[0:06] Uh good evening all. It is Thursday, August 27th.
[0:10] Um and uh we are kicking off the lake management task force uh meeting um
[0:17] online and we will call the meeting to order at 5:05.
[0:25] So uh so welcome everybody and we Yeah. and Morris is joining us as well. I see
[0:36] I think he's just about to join us. So, our first um item is to approve the
[0:41] agenda. Hello Morris, can you hear us?
[0:46] » Yeah. >> Great. Fantastic. So, we've just kicked
[0:48] off the meeting.
[0:53] Um, so we're on item number two to approve the agenda that the Lake
[0:58] Management Task Force approve the agenda as amended or circulated. Um, may I have
[1:03] a mover and a seconder? Richard and Ken. So, as circulated. Uh, any discussion?
[1:12] Dan, are you ready to vote
[1:17] or did you have a comment? >> Oh, yes. ready to vote.
[1:22] » Okay, those in favor and that is carried. Thank you so much.
[1:29] Um, so if you do have any pecunary interests to declare, you can always do
[1:33] so at that time. Um, so our next item
[1:38] is uh that the lake management task force approve the minutes of 2026-07-30
[1:45] as amended or as circulated. May I have a mover and a seconder for the minutes?
[1:54] Thank you, Richard, and thank you, Morris. So, as circulated, any comments?
[1:59] Okay, I see none. So, we'll take that to a vote. Those in favor?
[2:03] And that is carried unanimously. Thanks very much.
[2:08] All right. [clears throat] So, we are now um on the item number five. So, it
[2:13] is the um report. Uh so, we can do a motion at the end. Uh
[2:19] but what I'd like to do um propose to do is
[2:24] a flip through of the report. Um would that make best sense to to folks
[2:32] so that you know if we just take each section one by one uh and we do a
[2:36] sequential just flip through through the report. If you have any comments,
[2:40] questions um then then we can document it that
[2:45] way. What uh so given um that this is our final meeting,
[2:50] what we will do is um if there are any amendments to this report, we'll capture
[2:56] them at the very end of our conversation. Um and then I'll I'll take
[3:01] away those amendments um amend the amend this report, you
[3:07] know, as per our conversation and then that amended report will then be sent
[3:11] off to council as our final uh report. Uh, does that make sense?
[3:20] » Sounds good to me. >> Okay, fantastic. Um, and now before we
[3:25] maybe just do fliproughs, is there maybe any just general comments that anybody
[3:30] would like to make before we just start flipping through kind of page by page
[3:34] and ensure that we we get any comments? >> Job on it? I have no other comments.
[3:42] » Okay. So, we'll just we'll just start flipping through.
[3:48] Um, okay. So, we have our table of contents.
[3:53] Um, I So, so I I can add I think I just I missed a couple of uh
[3:59] pages there. I I can add the sub uh page sections. I just did it at the at the
[4:04] major sections for each one, but but I can I can fill in all the all the
[4:08] numbers for that. So, that is what I will do.
[4:11] » Okay. add page numbers for all.
[4:16] Um the next section is about the lake management task force. Um so that hasn't
[4:21] really changed. >> Oh just
[4:25] sorry Nadia just very very minor thing on the table of contents.
[4:30] » Yes >> under 5.2 action one there's
[4:33] [clears throat] a space missing
[4:38] just to line them all up. >> 5.2 to action one.
[4:44] Oh, >> I'm moving to another room.
[4:48] » I see it.
[4:51] » Sorry, Dan. You're you're moving to another location.
[4:55] » Okay. >> Yeah, it's very
[4:58] splotchy here. I'm going to come closer. >> Okay, sounds good. There there is the
[5:02] room just off the off the council chambers here. Yep.
[5:06] » It's It's comfy, too.
[5:17] Okay. So, oh, so, so I did get that space.
[5:21] » That's all. >> Perfect.
[5:26] And I'm going to let Dan walk through
[5:49] Carry on Eddie, I can hear you.
[5:57] Okay, great. Uh so the next page is about the lake
[6:02] management task force. Uh, so this hasn't changed for for a few versions
[6:08] now. Any comments here? I see none. Uh, executive summary.
[6:16] Uh, the one thing I think I will add in the executive summary, um, I'm going to
[6:20] just add, if that's okay, um, just a a characterization,
[6:28] um, sentence for each, uh, lake.
[6:34] because that's that's one section that I really didn't capture here and I I think
[6:38] it's important to just um [clears throat]
[6:44] to highlight sort of the sort of the differences. So, you know, the fact that
[6:49] uh Lake Eugenia is a reservoir, you know, Brewers is a private lake, um, you
[6:54] know, Irish, um,
[6:59] you know, kind of smaller lake with a small um, and then Will Cox. So, so I'll
[7:04] just add a sort of a characterization sentence. So, you know, for the
[7:07] executive summary, it's not supposed to create anything new. It's really just to
[7:11] capture um, something that's already really existing within the report. Uh is
[7:16] there anything else kind of missing maybe from the executive summary from
[7:20] from your perspectives?
[7:28] I did add one news um one new table that's in the main body as well and it's
[7:35] captured in the executive summary um is an overview of the proposed actions and
[7:40] recommendations by key lead groups. Um, so it's it's on page four and five.
[7:48] Um, and I thought that might be helpful so that we can then recommend specific
[7:56] items to uh to council like so the current council. Um, you know, we do
[8:04] have I think we might be able to still squeeze this report in uh in September
[8:09] and so council will have the opportunity and we we can ask to for for a report to
[8:14] come back um on the items um highlighted um for for this current council and and
[8:22] that is one item that I I do want to gain your feedback on. So if we do take
[8:28] a look at page four
[8:33] we have so the first section on page four so the overview recommendation by
[8:38] key leads so speaking so first speaks to uh the municipality of grey highlands
[8:45] uh first bucket are the items that have been implemented or are in progress so
[8:51] we're highlighting there things that we we have already been able to action or
[8:55] things that Bray Highlands is is already doing such as um the septic
[9:00] reinspection. So fertilizer, septic reinspection and then the water quality
[9:04] testing items. Uh the second
[9:09] um
[9:13] the second uh piece is to be considered um recommendations to be considered
[9:19] maybe uh to be considered now by the current council. So given the fact that
[9:24] they're more they're quick win rankings and have a lower resource and funding
[9:30] need. Uh so those are so that's the tidy yards
[9:35] bylaw allowing the naturalized gardens and and longer
[9:40] uh grass lengths a signage strategy.
[9:45] the invasive species um reporting
[9:51] the enhanced public beach access points conditions
[9:56] a comprehensive communication plan a lake management
[10:02] um committee. So it's it may be just being you know open to participating you
[10:09] know in some sort of format of a of a lake management committee moving forward
[10:14] and advocating to public uh [clears throat] advocating to government
[10:17] bodies you know as as needed or as required um when we think about um you
[10:25] know our lake our lakes and and um I think the one item there would be you
[10:31] know creating stronger working relation ations with OPG.
[10:37] » Um, Nadia, can I just um for the second last one there, the I guess the working
[10:44] group participation, are are you sort of suggesting that the current council
[10:50] set it up for the next term or for or for the next year or something like that
[10:56] or or >> so the structure would still need to be
[11:00] decided. >> Okay. Yeah. So not recommending a
[11:04] structure but recommending um participation if a structure does um
[11:11] form >> right
[11:12] » I don't necessarily believe um there should be another lake management
[11:19] committee under council you know my my belief and my perspective
[11:25] is you know if there was um a council or a committee formed in the community with
[11:34] those who are interested in lake management.
[11:37] Um that could be one way. Um the other way could be if
[11:45] uh but it would require dollars. say if um council believed and wanted to ensure
[11:53] that there was good um coordination going forward and could
[11:59] ask the cons the conservation areas the conservation authority. So we would pay
[12:05] the conservation authority um you know to hire you know fund
[12:11] somebody to take the lead to do something like that. Okay.
[12:17] » So, it's more about participation and the ask would be um for a staff report
[12:23] to come back. So, it wouldn't be saying, "Hey, go ahead and do this." It would be
[12:28] asking um the the way I would see this work is the request would be for staff
[12:35] report to come back [clears throat] to see um you know, what could be done,
[12:41] right? So in terms of of a tidy yards bylot, you know, so kind of confirming
[12:45] um so yes, we don't have one and we could add naturalized gardens. So to
[12:51] allow, you know, um properties to have, you know, the the native, you know, tall
[12:57] native grasses, you know, in their front yards.
[13:00] » Um you know, a signage strategy. So, you know, so as we speak to better um a more
[13:07] coordinated sign, you know, for invasive species, you know, so communicating, you
[13:12] know, invasive species or uh board boating restrictions, etc. You know,
[13:16] when we think about the Lake Eugenia, you know, when we were
[13:21] down there, there's there's a whole bunch of old older um signages over
[13:26] time. you know, I think there's an opportunity to review all those signages
[13:31] and and I and the boat launch, you know, organization, that Eugenia committee
[13:36] there, uh they too believe there needs to be uh you know, a review of all those
[13:42] signages. And I think as we do that and and and create um you know QR codes on
[13:48] them so you know so it could go back to some sort of a come back to a grey
[13:53] highlands lake management website you know a permanent website with all the
[13:59] information um then all those kind of signages there should also be
[14:03] appropriate signages at all access points as well
[14:07] » right okay
[14:12] Uh okay. Yeah. My my is my question was
[14:16] only just in terms of you know the the current council is is sort of at the end
[14:20] of their uh end of their rope as it were and
[14:26] » whether it it it will might fall to the next one too. So, but so what could
[14:32] happen is um this current council because you know this has been a task
[14:36] force under the current council we could ask them for staff report on these kind
[14:42] of more I'll call them kind of quick wins
[14:46] » right um lower you know less um less effort resourcing um and if you ask for
[14:53] a staff report to come back it won't come back to this current council but it
[14:57] would come back to the next council Okay, that's yeah. Okay, that makes
[15:02] sense. I understand now. >> Yeah.
