[0:03] Being one outcome to water, we'll begin with the invocation, but this is Grubs followed by the
[0:09] Pledge of Allegiance. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so, so very much
[0:16] for all the blessings that you share upon us each and every day. We ask that you be with
[0:21] our military, our police officers, all those that serve and protect. Please keep your hands
[0:28] up upon them and make sure they get home every evening to their family. Lord, I ask for
[0:34] special prayer for Officer Burnett's family as they go through a difficult time. Please
[0:39] be with them and give them some comfort. Lord, I also
[0:45] encourage knowledge and compassion
[0:49] as we deal with the business of the city. And I ask all this and your son, Jesus Christ,
[0:54] Precious name in the United States of America and the Republic for which it stands one nation under God and invisible with liberty and justice for our role.
[1:19] Good evening and welcome to our September 9, 2025 Council October 14.
[1:28] October, I was looking at the meeting.
[1:32] I was going a little bit ahead of my show.
[1:34] This is October, and it is 14th, okay, October 14th, me.
[1:41] We'll begin with the roll call, Lauren.
[1:45] Councilman Wade.
[1:47] Here.
[1:47] Councilwoman Bob.
[1:48] Here.
[1:49] Councilwoman Barnett Smith.
[1:51] Here.
[1:52] Councilwoman Grubs.
[1:53] Present.
[1:54] Councilwoman Tester.
[1:55] Here.
[1:55] Here. Councilman Mayot. Here. And Mary Lenhoff. Here. Okay. We have a quorum. First, our agenda
[2:06] are some councilmanents and some minutes from public hearing. Special meeting. First
[2:13] went up is the council meeting from September 9th. That's where I got that. 2025. I make a
[2:20] for approval of September 9th Council meeting minutes.
[2:25] Second.
[2:26] Any questions?
[2:28] If not, all in favor say aye.
[2:30] Aye.
[2:31] Opposed?
[2:32] Motion carries.
[2:33] Next we have the public hearing from September 16th.
[2:39] Make a motion for public hearing September 16th approval.
[2:43] I'll second that.
[2:45] Any questions?
[2:47] If not, all in favor say aye.
[2:49] Aye.
[2:50] Opposed?
[2:50] motion carries. Next we have a special meeting on September 16th. I make a motion
[3:00] we accept the special meeting. I second the motion. Any question? See none. All
[3:08] in favor say aye. Aye. Opposed? Motion carries. And last we have the caucus meeting
[3:13] from October the 7th. I make a motion for approval caucus October the 7th.
[3:21] Seconded. Any questions? If not, all in favor say aye. Aye. Opposed? Motion carried.
[3:29] We'll move on to the administrative report. We'll begin with the city attorney.
[3:34] Good news. We have not been through.
[3:37] We've been through, I think you see. That's better than the majority of the
[3:40] the system, Jessica, Katie, or Clinton, taxes, and we've got some code enforcement issues
[3:49] and we're prosecuting, we're going to be prosecuting those to get those things done.
[3:55] But everything's going pretty well from legal side.
[3:58] Chris has got me busy on some easements and things.
[4:01] I didn't want to do a lot of the job.
[4:03] I'm getting the city straight, so it's about it.
[4:06] Do you mind having a question for Mr. Rolf?
[4:09] Okay, move on to Public Works Director, Mr. Zairky's.
[4:17] Good evening.
[4:19] Most of our September was spent working back on Luke Lane.
[4:24] Luke and Brady.
[4:25] I think we have our last, like, 250 feet to tear out tomorrow.
[4:30] And then hopefully in a coming week, regular ass fall would be in there
[4:33] to mill and resurface at street.
[4:34] So it seems like our residents have been happy back there.
[4:38] We haven't had a whole lot of complaints.
[4:41] So it's not an easy project back there.
[4:43] It's such a limited amount of parking and it's gone pretty well for us.
[4:50] The other thing we're concentrating on is crack ceiling and maintenance area B.
[4:55] We're about probably 85% done with that.
[4:59] But East covered bridge drive and the little side streets off of it were just going to skim
[5:06] over and pretty quick.
[5:08] There's a private and already surfacing perimeter.
[5:09] I'm in the next couple of years due to the condition.
