order and stand for the pledge of
allegiance.
[0:20]
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of
the United States of America,
[0:23]
and to the Republic for which it
stands, one Nation under God,
indivisible,
[0:29]
with liberty and justice for all.
[0:32]
All right.
[0:33]
Miss Mon Taz, roll call, please.
[0:35]

[0:48]
Carol.
[0:50]
All right, thank you.
[0:51]
Do we have an approval of the agenda?
[0:54]
Motion to approve the agenda.
[0:56]
Second.
[0:57]
All those in favor, say aye.
[0:58]
Aye.
[1:00]
Motion carries.
[1:03]
Approval of the minutes of July 13th,
2026 regularly meeting.
[1:11]
Motion to approve.
[1:12]
Second.
[1:13]
Okay.
[1:14]
Motion second.
[1:15]
All those in favor, say aye.
[1:16]
Aye.
[1:18]
Okay.
[1:19]
Motion carries.
[1:22]
Approval of registered claims.
[1:24]
Anybody have anything on that?
[1:26]
Look through everything look pretty
good.
[1:30]
Dipping dots is.
[1:34]
That's my question.
[1:37]
Is Dippin' Dots really ice cream?
That's what I really want to know.
[1:42]
That's kind of space age stuff,
right?
[1:43]
I mean, when it melts it does not
look like ice cream.
[1:48]
All right. Uh, motion to approve
registered claims.
[1:51]
Make a motion to approve the
registered claims.
[1:53]
I'll second.
[1:54]
Motion second and all those in favor
say aye.
[1:56]
Aye.
[1:59]
Motion carries.
[2:01]
Any correspondence?
[2:04]
No.
[2:05]
And the Parks Director's report.
[2:08]
Yes. Um, that would be, we do have
three more markets coming up.
[2:13]
So we're still working with those.
[2:16]
Um, the bands.
[2:18]
You seem to always get rained on on
Thursdays. I don't know what the deal
is.
[2:21]
but, um, one good thing came out of
that, Mandolin and the Hunters
[2:25]
um, agreed to because of our rain out
and due to um, Bluzin' Cruisin'
[2:30]
for us to put this one together.
[2:32]
So on August 16th, um, she's going to
play as a makeup for that.
[2:36]
And then we got Getty Treez band to
come, these guys co-cater as well.
[2:40]
Um, and we're just going to throw it
together and have a nice hopefully
[2:43]
some nice cars, hopefully a couple
bands, and the weather stays nice.
[2:48]
So we are doing free beer garden, uh,
couple, uh, food trucks. From 2:00 to
[2:53]
7:00-ish. I think she's going to stop
around 7:00. So it'll be our Blues
[2:57]
and Cruised throw together for a
Sunday.
[3:00]
That's like the old Sunday show that
we had, so it'll be hurry up and put
[3:05]
something together for that.
[3:06]
Um, so that is this Sunday.
[3:07]
Um, we did have the pool closed
yesterday.
[3:11]
And on Friday, it was the last day of
our Art to the Park.
[3:16]
Um, but we are starting the Hub back
up, which is our after school
program.
[3:21]
They named themselves the Hub. So
it's going homework club, but I don't
know
[3:24]
how much homework they're doing over
there. Um, they like to play games
and
[3:29]
basketball and all kinds of stuff.
They have going for them. So that one
is going
[3:34]
to start back off on the 17th, which
is Monday.
[3:35]
Um, who say fifth grade and over.
[3:37]
So that one is coming.
[3:39]
Um, the kids are asked to register
this week. They are ready.
[3:43]
They have been all summer unheard.
They have been all summer unheard.
They like to hang out and they go to
see all
[3:49]
the Catchen Angelina. They love her.
[3:50]
So, uh, they're ready for that one.
[3:52]
And we are going to Monday through
Friday.
[3:54]
So we were just Thursday. We thought
we would try Monday through Thursday.
[3:58]
They requested Friday also. They love
it.
[3:59]
So we're Monday through Friday now.
[4:01]
They're showing up Friday, like on a
Friday, no matter what.
[4:04]
I mean, because the problem itself is
not an end. Yeah.
[4:07]
So they want to play and hang out and
do all the things Friday.
[4:10]
So we gave it to them.
[4:11]
Um, we have a bunch of helpers and
Angelina.
[4:13]
The fire department has been awesome
and they go and play with the kids.
[4:19]
They do pick ball, they do
basketball, they do all the things.
[4:21]
Um, uh, well, police hang out and
they do because it kind of rolled
[4:24]
from their catch program.
[4:26]
So they're there as well.