[15:07] So, um so the question is so I I'm going to pause here because I think this is
[15:10] sort of important. Um does does this make sense?
[15:22] » Yeah, I think the structure is is very clear as to what how things fall fall
[15:27] out.
[15:32] Is there something that should be there or shouldn't be there?
[15:45] And then when we take a look at the third bucket, you know, so those two,
[15:49] you know, items to be considered for, you know, incoming potentially incoming
[15:54] um council. So these so these are items that would require greater resourcing
[16:01] you know so something like so you know that that includes the comprehensive
[16:04] lake studies right because that that would require significant monies say if
[16:09] we wanted to do a wholesome you know scientific study of of Lake
[16:13] Eugenia for example um roadside native plant buffers so that
[16:18] could be like an adopt a road um approach kind of uh plant buffer
[16:24] program.
[16:28] Um, a wash station, right? So, because that would require dollars,
[16:34] a carrying capacity study for Lake Eugenia. So, that would be from a
[16:38] planning perspective and would require dollars. Um, a
[16:44] protective lake plan and bylaw. So that'd be more of a review of maybe
[16:48] potential other items, but that that would also require more investigation
[16:53] because I I really don't know what what that would be. Um and then enhance the
[16:57] boat launch. Um so with in conversation with the that Eugenia the Eugenia
[17:04] development uh committee there um
[17:10] you know they are I think they are looking to continue to um have
[17:14] conversations [clears throat] uh with staff and and with council to
[17:18] ensure that they are maintaining um that boat launch in good uh so so
[17:24] [clears throat] that you know it isn't it uh is maintained well Um, I think one
[17:29] of the items, you know, that was brought to my attention was
[17:33] the landscaping, you know, so the dock seems to be still okay, but the
[17:36] landscaping of the uh the uh the shoreline um maybe some concerns there.
[17:44] Um you know, as boats come in and you know, might be bumping up against uh the
[17:49] side of the lake. Um
[17:54] so so you know so so I think it's good to under you know under maybe just to
[17:59] highlight that um and you know the group will continue you know to um you know to
[18:05] meet with staff and with to move these issues with with council.
[18:11] So so any any comments on that? Does the
[18:18] does the grouping seem to make sense? >> I think it does. And with the cross
[18:24] references to all of the subtasks, I mean, it makes it comprehensive and easy
[18:29] to find. I didn't find anything that wasn't in this report. I mean, you could
[18:32] argue something should be done next week as opposed to next year, but I think it
[18:35] covers all the areas. >> Okay.
[18:39] Okay. Thank you. And then on page five um so then these
[18:43] are proposed recommendations you know that um could be led you know by group
[18:50] and like associations. So when we look at what is already being
[18:54] implemented or in progress so water quality testing um so Laoa you know is
[19:00] doing um some testing along with friends uh the lake studies so that's you know
[19:06] the friends of like Eugenia you know has been doing that um and then items that
[19:11] could be considered you know at the at the lake association as potential leads
[19:17] uh could [clears throat] be you know additional water quality testing uh
[19:21] there's the Irish like um it also we also do recommend um more testing at
[19:27] Eugenia. So I do you know um so we we have as recommended the five locations
[19:35] those five sites um because Laoa is just focused on the
[19:42] green blue algae uh but if we believe the fullome you know phosphorus etc
[19:48] should be um uh tested as well I I'll just add the the Eugenia one as well.
[19:57] Um, so reviewing, you know, no wake zones, review boating restrictions,
[20:04] continue to enhance boat launch, continue to enhance the communication
[20:07] plans, continue to enhance education plans, consider like management
[20:11] committee work and coordinated efforts and, you know, advocate to government
[20:16] bodies and agencies. And I'm using the words, you know, to
[20:21] continue and to review, you know, because we do know, you know, the lake
[20:24] associations already do this work, but there is the opportunity to to enhance.
[20:35] » Yeah, it's an ongoing thing, Nadia. >> I'm just waiting for the next invasive
[20:40] species to come along and change the whole,
[20:43] » you know, honestly. Yeah. >> Yeah.
[20:49] » [clears throat] >> Um, so anything else kind of missing?
[20:52] » No, we've covered this. This is good. >> Okay, fantastic. Okay, so then we'll
[20:57] move along to page six, uh, the introduction.
[21:11] Any comments on that?
[21:17] So, am I missing any information or any key points not captured?
[21:26] » Okay.
[21:29] » Okay. So, we'll keep going. Um 1.2 lake management concerns. So, page seven and
[21:35] eight. Um so, this is straight from our survey.
[21:40] So, so we've captured um [clears throat] the overall overall uh
[21:47] responses in the bar chart and then also included the top top five issues
[21:54] identified uh by each lake. And I think what you know what's interesting is um
[21:58] you know because there are some differences you know by lake and when
[22:03] you do take a look by you know at a by lake um lens the public access points uh
[22:10] does pop up for brewers Wilcox and Irish. So I think that's of interest.
[22:20] Uh any comments here? Okay I don't see none. So we'll keep
[22:26] going. Uh the lake management plan guiding principles. So we so that has
[22:32] been there for some time. Uh the only thing that I did add was on page nine
[22:37] the second uh guiding principle recognize the links between the human
[22:41] health environmental health which support I added the economic health
[22:45] aspect because um I didn't want to lose that
[22:50] » because um because we we do hear that from from
[22:54] residents because they do worry about their valuation. Jim,
[22:59] » sorry, just back to your pie charts, your piraphphs.
[23:03] Um, so
[23:08] there's some categories that aren't represented in your graph. So probably
[23:13] does I didn't check if that added to a 100% or not?
[23:19] » Um, so yes. So the pi graphs are um the top five
[23:26] concerns. So, taking just the top five concerns.
[23:29] » Oh, there it says that there. Okay. Thank you.
[23:31] » Okay. Okay. Um,
[23:38] [clears throat] okay.
[23:42] » Just to just to kind of keep it simple. Um, and to just
[23:45] » trying to tease out maybe any key differences between links.
[23:51] Mhm. So we didn't consider adding it in others
[23:55] like still still presenting the five top but in the pie chart having a slice for
[24:03] the other issues.
[24:09] » So So the bar chart um represents all
[24:15] » the responses there, right? >> Yes. Yes. [clears throat]
[24:18] » I appreciate that. I appreciate that. And that's why I was wondering what if
[24:21] if these pie charts could represent like I like the pie charts and I think it
[24:27] shows clearly what the issues the the main issues are just
[24:33] adding in a slice for the other stuff because anyways it's not a big deal. I
[24:40] just think it's it's something that just presents a little bit more accurate
[24:45] picture because there are other things that are important to folks.
[24:50] » So so so definitely there are >> Mhm. And so that's why I thought like
[24:55] you know having the full sum representation you know the bar chart is
[24:58] is helpful so you have the full spectrum of of all the elements that were
[25:01] captured while just highlighting you know what's what's the top concerns you
[25:07] know by like just it's more for simplicity
[25:12] » because >> yeah I don't think having
[25:15] » so I'm sorry um yeah I don't think having like a um a pie slice marked
[25:22] other um I I think that would probably, you know, help to because when you have
[25:28] a pie chart, you you expect that it adds up to 100.
[25:32] » Mhm. >> But again, it's it's a it's a minor.
[25:37] It's really >> adds to 100. I think it's just with the
[25:40] top five. >> Oh, right.
[25:43] » Waiting associated with it, I think. Is that right? Am I
[25:46] » So that's right. Yes. So we just took the top five issues.
[25:49] » Yeah. um to to to show a waiting.
[25:54] » Yeah. Well, Cox like to add up to 100.
[25:59] » They all add up they all add up because it's just the top five proportionate.
[26:05] So, it's not all, you know, so so say if there were like a hundred
[26:10] » um responses for Lake Eugenia, right? But if there were only 60 responses in
[26:14] the top five, then it it'd be 100% represents the 60
[26:23] I personally I think it's it's best the way it is just have the top one because
[26:26] put the other then question becomes what's in the other and you're going to
[26:30] have small stuff like I know like the size of the motors not going to be an
[26:33] issue on Bruce's lake and it just >> okay
[26:37] » I think it it covers the covers the points
[26:40] » like I said not not a big deal just maybe a personal preference
[26:48] everything's presented did. So, it's probably not it's not big deal. I don't
[26:53] Yeah, whatever. I'm not sure if you're going to present it the one way, you
[26:58] have to present it the second way, but whatever. We'll just we'll just move on.
[27:02] » Okay. Because I guess I like I don't think it
[27:06] changes um the messaging in terms of hey, here's the top five issues.
[27:13] No, it just it it does kind of highlight the top five though where I don't know
[27:18] that there's any rationale for highlighting one over another,
[27:23] right? Because it's already shown it's already
[27:27] shown in the other the other graph, but I guess you're trying to separate it by
[27:31] lake. separated by like, what you start to
[27:34] see. >> Yeah. Because what you start to see when
[27:36] you separate it by like is just, you know, those top items start to start to
[27:41] they're a little bit different. >> Um, and I think what's of interest when
[27:44] you take a look at the top five is, you know, in three in Brewers, Wilcox, and
[27:49] Irish, they're more worried about um the public access points, while Lake Eugenia
[27:56] is less worried about that, right? Lake Eugenia is more worried about um septic
[28:02] systems and the other three aren't. >> Okay. So that kind of brought me to my
[28:07] other question which was um so this is fine. I don't think it needs to be
[28:12] changed but um the public so are these things defined I can't remember like
[28:20] public access do we discuss what that means like is
[28:24] public access access mean we want to have more public access or does it mean
[28:28] we want to limit access to the public >> so um so the way it was just
[28:35] highlighted or the way it was stated in the um questionnaire in the survey is as
[28:42] you see in the bar chart. [clears throat]
[28:45] » Okay. >> So, so this is where you know if you
[28:47] want to continue to have um
[28:52] so if we were to continue to move on the issue of hey uh for public access you
[28:59] know what do we need to change or what do we need to address? So this would be
[29:03] the next step of moving on the action point,
[29:07] » okay, >> to to have those conversations.
