- Meeting is called.
[6:25]
The order we have is the Town.
[6:27]
I'm Darius Thompson, vice Chair pulling for Jonathan Ring,
[6:30]
who's traveling and making memories wherever he is.
[6:33]
That's great. I'd like everyone to introduce themselves.
[6:37]
It's a little warm today for me,
[6:39]
but everyone introduce yourself
[6:40]
to my, I'll start to the right.
[6:43]
- Okay. I'm the regional Representative
[6:47]
- Barry.
[6:48]
Member Anna Razer. Member Don Bristol. Member.
[6:52]
And Darren, what I, we'll be back
[6:58]
Jen on Jen on Zoom.
[7:00]
Yeah, Jen. And then the room with us.
[7:01]
We have Peter Finch, Amtrak retired. Excellent.
[7:06]
That makes two of us Amtrak retired. Awesome.
[7:09]
And I, my lovely wife Kathy. Hi, Kathy.
[7:14]
Gonna try to do it. Alright, super.
[7:17]
Do you have any comments from the public?
[7:21]
See that there are none. We'll go with the
[7:25]
second agenda item, which we will review the minutes
[7:28]
of the previous meeting.
[7:30]
The budget was submitted.
[7:31]
And is there any questions, updates, corrections,
[7:35]
errors, omissions?
[7:38]
None here? Nope. Okay.
[7:40]
Seeing none, I would accept a motion to approve the minutes.
[7:44]
I motion that second motion has been seconded.
[7:50]
Any discussion? All those in favor? Aye. Say aye. Aye. Aye.
[7:55]
Aye. State, you abstain because I wasn't here one abstain.
[7:59]
And we have some motion
[8:01]
passes to accept the minutes.
[8:05]
Aye. Welcome. How are you? Very much.
[8:07]
Would you like to introduce yourself?
[8:09]
I'm Scott Bogle with Rockham Fund. Excellent. Welcome.
[8:12]
Glad you're here. The next agenda item is the plan,
[8:16]
New Hampshire drawing ette design rep
[8:19]
program August 7th, eighth.
[8:20]
Celebrate success. I believe
[8:22]
the thank you letter has finally been out and posted.
[8:26]
Yes. Thank you, Jen. Yes, Jen, thank you so much.
[8:30]
- My pleasure. - We appreciate you. Thank you.
[8:34]
I know a lot of work went into that.
[8:35]
And if we've forgotten anybody,
[8:37]
please accept our thanks in advance
[8:40]
and please let us know if we did forget you, we'd like
[8:42]
to acknowledge your participation.
[8:46]
- I just wanna comment on that.
[8:48]
I, I'm just wondering if Natalie Bogot,
[8:50]
the Nepro representative was Thanks. Was she the
[8:54]
- List?
[8:55]
Natalie Bogart. Okay.
[8:58]
- I can, I can check - Was
[9:03]
- In there.
[9:04]
Okay. So, okay, Alice, I'll,
[9:07]
- I can check while, while we're talking.
[9:08]
- Okay. Thank you. Okay. Super.
[9:12]
Any other discussion questions regarding that? No.
[9:16]
To, okay. Hi Doug. How are you? Hey, good, Doug.
[9:20]
Good morning everybody. Everybody, you're here.
[9:25]
Yes sir. You're here. Safe's, some matters. Okay.
[9:30]
So Wanda, the big topic of the day is rail safety awareness.
[9:34]
This week, which is coming up next week,
[9:37]
I think Anna, you will see on the table.
[9:39]
I wanna say a quick thank you
[9:40]
and shout out to our absolutely OOI state rep Jay Rhonda
[9:45]
for meeting me on Saturday.
[9:47]
And he provided all this materials
[9:49]
and things that we can hand out, put together bags.
[9:52]
It's not, it's not enough for everybody,
[9:57]
for every kid, but it's enough to get some information out
[9:59]
so that we can utilize whatever's here.
[10:03]
We'll put together bags and we can hand 'em out
[10:05]
or put them in different stores and give them out as kids.
[10:07]
You know, join next week. Thank you. Thank you.
[10:10]
So without further ado, Anna, the floor is your,
[10:13]
- It's great.
[10:14]
Well, I'm excited to keep pressing on this topic
[10:19]
with all the discussion we've had around safety.
[10:21]
It's a very grave topic. We've been very somber.
[10:25]
But I also wanna acknowledge
[10:26]
that the training brings a lot of people, a lot of joy.
[10:29]
We, we see that every day with the passengers
[10:33]
and people who go out
[10:34]
and hunt down certain engines they wanna follow
[10:37]
and learn about or document.
[10:39]
So I just want to give a shout out to all the real fans
[10:42]
and others who take
[10:46]
such joy, pride in the tracks.
[10:49]
So I sent out a couple of things
[10:52]
and I'll just go through them.
[10:54]
First, I sent out kind of a list of kind
[10:56]
of little hanging fruit things we could do next week
[10:59]
for Rail Safety Week.
[11:03]
First on that was asking the select board
[11:06]
to proclaim next week the Town's Rail Safety Awareness Week.
[11:11]
And Dan sent me a message,
[11:14]
they're gonna make the proclamation on Monday.
[11:16]
So they did it Monday. Did they read it in?
[11:17]
Yeah, Dan gave a nice dramatic oration of,
[11:22]
of the proclamation, which I thought was lovely.
[11:25]
I have it here if you guys haven't had a chance to read,
[11:28]
we'll look at it on the town's website too.
[11:31]
So that's exciting.
[11:35]
The next thing I have, we discussed a letter
[11:37]
that we can send to educators.
[11:43]
It might be something we can adapt to be relevant for,
[11:47]
to send to other organizers.
[11:50]
Not so we don't have to have separate drafted letters
[11:52]
that go out in short, reminding folks to
[11:58]
be safe around tracks.
[11:59]
But in particular, drawing attention to art projects,
[12:03]
essays, any or sort of projects
[12:08]
that might seem attractive to do on the tracks,
[12:10]
but are actually not safe.
[12:12]
So I drafted a letter for that.
[12:15]
It's a, it's a, a letter with one of the Operation
[12:20]
Lifesaver flyers.
[12:22]
So essentially a two page PDF. I'll pass that around.
[12:27]
It would be nice to get some edits on it either here
[12:30]
or in our by email.
[12:34]
It could be nice to just get that.
[12:37]
- Could you explain talking about like what they did on the,
[12:42]
the building there with the, I don't understand what,
[12:47]
- This is a letter from the
[12:54]
train station committee.
[12:55]
Okay. Advocating for safe behavior
[12:59]
and practices around tracks.
[13:01]
Specifically going to educators, teachers, organizations
[13:05]
that might encounter students who are gonna say, go out
[13:09]
and do a photo project on perspective.
[13:11]
A rail track is a classic example
[13:13]
of a perspective study in, in art. It's an east
[13:17]
- Oh, I see what you're saying.
[13:18]
Okay.
[13:20]
- So a reminder to the, to them
[13:22]
to share with their students.
[13:24]
That's a good idea. In, in light of this,
[13:27]
this week's safety awareness motives.
[13:31]
Don't do that. Yeah. So maybe my letter's wordy.
[13:35]
I only took one stab at it.