[5:12] We would probably put them 20,000 pounds if we had every crack back there so sometimes it's
[5:19] better just to hold off until it's resurfaced so we're not wasting money on those streets.
[5:27] but we will be doing autumn road also.
[5:31] I was walking some sidewalks back there,
[5:33] and I didn't notice that a lot of those street joints
[5:34] are starting to crack and unravel a little bit.
[5:37] So the best thing we can do for that
[5:40] is try to get those sealed up before wintertime.
[5:43] Keep the freeze and tall cycles
[5:46] from making those joints any worse.
[5:51] Once we finish up the lukin' variety,
[5:52] we'll kind of start a little bit of a transition
[5:55] and do our kind of fall and winter,
[5:57] but we do have quite a few blacked-up patches
[6:00] and repairs that we need to make before the clans shut down.
[6:03] So we'll be continuing to stay busy on the roads
[6:06] as long as we can.
[6:09] Anybody has any questions?
[6:10] I'd be happy to answer them.
[6:17] Thank you.
[6:17] Thank you.
[6:20] Okay.
[6:22] Next we hear Chief Wood.
[6:34] Good evening Mayor Council.
[6:35] Attached with my report, you'll find our activity report and investigative report for September of 2025.
[6:42] First item is going to be personnel.
[6:44] As we previously reported, October 1st, we had three officers retire, and
[6:51] we do try to replace those people.
[6:53] We interviewed about nine laterals to non-certified people in efforts to try to fill those vacancies.
[7:03] We were able to select two new officers, one being Brian Birch,
[7:07] she's a former sergeant with Edgewood Police, brings over 20 years of law enforcement experience,
[7:12] has a vast institutional knowledge.
[7:16] He aligns with our department's philosophy on community-oriented police.
[7:19] He's going to be a true asset.
[7:22] Next is Officer Jordan Cummins, he's a second generation officer from Williamstown Police,
[7:28] has seven years of experience, a very, very educated kid.
[7:35] In addition to his academic accolades,
[7:39] he holds multiple professional certifications,
[7:44] such as specialized training and accident reconstruction.
[7:48] He'll be the second reconstructionist we have on our agency.
[7:51] He's going to be a huge asset to your agency as well.
[7:54] We're currently negotiating with two certified people and two non-certified officers.
[8:01] We hope to fill that last vacancy by the end of the month.
[8:04] It's pretty promising.
[8:07] Next, I move to critical incidents.
[8:09] On Tuesday, September 16th, approximately two o'clock officers responded for an emotional
[8:14] crisis where a subject was trying to commit suicide by way of ingesting prescribed medications
[8:19] and efforts to overdose and self mutilation with the edge weapon.
[8:24] Thankfully, our officers arrived on scene in a quick manner.
[8:28] Access to the situation provided medical treatment, and
[8:32] ultimately, the subject was transported for a psychiatric evaluation.
[8:36] On Saturday, September 20th, officers responded to 36 Eastern Avenue for reported stabbing.
[8:44] Upon arrival, officers met a victim at the roadside with a significant
[8:49] last duration to his arm in hand, significant blood loss needed immediate medical attention.
[8:56] As the officers arrived, the female perpetrator fled into a woodline to a known homeless camp.
[9:03] We ultimately found her through the investigation we learned that the female had stabbed the male
[9:09] counterpart with a machete during a physical altercation, both subjects were under the influence
[9:15] It's a methamphetamines and we have charges pending when they come with the attorney's office.
[9:21] The last item on the critical incidents is Thursday, September 25th.
[9:25] Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Garbiendale for a suspicious person call.
[9:31] Upon arrival, officers located the individual in question.
[9:34] He's a known drug offender.
[9:36] As the officer got out of this car, the perpetrator charged the officer attempted to assault him.
[9:42] Thankfully, we're able to deal with the situation, take control of the situation and rest as personal without further incident.
[9:50] Thankfully that the backup was there pretty quick.
[9:54] Next is miscellaneous, our new Dodge Police Vehicles are being upfitted as we speak, all three vehicles should be here within the next two to three weeks depending of setbacks with equipment.
[10:06] It's crazy to think we're still dealing with the effects of COVID, but it's reality.