[29:10] But we haven't had that conversation as a task force. However, it is on the list
[29:15] on the recommendation list. Um you know, if you go back to page four,
[29:22] um it's a call it like um under the quick
[29:27] win, right? So to ask for a report back, you know, from um from staff, you know,
[29:35] to, you know, about enhancing access points conditions
[29:40] » and so staff would bring back a report in terms of, hey, these were the these
[29:44] were things I would probably have to consider if we wanted to move on it.
[29:48] » So again, I wouldn't come back, you know, in terms of uh next steps.
[29:54] » Okay, good enough.
[30:00] Okay. Um, so, so thank you for that, Jim.
[30:05] Okay. So, page nine were the guiding principles.
[30:12] So, anything on that?
[30:19] Okay. Uh, page 10. So, 1.4 four is the lake
[30:26] management interest holding groups.
[30:31] Um so still pretty similar to what we saw last time. I made a couple of tweaks
[30:36] just to add a little bit more um information.
[30:43] And I did add Sheila did ask to for where was it? The Ontario Soil and Crop
[30:49] Improvement Association was added under agriculture.
[30:53] So I did add that.
[31:01] Any comments on that?
[31:09] Okay. So moving to the back the section 2.0
[31:14] the like background characterization.
[31:19] Um, and Ken, you did um you did highlight two items in in your email
[31:26] when you reviewed. I did not change anything yet, so you'll have to remind
[31:30] me when we get to them. >> Okay. I have to go back and look at what
[31:34] they were. Okay.
[31:37] » Uh, so 2.1 Lake Eugenia, we did update the depth profile
[31:46] uh images. So they so they are more clearer now.
[31:57] And then we still have the the zoning view.
[32:01] And then there's Brewster's Lake.
[32:06] and Brewster's Lake was. So, thank you um Richard. We updated Brewster Lake for
[32:11] the number of lots and properties around. So, 70 lots
[32:18] within the subdivision and 28 are waterfront properties.
[32:30] Then we have Irish Lake
[32:45] and Will Cox Lake.
[32:51] So any comments on any of those four?
[33:11] Okay, I see none. So, we'll keep moving. So, and if you want to pause at any
[33:17] point, just let me know.
[33:22] So, lake management objectives on page 20.
[33:26] So we did change uh the wording slightly to number one to maintain and improve
[33:31] healthy water quality conditions. Also added um in the objective number
[33:40] one under the issues addressed the second last bullet the presence of toxic
[33:46] uh blue green algae blooms zebra muscles unknown cause.
[33:51] » I'm I'm gonna jump in here. Um, is that we sus it's sorry I think a suspected
[33:58] cause. I don't know. Do we have ev is there evidence out there? I'm just
[34:02] thinking from what we've been reading over the last little while.
[34:08] I I know the [clears throat] uh the friends of Lake Eugenia have a very
[34:12] different approach. There's there's lots of research
[34:16] material published research material from uh respected authorities that
[34:21] indicate that zebra muscles has an impact because they eat the algae that
[34:25] would otherwise consume some of the nutrients that are leftovers. There's
[34:28] more nutrients for the for the blue green algae to to feed [clears throat]
[34:31] on. >> No competition.
[34:34] » Yeah. >> Yeah.
[34:36] » So, yeah. So, we do have research that supports that. Um, we don't have
[34:42] specific research on luggenia itself, but there is known research and so if
[34:49] that needs to be rewarded because I I did say zebra and muscles a known cause.
[34:54] So, if that needs to be more specific, um maybe that doesn't
[35:02] um
[35:05] » actually I I did see some of that same research think looking back thinking
[35:10] about it. Um but perhaps there's a there's a better way to to phrase that.
[35:16] » Yeah. Um but I I think even really our our issue
[35:21] is the regardless of the cause or the the issue that that we we need to
[35:26] address is the presence of the allergy blooms.
[35:29] » Yes. But I also did want to highlight um the zebra muscles because I think it's I
[35:35] didn't I don't want to lose that either because I think it's something that
[35:38] we've talked about as a committee >> as a
[35:42] » and or or what we can say um you know you know zebra something to the effect
[35:47] of zebra muscle is a known cause um and is
[35:52] um
[35:56] how do you say that like it's a maybe um a potential
[36:00] suspected or potential cause. Is that what you want to say?
[36:03] » Yeah. Kind of like it's a hypothesis. >> Yeah. Or a contributing factor.
[36:09] » Yeah. So you could say zebra muscles are potent. Exactly.
[36:12] » I would agree with that. I Yeah. >> Yeah. Potentially contributing factor.
[36:18] » Yeah. So zebra muscles. >> So it stays but just
[36:23] » it may not be [clears throat] all the problem but it may be very well part of
[36:27] the problem. For sure. For sure. For sure.
[36:31] » Um, okay. So, zebra muscle's a potentially contributing factor.
[36:36] » Is that better? >> I like it.
[36:39] » Okay, good.
[36:51] Okay.
[36:59] Okay, any any other um comments on these
[37:04] moving along. Um so thank you Jim for the best practices.
[37:10] Now I do want to pause on this. What? So the one change Jim what the one change I
[37:16] did when I brought it in was I I took out maybe I took out all the sort of the
[37:22] government references like from a academic perspective because I thought
[37:27] maybe I would just capture it in the ref like in at the end at the references but
[37:31] then as I'm thinking about it it still may be helpful for it to be just in the
[37:37] um in the text itself. Um and so so what I'd like to So if Jim if that's I I do
[37:45] just want to kind of get your um feedback on this because if that still
[37:47] makes sense what I'll do is I'll bring it back in. Um and the only and the only
[37:53] item that I took out um in terms of the uh point sources was
[38:01] the um wastewater treatment plants because it it because you know it wasn't
[38:09] it's not it's not a factor on our lakes right now.
[38:18] Yeah, I don't think so. Um, >> or maybe because we do have one in
[38:25] Kimberly in Talisman and we have the >> the lagoons there
[38:30] » that's not contributing to the >> that would contribute.
[38:33] » Yeah, >> not here. I'm trying to think if there
[38:36] would be any elsewhere. I don't think so. Eugenia would be the one and I don't
[38:40] think there's anything upstream. Uh
[38:44] » and the storm water management ponds I like I don't know of any right now that
[38:49] would >> there is I know there is like so for
[38:53] example uh Ice River Springs has one and some others do as well with
[38:59] contributions to the beaver which ends up in the in the lake.
[39:04] » Okay. >> Yeah, you're right though. Like I don't
[39:09] think there's any wastewater ones. I'd have to think about that. I don't
[39:12] believe there is >> they would be private and I'm not sure
[39:17] there is any so like you say there may be in the future right so if you have
[39:23] some development that proceeds and there is changes at the ministry the
[39:28] environment to permit or actually it's a long story but wastewater treatment
[39:34] plants for small private developments have been uh
[39:42] uh rejected by municipalities and so they won't sign municipal responsibility
[39:47] agreements with with the developers but the mun the the government has changed
[39:52] the laws around that so they may need to be accepted so you may see them more of
[39:57] them in the future um but anyway it's not there now so I
[40:02] don't think it's important to leave that in fine to take it out
[40:06] » okay that's the only one I took out >> uh storm water I think you might want to
[40:10] leave in because it will be and is included in any development, new
[40:14] development, >> uh, which you would have some proposed
[40:18] at least in the watershed and some and as I say, you have some at
[40:24] Ice River Springs and some other spots along the way, I think. So, probably a
[40:28] good one to leave in. In terms of the references, I'll leave
[40:33] that to your discretion. You you can >> Yeah. Do Do you have a a strong view
[40:38] either way? >> I do not. No, I mean you could you could
[40:42] bring it leave it in or take it out. I think it was referenced for the purposes
[40:46] of for someone to to look it up in the future. It wasn't really
[40:51] » it's public information that we were using. So I don't think it was anything
[40:55] that needed necessarily to be referenced.
[40:58] » Okay. Okay. Because then what I'll I'll make sure it's um it is also included in
[41:02] in our references. So So maybe [clears throat] I'll leave it the way
[41:05] this is now then. >> Sure.
[41:07] » Okay.
[41:11] Um, so any any comments uh from other members on on this section?
[41:20] But it's a good it's a good overview of like non-point and and point sources
[41:26] and thank you for that uh Jim.
[41:31] » Okay. So then if we Ken
[41:34] » sorry page 22 as part of this that's where I had my my little comment no till
[41:39] cropping there's a extra space in there >> okay so so we're on page 22 sorry
[41:48] » um the second uh um but bullet relevant BMP recommendations
[41:56] » okay yes no space >> okay
[42:00] » I know I hang up on these things. [laughter]
[42:03] » You have an eagle eye. Thank you. >> All right.
[42:10] Right. Okay. So then if we're moving along. Okay. So page 27. So now we're
[42:16] into the actions and recommendations.
[42:24] Uh so so first we have the introduction.
[42:32] We talk about the actions and recommendations uh strategic themes
[42:41] and then on page 28 we talk about the prioritization just a little description
[42:46] of the pri prioritization chart that follows.
[42:51] » So I'll just pause here for a moment. Is are there any comments on this section
[42:56] on these three first kind of two three pages?
[43:03] » It's good. >> Okay. And then on page 29
[43:08] uh so with the prioritization chart so made the changes as we discussed at our
[43:14] last meeting and then I did add the one item 12F
[43:20] advocate to government bodies and 12F got grouped in with 12DF.
[43:28] [snorts] So, education plan like management
[43:32] uh committee work and advocacy work.
[43:37] Does that make sense?
[43:56] Okay. Uh so then we if we keep moving along on
[44:00] page 30 we have the um so we saw this chart um be brought up to the front to
[44:06] the executive summary. So this is just a bit of that kind of overview by a lead
[44:12] um by key lead.