[13:37]
I'd like to refine it
[13:38]
and I think it'd be nice if we could send it out.
[13:40]
I'm not sure if it is signed by the train station committee
[13:44]
or Jonathan or
[13:46]
- Cohort.
[13:47]
I think it would be best if we,
[13:48]
if we just put a generic for train
[13:50]
- Station committee, the committee.
[13:51]
That's kind of what I was leaning towards.
[13:54]
Feel free to mark that up.
[13:55]
Circulate it around. Especially with
[13:57]
- The school being as close to the track. So,
[13:59]
- Yeah.
[14:00]
Yeah. And we have a list in my notes, probably in our,
[14:04]
our notes too of possible recipients, our teachers,
[14:09]
the academy, maybe other departments.
[14:14]
SAU,
[14:17]
- This is great. Below it,
[14:19]
- Get the word out and then,
[14:24]
oh, to driving school educators.
[14:26]
We'll send the same letter to them too.
[14:29]
And that's where I, my request
[14:32]
for advice on consolidating it.
[14:34]
So it's kind of a single letter that's adaptable
[14:36]
for these different purposes.
[14:41]
I think we should send a press release
[14:43]
about the town's proclamation.
[14:45]
Okay. I don't have the capacity to write a press release,
[14:49]
so I'll ask for help on that.
[14:52]
Or a volunteer. And then the other,
[14:58]
well there's a couple small smaller things.
[15:00]
One is the fire department offers a monthly
[15:08]
CPR and a EP training.
[15:11]
So they can schedule us a special
[15:13]
session just for our group.
[15:14]
It wouldn't be until January.
[15:16]
And we can do it on a Thursday. Maybe on a Thursday.
[15:18]
That's not our meeting. We've discussed that here.
[15:22]
But I'm also gonna just get the monthly schedule in case
[15:25]
those of you who want to get
[15:26]
that training can do it on your own time in any month.
[15:30]
It doesn't have to be a coordinated
[15:33]
training just for this group.
[15:35]
It can be, but it doesn't have to be.
[15:40]
And along with that, Darius, we are gonna check on
[15:45]
Operation Lifesaver training. What
[15:48]
- Does that, yes.
[15:49]
So in order to become a volunteer for Operation Lifesaver,
[15:51]
you have to fill an application that gets submitted
[15:54]
and then you would actually get scheduled
[15:56]
to take an online course to do that.
[15:59]
So if you're interested in wanting to become a volunteer,
[16:01]
you have to go through the process, submit like it's a
[16:04]
answer, questions, un fill the application,
[16:07]
answer questions, submit it,
[16:08]
and then you would be scheduled
[16:09]
for an online training or interactive training.
[16:12]
And then you could become a volunteer
[16:15]
adhering to the principles.
[16:16]
So I also put in a request for our next meeting,
[16:19]
which is on the third Thursday of October, the day
[16:22]
before one of the greatest days of my life.
[16:25]
So our birth, my birthday's on the 16th,
[16:27]
we're having a meeting on this 15th, 15.
[16:29]
So I put a request to have a presentation either virtually
[16:33]
for all of us and attendance so
[16:35]
that we can see what that is.
[16:37]
So we start to prepare for next year.
[16:39]
And then if anyone's interested, well become a volunteer.
[16:42]
It's on the, I can get you the link,
[16:44]
but it's on their website.
[16:45]
You fill out the application
[16:46]
and go through that process to take it.
[16:48]
Course. Also, if anyone is interested in
[16:53]
becoming a state rep for New Hampshire,
[16:56]
that's also a potential,
[16:57]
but it does require a lot of volunteer work.
[16:59]
It's doesn't pay anything.
[17:02]
But if you ever really have a further interest in wanting
[17:04]
to get more involved with Operation Lifesaver,
[17:06]
they are looking potentially for someone to take over
[17:10]
as a current person that's looking to step away.
[17:13]
So just for awareness, if anyone out there this is wrong,
[17:17]
wants to, if wanted wanted
[17:20]
to interest an Operation Lifesaver, wanted
[17:21]
to become a trainer in that part, then you know, reach out
[17:26]
to us and we'll get you connected.
[17:30]
- Is that online training something?
[17:31]
We, we would watch the presentation next month if it,
[17:35]
if we schedule, if we, yeah.
[17:36]
And then we would do it online on our own
[17:38]
time. Is that how that works,
[17:40]
- Ibel?
[17:41]
I'm not quite certain of that,
[17:41]
but I believe it's a A specific course
[17:43]
that they walk you through.
[17:44]
Yeah. Whether it's instructor led
[17:46]
or if it's virtually virtual.
[17:49]
Right. Recorded. But the, the biggest part is you have
[17:51]
to fill out the application, submit that in,
[17:54]
and then it gets reviewed.
[17:55]
If it's approved, then you'll be
[17:57]
able to schedule take the course.
[17:59]
- Yes. One, one correction on this,
[18:02]
this year we'll have our 2000000th writer.
[18:04]
Thank you. Yes. No, did you write that?
[18:07]
And this is the 25th year.
[18:09]
See, this is why I brought this to you. Yeah. Okay.
[18:12]
- You wanna make the notes on that? Yeah.
[18:13]
- Okay. I'll be write it up. Thank you. Yeah, sure.
[18:16]
- Your letter looks good. Yes,
[18:18]
I think it's indeed it's concise enough.
[18:20]
You know, I would, with the small edits here,
[18:25]
I think it's good to go.
[18:27]
Okay. As far as the press release goes,
[18:29]
I think we could borrow from the town.
[18:30]
Yeah. Regarding the proclamation. Yeah.
[18:33]
Just, you know, can we share that on the Chamber website
[18:37]
or can we borrow from the town
[18:38]
and then we can post it on our website as well. Yeah,
[18:41]
- I, there's any problem there. Yes.
[18:44]
- Yeah, we can definitely - See
[18:47]
- As far as getting something out into the
[18:51]
- Right - There.
[18:52]
Wonder if that's too long to go, like letter it
[18:53]
to the editor to put out for next week or we're too late.
[18:55]
- That's a good idea. I,
[18:58]
- I mean, I can send it to the same folks I
[19:00]
sent the thank you note too.
[19:02]
- Yeah, that would be helpful if we,
[19:04]
I think we're in agreeance letter looks great.
[19:06]
If we can get that out later today, get that to Jen
[19:09]
and then we can get that out.
[19:11]
That'd be wonderful. We can add the Brian's colleague to
[19:15]
- Thank you.
[19:16]
List note to her too. Yeah,
[19:19]
- Well that, what that, so the, the letter that the letter
[19:24]
about the Charette already went out.
[19:28]
I can change it on our website,
[19:30]
which will change it in our weekly chamber happenings.
[19:33]
And that'll go out on Monday.
[19:36]
But, so, so I can change it there. Perfect.
[19:41]
I I I wouldn't wanna send it a second time
[19:44]
'cause I don't wanna get, I don't want it to get lost
[19:46]
and can, you know, with, with two
[19:48]
letters coming in from folks
[19:49]
- Fully understand.
[19:50]
- Perfect. - Okay.
[19:53]
Anna, I wanna say a awesome thank you for
[19:57]
putting this all together.