[10:11] Parts and equipment, it's a task.
[10:15] On grants, we have partnered once again with the Kentucky Attorney General's Office through a ballistics grant program.
[10:21] We've saved the city about $35,000 and obtained three ballistic vests, 19 ballistic helmets and two ballistic shields.
[10:30] A couple of months back, I guess a month ago, the incident occurred at Boone County where the deputies were shot
[10:34] out through the doorway.
[10:36] We have shields that take up that entire doorway that shine light up, or we can see and
[10:41] protect it at level three, which is a cycle rifle round.
[10:44] So I'm very thankful that we were able to obtain those pieces of equipment to protect
[10:49] our staff and our people.
[10:51] And again, I hope to have one of our officers bring that shield and bring that helmet so
[10:56] you guys can see that before we end the meeting tonight.
[11:00] Unfortunately, he's at the jail.
[11:01] So training, I hold training in a high regard, it's critical that we train often and we train
[11:11] effectively for our officers' preparedness.
[11:17] As a result, we spent eight hours, a full day of range training, shot about 500 rounds
[11:22] per officer, that's a lot of shooting.
[11:26] During the training we focused on high impact scenario exercises, precision shooting,
[11:31] active threat engagement, moving and shooting techniques, shoot, don't shoot techniques which
[11:36] are high liability areas of concern that we train on at least twice a year.
[11:42] And again, those exercises are to simulate high stress environments and enhance our officer's
[11:48] performance.
[11:50] We have very, very effective trainers on our agency that take it very seriously and very
[11:54] proud of what they do.
[11:57] And again, some other areas that we deal with is decision-making,
[12:00] de-escalation techniques that's high priority in our world that we live in.
[12:05] Tactical communication and officer safety and survival strategies.
[12:11] So, that's all I have from our report.
[12:14] Any questions? Yes, ma'am?
[12:16] That's a question.
[12:19] And not just naive, I thought we kind of had gotten rid of the encampments with the homeless
[12:27] people.
[12:28] I knew that the one behind the old place building and I kind of thought that was the last
[12:35] thing.
[12:35] Yeah.
[12:36] So we did eradicate the one behind the old police department.
[12:39] The one in eastern, it's been an ongoing battle for the last two years.
[12:42] Yes. We get rid of it and they come right back. The mayor, myself, Chris, other ally partners are working diligently to try to solve that problem.
[12:54] We have a lot of stuff on the burners right now to get those things under control. A lot of ally partners really step it up and take care of that and try to help that situation.
[13:04] I hope we get rid of it very, very fast.
[13:07] Okay.
[13:08] Is there, like, other ones?
[13:10] To my knowledge, it's the only one left we have in the city.
[13:13] I know it's an eye sore for some that live on Easter.
[13:18] It's been a-
[13:19] As much as an eye sore is the smell.
[13:22] Well, there's a lot of factors involved,
[13:25] but we're trying to deal with that situation.
[13:27] And we've got really good partners in the community,
[13:30] it's given us play by play, what's going on back there,
[13:32] and trying to help rid the problem as well.
[13:35] So I'm confident that we'll get the problem resolved,
[13:38] just takes time.
[13:39] Okay, thank you.
[13:41] Anything else?
[13:42] Thank you guys for your time.
[13:44] Thank you.
[13:47] Next on the list, we have city clerk Katie's report
[13:54] in your packet.
[13:55] Is anybody having any questions?
[14:00] Well, we know the property tax fills one out.
[14:03] Yeah, we got those, we all received them.
[14:10] That's why she's not here.
[14:14] Anybody have any questions?
[14:17] Okay, next we'll move to the city treasure.
[14:20] Jessica is here tonight.
[14:26] Good evening everyone.
[14:28] Good evening.
[14:29] I submit a written report in a dish.
[14:33] In regards to that, this time of year is about 25%.
[14:38] We're generally a little under at this point because we haven't collected any taxes yet, so that's fun, but we're not too far under, so that's good.
[14:46] As far as income wise, and the expense is under two, so that's good.
[14:52] And the only other thing I really have is we had audit field work done, at the end of the very beginning of October.
[14:58] They were here for...