[44:18] Uh so kind of breaking it out between what we could maybe push with uh you
[44:23] know with council and the municipality um and versus
[44:28] you know where community groups would be would more
[44:33] naturally be key leads.
[44:43] Okay. So moving along. So then getting into the actions and
[44:51] recommendations um
[44:56] section the with the the more detailed section.
[45:01] So the first one is the water. So action number one water quality testing on page
[45:05] 32.
[45:10] So I don't think anything's changed here.
[45:14] We did correct for the five
[45:19] I just want to make sure for the five test sites.
[45:25] Um
[45:30] yeah, it's on page 33 1B. So add additional test sites on Lake Eugenia.
[45:36] Five sites because I think um before we there is we were using both four and
[45:41] five. So it's five
[45:49] Then on page 34, we have the Lake Eugenia
[45:53] with the five pins. One, two, three, four, five. So those are the proposed
[45:58] testing sites.
[46:05] Then we have the Brewers Lake map with the one like partner site.
[46:15] Irish Lake. We added a pin for the proposed for a proposed testing site.
[46:21] Ken, can you remind me? Did we ask lake partners if we could do Irish Lake?
[46:28] » Um I Okay, let me think about that exactly what the status was.
[46:36] Um,
[46:39] at one point they were a little earlier on they were resistant to adding
[46:46] uh new sites but I mean then we came back and we were able to you know
[46:51] reestablish the site on Brewster Lake. Um I I
[46:56] » or Wilox >> I mean sorry on Wilox.
[46:59] » Mhm. >> And uh
[47:06] I think I think it'd be a case of starting from the point of view of
[47:10] having a volunteer on on Irish Lake, >> right?
[47:14] » Okay. and and sort of taking from that I I think it's a case of they can be
[47:19] persuaded
[47:23] but um yeah that's still that's still left as a a task to be undertaken going
[47:29] forward >> okay
[47:32] because you know if we go back to Irish Lake you know the concerns you know our
[47:36] little pie charts >> um
[47:40] the number two concern was limited monitoring and testing
[47:44] » exactly
[47:48] No. Okay.
[47:54] Uh and then on page 37, so Will Cox like
[48:04] » and Morris, you you've started that.
[48:12] » Oh, I can't hear you.
[48:18] Yeah, I I started the sampling in May. >> Excellent.
[48:24] » It's I've been doing it every month. I got one to do this month and one next
[48:28] month. >> Fantastic.
[48:29] » That's awesome. I've I've just I've just guessed at where in the lakes you're
[48:34] taking your samples. It's just a artist's representation.
[48:38] » Yeah. And it it's pretty close. And uh I I know the I talked to you Ken
[48:45] about the one the maps that showed the depths and how far they are on Wilox
[48:51] Lake. There's nowhere that deep on any on the lakes.
[48:57] » Okay. I don't know where those those I mean I don't know where that
[49:01] [clears throat] that service got that information from.
[49:06] And the uh I'm doing the two sites at the same time and the clarity in the
[49:12] back lake is far better than Wilox Lake. >> H
[49:18] interesting. >> Yeah.
[49:20] » Well, it's much quieter there. I guess there's less.
[49:23] » Actually, it's been quiet around both the lakes. All right. You
[49:28] » see anybody? >> Okay. Okay.
[49:33] Thank you so much for doing that. course and it looks like I'm going to be
[49:38] continuing it on after this year. >> Great.
[49:42] » That's awesome. Thank you for volunteering.
[49:46] » Morris, trust me, once you get started, nobody will let you get off of it.
[49:50] [laughter] [clears throat]
[49:52] » I'm on year 20.
[49:58] » Okay. Um, so we're on page 38. So action number two, the scientific research. I
[50:04] don't think there's anything that's changed here.
[50:20] I think that's a see the GSCA completed that lake study in I think it was 1976 I
[50:27] think it was. I think that's [clears throat] something that maybe
[50:30] should be undertaken again. That's probably really outdated. And I
[50:37] every time there's something that comes up for a vote on adding more homes and
[50:43] stuff around Lake Genie, I vote it down. Whether it's allowed or not, I don't
[50:47] know. Wait, [clears throat] I think it's totally overbuilt now.
[50:53] » Yeah. Um so yeah. Um so so that would be you know like a like a um part of
[51:02] Yes. So that would be if if we want to move forward with that that would be
[51:07] dollars needed to to move forward. >> Yeah. If I if I get reelected I think
[51:11] that's something I might advocate for. >> Yeah. Okay. And and it is in the list of
[51:17] you know [clears throat] for council um going forward.
[51:22] » Okay. >> It's great.
[51:27] Um,
[51:31] okay. Page 39's the stewardship septic system management.
[51:37] I don't think anything's changed there. Storm water runoff management action
[51:43] four on page 40.
[52:00] Um just on the the storm water um um maintaining water quality.
[52:07] I'm not so sure like they're they're mainly designed to
[52:12] to catch the silt and and stuff like that. uh slow the water down so that the
[52:18] the silt can settle out and then [clears throat] even with uh sometimes
[52:25] when you get a really big storm like the the the ponds will get overwhelmed and
[52:31] I'm not so sure that they're so designed to filter out pollutants, you know, like
[52:35] fertilizers and salt and stuff that you've
[52:39] [clears throat] you've set out there. Um
[52:45] um I don't know how you could word that
[52:49] differently, Nadia. Um and definitely erosion. That's that's definitely a
[52:56] Yeah. Um do you understand what I'm saying or?
[53:02] » Yeah. So the so um so the first one storm water runoff management along Lake
[53:06] Shore is on the lake shures is critical to help maintain water quality. So, it
[53:11] helps filter harmful pollutants, >> salt, and animal waste.
[53:16] » Yeah. And they've they've they've changed the way they designed them. They
[53:21] used to let them run dry and and let the water as it come in, it would filter out
[53:26] and filter down through the the strata. And now they they leave water in them.
[53:33] Uh they actually want you to line them so that they that they hold the water. I
[53:38] guess the idea is if there's water in there, it will slow the dirty water
[53:43] coming down faster. And >> um
[53:48] yeah, and I'm not so sure that they're designed for like to take out pollutants
[53:53] and fertilizers and salt. And >> so this like
[53:57] » Are you think about storm water management ponds?
[54:01] » Yes. >> So So this is Yeah. So this isn't the
[54:03] storm water management ponds. This is just um when we think about
[54:08] um storm water runoff management. So when you think about buffers
[54:14] um >> okay I see I understand what you're
[54:17] talking about now. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
[54:19] » And and so when you think about buffers etc. you know I do see this language
[54:25] » related to it. >> Oh yes.
[54:27] » It helps to filter >> you know slow down and and helps to
[54:31] filter >> the grass and the cattails and Yeah.
[54:34] Yeah. Before >> Okay, you're absolutely right there.
[54:37] [clears throat] >> Yep. You're right there. Yeah.
[54:38] » Okay. >> Yep.
[54:42] » Uh Jim, >> yeah, I think you handled it. I think
[54:46] you handled the question, but I I you know, interested to talk to member
[54:51] Wiccans about storm water pond design anytime. there. He's pretty much correct
[54:56] except uh they are designed to remove pollutants including nutrients
[55:03] from uh incoming storm water whatever is attached to the sediment. So there would
[55:09] be nutrients attached and then >> the the ponds are vegetated for removal
[55:16] of >> of um nutrients as well. But you're
[55:20] correct about the removal of uh say road salt. They are unable to do that.
[55:25] » No, because it's it's in solution. Yeah, >> that's right.
[55:28] » Yeah. >> Um so when it comes to these
[55:34] shoreline buffers, um I'm not sure what mechanism they have to
[55:41] remove salts. Certainly, if they're slowing the water and there's infiltrate
[55:45] infiltration [clears throat] into the ground, then that water with
[55:48] salt will infiltrate into the ground. That would be that would be true. So,
[55:53] I'm not sure if that helps clarify that point, but
[55:57] » yeah, because so I think that is part of the um you know, because like buffers
[56:02] helps to slow down um water filtering through, you know, into the ground
[56:08] before it hits the lake. Yeah. Are taken up by the plants, too.
[56:14] Yeah. Yep. >> So, is there anything that I should
[56:18] remove or is it okay as is? >> No, I think that's fine. I Yeah. I just
[56:22] It was just the way that I was thinking differently than you. Yeah.
[56:29] » And this is where we speak to our fertilizer bylaw,
[56:33] ys bylaw, right? So, allow for naturalized gardens. Um,
[56:43] and and I'm also just going to add also taller uh taller grass
[56:48] uh heights. Is that's it's actually I don't think
[56:53] it's I don't think it's stated there. So, I'm
[56:56] just going to just add the taller grass heights under 4B.
[57:08] And then 4C, uh, so um, brushing clearing to, so native plant buffers
[57:13] along roadsides. Um, and it and it could be a like a dot
[57:20] like a DOT highway kind of a program, a volunteer program. We we did actually
[57:27] speak to this uh at council um last month. Um it it was it was not
[57:36] supported by council to move forward with. Um so but maybe like a adopt a
[57:39] highway kind of a program, a volunteer program um to you know to volunteer and
[57:46] uh and establish plant buffers along roadsides might be
[57:52] um more more um applicable. Does that make sense?
[57:58] If I maybe just add those words because it'll just maybe just kind of
[58:04] change it up a bit because it was not it was not uh it was not well supported by
[58:08] by council.
[58:13] » Uh page 41, the invasive species management.
[58:22] » I apologize for interrupting. I'm I'm as we're going along, I'm just trying to
[58:26] capture the amendments. And I I missed what you had just indicated. I was
[58:30] taking notes about um adding the taller grass uh under 4B, but I missed um the
[58:37] other amendment if there was one that you were um suggesting about making.
[58:42] » Yes. So for 4 C. >> Okay.
[58:44] » Um so I will add the words something to the effect of a like adopt a highway
[58:48] type program. >> Okay. Perfect. Thank you.