[19:58]
Yeah. And continue this along because it's important to me
[20:01]
and to you and to everybody.
[20:04]
I just, we can't do enough to help educate everybody.
[20:08]
So anyone that is,
[20:11]
and we're gonna put some of these in the various bags,
[20:14]
hopefully put in some of the different locations in stores.
[20:17]
Just a little, it's a little ruler has
[20:18]
information that, this is a reminder.
[20:21]
Again, I can't thank enough Jay for kind of raiding the,
[20:24]
the closet that he had.
[20:26]
'cause typically the stuff he would pay for,
[20:27]
but he was able to give this to us.
[20:29]
So please,
[20:31]
there's some key chains, there's some whistles and other stuff.
[20:34]
I like the members to take some with you
[20:37]
and hand them out if you have an establishment
[20:40]
or if you'd like to have a bag,
[20:41]
we can drop 'em off this like a little litter bag
[20:43]
and put the card just as a reminder.
[20:46]
And this is another bag our kids
[20:47]
and there's some coloring books and there crowns, pens
[20:50]
and also in the lobby there
[20:54]
and these little things here.
[20:56]
I think it's nice for anybody that's riding the train.
[20:58]
Oh, that's cool. We can give them out.
[21:01]
If no one takes anything today, then I will gather things up
[21:04]
and then I'll plan on being there on Thursday or Friday.
[21:08]
I won't wear red, I'll be wearing black.
[21:09]
But to be at the train station
[21:12]
with a table and hand things out.
[21:14]
- I know that Brian's put plenty on coming on the
[21:16]
25th, so he'll be here.
[21:19]
And his goal, he's right there. Oh. Oh, Brian. Hi Brian.
[21:22]
Hi Brian. Say Brian and Okay, I'll let him speak
[21:26]
for himself since I see he's out there.
[21:29]
- Hi. Thank you all. Karen Appreci you for this link.
[21:33]
So just while we're talking on this Yeah, it is RA's
[21:38]
desire to be there Friday, next Friday
[21:41]
for red out the readout day.
[21:45]
We also have materials
[21:46]
and I think to really amplify the message,
[21:49]
if we could coordinate to both the train committee
[21:54]
with your materials as well as Nera, myself
[21:57]
and Natalie will be there to, to find a great location.
[22:01]
Yeah. Preferably a little bit more visible
[22:04]
than just a train station.
[22:06]
I, I don't know, I thrown out some ideas of maybe could we
[22:10]
table up by Jerry's in that little plaza, that little tree?
[22:14]
Yes. Park area.
[22:16]
- Yes. We own that. We own that. So yes, you can,
[22:20]
- That that would be a great place to have a table.
[22:22]
Plus you're getting potentially, if we're there late enough,
[22:26]
maybe you get some of the school children coming through
[22:30]
because we also have the little bags
[22:32]
with the, the information in it.
[22:34]
So that, that's kind of our thought is
[22:37]
that if we could look at Friday to kind
[22:40]
of be a bigger push than,
[22:41]
than sprinkled throughout the week.
[22:43]
Well I do know Josh Roberts from Amtrak Police is planning
[22:47]
on touching base with each of the police
[22:51]
departments along the corridor.
[22:53]
He's got some information that he's gonna be handing out.
[22:56]
'cause their day is,
[22:58]
Tuesday is law enforcement is first responders day.
[23:02]
And so I know he's canvassing all of that.
[23:05]
So yeah, if, if that's something we could do, Darren,
[23:08]
I can shoot you the times that
[23:09]
we're thinking of being down there.
[23:11]
We really were looking at some train time,
[23:14]
but also there's some downtown there
[23:16]
that maybe we'll just get regular walk calls.
[23:20]
We're definitely locked in for next Friday.
[23:23]
- So what, what time?
[23:26]
- So let's see, looking at my schedule here,
[23:33]
Probably what we're thinking is covering a time
[23:36]
for basically
[23:37]
11 33 3
[23:44]
because we have a, a train that comes through
[23:47]
at 1 0 9, 12 59, 1 0 9,
[23:51]
and then three o'clock.
[23:54]
So we could technically get three train times as well
[23:59]
as just some, some general time.
[24:01]
So I believe, and I'll,
[24:03]
and I'll confirm this with an email from Jared,
[24:06]
I believe Natalie and I are planning to eight down in
[24:08]
that area for 1130.
[24:11]
And then if we can canvas between 1130
[24:13]
and three o'clock, you kind
[24:15]
of spread ourselves around that timeframe.
[24:17]
That, that might be a good mix of times. Then people,
[24:21]
- Do you need anything from us,
[24:22]
like a table chairs, things like that?
[24:25]
- I think we'll be all set with tables.
[24:27]
So I, I don't believe so at this point Darren,
[24:30]
just permission to stand where
[24:33]
we would be is probably the best thing.
[24:34]
We need to make sure that nobody yells at us
[24:36]
and scoot just away. But
[24:38]
- I, I'll handle that.
[24:40]
I'll have it. All right. So look forward to seeing you at
[24:44]
- 11 15 4, 11 30, - Not 11.
[24:49]
I say 1115 for me to be there early on time, so, yeah.
[24:52]
Alright. So
[24:53]
- I appreciate, I really appreciate the effort everyone
[24:55]
coming in and the real focus
[24:59]
on talking about real safety.
[25:02]
We do this all the time,
[25:04]
but we are always amazed at the lack of awareness.
[25:07]
And I really do think it takes individuals like yourselves
[25:11]
to, to make it real and to actually have people listen.
[25:16]
Sometimes they say, oh yeah, you're just betrayed.
[25:18]
But when you have folks that are really impacted
[25:21]
and knowledgeable about it, I,
[25:24]
I think it makes a lot more sense.
[25:25]
Your peers are better than someone talking at. Right?
[25:29]
- Yes. Thank you. Well thank, thank you Brian.
[25:31]
You're always such a big help. We really appreciate it.
[25:34]
I connection and I don't know if you were on earlier, Brian,
[25:37]
but I just wanted to acknowledge
[25:38]
that Jay was very helpful in providing this information.
[25:41]
Our state, the state rep, all that stuff. Yeah,
[25:44]
- That's awesome. That's great.
[25:45]
- Yep. - Did did NRA get a copy of the proclamation?
[25:50]
- Oh, we can make certain we, we give it to him. Okay.
[25:53]
So Brian, where is that one? Around? Yeah,
[25:59]
- It's on the town's website for the select board meeting
[26:01]
- On, right.
[26:02]
I don't know if you could see this or not, Brian.
[26:04]
I, I'll send it to him too, but we'll send this to you.
[26:06]
The town of New Hampshire, town of Ter, New Hampshire
[26:10]
C Tracks think train week.
[26:11]
So they made a proclamation that the town also supports
[26:15]
September 21st, 27th, 2026 of,
[26:20]
you know, sea track state training week.
[26:22]
So the whole town is behind.
[26:24]
This is like, we'll make sure you get a copy Darren,
[26:27]
I'll send it to you, but just wanted to show it with you.
[26:33]
- And the other thing on, on, on the list of contacts along
[26:36]
with the schools, I always want to include first student,
[26:39]
the bus company goes oh, crosses. Right. So,
[26:43]
- So first can be on that list.