[15:08] Thank you. Thank you. I had a question because we discussed the funds going out for the building. Yeah. Just to reassure that those funds won't be available for that project. So far, looking so good, looking forward to it.
[15:30] Good for early in the year, but it should it should play out well. Okay. Just chucking.
[15:36] Yeah, no problem. You already got her tax money. She's she's she wants you to have it. Yeah, you got my
[15:42] money. Before we move on, I like I think this year with the audit, that's the first audit I've seen
[15:53] where they're gone before I even get here and everything they're usually looking for a lot
[16:01] of paperwork, and Jessica, and Katie, the running to pick up stuff, didn't see that at all
[16:09] this year.
[16:10] I thought maybe we were in trouble, but she did such a good job that they were in and
[16:18] out, and my 15 years I've never seen them do that quick.
[16:25] Well, that shows that she knows what they're going to ask for, and it's already there.
[16:43] Okay. Next we have code and zoning. Should have a list there for Josh and also from
[17:01] I have yet to meet the person that's going, yeah, we need to, we would like to come and
[17:06] be that guy.
[17:07] Just one thing.
[17:08] I can have Josh come in.
[17:10] Yeah.
[17:11] I think he was a natural job.
[17:12] He was a job somewhere.
[17:14] Just somewhere.
[17:15] Yeah.
[17:15] Just somewhere.
[17:15] Yeah.
[17:17] Well, we meet monthly and usually it's made of chief Chris.
[17:24] Chris.
[17:24] Katie and we just go through everything. He brings in his pictures and so forth. And if we
[17:35] have any problem areas that he doesn't know about, we let him know. And then he actually
[17:42] has some problem areas that we didn't know about. So it is really, it is really good.
[17:48] interesting to hit him at a caucus meeting, just so he could talk about what
[17:54] improvements have been made, what areas we need to be working on, so on and so
[17:58] forth. Did that make sense? Yeah, I think we could do that. Yeah, we could we could
[18:07] probably do that. No, we paint, we paint, so I like when he's out on the street,
[18:15] but yeah he's a good kid but if the council doesn't want that no we need
[18:24] bringing in and he wouldn't problem that okay next we have wreck creation you
[18:34] should have a report in there yeah don't forget about the Halloween party October
[18:39] 25th from 46th and we're going to do some trumpet treat. So if you want to spot make sure
[18:47] you reserve it by over 22nd. Well, I don't know if you've noticed the sign that our
[18:53] church also helped her. I know. We're having the trumpet treat the very same
[18:58] evening. So if you know a couple of years ago we had it on the same and they just get
[19:31] Yeah, they're all basically down or by the first, and I think we're really putting in a report
[19:38] But we've had a couple meetings already about Christmas. I think we have another one this week or next week, but
[19:46] we've
[19:48] That was our first shot last year, and I think we've got some really good impermanence coming up this year that I think
[19:55] So we're having it here again. Christmas party. Yeah
[19:58] And we've got some extra things for not telling
[20:08] Okay, and last we have the community center and we have Lauren here, Lauren.
[20:16] So really the only thing I have for you guys outside of the report is I wrote down the
[20:23] wrong number of booked events for this year.
[20:26] So we actually have 43 events that have been booked from July through the end of this year.
[20:33] We are estimating about three at the previous year, so that's pretty exciting.
[20:41] And that's just a half a year, too.
[20:43] It is just a half a year, so we'll be looking at getting some more probably Christmas events,
[20:52] holiday events, book down there.
[20:54] We have a few people utilizing the space for Thanksgiving as well.
[20:57] And we do have the one group utilizing the Community Center every Saturday through the end of December.
[21:04] So that's pretty exciting, they've done two weeks so far and they love the space.
[21:09] So, that's awesome.
[21:12] And then Teresa has been continuing to do some really awesome programming up in senior services.
[21:17] Line dancing has been a very big hit.
[21:20] And she's continuing to work on getting some new stuff in there.
[21:25] That is all I have.
[21:26] Okay.
[21:28] Any questions?
[21:30] On these events that we also include, like when the chief has a chief's meeting or
[21:38] the mayor's group, those we are holding down there.