[4:27]
So awesome, so awesome.
[4:29]
And then Angelina's husband does
sweet peas. He wants like a band.
[4:32]
So he goes in there, in there, and
then there's three kids that actually
are playing into their own acoustic.
They
[4:41]
like to play guitar. So he goes in
about drama and they played it.
[4:45]
And he actually played at a summer
market. Summer market came to play.
[4:48]
Yeah.
[4:49]
So it's it's like full circle. These
kids are they're loving it.
[4:54]
Um, we need to buy some new deeds for
them to kind of get them excited too.
[4:59]
We're still working on the lists for
that, but they love it.
[5:00]
Um, and then our next event.
[5:02]
volleyball, coming up in the 20
seconds. Um,
[5:05]
we have over 20 teams now.
[5:09]
So, we are able to, um,
[5:14]
get that going. Hopefully that we
have this last week that they
[5:16]
are able to, um, sign up still.
[5:20]
They just don't need to
[5:21]
share stuff with me.
[5:23]
Um, but there'll be a beer garden,
[5:24]
there'll be bracket tournaments going
on, all of the good things.
[5:28]
Um, and then of course,
[5:31]
these are going to have a little
flyers here if you guys.
[5:35]
Um, our second annual run
[5:37]
for your life race at Ralph's and
Link.
[5:39]
Uh, October 24th.
[5:41]
We're going to do again the
[5:43]
spooky race and spooky run.
[5:45]
And if you don't want to run, you can
just walk through,
[5:47]
you know, you don't have to all that.
[5:49]
Um, and then our nature camp
[5:52]
again with the kids October 20th,
21st and 22nd.
[5:56]
So we are full,
[5:57]
full to the max here.
[5:59]
Um,
[6:02]
I handed out, or yeah, you're looking
at now the survey
[6:04]
from the skate park. I just wanted
you guys to see that.
[6:07]
109 people responded,
[6:08]
which I thought was great.
[6:09]
Along with, um, probably
[6:11]
20 some, I don't know how many you
came, you came a little bit later,
[6:15]
but there was 20 some people at the
lease come through there.
[6:17]
Face dirty.
[6:19]
to actually show up to the meeting,
tell her what she wanted,
[6:21]
they wanted and and all the good
things.
[6:23]
So she's right now putting
[6:25]
together, thank you, Julia.
[6:26]
Thank you.
[6:27]
She is putting together a design.
[6:30]
Um, she said maybe three weeks.
[6:31]
And then we would meet again, see
what we thought of the design
[6:34]
and then, um,
[6:36]
she, because we had seen a designer,
I think she's going
[6:38]
to put out examples for kids.
[6:41]
And then she would put it in front of
us and then also
[6:43]
do another survey and
[6:44]
ask the community.
[6:46]
Because that was, we asked them
[6:47]
100% of what the community involved.
[6:49]
Asked them again, have another survey
and then go from there,
[6:51]
but we can't beyond their
construction schedule until spring,
unfortunately.
[6:56]
They are booked solid. And they're
actually worldwide, they're going
[6:58]
all over the place.
[7:00]
So we will get on their schedule
[7:02]
for um, spring of next year.
[7:04]
with that. Very exciting.
[7:06]
So, I'm starting to understand why
[7:08]
our, uh, budget was running low.
[7:10]
[laughter] printing all these.
[7:11]
Hey, our ink is free
[7:12]
with our with our lease.
[7:13]
So we're good now.
[7:14]
Oh, so now we're ready.
[7:16]
They're pretty.
[7:17]
Yeah. I know.
[7:18]
I need to transfer some money in
there, but it's from the
[7:20]
lease and stuff too.
[7:22]
So yeah.
[7:23]
But they tell us it's free, right?
[7:24]
[laughter]
Hey, it's not worth.
[7:26]
Yes, you have a lot of,
[7:27]
you got a lot of.
[7:28]
[laughter]
[7:29]
You got a lot of. Gotta get the.
[7:31]
Gotta get the word out there.
[7:32]
I have the truck that comes
[7:34]
there with you, so you have to get
the word out.
[7:35]
We did do the.
[7:37]
Pat and I were in Peru.
[7:38]
when you guys had that,
[7:40]
so we did the survey.
[7:41]
[laughter]
[7:42]
He's super excited.
[7:43]
He's very excited about it.
[7:44]
Tell his friends, you know,
[7:45]
tell everybody.
[7:46]
What I see on there.
[7:48]
We're going to have a lot
[7:49]
of out-of-towners.
[7:51]
Oh yeah, it's going
[7:52]
to be destination for sure.