[26:45]
Good idea. Yeah. Anna, where is that on?
[26:48]
What about LC Anna, where's the website
[26:53]
- On the select board packet? For
[26:56]
- The packet agenda?
[26:58]
Page six. It needs to go on our, on our, yeah. Got it.
[27:02]
I'll take that too. Thank you. Yeah.
[27:05]
So is there anything else that we
[27:06]
- Was more, yeah, I do have, there's one more kind
[27:09]
of the final bullet point on my list
[27:10]
that I sent out by email.
[27:12]
I'll just print it out so I'll pass it around. Number seven.
[27:14]
If you guys just wanna scan through, this was my proposal
[27:18]
for social media over the next week.
[27:20]
It's ambitious 'cause I outlined every,
[27:22]
the theme for every day.
[27:23]
We don't have to do all that. I know we've got,
[27:26]
we're doing kind of at capacity, what we're capable of.
[27:29]
That said, I did tell Bob who's been on vacation
[27:32]
and I was moving offices,
[27:33]
but I would assist with making some social media
[27:36]
content on that.
[27:39]
Number seven. I kind of highlighted each
[27:41]
of the theme themes for those days.
[27:44]
I can, I can help write one for the, the initial one
[27:47]
and asking the proclamation
[27:49]
and the rail safety awareness week
[27:53]
and the one for Friday.
[27:57]
But if, if others want to take on
[28:00]
or collaborate with me to make more so we can have more
[28:03]
of a, a blitz style.
[28:06]
We don't need to do a a lot of creation.
[28:09]
There's a lot of images and logos
[28:11]
and stuff from the OLI website.
[28:14]
But we can just pass on and write some key words to go with.
[28:20]
So I just wanna add, I'm, I'm, I'm able to do a couple
[28:23]
of those content things for, for Bob.
[28:27]
But if anybody else wants to step up
[28:29]
and round that out, we can explore more of those themes.
[28:35]
- So does Bob have this or? Yes. Okay.
[28:37]
So in other for us to do, is there, are we looking
[28:41]
to our own personal capacity
[28:42]
or are we looking to do it with a,
[28:44]
we we have a social media account.
[28:46]
- Well, no, Bob would post it to the town. Okay. Account.
[28:49]
We're just helping him fill in to, to get the content
[28:54]
because it's a short, short turnaround.
[28:56]
- Right. And that's all. And he's,
[28:57]
- He probably cannot create all
[28:59]
of his content himself over the next couple days
[29:01]
- Where it's hard to pre-pack.
[29:02]
It's, we're just borrowing from
[29:03]
and it's a, I think we don't need to,
[29:06]
I don't think we need to add any language to it.
[29:07]
Just borrow what the hazards, like throw it out there.
[29:10]
So it's, it's like plug and play.
[29:12]
So I think that that's excellent.
[29:16]
Can you send me the proclamation?
[29:17]
'cause it's, it's in the packet.
[29:18]
Yeah, but it's in the whole entire packet.
[29:20]
I can't pull that piece out. Okay. Okay.
[29:22]
If you that it to me. I'll get it on this.
[29:23]
I'll get it to Brian. Sure. I'll get it on on our website.
[29:27]
Is there anything else that we should be doing?
[29:29]
You can think of?
[29:31]
- I want to, I was just looking at
[29:33]
and the schedules that Brian coming down,
[29:36]
but we have two trains in the morning
[29:38]
that are commuter trains
[29:39]
and two trains in the evening
[29:41]
that come back that are fully loaded.
[29:44]
These are commuters.
[29:45]
They're probably not the ones we worry about
[29:47]
to being out on the tracks,
[29:48]
but they could take home messages home
[29:50]
to their families as such.
[29:52]
So is there an opportunity here
[29:53]
that we should be covering on those four trains
[29:58]
- And how would we do it?
[29:59]
I'll turn that over to you. I,
[30:01]
- I cannot, so again, we, yeah, we have material.
[30:03]
We have some materials that
[30:04]
they're bringing materials as well.
[30:05]
I'm sure we have some left over.
[30:06]
So if there's some I plan on being there on Friday to help,
[30:11]
you know, support the
[30:12]
- Way I can.
[30:13]
Is Bob, there's myself working, there's you in
[30:15]
- Soda?
[30:17]
- I can So what, what, what time is it in the morning?
[30:21]
- Last quarter? Six 30. - Six 30. Six
[30:23]
- 30 and then 30.
[30:24]
Yeah. And then 8 39.
[30:26]
- 8 39. So, and then five o'clock and then
[30:29]
- I could do 6 30, 39.
[30:31]
- Yeah, - I can do six 30 and I can do 4 54 too.
[30:35]
The one back from Boston. So they
[30:37]
- Hit some additional coverage.
[30:39]
- Yeah. So six 30 on.
[30:41]
Is there anything we can put up in the,
[30:45]
in the little glass case
[30:47]
- We can find them.
[30:48]
What I'd really like to see is a banner.
[30:50]
So way we can get a banner real safety week, some kind
[30:53]
of across the,
[30:56]
- That's short of us making one.
[30:58]
So I'm not aware of a banner. Okay.
[31:03]
We'd have to make one or get one, you know, from 'em. So
[31:07]
- It's pretty short notice.
[31:08]
- Yeah, short notice. Yeah. - But anything can be done.
[31:11]
- Anything Nepro might have that might,
[31:14]
would, is there any kind of,
[31:17]
- I we're already using other location.
[31:19]
- Oh, okay. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. We're we're
[31:21]
- Gonna be up at three court as well that day.
[31:23]
- Oh, okay. - I I I would just kind
[31:26]
of point out if you're gonna hit the morning two trains,
[31:28]
you really don't need that hit the afternoon.
[31:30]
Right. The evening trains.
[31:32]
'cause you're hitting the same people. Right.
[31:33]
If they're going down on the six 30. That's a good point.
[31:36]
Either coming home or 5 45, excuse me.
[31:39]
Four,
[31:43]
whatever impact there.
[31:45]
If you're, you're hitting two in the morning,
[31:47]
you don't have need to hit the two in the evening.
[31:50]
- Very, very good point.
[31:52]
And since my comment
[31:53]
before, they're not the
[31:55]
ones that are gonna be on the trades.
[31:57]
Probably the two afternoon ones they hand out
[31:58]
because they could take that material home.
[32:01]
Right. Whereas if they go south on it,
[32:03]
it's probably gonna end on trash.
[32:05]
Yeah. Yeah.
[32:06]
So as they come off the train in the afternoon, the,
[32:09]
the two trains in the evening probably
[32:11]
be better to hand those out.
[32:12]
Okay. Okay. Yes. Covered the last two I think.
[32:16]
- Scott, question Scott? Yes, go ahead. Yes,
[32:20]
- Two thoughts.
[32:21]
If there's interest in a banner, you can get a,
[32:23]
a good quality two foot by six foot banner at stables
[32:28]
for $90 turned around in 24 48 hours.
[32:34]
And I don't know if there's been consideration of trying
[32:37]
to get something up on the
[32:40]
display board in front of town hall.
[32:43]
We used to do that for bike to work week
[32:46]
- Rock thing.
[32:47]
So that we'd have to get something that will fit.