[21:42] We're trying to keep this room here, especially if Greg bosses walk around with food on the
[21:48] plate.
[21:49] Trying to keep this place pretty clean up here, so yeah, when she says that, we've taken
[21:54] I think it almost everything down there.
[21:57] I guess that chief meetings in the part apartment
[22:01] headed for two days for training down there,
[22:05] so it's being used.
[22:09] I just can't stress about how great
[22:13] I think that center is doing now.
[22:15] I'm just very impressed with all the activities
[22:18] that are being brought in.
[22:20] I mean, that's good for the community.
[22:41] Okay, safety committee, Lauren.
[22:44] Not a whole lot on safety committee this quarter.
[22:47] We met this quarter to go over a few incidents.
[22:51] Nothing really to report.
[22:52] work. Like I said, everything, their standard protocols were followed, but accidents do happen.
[22:59] No serious injuries. Everyone is recovered and back on regular duty.
[23:09] You might have any question for the safety committee.
[23:14] Okay, I need a motion to approve the administrative
[23:17] reform. I'll make that motion. Second.
[23:21] All in favor? Say aye. Opposed? Motion carries. For the mayor's report, just a few things and these are kind of piggybacking off some of the things that we've already had.
[23:33] I think the chief and I think Katie helped them out the retirement we had for the four officers. I think I was well organized. I think very professional.
[23:46] I think those guys will keep that in their minds for a long time.
[23:53] I want to thank you.
[23:54] I was really impressed by the retirement.
[23:59] While we're talking about retirement, the chief said we already have brought two aboard.
[24:05] He did mention a name, Jordan Cummings.
[24:09] If that sounds kind of familiar, it is Todd's son.
[24:13] It is?
[24:13] It is Todd's son. Yes. I think the chief called it second generation or whatever, but yes, Todd's son. I
[24:24] So and like I said, it's you know that I don't know a lot of cities could do what the chief has done because you know
[24:32] haven't four guys go out and
[24:36] within a month and
[24:38] to already have two replaced and he's kind of mulling around if he wants a lateral and then maybe
[24:44] since my academy or whatever but he's his reputation has brought some great people in here when he
[24:53] interviews them and so forth and hats off to the chief for you know not missing a beat you know
[25:02] you have four people down next thing you know we got two and we're debating on
[25:07] the next two and we got plenty to pick from so he's done a great job with
[25:11] that. The salt barn Chris and I we've you know because it's emergency and so
[25:20] forth we have believed two companies that are kind of looking at it and
[25:35] 7.30
[25:42] going to be there at 7.30 in the morning? Yeah, I'm coming. I've got to see this. I'm just
[25:47] not going to miss it. Yeah, but we have we have two companies and I believe they both
[25:53] well once coming on site tomorrow and the other got lost today was going to go to the site and
[25:58] went to the wrong place but moving forward trying to kind of get this thing going before you know
[26:05] the winter gets bad for the winter because there will be a lot of pressure on that old barn with
[26:12] the salt and then taking the salt out and that kind of adds to the maybe the hate to say
[26:19] it but the collapse of the barn itself so on and that community center just a little
[26:27] bit going back to the lawn they've done a wonderful job and tree salt so we've seen a pick up of
[26:36] the programs down there. It took her a while because she kind of kind of, kind of, I felt like she started from scratch, and she has done a really good job down there.
[26:48] You're starting to get some regular people down there, and she's got some great, great ideas, and she's going to places and getting ideas from other people.
[27:00] And it took her a while, but anybody would have taken more.
[27:05] And she's done a great job down there.
[27:08] The one I left off was Mr. Boss, and I have nothing to say about Mr. Boss right now, but I know.
[27:18] I'm on a roll.
[27:20] But anyway, anybody have any questions?
[27:23] Any questions?
[27:24] Hey, I brought him back safe and sound.
[27:26] Yes, sir.
[27:27] Yeah.
[27:29] Now, yeah, of course, my, I was attached to that thing, holding on to that thing for
[27:33] dear life.
[27:34] What made you say it?
[27:37] Oh, writing down with him.
[27:38] Okay, anyway, we'll move on.
[27:41] We have no general items, council reports.
[27:55] The only thing I have, and I know we touched base with this a few months ago, but electric
[28:00] scooters.