[7:52]
Yeah, this is going to be huge.
[7:55]
And um, there's a lot of
[7:57]
stuff you can build around it.
[7:59]
And I mean,
[8:00]
food trucks could probably make it in
there just
[8:02]
hang out there with you.
[8:03]
Where's the location, though?
[8:05]
The pool property to the south
[8:06]
of the ball, yeah, that property.
[8:08]
So we're going to, um, eliminate the
one that's on the pad right
[8:11]
now, the old one and hopefully put a
shelter there.
[8:13]
Because we need to recapture that.
[8:16]
People love that party. There and
then hopefully it's shelter
[8:18]
by the skate park as well.
[8:19]
Because people have expressed
interest in doing parties over there,
[8:22]
skate park birthdays or
[8:23]
that kind of thing.
[8:24]
So hopefully two shelters.
[8:26]
Uh,
[8:28]
so the church part.
[8:29]
We bought that church.
[8:30]
Yeah.
[8:31]
Yeah.
[8:32]
And there's a church that was going
up there for like
[8:34]
15 years.
[8:35]
[laughter]
[8:36]
that church was looking at that
property most recently actually
[8:39]
bought the the old rack church.
[8:41]
Oh, okay.
[8:42]
Okay.
[8:43]
They told them.
[8:44]
They told them that property was too
small for the size
[8:46]
of church that they
[8:47]
wanted to build.
[8:48]
Oh, okay.
[8:49]
So yeah.
[8:50]
pool competitions.
[8:52]
Yeah.
[8:53]
So they're going to make it so that
is, uh, both the bike side
[8:55]
and the skate side they could be
competition for that.
[9:00]
Yeah. Oh.
[9:01]
What have you guys been in touch with
the indoor rehab?
[9:05]
Yes.
[9:06]
They were all there, they came,
[9:07]
the owner, everybody came.
[9:08]
Yeah. I know, the deal. Yes, yeah.
[laughter]
[9:12]
He was there.
[9:13]
I think his name was Jack.
[9:14]
I can't remember.
[9:16]
I think it's Jack B and she was there
with her people,
[9:18]
they expressed what they loved and.
[9:19]
They were more I it's a competition,
[9:23]
they had a certain layout ready and I
don't know, but it's in there
[9:26]
too of what they wanted.
[9:28]
So there's one question.
[9:31]
Um, I hear you said people want to
have parties, if they
[9:33]
get to rent a whole facility.
[9:37]
I doubt it'll be a whole facility,
you usually just
[9:38]
do the shelter. Okay.
[9:40]
For that kind of. Unless it's
counted.
[9:42]
No, no, no.
[9:43]
That. And it will be Brandon out big
for like a big, yeah,
[9:45]
big competition.
[9:46]
Or we would be as a host,
[9:48]
we would get on it.
[9:49]
Okay.
[9:50]
Host by that.
[9:51]
But are they going to do any fencing
around the back side?
[9:53]
I think you back right
[9:54]
up to the neighbors.
[9:55]
There are houses back there, yes.
[9:57]
Um, we don't plan on taking
[10:00]
any if not many trees back there at
all, we would like to leave
[10:02]
a nice buffer, like a natural buffer,
so I don't know as far as.
[10:05]
spent, you know, not sorry we haven't
got that far yet.
[10:08]
Uh, we know we need parking on that
side as well.
[10:11]
Um, we just haven't got to the layout
yet.
[10:12]
You want to see, we don't know yet.
[10:15]
Uh, they've talked about lights as
well, yeah, because we just want to
make sure it's not gonna intrude on
the people, there's houses on the two
sides, you know.
[10:23]
We have to be careful with that, but
it would extend their ability to, you
know, especially wintertime, sitting
outside.
[10:29]
And then you're thinking about like
the lights, how long do you want to
stay there
[10:33]
and all that? We talked about both.
[10:34]
So, being a business, you can put
motion lights out there.
[10:40]
When they're there. Oh, that's cool.
They're there. That's why.
[10:43]
So, say 2:00 in the morning, someone
shows up.
[10:47]
You think the lights will turn on and
we'll see lights on.
[10:49]
That's a good idea, yeah. That's a
good idea.
[10:53]
Yeah, yeah, mixed with the timer. I
like that.
[10:56]
I really do.
[10:57]
Is there a bathroom, extra bathroom
out there?
[11:01]
I don't know yet if we're gonna do
extra bathrooms, they're kind of
talking
[11:05]
about that as well. Yes, somebody
kind of, I don't know, there's a lot.
[11:09]
Or you can close up the floor and use
that building.