[32:48]
We have to get two things printed
[32:51]
and if we do anything that, so question Brian on the banner
[32:56]
that you have, it doesn't have a date on it, correct?
[33:01]
- No, it's just an operation lifesaver band
[33:04]
banner for the, for the most part.
[33:06]
It's not a specific to
[33:10]
train week or anything like that.
[33:12]
I do know that the Operation Lifesaver website does
[33:15]
have graphics, right.
[33:17]
That you could either print just the print posters
[33:21]
or have posters printed
[33:23]
that could be put up in your various locations
[33:26]
or I mean obviously could go to safety,
[33:28]
buy a banner if you wanted to do that.
[33:31]
- Okay. Alright.
[33:32]
We just buy a banner
[33:34]
and it's not like it's going to waste,
[33:36]
I mean we can use it every year during this Correct.
[33:39]
This train safety week. Right.
[33:41]
So, so that's what I was thinking was getting something
[33:43]
with the official, so I'll take that action
[33:46]
to get a banner made.
[33:47]
I'll get it made and it'll be generic
[33:49]
so we can use it every year after year after year.
[33:52]
Yeah, I can pay for it. Okay. I, I can pay outta my budget.
[33:54]
I can pay for it. Well, thank you very much.
[33:56]
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I got a big banner then. Get what?
[33:59]
You get 12. Oh, perfect. That's,
[34:04]
- I think on Friday's post we ought to mention
[34:06]
that Brian's gonna be there with the table.
[34:07]
Explain what that table's all
[34:09]
- About.
[34:10]
Right. And I, I think, you know, you're sitting over there,
[34:14]
but I I think you're part of the committee.
[34:17]
I do. I think you're rockingham's. He is now.
[34:20]
He's rocking him. Okay. I've never
[34:22]
planning commissions are just sitting.
[34:23]
But you can always sit at the table. It's fine.
[34:25]
You we're, we're here have a, I know if you're,
[34:28]
that's we're, we're an open, it's like it is like,
[34:32]
it is like Jen Representative Chamber.
[34:34]
Right. He's representing Rockingham Planning.
[34:36]
Always sit at the table. I come up here.
[34:37]
If you're there, it's fine. Thank you. We have one.
[34:43]
So just thinking ahead for next year, we do this kind
[34:47]
of here, let's start thinking ahead of
[34:50]
what we're gonna do for next year.
[34:51]
Like an event, maybe an event.
[34:53]
Let's put a little more planning behind it.
[34:54]
Let's, let's look at that.
[34:56]
And I think what we have, it's a good way
[34:59]
to, to carry it forward.
[35:00]
But maybe there's something we can do not just once a year,
[35:04]
but maybe once a quarter.
[35:07]
So the other thing that I wanna share as far
[35:10]
as rail safety awareness is the blue sign
[35:14]
that is critical for not only first respondent,
[35:17]
but for anybody that's listening.
[35:19]
If you're sitting at the tracks
[35:21]
and you're waiting for the trains, man, what's the train?
[35:23]
Just look around and see if you can find the blue sign
[35:26]
and read what it says.
[35:30]
That if in the event that something happens,
[35:32]
you can actually call the number on that sign
[35:36]
and then you give the information what's under that sign
[35:38]
and that will go to dispatch
[35:40]
and they can take immediate action.
[35:42]
So if nothing else,
[35:47]
whenever you go across a grade crossing
[35:49]
or coming upon one look to see if you're stopped at it.
[35:51]
I want everyone in the public to see,
[35:53]
can you find the blue sign?
[35:55]
If you find the blue sign, take a picture
[35:57]
and then email it to, to the committee.
[35:59]
We'd love to see your pictures. Are they there? Oh yes.
[36:03]
Every crossing. Every crossing has a blue sign. Yeah.
[36:06]
Every crossing. The challenge I put out to the public is
[36:09]
to find the blue sign, take a picture,
[36:11]
post it on social media, post on Instagram with the hashtag
[36:15]
of operation lifesaver
[36:18]
or hashtag train station committee.
[36:21]
I found the blue sign. Great. Great.
[36:26]
Is there anything else, Anna, that we missed?
[36:28]
Okay, you get that message to like teachers and educators.
[36:32]
That's a good idea. Yeah, that's good marketing.
[36:35]
We can add that to the Yeah. Letter.
[36:39]
Brian, have you ever heard of that before?
[36:41]
Like find the blue sign.
[36:44]
- I I mean I time,
[36:47]
but I heard a kind of a
[36:51]
game. I think it's a great idea.
[36:53]
- Alright, cool. - Just what,
[36:56]
what does it say on the blue sign?
[36:57]
I know it has the phone number. What does it all say?
[37:00]
- Well, I don't know from memory.
[37:02]
I just, the signs emergency and emergency.
[37:05]
That's a crossing number.
[37:07]
As a crossing number. Yeah. And the
[37:10]
- Dispatch number call. So
[37:11]
- In the name of the street.
[37:12]
- Yeah. So here's a thought.
[37:13]
Perhaps this is in CS x's baggage somewhere,
[37:18]
but how about a second sign below that that is in red
[37:21]
and the colors we want that says stay off the track.
[37:27]
Just a real eye catcher that says stay off the track.
[37:30]
Hazard danger, whatever it is
[37:34]
that they could post right below,
[37:35]
- You know.
[37:37]
So this, so that blue sign is FRA regulation that
[37:41]
- Required? Yeah,
[37:41]
- I don't think it allow any, no, nothing else post.
[37:43]
But what it says, it says report problem
[37:46]
or emergency 1, 8, 0, 0 and it has x, x, x
[37:50]
and then crossing number is usually it's
[37:54]
whatever the ditch they, you know,
[37:55]
8 3, 6 5, 9, 7 H whatever, and X, y, z railroad.
[37:57]
So it tells you the railroad, the CS, X, you know, so
[38:00]
that specific location, we'll go to dispatch
[38:03]
and they will be able to Yeah, got it.
[38:04]
Take care of that. So, but
[38:06]
- I just, I just throw this thought out.
[38:07]
- I think the identity is pretty good.
[38:09]
I I find the sign a little small.
[38:16]
Do you have a dimensional thing?
[38:18]
It doesn't say what the dimensions of it are,
[38:20]
but I, it says I find it very, I mean,
[38:21]
it's like this big Right?
[38:23]
Third or fourth car back's not gonna be able to read it.
[38:26]
Yeah, that's right. Not gonna be able to read it. Right.
[38:28]
Third or fourth car back. Yeah.
[38:29]
Somebody who bikes all the time. I,
[38:31]
I am always at a railroad crossing coming back into town
[38:34]
and it's amazing when the, when the train has stopped
[38:37]
and loading or unloading, it's sitting there
[38:42]
and people on main, we'll use Main Street for an example
[38:46]
that they know the train's not moving.
[38:49]
And these kids on these, an electric bikes
[38:52]
and stuff like that, they're like looking up the truck
[38:55]
with trains sitting there.
[38:56]
They just go right across here. It's like, dude,
[38:59]
- And that's trespassing
[39:00]
and you can arrest them if you happen to be in
[39:02]
that position, they won't do it.
[39:04]
They will do it for buses or fuel trucks.
[39:06]
They will stop you and they will arrest the driver.