[28:02] I don't know if a city ordinance or what, but these kids are flying in and out on the streets.
[28:07] And I know we talk about it and kind of the law isn't catching up picking up, but when
[28:12] these kids are going to get killed just zipping in and out of the street on the sidewalk.
[28:15] And I'd hate to see it knowing that it's an issue and not bringing it up.
[28:20] So I don't know if that's something we can discuss, but these kids are fearless on these
[28:29] things.
[28:31] and they're going from sidewalk to crosswalk to in the street to back up and I saw
[28:37] a post earlier today about the Kroger parking lot which obviously that's
[28:41] now ours but I tune from school every day they're just they're moving and I
[28:47] is it do they stay on the sidewalk or are they supposed to be in the street
[28:51] there seems to be a very...
[28:56] Yes, it's neither.
[28:59] But it's every city is going through this right now.
[29:03] Every mayor has tried to figure out if there should be any kind of statue or anything.
[29:07] KLC is even become aware of it.
[29:10] And the legislative body is becoming aware of it.
[29:14] So they're going to have to do something.
[29:21] There's no vehicles we're supposed to be on the side.
[29:24] Yeah, but is that considered a vehicle?
[29:27] It is.
[29:27] It is, yeah.
[29:28] There should be a forest.
[29:30] I'll meet with the chief and see if we can get.
[29:34] A chief, chief.
[29:36] Yes.
[29:36] Why don't you and I sit down and see if we can come up with an order.
[29:40] Because I think there's, you know, specifically talking about scooters, I know.
[29:47] But actually they're riding on them, they're standing on them.
[29:49] Here it becomes a terminology issue.
[29:52] Anything so people can't wrap their minds around.
[29:56] The electric vehicle is still electric vehicle.
[29:58] It has a electric motor.
[30:01] Okay, same issue. His car is a electric car. He's got a bottle on the same rule as we do. In my guess, our view. That's where the issue's gone. They can get the same electric vehicle as in the car. Right now, it's very loose. They're in everything at a bicycle. So the laws are literally gone. And again, the one thing that we can attack it with is the city ordinance. We've had two people last three weeks get hit, literally.
[30:30] on our way to Council Day, a part of the state on bicycle at Garvey and Maine, these things are becoming more obstacles and more challenging for us to govern, we have to take that proactive approach.
[30:43] Yeah, because they do have the bikes that have the electric bikes too.
[30:47] Some of these electric bicycles were going on at the 36th of the week, two months, and an hour.
[31:11] Yeah,
[31:15] I have nothing at this time.
[31:23] The only thing I have is I attended a municipal government league of Northern Kentucky in September.
[31:32] And the meeting had a presenter mayor had her from Fort Wright.
[31:38] And he made us aware of a lot of the cyber security threats that the cities are going through.
[31:45] we did a great presentation. Very interesting. If you would listen to him, it would scare
[31:53] you to death, actually, about how they're attacking different areas, even small cities, you
[32:00] know, banks, different things. So, I know that we're looking at our cybersecurity and
[32:07] and stuff too in the city, but if you ever have a chance
[32:10] to listen to him present, he's excellent.
[32:16] They also did elections for the committees,
[32:20] the executive committees.
[32:22] They did round tables.
[32:25] And it was very interesting.
[32:28] They are going to be having another,
[32:31] so I think they're Andrew, dinner.
[32:33] I don't remember that date that was, that would be coming up anyway.
[32:43] That's all I had.
[32:47] Sure.
[32:49] Well, leave it or not.
[32:50] Everybody's been on vacation, so nobody had any complaints.
[32:54] They just said that the vacation was too short.
[32:57] That's the only complaint.
[32:59] That's a vacation went good, but it was too short.
[33:01] I would like to thank the Mayor Public Works, especially Chris and his crew.
[33:07] they cleaned out the little room downstairs of the old city building and
[33:12] delight the historical society moved in. Mr. Maya came over and helped out. We
[33:16] got it all moved in and we want to thank the mayor and Chris for doing all
[33:21] that work and stuff. We were very quick and swift. We got in there and got out. We
[33:26] did it very quickly. I don't know what I'm calling quick. It was quick. We got in. We got
[33:31] Yeah, we got in and out for Rusty.