[11:13]
The building is open for bathrooms on
the outside, but it's far.
[11:16]
That's really far there.
[11:18]
Um, I mean, it's doable, people can
walk, but
[11:22]
you know, it just depends on how old
the building is going to be.
[11:25]
Yeah, you got to. They're holding on.
[11:28]
Yes.
[11:29]
So, um, fix locker room.
[11:33]
It's good. Yeah, it's it's all good
stuff.
[11:39]
Sorry, like it's from.
[11:42]
Um, our next thing was about the
pickleball courts.
[11:47]
I know we talked about pickleball a
little bit, but just not a location.
[11:51]
So, funding was approved for that by
the Board of Works, everything was
passed.
[11:56]
All the we just need to do is pass
the, uh, location.
[12:02]
So, location wise, we were all
talking about the Penny area.
[12:07]
So this was not the side of Penny and
the chamber building,
[12:11]
but the other side, which would be
that long skinny area with
playground.
[12:15]
Um, we would eventually remove the
playgrounds
[12:17]
and put that where it makes sense by
the bathrooms, the shelter and
everything
[12:21]
on that side of the building, and
then that whole long skinny area by
the
[12:23]
railroad tracks would be court and
anything else, hopefully parking
area.
[12:28]
Um, they were talking about probably
like some pulling area on that would
be like building.
[12:34]
And then maybe a lot where like the
playground itself is right now.
[12:38]
Um, it wouldn't have to be too many,
[12:40]
uh, we just talked about like if
there's a tournament or if there's
spectators,
[12:44]
we just kind of have to get that
number, uh, that have any media on
that.
[12:48]
So like the after school program,
[12:52]
Um, a lot more kids are playing.
[12:54]
My son. Hold on.
[12:56]
My son played for the first time this
year. He is addicted.
[13:00]
I played pickleball court by at Penny
three times.
[13:04]
I've never played in my life until
just now.
[13:07]
It's actually really fun. So.
[13:10]
Yeah, I, is there multiple locations
you'd have, you know, for?
[13:13]
That is pretty much the only one
right now. We tossed around a bunch
of different
[13:17]
areas. Um, it would be because of the
bike trail that runs right through
there.
[13:21]
We were saying they're looking at it.
Yeah, that's right.
[13:23]
All the bike.
[13:25]
Yeah. Downtown is right there.
[13:26]
It's all walkable, you know, that's
what we'd like to to keep it that
way.
[13:31]
Uh, the obviously the bathrooms are
on the other side, but it would all
kind of interact that way.
[13:36]
And hopefully, hopefully it's a good
spot.
[13:39]
I know a lot of people were talking
about the houses right there and
stuff too.
[13:42]
But it's maybe four or five houses
that are impacted right there.
[13:48]
Just kind of deal with that when it
comes.
[13:51]
I think they're not going to have
lights. That's why I think they're
talking about
[13:55]
not lighting it at least for right
now because people and how long
[13:58]
do they really need to stay there for
right now and that.
[14:00]
I didn't know about the motion
lights.
[14:03]
I don't know how that would be there
because there are a lot of people in
and
[14:06]
out and whatever. You have to face
them towards the business more than
anything.
[14:10]
So we're still talking about that
kind of stuff.
[14:12]
Is that going to, I know that Kurt,
Tyler Park is rented out for like
practices
[14:18]
and stuff. Is it still being heavily
used?
[14:19]
They don't rent it ever. They never
that I know.
[14:23]
I think this area is paid by the
soldier.
[14:26]
Is this paid for by them?
[14:27]
The property is private.
[14:30]
No, that's um.
[14:32]
Yeah. Famous, yeah, famous that
there. That's what I'm talking about.
Yeah.
[14:37]
What about that?
[14:38]
I don't know how many you can fit
back there.
[14:40]
Oh, yeah, it's never used, is that,
do they?
[14:42]
Um, all now Nisco, for some reason,
they're always having trucks back
there.
[14:46]
I don't really know. That's their
property. So sorry about their way.
[14:50]
No, we haven't talked about anything
back there at all.
[14:52]
Um, we are looking to fit eight
courts.
[14:55]
So we would have to be.
[14:57]
I would say that area. I like that
area but I.
[15:00]
I should have turned that down for
baseball, but.
[15:03]
Where's the sector?
[15:04]
Yeah, but it's so, there's so many
trees.
[15:06]
Oh, on this side.
[15:08]
When you first turn in,
[15:10]
not not the courts underneath all the
trees.
[15:13]
I know, but there is a lot of trees
still over there.
[15:16]
I know, but I'm like, oh, her.