[39:09]
- Right. So not - Necessarily here, but other
[39:12]
- Location.
[39:13]
But I mean it's, I I, you know, it's, I don't, I don't know
[39:16]
how you, how you add anymore.
[39:19]
I mean, we're all, you know, intelligent people and
[39:23]
- As pure socialization. Exactly.
[39:26]
- You're right. - That's,
[39:27]
that's we're trying to get out. I think
[39:28]
- That - Brian put it right when he said,
[39:31]
just talking about it Yeah.
[39:33]
Bringing these conversations. That's all he trying to do.
[39:34]
Right. To the forefront. Yeah.
[39:35]
- Yeah. Okay.
[39:38]
So, so I have something I wanna bring up
[39:41]
if you don't mind at some point,
[39:42]
because I want you to get through your,
[39:44]
is it related to rail safety?
[39:46]
Yes. Is it related to rail safety week?
[39:51]
It's rail safety. Okay.
[39:53]
It's about a crossing that, you know,
[39:56]
and this has always bothered me even
[39:58]
and you bring up the academy
[40:00]
and I know the academy kids love to go
[40:04]
to the end of Parkway.
[40:05]
The parkway and there's a trail,
[40:08]
and it's not just a trail, it's a maintained trail
[40:12]
that goes up to the tracks, goes over the tracks
[40:15]
and then to the conservation lane.
[40:17]
Yes. I think we're all aware of it.
[40:20]
I mean we played there as kids, but it's, it's still there.
[40:24]
I mean, and I don't know if it, it used to get a lot of, lot
[40:28]
of traffic from the academy kids.
[40:31]
That was their place to go and, and party, you know,
[40:34]
or by the rock out by Fort Rock.
[40:37]
And would it make sense to put a sign, something like
[40:42]
that there?
[40:44]
Or would we, by doing that, would we be saying to people,
[40:48]
Hey, doesn't there's a, a trail, let's go try it out?
[40:53]
Or do we just not say anything?
[40:55]
I mean, it doesn't seem to be as much of a,
[40:58]
- It's, it's problem.
[40:59]
It is, it is decreased. The use
[41:01]
- It has, it is, is decreased. Because I
[41:02]
- Think if you don't know where this is at the end
[41:04]
of Swayze Parkway, if you go the end of Swayze Parkway,
[41:08]
turn left to go back into town, just as you finish the turn,
[41:11]
you look up, there's a path that runs.
[41:13]
- Right. I think it's an easement.
[41:15]
- Yes. Probably, probably not. - No, I
[41:18]
- Don't think so. No.
[41:20]
- Not over the tracks. All
[41:22]
- Over the property. Who owns the property?
[41:24]
- Dr. Just walked - By. Probably Dr.
[41:28]
- V. Dr. Vaughn. Thank you.
[41:30]
- There's where I would start is ask Dr. Vaughn
[41:32]
- To put a no trespass sign down there.
[41:35]
Close it. Lock it. Okay.
[41:38]
Well I guess my thing is, I I'm not so sure that we can do
[41:42]
that, but anyways, she could do it.
[41:46]
There's another one. There's not legal easement there
[41:48]
on the Rose Farm trails.
[41:49]
Oh yeah. Goes of the tracks. There's another one.
[41:51]
Well there's private gray crossing,
[41:53]
but the Rose Farm has theirs.
[41:54]
This is not the Rose Farm. No, no.
[41:55]
I'm, I'm telling him there's another one he doesn't know
[41:57]
about that probably know his room knows about.
[41:59]
I probably know every one of 'em out
[42:00]
- There.
[42:01]
The private grave crossing, you know where that is? One.
[42:03]
- So the one at the parking lot is another one that,
[42:07]
you know the parking lot after you go into the train bridge.
[42:10]
Yes. There's place where people go and hike
[42:12]
and I'm not sure, but I think there was a dog hurt there.
[42:15]
No, someone was killed. Something person was killed.
[42:17]
Person killed
[42:20]
- Was - Killed.
[42:21]
Her dog got spooked and Right. And the dog. Yes.
[42:23]
So let's, so maybe, I mean these places, could we post that?
[42:28]
I mean, there's no signage there at all. I mean,
[42:31]
- It'd be up to the town
[42:32]
and be away from Yeah,
[42:33]
the railroad has some signs you'll see
[42:35]
from Boston and Maine.
[42:37]
Yeah, they're very limited.
[42:40]
- Thank you. So here's here's the,
[42:42]
the bigger, bigger things.
[42:43]
The one Oh no,
[42:46]
if you see track tracks think train period, it end the story.
[42:48]
Oh yeah, yeah. If anyone is
[42:51]
walking along the tracks, there's an no trail.
[42:54]
Oh, there's nothing here. Don't do it. Just don't do it.
[42:57]
We know that. It's just, we gotta get the word out. Right.
[42:59]
So this is what we'll, we'll continue to do.
[43:01]
That's why I suggest we start doing something,
[43:03]
this committee, just to get once a quarter,
[43:06]
get something about rail safety out as a reminder.
[43:09]
But do you think by putting a sign there just,
[43:14]
and I don't know, I mean I can't read people's minds,
[43:16]
but do they, would that
[43:21]
create curiosity?
[43:23]
I don't think, you know what I'm saying.
[43:24]
- Think sign encourages abuse. Okay. If that's what
[43:27]
- You're asking.
[43:28]
Yes, I did, you put it perfectly.
[43:31]
- And I think it's probably - A,
[43:33]
- Maybe a question to take to DPW to start.
[43:37]
Yeah.
[43:40]
- How about first inventorying, any go past?
[43:44]
Hey Dan, right here's fine cabin.
[43:49]
I, I I didn't want, wanna interrupt the agenda?
[43:52]
So let's, let's, I'm trying to button this up real quick.
[43:55]
You have an inventory or known locations of where these
[44:00]
trails, unofficial trails may exist.
[44:03]
And if so, if we don't have it, then we should,
[44:05]
and then two, should we bring that to the select board
[44:08]
as something to consider
[44:10]
and for, you know, further,
[44:13]
further signage
[44:15]
or, you know, basically we have, I don't want this.
[44:18]
Lemme say get, so the point is that we have some, we have,
[44:23]
we know where some areas where people cross the tracks.
[44:25]
Got it. Right. There are some traditional,
[44:28]
not traditional trails that people made.
[44:30]
There was an incident where a dog owner, the dog got spooked
[44:34]
and you know, she got killed.
[44:35]
Dog was not good.
[44:37]
So again, what I say is a general rule is
[44:40]
that sea tracks think train don't
[44:42]
cross the tracks no matter where.
[44:43]
Right. But is there's some responsibility upon the town
[44:48]
to post signage.
[44:50]
That's what Doug is at post signage to say, hey,
[44:53]
train tracks don't cross or something of that nature.
[44:56]
And does that put us at liability risk for that part?
[44:58]
That's for the select board to decide.
[45:00]
Well, the, so different locations,
[45:02]
the issue is they're on private property
[45:05]
and so I don't know that select board
[45:07]
to have like any jurisdiction to,
[45:09]
to do something like that on private property.
[45:10]
Maybe Brian could weigh in on that.
[45:13]
I mean, but also the tracks. The CSX has the right of way.