[33:33] Yeah, for Rusty.
[33:35] Yeah, well, you know, we all have to sacrifice something.
[33:38] We do.
[33:39] And then I want to thank the chief and the police
[33:43] department for the last week that were being on vacation.
[33:47] A couple of your cops did a wonderful job
[33:50] by going up and down the street.
[33:52] And it took time to wave to the kids.
[33:54] The kids were like this.
[33:58] And the cops stopped the car and wave to them
[34:00] and talk to them. And May their day, this is what you mean by community, more
[34:06] community, and the kids love you guys. So please don't stop this because they love
[34:12] seeing you guys, they love when you wave to them, and when I remember the funny
[34:17] face to them and stuff, and they were like, they're human. They were, you know,
[34:23] they were engaging, you know, not only to the kid and they made a funny face and
[34:27] this kid's face just lit up.
[34:29] And the mother's standing there, this kid is happy,
[34:33] and he doesn't have nothing to be happy about,
[34:36] but at that certain minute, he was.
[34:38] So I want to thank you, please tell your officers
[34:41] not to quit this.
[34:43] There's a need to be more of it.
[34:45] Thank you so much.
[34:49] Maria?
[34:49] I just want to note that I was at a neighborhood function
[34:55] and our street became filled with smoke, and so when it was investigated, there was a family
[35:09] that were burning things in their backyard. They were immediately notified. There's a burning
[35:15] band, and so the fire went out, that the smoke filled everything. So just a note of caution.
[35:21] We do the burn van and please be careful with everything we have been in the rain. Hopefully we'll get some thing
[35:29] That's all
[35:32] All right, let's let's this time
[35:37] I do want to add one more thing on on my report
[35:42] Just an FYI because I did not know this when mr. Hatter did the presentation. He was talking about people writing
[35:50] checks and how thieves would take envelopes and wash the checks and meal. Well, I've found
[35:57] out that if you use a 2.7 pen, that cannot be washed papermate. So, I thought that was
[36:06] very interesting. I did not know that. So, if you are writing checks, you need to make
[36:12] make sure you write a check with that 2.710 and then you won't be too worried about
[36:19] people if somebody would steal the check, they can't steal the check, and that's all.
[36:29] I know the bank gives the bear pens, don't they?
[36:32] Well, they give them to Jessica and I steal them.
[36:35] Are they that kind?
[36:37] Yes.
[36:38] Are they?
[36:38] There's a specific check rate.
[36:39] Yes, great. So I just thought that was really interesting because I do write checks so.
[36:45] Because one of the few years ago we had that happen here in the city and I could deal with all of that.
[36:52] And that was tragic and awful.
[36:54] So I said, no, write the piece.
[36:57] Yeah.
[36:59] That was it. That's all my report I transferred.
[37:03] I just wanted to mention that.
[37:04] That talk was very interesting.
[37:08] We'll make a motion with a adjourn.
[37:10] No.
[37:15] was going to be quiet and you'll see if it went through.
[37:19] We ain't going to do this right now.
[37:22] You know, that's so quiet.
[37:25] Well, that 2.7 pan was just, you know, it was great.
[37:28] We could have ended on that.
[37:31] I have it.
[37:31] Okay, I'm eating this month.
[37:33] I look forward to the next one.
[37:34] and should it be having a county PDS, meaning coming up next month in November as well.
[37:41] I like to talk to people, and so I try to rely on to talk to people in the city.
[37:46] I like to think that the city personnel, the interactions that they've had with all the personnel here has been great.
[37:52] As Jessica, I'd like to say any audit that goes three days is great.
[37:56] You know, it's them all the time, so kudos to you, and then Chris also people are pleasantly pleased
[38:04] with what's been going on in the city with infrastructure they see your guys
[38:08] aren't there working hard so that's great and chief the sentiment of the
[38:13] residents that I spoke to they said they feel safe living elsewhere so good
[38:17] job that's all sorry go ahead sorry I'd like to make a motion we adjourned
[38:29] All in favor say aye.
[38:32] Aye.
[38:32] Aye.
[38:33] Aye.