[15:19]
It's just, I mean, you would just be.
[15:21]
It just, that would he just said I
realize.
[15:24]
So they're tiny, they're. I think
they're like
[15:26]
six family, and that was like 800
something.
[15:29]
But now we've bumped it up to 10.
[15:33]
So I don't know the answer to them
too.
[15:35]
It needs a lot for pickleball.
[15:38]
Really? I know they're not big with
them.
[15:40]
You're getting results.
[15:41]
Yeah, softball and baseball now is
your whole thing down there.
[15:44]
But right now they have.
[15:46]
I was pickleball yesterday morning.
[15:50]
And there was actually a bunch of
kids down there playing pickleball.
[15:55]
So, I know this one's never used
anyways this one.
[16:01]
But I want to say where we swinging.
[16:04]
Those courts right there are fancy.
[16:07]
I don't really know. The other
courts.
[16:09]
Good, two more.
[16:12]
I know what you're doing.
[16:14]
Yeah, I'll I'll drive it.
[16:16]
on the way home just.
[16:16]
I mean, I just think that that's a
better location
[16:19]
for a pickleball tournament this
year.
[16:21]
Did you just say you're asking for
new location?
[16:24]
No, no. Yeah.
[16:27]
So it was approved, everything goes
through Board of Works,
[16:30]
it was not um, it's not funding, and
you do the
[16:33]
park funding, and it's all uh, the
meeting impact funds,
[16:35]
and it's all been pushed through with
the Board of Works,
[16:39]
with a lawyer.
[16:40]
Everybody has signed off on
everything, and they just wanted
[16:42]
to make sure that we have the park
and all approval.
[16:44]
And word on this.
[16:46]
And we're supposed to, um, meet next
week.
[16:50]
Next week to walk through and lay it
out and see how
[16:52]
everything works out.
[16:56]
Yeah, everybody kind of walked
through and closed it all
[16:58]
different locations.
[17:00]
And came up with that would be the
the best one.
[17:05]
Okay.
[17:06]
And then somebody comes in, they ate
courts, they do all of the um.
[17:10]
So all the locations possible
locations and have they
[17:13]
they've had.
[17:14]
Yeah, we've looked at everything.
[17:16]
Um, the Hyper Tension company that
they do
[17:18]
and they make sure because.
[17:19]
We were talking asphalt, concrete,
what do you think, and because of
[17:24]
the train that goes through and
because if you look at that,
[17:26]
it's all sand.
[17:28]
It's really strange over there, I
don't know if there was part
[17:30]
of a bridge and this and that, but
it's all sand over there.
[17:33]
So, um, asphalt was not a good option
with the vibration of the
[17:36]
train and the sand.
[17:38]
So they were going to do the
hypertension country,
[17:40]
I don't know if I'm saying that
right.
[17:42]
But it's they go through and it's all
um underneath and they
[17:45]
pull it to make sure that there's
something they use in um
[17:49]
parking garages, and it's a special
concrete that
[17:51]
this company comes through and does.
[17:54]
And then they make sure that they're,
you know, it's not
[17:56]
going anywhere.
[17:57]
And if it does it has to be hit.
[17:59]
And then, um, they come in and do the
painting of the lines,
[18:02]
they do the fencing, they do the net,
they
[18:04]
everything's turn key, ready to go.
[18:06]
I mean, it's like.
[18:09]
It is. It's China, yeah, yeah.
[18:11]
It's been a long and speedy, so you
just do one court of ball.
[18:14]
And still had room for pulling
parking.
[18:16]
Yeah, I like I do.
[18:18]
And I I do think that should go over
where the pick ball
[18:21]
courts are at now.
[18:26]
And it makes more sense with the
bathroom for the little kids.
[18:29]
There's not that. If there is a
tournament or something and they
[18:31]
need they to forty five or something
on that side
[18:33]
they can't do it right now.
[18:34]
So. I would like to make a motion to
approve the
[18:37]
location for pickleball courts.
[18:41]
Second.
[18:43]
All those in favor, I.
[18:45]
Any opposed.
[18:46]
Motion carries.
[18:49]
We're excited about that because
we've been
[18:51]
talking about football courts
forever.
[18:52]
That was for a topic at my house is
to find out where they
[18:55]
going to put it.
[18:58]
where they going to put it.
[18:58]
They're addicted to it.
[19:00]
So the way part two, this one, I
think they can get on their
[19:03]
schedule.
[19:05]
Because it's a big job for them, they
want to push us to the front
[19:07]
and hoping to get it started, like
right away.
[19:10]
I really like the location because it
the Oaks
[19:13]
Vanashire goes right there.