[45:17]
Correct. If we could reach out, yeah, they could do that.
[45:19]
If we could reach out to CSX
[45:20]
and say, Hey, can you place some signs along the way,
[45:22]
that might be another option.
[45:23]
Yeah. And they could, so for sure.
[45:25]
That's, let's see if we can Okay that.
[45:28]
- But they're not going to do that
[45:30]
- Right - Down you guys,
[45:35]
they, they're not likely to add any additional assignments
[45:38]
to what they're mandatorily required,
[45:40]
federally required to post.
[45:41]
So, you know, they have thousands of miles of track
[45:45]
that if they agreed to put a sign every, oh yeah.
[45:48]
Someone wanted to, they're, they're on the hook.
[45:51]
I mean, you gotta talk with your landowner.
[45:53]
Landowner should post it.
[45:55]
If there's pathways that are crossing
[45:58]
or bringing you up to an area you should talk
[45:59]
to whoever's the landowner, they should post it
[46:02]
and they should identify it as a non, not a place to go.
[46:06]
If it's public property, then certainly you want
[46:08]
to make sure and, and you can post
[46:12]
and say that, you know, pass this sign you're trespassing,
[46:15]
you know, and or, or,
[46:16]
or what have you, what what you would like there.
[46:19]
So I mean, I, I know it's frustrating to understand it,
[46:22]
but it's the reality of, of it, you know,
[46:27]
I don't know how you can post your own property
[46:30]
and if you want to, you can do that, you know,
[46:32]
but then you gotta post it every 10 feet
[46:34]
before someone actually pays attention.
[46:35]
So I think I I agree
[46:38]
and appreciate the thought of posting these kind of things.
[46:42]
I think you need to work with a particular landowners
[46:44]
that are, are incur, are encouraging
[46:47]
or experiencing the, the use of that property,
[46:52]
then that does go over to the railroad tracks.
[46:58]
I know that's not a great answer, but it's the reality of
[47:00]
- It.
[47:01]
Right. Thank you Brian.
[47:02]
That really answers my question about CSX
[47:06]
and they're not doing it.
[47:07]
So, so the two things real quick,
[47:12]
back to rail safety week on the 25th, the location
[47:16]
that Darren's trying to show on the screen,
[47:18]
I don't know if you can see this in the room.
[47:20]
Can, can you see this, Brian? You see us at all? No.
[47:24]
So we're not sharing the screen, so Oh, we're not.
[47:26]
Oh, I'm sorry Brian. Alright. So if you wanna be,
[47:28]
if you're looking at Jerry's
[47:30]
and you're standing in the middle of the,
[47:31]
of the road on Lincoln Street, you wanna be just
[47:34]
to the left on that, on that kind of island that's there.
[47:37]
That's where you want be, be set up, correct?
[47:39]
- Yeah, exactly. That new nice little plaza area. Yeah. Got
[47:42]
- It on the sidewalk.
[47:43]
Yeah. Anna,
[47:45]
- I just feel like it'd be a great location.
[47:47]
I, I like being on the platforms,
[47:49]
but then we're not really getting the walk bys, passerby.
[47:52]
Got it. And that's who we're really concerned about.
[47:54]
- You'll you'll be central so
[47:56]
that the kids will see you too.
[47:57]
Like you pointed out that the kids coming
[47:59]
out of school will see you as well.
[48:01]
- That'd be great. - Alright. Say done. Cool.
[48:05]
- I, I was gonna suggest to close the loop on this signage
[48:08]
and private town, other owner property.
[48:13]
Perhaps we push that out to next year.
[48:16]
What we're doing this in the next two weeks is really PSA,
[48:20]
like public safety announcements communication.
[48:23]
So if we approach that same question with that
[48:29]
in that way, with that strategy, perhaps
[48:33]
there's a flyer
[48:34]
that can be available at the town clerk's office along
[48:37]
with other flyers like how
[48:38]
to promote rail safety on your property, for instance,
[48:43]
and take a more, not a,
[48:49]
I guess it's a lighter touch than, than going directly
[48:51]
to a single property owner
[48:52]
and saying, Hey, can you sign this?
[48:55]
Correct. Make the information available.
[48:58]
- The, the bottom line on all this is the
[49:01]
education is the key.
[49:03]
I mean, we, we have to reach out.
[49:04]
We have a whole generation of young people
[49:07]
that have just automatically just seen the train, you know,
[49:10]
come to Exeter now and 25 years it's been running
[49:15]
and people just take it for granted.
[49:16]
I think it's another, another toy like almost
[49:19]
it's always gonna be there.
[49:21]
And, and, and for example,
[49:25]
taking pictures on the rails.
[49:26]
I mean that is so asinine to,
[49:30]
to have a photographer actually set up
[49:32]
and take graduation pictures on the rails.
[49:34]
It's done. Yeah. That's an education thing. Pictures, yeah.
[49:37]
Kids, parents letting their kids put pennies on the rail.
[49:42]
The parent steps down. The kid steps down.
[49:45]
That's an education right there that's happening.
[49:47]
That's negative. We need to correct that.
[49:49]
That's the step that we need to correct at the crossings.
[49:54]
I mean, people think that, oh, the gates are down.
[49:58]
Oh, there must be something wrong with it. Go around it.
[50:00]
That's wrong. The gates are down, stay there
[50:02]
and and don't do anything.
[50:04]
Go, go up a different way.
[50:06]
I mean it's, education is the whole key to this.
[50:09]
We just have to keep working at it.
[50:11]
- We could set up a, a table during town meeting day.
[50:15]
A lot of people go in there then. Yeah.
[50:17]
What about just putting a big splash in the exit
[50:20]
newsletter on the front page?
[50:22]
I mean, you know, some people still do read the paper. Yes.
[50:28]
And just that would be a headline.
[50:30]
I mean, I, I'm not a, I could talk to Grace person, do it.
[50:34]
You know, you have Jen actually is,
[50:36]
or somebody has contacts with those people
[50:38]
and just, just make it a huge headline
[50:41]
that the town has adopted.
[50:42]
The rail safety,
[50:47]
the proclamation, pro proclamation.
[50:49]
I mean that should be a headline.
[50:50]
- Yeah, I agree. Good - Job Dan. Right? Yes, Scott.
[50:54]
- I was just gonna say, could something go on the variable
[50:56]
message board on Portsmouth have at the
[50:58]
intersection of Holland Way?
[51:00]
- That's exactly, I mean that would be a safety message. So
[51:04]
- We have one on the other side of town too. Yeah,
[51:06]
- I think we do.
[51:07]
- Can we So put a new roundabout. Hold on. So Darren,
[51:12]
- Hold on.
[51:13]
Hold on, hold on. Bring a chair. Popcorn.
[51:15]
- Could you look to see if the sign, the electronic signs
[51:19]
that we have in the roundabout and come in
[51:21]
and the town from both ways, right?
[51:23]
Yeah. If they could put in the method of rail safety week.
[51:28]
Can you guys gimme the language you'd like
[51:30]
to see while we're here? It has to be short, right?
[51:34]
- I like the headings. - Just the heading. What's that?
[51:36]
- What Real safety rail safety rail safety
[51:39]
and also sea C question
[51:43]
mark train.