[58:52] » Thank you.
[59:01] Um and then action number five invasive species management
[59:06] and where we do have signs like so you know 5B we talk to the post infographic
[59:12] signs and then where we do speak to signs right after that I I'll state you
[59:18] know as part of a um you know as part of a signage strategy
[59:26] because you know because we do speak to um I think like three different kinds of
[59:30] signs and I think that it all needs to be coordinated you know as a broader
[59:34] strategy so there you know so it's part of sort of you know one kind of
[59:37] communication Mhm.
[59:59] » Anything else for invasive species management?
[1:00:07] » That's good. Okay.
[1:00:12] Uh then the fisheries and wildlife protection action six on page 43.
[1:00:19] So nothing has been changed here
[1:00:26] any cross references to action 12 you know in terms of education programs
[1:00:38] and action shoreline naturalization
[1:00:42] action seven page 44
[1:00:48] I got It cross references to education programs.
[1:01:06] Then action eight, responsible booting.
[1:01:19] I don't think we've changed anything since last time here.
[1:01:24] » Okay.
[1:01:29] » The the uh they're under 8C. I just noticed that applying for restrictions.
[1:01:34] It shouldn't be all four legs. Those two lakes already have restrictions.
[1:01:41] » Oh, okay. So, could it be maybe consider applying? Maybe review and consider
[1:01:46] applying because they could maybe change.
[1:01:57] Yeah, they could. But the way it's I mean the this the scope [snorts] and I
[1:02:00] think the intent is to say for those that don't have any controls um we
[1:02:04] should look at putting some controls in place.
[1:02:07] » Okay. So, so what we can do, so would it make sense to because I'm just wondering
[1:02:11] about, you know, kind of like um being holistic. So, could we say um you know
[1:02:16] um those that do have it to review and two that don't have it should consider?
[1:02:21] » Yeah, that's fine. >> Okay. Which which which two have it and
[1:02:25] which two don't have it? >> So, Eugenia and Wilcox, sorry, Eugenia
[1:02:31] and and sorry, Irish and Brewers. Can't read the lines here. hires and
[1:02:35] producers have restrictions under the shipping act. Uh the other two are
[1:02:40] unrestricted.
[1:02:44] » Okay. So, so that they have so they can review
[1:02:47] » just to make sure you know it's it's still at the restriction level that they
[1:02:52] wish and then >> Morris, is there not a horsepower
[1:02:56] restriction on on Will Cox? >> Yes, there is.
[1:03:01] » That's what I thought. put under whose authority?
[1:03:10] » And there's no personal watercraft like sea dudes or anything that like that
[1:03:15] alone. >> Yeah. I'm just curious as to what who
[1:03:19] who uh set that we ignore enforcement for a second because that's tougher, but
[1:03:24] who set that up that there is a limitation?
[1:03:28] uh the uh lake
[1:03:33] the Wilcox Lake Association years ago. >> Okay.
[1:03:38] » Is it enforcable? >> Uh they seem to be enforcing it.
[1:03:46] Who >> who [laughter] who actually enforces it?
[1:03:48] Like just the the local residents? >> The residents that live there full time.
[1:04:00] But it but it's not official if it's not included in the AV.
[1:04:06] » No. >> So So is it a step that they should
[1:04:10] take? >> Is it which
[1:04:13] » is it a step that will cox should take to ensure that it's um documented and
[1:04:20] registered with V? >> It probably wouldn't hurt, but
[1:04:26] There's nobody going against against what they're saying. So,
[1:04:31] » yeah. Is it signed, Morris? >> No,
[1:04:35] » it's not.
[1:04:41] » Cuz then if you if you get it um recorded by V, then then you can also
[1:04:47] then get it, you know, get the proper signage.
[1:04:53] » So, that would be part of the signage. um kind of strategy.
[1:05:01] » Okay. So, so >> Oh, go ahead.
[1:05:04] » Sorry. I think that comes under reviewing
[1:05:07] uh or you know without having to be specific reviewing or instituting
[1:05:15] um reviewing or considering voting restrictions.
[1:05:20] » Yeah. So, I'll just do reviewing and or consider Mhm.
[1:05:25] » restrictions. So really, so Eugenia is the only one
[1:05:29] that doesn't have a restriction then. >> So Wilox has one as per residential
[1:05:37] might. >> Yeah.
[1:05:48] » Okay. Okay. So, so I'm going to keep it um just broad to say review and or
[1:05:52] consider and I'll keep it all four legs and then
[1:05:57] um but but I think that that might be a
[1:06:01] good action item for Will Cox if you guys want to
[1:06:06] or or should I ask or should I add the detail because it's it's good
[1:06:09] information that we know. My concern is that because this becomes a public
[1:06:14] document, uh the way it's written now, it sounds like
[1:06:19] Bruce Lake and and um Irish Lake should go and make an application to restrict
[1:06:24] what vessels are on there. So, somebody could take this and say, "Look, it's not
[1:06:28] you guys supposed to apply for it." I know in the previous paragraph it talks
[1:06:30] about it, but it doesn't say where that restriction is. Yeah,
[1:06:34] » that's that's my concern is that I think we want to you might you know for the
[1:06:39] you know we might want to say for the two lakes um
[1:06:43] that currently have restrictions to review the appropriateness and the other
[1:06:47] two to >> Yeah. Okay. So I'll do that. Okay. So
[1:06:52] we'll review for Irish and Brewers uh for appropriateness
[1:07:00] and then we'll uh and consider for Willox and Eugenia
[1:07:06] to apply because u while Willox is is doing it by
[1:07:10] residential might they haven't applied to the V and that might be a good next
[1:07:15] step.
[1:07:20] Okay, thank you.
[1:07:24] All right. Um so then we have just a signage example for infographics. Okay.
[1:07:31] Is there anything else for the responsible voting?
[1:07:36] Nope. Okay. 5.4 planning and infrastructure.
[1:07:41] [snorts] Uh so these are farmland measures.
[1:07:44] You know there's already programs um with different agencies
[1:07:49] and then opportunity just to reinforce communications of the of the various
[1:07:53] agricultural programs.
[1:07:58] Uh action 10, the responsible development.
[1:08:11] I was quite surprised when I looked at that map of Irish Lake. There's 60 lots
[1:08:17] surrounding that. I had no idea that was that uh
[1:08:22] » that highly populated. Yeah, there's like a little community on
[1:08:27] the north end. >> Sure is. Yeah.
[1:08:30] » Yeah. >> Can I just ask a question here? Is the
[1:08:35] lake carrying capacity study different than the lake characterization study?
[1:08:45] » I believe it is because characterization because capac so
[1:08:51] [clears throat] the carrying capacity will tell you how many
[1:08:55] um dwellings and like you know like how
[1:09:00] many dwellings and how um the density of the planning and the density
[1:09:07] um you know of homes that a lake can um sustain and characterization is more
[1:09:15] about all of the I think it's it doesn't necess while there's probably overlap
[1:09:20] because you do still need to understand uh the quality of the like um but I
[1:09:26] don't think you will necessarily get to the same it doesn't necessarily
[1:09:31] » the same answer. >> Okay.
[1:09:37] » There's probably overlap though. >> Yeah. I was I was just curious just to
[1:09:41] to distinguish the two. Yeah. Okay. [clears throat]
[1:09:45] » Yeah. Yeah, because the carrying capacities from a planning perspective
[1:09:51] » probably has something to do with the type of fish and wildlife and the type
[1:09:55] of water supply whether it's rivers or springfed and uh
[1:10:00] » you know whether it has an outlet or not like you know Brewers [snorts] has
[1:10:04] roosters has no outlet.
[1:10:12] Oh, and and maybe just for the um you know, the caring capacity, you know, I
[1:10:17] would say, you know, Lake Eugenia is is a priority.
[1:10:22] Um you know, but then I think I would just add another point here. Um you
[1:10:26] know, that the other lakes could be considered.
[1:10:41] Yeah, because if there was more um planning
[1:10:45] uh pressures um
[1:10:52] » yeah subdivision >> I mean it's not there's nothing planned
[1:10:57] but who knows for the future. >> Yeah, exactly.
[1:11:02] Okay. So, so for 10A I'll also add um you know prioritize Lake Eugenia and
[1:11:09] then in the future you know potential consideration.
[1:11:12] » Mhm.
[1:11:18] » So potential consideration for other legs for other three legs.
[1:11:23] » Yeah, that wouldn't hurt.
[1:11:36] Uh moving on. Action 11, public access management.
[1:11:50] Okay. So um so for this actually so page 49. So 11 a
[1:12:04] you know, because Lake Eugenia, you know, does have the the large public
[1:12:08] beach. Um
[1:12:15] but then I think you know I think there's the other um element of ensuring
[1:12:19] that there's um public access
[1:12:25] considerations and strategies for all for all the other sites.
[1:12:30] Um staff currently is reviewing the public
[1:12:35] access site on the north end of Eugenia because we don't while we purchase that
[1:12:41] a sliver of land so there is access um we don't have a strategy of sort of
[1:12:46] what's going to be there so you know so that's coming back and um
[1:12:52] and for the other access points I think there probably should be a clear
[1:12:55] understanding of how we'd want to manage
[1:13:01] What do you guys think?
[1:13:09] But just um just to sort of just a really really
[1:13:14] minor change, consider actions to reduce the amount of time that Lake Eugenia is
[1:13:18] unsafe for swimming as opposed to as posted as.
[1:13:25] All right. I think maybe that's a little bit more
[1:13:30] Oh, right. Okay. Is is unsafe for swimming. Yep.
[1:13:34] » Yeah. I think just make it a little bit more strongly worthy.
[1:13:37] » Yeah. Is unsafe. Yep.
[1:13:42] So, would it make sense to add the other >> and the other legs? Yeah.
[1:13:47] » The other legs just so it's complete.