[19:15]
Right there. Yeah.
[19:16]
We were standing there and meeting
with the guy and said,
[19:19]
what what do you think about this
location, you know,
[19:21]
this and that.
[19:22]
And we're like, this is, you know,
[19:24]
Yes, and and over there the the trail
is too close to the
[19:28]
Dollar side. I think it's perfect.
Yeah.
[19:32]
If they were going to start it before
they were playing Dollar
[19:35]
playing at this building, they were
playing at that building
[19:38]
court.
[19:40]
And then they wanted all fours and
they were going to do that,
[19:43]
but I remember when they came in they
were redo that little area,
[19:46]
the cost more than one of them.
[19:48]
So I want to actually do that.
[19:50]
Apparently you need at least six
courts to do a tournament.
[19:54]
So now having eight will do like the
bigger tournaments.
[19:57]
Remember,
[19:58]
Remember three years ago?
[19:59]
Yeah. We laughed at pick ball.
[20:02]
good. We sat here and we're like,
[20:03]
oh man, it's taking a
[20:04]
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
[20:07]
But these these should be really nice
in there.
[20:09]
Um, I don't see them going anywhere.
[20:11]
they're done right, and I really
think it's going to get done.
[20:15]
It has to be 50 and rising to do even
the painted part.
[20:18]
So they'll get the concrete, no
problem, poured, ready to go.
[20:20]
But then we were worried about the
painting of the lines and everything
[20:23]
and the special coding, but they said
50 and rising temperature.
[20:26]
So we should be good for a while,
yeah. Yes.
[20:28]
Um, so we're fingers crossed, hoping
that they can get that in
[20:31]
before and they'll be awesome.
[20:33]
Yeah, the rain is our big problem.
[20:36]
But we're excited about that one. We
have so many projects built, it's
pretty exciting.
[20:39]
[laughter]
Finally.
[20:40]
Um, and my other thing was the Clean
Cities um through our uh
[20:44]
our girl with Tim Kingsland and his
MS4 work teams.
[20:50]
They are doing a rain garden.
[20:52]
I don't know if you guys saw that.
[20:54]
Um, at Robinson Lake and they have a
map here of their plantings
[20:56]
and they wanted you guys to know,
[21:00]
um what was going out there and
where.
[21:02]
So if you're looking at the beach,
they are talking about the it would
[21:05]
be like the south side of the beach,
the left hand side.
[21:08]
There's an area that kind of dips
down and
[21:11]
from the top of even from the parking
lot area, like that is so wet
[21:15]
and rainy and then you can see a run
going through and then going
[21:17]
down my beach.
[21:20]
takes all my sand away and it's I
mean a deep run.
[21:22]
So this is going to help with that,
hopefully.
[21:25]
Um, and kind of anger each side.
[21:27]
The other side um is gorgeous with
the willow trees and that
[21:32]
kind of thing um and then this side
will have nice all natural native
plants.
[21:36]
And they're showy ones, you know,
they have flowers and everything too.
[21:38]
So
[21:39]
um we're going to fence it off.
[21:41]
I'm going to follow have a picture I
should have printed that out
[21:43]
for you guys.
[21:45]
But it's just a real simple wooden um
post with a rope that goes through.
[21:49]
It's Marquette has it for their rain
garden.
[21:52]
It's real simple and easy.
[21:53]
It's me a little up area out with her
to firm help with the
[21:55]
drainage issue there, so.
[21:59]
Um, I'm excited about that. They got
grants.
[22:03]
They're handling everything.
[22:04]
Um, we are going to do like the
fencing and that, but that's that's
about that.
[22:07]
Now is this this is not the friends
or else this is not it's not.
[22:11]
They wanted the norther side, the
right side.
[22:15]
Um, it's so this side if you look at
it, it doesn't have any drain
[22:18]
tile at all.
[22:20]
Yet, and we wanted to do drain tile,
but this will help with some of that.
[22:23]
That side is created from drain tile
into that water where it
[22:26]
drains, like that's the whole idea.
[22:29]
So it's totally different.
[22:32]
Yeah.
[22:33]
Who who was doing this?
[22:34]
So Tim Kingsland got the grant, and
he's with our MS4 um,
[22:37]
departments.
[22:39]
and he handles the waste water and
all of that.
[22:42]
So he did a grant and they gave him
[22:45]
it was an Amazon grant, I believe it
was right under $15,000
[22:48]
to do this.
[22:51]
And then I believe he got a little
bit more money to do the groundwork
and that kind of stuff too.
