[1:56] being here. I know Keith, also a member of our Chamber of Commerce, and I do

[2:01] want to just reflect um and first say thank you so much for being here

[2:05] tonight. It means a lot. And thank you again for the opportunity to connect

[2:08] with you and your membership yesterday. Um and something that I'm going to be

[2:12] sharing more with the community during my board report. But, uh, when we think

[2:15] about the organizations that help Glendale Heights, um, thrive, that will

[2:21] help move us from a a sense of survival to a sense of thriving, the Glendale

[2:25] Heights Chamber of Commerce is one of those critical organizations that

[2:29] highlights the um, businesses and the work that they're doing every day to

[2:33] support our communities. Um, La Rosittita uh, is not just a small

[2:37] business in this community. It's it's a um a business that uh supplies not just

[2:43] food, but a a safe space and um delicious tacos. Delicious tacos. Um

[2:50] thank you so much for being here. Um and to the other businesses who aren't in

[2:54] attendance tonight, but but um are part of the membership. Again, uh when we

[2:59] think about the growth at Glendale Heights and the trajectory that this

[3:01] board wants us to have, we um we are excited to do that in partnership with

[3:06] the businesses um and with the Chamber of Commerce. So, thank you again.

[4:08] other towns as as um advanced as we were with getting our trucks out there and

[4:16] group, your team is just amazing at what they do. But 18 hours, I was actually

[4:20] mind-b blown when I heard 18 hours.

[5:10] change one thing? And they wanted a bigger water park, Keith. You know, that

[5:14] was the [laughter] big thing. It was a bigger water park and more things for

[5:18] them to do. Um, and I also went to the DuPage Mayor's Managers Conference and

[5:23] it was a great dinner. Connected with a few people. Uh, made some good

[5:26] connection with Nycore Gas and stuff. So, it was a great time. Thank you.

[5:36] those who celebrate uh and looking forward to a blessed Lenton and Ramadan

[5:41] season, uh, many blessings to you and your family as we enter that special

[5:45] season. Um, I want to start just by acknowledging what uh my fellow trustees

[5:49] have said. The meeting at the uh DuPage mayors and managers conference was

[5:54] important for us to be in attendance at um because they really talked about

[5:58] important legislation that's taking place in the state of Illinois that will

[6:02] have an impact to us at the local level. So, um, though it might seem removed,

[6:07] it's important that we as a governance board stay up to-date and up to speed on

[6:12] what's happening in Springfield, um, so that we can make sure that we're

[6:15] advocating on, um, what what we believe to be the right choices for our

[6:20] community. Um, I also want to just say, uh, it was a really, um, great

[6:25] opportunity just to sit around a table with this board, um, and and break break

[6:30] bread, right? And just, um, connect in a positive way. So, thank you um to the

[6:36] board for coming. That was very special. [clears throat] Finally, I want to talk

[6:39] a little bit about the chamber meeting that took place last night. Um there

[6:43] were I I want to say 10 businesses in attendance. Did I get that maybe right?

[6:48] Ranging from La Rosittas to Sunrise Chevy. I I don't want to list them all

[6:52] because I'm going to be afraid I'll miss somebody. Um but uh Merlin Merlin's

[6:57] Mufflers I want to say was there. Um Winrust off the top of my head. There's

[7:02] several others. um Big Blue Swim School was there and really community. The

[7:08] importance of this is business owners, business managers getting together in a

[7:11] room talking about the challenges of holding o um having a business here in

[7:16] Glendale Heights and what is it that we as an organization, what can the village

[7:20] of Glendale Heights do to help our businesses um not just stay open, right,

[7:24] but but have the um the growth that they desire, right? Have the outcomes that

[7:29] they desire. It was a really uh interesting conversation. Uh took turns

[7:34] that I didn't expect, but also came right back to anchor to our why. Why

[7:38] we're here. We all are here to serve you um the public. Whether you're sitting up

[7:43] here on this board or you're sitting in the seat as a member of the Chamber of

[7:46] Commerce, everyone has the same why. It's for the people in our community.

[7:50] So, um I'm excited about this partnership and looking forward to um

[14:49] introduction, for those of you who do not know me, my name is Jessica Maric. I

[14:53] am a recreation supervisor uh at the Village of Glendale Heights in the

[14:58] recreation division. In this role, I have the privilege of organizing many

[15:02] community events and programs that bring our residents together in meaningful

[15:06] ways. The program I'm here to talk about tonight is our Valentine's for veterans

[15:11] program. As just proclaimed by the mayor and the village board, February 8th

[15:15] through 14th is recognized as Glendale Height in Glendale Heights as National

[15:20] Salute to Veteran Patients Week. This week gives us a meaningful opportunity

[15:24] to honor and express gratitude to the men and women who have served our

[15:28] country. The Valentine's for Veterans program

[15:31] invites residents and members of the surrounding area to send a message to

[15:35] one of our many veterans. The words written on the cards may be simple, such

[15:40] as happy Valentine's Day or thank you, but the message behind them is

[15:44] incredibly powerful. Each card is created with the intention of reminding

[15:48] the veteran who receives it that they are thought of, that they are loved, and

[15:52] that they are truly appreciated. I would like to take this opportunity to thank

[15:56] everyone who participated in the program this year. We received hundreds of cards

[16:01] and I still have some on my desk that I need to organize. Uh, I would also like

[16:06] to give a special shout out to the groups and organizations that took part

[16:10] in this program, including Markwood School District 15, Queen B School

[16:15] District 16, Glenbar District 87, Kowanas Club of Glendale Heights,

[16:20] Glendale Heights Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Glendale Heights Sports

[16:25] Sub Preschool and Path Program, and members from the Linda Jackson Center

[16:29] for Senior Citizens. All of the cards received will be sent to various

[17:00] One special card that I would like to share with everyone is

[17:05] this giant card from the students at Glenbard North. The school created one

[17:11] large card filled with signatures. >> Of every student that participated in

[17:31] from even more students that participated in this program. Every card

[17:35] that we received, no matter the size, will serve as a heartfelt reminder to