[1:14:16] Okay. And then 11 C. Um so I will leave that
[1:14:21] as enhance the vote launch. Um
[1:14:30] u because um the Eugenia District Association um so so they are um moving
[1:14:38] forward to you know reaching out to staff and then probably to council to uh
[1:14:43] to continue to enhance um the boat launch.
[1:14:49] Um so I'll just add a sentence there.
[1:14:53] with all those question marks. And I'll just make sure with the with
[1:14:58] the with the group that it makes sense.
[1:15:12] Okay. Anything else? Okay. Great.
[1:15:17] Uh 5.5. So outreach. So this is communications and education.
[1:15:26] So on page 50 and 51.
[1:15:31] So did add 12F coordinate and advocate to targeted government bodies. So
[1:15:36] municipal, provincial, federal and other agencies OPG to promote and forward lake
[1:15:41] management issues.
[1:16:00] Okay. Nothing there. >> That's all good.
[1:16:05] » All right. Yay. We're almost through this.
[1:16:10] We're on um item six of the communication plan.
[1:16:15] So, so the um the purpose of this is um to help provide
[1:16:24] topics and key messages um around
[1:16:30] stewardship actions that could be relayed in a social media type
[1:16:37] communication plan. Uh because staff is very um willing to you know sort of take
[1:16:43] key topics and key messages and help to turn them into um
[1:16:49] you know social media posts. Um you know to help reinforce
[1:16:55] um you know the communications of good stewardship and you know in doing it and
[1:17:00] they're happy to do that sort of you know throughout the year. um they can
[1:17:04] add it into their communication plan, their their overarching kind of
[1:17:08] communication plan. Um right. And so it so so this is all about
[1:17:15] um you know helping to provide topics
[1:17:25] messages to support a so social media stewardship educa uh communication plan.
[1:17:33] I think what I'll do is I'll I'll just I had I'll review kind of the you know
[1:17:39] that introduction. I'm not sure if I feel like it could
[1:17:44] maybe be tweaked a little. I was really tired
[1:17:50] when I wrote it. >> Okay.
[1:17:54] » Oh, so I'm not sure how so I may I may just if um if if somebody has tweaks,
[1:17:59] let me know. [clears throat] But what I'll do though is I'll just review it
[1:18:02] like with fresh eyes. Um, and just make sure it just makes sense.
[1:18:08] I think you should just sort of recap what you just told us and that you you
[1:18:13] wanted to set this up as a communication schedule or calendar that
[1:18:20] um the the basically your your content
[1:18:25] creator will refer back to as they go through the year.
[1:18:30] » Yes. Yes.
[1:18:35] So I I will review that with that key purpose in mind. Um a little tired when
[1:18:40] I wrote that. >> Okay.
[1:18:47] » Um so is there is there anything that's kind of missing? I you know I just kind
[1:18:50] of kept it to some of the uh broader topics.
[1:19:03] anything kind of really
[1:19:08] shouldn't be there or something that's really missing.
[1:19:12] So we talk about lawns, fertilizers, shoreline restoration,
[1:19:19] runoff, rainwater runoff, septic reinspections,
[1:19:23] mulching,
[1:19:27] invasive species, permeable surfaces, green, blue, blue green algae, safe
[1:19:32] boating, lawns and composting and salt
[1:19:36] alternatives, preserving, preventing erosion and disposing paths.
[1:19:46] So then if we continue on past those key topics and then as you kind of as you
[1:19:54] flip through the next few pages. Um so again, you know, they're kind of
[1:19:59] like these kind of key messages because it can be used for
[1:20:04] um social media content creation.
[1:20:13] Good reminder for me to go buy some grass seed for my lawn.
[1:20:17] » Excellent. [laughter]
[1:20:20] Fantastic. Look at that. We've already impacted one uh one lake member
[1:20:28] » and I'm getting my septic system inspected tomorrow.
[1:20:31] » Oh, good for you. >> Great. [laughter]
[1:20:34] » Do you know where your septic tank is? >> Yes. Yes, I I went up and I uncovered
[1:20:40] it. So, they're going to have easy access.
[1:20:43] » It's good. I heard that somebody got a letter and they they responded, "Can
[1:20:48] somebody help me find my septic tank?" So, there's one good reason for a septic
[1:20:52] inspection. >> It's never been pumped.
[1:20:56] » I didn't say I found it on the first uh first shovel going into the ground.
[1:21:00] » Yeah. >> Eventually, I hit it.
[1:21:04] » Yeah. It's it's a good exercise. Everybody finds it. Yeah. Yeah. Really
[1:21:09] good exercise. Yeah. And for a septic reinspection. Um
[1:21:14] Yeah. So there's some key messages around the Grey Highland, you know,
[1:21:20] reinspection pilot program for Lake Eugenia. And then just and then just
[1:21:24] general subject management tips.
[1:21:31] » So that one's a little longer because there's kind of two aspects to it.
[1:21:47] I'll let you guys just kind of peruse those few pages
[1:21:52] and let please let me know if there was anything that kind of jumps out.
[1:21:56] » Here Dubick, I did have a quick question. I apologize. I'm trying to
[1:22:00] keep up with the the amendments as uh the task force is uh making their way
[1:22:05] through the report. I just wanted to I wondered if you could repeat the
[1:22:10] amendment um that was covered off um when the task
[1:22:15] force began reviewing the communication plan.
[1:22:19] » Yes. So, yeah. So, so I'm gonna I'm going to review that with fresh eyes. Um
[1:22:24] but I do want to ensure that um the that the the key intent is captured uh which
[1:22:33] is um you know um setting up a communication calendar
[1:22:40] uh for um for stewardship
[1:22:48] for lake management stewardship um in order to you know in order to create um
[1:22:54] social media content throughout the year. So, something to that effect, but
[1:22:59] I'll I'll word it better. And I just want to make sure it's in there and I
[1:23:02] have to review what's in in those [clears throat] kind of three sort of
[1:23:06] the messaging right um up above. >> Thank you.
[1:23:12] » So, it'll just get massaged, but
[1:23:25] Um so so any any comments on this section?
[1:23:30] » Um um I [clears throat] wonder um I think
[1:23:35] there's a um maybe a lot of people don't know that there's
[1:23:40] uh new risers that they can put on your septic tank now for easy access. They're
[1:23:48] little green covers and uh they just have uh have screws in them and you pop
[1:23:54] the lid off and there's no digging or shoveling or anything like that. Um
[1:24:01] just uh just to make it easier so you don't have to destroy your lawn every
[1:24:05] time your your uh your tank is pumped. I don't know how we could um
[1:24:11] » so so I can I can find so I can add what what are they called? Just risers.
[1:24:17] » Just risers. Yeah. Septic tank risers. And uh they're
[1:24:22] they're they're able to be able to be installed right at ground level. And
[1:24:27] [clears throat] >> like four screws and off the thing
[1:24:29] comes. And anything anything new now has to have a uh a little filter in it. And
[1:24:35] it's supposed to be cleaned out. Well, some say every six months, some say
[1:24:39] every year. I don't know. So, it's for easy access. You just pop them off and
[1:24:43] the filter comes out when you spray it off and pop it back in.
[1:24:47] » Yeah. In the middle of page 55 it says clean the fil your effluent filter.
[1:24:53] » Yeah. >> A lot of a lot of uh well anything
[1:24:57] that's probably 10 years and older doesn't have one of the
[1:25:01] » I'm going to pump my tank and I'm going to put the risers in because mine's 30
[1:25:06] years old and it's just got cement lids and
[1:25:09] I can [clears throat] put the risers on. Okay. Actually, that's what we have to
[1:25:12] cement. Okay. Um, so good. Okay. So, um, except tank riser. So, so I will add
[1:25:19] that point. I'll find find, um, a proper source for it and add it.
[1:25:27] » Yeah. It just makes things so much easier,
[1:25:29] » right? >> And then your your septic can't can't
[1:25:32] septic tank can't be lost. >> Yeah. Some Yeah. Anyways,
[1:25:42] » okay. I will I will find wording around that. Thank you.
[1:25:51] Um, any any other comments for this section?
[1:25:56] » I think you've done a wonderful job, Natty. I I don't I couldn't I wouldn't
[1:26:01] know where to begin how to put something like this together. And fantastic.
[1:26:06] Really fantastic.
[1:26:09] Well, >> what happened?
[1:26:14] Oh, sorry. You guys disappeared on me for a second. Okay,
[1:26:17] » you're still there. >> Yeah, must have been I must have moved
[1:26:20] my mouse. >> This is a tremendous amount of work,
[1:26:24] Nadia. Really? And I know there's a lot of people here who contributed and
[1:26:29] others that aren't, but you were the captain anyway.
[1:26:33] » Yeah. No, everybody contributed. So, it's it's great, right? like we we've
[1:26:37] had some really great conversations over the past year. Um and uh yeah, it's
[1:26:46] getting things down on paper is important. And so I think this is um so
[1:26:51] this is this is and it I I think what's so important about this um is um you
[1:26:57] know it captures a framework for for you know a good like management plan. you
[1:27:03] know, we already have, you know, recommendations. Some things are
[1:27:05] underway. Some things need to continue to be vetted and discussed to move
[1:27:11] forward. Um, but, you know, if we can find a home for this to continue to
[1:27:19] ensure that things do move along, you know, one home is, you know, with
[1:27:22] council for some of these items. uh the other homes are, you know, um you know,
[1:27:28] if if there's um a community body that could could come together. I think that
[1:27:34] that could be um could be interesting. Um you know, maybe cross cross lakes.
[1:27:42] Don't know. I don't know if there is interest, you know, u to do that, but
[1:27:47] that would be, you know, I think shopping this around with all the four
[1:27:54] lake associations and just having that conversation to see, you know, are they
[1:27:59] good on their own or, you know, would they want to if they if they see any
[1:28:03] benefit to collaborating in any way?
[1:28:08] » [clears throat] >> um
[1:28:11] that that that could be of interest and there there could be potential
[1:28:15] especially when it comes to things like programming and education programming
[1:28:18] and potential uh grant funding.