[22:55]
Um, so they're going to help with the
sand and the beach, keep that
[22:58]
from just going my through the water.
[23:02]
and do a firm.
[23:03]
And then the maintenance at the end
is going to be handled to
[23:06]
Davies who does like the gardens out
here at City Park.
[23:09]
So right now the parks are hands off
with it, just kind of location
[23:11]
and prettiness of it, actually.
[23:15]
So you said it's all native planting?
[23:17]
All native.
[23:19]
Yeah, she went through that.
[23:20]
So the grant covers all the
establishment of it.
[23:22]
Yeah.
[23:23]
They're going to do um, no seeds,
it's going to be plugs, not like
[23:25]
full of big plants and ice,
[23:27]
but we're going to get them as soon
as possible, um, in plugs
[23:30]
in there and hope for fall.
[23:32]
So that makes less time to establish
the native roots because the roots.
[23:36]
Oh yeah, yeah.
[23:37]
Yeah, they'll hopefully come right
back for spring and you know, we
[23:40]
might throw some seeds from it,
[23:42]
but other than that, they should be
good to go.
[23:45]
They should be. Should be.
[23:47]
Speaking of rock and some like that
was out there the other day and
[23:51]
I know we talked about Book Sandydor.
Yeah.
[23:55]
To me, I haven't been out there
lately.
[23:57]
Every day. Every day.
[23:59]
But then so it it looks to me that's
how it should look, right?
[24:03]
Is that what she wants? No.
[24:05]
She wants the 10 to 20 feet unmode,
uncut.
[24:10]
It is uncut.
[24:10]
Natural.
[24:11]
Well, we're letting it the thing is
like we're clearing it but
[24:13]
letting it grow back what was there.
[24:15]
She doesn't like what was there.
[24:18]
Um, and because of the sand, she can
said it was impacted because
[24:20]
we kind of move around the sand.
[24:23]
And then on that side it's all sand
that whole. Okay.
[24:27]
it just to me it it looks like it's
coming back to the way it
[24:30]
was as long as it's clean.
[24:33]
Clean and not just clear.
[24:35]
The um trash infested the brush.
[24:39]
And we didn't say no, she I guess put
out another email to Kelly and
[24:42]
and wanted her to put on her end.
[24:45]
I was like, we already brought this
to park board, like we're handling
[24:47]
it, you know.
[24:48]
We didn't say no.
[24:50]
said just pause.
[24:51]
Yeah, it wasn't cut. So that's what I
was thinking.
[24:54]
But it's going to be cut every so
often, you know, like we're
[24:57]
going to try to clear it and Justin's
still going around
[24:59]
and it's still good.
[25:02]
get something for what she was asking
for. Um.
[25:06]
She wanted her company to be paid
for.
[25:09]
She she didn't have time to donate to
us to do it,
[25:11]
but she wanted her company to be paid
to do it.
[25:13]
Okay. I took from that.
[25:15]
I thought. Oh, okay.
[25:17]
which now doing this as part of what
bringing, you know, which then they
like the power is that they can say
to myself, right?
[25:23]
Like this should be this should be
ours.
[25:25]
Well, this is on me. Everything else
when I'm paused, you want to actually
get the rest of the lake cleared
[25:28]
and and go from there, you know.
[25:33]
you don't need any of those things.
No.
[25:35]
No, it's it's just there and it's,
you know, not anything with the
parks. It was MS4 that went through.
[25:40]
That's all. I'll donated there.
[25:42]
money and.
[25:43]
Right. Yeah.
[25:44]
Yeah.
[25:45]
They did awesome. They're really
excited about that.
[25:47]
Everybody loves Rockton.
[25:48]
They really do. So they wanted it to
be the best of the leave happened
though.
[25:52]
Oh my gosh.
[25:53]
Oh yeah. That's the other thing that
I I'm hoping to do out there is pave
that parking lot.
[25:58]
because it is triple parked out
there. Those cars, you see it out by
the ice cream.
[26:02]
And then at night it's still it's so
dark out there.
[26:05]
Yeah, I'm like.
[26:07]
Yeah, I don't know if you guys saw I
put a fence because people were
breaking through our chain
[26:11]
and going back there and driving
fishing in whatever else.
[26:15]
So we put a chain, not a chain, but
an actual fence instead of a chain.
[26:18]
They were breaking into our lock,
they were picking our lock, all kinds
of stuff like every night.
[26:23]
Um, so there's a nice gate that says
no more, we've put a little sign that
says
[26:26]
north and south because they have
fish and they don't know what's north
and south.
[26:30]
They have fights every weekend. So
they know.