[51:45]
- So real safety rail safety week C tracks
[51:51]
- Trains.
[51:52]
- Think Trains. Think trains. And
[51:53]
- There's a question mark after c tracks.
[51:55]
Right. And it might be late to ask the schools to do
[51:57]
that on their displays for this year, but next year.
[52:00]
True. We should dentist.
[52:05]
- So we got a couple other general items to get through.
[52:08]
We have less than 15 minutes, so we will go quickly.
[52:11]
Sorry about bringing that up. That's okay. That's fine.
[52:14]
That's, there's nothing more important than
[52:17]
safety and rail safety.
[52:18]
Yeah. Period. I know. So yeah, it's, it's fine.
[52:23]
The one year goal is accept working any
[52:25]
accessful working groups.
[52:26]
I don't think we have any. So that will go, we'll continue
[52:29]
to work on that for our next meeting.
[52:33]
Status. State of good repair grant work.
[52:35]
I believe we had update last time. Things were good and
[52:38]
- Anything No, no change.
[52:40]
No change. We, we, we are updating the needs for well
[52:44]
- Ahead.
[52:45]
One change there is is
[52:46]
that the agreement has finally been signed between
[52:49]
Deborah and the town.
[52:51]
Okay. And we have a commitment from the town to
[52:55]
continue on with the, with the items on the platform.
[53:00]
- Excellent. Yeah. And so, so for the town, thank you.
[53:03]
And to Nepro Thank you. And Bob, thank you. Thanks.
[53:07]
Alright. We did receive no correspondence. There's none.
[53:12]
Is there any other business, any items,
[53:13]
topics for discussion?
[53:17]
You went from we have 15 minutes to like done job.
[53:21]
No, that was awesome. Wow. So we have 15 minutes to it.
[53:23]
No, no, I just, that was awesome.
[53:25]
Did we get through that Suzanne?
[53:26]
Boom. Perfect. Alright. I like it.
[53:29]
Okay, so our next meeting is the 15th of October from
[53:33]
11:00 AM till 12:00 PM One moment if we,
[53:38]
if I get confirmation we're having a presentation,
[53:40]
that meeting may expand a little bit.
[53:43]
So until I get a confirmation
[53:45]
that we're gonna have a presentation from OLI, we'll stick
[53:49]
with that time, but it could
[53:50]
adjust to be a little bit longer. Go ahead.
[53:53]
- The, the final report of the charette
[53:57]
may be out before our next meeting.
[53:59]
Probably be out at least the next one.
[54:02]
And so there's, we've very rightfully spent a lot
[54:06]
of time talking real safety.
[54:08]
But we need to come back to the results
[54:11]
of that, when that comes in.
[54:12]
The focus being on what, what will happen in the upgrades
[54:16]
or whatever eventually for the railroad station.
[54:19]
- Okay. - That has to be our, one of our top goals and
[54:23]
- Our goals.
[54:24]
Absolutely. Okay. And then
[54:29]
the other thing, just future agenda items
[54:30]
that just tenure.
[54:34]
This is some notes. School board link
[54:36]
share, overflow parking request.
[54:39]
Our budget committee when our budget was submitted. Right?
[54:42]
For a thousand? Yes. Okay, cool.
[54:46]
And I think that's about it on the 25th.
[54:48]
So reminder of the 25th anniversary, that down Easter is
[54:52]
- December 15th, - The 15th
[54:54]
and December, 2000, 26th, 25th anniversary.
[54:57]
Yes. We'll have over 2 million riders.
[55:00]
- Well, we're in the ballpark. I can't say exactly when,
[55:02]
- But okay.
[55:03]
- We are, we're getting close. - Alright, so
[55:05]
for the lucky 2 million rider, will they get a prize?
[55:09]
- A trip on the train? - Double double
[55:13]
prizes in the record.
[55:14]
Start Just start Sunday. Sunday. That's a great idea.
[55:19]
Actually, you can start this week if you want.
[55:21]
Marching. No, I don't think so.
[55:24]
- If you wanna do something, I don't know how, how
[55:26]
- Specific we, yeah, so just so clarification for
[55:31]
our note taker, just talking with Darren, that I'd like
[55:35]
to have this message start tomorrow
[55:38]
to help promote rail safety week.
[55:39]
So sh should I say rail safety week?
[55:41]
Like week of or something like that? Or whatever.
[55:44]
It's just rail rail safety week. Yeah. 21st. 21st or 27th.
[55:49]
Yeah. 9 29 21.
[55:51]
2026 through, you know, 9 27. 9 27.
[55:55]
Yeah. Or 9 21. That,
[55:59]
- So we're talking about that, that that little
[56:02]
- Right? Yeah.
[56:03]
- Yeah. I would just, I mean the, the main point is
[56:07]
to get the idea, Bob, what you would always say is,
[56:11]
or Darius seed tracks thing training.
[56:15]
Yes. I would just, I would just leave it simple.
[56:18]
- Yeah. So, so just those words. Seed tracks thing. Train.
[56:21]
No, don't stay rail safety week. Yeah. Yeah.
[56:23]
- I, I mean is that the, I mean the, the point
[56:26]
of the message is to, we want people,
[56:28]
I mean, that's the takeaway.
[56:29]
Yeah. Okay. I think it's less about the
[56:31]
time and more about the message.
[56:33]
- Is that Yeah, that, that's fine.
[56:35]
As long as it just runs from that's,
[56:36]
- That's just my suggestion. Yeah.
[56:38]
- Yeah. It runs from the, tomorrow through the 27th. Got it.
[56:45]
Got it. Cool. Any other topics, questions, suggestions?
[56:53]
Bueller? Bueller a big thing to,
[56:58]
to Anna bringing this all forward.
[57:01]
Yeah. And, and Jen for everything.
[57:07]
So Dan, I got some, I know there's more stuff coming,
[57:12]
but would you like to take some of these as bookmarks?
[57:14]
So the bookstore? Yeah, sure. Question mark.
[57:18]
Just take what you want.
[57:19]
I'll just take a pen and dish them up. Yeah.
[57:23]
Some of this other stuff we'll hand out.
[57:25]
But in the box there, there are key chains.
[57:30]
And they're little whistles. Yeah. Little tiny whistles.
[57:34]
Yeah. Blood. That's yours you bought. There you go.
[57:37]
Oh, I want one. I want one. There's two though.
[57:40]
There's, yeah, there's a big, that's a bigger one
[57:43]
that makes it a, sounds like a train.
[57:44]
Makes train. Right.
[57:45]
But these are things that I'm sure Brian,
[57:47]
you're bringing something similar.
[57:50]
Okay. So these are some things
[57:51]
that we can hand out or we will hand out.
[57:54]
Or if you back to school. Oh, that's a good one.
[57:58]
That's the one. So any,
[58:00]
you have places you'd like, place some of these out.
[58:04]
You can place some of them out.
[58:05]
If you wanna take a couple bags, take bags with you.
[58:08]
Otherwise I will bundle of them all back up
[58:11]
and they'll be out on Friday at 1115.
[58:15]
And the location that's been identified, 1103.
[58:18]
Thank you, Mr. Vice Chair. Thank you. Cool. Brian, anything?
[58:25]