[1:28:28] » Okay. And oh, and then the last thing is the one thing I didn't do is um just
[1:28:33] creating the very last appendex and acronyms list because we do have
[1:28:37] acronyms throughout and sometimes it's just easier just to have a little table
[1:28:40] with all the acronyms together in one list.
[1:28:45] And I will do just one last review of references uh just to make sure we have
[1:28:49] everything captured.
[1:28:57] All right.
[1:29:00] That's it. Almost. That's it. Um
[1:29:08] so coordinator Thompson.
[1:29:13] So um next steps uh because so now that we do have um a report we so I so my
[1:29:23] next step is to take the list of amendments that we discussed to update
[1:29:29] the report and then that updated report will then go to council. Is that
[1:29:36] correct? Uh yes, councelor Dubick through you.
[1:29:40] That uh that would I be the ideal process. Um so um my suggestion and
[1:29:46] that's why I was trying to keep track of the amendments as as the task force was
[1:29:51] rolling through the document tonight. I I have um and perhaps we could just go
[1:29:57] through and and do a double check that I've captured all of them. I could
[1:30:00] certainly read the draft motion that I've um prepared, but um the task force
[1:30:08] would be moving a motion to approve the lake management task force report as
[1:30:13] amended. So recognizing uh the report that was provided on tonight's agenda
[1:30:18] was the final draft. the a uh the final report would be um that final draft with
[1:30:25] the amendments made tonight incorporated into it. Um I've also included um
[1:30:32] amendments as necessary to finalize the document report formatting. Um so
[1:30:38] ideally the lake management task force would uh be in a position to um approve
[1:30:44] the final report at tonight's meeting um and make a recommendation that that
[1:30:49] final report be forwarded to council for consideration. Um the task force may
[1:30:55] also want to consider how the report is presented to council if if it's simply
[1:31:01] going to be um added to an upcoming council agenda if that's the preference
[1:31:06] or if there's a preference for um members of the task force to attend um
[1:31:12] an upcoming council meeting and present um the task force report. um that could
[1:31:19] be done as a presentation and there's simply an an an application process that
[1:31:23] we could go through to um set up the task force with a slot uh for a
[1:31:28] presentation on an upcoming um council agenda.
[1:31:32] » You think we could do that in 10 minutes, Nadia?
[1:31:36] » And that was my other comment to Chair Dubick uh in advance of tonight's
[1:31:40] meeting. Um, if the task force wanted to request
[1:31:45] additional time, um, that's totally fine. Um, that could just be, um,
[1:31:50] included in tonight's motion, uh, in relation to whether or not there is a
[1:31:55] presentation, who, uh, from the task force would wish to do that presentation
[1:32:00] and how long the the presentation um would be. Uh the maximum ideally would
[1:32:06] be 30 minutes because that's within the procedure bylaw that the maximum for
[1:32:10] each meeting. Um but as you know typically the um presentations and
[1:32:15] delegations to council are a 10-minute time slot.
[1:32:19] » Okay. Um so so I'm just going to open up the floor to see um if the task force
[1:32:25] would like to do a presentation to council.
[1:32:29] Thoughts on that? >> I think that would be an excellent idea.
[1:32:33] I think we could I think we could squeeze it in 30 minutes. I think we
[1:32:37] could. >> Absolutely. I think it's totally doable,
[1:32:41] » you know. Think so. What's everybody else think?
[1:32:46] » Can I ask when the council meeting would where would probably fall in just to see
[1:32:52] who's available? >> Yeah, first and third Wednesdays at 10
[1:32:58] o'clock. So, so Danielle, which one could we slot
[1:33:02] into? [clears throat] >> Uh, that is a really good question. Uh,
[1:33:07] if you just bear with me one moment, I can certainly have a quick peek at.
[1:33:12] I know uh I'm not I don't want to speak too soon. I'll take a quick look at what
[1:33:18] um is scheduled so far. We've
[1:33:22] » only got we got three or four meetings left.
[1:33:27] So, um through the chair, uh there's a 10 one 10-minute time slot available at
[1:33:34] the um September 16th council meeting.
[1:33:42] I'll have a look at the October meeting
[1:33:52] and it does appear that there are no delegations scheduled for the October
[1:33:57] 7th council meeting. So that would be open at this at this time. Yeah, because
[1:34:03] I I believe we could do a
[1:34:09] you know so so I'll just I'll just u state my opinion. I I think it's
[1:34:14] worthwhile to do a presentation because I think this task force has done a lot
[1:34:17] of work and I think it's it's worthwhile to um to showcase that work. Um, you
[1:34:24] know, I I I do believe that um, you know, there could be like a 10-minute
[1:34:30] presentation with then questions to follow. Um,
[1:34:34] » yeah, they always run into a half an hour [laughter]
[1:34:37] everyone. >> Yeah. because I think there's still, you
[1:34:42] know, I think it can be condensed in in some very kind of key
[1:34:46] » um, you know, where we want council to focus in on and where we want council to
[1:34:50] focus in on are there, you know, as a lead, you know, here here's probably,
[1:34:54] you know, here are the recommendations that we would like for council to move
[1:34:58] forward because we do have an ask in here for council for this council to
[1:35:03] move forward a a staff report on on a on a you know number of
[1:35:10] recommend recommendations and I think that is something that we would want to
[1:35:13] push council you know ask council to do um and that is easily done within a
[1:35:20] within a presentation format.
[1:35:24] So, I'm gonna leave it there and just open it up to see um if folks what what
[1:35:29] folks are thinking.
[1:35:38] The advantage of a uh presentation at council tends to get covered in the
[1:35:42] local paper. I think otherwise there's just a report that's provided and
[1:35:45] submitted for consideration and kind of like
[1:35:49] next nobody reads it. Unfortunately, I'm tied
[1:35:54] up on that day on the 7th, but I could do if it's two
[1:35:59] weeks later and I don't know if that's still council still meeting at that
[1:36:03] point or you you done. >> The last one is October 7th,
[1:36:06] unfortunately. >> Yeah.
[1:36:08] » Yeah. >> Yeah. I'm I'm not available October 7th.
[1:36:12] It was September 16th. Um but I'm certainly available to help
[1:36:16] prepare it. Anybody
[1:36:22] else available?
[1:36:25] » I'm sorry. The dates are the 16th of September and October the 7th.
[1:36:30] » Yeah. >> Yeah. And it's during the day.
[1:36:33] » 16th is out for me. Um 7th,
[1:36:44] [cough and clears throat] excuse me.
[1:36:50] Seventh is a possibility. Three,
[1:37:03] but I mean I think it should be done is my opinion on that matter. We'd
[1:37:08] certainly like to have as many members there as possible just to have them
[1:37:12] recognize the work that they've done and >> but [clears throat] if you can't I guess
[1:37:17] that's >> it's it's tricky unfortunately.
[1:37:21] » I can try I can try and move my appointment on the 7th. So it might be
[1:37:25] movable.
[1:37:28] » Okay. Thank you Richard Morris. Uh >> weddings stays are out for me. Okay.
[1:37:38] So, so the best potential date is October 7th. So, so Danielle,
[1:37:43] could we
[1:37:47] » could we get slotted there or like how would we go about doing that?
[1:37:52] » Uh, thank you through you, Chair Dubick. Sorry, it was the October 7th council
[1:37:56] meeting, >> correct?
[1:37:58] » Was the preference? Um, so I think I think uh the best
[1:38:04] process would be to um kind of do this in two separate parts. We'll the Lake
[1:38:11] Force Lake management task force could move um a motion that um approves the
[1:38:18] amended report and uh request that the final
[1:38:23] report as amended be forwarded to council. And then uh a sec a subsequent
[1:38:29] motion could be made that the task force agrees for a request to be made to
[1:38:34] present the report at the October 7th council meeting.
[1:38:42] and whether or not the task force wants to appoint specific members to present
[1:38:46] the the report um or leave it as um that the uh members of the task force will
[1:38:56] will attend to present the report. >> Let's leave it general so that um
[1:39:01] because it's going to be a best efforts and you know calendars may move around
[1:39:05] for folks. So let's if we can leave it general I think best.
[1:39:11] » Thank you. And and one more clarity that would be required in that subsequent
[1:39:15] [clears throat] motion would be the time frame um that the group would prefer.
[1:39:19] Would it be a 10-minut 20 minute 30 minute uh presentation keeping in mind
[1:39:24] that it's the speaking time that is limited. questions from council are
[1:39:31] after and um not included in that uh restricted time frame.
[1:39:39] » Yeah. >> So so I think so so I'm going to take a
[1:39:44] stab here. Um my my initial reaction is I think 20 minutes would be adequate.
[1:39:53] Okay. >> I don't know what what do folks feel.
[1:39:58] » [clears throat] >> I think you can do it, Chair Dubic.
[1:40:03] [laughter] And I I don't know if it's time to make
[1:40:07] a motion. I would make a motion that uh the Lake Management Task Force uh
[1:40:12] approve the amended report and uh pass it on to council.
[1:40:20] » Seconded.
[1:40:24] And then cam um coordinator Thompson for um for like a 20 minute presentation
[1:40:33] we could do a presentation like in the background kind of thing like off the
[1:40:38] side because because we kind of take the report and and kind of take key elements
[1:40:42] of it and put it in a in a presentation deck.
[1:40:46] » Um thank you through you. Uh I would suggest yeah that that's always a handy
[1:40:51] thing when presentations are made to council to have kind of a slide deck. So
[1:40:55] um we could include in the motion um
[1:41:01] recognition that the slide deck will be prepared and uh to accompany that
[1:41:05] presentation. >> Yeah.
[1:41:10] » And I just want to make sure that like it's not like we don't have to do
[1:41:12] another [laughter] review like a formal review of it,
[1:41:15] right? It's just it's going to be done on the side. Thank you.
[1:41:35] So folks, does that seem adequate for like 20 minutes?
[1:41:41] » I think so. Especially if there's follow-up questions.