[26:33]
Better than spotted too, just in case
anybody has problems. Uh,
[26:37]
and then I really want to pave the
whole thing and ease the paving us
through the park and so on.
[26:41]
Um, and then a trail around, a paved
asphalt trail around the whole thing.
[26:47]
I think that would be amazing.
[26:48]
We want to pave trail. Yeah.
[26:51]
And then so it's all access from the
bike trail in, you can go around the
lake and then the Saba property.
[26:56]
Yeah, all access everybody.
[26:58]
And then Saba, the property to the
north of that is all going to be, um,
done by Lake County and
[27:04]
Davidson, a bunch of other places
around the two and Daltons too.
[27:09]
So it would all be new properties
all.
[27:11]
And then they're going to continue on
to continue on to the other side of
49 and into the nature trail too.
[27:15]
So it's like if it will be amazing.
[27:23]
Oh yeah, that's my dream pass.
[27:26]
All right. We're good?
[27:27]
Yeah.
[27:29]
Thank you. Thank you.
[27:31]
A lot of good stuff.
[27:33]
Thank you, Michelle.
[27:34]
Only thing I know that saves on, uh,
that's through before a self access
storage
[27:38]
facility on Sips at the end of the
year.
[27:48]
Uh, the last council meeting, we
approved the Fire Parkers contract
for 2021 for.
[27:56]
We here, yes.
[27:58]
Um, and we also reviewed and approved
the Capital Improvement Plan for
2031.
[28:03]
So like for you guys here now, um,
Capital Improvement Plan is kind of
like the city's wish list kind of.
[28:10]
Where you just, it's kind of like a
living document where it's updated
constantly with just like
[28:13]
things we would do when grades. Um.
[28:21]
What tiers? They did.
[28:22]
Yeah. Tier one, tier two, most
important, so least important for
here.
[28:27]
So that's updated.
[28:29]
I just got to say yeah.
[28:30]
Yeah, they do good.
[28:32]
I think we're going to be checking
off a lot of those milestones. that's
awesome. That's why.
[28:37]
Awesome.
[28:39]
Sure you got something.
[28:41]
I only have two things.
[28:43]
Uh, school starts Wednesday.
[28:46]
Um, so if you're not registered,
please your registration for numbers
kids who are not registered.
[28:51]
The second thing I just want to give
a shout out to
[28:54]
Uh, the city and uh, Holtslim and the
chief police.
[28:58]
Um, they just recently signed and uh,
changed to uh, SROs in the schools.
[29:05]
will now be completely off of the
school's shoulders.
[29:08]
Um, they, we get a grant, um, for
about $99,000 to cover some of the
portion of the
[29:14]
cost of the SROs, the city has taken
on all of the remaining costs.
[29:19]
So SROs of the schools will now be
providing by the city for to the
schools.
[29:25]
So everyone can go safe.
[29:27]
We're going to have an officer at
every uh, school.
[29:31]
Um, and the city paying for.
[29:32]
So that's uh, quite a big chunk of
money that we save in our operations
budget that we can do things like
[29:39]
That's awesome.
[29:45]
Uh, we don't have any old business,
new business, pickleball, final
approval, which we already did.
[29:51]
We started that. Well, no, that's
fine.
[29:55]
We have no announcements.
[29:59]
pressure?
[30:01]
So yeah?
[30:02]
All those in favor? Say I.
[30:04]
I.
[30:08]
You come to all those I know, you
know.
[30:10]
No, that's not a great. I'm sorry,
Chat.
[30:12]
No, he's like, he's a brand new. He's
like, I'm sorry.
[30:15]
Yeah, I'm very excited. I mean.
[30:18]
No, I didn't want to play off I
didn't want to play off.
[30:21]
I didn't want to play off.
[30:22]
You know, the word, the word to the
question.
[30:24]
No, it's. It's complicated.
[30:27]
Don't ever hesitate.
[30:28]
No.
[30:29]
How does that?
[30:31]
I, I did, I did.
[30:32]
I did.
[30:33]
I did. Right.
[30:34]
Just so you know, I'm going to run
with that.
[30:37]
I'm going to. I thought you got.
[30:40]
And once our speakers go out.
[30:41]
I, I, I, I, I.
[30:45]
Last thing. I mean.
[30:46]
The whole idea was.
[30:47]
You know.
[30:48]
That's how.
[30:49]
It's always.
[30:50]
You know, we get all the shit.
Everything's going to be in.
[30:53]
That's why. It's like, I want you to.
[30:55]
And then it comes out like. I said,
hold on.
[30:57]
And then.
[30:58]
inadequately.
