

[17:35] helping my daughter move into Michigan

[17:37] State University.

[18:41] also reviewing other outland uh areas

[18:44] that are in unincorporated area to make

[18:47] sure that they really are um township

[18:51] property to be maintained or other

[18:53] villages and

[19:05] tax department