[1:41:45] » So questions >> 20 minutes is a lot as having having
[1:41:48] prepared various presentations in my life. 20 minutes is a lot of content.
[1:41:54] » Yeah. But, you know, sitting at council, I I've we've also seen like, you know,
[1:41:58] smaller presentations like the presentate presenters going over 10
[1:42:02] minutes quite easily and so I don't want to get just cut off.
[1:42:05] » Right. If we don't use it all, great. >> Yeah. Yeah.
[1:42:15] I I agree. I think, you know, 10 minutes is a lot of speaking time.
[1:42:34] Okay.
[1:42:38] Um, now in terms of the presentation, is anybody here online? Um, so so I'm happy
[1:42:44] to continue to be involved uh with the development of the presentation. Is
[1:42:48] anybody else interested in being involved?
[1:42:53] Ken, Richard, >> I can help you. Yeah, certainly.
[1:43:02] » So, um, so Ken and Richard, if you guys want to be maybe like the main folks and
[1:43:05] then like we'll share it with everybody, but if, um, you know, if we can kind of
[1:43:09] act as a smaller team just to ensure we kind of pull something together and then
[1:43:13] we can share it with everybody else, make sure it's uh, it flows well and all
[1:43:16] that.
[1:43:23] Okay.
[1:43:30] Okay. So, I think we have a a motion on the
[1:43:36] floor before we even get to just to finish off the the accepting of the
[1:43:42] report or the submitting of the report. >> Yeah. So, Coordinator Thompson,
[1:43:47] » uh, thank you. Um, certainly I can I've I've I've created a bit of a draft um
[1:43:54] resolution for the task force to consider. Um,
[1:44:00] so the resolution would state that the task force receives the report final
[1:44:05] draft, task force report final draft.
[1:44:10] And uh and this is where that recommendation that resolution will
[1:44:14] include the amendments and so that the lake management task force approves the
[1:44:20] lake management task force report as amended. So, by adding a brief
[1:44:25] characterization for each lake within the executive summary,
[1:44:30] by removing the words known cause after zebra muscles under lake management
[1:44:35] objective one and inserting a potentially contributing factor in its
[1:44:40] place. Under action four, storm water runoff
[1:44:46] recommendation 4B, add taller grass heights. And under 4C,
[1:44:53] add adopt a highway program.
[1:44:57] And feel free to stop me as I'm uh going through these amendments.
[1:45:03] Under action five, recommendation 5B, addition of signage
[1:45:10] strategy.
[1:45:13] Under action 8, recommendation 8C is amended to incorporate a review of uh
[1:45:22] VRR restrictions currently in place and a review or consideration of
[1:45:29] restrictions for lakes currently without restrictions.
[1:45:35] Under action 10, recommendation 10A, indicate the prioritization of Lake
[1:45:41] Eugenia for a lake carrying capacity study and indication that the other
[1:45:45] three lakes could be considered for same in the future.
[1:45:51] Under action 11, recommendation 11A,
[1:45:57] remove words posted as and uh recommendation 11B,
[1:46:05] change priority to all four lakes
[1:46:10] under uh section. >> So actually that's 11 A. So we will for
[1:46:16] all other other lakes as well. So >> 11 A as well.
[1:46:19] » Yeah. Yeah. So Lake Eugenia for Leban is the priority and then other lakes could
[1:46:23] be considered in the future. >> Uh oh and sorry um chair Dubic I had
[1:46:31] that under action 10 A
[1:46:37] 10 A. So yes. So for 10 A. Yes. And also for 11 A and
[1:46:49] » for and for 11A as well. >> Okay. 11 A under 11A.
[1:46:55] » Yeah. Because 11B is just the water testing results.
[1:47:00] Um which is just like Eugenia because nobody else gets the water testing
[1:47:04] results. That's for the beach.
[1:47:08] » Okay. So for looking at uh the amendments for um 11A, we're going to
[1:47:14] remove the words posted as >> and as well for 11A change the priority
[1:47:20] to all four lakes. >> Um yes. So we will because we will add
[1:47:25] um um so we'll add another sentence under um the the description piece about
[1:47:33] um access you know just um reviewing the access points having a
[1:47:39] strategy for each of the access points for all lakes.
[1:47:55] Because the way 11A reads right now, it's it's very much focused on the Lake
[1:47:59] Eugenia public beach and we want to ensure that all access
[1:48:05] points are reviewed and have some sort of a strategy.
[1:48:09] But >> that's all access points in Lake
[1:48:11] Eugenia. So all access points um at all likes.
[1:48:18] So for example like you know would we want
[1:48:22] um so at Irish like there is an access point like would we want to
[1:48:29] you know to have a waste disposal site or
[1:48:35] um like like do we want to add anything else?
[1:48:45] Sorry, councelor Dubick. I'm a little bit confused. Um,
[1:48:50] so specific to the access points under action 11, is it A, B, or C?
[1:48:58] » It's A. >> It's A. And uh strategy for access
[1:49:03] points for all four lakes. >> Yeah. Okay.
[1:49:19] Uh because um the point that we made was um the the new access point on the north
[1:49:25] side of Lake Eugenia, staff does have um direction from council to review that
[1:49:33] access point and determine what it needs,
[1:49:38] you know. Um and and so I would think that it's fair then to ensure that we
[1:49:43] look at all access points um and and do the same.
[1:49:49] » Okay.
[1:49:53] » Thank you. So uh that uh amendment then would read that under action 11
[1:49:59] recommendation 11A amend priority for access points to include all four lakes.
[1:50:07] Uh under section six, communication plan introduction section to clarify that the
[1:50:13] intent of the plan is to create a social media content calendar for use by
[1:50:17] municipal communications staff to promote lake management and lake
[1:50:21] stewardship within the municipality. >> Fantastic.
[1:50:26] Uh under section six, communications plan, spring topic E, septic
[1:50:31] reinspection, add use of septic tank risers,
[1:50:39] um addition of an overall acronyms list for the report.
[1:50:49] And then the final amendment is uh the addition of any formatting amendments
[1:50:54] necessary to finalize the document and that the lake management task force
[1:51:00] requests that the final report as amended be forwarded to council for cons
[1:51:04] consideration. And at this time I have um indicated that that motion was moved
[1:51:11] by member Wickens and seconded by member Shelson.
[1:51:17] Does that sound okay? Awesome.
[1:51:27] » I'm ready for a glass of wine. >> So, the final step with this uh motion
[1:51:34] would then just be to vote and then the subsequent motion will consider the
[1:51:38] presentation um at the October 7th meeting.
[1:51:46] » I'll make that motion.
[1:51:51] I think you already did. >> So, Chair Dubick, we'll just need uh the
[1:51:56] the task force to vote on the motion. >> Oh, okay. All those in favor? Great.
[1:52:03] That is carried unanimously. Thank you very much.
[1:52:08] So, so Danielle, when do I need to pass along the report?
[1:52:14] Um Drew, you chair Dubic for the October
[1:52:21] 7th meeting. Um the deadline would be Monday,
[1:52:29] September 31st
[1:52:33] uh at noon and at that same time um it would need to include the slide deck. Um
[1:52:41] but I would suggest um that the request for the uh presentation to occur uh it
[1:52:51] should um be submitted as soon as possible and that can just be done
[1:52:55] through the website. >> Okay. So um so who does that? So so I
[1:53:00] can just go and do it. >> Absolutely. Yeah. Great. Okay.
[1:53:04] So so I can do that. Okay. Lovely.
[1:53:10] All right. Is that it >> in terms of the task force report? Yes.
[1:53:15] There's the subsequent motion for the presentation and I can uh I can assist
[1:53:22] the task force with that motion if necessary.
[1:53:25] um that the lake management task force agrees
[1:53:29] that a request for a 20-minute presentation will be submitted by chair
[1:53:35] Dubick for the October 7th council meeting and that a summary slideshow of
[1:53:41] key report points will be created by member Schelson, member Le Moine, and
[1:53:45] Chair Dubick to accompany the presentation to council.
[1:53:48] » Perfect. >> I'll move that.
[1:53:52] » Thank you, Dan. Seconder. Thank you, Morris.
[1:53:58] Conversation. So, I see now we'll take that to a vote.
[1:54:01] Those in favor and that is carried unanimously. Thank
[1:54:06] you.
[1:54:09] » We have one minute left in the meeting. >> What are we going to do with that?
[1:54:14] » Oh my goodness. [laughter] Okay. Are we done then, Danielle, for
[1:54:18] our motions? Fabulous. Okay, so uh next meeting. So
[1:54:24] we have no further meetings scheduled. Um and then just adjournment.
[1:54:30] So So folks um this is our last meeting. So I would just like to extend my
[1:54:36] gratitude um you know having the opportunity to to
[1:54:40] work with all of you. I think this has been a an effective um task force. You
[1:54:46] know these task forces are never easy. Um you know they always feel a little
[1:54:52] sometimes awkward um you know given the fact that you know we we always have
[1:54:56] these sort of these municipal constraints of how task force do run. Um
[1:55:02] but I I I do want to thank everybody for all their input um sharing your talents
[1:55:09] and you know and just always being flexible to to make things work. Um so
[1:55:14] so thank you so much. Um any so opening the floor for any final comments at our
[1:55:20] final meeting.
[1:55:25] Other than you did an excellent job leading this task force, I have nothing
[1:55:29] to say. >> Okay. Thank you. [laughter]
[1:55:35] » Thank you guys. It's been wonderful working with you with all of you.
[1:55:42] » Awesome. Okay. So then um we are just here to adjourn then so that the lake
[1:55:47] management task force adjourn at 7:01. Sorry, we're over time until the next
[1:55:53] meeting or until the call of the chair. Okay. Um, so we'll need a mover and a
[1:55:57] seconder. >> I'll move. [snorts]
[1:56:01] » Thank you, Richard. Ken has second and we'll take that to a vote. Those in
[1:56:06] favor? All right. Yay. Thank you so much.
